The Equestrian Warrior

I was just an average guy with an okay life but then I was put into a situation where my okay life changed into something that I would've never expected to happen. I was living a normal life until I was thrust into a world and put into many dangerous situations where it made my life more exciting. Oh, I haven't told you who I am yet I'll tell you who I am so that you will get to know me better.

My name is Tanner Martin and I am an eighteen-year-old guy and here is my story, let me warn you that it is not a happy one. My life started like any other I was born in a hospital and raised by two great parents and later when I was nines years old I got a little sister named Maya and she was the cutest thing I have ever seen when I first saw her and I was happy to know I was going to be a big brother.

While growing up I got to know another member of my family, they were my grandparents and I found out they are really nice. My grandfather's name Max, he is a very nice, smart, and hard working man, when he came over to my house he always taught me something that I learned in school when I was having trouble on something and always taught me something new. And my grandmother is named Rose, she is just as kind as my grandfather, she always made me gifts like cookies and other kinds of treats and one day I asked her to teach me how to cook and she agreed to teach me. I learned how to cook a bunch of different types of food in the grain, fruit, vegetable, meat, and dessert categories. She also taught me a secret family recipe to how to make chocolate chip cookies. My grandparents live on a farm where they get plenty of work done to sell their food products to those who are willing to buy them. Sometimes when I went to go visit my grandparents, I found out that my granddad was very talented in many instruments: guitar ( including electric guitar), trumpet, piano, violin, flute, and many more. My life was pretty good until something happened that changed everything.

One day when I was eleven years old and Maya was only two years, we were in the car with our parents when a flash was seen in front of the car and then out of nowhere we crashed into another car. I used myself as a shield to protect Maya so she wouldn't get hurt. It worked and she didn't get a scratch on her while I only got a few scratches from some shards of glass that wouldn't leave any scars. That was the good news, but the bad news I checked on our parents and saw they weren't moving so I kept checking on them and found out they were dead. I was devastated when I saw my parent's lifeless bodies not moving and when Maya saw this she kept crying, so I kept hugging her and she cried in my chest. It was the day we both lost our parents and it was horrible. A passing car saw this and called an ambulance to help with the bodies. We got to the hospital an hour later, I was sitting in a chair in the waiting room with Maya sitting right beside me holding my hand. She was holding it very tightly, but I knew she was still feeling sad about what just happened so I didn't mind. Later, our grandparents found out what happened because they were called by the hospital, when they got there they saw us, ran to us, checked on us to see if we were okay and then they hugged us and told us everything was going to be okay.

A week after that we had the funeral, all of our family was there and it was really hard to shed a few tears here and there, but my grandmother told me it was okay to shed tears, it shows that you truly cared for the ones who have passed on. I held onto my sister's hand to be there for like I should because I know she is going through a lot today. After the funeral, me and Maya were told by our grandparents that we will be living with them from now on and they will be putting us through school with the money in the bank that belonged to my parents since when we were called to hear the readings of the will and found that my sister and me were given the possessions of parents if we wanted to keep them and the money that they kept for us and will be given to us when we get to the age of eighteen. After that, we were trying to recuperate from what we've been through. My grandparents are trying to put on a brave face for us but I knew they were crying on the inside, Maya was still young but she was still sad that our parents were gone but I was there for her when she needs a shoulder to cry on, and me it was tough to process to get through my parent's sometimes I would talk to my grandparents about my parent's lives and other times I would spend some alone time on the hill under a tree looking at the sunset. I always thought that my parents were looking down on me in Heaven and they wouldn't want to sit down and feel sad, they would want me to be strong for myself and my family.

One day after sitting under the tree I was about to head inside, but I looked at the sunset one more time and said, " I'll be strong for you guys I promise." I then walked back to the house and went to bed.

It has been seven years since the day of my parent's death and I have to say that I am doing okay. When I went to school some of the other students heard about my parent's death and they were there for me when I needed someone to talk to while other just kept making fun of my eyes. Oh, I forgot to mention that I have different colored eyes, the left one was blue while the other one was green, some of the kids kept making of me but I didn't really care because they were being jerks. I was doing well growing up, I did plenty of hard work on the farm to earn some money and when I wasn't working I was hanging with my friends playing games or just hanging out. My sister was doing okay as well she made plenty of friends and always had fun with them When we hung out we always were in the living room watching T. V. we watched a lot of shows and movies that we enjoyed and sometimes she would ask me to play a song for her and I didn't refuse to play for her.

There was one show that she always watched and asked me to watch with her but I always refused to watch it. This show was called 'My Little Pony Friendship is Magic' I didn't really watch but I still respected the shows she watched and left her alone.

On the day I graduated from the high school, I decided to move out into an apartment in San Diego with one of my friends. Maya was a little sad to see me leaving, but I told her that if she ever wanted to talk just send a letter to me or ask one of our grandparents to take her to my apartment so we could talk. Our farm was just a couple of miles from my San Diego apartment so if they wanted to visit me they could.

One day, I was watching television in the living room then my roommate Paul walking in and asked me a question I wasn't expecting him to ask.

" A convention"? I asked

"Yeah, it's the annual San Diego where a bunch of people come around and dress up in costumes and have a good time," Paul answered.

"I don't know Paul, this convention doesn't really seem like my thing," I said trying to get out of this.

"Come on, Tanner. It's going to be fun and we'll be in awesome costumes from different shows and I know you want to do it too." He said with a sly smile on his face as if he knew my answer

I thought about it and it did sound kind of fun. I sighed and said " Fine Paul I'll go and dress up and hang out with all of you."

"Yes! I knew I was going to get you to join us, so the convention is on Thursday, we all will meet up here and go to the convention." He told me his plan as I was walking in the kitchen to get some water

"Okay," I said as I got a cup of water and was drinking it

"Hey, isn't your birthday day on Friday?" He asked curiously.

"Yeah, it is. And don't worry you don't have to get me anything, I also told my family that I don't really like making a big deal about it." I told him as I finished the water I just drank.

"Are you sure? I mean can get you something if you want me to. I mean it will be your birthday." He said with a concerned tone in his voice.

"I'm sure really, I'll be okay," I told him in a reassuring tone.

"Ok if you say so, so what will wear as your costume?" He asked curiously.

"I'm gonna think about it and you'll see on the day we go to the convention," I told him while I sit back on the couch.

"Okay, well it's getting late so I'm go sleep see you in the morning goof night." He said while walking to his room.

"Good night," I said while looking at the television.

When I heard his door close, I was flipping through channels and trying to come up with a costume and when I came up to a show I then came up with the costume that I was going wear.

It was Thursday and we were heading to the convention while riding in a car I was looking at every one of my friends and saw who was dressed what. One guy was dressed as Danny Phantom, A girl who dressed up as one of the blue creatures from Avatar, a couple who dressed of as two-night furies, and Paul was dressed up as one of the Shinigami from Bleach. I was dressed up as Ash Ketchum from Pokémon in the Kanto region, but I changed it with by removing the hat, wearing a red shirt with a black coat and brown pants and I also had a backpack with a first aid kit inside it because I was always prepared if someone was hurt.

We arrived at the convention and we enjoyed it pretty well, there were many costumes and they all were really good, some even commented on our costumes and we thanked them for their compliments. We walked around for a while until we decided to split up. I went my own way while everyone else was taking their own directions, I was walking for a while looking at a bunch of different things. As I was walking, I heard someone from the back of the of the room.

"Oh look at what we got here boys," a voice said

I look at the voice and saw three guys about as tall as me that were circled around a little girl that is dressed up as Amy Rose.

"Hey little girl you look a little troubled, is there any anything we could do to help you." One of the guys said

"N-N-No I'm alright, I don't need any help but thank you." She said as she tried to walk away but was cut off by one of the guys.

"Oh come on little cutie, we're doing you a favor, we are taking time out of our good day to help you but you don't want our help?" He asked with a little-annoyed tone in his voice as he and the other two were getting closer to her making her close her eyes

I kept seeing this and I was getting angry. I look at the girl and imagine Maya in that situation and I don't want to see her in a like this so I walked up to the three to stop this.

"Hey, the girl doesn't want your help so leave her alone!" I said in a demanding tone.

The three turned around and looked to see who it was while having anger on their faces and the girl opened her eyes with signs of hope on her face.

"Oh look here boys we got ourselves a hero here, why don't you go away and leave us to our business?" He and his friends chuckled at that and turned around.

"I'm sorry but I can't. It's clear that she doesn't want to be around you three and doesn't want your help to leave her alone before I make you," I said in a threatening tone.

They heard that and laugh and the guy in the center said "That's a laugh but lets humor this guy and get back to our business. I'll let you take care of this." He said that to the guy to his right.

"Okay, I'll find this quick." After he said that he walked towards me and now he was 3 feet from me "Any last words before I pound you into the ground." I said nothing but looked at him with an angry look "Ha, fine have it your way" He pulled back his fist and was about to attack me or so he thought.

When his fist was about to attack me I caught his fist and squeezed really hard and he was trying to get away but I was going to let go, after I caught his fist I pulled him past me and hit him on the back of the neck and knocked him out.

He now lies on the floor unconscious and now his friends look worried but that changed to anger one guy came towards me. One guy was going to try and hit me in the stomach but I dodged that attack and hit him in the face that knocked out. And came at me the same way and I hit in the face and knocked him out the same way I did the last guy. Now all three of the guys who were harassing the little girl is now on the floor unconscious. I was able to do this because when I was fourteen I took up some self-defense courses just to protect myself and everyone else.

After everything was over I called some security over here and explained everything to them. Security then took them out of the convention and now I was alone with the little girl looking seeing what I will do next. I walked towards her and gave her a gentle smile.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked with a reassuring smile

She came out of her trance and said: "Y-Yes I'm okay thank you, sir." She said with a gentle smile

I nodded "Good, well I'm going to be leaving now see yah." I was about to walk away but she grabbed my hand to stop me

"WAIT! Can... Can you help me?" She said

"But I thought you didn't need help."

She shook her head "I didn't want their help, but I can see you're a good person so could you help me?"

I sighed. "Okay, I'll help you. Now, tell what you need help with." I said with another smile.

She nodded "You see, I came here with my dad and brother, I was looking at a couple of booths and got distracted that's when I met with those and then you saved me." She finished explaining to me.

"Okay, what do your father and brother look like do they have costumes that we could find them in? I asked

"Yes, my dad is dressed up as dr. eggman and my brother is dressed up as sonic." She told me

"Ok let's get going and find them," I said and then took her hand we started to walk away

We started looking and looking and looking that made it felt like it was it was an hour when really it was more like 30 minutes. and when we were coming down a row of booths I saw a guy dressed up like Dr. Eggman and a young boy dressed up like Sonic the Hedgehog that looked like they were looking for something or someone.

I smiled and looked at the girl and asked: "Are those the two you were looking for?"

She looked where I was looking and gasped with a few tears going down her face and ran to her family members. They saw her and ran to her and they joined in a group hug, it made me happy to see a family moment. I came up to them and the dad thanked me for saving his daughter. he asked if I wanted anything in return but I turned it down because I didn't want anything I was just happy the girl was safe.

They said goodbye to me and the girl came up to me and hugged and thanked me for what I did. She waved back at me and ran back to her family. I was about to walk away when a voice from a nearby booth spoke to me.

"That was quite a thing you did my boy. Not every day you see a person with so much selfless and courage to do that for a complete stranger." The voice spoke

I saw that the voice came from a booth with a bunch of stuff from different shows and the one behind the booth was a man dressed up as the merchant from Resident Evil and all I could see of his face was his eyes.

"Oh, thank you I just did what I could at the time," I said while scratching the back of my head

"You are also modest as well that's a nice quality to have. Now is there anything you want from my stand I have a wide assortment of things." He said while guiding his arm over his table

I took a look at his table and I saw a lot of things that caught my eye. I saw one of those D-tectors from Digimon frontier that was black and grey, the ultimatrix from Ben 10, a triangle with an assortment of colors in them that I recognized as the loonatics symbol, the three necklaces from sonic underground, a Pokeball and Pokedex, Captain America's shield, a bow and couple of arrows, Reptil's red crystal, Natsu's scarf and a book that says ‘fairy tail book of spells on it, celestial spirit keys, syringe of red liquid that says ‘all four kagunes,’ agents of S. M. A. S. H. Belt, Skaar’s sword, Red hulk blasters, fantastic four symbol, wasp gloves, ant/giant man mask and shrink gun, Black Panther adamantium weapons, Silver Surfer's board, Vegito's earings, Luffy's hat, seven deadly sins' sacred treasures, avatar element symbols, Kirby's warp star, orange lightsaber, Delson's chain, shadow's golden rings, and I also saw a bag, a chest, and two suitcases that weren't open.

"Hey what are in those things?" I asked while pointing to what I'm talking about gaining the merchant's attention

He brought them in front of me and opened them. The chest had all of the talisman from Jackie Chan adventures and he lifted the cover under the talisman and showed three gold bars. The bag had a book of magic with pictures and information on the demons and masks from the show with the items to defeat the demons, blank cards for the masks and items used to remove the masks. The suitcase had every Iron Man armor and the other had Erza Scarlet's armor in it while looking I also saw the masks of Spider-Man, Agent Venom, Michael Morales, Scarlet Spider, wolverine, iron fist, and white tiger. And Nova's helmet, Ka-Zar's necklace, a figure of Zabu, Power Man's glasses, and a few noble fantasms and clothing of heroic spirits.

"Well, I have found everything that I want. I would like to have all of these items." I said while pointing to the items that interested me

He nodded and collected the items while collecting them, I saw something behind him that was pretty interesting. I saw a pair of wings being hanged up. The left wing was white while the right wing was black and was so long that they could reach to halfway down my legs.

"I would also like those wings behind you," I told him

He looked behind him and nodded and collected the wings and told me "You know no one has ever asked for these wings ever before"

"I guess I'm just one of a kind," I said with a smile seeing all the items in front of me. I also saw a bunch of figures in cases. There were a bunch of female figures from many shows I've seen. I said, "I would also like to take those figures, please."

He looked at what I was looking at and asked, "Are you sure you want them? They take a lot of responsibility to watch over."

I said, "I will take good care of them. Besides, I would be honored to take care of such beautiful figures." I looked a the figures and I could swear I saw red marks on the figures' cheeks. I blinked for a second and the marks on the figures were gone. The merchant looked at my face and knew he could trust me. He grabbed all of the females and put them in a bag.

"The total of this items together is $1,000." He stated

I reached into my pocket and took out one-thousand dollars. I brought that money because I thought that I would buy something and I got some money I had inside the bank.

I gave him the money and got all of the items. I took off my backpack and put the chest and bags in it. I put the ultimatrix on my wrist on my right arm. I put on the necklaces on around my neck. I put the Pokeball and Pokedex in my right pocket. I put the D-tector in my left pocket. I put the shield on my left arm alnd put the loonatics and avatar symbols in the left pocket with the D-tector.

I put the masks, helmet, glasses, books, keys, syringe, fantastic four symbol, belt, blaster, gloves, adamantium weapons, sword, star, noble phantasms and clothings in my backpack. I put the surfboard under my arm, put the wings on my back with the bow and quiver with arrows in them over the wings. I placed the red crystal in my shirt pocket, and I grabbed the suitcases and put it in my right hand. I clipped the earrings on my ears, wrapped the chain around my right arm, placed the saber in the backpack, placed the golden rings in my pocket, put the hat on my head and placed the sacred treasured in my backpack with the rest of the things.

"Thank you for the items, sir," I said

"You're quite welcome my boy. Now enjoy your journey." He said while waving his hand

I was curious on what he meant by that.' What does he mean by that?' I just shrugged my shoulders my shoulders and walked away. As I took one step my eyes became heavy and it began to become dark around me. I then fell to the ground and fell asleep.

I was able to make out one thing that the merchant told me before I began to lose consciousness. He said, "Enjoy the beginning of your new life." After that everything went dark.
