Legends say that there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Scientists claim that rainbows are in fact circular thus have no end. I'd like to think the two are not mutually exclusive.

Every year the best racers compete in many races throughout the year earning valuable prizes and circuit points. The best of the best are invited to the Celestial Cup. A best of one single elimination one ion one tournament where the flyers can prove their worth in a variety of different type of flight. Today marks the final of the Celestial cup and the final race of the greatest flyer who ever soared the skies of Equestria. 18 years of unblemished streak of victories. A life that is the envy of the world. But just how much said life had to be sacrificed to reach it?

I diverged from the cannon here and there but most of these differences can either be explained as stuff that will happen in the future or things that exist in the universe we just haven't seen them yet. Now in some cases both of these explanations are kinda sketchy but I didn't want to put the Alternate Universe tag on because in general this story is meant to be pretty cannon friendly.
