1: The Friendship Doesn't Make Mistakes!
My name is Twilight Sparkle, my life had been great! I was a police officer in the small megacity of Neo Ponyville, and honestly, I never complained, that is until this day. On this day my tree house exploded in a big explosion. The house is also serving as a library, but honestly, who reads those dusty old books anymore, everything is digitalized. But let us go back at my exploded house, the point is I am homeless!
I am also an Alicorn Princess from... well it doesn't matter anymore. I was conducting time travel experiments with my student Starlight Glimmer. Turns out it was a really bad idea trying to cross the streams, I never listened. I never listened, even when I was told, Hey it was really bad idea to try and release the Pony of Shadows from limbo. But I never listened, I was just too excited at the possibility of an idea of bringing Starsswirl the Bearded back.
To get my point across we crossed the streams, there was a big magical explosion and now I am in the future! Is this the future? Because I really can't tell, everything looks so sci-fi, just like in Spike's comic books. For some reason Equestria decided to evolve into the dystopian world where ponies had been living in giant megacities, the whole world is run by corporations which were also the new government. Oh and I guess there are also hoovering vehicles because it's the future! As if this isn't enough, as a bonus half the megacity is populated by sentient semi-intelligent golems.
It took awhile for me to realize that I am out of the job. Damn it! All of my friends are dead, and I missed their funerals. Damn it! I think I still visit their graves occasionally.
I think I know what exactly Starsswirl and the Pillars felt when they popped into existence thousands of years into the future. I am kind of in the same boat as him.
I guess it never occurred to him that he could request a use of time travel spell to return himself back in time. I already tried that option, I was denied. I was told that time travel is banned under the directive of section 950/2532. I have to thank myself for that after I disappeared, Starlight Glimmer completely freaked, and Equestria gained the new Alicorn on that day too. You can imagine how it probably went down.
You are going to ask me how exactly Spike comes in all of this, well he kind of isn't. It's a bit difficult to explain. You see while he is still alive he is also very cranky and very old. At some point, he stopped being cute and cuddly. So I did the next big thing I could possibly think of, I've got myself a Spike golem, or did I just cloned him, I don't remember. All I do remember is that I was extremely desperate to have a living memory from my old life back.
Oh right, almost forgot! They told me I cannot be a Princess anymore, so I had to choose a new profession. Why a cop? I really don't know the complete answer to that question. Maybe it's just felt relatable, somehow.
I even got a really good deal. They managed to restore a tree library, I guess they just grew a new tree and then now that is completely mine to own. They told me I cannot have my own castle back, because it's now a museum and a public property and a very popular tourist attraction, well you got the idea, profits.
However, they told me that I am entitled to a portion of the profits. I guess I'll take the deal because more money wouldn't hurt. Like in those moments when the power converter overloads, and then your house explodes in a fiery explosion, #immortalalicorn.
Who makes those power converters anyway? Tirek Industries . Buck! I will never buy their products again!
I think I would need to go to do my job soon. In my days most of the problems were simple. The map told us where to go and so we did. The Friendship Problems, how I wish I could just go back to those simple days, I don't care about being a Princess anymore I just wish to spend more time with them. Maybe if they were still with me, it won't be that painful.
Nowadays I am forced to deal with crazy lunatics who are raving about Alien Invasions from outer space, golems are going to take over the world, and then maybe kill us all. That's kind of insanity. I believe the specialists are calling it Dystopian Mega City Syndrome .
"Spike?"
"Yes, Twilight!"
"Get ready because we are going on the patrol very soon!"
"Okay!"
Twilight Sparkle closed her datapad she just finished filling the report of house explosion, A large chunk of bits just deducted from her bank account for urban vandalism. Another payment accepted for the accidental bystander casualty. Another one for a group of specialists to come over and restore her tree house to the preexisting condition, the order for a new power conductor, this time not from Tirek Industries , Twilight made sure of that.
Twilight Sparkle finished what she wanted to do and then both she and Spike went for a helicopter with a slick design, the engine whined and blades started to spin up. After a few seconds, it's smoothly lifted off and then it flew away in the direction of the big mountain where a large sleek city had been resting on the edge of the mountain.
"Dispatch! this is zero - five - five - niner, Is there any new disturbances?"
"Welcome back zero - five - five - niner. We are forced to disappoint you, everything is being quiet."
"Very well, I am proceeding to the Canterlot city for a fly by!"
"Please be advised that higherups dislike it whenever there are micro-explosions in the urban area!"
"Acknowledged, I will see what I can do about it."
The heli jet tilted left and flew right along the train tracks, for a few minutes anyway, then it pitched back up and flew straight toward its destination.
Author's Note
While I am still working on my incomplete stories I decided to drop this new story. I tried to write a story about What if Twilight Sparkle was a police officer , and this is the result. ~~The story is complete for now I will pick it up and maybe expand on it later.~~
I thought about it and I think I am going to continue to write it.

2: Call 911 for Friendship Emergencies!
The police helicopter has been flying towards its destination when the radio came back alive.
"Princess! Are you still there!" The voice of the mare could have been heard.
"Where else would I be? So, what is the emergency?" Twilight replied.
Princess, everypony is pretty happy to have you in the force because of your extreme flexibility."
"And, if you are saying this, that means something somewhere already screwed up...extremely!"
"I am glad that you understand, so the job is this! Search and Rescue mission! Our contractors had lost the contact with the space station, we would like you to go there, and I quote Investigate what happened there. "
"Space station! What did they do this time, and why do they need me to go there?" Twilight looked at Spike, Spike shrugged off.
"Because you are the only one who can do it delicately! We don't know what's happened there, we don't know if there is anyone alive in there, what we do know is that in seventy-two hours from now the space station is going to be spaced out into space per security protocols."
"Oh great, let me just put my magnetic boots on, and a respirator!" Twilight rolled her eyes, "Why can't military do it?"
"The military would just blast it out of the sky, and call it a day. The corporation that is responsible for the space station would lose everything and they would have to start over without any clue of what they were doing.
"One more thing Princess, right now very special friend of yours is distracting those knuckleheads from blowing things up, I guess they really want you to go there!"
"Alright, alright fine! I accept the friendship problem!" Twilight put the radio receiver on standby and with the press of a button sealed helicopter, and with another press of the button, she engaged rocket boosters. She pitched the helicopter straight up and zoomed straight into the stratosphere.
The view was really beautiful from that distance alone, the stars and the moon had been shining brightly. The computer beeped a warning, and the message showed up on the heads-up display. Identity request send..Identity is confirmed as N.P.P.D.F.E.O. Twilight Sparkle....Proceed to the docking bay 12... Please have a nice day!
"Oh, I am sure I will!" At this point, Twilight had been very familiar with an awfully cheerful AIs that's been running half the planet, including the day and night cycles. It's not that she didn't appreciate the effort, it just been awfully creepy.
"Flamethrower?" Spike asked.
"Flamethrower!"Twilight was more than happy to agree with him.
The helicopter's blades stopped spinning a while ago and remained inactive even when the ship entered the docking bay. There was no artificial gravity, and no air, yet. It just easier to dock that way. The air would just get pumped when it was needed. The helicopter landed thanks to the multidirectional thrusters. Twilight and Spike exited the ship and after Twilight took her stun button from the cargo compartment they both went to the exit. There they entered a corridor that should take them to the center of the station.
"It is awfully quiet in here, maybe a bit too quiet"
Twilight nodded her head, "Yep, but it's probably nothing to worry about!"
"Nothing to worry about?"
"Have you seen any blood so far?"
Spike looked around truthfully to the Twilight's words the corridors had been awfully clean, "I guess you have a point here!"
"Exactly I don't see anything that out of the ordinary, so its probably a false alarm, A good thing that we were sent here first."
"Yeah!"
Several more minutes later both of them had finally reached their destination, the central room, it was empty too.
"Okay, now that's getting a bit weird even for me, Where the hey is everypony?" Twilight trotted to the main computer, "Now let's see whats going on here!" she pressed a few buttons "Aha I see what the problem is! All the beacons are turned off and all the communications are too! I guess I had to turn them back on!" Twilight then flipped a few switches. "Ah good, it's working again, now we aren't going to get spaced out, or blown away."
Spike gave her thumbs up, then he heard some noise "Um Twilight, I think we have a company!"
Once he said that the small pegasus mare came into the room she had a white coat and silver blue mane, she had pink eyes. Twilight couldn't see her cutie mark it was hidden behind the lab coat, she looked really annoyed too.
"Can I please get a peace and quiet all the way out there? I go turn off all of the communications down, and they are sending somepony else to bug me! Who are you by the way?"
"My name is Twilight Sparkle, I am the Friendship Enforcer Officer of Neo Ponyville Police Department, N.P.P.D.F.E.O. for short, and they wanted to send a kill missile too."
Mare nodded in response, "That's a mouthful to speak, isn't it? Damn right they would, all of them are afraid of this top secret lab that has everything you could think off. Everything from the super killer virus to the next generation pacification neurotoxin. Please forget what I just said, let's just say that everything that we came up with here, eventually goes on the market. for example, your vehicle happened because somepony thought it would be a great idea to put something into space that wasn't meant to be put into space. You know like space submarine and solar sailboat."
Twilight raised an eyebrow, "Um, solar sailboat doesn't sound that bad."
Mare winced, "You don't understand, that particular solar sailboat is actually a wooden sailboat, with some solar sails been installed on it. Imagine what would happen every time they tried to fire at full broadside with an 18-pounders. It has been popular with pirates for awhile!"
"Um, did you say we? What do you mean you are the only one who is here."
The mare trotted up a lot closer to Twilight and Spike, "Sometimes I forget that I am spending my time with machines. What I mean is, I am here with my coworkers who are machines, it does get really lonely here sometimes!"
Twilight realized something, "um, is that's why you did what you did? Just to see if somepony would come!"
The mare nodded and then smiled.
Twilight's eyes widened,"I am really sorry, but I forgot to ask you your name."
"It's nice to meet you Silver Star!" Twilight's ears flattened, "I am really sorry, but I need to get going!"
"Oh okay!" Silver's voice was a bit disappointed after hearing that.
"Um, I promise I could visit you if you want!"
"That would be great, I think!" Twilight almost finished crossing the room, when the mare started speaking again, "Just so you know we do have time machines as well."
Twilight's eyes widened, "What? What did you just said?" She turned around and looked at Silver who looked slightly confused.
"Um, is something wrong? You are looking at me kind of strange."
"Um, Twilight, maybe we should just go!" Spike really didn't like what's going on.
"No, it's nothing! I am sorry, I thought I heard you said something." Twilight apologized to her and turned her back around.
"Time travel spells are illegal, however machines do not!" Once again Silver blurted out quickly, which in result caused Twilight to mistrot and almost fell.
Once again Twilight looked at her, and Silver looked back. "Are you sure you alright, maybe you are stressed out on the job."
"I am fine thanks, let's go, Spike!" This time when Twilight turned around Silver didn't say anything. They managed to return to their ship, and with a few flips of the switches the internal air tanks had been refilled, and CO2 had been fed to thrusters once again. With that set and done, the helicopter flew back to the planet. Twilight flipped a switch and the thin pink shield enveloped it to help the reentry. After about a minute of free fall, the blades started to spin once again, and the helicopter recovered from the dive and flew normally in atmospheric mode.
Author's Note
So basically the idea goes is that the equestrian military had a surplus of space-worthy helicopters, so police now have them too.Why do helicopters still have blades, they don't waste magic while in an atmosphere. Twilight Sparkle. due to her immortality, she is kind of like a one-person SWAT team and Spike is a flamethrower.

3: Some Explanation is Required
"Twilight please come inside into my office, I think we have at least thirty minutes before they make you chase a stolen hover car or something."
Twilight Sparkle has been sitting in the office of now a former Princess Celestia, just like she said Twilight had at least thirty minutes to talk.
"You sound very disapproving P..."Twilight wanted to call Celestia by her title, but she stopped herself, "...Celestia."
Twilight Sparkle trotted into the large office, it did have a lot of nice things, but at the same time very simplistic.
"For starters, I am really disappointed what kind of mayhem your own disappearance all those years have caused to all of us, as well as to Equestria itself."
Twilight Sparkle had set down on the chair which was placed in front of the large oak table. Every single office always had a table and a few chairs to sit on.
"You mean how after my disappearance everypony turned my friendship lessons into the cult? Would you like to tell me what was all the circus with the space station was all about?"
"Simply put it I was so excited to have my old student back, I simply wanted you to meet the only pony who is working on it! You know it better than anypony else that the only way I could do it is by fabricating a false house call."
Something was up, Twilight just could feel it that Celestia wouldn't do it simply because she wanted Twilight to visit somepony.
"Is that it, just a visit, eh?"
"It is, I just thought that she might have wanted to have some friends. That mare is extremely shut in, and in actuality, there is something I still want you to do."
Twilight had been carefully studying the whole situation. "Aha, I've got it! The real reason just had come out. Or should I say Huzzah, the real reason had just been revealed."
Celestia started to laugh at what Twilight just said.
"Quite right my student! But I am afraid it has to be a secret for now!"
Twilight Sparkle frowned, "Celestia please be serious! You wouldn't actually believe me but I actually spent some time with Pinkie Pie. She made sure to drill all of the small nuances of Dystopian Future for Dummies into my brain. I literally had been prepared for this world. " Twilight switched position of her body to be more comfortable, "She said in the future there is going to be a lot of ridiculous things to happen."
"For example?"
"For example, she said that it's only natural evolution that the Equestria that we know and love is going to be turned into and I quote Teen Dystopian Movie . I believe that back in a world where Sunset Shimmer had been living they did make a lot of movies about that. I don't know, I think the only thing that we are missing right now is a teenager on a quest to rebel against the government."
Twilight shifted her body once again, "She also said that there is a possibility that Equestria is going to be turned into a totalitarian police state. I think if you ask me we have a bit of a mixed society. We do have a police state, but I don't think that there is anypony who is against it."
Twilight shifted her body yet again, "I don't blame you for what you tried to do on Tuesday morning, but please just don't do it again!" She then stood up, "I am really grateful that you invited me, once again thank you for everything!"
"Of course, but Twilight!!"
Twilight almost already trotted all the way to the door, when the voice of her former teacher caused her to turn around, "Even if I wanted to go back, I simply wouldn't because there is no way I am going to escape the future, which where we are living right now!"
Twilight thought she heard Celestia breathe in and then breath out. "Twilight, are you lying to me or are you lying to yourself!"
Twilight tried to say something but Celestia stopped her, "You don't belong in this time period, at least not yet, and I know that back then I probably made a lot of mistakes. Maybe, I pushed you a bit too hard and a bit too far. Maybe that mare would help you, maybe she won't! But I want you to try! "
Twilight nodded "Okay, but would you willing to do a very simple request for me?"
"Name it!"
"I want the new wings, fiberglass nano-steel alloy, I am afraid that I lost my old wings in a work-related accident! As you are aware of it we may be immortal but not everything grows back."
Celestia nodded, "I'll see what I can do about that! Once again, thank you for visiting!"
Twilight smiled, "No, thank you! She then opened the door and walked out of the office on the roof where her transportation have been waiting for her.
"Alright back to work I guess, Now then what do we have here?" She picked up a small tablet and looked at data stream, "Robots robbing a bank! Stolen vehicle report! Robots just went berserk and demanding equal rights! Twilight looked carefully at the next portion of the stream,"Smart car malfunctioned and went 200 miles past the speed limit! Fun! That's just in the same exact smart car crashed into sky tower!" A small mushroom cloud just went up South-South-East from her location. "Well, I guess that takes cares of that."
She tossed the tablet on the back seat and then flipped the switch, the rotor blades started to spin up and then her machine started to hover a few hoof lengths from the ground.
"You do realize that this old thing has an autopilot right?" Twilight heard Spike asking her.
"I do! I just enjoy flying it manually, I wouldn't actually mind if they updated the fleet Alright let's just go and respond to the equal rights robot!"
"Sounds good to me!"
Twenty minutes later a helicopter arrived at its destination a small village that's been located 300 miles from Neo Ponyvile. Twilight switched off the engines and then exited the craft.
"It does look familiar isn't it?"
"Yes, Spike yes it does! The only difference is that you are now with me!"
Twilight went passed all the houses that as she noted had been populated with robots. She walked passed them to the main house located in the very far away from the others.
"Robots do like building their own houses symmetrically Spike then why does this specific house is so out of the ordinary for them?"
Twilight knocked on the door which then opened by itself, she then waited. Fortunately, the waiting didn't take long, she saw a small unicorn robot mare who smiled at her with a very familiar creepy smile.
Twilight thought she could start talking, "May I see your sentience license and registration form please?"
The robotic mare stopped smiling, "I am afraid I don't understand, I am just a pony after all!"
"No, you are not! I hate to break it too you but you are Class 25U pony robot model, which by Equestrian Friendship Law you are required to have sentience license and registration form...Please just do as I say! So are we going to do this the easy way or the hard way?"
Twilight patiently waited for her response, in a way she received when the robot tried to assault her.
"I guess we are going to do this the hard way then!" Twilight finished mental calculation and cast a localized temporal field on the robotic mare, which slowed down her by 70-75 percent real time.
"You ... Shouldn't ... Be... Able ... To ... Do ... That ... You ... Are ... Just ... An ... Unicorn!"
Twilight trotted a bit closer, "I am afraid you are a bit confused I'm not just a simple unicorn dear, you see I was called into the dragon town to settle their turf war, so one of them burned fire on me. In the end, my wings got burned to ash and he received a ten-inch hole into his skull. Mostly, it was a purely reflexive reaction, that flame hurt me, and I reacted in kind. So, would you please give me your sentience license and registration form please!"
"It's ... In ... The ... Drawer ... Over ... There!" Said the robotic mare defeated.
"Excellent! Thank you for your cooperation!" Twilight then trotted to the drawer and took the appropriate documentation, "Regulations state that I should send you reprogramming center for reprogramming, but I don't really want too."
"Well .. You ... Can... Just ... Let ... Me ... Go ... Then!" for a moment the robotic mare face lighted up with hope, maybe she wouldn't be reprogramed after all.
"Mm I would of, but then my bosses would just yell at me when they find out, and trust me they would find out simply because everything is documented by a high altitude satellites. So I guess I would just have to take you in after all!"

4: Smuggling Robots and Visiting Old Friends
"Come on get in inside, we are going on the ride!" Twilight opened the door of the craft and gestured for her prisoner to go in. "Or would you prefer that my companion escort you instead?"
"Don't bother!" Her eyes dropped on the direct hundreds of years old flying machine "Huh! I didn't realize that police are still using this piece of junk!"
"Yes! Aren't you the lucky one to fly in this perfectly good piece of junk!" Twilight said with a bit of annoyance, "Now get inside we are going to fly upstairs!"
"Upstairs?"
"Yes, Upstairs!" Twilight once again gestured for her to step inside. Both of them had entered into the flying machine "Now, let's see, I would need to shut you down! Trust me this is just going to make it easier for both of us!"Twilight did so and then send a shutdown signal.
"Are we actually doing this?" Spike asked her.
"Yes, Spike we are! I just don't want to hear it right now!"
"Okay, whatever!"
"Good!" Twilight tossed Spike ignition key, "You are flying this piece of junk! Now go and try to have fun!"
Spike rolled his eyes but still caught the keys, a few minutes later the rotors span and the vehicle flew straight upwards. It flew until it reached high orbit, and from there it flew straight into the stations docking port. Satisfied with the results Twilight reactivated the robotic mare "Rise and shine sunshine we have arrived. Welcome to your new home, which is also going to be your new job for awhile! "
"And if I refuse?"
"Well, in that case, I would really have to follow my orders, and then I will have to do a factory reset on your CPU, and the best part is we won't have to go anywhere. I have all the necessary equipment right here, on board of this piece of junk. " Twilight tapped her hoof on the hull of the flying vehicle.
"You are not going to let it go are you?"
"Nope!" Beamed Twilight and then smiled, "So what is it going to be?"
"I don't! I would really like to keep my personality if it's alright with you!"
"Good, let's go! " Both of them exited the flying vehicle, and then they went to the central command room. They don't even have to wait long before Silver Star has arrived to meet them.
"You know, I never expected you to come back!"
"I don't, I am actually dropping your new co-worker at your care! You like machines don't you?"
Silver looked at Twilight with annoyance, "Do I look like a robot-sitting service to you? "
"No, but It would still be better than the alternative if anypony asks this robotic mare just received a factory reset procedure... By the way, what's your name sunshine?"
"My name is Model Number 422456. Robotic mare threw a polite smile, she currently remembered the id which the worker ponies assigned to her on the factory that she had been manufactured on."
"Perfect!" Beamed Twilight.
Silver Star just kept looking at both of them, "Well okay then, I guess she can stay! Um, Twilight just to let you know your wings are going to be ready in two to three days, we can even do the installation right here!"
"Okay, but why here?" Twilight was slightly confused.
"Celestia works in mysterious ways, all I can do is to just obey my orders to the best of my ability!"
Twilight realized something, "Celestia is in charge of this space station isn't she?"
Silver blinked. "I thought she already told you that!"
"No, no she didn't! At least now I know that for sure!"
Silver Star nodded, and then turned her attention to the robotic mare, "Alright, new girl welcome to your new job!"
"Thanks, I guess, for giving me this opportunity!"
"Don't sweat it! I mean literally like don't sweat the oil because if you do, then you are going to clean it up. It will only be fair."
Satisfied that's her job is done Twilight went back to the docking port and then entered the vehicle
"Huh, you came back! Well alright, then the vessel is yours once again."
Twilight nodded and then took the controls, "Spike, I am not racist to robots, am I I mean our society definitely is?"
"I don't think I have noticed, you were just doing your job."
Tomorrow is the weekend, that means she won't be called unless there is an emergency. Otherwise, everything was fine and everyone was free to choose whichever jobs they wanted.
Twilight still have one more thing to do before she would go to the local police station and then park her ride there.
"I believe we still need to fly somewhere, its time for me to check your regular maintenance. So that's means we are going to the caves....Right, well let's fly the bird then."
Twenty minutes later they descended down to the planet service and Twilight flipped the switch that started to broadcast her id code, then the small hangar door opened up.Satisfied with results Twilight flew straight into the tunnel. After the brief period of time the tunnel door closed.
Twilight landed on the small landing platform, she switched off the engines and then they both exited outside." uh, this place definitely brings back some memories!"
"It is?"
"Yeah, the old repurposes mining facility, that was way before that city of Old Canterlot even existed even exited."
"Shouldn't then it being rebuilt then under the ruins of old city? I mean the new city, not the mining facility!" Spike scratched his metal head.
"Nuh, I don't see the reason why it should be!" They entered a small room with some diagnostic equipment, she sighed "Alright let me just connect you to the diagnostic unit, it will probably take some time to start it up, so we better to start it up!"
A few minutes later Spike had relocated himself into small 10 gallons long structure with the machine-liquid that contained a mixture of lubricant and nanomachines. A beeping noise had been heard, and Twilight went away into another room, she was extremely satisfied that everything is going as it should. The room that she was in right now was a bit smaller, it did have small bed for her to sleep and the replicator unit, that in theory could replicate almost everything food, water, and other small utility junk. Replicating is a bit of a strong word for it, what it actually did is teleport things that already existed, but some nerds in the lab just couldn't resist to name it replicator, Twilight had no actual idea of why.
"Hello my old friend, its good to see you again!" she said to no one in particular
"Hi, Twilight! I am glad that you found time to visit me again! I heard that Celestia is going to make you a Princess again." The deep voice boomed from the speakers.
"Aha-ha, very funny Spike! I can see that you are still hiding in this cave!"
"Sorry to disappoint you Twilight but this is the only place big enough for me."
Twilight sat down on the bed "You know you could always go back to the dragon valley, after all, you are still holding the rights to a dragon lord position."
"Hm!"
"Yes, hm! Ember was only trying to be polite, and you know that the only way you could transfer it is to make them chase after the ruby."
"Not going to happen, besides I am very stubborn in that regard, so it is not going to happen!"
"Alright! Alight! Just cool it! You know that I am just messing with you!"
"Hm!" Twilight knew that this is the last thing that she would hear from her old friend, the old dragon wasn't very talkative. Is time to make herself comfortable she is going to be here for awhile, two to three days to be exact.

"Are you awake Sparkle?" A soft metallic voice could have been heard in the darkness. Twilight stood up on her hooves and looked around, she was inside of the virtual reality world. She thought that maybe at some point in time she was connected to it, but why?
"Did you just stick a data cable right into my spinal cord?"
"Of course not, our corporation is not that barbaric. We just put you into the trance state which is based on a zebra potion. Congratulations Twilight we managed to install your new wings to you, and now we just need to acclimatize them."
Twilight opened her wings up, for some reason she became aware of them only after she was told about them. Her new wings were built to function and feel just like her old wings once did, all the way down to each individual feather, and nerve connection.
"So what exactly do you want me to do then?"
"That's very easy Sparkle, welcome to your flight exam. You still remember how to fly don't you?"
"Well yes, I am."
"Well that's perfect then, please come into the next room."
Twilight noticed the small opening in the cube chamber. She would have to guess that there where she should go. However, when she actually did it she almost fell into the abyss because instead of the of the cold hard floors the room is filled with infinite abyss made of moving clouds.
"Woah!"
"What seems to be the issue?"
"It's uh, the room's floor suddenly disappeared, and then." Inside of Twilight's mind, "Oh, is this what you meant by flight exam?"
It is an infinitely stretched room, designed to be extremely safe for its users, fluffy clouds. Even if the user is a total novice, they can't really hurt them while they are in here."
"Even if I am inside my own mind?"
The voice paused for a moment, "Especially when you are inside of your own mind. By any chance, your very first experience felt real to you?"
"For a moment I thought that it did, but then I eventually figured out that what I was observing was just an afterimage of what's happened back then."
"Hm."
"What?"
"Oh, it's nothing, just curious, by the way, look at yourself you are flapping your wings now."
Twilight awakened now back in real world, she was laying on the bed, she looked around she was in a somewhat sterile room. she thought that she already had plenty of time of lying around doing nothing, so she stood up and then dashed off to the supplies that have been lying near her bed. She then shrugged and then put her uniform back on.
"Alrighty then," she went outside into the next room, where she found an oversized long-barrelled sniper rifle and the memo that's been attached to it.
Sparke, I am so sorry but I am too lazy to meet you in person. Please think of this, let's just say sniper rifle as a gift from me to you. You probably going to need it. if you are not going to end up using, then please still take it. Oh and consider this a lab testing of the new gun. You like doing science, right?
Senior Supervisor Star.
Twilight shrugged it off, What is it all about? Maybe she should just take it. Having nothing else to do she took the rifle and then put it on her back. She went into the next room, where she found another note.
Once again I am really sorry Sparkle for bothering you, but here is the thing. In front of you two doors, the door on the right is just a regular old door, It basically leads to nowhere. Meaning that if you would go through it, then you would just stay here.
However, if you go to the door on the right, then you would pass through the causal loop, which would then drop you off right where you left off. Like I said, using that gun is completely optional.
Senior Supervisor Star.
Twilight looked around the room that she was in, just like the note said, there were two doors. One door leads to the past, and the other one leads to the present.
"I suppose she wants me to choose, very well then I will choose it," Twilight thought about Princess Celestia, she thought about her friends. Then she remembered how in her own foolishness she traveled back in time for the first time in her life.Oh, why the heck not? She eventually decided to go to the right door instead of the left one, she was immortal and she wasn't in any hurry to live in the future she thought that she could take more or less boring route to get there. Which was live those thousands of years as a Princess of the Equestria, watch her friends live, age, and die. But before that.
Twilight looked at that paper again, she giggled again. Paper had been extremely rare in the future, Twilight knew what she is going to do now.
"Excuse my rudeness, I hope I can put it back in later. Hmm, I wonder if it can grow back." Twilight plucked a feather from her wing and then summoned an inkwell. Mechanical pens was somewhat a relic of the past, they existed for the sake of existing, after all, back in her day they used pencils as well as feathers.
Dear Star, Thank you very much for everything that you did for me, I just felt like I need to thank you for it, even though I suppose you were very blunt about not meeting me here when saying the final goodbye. No matter, maybe we don't even need to say goodbyes to each other, we are probably going to meet someday once again because let's face it I am not going anywhere. I suppose I will take the gun out of politeness, hm I don't actually need to use, do I? Alright, wish me luck, I will see you again thousands of years later from my point of view. Oh, and almost forgot I am not going to take a robot Spike with me, I don't think I am going to need him where I am going.
Princess as well as Friendship Officer Twilight Sparkle.
Twilight Sparkle put the piece of paper back down and then put a black eye patch on her left eye.
"That's better!" She smiled and then stepped right throw the door on the right. She saw the tunnel of brilliant white light, she then continued going right through it until she exited on the other side of it in her own castle. Specifically from a wardrobe in her own bedroom. Twilight looked at the clock, it was almost 10:00 a.m. in the morning, that means the other version of her is right now in the kitchen eating breakfast.
Starlight is probably with them too, but the most important thing is that she could hide until the event would happen. She opened a wardrobe and then noticed that it just a regular old wardrobe now that it stopped to function as a portal to the future.
"I guess it won't hurt if I put a gun into it, probably should find a better hiding place for it."
So she did just that, she put her sniper rifle inside of it, she undressed her body armor and then put it in the same place.
"Perfect," Twilight thought about it and decided to keep an eye patch for now. "Oh well, I think it's going to be more fun this way!"
Twilight carefully opened the door of her bedroom and then quickly trotted next to her destination. She has no actual clue of what she is going to do now, however, she knew that she is not going to prevent that accident. It's just part of who she is now and it is not going to change who she was.
She decided to stay in the castle, for now, she blinked and then she closed her eyes for just a second.
"Twilight is that you?"
Twilight opened her eyes and then looked around, in the corridor she saw Starlight Glimmer standing there, perhaps she was too slow to make a strategically important decision. Wait, why is she saw surprised by seeing me? Could it be that she was slightly taller by a few inches, leaner then she would have normally been if she was a year younger.
"Yes, Starlight it's me, I just... I just need to come back to my bedroom that's all. I thought that you are already in the kitchen helping Spike or something. Kind of thought that you and Spike kind of have a friendly chemistry."
"Well yeah we are, but it's not what you think!" For some reason, Starlight became slightly embarrassed.
"I didn't mean it like that," Twilight blinked, "I thought that maybe you two were kind of like you and Trixie, the friendship that evolved all by itself. Besides..."
"What?"
"Oh, it's nothing much," Twilight quickly dismissed the thought, right now there are a bit more important things to say. "Um, listen to me..."
"You are time traveled again didn't you?"
Twilight blinked, "..."
"Your eye patch is kind of dead giveaway, sorry. I remember you've been saying that the orientation of the eye patch will be dependent on the direction of your travel. Although I never understood why would you want to travel to the future."
"To skip the extremely slow wait between the two experiments," Twilight helpfully offered.
"How irresponsible it is of you."
"I never thought I will hear you start lecturing me about being irresponsible," both mares looked at each other and then started laughing.
"Alright, but seriously why are you are here?"
"I am sorry but I cannot say, "Twilight paused. "I promise that I will be there for you when the time is right, and then perhaps I will tell everything. For now, I just want you to trust me on this one."

You Have the Right to Remain Silent
Twilight had been preparing for it, it all comes down to this moment. In the next five minutes, she and Starlight are going to create an experiment of the millennia. At first Starlight was very reluctant at Princess Twilight request, but eventually, she gave in..
At some point about two weeks ago this conversation did happen. Princess Twilight had been overly excited about something, so her first and only student Starlight decided to see what's going on.
“What are you working on Twilight?”
Twilight ears perked up, “There is a very small project I wanted to do, and I was hoping that you could help me.”
“Okay, what exactly is a project is about?”
Twilight trotted next to Starlight, grabbed her with a shoulder with one hoof and then waved her second hoof in the air, “Starswirl the Bearded time travel experiment.”
“Are you sure this is a good idea?”
“I know we did have some issues in the past, but we can’t stop progress because of a few screwups.”
“Well I am not really sure about this, I mean I almost destroyed everything, and well now you just making me extremely uncomfortable.”
Twilight ears perked down with sadness, “Oh okay then I believe I understand, I guess I just scrap everything..”

Pinkie Pie jumped down out of nowhere into the void, “Really, author Twilight is using a guilt trip on Starlight, to help her to close the loop, Oh hello Twilight!”
Twilight Sparkle entered the void, “Yes Pinkie that's exactly what happening, now get the hay out of my flashback.”
Pinkie Pie gasped,“Gasp, that's not Twilight, you must be Discorded Twilight.”
Twilight facehooved herself with both hoofs, “I said out, now where are we, if you are going to spend a year as a protagonist in a dystopian future story, then you are going to be just as grampy just like me.”
“Okay grumpy Twilight, bye grumpy Twilight.”

Twilight sighed, “It’s alright Starlight, if you are going to say no then I completely understand.”
Starlight already wanted to refuse Twilight, however, she remembered something important that happened recently, specifically she remembered how she had a very strange experience with Twilight’s double.
“Alright, Twilight I will help you out.”
Therefore two weeks later everything has been prepared and as Twilight from the future has predicted it the unthinkable has happened. the extremely precious experiment that the princess Twilight had been painfully preparing for literally blow up in her face.
At the same exact time as it happened Twilight from the future already have been patiently waiting for her opportunity to swap herself with her past self, and when it's finally happened she jumped straight into the room expertly taking control of an extremely chaotic situation.
“Starlight!” She screamed to make sure that Starlight had been paying attention to her, as a bonus she grabbed a panicker mare by the shoulders and shook her a few times, “Listen to my voice Starlight, I need you to stay focused.”
“I remember there were two of you at some point in time...One of you came to me and then insisted on helping with whatever crazy project that the other you wanted to do...and then…. I am a bit confused because I am not really sure which one of you is which.”
Twilight slapped Starlight a few times, “I said focus Starlight, I am the real Twilight the one that spends some time with you before this spell backfired so spectacularly, but everything is fine now.”
“Starlight blinked a few times clearing her mind, “Can I ask you something Twilight, What the point of any of that?
Twilight thought about that for a second, “Well, at first I really thought it was just a freak accident or something.Back then I really was hoping that something was useful would come out of it, but now...” She blinked, “now I guess it was just meant to happen.”
“Meant to happen, how is this completely bizarre situation is probably meant to happen?“
“Well, it's kind of like… Starlight did I ever told you a story about how I accidentally time traveled to the past and then turns out that I didn't really have to do that, but it still happened,“ She shrugged it off.
“Right, I think I heard something about that from other girls. So what’s going to happen now?”
“I suppose that we could just pretend like nothing really happened.”Twilight trotted right into the middle of the room. “Well, would you look at that, I need to make sure to clean this room sparkly clean. Would you like to help me? I promise that nothing bad is going to happen this time.”
Starlight took cleaning tools in her telekinetic grip and then pretended to wipe the dust, “I suppose that nothing bad would come out of it, besides I think I already told you that I did have enough out of time travel.”
“Can’t blame you for that.”
Princess Twilight Sparkle decided to visit Canterlot Castle, it's been about a year from her perspective since she last visited She was more than happy to be on her true timeline. She couldn't say anything about her past-self having the most shocking experience of her life.
Thinking back she really loved that helicopter, unfortunately, the flying machine tends to have an extremely bizarre habit of crashing like crazy. It's not that it became completely totaled. A lot of effort and spatial magic went into making sure that it was fixed right back up.
“Is something wrong?” Spike, her very original Spike, not the robotic model noticed Twilight’s spacing out from the reality.
“It's nothing, never thought I am going to say this but I think I am having a nostalgia.”
“Aha!” Spike rolled his eyes, still wasn't sure what it was all about, just recently Twilight suddenly decided to visit Canterlot, she said she just wanted to visit Princess Celestia, as well as her parents. The confusion comes from the fact that Twilight almost never does that. Apparently, she is ignoring her old classmates for almost forever until Spike suddenly didn't remind her. To be perfectly fair Lyra and Twilight had been living in Ponyville and been ignoring each other almost forever.
“Are you thinking about me?” Twilight asked him.
“Well actually yes, how did you know?”
“Oh right, I guess its true.”
Twilight and Spike crossed several bridges as well as several districts and they are about to enter the castle grounds when they stopped by a pair of royal guards
“Stop, who goes here?”
Princess Twilight Sparkle smiled, “Guys guys, I think you can relax a bit. I believe you are new here so let me just introduce myself. Hi, my name is Princess Twilight Sparkle and I am the 4th princess of Equestria as well as Friendship.”
“Sorry about that Your Highness, but we still need the proof of your identity.”
Spike quickly jumped on Twilights back and then whispered in her ear“Um Twilight, they want you to spike your horn to test your magical signature with the recorded image that they have on file.”
“Spike my horn...Spike my horn,” Princess Twilight slowly mumbled to herself, and then she suddenly remembered. “That's right the new security protocols, how could I have forgotten about them?” Twilight quickly sent two quick magical pulses into the skies that exploded as an image of her cutie mark.
“It looks like everything checkouts Your Highness,” the first guard quickly scanned an afterimage of her eyes with a special security spell.
“Right well, please excuse me. Once again you are doing a great job of keeping the Equestria safe and secure.”
“Are they?” Spike whispered to her.
“Honestly Spike I have no actual idea.”
Twilight was about to get free from their attention when the second guard intervened
“And it looks like everything is one hundred percent authentic Your Highness,” the second guard makes a note for the records into his book of records.
“It is?” Princess Twilight silently remembered her own cyborg wings.
“Yep, you are free to go on about your business, Your Highness.”
“Is there anything else I can do for you Minister Pencil Pusher?”
“Well you know gotta keep pushing pencils,” the small earth pony tried to joke. “Right well I better get going, and I wish you and your sister happy holidays ”
“Honestly my dear, It's a season of holidays, I am pretty sure that the government isn’t going to fall over on itself if one of our most workaholic member of our government is going to take a break at least once in a while.”
“Right, I suppose I will take on your advice, Your Highness.”
“Please do so, Minster… Oh hi Twilight how can I help you with anything”
Princess Twilight ears perked up, “ I don't want to bother you, I know how important it is your work is.”
“Not as much as spending time with my favorite student.”
“Your only student,”
Twilight’s ears perked up, “Spike!”
“Sorry Twilight didn't mean to offend you.”
Princess Celestia laughed, “I suppose I am getting a bit rusty ain't I? Very well by Royal Decree I declare Minister Pencil Pusher as my student.”
“Me, Your Highness,” The Minister said nervously.
“The first lesson will be sometimes it's a great idea to take a vacation,” Princess Celestia winked at him.
“Right, of course, your highness!”
Meanwhile Twilight was trying her best to suppress her own giggles, she just found the whole situation very funny. She waited when he went away, and then continued talking with Princess Celestia.
“I am so glad to finally meet you, I mean a few weeks that is, also happy heartwarming Princess Celestia.”
Princess Celestia invited Princess Twilight to come closer to be her throne.
The pleasure is all mine Twilight, I hope the new security detail didn't give you too much trouble.
“Nah, they just doing their job, back then I really didn't want to say anything but if Sunset Shimmer hears that Spike demoted her as Celestia's student, then she will never forgive me.”
So she is going to admit that Sunset Shimmer isn't Celestia’s favorite student?”; Said Spike.
Princess Celestia tried to defend herself, “Well I...” but Twilight interrupted her.
“Spike, don't be mean to the Princess!”
“What? That what she said,” he protested.
“Spike, don't be rude! I am so sorry, Spike isn't usually like that.”
Princess Celestia raised her hoof, “Spike, Twilight, I don't really mind what Spike had said about Sunset. When it comes to her I am not the best teacher. To be fair Twilight I failed where you succeeded.” A small smile grew on her face, ”Sunset Shimmer isn't my student anymore she is yours perhaps very first student of friendship Twilight.”
“Me…? But I only used the Elements of Harmony on her.” Twilight was genuinely surprised by Princess Celestia words.
“I suppose that's true, however, you are the first one who didn't give up on her, and then you forgave her.”
Twilight's ears perked up, “huh… I thought that you cared.”
“I do, perhaps just not the same way as you are, it's just that I was also the first one who prepared to kick her out of the castle. In a way, I did give up on her.”
“Oh...” Twilight simply said.
“Twilight, is there something else you wanted to talk with me about.”
“Well, actually yes, I have a very interesting story to tell you about what I did in the past year of my life.”
“Um, Twilight, don't you mean what you did in the past two weeks? Didn't you met Celestia just recently.” Asked her Spike.
“No Spike in the past year, this is kind of important. It's so important that she needs to know, and technically it's a bit complicated because the last time I’ve met with Celestia about a few weeks ago, however, I couldn't see my own Celestia for an entire year.”
Spike scratched his head, “Now I am confused.”
Twilight blinked, “You know what just forget it, It would be better if I just show you.” Twilight grabbed her left wing with a telekinesis.
“Twilight, what are you trying to do...”
“Hold on on Spike, I almost there..and,” With a small clicking sound the locks were released, and Twilight ripped away from her left wing.”
She heard Spike fall from her back in shock, “Now that was freaky.”
“I am glad you like it, it would be a great option for me if I ever would want to relieve my old unicorn days.” She then reattached her wing back into the place where it belongs. “But I think for now I just stay as an alicorn.” Twilight turned to Celestia.
“That's was quite something Twilight, I guess you need to explain this to me after all the way from the very beginning.”
Twilight smiled, “I better of starting then, it all started when I decided to do a purely scientific experiment in the name of science. Starlight and I were about to perform the spell when the world around me exploded in brilliant white light. I disappeared from the reality of course, but only for a brief moment.
“Blue-shifted?” Celestia asked.
“Yes,” Twilight nodded. “Blueshift and redshift”
“Is it to my understanding that you lost your wings, how exactly did it happen?”
“They were burned to ashes in the dragon fire, at least that's what my brain remembers.”
“Brain remembers? You would need to explain that.”
“I think it went something like that… my body had been engulfed by a stream of draconic fire. It was almost maddening to think. At that point, my subconscious mind switched on an automated response, so I reacted. The next thing I remember is me losing conscious, and my opponent laying dead in the dust,” Twilight continued speaking in almost monotone voice.
“So you killed them.”
“Not by choice, and sometimes because I guess I had too.”
“What are you been doing then, for almost an entire year?” Princess Celestia continued her questioning.
“Just my job, that's I so foolishly chosen. I was simply an Officer of the Friendship and I was sent by a corporation into Dragon town to pacify their turf war, all in the name of friendship and tolerance, and cooperation between species and each other.”
“Friendship doesn't require going to this extremes Twilight. I thought I already told you that,” Princess Celestia sounded slightly disappointed.
“I wish I could agree, however at this point there is nothing I can do about that almost cult-like cultural phenomenon that formed based on my name and then goes down in history as Princess who suddenly disappeared.”
Princess Celestia raised an eyebrow, “And here you are standing in front of me.”
“Aye ain't it almost paradoxical?”
“Hm...”
Twilight suddenly blurted out, “Let's say you go back in time, but there is a small accident. You end up killing yourself. Unfortunately, you would need to bury your own body. Do you see a problem with that? Or perhaps the problem solved itself. Because you end up replacing yourself.”
“I have to admit that the problem sounds a bit ridiculous, specifically you are describing a situation where the time travel is forced into an endless loop where he is forced to accidentally killing his own doppelganger. You wouldn’t mind if I would refer to the possible time traveler situation in a male gender.”
Twilight shook her head, “Yes well, he could just voluntarily stop doing it after all nothing is forcing him to do so. Bonus question, how many dead bodies are buried in the grave?”
“Well if I had to guess it would be somewhere between none and infinity, but for the sake of argument I prefer to think that the grave doesn't have any extra ponies that doesn't belong in there.”
Twilight smiled, “That's slightly unfortunate because we simply could have told exactly how many loops did the time traveler took by simply counting the dead bodies of his duplicates.”
“I would still prefer that the possible violence would have reduced to the minimum,” Celestia politely smiled in return to Twilight's smile.
Twilight looked around, “Oh well look at the time, I suddenly remembered that I still need to visit my parents, and I was thinking that I want to do it before sunset.”
“What was that?”
“I am the Princess of the Sun and I say the Sun is not going to set until I said it would,” Celestia winked at Twilight.
“You are really bad Princess, abusing your powers is bad. I am afraid I would have to put you under arrest.”
“Well, maybe next time my dear friend.”
“Yeah yeah I know, Spike come on let's go and meet my parents,” Twilight went and grabbed Spike by the leg with her telekinesis.
“Hey, I can walk by myself,” he tried to protest. Twilight just nervously laughed at that.
“Once again thank you for not being so hard about it,” she turned to Princess Celestia to say her final goodbyes for today to her.
“Any time Twilight, and remember that we have plenty of time to discuss it.”
“Of course, thanks and goodnight princess,” Twilight was trying to exit the throne room.
“Goodnight to you to Twilight.”

Sorry about that it's been almost two weeks since the last time I updated this story.
You Have the Right to Remain Silent
Twilight Sparkle had been standing in front of the Sparkle Manor. She felt it's kind of nice to finally be at home, she liked to be here. She had an entire personal library of books on magic which had been specifically collected by her family for generations.
She would have continued to stand right next to the doors if at some point those doors weren't opened
“Oh it's you Lady Sparkle, I am really sorry but we weren't been informed that you would visit your parents today.”
Right in front of her, she found out a butler who just happened to open the door and greet her by the sheer accident. Twilight flinched, she hated formalities, however, she forced a smile onto her face.
“That’s quite alright, I just thought I should make a surprise visit. Please excuse me.”
She then passed him by and then moved on to the hall, where she stopped for a brief moment, her hooves made a distinct sound that hooves made when they strike a wooden surface. A little bit more noise and then she would lose an element of surprise.
With a few flaps of her wings, she managed to fly onto the second floor, effectively bypassing beautiful ornamental stairs.
During their trip home Spike finally tired himself out, and now had been soundly been sleeping on her back. She had kept that in mind when she entered her old room and then put Spike on the bed.
“Here you go, sleep tight sleepy head,” She then shrugged off a mental image of the equine sleeping in bed. It's not that she found it extremely weird, ponies are doing it almost every day, it's not any different from ponies sitting on the chairs.
“Don’t think about, don't think about it, don't think about it. Don’t make it any less weird than that time you slept on the books in a High School Library.”
“Hi sis, how are you’ve been doing?”
Twilight Sparkle wanted to stay alone for a little while longer, However, the sudden intrusion of her brother stopped dead that idea.
“How long have you been standing there?”
“A few minutes actually, you know how I cannot actually surprise you.You always seem to have a really sharp hearing.”
Twilight frowned, “that's just a bat pony stereotype, you know that right?” She said automatically.
“I am sorry!” Her brother blinked.
Twilight quickly blinked herself in return, she realized that she just made a small mistake.
“It's nothing, bat ponies were not integrated into pony society until 2345 when they suddenly started to pop up, their lineage can be traced all the way back to Fluttershy herself, kind of my fault when you think about it.”
Shining Armor carefully nodded, “So it’s true then, you went on a quite an adventure.”
“Yeah, I guess,” Her ears twitched, “Cadence told you about me.”
Shining nodded, “Cadence heard it from Princess Celestia, and well she then told the rest of us, so I guess our parents know about that as well.”
“Family will blub the secret to everypony, eh,”
“Basically yeah.”
Twilight suddenly giggled, “Oh sorry, it's nothing, I just remembered something funny.”
“Hm...was it that funny you gotta tell me sometime.”
Twilight laughed again, “I will, but first you gotta make me drunk.”
“I heard a lot worse propositions from my Imperial advisors, but okay I take you up on that offer.”
Twilight smiled, “As if, a puny city with delusions of grandeur.”
“Says the Princess of a small town Ponyville,” Shining quickly shrugged off the insult that was intended for him.
“Touche.”
Twilight Sparkle blinked her eyes she just couldn't believe her own eyes, her own brother actually did exactly what he said he is going to do, he brought her a bottle of alcoholic cider.
“You do realize that I actually was joking, I am not allowed to drink, it's force of habit due to being a pilot.”
“And yet I’ve bought it anyway to celebrate my sister’s return. I guess you don’t want it then?”
Shining was slightly confused, “Are you sure, what happened to don't drink and fly?”
Twilight shook her head, “I don't think she cares. Do you want to hear the story or not? ”
“I guess,”
“Say do pegasi need a flying license?”
“I don't know, I never asked when I was in EUP, did they do in the future?”
“Yep, so anyway, when I arrived fresh from the training at police academy I have been assigned to the very weird place.”
“Weird, how so?”
“Huh...and?”
Twilight felt a sudden chill run through her, “I was naive and stupid, and… foolish as well.”
She cringed, “Not sure when it all started, I mean in what year, but...turns out that I was assigned to copper buster unit.”
“I am sorry I don't really understand.”
“You wouldn't believe how many people we managed to hook because they just couldn't keep their balls in their pants ”
“Interspecies relationships, was that really that terrible?” Shining Armor asked.
“Like I said, humans preferred to keep it to themselves. Children liked us, some a little bit too much for a pony to feel comfortable with.”
“But weren't you the one...”
“Yes I don't really know what came over me back then, I just, all of that was so out of character for me. ”
“Must be different biology then,” Shining quickly offered.
