Chapters The Rainbow Falls Amusement Park
“We’re finally going to the Rainbow Falls amusement park.” Twilight Sparkle exclaimed happily. Spring Break has begun, and all of the students in Canterlot High have been springing out plans for vacation. Twilight and Rainbow Dash’s plans were to take an old friend, Juniper Montage, into an amusement park in Rainbow Falls. They sat in an airliner plane flying towards their destination.
“It’s really nice of you and Rainbow Dash to take me along.” Juniper replied.
“You don’t have to thank us. In fact, we’re just trying to make you feel better.” Rainbow Dash followed.
“Do you think my father will accept this?”
“Don’t worry about it, me and Twilight talked to him and he said that you can come with us. Plus, he also wanted you to feel better since you became a dangerous creature of mirrors…. No offense...” Rainbow recalled.
“You told him about what happened at the mall the other day!?” Juniper slightly argued.
Twilight chimed in. “We’re sorry. Your father needed to know what happened, otherwise you’d probably never come to his studio again.”
“But don’t worry about that. We already straightened things out with him. Besides, you're not in huge trouble, just at a loss...” Rainbow explained.
“I’m not at a loss at all. I’m just always upset that things don’t go well for me. I know I made big mistakes before, but I couldn’t take it any longer.” Juniper contrasted.
Twilight then placed her hand onto Juniper’s. “Just relax. I’m sure when we’re done at Rainbow Falls, everything will be behind us. The flight to our destination takes approximately four hours, so there won't be any problems, guaranteed.”
“Okay, I’ll do my best.”
As soon as the three Girls checked into their apartment, Rainbow Dash took out her list of plans. Seeing that she manages to know the location, Rainbow started to set up and change into a new outfit in seconds.
“Okay, what we're going to do today is have lunch first at a restaurant. And then, zoomin’ our way to the amusement park. We’ll get to go on rides, make new friends for Juniper, the whole nine!”
“How am I going to make friends if we’re going to leave afterwards? They would probably forget me, even if I'd say hi.” Juniper lowered her head down.
Twilight then walked up to Juniper. “Consider this as a test, Juniper - a lesson that enables you to finally make new friends. And, trust us. We’re here to help.”
Rainbow Dash also walked up to Juniper with her arm wrap around her neck. “Don’t worry about it. When we’re back home, we’ll keep going until you're able to handle this by yourself.”
“Okay... I’m just a little nervous about messing up.”
“You're not going to mess up. Just believe in yourself.” Rainbow encouraged. By the time they exited their apartment room, they started getting lunch at a local restaurant, discussing plans and training Juniper to become a friend. Though Juniper was still nervous about the results, she'd have to believe in Twilight and Rainbow.
“We’re here!” Rainbow shouted. Once she parked her car to an empty spot in the parking lot, she, Twilight, and Juniper exited. Finally, they approached the gates to the Rainbow Falls amusement park. They devoted their tickets to the ticket booth attendants in the entrance.
“This place is amazing...” Juniper commented.
“I can’t wait for the rides and games.” Twilight replied happily.
“Save your excitement for later. Just remember - we’re also helping Juniper on friendship.” Rainbow reminded
“Yeah. Let’s get going.” Twilight followed. Inside, they were astounded of the atmosphere of rides, games, and tons of people. Indeed, the park is huge, but not only does it have tons of rides and games, but also an exclusive tour of the entire Rainbow Falls. The tour contained a large sailing boat for people to embark and sail the beautiful waters and around the lake. One of the boats made way inside a cave, consisting of an amazing view on one of the trademark waterfalls with colorful lights shining on the pouring water.
Since Juniper was in need of someone to relate to as a first learning sign of friendship, she and the two Girls decided first to go play several games. “So what am I going to talk to? Theres like thousands of people here.”
“Let’s try the dunk tank.” Twilight pointed at some people near the dunk tank post, with some boys setting up.
“I’m really sure they need some to get those boys wet.” Rainbow Dash winked.
Juniper decided to step in. “Hey, everyone. Umm…Is it okay that I can join with you? I’m Juniper, and this is my first time here in Rainbow Falls.”
One of the girls found Juniper’s behavior nice enough to be accepted and explained. “Sure, why not? Here’s some balls - some free shots for first-timers, but you should wait for a while because someone needs to be all set in there. In the meantime, maybe you can practice your throws.”
As the girl pointed to the dunk tank from the inside, Rainbow Dash and Twilight looked on, impressed with Juniper’s efforts of making friends
“Well, that escalated quickly.” Twilight commented to Rainbow. “If she acted that way to everyone in this park, she might be able to make a few friends.”
“When is he going to be in the tank?” Juniper asked the other girls as she continued practicing her throws.
“He’s coming in a bit. He’s a swim trainer, graduated from high school recently.” the girls answered.
“Wait! So, he’s on his own? What about his parents?” Juniper wondered.
“They moved to a different city because he is able to handle his life by himself. He wanted to be independent by helping people to swim.”
“I’m sorry, but who is this guy you're talking about?” Rainbow asked.
“His name is Tim Diver. He’s just taking his time, getting his swimsuit on.” the other girl answered.
For the next five minutes, the guy finally got himself into the tank with his swimsuit on. Rainbow Dash saw him, and was lightly weak at the knees. Of course, she didn’t think that he was unmistakably attractive.
“Wow! He looks… spicy hot!” Rainbow shouted in her mind.
“You're really surprised? You met other boys in your gym class. What makes him so better?” Twilight interrogated. It was then Tim took his shirt off to reveal his body, which causes Rainbow to bite her lip as the sight of his abs.
“He’s different, that's all!...” Rainbow continues to gaze at his body. “If different is made of a guy who's totally sexy…”
“Okay. Who's up first? How about the girl with the green hair there.” the guy called out before sitting on the post. Juniper blushed at him for being shirtless.
“Oh sorry, it’s just that I didn’t expect you to take off your shirt.” Juniper blurted out.
“I always do that everytime I’m in the dunk. It's pretty much the rules...” Tim explained.
Despite Rainbow Dash still staring at Tim, Juniper was about to throw her ball on the target. Juniper leaned back, winded up once, and threw the ball the best she could. Out of sheer luck, the ball hit the target hard, causing Tim’s post to drop. As a result, he splashed in the water.
“Wow! First try!” One of the girls shouted in shock.
“No way! I thought I wasn’t go to do it on my first try!” Juniper couldn't believe it either.
Tim got out of the water tank and shook Juniper’s hand, congratulating her for winning. He then took out a basket of rewards, and awarded her a 3D Rainbow Falls card.
“This special card is won exclusively for players who hit the target in one shot. Congrats again!” he explained.
“Oh wow! thank you.” Juniper smiled.
Rainbow wanted to take her chance at talking to Tim, but still can't get over him being shirtless. However, she boldly walked up to him with a blush, hoping that she doesn't slip up anything too weird.
“Hey there, I’m Rainbow Dash…, and I think… you're really cute with your shirt off.” she blurted out.
“Oh! Thanks,” Tim replied after receiving that comment. “People would always want me to take their shirt off when we’re playing games like this, just for the rules. And, you're pretty cute, too.”
“Really?” Rainbow gasped.
“Yeah... a lot.” he replied, raising her eyebrow once. She felt bedazzled after the compliment she got from Tim.
“Hey! I got an idea: How bout you come with us on some rides? Maybe even in the waterfalls?” Rainbow suggested.
“Sure. Maybe I can teach everyone how to swim...” Tim shrugged.
“That’s a great idea.” Rainbow jumped with glee.
Twilight and Juniper looked jealous, and questioned at the same time. They witnessed Rainbow acting a little different, making a blind move onto Tim.
Twilight approached to Rainbow just as soon as Tim walked out. “Rainbow Dash? Why are you taking Tim with us? I thought you were going to help me on making friends for Juniper?”
“We are! In fact, Tim is going to teach Juniper on how to swim.” Rainbow thought it through quickly.
Juniper had no idea. “But, I don't even know how to swim. And, I didn’t even bring my swimsuit.”
“It’s okay. You can borrow my swimsuit.”
“Okay... this is starting to get more confusing.” Twilight investigated. “Rainbow Dash, I think Juniper wants more of a answer on why you're doing this.”
Rainbow Dash tried to explain to her friends, but at the same time needed to make sure Tim doesn’t know her secret.
“Okay. We'll save you some room. Come on, everyone!” Tim and his friends zoomed their way to the waterfalls.
“Look, there’s something that you have to keep as a secret for me - I have a crush on him.” Rainbow confessed.
Twilight and Juniper gasped lightly. “You have a crush on Tim?”
“I know, I know. I just met him and stuff, but he’s more different than the other boys at school. He seems nice, and he's way too hot.”
“You said that minutes ago.” Twilight corrected.
“But, I really have something for him.” Rainbow quickly turned to Juniper. “Can you please tell him what he feels about me?”
Juniper tried to reason with Rainbow. “I thought you’re going to help me on making friends. Sure, I would willing to help you, but I’m not a love expert. Plus, I can’t just help you win him over because it’s just not right. Besides, If you want to win him over, then do it by yourself.”
Rainbow felt a bit disappointed in, letting her feelings get in the way of her friend's task. Twilight walked up to Rainbow, knowing about her feelings with boys.
“Rainbow, I know this is hard for you, but it won’t make a difference because he can’t come with us when we leave here, even if you win him over. Also, he was only being nice because he has probably met tons of girls, and they felt the same way without hurting them. If you ever get the chance to express your feelings towards him, he would probably won’t accept it… No offence.”
Rainbow Dash sighed. She indeed had to face the facts that Twilight had a point. She knew that Tim would refuse to have her as his girlfriend that fast, so she decided to accept it.
“Okay, I get it. But, how I’m going to tell him that you don’t want to swim?” She pointed at Juniper.
“Tell him that your replacing me. I’m sure he can give you some more lessons since you gained experience before.” Juniper suggested.
“Thanks, Juniper.” Rainbow nodded. And with that, they go to the waterfalls, while Tim Diver and his friends were hanging around in their swimsuits.
The beauty of the waterfalls captured the eyes of those that entered, and glistened bodies with wetness of the clear water falling down from on high to the pool-like lake. Along with it, a hot spring at the top in the cave, which contains beautiful lights. Tim Diver, of course, and others were indeed enjoying themselves, be it talking, playing around, or swimming around.
“Rainbow Dash! Are you almost done in there?” Twilight asked, being patient.
“I’m coming out.” Rainbow Dash replied, getting out of the changing room. She now wore a blue and sparkly top and bottom, carrying with her colorful towel.
“Wow! You look cute, Rainbow Dash.” Juniper complimented, which made Rainbow Dash blush. “So how are you going to impress him?”
“I’ll go up on the diving board, and try to jump into the water.” Rainbow answered.
Twilight sighed. “Don’t tell me you're still going to win him over?”
Juniper then tried to explain to Twilight about Rainbow’s problem. “Twilight, It’s okay. I know I’m suppose to make friends, but I’m actually helping Rainbow Dash. You and her are my friends as well, and she told me that she needs me before she changed into her swimsuit. In my opinion, she might have a chance with Tim.”
“Juniper... I still want you to make friends. I mean, do you think your father will be happy that you helped someone get a boyfriend? He wants you to do something that centers around you, not Rainbow Dash.” She turned around at Rainbow Dash. “No offence.”
Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow in disgust going back to the changing room to change again, but Juniper stopped her.
“When we’re done with this, we can get back to making more friends when we still have a lot of time.”
“Okay, fine. But, I’m not sure if this can work.” Twilight replied. Once she and the girls got out of the girls room, Rainbow luckily caught sight of Tim and his crew swimming around in the pool. Indeed, she blushed heavily after seeing his wearing yellow trunks, yet her eyes were fixated onto his exposed chest.
“Oh my gosh! He’s so...!” Rainbow Dash gazed with glistening eyes.
“So, what’s the plan?” Juniper asked.
“You tell him that you forget to bring your swimsuit and that I need lessons on swimming.”
“I thought you were going to jump off the diving board first...” Twilight caught on.
“I’m not prepared, okay? I just need more time until I’m ready...” Rainbow replied.
“Okay, but you are probably not going to jump are you?” Twilight commented. Just then, Juniper walked up to Tim, who was helping girls on how to swim.
“Hey Juniper, why aren't you in your swimsuit?” Tim asked.
“I forget to bring my swimsuit,” she said before pointing to Rainbow. “But, Rainbow Dash has her swimsuit. Can she join?”
“Sure. I think she’s more of an athletic to go swimming with us.” Tim nodded.
“Rainbow Dash, are you coming?” She called.
Rainbow Dash then appeared out of the entrance and approaching the pool, feeling a little embarrassed at Tim smiling at her swimsuit.
“You know you really hot with your swimsuit on Rainbow.” Tim eyed at her swimsuit before looking at her face.
“Oh, well you look way hotter when you swim.” She blushed in front of him.
“So do you want to hit the caves, or you just want to stick around here?”
“Ready for this?” he said to Rainbow. She nodded as they got into the pouring water, resulting in getting their hairs wet. She laughed after feeling the rush alongside, so much that she hugged him tightly.
“That was amazing!!” Rainbow exclaimed with a smile. It was then they made their way to the caves. She started taking in the view, feeling astounded at the glowing lights around it. One of the caves had an wide opening that was large enough for to only see the beautiful outside view of Rainbow Falls.
“This is the view of Rainbow Falls. Is it amazing?” Tim took a good gaze at it himself. Rainbow didn’t think that she was way high in the caves, which really surprised her.
“Wow! This is how high we are? This is insane!” Rainbow spoke in surprise.
“I know. I always go up here when people go on a field trip here so I can show it to some of my friends.” he replied. He also got on top of one of the rocks before asking for her hand. Then, he lifted her up to the same platform as him as they looked through another cave opening, which gave them a view of the cave they just entered. Below was Twilight and Juniper, who then saw her in an instant.
“Hey, Rainbow Dash!” Twilight called out. Rainbow heard the voice and saw her friend from below.
“How your doing!?” Rainbow shouted excitedly.
“Don’t you know that your suppose to jump off the diving board when you up there?” Juniper called, pointing up.
“What!?” Rainbow’s eyes widened in shock. She realized that there was a diving board on the edge of the pool, inches above her reach. She turned back, and was about to descend, when Tim blocked her path.
“Sorry, but we can’t go back. The rules state that if you get into the cave, you’d have to jump off the diving board above us.”
“Are you kidding me?” Rainbow was in a state of pressure.
“You’ll be okay. We're not that high...” Tim tried to calm her down. Rainbow tried to think of something but she realized for a second, realizing that she had no choice. She looked up, halfway scared of how high she is from where she recently stood. She gulped before approaching the end of the board, standing on the back end. Of course, she did gain experience in swimming class, but diving was just another story beyond her mind.
“Are you going to jump or not?” Twilight shouted.
“I will in a second.” Rainbow answered nervously. Rainbow took a few steps until she was standing at the far edge. Then, she took a deep breath before jumping onto the board. By the time she reached her peak, she finally jumped forward. Eyes closed and without the use of her powers, she dived into the water and made her way up without a scratch.
“Wow! That was a decent dive!” Juniper commented, looking at the water. At the same time, Rainbow swam her way to the edge and got out.
“Well, this was really awesome for a first dive.” she said. Just then, she turned and saw Tim making his way down from the diving platform. By the time he was in the air, he brought his whole body into a ball and made a big splash. Rainbow was absolutely impressed with him, and couldn't help but gaze into his body as he was getting out.
“Man, I don't know what to do…I want him...” she thought.
“That was the greatest time of our lives!” Rainbow shouted. She and the others got back into their clothes, despite their hair being wet still after an hour of being in the waterfalls. Of course, only she had a thrill of her life besides the first time she dived in from high up, and without using her powers, no less.
“But Rainbow, we didn’t swim at all.” Juniper uttered.
“I know, but I don’t want my ego to get the best of me.” Rainbow retorted. Suddenly, Tim, who was waiting outside, walked up to Juniper.
“So, is there anything you want to do? The park is about to close in three hours.” he asked.
“No, thanks. But, is it okay that I can get your phone number?” she asked.
“Why not?” he shrugged. Rainbow was shocked that he gave Juniper his phone number, unaware that Twilight saw her reaction.
“Rainbow, you’ve been thinking about him way too much. Besides, we should be helping Juniper make friends.”
“Well, she made one friend already.” Rainbow pointed at Juniper, who was writing down TIm’s phone number.
“Well... yeah. But, that kind of is besides the point.” Twilight folded her arms. Rainbow was unlucky, but she refused to be mean to Juniper, given the credit she deserved for just making one friend at the most. She had an idea herself, but she had to talk to Juniper first, despite the fact that she saw Tim first, despite the blushes.
“Hey, is it okay that Juniper and I go to the rainbow aquarium? She really wants to know more about underwater sea creatures.” Rainbow tried to play along.
Twilight chimed in quickly. “It’s okay Tim. Juniper, we’re going to be in our apartment, so you'll know where to find us when you're done.”
“Thanks.” Juniper answered and waved. She and Tim then made their way to the rainbow aquarium. As for Twilight and Rainbow, they both headed back for their apartment. Rainbow lost the opportunity to tell her something in the process, which slowed her down. Then again, Twilight had to call her back for the sake of leaving Juniper to making a friend.
Conversations Back At The Apartment
“So far, Juniper only made one friend, who happens to be your crush. How are we going explain to Tim that you have a crush on him?” Twilight exclaimed.
“I don’t know, okay?!” She shouted at Twilight. “Look, I’m sorry that my feelings was getting in the way a lot-”
“Actually, it’s kind of over the limit!” Twilight cut her off. “As harsh as it may seem, you've been hanging out with him first glance since you met him. Just because you only told him to go for a swim doesn’t change anything.”
Rainbow tried to face the facts, but getting over someone she fantasized for most of the time would be the last thing on her mind. “Twilight, I know we just got here today, and we all argued to help Juniper, but it’s not my fault. I didn’t know that we’ll going to come straight somebody who’s… really hot”! But, even if he knows that I have a crush on him, he would be nice enough to understand.”
“I still think it was all of his mature way of being nice to you.” Twilight suggested. “Sure, I did had a crush on Timber, but when someone has a crush on him of her, the person needs to accept that he wants to be your girlfriend… or boyfriend.”
“No offense, but aside of Timber, Tim is stronger and more nicer,” Rainbow retorted.
Twilight rolled her eyes. “You have no idea what Timber is like, do you?”
Rainbow had to explain. “Okay! I get that girls like us have different opinions, but my point is he isn’t like the boys at school. The boys are more different, and they know that we have magical powers, but Tim doesn't. I just think a place like Rainbow Falls won’t accept that we are different, so I really want to make sure Tim won’t know that we have powers.”
Twilight gave the comment some thought. “Well, I guess you do have a point. But, still - ”
Rainbow cut Twilight to ask her for a favor. “I’ll talk to Juniper about this. When Tim and Juniper are done for the day, can you text them that Tim can come over? Please?”
“You're still refusing to tell Tim about your crush on him? Do you even think Juniper is going to be okay with this?” Twilight asked in concern.
Rainbow begged. “Can you please let me take care of my crush problem? After all of this, we can go back to helping Juniper, I promise.”
“Okay, fine. I’ll text Juniper.” Twilight took the time to think about Rainbow’s idea but soon she expect. She then pulled out her cell phone and started to text.
After Juniper and Tim left the park at closing time, they finally made their way Rainbow’s apartment. Once Juniper knocked on the door, Rainbow opened on the other end.
“Juniper.” she said turned to Tim. “Oh, and hello... Tim.”
“Nice to meet you again, Rainbow Dash.” he greeted as they both came in, but Rainbow stopped Juniper for a second.
“Rainbow, I did saw Twilight’s text, but I feel exhausted.” Juniper uttered.
“I know, but can we talk outside?” Rainbow insisted. Juniper started to get a little annoyed, but she had to follow Rainbow.
“Tim, would you mind waiting in our apartment? I have to talk to Rainbow Dash.” she said to Tim, who sat down by the table.
“No problem.” he answered. Rainbow Dash and Juniper went outside by the shades and sat down on the benches.
“Rainbow... I know that you really need my help with Tim, but it’s six o'clock PM! And, I’m hungry... and tired.” She blinked, trying to keep her eyes open.
“I know, but can you do me this one huge favor, please?” Rainbow asked pleadingly.
Juniper was still unsure about what to say to Tim about Rainbow being his crush, of course. It took Juniper minutes to think, but patience has ran a little thin.
Juniper sighed. “Rainbow, we just got here this morning after a fun day to make some friends for myself. Now, since Tim came in, things were getting rather difficult. Like, something has messed up your head.”
Rainbow Dash felt disappointed. “Juniper, you've gotta understand. This is the first time I ever felt someone that changed me from the inside. I mean, I’m mostly single when I’m always with my friends, and boys at my school always try to impress me. Tim, on the other hand, doesn't try that because…
“Because?” Juniper tilted her head.
Rainbow continued. “He’s smart, handsome, and it shows that he’s likely to not be afraid of girls like me having a crush on him. And yes, I am aware that your friends with him too, but I’m sure that we can work this out.”
“Rainbow, I never made him as a friend. I only hang out with him just to “hang out with him”. Also, I side with you sometimes because I was trying to be a nice friend by helping you. But as soon as you get closer to him, it gets harder for
“How is this the hardest thing for me to do?” Rainbow sighed.
Just then, Juniper placed a hand on her shoulder, offering sympathy. “It’s okay that your having a crush. It never ruined anything, or hurt anybody. Plus, you also paid my flight to get here. And, even if Tim isn't my friend, though he is, if he’d tell me that your his girlfriend, I won’t have a problem with that because girlfriends and boyfriends always spend time together.
So, if you really want me to talk to him, then I’ll do it. “
“Oh, Thank you Juniper!” Rainbow hugged her, despite the tears in her face. She was surprised that Juniper had to get out of her way to help her even the odds.
“Can you tell him to meet me in front of the amusement park? I want to have some privacy with him.”
“Okay, but I’m not sure about entering the park. It closes in Twenty five minutes.” Juniper warned.
“Maybe he has keys to enter since he works there?”
“I'll see about it.” She replied before heading back to the apartment. Juniper headed back into her apartment with Tim and
“Hi, Juniper. Where’s Rainbow Dash?” Tim asked.
“She’s going back to Rainbow Falls.” Juniper answered.
“But the park is going to be closed at seven o'clock. She can’t come in at that time.” Tim advised.
“Maybe you can use your keys and invite her in.” Juniper thought, trying to fill in on what Rainbow was trying to pull off.
“Tim, you should probably have a talk with her.” Twilight suggested. Tim was still sitting down by the table, being patient for most of the time. Just then, Juniper sat by the table.
“I know we haven't hung out for awhile and we just met today, but here’s the thing: Rainbow Dash has pretty much a crush on you.”
“Really?” He responded in light shock.
“But, she thinks that you're really not into girls. When we met you, Twilight doubted that you will ever accept her as a best friend, let alone Rainbow’s girlfriend.”
However, he had different opinions about girls like Rainbow.
“Actually, I never got into girls because I’m too shy.” Twilight and Juniper’s eyes wide widened.
“Wait a minute... You didn’t think that Rainbow was being like other girls who feel about you?” Twilight asked.
Tim took some time to think of it, despite the surprise. “Well, I never had a girlfriend in my life, and she was being very nice to hang out with me. But, I was trying to be smart and brave, just to show everyone that I’m not shy. I just think girls are too hard to win over, and the reason why I’m actually more popular is because I want to stay out of this whole “deep relationship” thing.”
Juniper was completely speechless after hearing everything from Tim’s words, but she had an idea. “Look... I’m saying this because there’s something you need to understand: I've seen girls hit on you because you're absolutely sexy. Now, what I’m saying isn’t flirting, but it's when you….. Took off….”
“Oh… my water shirt?” Tim figured out evidently how he kept getting hit on by girls.
“Yes... and, not to be a flirt or anything, but she has been eyeing your body since she saw you in the dunk tank.” She
“It’s because you have to be strong to swim faster or doing something like make stunts during a show as a swim trainer. It's not like we have the will to just impress girls with our bodies.” Tim addressed.
Twilight decided to sit down by Tim and Juniper and chime in. “I know it’s very hard to avoid on what your doing, but girls will always go Gaga over stuff like that. Rainbow never met someone like you before. And like Juniper said, we may not be friends yet because we just met today. But, if you can talk to Rainbow, we can move on afterwards.”
Tim took his time to think about Twilight’s advice, but he also had second thoughts on how he attracted Rainbow, among any girl near him. The reason for him being slightly conceited when it came to girls was as because he'd thought that just one serious relationship would tie him down. On top of that, he would have to explain why he was at the amusement park after hours.
“It’s been a nice day since we met today. But right now, I feel like something is telling me that she’s desperate for something. Then again, I think that she’s cool, but at the same time, I’m really scared to tell her about what I think.”
