Spike's secret admirer
The Final Clues
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSpike was stumped, to say the least. The clues he had received were helpful, but he still couldn't figure out who his secret admirer was.
He hummed a little tune as he pondered the clues he had received so far.
'Ok, what do i know so far about them? They are white with a black mane and tail. They are tall, and like to torture wary criminals. They are also gentle, but are very strong.'
Spike puzzled and puzzled till his head was sore. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore.
"Argh!! I can't figure out who it is!! I need more clues!!" He yelled, balling his hands into fists with frustration. He decided to go get a snack from the kitchen to help, thinking that maybe with a full stomach he could concentrate better.
As he went to the kitchen, he tried to think about who the admirer could be, but he kept on drawing a blank. He opened the cupboard, but to his disappointment found no gems at all.
"Aww man!!" Spike groaned. He had been looking forward to eating some gems for a snack, but it looked like he would go hungry this time. "I guess i can have some hay for dinner," he mumbled, not happy about the emptiness of the cupboard.
He closed the cupboard, and started to walk away, deciding to read a comic book instead.
**Clink!!!**
Spike stopped, having heard the noise. He listened for the sound again, but heard nothing. Sighing, he resumed heading towards his room, wanting to get his comic books.
**CREEAAKKK!!!**
He definitely heard that!
He spun around, looking to see what had made that noise. His eyes looked around the room, till they landed on the now open cupboard.
"Huh. I know i closed it," Spike said as he walked back over to the cupboard. "I guess i didn't close it all the...." Spike trailed off as he noticed that there was something in the cupboard that had not been there before. Carefully, he reached in and pulled it out. When he saw the item, he gasped. It was a large sapphire!!
He grinned at the sight of the large gem. He didn't have to go hungry for snack time now!! But he wondered, where did the gem come from? He was certain that the cupboard was empty the last time he looked.
"Huh. Who put the gem there?" He muttered, his curiosity raised. After looking in and around the cupboard for clues as to who put the gem there, he took a bite of the gem, having found no clues.
"Mmmmmm," Spike moaned, the gem tasting delicious in his mouth. As he munched on the gem, he walked over to his chair and sat down. He picked up a random book, and started to read. Coincidentally, it was the book about mythical beings from Twilight.
"Hmmm, interesting," said Spike, turning the page. "The Pony of Shadows." He arched an eyebrow, curious to see what the book had to offer about this being. "Huh. I wonder what this book says about it."
He looked at the description below the entry, and read them aloud to himself. "The Pony of Shadows is a monstrous pony made completely of shadows. This being wants nothing more than to cover the world in darkness."
"Huh," he said, sitting back as he thought about the Pony of Shadows. 'This creature sounds like Nightmare Moon, except she only wanted eternal night, while this guy.....' he trailed off in thought, not wanting to continue that thought.
He turned his attention back to the book, and started to turn the page.
Suddenly, Spike could feel a familiar bubbling sensation in his chest. He quickly closed the book and set it down, not wanting to accidentally burn the book. Soon, he felt the bubbling sensation intensify, and he opened his mouth, allowing green flames to shoot out into the air. As the flames shot out, a scroll materialized into the air. The flames disappeared, leaving the scroll behind as it fell onto his lap.
Spike reached out, and took the scroll. He noticed that there was a black lipstick kiss on it, letting him know who it was from, and causing him to be slightly confused.
"How in the world did they learn the spell that links me to Celestia?"
He knew for a fact that the spell allowing his fire to send and receive messages from Celestia was not an easy spell to learn. But he thought only Celestia knew it, so how did they learn the spell?
Racking his brains, he was unable to figure out how they did it, and decided to think about it later.
Turning his attention back to the scroll, he opened it....

Spike's eyes widened. This mare had real feelings for him?!! That stunned him! He thought that the notes had been a prank, but this changed everything! He sat down, trying to collect his thoughts.
His thoughts were hurtling all over the place.
'This isn't a prank. Who is this mare? How long have they had feelings for me? Why the strange clues?'
Eventually, it was too much for Spike, and he groaned in frustration.
Spike then decided to give his thoughts a rest, and laid back in his chair, resting his head.
Soon, he fell into a deep sleep, during which a shadowy figure appeared in the library.
The figure walked over to Spike, and looked at him with love in their eyes.
The figure then levitated the book, and moved it away from Spike until it was on the desk.
The figure then looked at Spike once more, before disappearing into the shadows.
A few hours later
Spike woke up, having gotten his energy back. He stretched, while saying, "Ahhhh! That was a good nap. I needed that."
He then looked at the clock to see what time it was.
'Huh. It's 2:00,' noted Spike with some surprise. He had taken naps before, but never before had he taken a 3 hour nap.
He got out of his chair with a grunt, and stretched again, popping his spine in a few places.
'Ahhhhhh, that's better.'
He then decided to go ahead and sweep the library, not having anything else to do besides read.
He grabbed his trusty broom and dustpan, and began to sweep the library, while singing a song he had heard in Canterlot.
All rights to this song go to their rightful owners

Soon, Spike had finished sweeping the library, and gave himself a pat on the back for a job well done.
"Good job Spike. Good job," he told himself with a grin.
As he put away his broom and dustpan, he couldn't help but wonder when the next clue was going to arrive, and what it would say.
Shrugging his shoulders at the thought, he went to the kitchen to get himself something to drink. When he arrived in the kitchen, he went over to the fridge and opened it, sticking his head into the fridge to see what there was to drink.
He saw apple juice, grape juice, milk, and orange juice in the fridge, and decided to have a glass of milk. He pulled out the bottle of milk, and went over to the cupboard, where he got himself a glass.
Setting the glass on the counter, Spike opened the bottle and poured himself a glass. He then closed the bottle back up, and set it back inside the fridge, closing it once he did so.
He then took his glass of milk, and drank it up, enjoying the taste of the milk across his tongue.
Afterwards, he put his cup in the sink, deciding to wash it that night.
He then left the kitchen, and went back to the library, figuring that he would continue to read the book Twilight had given him.
When he got to his chair, he discovered that the book was missing.
"Huh? Where did it go?"
Worried about having possibly lost the book, he bent down and looked under his chair, but found nothing. He then stood back up, and looked around the room, his eyes searching for the book.
His face lit up with relief when he saw that the book was on the desk.
He walked over to the desk, muttering, "I guess I put it here when I went to get my broom."
He picked up the book, but noticed that there was something sticking out of it. Curious as to what it was, he pulled it out.
His eyes widened when he saw that it was a folded note.
"What the-? Where did this come from?" He asked, non-existent eyebrows raised in confusion at the sight of the note.
Turning the note over, he saw that the seal on it was a black kiss.
A bit nervous and excited about what it could say, Spike broke the seal, and opened the note.......
