Investigations
Unicorns. One of the three pony races most common types of ponies in Equestria. They are the most powerful for their direct manipulation of magic that they can use due to the use of their horns collecting mana and releasing it to create all kinds of spells. They say the stronger the flow of magic in a unicorn the longer life they will have, some living close to a hundred and seventy five and the most. But nothing lasts forever... Another had fallen, Twilight Sparkle.
Never know to be evil or hateful, always the student and friend. Our dear mare was found ripped limb from limb in a pile on the floor of her home. Spike and Owlowiscious, her number one assistant and faithful pet owl, had made the discovery late at night after an all-night party at Sugar Cube Corner. She complained of a headache and had left the party around 11:30pm. Her home being the towns library was close to the center of town, had a mob of ponies outside. No one was able to see the scene, not even the friends of the deceased.
The crime was reported at 12:20AM and Sugar Cube Corner was only fifteen minuets away from the scene. Well enough time for the criminal to zip over and eliminate the invertebrate. Official time of death could not be verified due to the victims over abundance of magic giving her body tempter higher then the average pony, also she being in over a hundred pieces. But the murder was just as it had been when Spike had walked in on it. No one besides Spike, Owlowiscious, and the cop had seen the scene before the cop closed the area. The phone, where the call to the station had came from, was still on the hook. The weapon a large bread knife of all things, left bent and broken down Twilight as if it was piercing his last chance of life.
The only thing out of place in the room was a bookshelf on the far. It had been flip down on the ground with books scattered across the ground. Behind it where it was, was the remainder of what looked like a safe. The last clue was apparent to everyone, the door was unlocked as if the killer had a key...
Interviews
Spike
[Mister Spike, can you please say what you can about Twilight Sparkles death?]
"Twilight? I... I don't know how to start..."
[Try when you first found her.]
"Alright, not much to tell, I returned to the library just after midnight with Owlowiscious, Twilight forgot him at the party. Saw her and called the police right away."
[Was there anyone else in the room?]
"Not anyone I can tell, only the killed. Couldn't see anyone other then Me, Twilight and her pet. I was at the party so I don't know that anyone could have broken in."
[Can you confirm anyone at the party?]
"Well, I know I saw Applejack at 11:50pm. Pinkie was yelling at Applejack the whole time for her to stop hogging all the alcoholic cider. She has been under some pressure recently. I saw Rainbow Dash on my way out. Said goodbye to her."
Rainbow Dash
[Miss Dash, you have known the victim for awhile now, right?]
"Yes, she and I had been best friends since she and Spike moved to Ponyville. I just can't believe that she's gone."
[You don't seem to be surprised that she is dead. Why is that?]
"Well, if you do not tell... Twilight and me, we wasn't the best of best friends."
[How do you mean?]
"Well I once heard that she was selling some stolen goods behind Sugar Cube Corner about a month ago. Ever since I heard that I was wondering how long it would be before something happened. I just didn't know that it would be this extreme!"
[Why didn't you notified the Princess?]
""hey, she might have had some problems, but she was still my friend."
[Okay, okay. Just one last question do you have a key to Twilights door?]
"I do, however, I heard Twilight saying four days ago that her other key had disappeared while she went to Sugar Cube Corner while she was having lunch. She banged on my door until I woke up from my midday nap and grabbed my key before storming off towards his home. The next day she told me that Applejack and Spike had been at the SCC while she, Pinkie and Rarity were having lunch."
[Don't you live up in a cloud? How can your cloud make a banging sound?]
"Cloud, door, same thing. If you want answers, find Pinks and ask questions. The stolen goods were said to be stashed there at the shop for some time."
Pinkie Pie
[Miss Pie, do you recall last night when Twilight left your party?]
'Mmmm, yea she left heading towards her home at 11:36pm. Not to be too bad, but I'm sorta teeny weeny glad she is gone."
[Why is that? Are you not wanting one of your five best friends to be still living?]
"I could tell you... That unicorn wasn't as good as Hasbro wants kids to believe. I found out that she stole a lot of dresses of Rarity's. Worst of worst, she sighned her name on the tags and then threatened my life to be able to sell them in the back storeroom. Image to my surprise when she of all ponies was threating me. But I couldn't do anything because I had to look out for the Cakes and the twins."
[So you had nowhere to turn?]
"Nowhere. You know Applejacks barn that burned to the ground three weeks ago? She was looking for her and stumbled across her selling one of the dresses. She said she would tell, he torched her house. Said she would be next."
[Do you remember an incident concerning Twilights key?]
"Oh yeah, she lost her key about four or five days ago. The Cakes lost two chairs and a table to her temper. Like I said, no love lost with her death."
Applejack
[Miss Applejack, have you had problems with Twilight Sparkle recently?]
"Oh yeah! She torched my barn almost my house too. Luckily Big Mac, Appleboom and Granny weren't there to see it, them visiting family over in Applelosa. Had some thugs with her at the backroom of Sugar Cube Corner. I went to find her and saw some of Rarity's "masterpieces" being sold. He burned my home because she was going to teach me a lesson or I would die trying.' I just couldn't do much after that."
[Were you at Sugar Cube Corner about five days ago when Twilight lost her key?]
"Yeah I actually saw him throw a chair at Rainbow when she said to retrace her steps."
[Wow! Okay, can you tell me...]
"Not to offend yea, but I still have a lot of work on my barn before cider season and it's only two weeks away. Because of HER I might not make it in time so I really can't stay to chat."
Rarity
[So, Miss Rarity. You had some problems with Twilight?]
"Oh most definitely. She was stealing my dresses and selling it. I was ordered to make four a week and he come over hid them until she sold them. If only I knew before that they were hidden behind one of her book cases, well I would have gotten them sooner. Now, please leave. Recover my dresses and just leave me be. She already ruined enough. Besides, wouldn't I be the prime suspect because she stole MY dresess?"
Investigators Information report
Spike the Dragon: Assistant/Little brother figure of Twilight, he was found to gain all of Twilight's assets including the money Twilight made off the selling of the stolen dresses. Unfortunately, Spike's entire gain would become the property of child services of whoever adopted him. Until then, he would live with child services with the money untouchable.
Rainbow Dash, weather pony of Ponyville: Best friend of Twilight, she was upset for the lack of trust from Twilight. Being the fastest pony in Ponyville she easily could have taken Twilights key at Sugar Cube corner the Twilight had lost hers. It would be easy to cover up her taking a key when she wouldn't be suspicious because she had her own key. However, Twilight had implanted deep loyalty in Rainbow Dash and Rainbow Dash seams to be too simple minded to be able to plan this thoroughly.
Pinkie Pie the baker: "friend" of Twilight, it is obvious why she would whack Twilight, she was abusing Pinkie and was using the shop to sell stolen goods. She was also afraid of Twilight attacking those close to her. It should be noted that Pinkie mentioned that she couldn't have done the crime because she wouldn't be able to hold the bread knife in her hooves. That information wasn't released to the public.
Applejack the um... Apple: "friend" of Twilight, she wanted to tell the cops about Twilight's crimes and she torched her barn. She feared she would go after her family the next time. She also was seen at Pinkie Pie's party conveniently while Twilight was suspected to have died.
Rarity the fashion designer: "friend" of Twilight, Twilight was stealing Rarity's dresses and selling them. Seems to believe that someone may be framing her because she was the most obvious choice to kill Twilight, or that she couldn't because she would be the prime suspect.
