Afternoon at Sunset's

After spending some time in the human world and helping save Sunset and her friends from Juniper's magical mirror, the time had come for Starlight to say good-bye, "I'm so sad to leave. I haven't really had the chance to get to know all of you."

It was at that moment that Sunset's book notified her she had a message from Twilight. It read, "Dear Sunset, some lessons are better learned in action and you girls are great teachers. Starlight should stay for a few more days, enjoy the premiere!"

Everyone began to cheer and Starlight chuckled, "Think you can focus on the positive?"

Sunset replied, "Whatever happens is going to happen, I just gotta live in the moment, right?"

Starlight enthusiastically replied, "Right!"

After receiving the good news that she could stay in the human world for a few days, Starlight was happy but did have one concern, where would she wind up staying? Despite not having been there long, Starlight already thought of Sunset as a friend and figured she could ask her, "Sunset, I don't mean to be a bother but do you think I could stay with you while I'm here?"

Sunset was thrilled with her question as she normally didn't have anyone to keep her company at home. She threw her arms around her and exclaimed, "Of course you can Starlight! It is going to be so nice to have someone to talk to at night for a change."

Starlight couldn't help but laugh over the comment, "You mean not be like Princess Luna is every night and have to talk to yourself?"

The last time Sunset had been in Canterlot was before Luna had returned from the moon so she asked, "Not be like Princess Luna? Who is Princess Luna?"

Starlight was shocked that her new friend had no clue who Princess Luna was. She gave her a shocked look and asked, "You know, Princess Celestia's sister?"

Sunset continued to look confused and then it hit Starlight, Sunset left Equestria prior to Luna's return. She continued, "Perhaps we can go over that at another time." She looked down at her watch and continued, "So what time is the premiere?"

Sunset replied, "Oh it is at 1900 but I think we should go home and get ready so we can meet our friends at 1830."

Starlight agreed and Sunset lead her to her house. While they were headed there, Sunset grabbed a hold of Starlight's hand causing her to wonder what was going on but then remembered that earlier she had her arm around her, she figured that it was just something that human friends do.

Once they arrived at Sunset's, Starlight began to look around in curiosity at some of the things in there. While the castle did have a stove, there were a couple of things that looked completely unfamiliar to her. She headed into the kitchen, pointed at the microwave and asked, "Sunset, what is this thing and what does it do?"

At first Sunset found the question rather silly but then realized that Starlight had never even seen a microwave, nor had she likely seen many of the appliances in her house. She replied, "It is a microwave. It cooks food much more quickly than a stove because it uses radiation."

Starlight asked, "You mean something like ultraviolet radiation?"

Sunset replied, "Sort of but this radiation is much more powerful."

Starlight said, "Ok." She then headed into the living room and saw another thing that they did not have in Equestria. She pointed at it and asked, "And what is that thing?"

Sunset replied, "It is a TV, it is what we use to entertain ourselves."

Starlight couldn't help but wonder how staring at a black screen would be entertaining and Sunset could tell it. She pointed to the couch and ordered, "Sit down and I'll show you how it works."

Starlight sat down and Sunset plopped down next to her. She turned the TV on and an old rerun of a sitcom that Sunset liked was on. She quickly got absorbed in it while Starlight sat there and found it rather boring but she didn't want to say anything to Sunset because she was worried that she may have to go home if she did. After the show was over Sunset asked, "Starlight, what did you think of it?"

Starlight replied, "Well, it was ok but I just didn't find it all that entertaining."

A new episode of a popular talk show came on and it did not take long for Starlight to get into it. On the show it had mothers bringing potential fathers in for paternity tests and she couldn't believe how the guests were behaving. She broke down laughing, "People seriously act like this and they seriously don't know who the father of their child is?" Her laugh became harder, "This would never happen in Equestria, never!"

Sunset also found the show entertaining but knew that the ramifications of the tests were nothing to laugh about. She replied, "Starlight, there are some humans out there who behave a lot different than the ponies in Equestria do." She paused for a minute before continuing, "Some people just sleep around a lot."

Starlight had a confused look on her face and asked, "You mean they sleep in different places?"

Sunset couldn't help but chuckle a bit over how naive Starlight was. She replied, "No, they'll have sex with a lot of different people. That is how the women get pregnant and don't know who the father of their child is."

Starlight gagged, "Ugh, how could anypony, I mean anyone stand to do that?"

Sunset could understand why Starlight was so naive when it came to things but really wanted to end the questions. She replied, "It's just human nature, well with some people."

Starlight nodded letting her friend know that she understood. Before they knew it, it was time to head to the cinema to catch the movie. Sunset pulled her up by the hand and said, "Well let's get going, I don't want to be late."

Tardiness was one thing that Starlight herself loathed so she shook her head in agreement. Like she did when they headed to her house, Sunset held Starlight's hand as they headed to the cinema. While Starlight still found it kind of odd, she did admit to herself that Sunset holding her hand felt good, very good.

Evening at the Cinema

When they arrived at the cinema, Sunset's friends couldn't help but notice that she and Starlight were holding hands, which is something that they had not seen Sunset do in ages. The first one to bring it up was Rarity, "Sunset darling, I'm surprised to see you holding hands with her, you've almost never held anyone's hand like that!"

Applejack added, "Yeah, even when you were with that Flash Sentry feller you never held his hand like that." She motioned for Sunset to come closer and whispered, "Sunset, Ah know it isn't any of my business but why are you holding hands with her?"

Sunset held her head down to where no one else could see and blushed, "Well, I kind of have a crush on her, I don't know what it is but I feel a real sense of attraction to her."

Applejack was shocked because not only did she think Sunset only liked guys but also that they barely knew one another. She whispered, "Sunset, y'all barely know one another and what does she think about you two holding hands?"

Sunset whispered back, "This is her first time in the human world so I don't think she has even given it that much thought. She may think it is just something human friends do."

Applejack whispered, "Well alright, Ah just wouldn't want her to think anything that may not be true." She motioned for Sunset to return to Starlight and continued, "Well ladies, shall we go and buy our tickets?"

They all began cheering as they headed in to buy their tickets but Starlight realized something, she didn't have any money. She turned to Sunset and asked, "Sunset, how am I supposed to get in to the premiere? I don't have any money!"

Sunset put her arm around her and replied, "Don't worry Starlight, I was planning on buying our tickets."

Starlight was relieved but wasn't exactly sure as how to react to Sunset putting her arm around her so she put her arm around her as well. Sunset gave her a smile and they approached the ticket counter where they were greeted by Juniper. Despite her earlier apology, she was still nervous that Sunset and her friends were angry with her. She nervously asked, "Oh hi, here to see the premiere?"

Sunset replied, "Yes, two tickets please."

Sunset bought their tickets and they headed off to the concession stand. Starlight looked at the prices and thought that if the cost of things in the human world were comparable to how they are in Equestria, that they were horribly expensive. She gasped, "Sunset, you don't have to get me anything because it is all so expensive."

Sunset replied, "Don't worry about it Starlight, get what you want."

Starlight was looking at some of the things other people were ordering, especially the beverages. When she saw the pop some people were buying, she couldn't help but be turned off by it. She said, "You know, I think maybe I'll just get some water and popcorn."

Water was a bit cheaper than the pop and Sunset thought that maybe she was simply ordering it because of the cost. She suggested, "Why don't you get some pop, it tastes good."

Starlight still couldn't help but cringe at the dark brown liquid. She replied, "That's alright Sunset, I think I'd rather have water."

Sunset sighed in frustration but remembered how Twilight cringed at it the first time she came as well. Once they received their concessions, they headed to watch the movie. There were still a ton of empty seats and Starlight asked, "So where are we going to sit?"

Sunset asked in return, "Would you rather sit to where you could get out right away if you had to or would you rather sit in the middle?"

Starlight replied, "I would rather sit to where if I had to get out immediately if I had to."

Sunset grabbed her hand and led her to two seats on the outside. Sunset sat in the second seat while Starlight sat right on the very edge. She saw some people were sitting right in the very middle and couldn't help but wonder how anyone could stand to be so closed in. Soon they were joined by their friends who were shocked to see them sitting right there on the outside. Pinkie asked, "Sunset, what are you doing sitting all the way out here?"

Rainbow added, "Yeah, normally we all sit in the middle!"

Sunset replied, "Well Starlight said that she would feel more comfortable if she could get out right away if something happened."

Starlight smiled and nodded as Sunset continued, "Why don't all of you just sit here by me."

Her friends preferred to sit right in the middle and hoped that they could perhaps change Starlight's mind since they weren't fond of an off-center view. Rarity asked, "Starlight darling, we all like to sit in the middle. Would sitting there just this one time be ok?"

Sunset looked over and gave her a smile. She realized that this would likely be the only time she would do this so she reluctantly agreed to. As they headed further in Starlight began to become more nervous but thought to herself, "Come on Starlight, you've stole cutie marks, you've traveled through time and you saved Equestria from Chrysalis so this shouldn't be too hard!"

Once they got sat down Sunset looked over at Starlight and saw a nervous look on her face. She asked, "Are you ok Starlight?"

Starlight was already feeling fairly nervous focusing on all the what if scenarios that could happen but wanted to appear strong. She replied, "Yeah, I'm ok."

Sunset wrapped her arm around her prompting Starlight to do the same. She was able to reassure her that nothing would happen and soon the lights dimmed as the movie was beginning. Starlight couldn't help but watch in awe as the film began to play on the screen. Despite wanting to ask Sunset how that worked, she could hear other people being told to shush so she decided against it.

As the movie progressed, most everyone in the theater became absorbed in it but Starlight just couldn't get into it. It was a romantic comedy and Starlight never had been much for romance whether it was in real life or in books. She put her free hand over her mouth and yawned. Sunset saw this and whispered, "I know it isn't very exciting but I'm certain it will....."

Sunset was interrupted by someone in the row behind them, "Shhhh."

Sunset went silent but Starlight got her message. Once a more romantic part of the movie came along Sunset began to massage Starlight's shoulder and she wasn't sure exactly why she was doing that but decided to reciprocate the action. Like it had been with the hand holding, Starlight wasn't sure why Sunset was doing that but she did think it felt wonderful and thought to herself, "If this is what friendship here is all about, I'd think everyone would be friends with each other!"

Once the credits began to roll and the lights came back on, everyone got up and began to leave. Once they were outside Sunset asked, "Starlight, what did you think of the film?"

Starlight had not payed a ton of attention to the movie as her attention was mainly focused on Sunset's hand holding and shoulder massaging so she decided to lie, "Oh it was alright." She held her head down and blushed, "But I'm going to admit, that shoulder massage you gave me did feel really good."

Sunset gave her a smile and replied, "Well the massage you gave me felt good too."

It was getting late and not only were Starlight and Sunset tired, but so were their friends. Once they gathered together Sunset yawned, "I don't know about all of you but I'm getting tired. I'd love to stay and talk but I really want to get some rest."

Starlight yawned, "I know how you feel, when you're not used to sitting in the dark, it is tiring."

Rarity said, "Well we were really hoping that we could go to the cafe and chat but we understand that you want to go home and get some re...."

Sunset grabbed Starlight's hand and replied, "Well thanks for understanding but both Starlight and I want to get some rest." She turned to Starlight and asked, "Shall we?"

Starlight replied, "Yeah, I'm really tired and some sleep sounds really good."

As they headed off in the other direction, hand in hand, Sunset's friends couldn't help but wonder what was going on with her. Rainbow was the first to say anything, "What is up with her, she is never in this big of a hurry to get home."

Rarity added, "And her holding hands with her, she wasn't even that affectionate with Flash Sentry when they were dating!"

Pinkie continued, "Yeah and did you see Sunset giving Starlight a shoulder massage during the movie?"

Applejack, despite likely knowing why Sunset has been behaving the way she was around Starlight simply decided to make a suggestion, "You know, this may sound sort of odd but y'all don't think maybe Sunset has a crush on Starlight do you?"

Rainbow broke down laughing, "That's a good one AJ, I don't think Sunset would have a crush on another girl!"

Fluttershy, who had been more quiet than normal suggested, "Well maybe there is just something about Starlight that she likes."

It was all Applejack could do not to say anything, especially since Fluttershy's suggestion was correct and she wanted to change the topic. She suggested, "Well ladies, since Sunset headed home, think we should head to the cafe?"

They all agreed in unison but most of them still couldn't help but wonder why Sunset was being so affectionate towards a girl she barely knew and likely had no clue that everything she was doing were her ways of saying that she had a crush on her.

A Hot and Stormy Night

Getting Ready for Bed

Once Starlight and Sunset got home, it was obvious that Sunset was in more of a rush to get to bed than Starlight was. She was already rushing up the stairs while Starlight was heading up much more slowly. She heard Sunset yell, "Are you coming Starlight?"

Starlight replied, "Yes, I'm coming." When she got upstairs she only saw one room with a light on and headed towards it. When she entered the room she saw Sunset changing into her pajamas and bolted out. She gasped, "Sorry Sunset, I didn't know you'd be changing."

Sunset replied, "It's alright, you can come in."

Starlight seemed a bit nervous to go in while Sunset was changing. When she headed in again Sunset had her bottoms on but still just had her bra on on top. Starlight stood with her back facing her and she continued, "Sunset, we're friends and we're both girls so you don't need to look away like that."

Starlight turned around and noticed that Sunset still hadn't put her top on and couldn't help but stare and blush. Sunset saw this and couldn't help but blush herself. After a couple of awkward minutes of silence Starlight asked, "Sunset, do you have a guest room or will I be sleeping on the couch?"

Sunset replied, "I have a spare room but it is just for storage and I don't want you sleeping on the couch."

Starlight asked, "Well where....."

Sunset interrupted, "You can just sleep in my bed with me."

This was something that Starlight did not expect. She gasped, "What? You want me to sleep in your bed with you? But won't you need your space?" She cast her gaze at Sunset's bed and noticed that while it wasn't small, it wasn't exactly that big either. She continued, "Your bed isn't all that big."

Sunset replied, "Starlight, I insist, just sleep in my bed. It will be far more comfortable, alright?"

Starlight replied, "Alright, I really appreciate this."

Starlight took her shoes off and sat down on the bed but Sunset realized something, she realized that Starlight did not have any night clothes. She walked to where she was right in front of Starlight and asked, "Are you going to sleep in your clothes or....."

Starlight replied, "Sunset, these are all I have! You don't exactly get a spare set of clothes when you come through the portal."

Sunset snickered, "I know, I know, I've came through it before." She began to dig in her dresser and found a pair of pajama shorts and tossed them to her. She suggested, "How about you try mine on?"

Starlight wasn't overly sure about it but figured that if they fit, they would be more comfortable than the jeans she was wearing. Much to her delight, they fit her perfectly but she did have one question, "Do you have a top I can borrow too?"

Sunset still was just walking around with just a bra on on top and suggested, "You know Starlight, you could just go topless."

Starlight was shocked by the suggestion and it made her fairly uncomfortable. She replied, "Well I would really feel more comfortable if I had a shirt of some sort on. It just feels weird sitting here without any kind of shirt on."

Sunset sat next to her, put her arm around her and suggested, "I know it feels weird to you but just give it a chance. If you still feel uncomfortable after laying down for a while then I'd suggest you get a top on."

It was a bit warm in Sunset's room so Starlight reluctantly agreed to her suggestion. Once Sunset turned off the light, Starlight laid down at the edge of the bed facing out like she did in Equestria. Sunset couldn't help but notice this and asked, "Starlight, you don't have to sleep right on the very edge of the bed." She snickered a bit, "I don't bite!"

Starlight replied, "I know, this is just how I sleep back in Equestria in the event I have to get out of bed in a hurry."

Sunset sighed, "Ok, I just don't want you to be uncomfortable or maybe fall out of bed."

Starlight was getting very tired and just wanted to get some sleep. She replied, "Don't worry, I won't." She let out a loud yawn and continued, "Goodnight Sunset, sleep tight."

Sunset replied, "You too. Sweet dreams Starlight."

It did not take long for Starlight to fall asleep but Sunset just couldn't. She couldn't fall asleep with the girl she had so quickly developed a crush on laying in the same bed as her. While she wasn't going to count on it, she was hoping that something would happen to cause her to see how she truly felt.

Heating Up the Night

Two hours after Starlight had fallen asleep and Sunset was finally able to get to sleep, a huge boom rocked the house causing Sunset to scream and wake up. It too woke up Starlight but it did not scare her. She sat up and asked, "Sunset, what is wrong? Why did you scream?"

A bright flash of light came from behind the curtain along with another loud boom. Sunset again shrieked and then it hit Starlight, Sunset was scared by the thunder. As more and more lightning flashed and more thunder boomed, Sunset began to breathe heavier so Starlight got up and turned the light on. She got on the bed next to Sunset, put her arm around her and suggested, "How about we stay up and talk for a bit, maybe that will calm you down some."

Sunset replied, "Thanks Starlight, I would really appreciate it."

At first, outside of the heavy rain that had begun to fall and the thunder, there was an awkward silence as the two were looking at one another intently. Starlight felt herself being drawn to her friend like a fly is attracted to honey. She pulled Sunset closer to her and moved in for a kiss. Sunset too felt herself drawn to Starlight and before they knew it, their lips met.

Sunset replied, "It sounds good to me."

Despite having been in the human world for quite some time, Sunset had never experienced this before and Starlight never imagined that such pleasure even existed. Sunset added, "Well, we really can't..."

It then hit Rarity, she realized why they were so clingy and were blushing. She gasped, "Did you two eat....?"

Pinkie knew what Rarity was talking about and gagged, "Ewwww....why would you eat that when you could eat something sweet?"

Fluttershy had been listening in and couldn't help but wonder what it was they ate that would make Pinkie gagged. She turned to Rarity and asked, "What did they eat?"

Rarity pointed down towards her womanhood, causing Fluttershy to faint and Rainbow to gag. The only one who didn't have that much of a negative reaction to it was Applejack, "Sunset, Ah know you two have grown pretty close. Did you really?"

The conversation had become incredibly uncomfortable for both Sunset and Starlight, so uncomfortable that they didn't feel like they could hang around for much longer. Sunset continued to keep her face buried in Starlight's hair but Starlight held her head up and said, "Right now isn't the best time to talk about that."

Sunset knew that once Starlight returned to Equestria, her friends would probably ask her about it over and over until she finally broke and decided to stop that dead in its tracks. She pulled her face out of Starlight's hair and added, "Look, I'm sure you all have your own thoughts on what happened but like Starlight said, this isn't the best time to talk about it." She raised her voice and continued, "It will never be a good time to talk about it."

Her friends could understand that but they still wanted to know one thing. Applejack, despite knowing about Sunset's crush, wanted to know if it were anything more at that point. She asked, "Sunset, Starlight, Ah know something happened and know y'all are clinging to one another. Is something going on between you two?"

Sunset looked at Starlight and gave her a nervous look because she wasn't exactly sure what their status was. Starlight could tell that Sunset was nervous about saying anything so she decided that she would hopefully get them to not be so curious, "Well we are really close, I don't know what you'd call us but we're just really close."

Sunset added, "Look, I know you're all curious but it is like what Starlight said, we're close. We're definitely close friends but what we really are I'm not sure."

Her friends nodded realizing that that was the most they were going to get out of them. Sunset looked towards the door and finished, "Well we would love to stay and chat but we have some things we have to take care of." She pulled Starlight towards the door and continued, "Let's get back home, alright?"

Starlight replied, "That sounds like a plan to me."

Once they got out of earshot of the sweets' shop Starlight asked, "So do you think they bought what we said?"

Sunset replied, "I hope so." She gave Starlight a nudge and continued, "Let's just drop this for now and focus on what is important."

Starlight swatted her but and laughed, "Each other?"

Sunset swatted her back and smiled, "Yep, each other!"

Once they arrived at Sunset's they immediately headed up to her bedroom to clear their minds and unwind. Sunset felt truly happy being with Starlight but knew that eventually she would have to go home. Starlight too was enjoying her time with Sunset a lot yet another part of her did miss Equestria and especially missed what is such a big part of who she was, her magic.

Epilogue: Last Day/Return to Equestria

Last Morning Together

Three days had passed and the day for Starlight to return home had arrived. When they woke up Sunset seemed sad, very sad and Starlight knew that it was because she would be returning home that day. She embraced her and said, "Sunset, everything will be alright, it's not like we'll never see each other again."

Sunset returned the embrace and sighed, "I know but still, not having someone to hold me at night and simply be with all the time will be hard on me."

She would not admit it, especially to Sunset, she was really looking forward to going home and she wanted to try to speed up the process without her knowing that she wanted to leave and then it hit her, they could have one more get together with Sunset's friends and after that, she could head home. She suggested, "Sunset, what would you think about meeting up with your friends before I head home."

Sunset clearly looked disappointed that she brought up going home that quickly but agreed to her plan, "Yeah we could do that."

Starlight added, "And besides, the sweets' shop is on the way to the portal."

Sunset was surprised by how quickly Starlight was to get out of bed as for the past couple days, they had laid in bed until almost noon and it made her wonder what was up. She asked, "Starlight, what's the rush? The past couple days we stayed in bed for so long but you almost seem like you're in a hurry to get back home."

Starlight replied, "It's not that." Starlight felt like Sunset was already picking up what her true desires were but would be saved when her stomach growled loudly. She then continued, "It's just that I'm really hungry and some sweets sound really good."

Sunset's stomach too growled and she replied, "Yeah I guess some sweets sound good and besides, I'm pretty sure my friends are wondering what happened to us."

Starlight grabbed Sunset by the hand and they headed into the bathroom to take a shower. They both enjoyed their final shower together and engaged in the same activities that they had been but for Starlight, it seemed to be forever until they were finished and headed out to meet up with her friends.

One Final Meet-Up

Starlight was seriously hoping that they could hurry up, get to the sweets' shop, have a quick bite to eat and then get to the portal so she could get home but that was not what Sunset had in store for them. That morning it took Sunset a while longer than normal to get her hair brushed and the more paranoid part of Starlight was thinking that Sunset was doing that on purpose. After what seemed like forever, Sunset was finally ready to go and they headed off to the sweets' shop.

When they arrived they were clinging to one another like they were three days earlier. Her friends gave her curious smiles and the first to say anything was Rarity, "Sunset, Starlight darlings, where have you been the past three days?"

Sunset buried her face in Starlight's hair and blushed, "Well, we were at home just hanging out."

With the exception of Fluttershy, her friends gave them smiles and the one who seemed to be the most curious was Pinkie. She asked, "Sunset, you should have told me what you were going to do so that we could throw you a party!"

Sunset clung on to Starlight tighter and went silent as she had no desire to tell them what happened but Starlight knew that their questions were making Sunset uncomfortable. She replied, "What we did isn't something that people share with one another in public, or anywhere for that matter."

Despite their continued curiosity, they reluctantly dropped the issue. Once it was clear that their activities would no longer be the topic of discussion, Sunset and Starlight sat down to enjoy some treats with them. Other than knowing she came from the same place Sunset came from, Sunset's friends did not know much about Starlight and wanted to have a longer conversation with her.

The first to ask anything was Applejack, "So Starlight, Ah know you're from Equestria but what do you do there?"

Starlight replied, "Well I am currently, well I was, the student of Princess Twilight until I graduated after saving Equestria from Chrysalis."

Rainbow asked, "Who is Chrysalis?"

Starlight replied, "She is a changeling queen who tried to take over Equestria by having her subjects duplicate some of the most beloved ponies in Equestria." She cast her gaze at them more intently and continued, "And the odd thing is, five of the ones captured are a lot like the five of you and even carry the same names...."

Sunset interrupted, "Starlight, I don't know if I ever told you this or not but the reason they carry the same names and personalities is that this is a parallel world to Equestria."

Starlight asked, "Parallel world, what the hay is a parallel world?"

Sunset replied, "Basically everything is the same except that here we are humans and no one has magic."

Starlight asked, "So basically everyone here has the exact same personalities and everyone here is just a duplicate of a pony in Equestria?" She turned to Sunset and asked, "So have you ever ran into the copy of yourself here?"

Sunset replied, "No I haven't, I don't know where she is or if she even exists because I would think that she would have been a student at CHS."

While they knew that Starlight meant no harm, all the talk of the parallel world thing was bothering Sunset's friends. Applejack asked, "Ah don't know about y'all, but how about we talk about something else, something other than parallel worlds?"

Starlight was hoping that this would open the door to them being able to get going sooner so she replied, "Sounds good to me."

Despite them still being very curious about Starlight and wanting to know more about her, Starlight became a lot more vague in answering questions about her and finally after an hour of chatting and snacking Starlight suggested, "Well Sunset, shall we head to the portal so I can return to Equestria?"

Sunset had a look of sadness on her face as she replied, "Yeah, I'm sure Twilight is expecting you to be back before too long."

Starlight nodded and the two headed towards the portal. Starlight wasn't sure whether Sunset could read her emotions or not but with each passing moment she was wanting to hurry up, get home and be a unicorn again.

Saying Goodbye

As the two headed towards the portal, it seemed like Starlight was walking faster, pulling Sunset along rather than walking slowly and clinging to her like she had been. Once they arrived at the portal Sunset was going to find out why she was going so fast. She asked, "Starlight, it seems like you've been in a hurry all day and since we left the sweets' shop, we haven't been clinging together, you've been walking so fast you're just pulling me by the hand. Are you in a hurry to get back to Equestria?"

Starlight had hoped that she would be able to hide her building desire to hurry and get home but since she gave herself away, she figured she better be honest with Sunset. She replied, "Actually yes Sunset, I am." She saw Sunset's face drop and continued, "It isn't that I want to hurry up and get away from you. I really like you and enjoy spending time with you but my home is in Equestria and I'm really excited to get home and be with my friends."

Sunset asked, "I can understand that but we will be seeing each other again won't we?"

Starlight replied, "Of course we will. You should come to Equestria sometime and you can meet my friends."

Sunset asked, "Do you think they would like me?"

Starlight replied, "I'm sure they would." She became more excited as she continued, "And I have friends all over Equestria. I have friends in Ponyville, I have friends out in that town I used to run and I know you'd enjoy going with Trixie and I to the changeling kingdom to meet Thorax and the rest of the hive." Her excitement only grew further as she continued, "And you'll have to have some of Sugar Belle's treats! They are the tastiest things that I've ever had and I know you'll love them too!"

Sunset could tell that Starlight was obviously in a huge hurry to return to Equestria and didn't want to do too much to keep her. She pulled Starlight close and said, "Well Starlight, I guess this is goodbye for now." She gave her a tender kiss before continuing, "I have enjoyed everything we have done and I will always remember our moments but I do hope that you will come back and we can have more sensual moments."

Coming back was something that Starlight really didn't want to do ever again but didn't want to bring that up. She replied, "Yeah, we can have more sensual moments and maybe we could have sensual moments in Equestria too."

When she was in Equestria, Sunset had never engaged in any sorts of activities so she wasn't exactly sure how ponies could even do the same thing but didn't want to bring it up. She just gave her a nervous laugh, "Maybe."

Starlight turned her head towards the portal and Sunset knew that the time to let her go was now. She pulled her close, gave her one more kiss and continued, "Like I said earlier, I guess this is goodbye for now." She released Starlight and finished, "Oh and tell Twilight that I said hi."

Starlight replied, "Oh I will!" Before Sunset could say anything else, Starlight stepped into the portal and like it was on the way there, she found herself surrounded by swirling colors and could feel herself being transformed back into her natural form.

I'm home!

In her sleeping chambers Twilight was pacing back and forth impatiently waiting for Starlight to return home. When she saw a bright flash come from the mirror and Starlight fall down onto the floor, she was relieved. Twilight rushed to her, helped her up and asked, "Starlight, where have you been? You should have been home a couple hours ago!"

Starlight replied, "Well Sunset and I got held up. We were late to rise and then we spent some time at the sweets' shop talking with her friends." She gave her a nervous look and asked, "I hope you're not mad that I'm late returning home."

Twilight asked in return, "I'm not mad and speaking of Sunset, how did you two get along? Did you two do anything fun?"

Starlight had a guilty grin on her face, "Yeah, we spent a lot of time together." Her face turned red as an apple as she continued, "To be honest, most of the time while I was over there after you suggested I stay for a few more days was spent solely with her."

Twilight gasped, "Seriously? You two spent most of the time together with no one else?"

Starlight realized that she would wind up not only digging herself in a huge hole if she kept going into detail, but could get both her and Sunset in trouble. She replied, "Yeah, we did. I don't know what it is but her and I just seem to click, that is how good of friends we became."

Twilight gave her a smile, "Well I'm glad to see that you two were able to get along so well." Her curious side then took over, "So are you two planning on seeing each other again? Do you have any plans on returning to the human world?"

This was something Starlight had absolutely no desire to do and wanted to try and stay on topic but deflect the question. She replied, "Yes we do plan on seeing each other again and we were discussing her coming to Equestria and her joining me in meeting all my friends."

Twilight asked, "All of...."

Starlight interrupted, "Yes, all of them. I told her about my friends out in my old village, I brought up Trixie and I told her about Thorax and the changeling hive. She seemed pretty interested in meeting them."

Twilight suggested, "Well I'm not overly sure about Trixie and her getting along if you two are as good of friends as you claim you are because I know how Trixie is. I know she will boast about her being your closest and best friend and that could cause them to fight."

Starlight replied, "Perhaps you're right." She began to head for the exit and continued, "Speaking of Trixie, I'm going to go and see her. I'm sure she's probably missed me."

Twilight had hoped to talk more with Starlight about her trip but knew that she was in a hurry to see Trixie. She sighed, "Well alright, don't have too much fun."

Starlight replied, "Oh I won't!"

Starlight left Twilight's chambers and felt a sense of relief. She admitted to herself that she did feel a really close bond to Sunset and the things they did together were more pleasurable than she thought possible but what mattered the most to her was that she was back home. Now to her it was just a matter of finding excuses to avoid ever having to go to the human world ever again, even if it meant trying to persuade Sunset to stay in Equestria when she came to see her.

Alternate Ending: Last Day With Sunset?

Starlight replied, "Of course we will. You should come to Equestria sometime and you can meet my friends."

Sunset asked, "Do you think they would like me?"

Sunset really wasn't sure about that. She knew that Starlight wanted to return to being a pony badly, very badly. She knew that magic was literally part of her. There was one thing though, she knew that engaging in the types of activities they did over the past few days as a pony wouldn't be the same. Yes ponies have horns that they could give one another horn sex with but she loved it when Starlight would suck on her tits but as a pony, that wouldn't happen. Hands also made things so much easier.

Sunset knew that this was likely wrong to keep Starlight away from her friends but once Starlight began to approach the portal, she grabbed Starlight's shoulder and said, "Wait."

Starlight turned around and saw a look of sadness on Sunset's face. She had a feeling as to what Sunset was going to ask but wanted to hear it from her. She asked, "You want me to stay, don't you?"

Sunset thought that maybe if she pleaded with her, that she could get her to stay with her for a while longer, "Yes, I do. I want you to stay so bad." Her face became sadder as she continued, "I want to continue to be able to hold you at night, I want us to continue to shower together, I want us to continue to cuddle and just talk and I want us to continue to bond in the most intimate ways."

Starlight began to think about things as Sunset told her all that. Yes she did want to go home and become a unicorn again but she couldn't deny that the time she had spent with Sunset was truly wonderful. She couldn't deny that everything she had done with Sunset was so wonderful and that she had bonded with her, a lot and that she did want more of it, much more.

She gave her a smile and replied, "Alright Sunset, I can wait to go home. We'll just have to let Twilight know that I don't know when I'll be home." She gave her a kiss and continued, "You can tell her that we have bonded so much that right now we don't want to be apart!"

Sunset squeezed her tightly and exclaimed, "Thank you so much Starlight! Let's go home and I'll let Twilight know."

Once again the two clung to one another as they headed back to her place. As they headed home, Sunset began to imagine everything that the future might bring them. While she wasn't completely sure, she had a feeling that Starlight had much stronger feelings for her that she was letting on.

Once they got back to Sunset's place, she immediately grabbed the book. She opened it and suggested that Starlight be the one to contact her. Starlight agreed and wrote,

"Twilight,

I know I am probably late coming home but Sunset and I have been talking and both of us want me to stay longer. We have grown really close and while this may sound weird, I can't help but want to stay with her and she wants us to stay together for longer. Right now I'm not sure how much longer I will be staying but this will be up to both of us. I do hope you understand.

Starlight

Dear Princess Twilight,

It is me Sunset. I want to let you know that I asked Starlight to stay longer with me and she agreed. You see, she means an awful lot to me and I mean an awful lot to her too. Her time so far has been spent almost exclusively with me, that is how close we have grown and we simply aren't ready to part. I hope it is ok for her to stay longer.

Sunset let Starlight read what she wrote and she gave her a smile as Sunset closed the book and the message was sent. The two gave one another a smile and moved in for a kiss. Before their lips met though, Sunset's book began buzzing again. Sunset opened it up to read the following,

"Starlight,

Am I reading this right? Are you really wanting to stay in the human world with Sunset and not have any magic? If that truly is the case, I know that she must mean a ton to you because magic is literally what defines you. While I was hoping that you would be home already, I am perfectly fine with you staying there with Sunset for as long as you want to.

Sunset,

I must say I am very surprised. I'm not so much surprised about how you two have bonded but I am much more surprised that you have bonded with Starlight so much that she is willing to sacrifice her magic, her pony life span and everything else she has as a pony to stay with you. I'm betting you two are probably much more than close friends and if you haven't stated so yet, you should. I do have one favor to ask of both of you, please do come and visit sometime.

After reading the message the two embraced and began to kiss. Sunset was incredibly happy that the girl she had fallen for so quickly seemed to have done the same with her. Earlier in the day when it seemed that Starlight would be going home, that she would be all alone in her house once more. Now, it looked like she would have Starlight with her for quite some time, perhaps even forever.
