Chapters "TYLER! GO TO BED IT'S 2:30!" Yep, yet another night refusing to sleep, I think at this point im at about 2 or 3 three days. Not really sure which one, it's all kinda one big day for me. "Yeah, in second ma! im doing something important right now!" No I wasn't. "Hurry it up, you've got five minutes. OK?" I just sat there and rolled my eyes finishing up my ""Important work"" "Yeah, ok, whatever. I'll just turn it off now." I shut my laptop and plopped onto my bed. I guess that was enough to get her out of here, she walked out turning off the light as she walked out. "Goodnight." I layed there without a response. I sat there in the dark for a little while waiting for my mom to fall asleep. Thank god she snores. I could hear her through the walls, a low wheeze droning through the house. Thats enough time waiting. "Jesus, finally she out." I slowly hopped out of my bed and sat back down on my couch, flipped the TV on, turned the volume down and opened my laptop back up. There it was, my ""Important work"". It was a Photoshop page covered with my new OC, been working on this amazing being for days, and now to add my own finishing touches to him. All that remained left to do was the cutie mark and the markings on his wings. So far he's turned out pretty damn cool looking, He stood tall and proud with a dull faded grey coat, short cropped up hair, a dull red at the base getting brighter at the tip, and deep gold eyes. "God you look awesome." I couldn't help but praise myself for my awesome work. "Now, for the finishing touches...."
I peeked over at my clock, it read 5:41. "Damn, two hours..." It was done. Finally after several sleepless nights hes finished. Over those two hours I skillfully crafted his new cutie mark, A dark meteor lookin' thing with a swirling trail of fire behind it. And on his wings, A pair of faded hot rod flames, you know, just for flair. "Wow, Hehe, you really do look awesome. But your missing one last thing my friend, you need a name." I sat there squinting my eyes at the screen hoping that would give me some insight on what I could name this marvelous creature. Seconds turned to minutes, minutes turned to more minutes and then finally something struck me. I entered my chosen name in the save as bar and closed up my laptop. "There, days of work finally done. I cant say that could have turned out any better." I lazily stood up and sat back down in my bed for my well deserved rest. Finally, now I can sleep.
Yeah right.
There it was, the familiar darkness that comes with sleep. It felt sooo good after days of no sleep. But there was something else there, along with the darkness, something sorta whistley sounding. Sorta like the way things sound when they fall in cartoons. There was something else too. Other than the sound. There was this weird tingly sensation, that feeling you get when you feel like your falling, and even weirder a slight burning sensation. It kinda hurt, thats weird. Your not supposed to feel pain in dreams? The feelings, all of them were getting stronger, more noticeable. I tried to open my eyes but I couldn't, it was like something was keeping them from being opened. Something that kinda felt like...wind?
No, that cant be right. That dosn't make any sense. I can feel something else too. Somethings on my back, Two somethings are on my back. They almost feel like another set of arms, but lighter, really light. I can roll over, yeah, that will do it. Get this wind(?) out of my eyes. I slowly opened my eyes. Now realizing my situation I attempted to let loose a violent yell. Yeah, not going to happen. I saw them, I had hooves, I had wings. I had MY wings, The OC I had finished that night, I now seem to be embodying him. If I wernt a brony Id be having a panic attack right now. Scratch that, I still am. You know this would be really cool if I weren't plummeting toward the ground at terminal velocity. Wait, I have wings, That means I can fly, right? Oh god I hope I can fly. I can actually start to see features of the ground. Come on, I can do this, I HAVE to do this. FLY, FLAP, MOVE! Come on! Maybe If i just flail every single muscle I have? Yeah, lets do that. I can feel them move, I can feel them stretching out against the wind, catching on it and slowing me down. Good, its a start. Now just FLAP DAMNIT. I can see the ground clearer now, I can see a town. Oh god its Ponyville. I think, kinda hard to tell falling this fast. Come on dude! Just move your wings! Yeah, YEAH! Like that! Oh my god, I might actually survive this! I can feel my self slowing down now, the ground slowly growing closer. Where do I land? OH GOD WHERE DO I LAND?! Wait, HOW DO I LAND!
This is it. Im going to die. Im going to die in Equestria. Im going to die as a pony. D:
There I was helplessly flailing in the air, When suddenly a thought occurred to me. Im going to hit the ground, Im going to splatter all over the place. Thats no fun, leave a mess for everyone, er' everypony. I wounder how fast I can hit the ground? Not die as a splatter, but as a crater. Yeah, that sounds cool I guess. I turned my head down and did my best to fold in my wings, At least I got that part down. I could feel myself picking up speed. I was looking straight down now, right below me seemed to be a big long row of trees, Im guessing either Sweet Apple Acres or the Everfree Forest. Wow, I am going really fast, My lips gave now parted and my hair (mane?) seems to be blown in place behind me. Something weird happening though, shouldn't I be really cold? You know from falling this fast? Because Its getting really hot here. A few seconds past as I pondered my situation before the unexpected happened. I burst into flames. Yeah, thats pretty awesome, but you know what? I kinda hurt. I was now a pony meteor. Meteor... I did my best to look back at legs, and sure enough there it was. Right there on what I guess I now call my flank was A meteor and trail of fire. Holy Crap thats awesome. Oh yeah, thats right, the ground-
Am I dead? Is this what being dead feels like? Being dead sucks, my leg hurts, both my wings hurt, and I think Im still on fire. Is there a pony hell? Oh god, am I in pony hell? If I am its really dark here, except for that little light....Little light....I'M NOT DEAD! Yes! Come on man, come on! Im not dieing in a crater! Its getting closer! I-I can see something ahead of me, Its really orange. I thinks it's saying something, I can't tell, all I hear is this annoying as hell ringing noise. "mgmmslghl." Wow, nice first word choice me. I can do better than that. "Msgn-Liiiiiiife-sda." Yeaaah, much better.
"Hey! I think he just talked! I think he's alright!" Ugh, voices. They hurt me, so painfully loud. "All right? Applebloom anythin' on fire and in a big smoldren pit can't be alright. But at least he's talkin." Ughhhh, two voices. Appleboom? I know that name, I think. Still in shock from hitting the ground at mach 5. Wait, yeah, Applebloom. I guess that means that orange figure must be-
"Applejackssssshhh." Smooth, Second audible word and I've already made a fool of myself. The ringing noise seems to have passed finally. 'Bout damn time. I can hear them snickering at me. I guess that means I can actually hear everyone now, and it seems my vision is recovering too. Woah. Those are some deep green eyes, not a bad first sight actually. "Ughh, You...You're..." It hurts to speak, feels like my throats...on fire. If I could move my hooves right now id be facehoofing. Gotta try and speak, work through the pain. "Am I-I dead. Am I still...On fire?" Solid question.
"Yer alright, At least I think you are. Definitely not dead, and ya' stopped, uhh being on fire a few minutes ago. Just lay still, I sent my brother into town for help, he'll be back soon." Brother...Big mac...help. Oh thank god. Im going to be ok. Kinda feel dumb for that whole burning divebomb thing. Still pretty cool looking though. As long as I live through this im chalking that stunt up on my Coolest Things Ive Ever Done board. "You know mister That was one of the dumbest moves I think I've ever seen."
"W-what? Seen? How-ugh what do you mean seen? Its so dark out, and I must have been falling pretty fast." Oww, Damnit it still hurts to talk. Medical help would be pretty great right now. Im kinda surprised I haven't gone into shock or something. Oh god, I think shock is one of those things if you mention it, it happens. I feel-feel kinda---
"Do you think he's dead Applejack!" The little sister looked up eyes full of fear. "Naw, figure shock just set in, did you see how hard he hit the ground? He was goin' twice the speed of those comets! Im honestly surprised he lasted' long as he did." Both the sisters looked down at new arrival, half in amazement, half in shock themselves. Applejack's mind was wandering with questions. Where'd he come from? How'd he go that darn fast? Ive only ever seen Rainbow move that quick. And at that, how the hay did hey survive. He must have a whole heap'a lucky stars watchin over him. "Do you think we should get him out'a that hole Sis?" Applejack nodded her head. "Wouldn't be right to leave him in that hole, come on. Help me pick'em up."
The Following Morning
Uggggghhhh. My head. My Hooves, Oh god I still have hooves. This is really happening. Im not just having some kind of super-dream. Im kind of strangely ok with this though. I mean there's always a way back right? Ive read All kinds of storys like the situation im in. Some Twilight spell gone wrong, some weird ass rift in time. Theres gotta be a reason for this. Why me? Even weirder, why give me my OC's body? I just finished him right before I went to sleep, then...well poof, like magic im here, plummeting from the sky, on fire. Hehe, I was like a living comet. Still living by the way. Still living. Living. Where the hell am I? Last time I was conscious I was in a smoldering pit. Someone must have pulled me out, and brought me here in this...Hospital? Who brought me here? I remember gaining conciseness in that hole, there was someone else there too. Who the hell was that? I wonder If theres anyone around, maybe I can get some answers. "HEY- *Cough Cough* Is anyon-pony there?" I can hear someone coming, I can hear a few different voices.
"Well well, look who's finally awake! You've been out the whole night. Slept right through that meteor shower, missed one pretty awesome show." A meteor shower? Ha, I must have blended in perfectly with yesterdays stunt, well, at least until I crashed. "But im sure your more concerned with your condition. You seem to have recovered almost completely, I have to say son, Ive never seen anything with your kind of resiliency. This mare Ive brought with me here, Ms. Rainbow, she's quite a regular here, all kinds of crashes and such things. But you, you must have hit the ground going two or three times the normal speed of any pegasus ive ever seen, almost on par with her. And yet you seem to have sustained almost no injury's what-so-ever." On par with Rainbow Dash? Oh my god, im even more amazing than I could have ever imagined.
"Hehe, that fast? Ive heard shes the fastest in Equestria. Looks like she might have some new competition." Might as well poke some fun while im here.
"HEY! I Am the fastest, and I always will be! The quicker you get that through your head the faster we can get out of here." Wait what. We? Get out? Why would she be here to escort me out? Oh well, I guess only good could come out of this.
"What? What do you mean we? Who brought me here?" Might as well try and clear up some questions while im at it.
"We can answer your questions when we leave, So come on Mr.Indestructible, We got places to go." I wounder what she means by we? Oh well, lets just see where this will take me. Cant be any worse that what ive already experienced here. Can It?
"God your pushy, fine im getting up." Wow, this aches. "Ugh, where are we going?" We were now working our way out of the hospital room the doctor stayed back in the room, doin' some kinda paperwork or something, just me and Rainbow now, time to get some answers.
"Like I said bub, you get your answers when we get ours. Oh, really quick Doc said I need to give you this before you leave the building." Wha- *MASSIVE F*CKING NEEDLE*
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHH! WHAT THE SHII-" THAT HURT! THAT HURT MORE THAN CRASHING. "WHAT THE HELL. WHA-What was that?! What did you just stab me with?!"
"Hehehe, sorry man, Doc said its morphine or something, supposed to help with the pain or something. By the way never caught your name?" Name? Oh crap, I cant tell her my actual name, that would be weird. Well at least for a pony name. Might as well tell make one up. Wait I don't have to, this body already has a name. Well, I guess it’stime to meet the rest of them. I'll figure out what just happened with Rainbow later. It's time to get my questions answered...Wow; it really is as big in here as everyone says it is. And there they are, the other five waiting, I guess for me. "Umm, hello?" I'm terrible at first impressions. Need to work on that.
"Well hey there pardner! Seems you've recovered mighty fast, When I pulled you out'a that pit you were more burned up than my brothers cookin!" Pulled me out? OH CRAP THAT'S RIGHT! I remember now! Was I really close to death? The doctor said I had recovered basically overnight. Is that normal? *Blushing* "Oh, It was nothin' just helpin somepony in need. It wouldn't ah' been right of me if I left you there." She saved me; I need to make a mental note to find a way to pay her back. I owe her my life. I need to try and dodge as many questions as I can "History? My past isn't really something I like to talk about. I left a lot behind when I became a traveler." Yeah, I'll stick to the troubled past story as much as I can.

I’ve been here for almost three hours just answering Twilights questions. I’m tired of this, I’m leaving. "Just another twenty two question Mr. Burn, and then you're free to go." And so they left, leaving behind an angry purple unicorn and dual trails of dust. Oddly enough flying came quickly to our otherworldly invader, finding that with a little effort he was capable of keeping pace with the blue pegasus. They raced through the sky with the veteran flier maintaining a short lead, tearing through both clouds and sky the two soon found themselves on the doorstep to Rainbows cloud abode.
"Well, here it is. Try not to mess it up too badly, even if it is made out of clouds you can still break them. Oh yeah and nice flyin' there burns, you almost caught up to me there for a sec. Anyway, I gotta go pick some stuff up, why don't you go inside and make yourself comfy, Just stay outta my room, it's the big one." Sweeeeet. Cloud home is the coolest thing ever, and even better I get some time to myself to think for once. "Uh, yeah, your room got it." Wait, what did she say about her room? I was still kinda amazed at her house when she was talkin. Oh well, what’s the worst that could happen?

Exploration and Discovery
This is crazy, this house is freaking HUGE ! Why the hell does she sleep in trees when she could just come back to her house?! If this was my place I'd never leave here! Oh wait, this is kinda my house now. Well at least where I live. Oh well, I think It's time for a little exploration.
There's three bathrooms...THREE BATHROOMS. She lives here alone, and yet still found the need to have three separate bathrooms built, whatever, im not complaining that just means more rooms for me to completely take over.
I think I may actually be lost. How the hell did this even happened? I walked into bathroom #2. came out and then BAM, Im lost. I'd feel kinda ashamed if it wasn't for the fact that being lost has now brought me to what I assume is the door to Dash's room, It has a big-ass version of her cutie mark on it so im pretty sure this is the real thing. Win. I have this strange feeling like im doing something wrong by opening this doo-oh my god . This, this may be the single coolest thing i've ever seen in my life.... Theres a rainbow waterfall. A RAINBOW WATERFALL IN HER ROOM! Who does that?! Awesome people do! Or Awesome ponies do. You know what, this dosn't even surprise me any more, from now on nothing in this house can surprise me-OH MY GOD ITS A WIND TUNNEL! HOW IS THIS EVEN A THING? How the hell do you even put this in a house?! I-I want to touch it. I wounder how this thing even works? I wounder how she even maintains this thing? Dash may not be dumb per say, but I dont think she's definitely no technical engineer..... That had better not be a degree on the wall. This is a degree....Im dumbfounded. It shows Dash holding a degree surrounded by her friends, Its got an inscription on it. The Day I Got MY Degree. OK WHAT THE FU-
"YO BURNS! WHERE ARE YOU DUDE?" Oh dear god she's home. Hide hide hide hide hide, WIND TUNNEL. YES! Hide in the wind tunnel, she will never look for me here. "HEY! I TOLD YOU TO STAY OUT OF MY ROOM!" Oh no I left the door open, pleaaaase don't look in the wind tunnel. "WHEN I FIND YOU I AM GOING TO DESTROY YOU!" I can feel my heart beating, I can HEAR my heart beating. Ive only ever been this scared twice before, one on my fall here and then there's that one time when I got mugged by a guy dressed like Boba Fett at Comicon. (No Joke) This is definitely scarier that a dude dressed like Boba. "COME OUT NOW AND I'LL ONLY BEAT YOU A LITTLE!" Ahhhhhhhh, panic mode is starting I am now visibly sweating *sniff* and burning? OH SHIT IM ON FIRE!

*Huff-Puff* "I...Was...on fire...again. Im good now..." You know it didn't hurt that bad, just more of a little tingle sensation more than anything. I think I was just panicking...just a little. "So...hey, nice house you got here. Hehe, so this was your room? I didn't know, I promise" I knew It was her room.
"You didn't know 'eh? The big cutie mark on the door didn't give it away? I took you for the smart observant type, guess I was wrong." She's poking at my ego, how the hell does she know that's my weakness? God, the show did a crap job of portraying Dash.
"Well...I may have just ignored that little detail. AMAZING room by the way. Didn't know you had a degree either, or a wind tunnel, or your own personal waterfall. Did I mention that you have an amazing house?" I don't think im going to be able to worm my way out of this smoldering pit ive dug myself into.
"Yeah, It is pretty awesome...Part of the benefit of being the fastest ever is a bunch of prize money and stuff. But hey on an unrelated note, YOU BURNED A HOLE IN MY FLOOR!" Ah, geez, its a floor made of clouds, just bring in another one. I really should stop burning holes in stuff though, it's getting old.
"Oh, you mean this scorch mark? Personally I think it adds a little more flare to the room. Not that it needs more or anything, 'cuz you know...waterfall." It is a really nice waterfall, its got rainbow water, that's awesome. "So hey, whats up with the degree? I took you for the dumb strong type." I should have worded that a little better.

See that big tunnel behind you? Built that thing my self." OK WHAT HELL? How much farther off could the show of been with here? She's a freaking mechanical engineer! God, today's just one big discovery after another.
"That's probably one of the most impressive things I've ever seen before. Like ever." No joke, that's pretty amazing that she managed to build that thing. "So, how is that thing even here? Shouldn't it just fall right through the clouds?"

Asked her if she could solve that problem and then, BAM, permanent cloudwalker spell on it. That thing will stay there as long as I want it to." Thats amazing. Slowly the the rainbow maned pegasus moved her way onto the plush cloud bed, every movement became a show of desire. She layed on the end beckoning the fiery visitor to join her. "Am I dead? Or was that me teleporting? I can't tell everything's really white." I think I may be blind now, there was a noise, a flash and now I cant see. "Rainbow you still here?" No one's answering me, might as well start groping around in the whiteness. "Wow. What is this? What am I feeling? It's soft and flowing....Im touching a princess aren't I?"
"Hahaha, yes you are my little pony. And I believe the guards would appreciate it if you let go of my sisters tail." Oh crap, I can kinda see now. Theres about four or five guards pointing magic at me. Magic dosn't sound fun. Im going to go ahead and back away now.
"Oh, oh, OH! Sorry there Princess. Was kinda blind there for a sec. What's up with the blindness?"
"The temporary blindness is just a small effect of the long range teleportation spell, as you can now see it is already passed from you. Strange, it usually takes a good hour for that effect to wear off." An hour? That was gone in like ten seconds?
"Uh yeah, strange. Now would you please explain to me why you two were watching me? I was kinda in the middle of something uh, kinda important."
"I do apologize for my sister, she's still adjusting to this time. She hasn't quite worked out the whole privacy thing yet. Also, whatever was going on I promise I did not watch. Luna, I do believe you need to apologize for peeping in on our new friend here."

"It's time for a little history lesson my little pony." Wait, why is she calling me that? "You see long ago there lived a large tribe. They lived secluded away from the rest of society on the edge of the Firebrand mountains, half of the mountain range was in the Equestrian territory and the other half in the griffon kingdom. Their largest city, Volcorona, layed at the base of a volcano. Now under normal circumstances it was their duty to watch over it, make sure it was never to erupt." Stop a volcano from erupting? That's crazy, modern society couldn't manage that feat, were equestrian humans magic? "But, as their society grew larger they began to neglect their duty and sure enough their city was wiped out. With the collapse of their government their society slowly began to disappear. So enough their was little left of them, groups roamed the land, small groups of bandits and such. It was about a hundred years ago I gave the order for the last of the bandit groups to be removed, and that was thought to be the last of them. But here you are....the spitting image of your kind." Spitting image? But I don't.....Oh thank god, she dosn't mean human.
"So uh, what exactly am I Princess?"
"You my little pony are the last of your kind, the heir to an ancient and powerful tribe. You are the sole survivor of Phoenix Wings. They were a civilization of pegasi who were imbued the element of fire. Even the youngest of your kind possessed an unnatural control of fire. The patterns on your wings are even more proof of this, not many ponies have more than one base color. Let alone an entire elemental spectrum of color." Heir of powerful tribe 'eh? That explains why I continue to catch on fire.
"Well that explains the fire..." She knows what I am pony wise but she dosn't know WHAT I am so might as well get some answers out of her.
"You mean you don't even know how to control it? You are unaware of how to use your gifts?" I wounder if she knows how they work? maybe I could get some lessons or something, she was alive when my kind was alive so maybe she has some insight on it.
"I've caught on fire more times than I can count, I had no idea I even had powers until now. You wouldn't happen to know anything about my powers would you? How to use them or something?"
"Sadly no, your people lived in seclusion. Not much is known about them to begin with, very few probably even knew your kind existed other than my sister and I. But there is somewhere you could go. That is if you are interested in learning more about your lost culture." Well that sounds fun. Head out on a journey, learn some stuff, stop combusting, dosn't sound too bad to me.
"I'd love to learn more about my people. So where's this place I'd be going? Some library or something?"
"Haha, If only it would that simple, no. You would be heading to the ancient ruins of Volcorona, Im sure there would be something there left standing that might help you. Here, I shall gift you with my knowledge of the place, here, brace your yourself, I will now assault your mind with subliminal messages..." Why does that sound famili-AAAAAAAAAAAAGH MY MIND! I can see it. ruins of a massive city, its like a pony version of Pompeii, ponies that look like me everywhere....forzen as ash statues. Buildings everywhere flooded with ash and hardened lava. It's a terrible sight... Bah whatever ima go snoop around there for stuff.
"Well that place has seen it's better days. Anyway, I guess I'll go get some supplies for the journey and then Im heading out. Um thank you Princess, for all your insight and such." Thankfully her mind blast or whatever it was came with directions.
"It was my pleasure, Im glad you've decided to follow the path of learning. Now would you like me to return you to where we took you from?" Ha, got some unfinished businesses there.
"Oh, yes please. And Princess, would you kindly tell your sister to not watch this time. Or at the very least be quiet if she does. Id like to finish my business in peace."

"I GOT YOU THIS TIME YOU DAL-Where am I? What did you just call me, how do you know my name? Who are you?" He's been to earth before, so I’ve gotta watch the way I talk around him, last thing I need is for someone to catch onto me. Let alone a dimension traveling time pony.

"Spy? Me? With this bright completely normal coat, stealth isn't one of my strong points as you can see for yourself. Now um could I possibly speak to you in the TARDIS, privately?”
"How do you know this stuff?! My my, you ponies are full of surprises, Gah, why not get in here yah crazy." Oh My God I get to go into the TARDIS! This is hands down the best day of my life. "Oi! Right here, come on in then."
"Hehe, yes Doctor, one moment please! Rainbow listen, stay here for a sec I gotta go talk to our um, visitor."
"Visitor? Who is this guy? You said time travel? What does that mean? Please Burns, this looks important, don't leave me in the dark about this."
"Rainbow, I promise. Whatever comes out of this will be good. I got a surprise for you when this is all done." As long as I can talk the Doctor into my plan this will be the best quest/journey thing ever. "Just trust me; I know what I’m doing." I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing.
"Are you two done talkin yet? I’m givin ya one chance to have this talk ah' yours." Ugh so impatient. Better get in that thing before he decides to leave. Man, this thing is as cool as it always looked on the show; it’s really big in here actually, too big. Weird, I wonder if all things in Equestria are bigger on the inside than on the outside.
"Doctor listen to me, I’m not from here. I’m human. I just sorta crashe-"
"Wait your human? Then how the bloody hell did you end up here? I don't even know why I’m here, not sure why I’m a pony either. Figured I just reincarnated or somethin, but enough about me! You! You’re human or were anyway. How's humanity doing by the way? Been awhile since I checked up on them."
"Uh, just fine Doctor. Nothing new, same old same old. Never mind that though, I have a favor to ask you. Can you send a message for me? A message home saying that I’m ok, not to worry that-that I’m safe. Please could you do that for me?" This has been on my mind since I got here; I can't just leave everyone back home worrying about me.
"Yes, yes of course. I'd imagine someone must be worrying about you. Here just send it through this Mr. um sorry what do you go by here?"
"My name is Tyler, but here I go by Burnout. Use whichever one you want, I don't really mind. Oh and thank you Doctor, for letting me do this."
"Haha, It's no problem my good sir, nice to find someone here who knows about our world, talk normal without all of those dreadful pony puns."
"You actually use those? I talk normal and no one's corrected me so far. Been here for three days I think, and I’m already living in the clouds. Amazing place isn't it?"
"Yes, quite so. I've seen some pretty amazing things before, but this word is really amazing. You know with all the magic and such. I'd just love to figure out more about it, just imagine all the lost secrets this world holds? All the adventures just waiting to happen." You know that just gave me an idea...
"Say Doctor, I’m going to be leaving on an adventure of my own pretty soon, going to a city of fallen race, wiped out before their time in massive volcanic explosion. I guess I got some powers when I crashed here, control of fire and such. The Princess told me that the city might hold the secret to controlling my powers, so you seem pretty desperate for adventure, would you like to come with me and my lady?"
"Wow, that’s the first time I've ever had that said to me. Anyway I don't see why not. Sounds like it would be a blast. You can count me in." Haha, adventuring with the Doctor, this is going to make one hell of trip.

Recruitment Pt. 2 Wub Wub
"RAINBOW! This here's the Doctor, he's an old friend of mine I met a while back. Doctor, this is Rainbow Dash. Anyway he's coming with us on our trip. Figured having a time traveling badass coming with us can't hurt anything." Im just now making the connections but now that The Doctors here im now living inside of two shows. If he's here that would mean his whole universe is somewhere out there too. I can't imagine what other things might exist out there, it hurts my mind to think about it for to long.
"Wait what? Trip? What are you talking about? And he was just talking to you like he's never met you before, whats going on here Burns?" Oh man, I left a lot of details out with her. Gotta get things straightened up before I tell her.
"Oh yes, about that, um Rainbow Dash was it? You see Im an old friend of Burnout here. Met him awhile back while adventuring in those northern mountains up there, long story short he saved my from freezing to death up there and it seems fate has crossed our paths again. You've definitely changed since then, probably why I didn't recognize you immediately." Clever clever Doctor, your about as good on the spot as I am.
"Ok, then what's all this talk about a trip?"
"That's what I was telling you was the surprise, Dash we're heading out on a vacation and the Doctor here has agreed to be our guide. He's been where we're going before and says he knows the land really well, so I figured why not take him along with us? You know if that's cool and all." I know this isn't really planned as a vacation but hey, might as well turn it into one right?
"A vacation? Man, you move fast. Thankfully for you im all about fast, and any friend of Burns can't be all that bad so yeah, I guess that means im in for it to. So where we going?" Well thankfully that played out better than I thought it would.
"We're heading to an ancient ruin site, way way out east on the Firebrand Mountains. Rainbow my dear, we're going to the lost city of Volcorona. A city lost to time and fire, but mainly fire. Also conveniently the capital city of my people, so you know, that's cool too. Did I mention there's a volcano? Because there's a volcano."
"Burns, in the three days I have known you, you have been nothing but surprises. Good ones too, and im glad I decided to let you live here. And now your taking me on an exotic vacation? Man, why can't there be more ponies like you." More ponies like me...pony, right. "Anyway, when are we heading out? Im already to excited to wait!"
"Well, I'd imagine that The Doctor's going to need some time to get his things together, and im going to have to make a trip into town for supplies, It's pretty late already so I guess the supply run will have to wait until tomorrow, so how about two days? Everyone should be ready by then right?" I wounder why it is they all correct The Doctor when he says everyone, and I can say it and no one really cares.
"So two days then? That sounds fine, I'll meet you both here in two days then. Now if you'll excuse me I have some matters of universal importance to attend to." He's got time to save the universe and to take a vacation two days later, that's pretty awesome.
"Im not even going to ask...Burns, you got weird friends." Tell me about it.
"He's here one moment then gone the next. He's a pony of mysteries, not much else to say about him." You know other than he's an alien from a different universe.

"Well there he goes, what do you say we get some sleep now? It's been a rather...tiring day don't you think?" Has it even been a day? I can't even tell the time here anymore, the whole sun and the moon rising whenever someone decides its time kinda messes with ones internal clock.
"Sleep? Ha, you're real funny Burns. You should know by now that I don't sleep unless im all worn out, come on, wrestle me." Well thats a new one. Ha, whatever Im not complaining...
THE FOLLOWING MORNING
"AWWW YEAAAAH! GOOD MORNING PONYVILLE!
"Ugh, what the hell? Who's up at this hour making that much.....noise? Is that dubstep?" What am I hearing? Better yet how am I hearing anything up here? Im like half a mile in the air or something. "Rainbow, RAINBOW! Get up."
"Argh, what do you want? You already beat me, what else do you want?" Hehe, sore loser.
"Do you hear that
"Oh no, she's started up again. What you hearing is Vinyl Scratch, she moved down there to Ponyville about a month ago. Ever since then it's been almost non-stop music for the past month. She stopped blasting it about when you arrived, first time since then I've heard her." Well that's pretty interesting, I might have to go investigate this. I mean I got nothing against dubstep or anything but seriously? This early? Not cool.
"Well don't worry, ima have quick fly down there. See if maybe I can put a stop to this."
"Well Im lucky I have such a big strong helpful stallion living with me, fixing whatever problems might come up, taking me on fancy exotic vacations and such. But seriously, go stop her, she's giving me a headache." The longer I listen to Vinyl's music the more it grows on me, gotta kill it before I become to attached to it.
"Yeah, you're a lucky one for sure Dash. Anyway I'll probably pick up the supplies while im in town ok?"
"Yeah yeah whatever, just hurry up and go stop that music. We're half a mile in the air and we can hear it. I can't imagine how bad it is down there." No kidding, sucks Ponyville. Poor bastards must be deaf by now.
"Got any ear protection? I'd hate to go deaf and not be able to listen to myself." What? I like how I sound.
"Got a pair over there by the wind tunnel, now stop stalling and get down there." Im not even sure how this is happening but the the bass seems to be shaking the house, the house made of clouds.
"Sweet headphones! I can't hear a thing! Hey! Do you feel the house shaking? I think the music is tearing up the clouds up here! WHAT? I CANT HEAR YOU! LOOK OVER THERE! THE WALL IS FALLING APART! THE MUSIC IS GETTING SO LOUD IT'S DESTROYING THE HOUSE, WE NEED TO GET OU-" The floor. The sound was specifically destroying the floor. Directly under him the cloud floor had fallen apart, now leaving him plummeting towards the ground. Looking down he sees the town, visible waves of sound pulsing all throughout Ponyville. Each wave was coming from one building in particular, a two story house sat in the middle of the town. His eyes locked onto the building and narrowed, wings now fully spread he dives full speed towards the building. Every second he gains more speed, faster and faster slowly reaching the sound barrier, one last beat of his wings and its broken. Two waves of sound now travel towards eachother clashing and distorting the noise.
"HEY HEY HEY! LOOKS LIKE WE GOT ANOTHER ARTIST HERE IN PONYVILLE!" Music turned down, replaced with voice, going to fast to stop. No no no no no no no Fuuuuuuuuuuuu- Wait. What the hell?
Almost as if stopped by some mysterious force all of his previous momentum has inexplicably vanished. "CAN'T GO LETTING MY NEW FRIEND HERE SMASH INTO THE GROUND NOW CAN I!?" Turning his attention to the voice he sees the familiar white unicorn holding some big apparatus out the side of her building, coming out of the device is what appears to be a beam of sound now holding him in place, almost like some kind of tractor beam. "HEY MAN! COME ON INSIDE!"
I-Im so confused right now. One second im plummeting towards the ground, the next im going fast enough to remix her music, however that works. And now im held by some sound cannon, slowly being pulled toward the epicenter of a musical ground zero. This morning is so weird.

"Help me, help, can't move. Sound...Cannon...Deafening me." It's like being cradled by soft fluffy pillow that's trying to cram a vuvuzela inside both of my ears. This would be very comfortable if it wasn't for the fact that im slowly loosing feeling in my head. "Whats that taste...blood? Ohhh daaaamn, nosebleed duuuuude." Head hurt, can't do sentences good, not sure what happen to me. "Immmm seeing colorsssss man,everywhererrrrrr. I can't do this anymore, I think im-im gonna pass out, no, nope im good, im good, im-im-im dead."
"HEY MAN! SWEET MOVES UP THEREEEE and he's unconscious. Hmmm gotta fix tractor beam thingy on here, that's like the third dude this week. Whatever, I'll get it eventually." The musician stared down at the unconscious heap at her hooves, deciding it was the most neighborly thing to do she carried him downstairs onto couch.
"Ughhh, my head. This really needs to stop happening to me, this is like what? The third time i've been knocked out here?" Seriously though, this is gettin' ridiculous. Where am I? Last thing I remember I was being held by a tractor beam, and now im resting on a couch. Well not the worst place I've ever regained consciousness. It's dark, smells funny, and I seem to be surrounded by all kinds of stereo equipment. I can only assume I've been taken to the downstairs of Vinyl's home. "YO VINYL! YOU HERE!?" No response, it wouldn't surprise me if she's deaf. "Hey! So my jobs done here, so I guess I'll be leaving now, so you know, stop with the city wide music blasting. Or you know, I'll burn your house down or something." Im not sure if I really mean that or not. I'll leave on that note.
"Where'd you go? Argh damnit! I leave for like 10 minutes and he's up and wandering the streets like nothing happened. Great, no I gotta go track him down. Can't be that hard to find him, those newbies always stand out in a crowd.
Man this is weird, first time walking around Ponyville on my own, never realized how many ponies are out here during the day, this place is crowded. God, there's no way im gonna find all the crap where gonna need for the trip, I dont even know where to begin looking. I feel like I should ask for directions to some kind of pony Wal-Mart or something. Man, what was that place called again? Barnyard Bargains or something? God im so lost.

Dumb thing gave me a nosebleed, was out for about 10 minutes then woke up on your couch. Very comfortable by the way."
"Yeah about that. It's not a tractor beam, so stop calling it that. It's a mod im working on for my favorite little toy, still working the bugs out. But hey at least I saved you from smashing into the ground, that wouldn't of been a pretty sight."
"For the record I was more than capable of stopping myself. I just decided that maybe crashing into your house was the best way to turn that damn music off. And speaking of you little toy, how did you even make that thing? Never seen anything like it before."
"That's because there's nothing else like it, one of a kind. Funny story actually, crazy thing started out as just four bass speakers tied together on wheels. And what's wrong with my music? Everyone loves my music!"
"Loves? My uh, roommate said you used to blast that stuff daily, had the whole town ready to bust down your door put an end to your musical plague. Not that I really mind it, but you know, just doing the town a favor and stuff."
"Well no one's ever came and told me to stop, I just figured everyones cool with it. Did the whole town really not like my music?"
"No one could ever come to tell you to stop, im pretty sure whenever you did play your music you incapacitated everyone in the entire town. And even then I can't really speak for the whole town, but it did seem pretty clear that no one liked what you were doing."
"Well thats a bummer, anyway seems like your lookin for something, feel like I kinda owe ya' for knocking you out." Yeah, no kidding.
"Just looking for some place to get some travel supplies, you know like camp gear and stuff."
"I got a place in mind, come on follow me." Well at the very least she's being helpful. "Hey, while we're walking wanna tell me where your gonna be going?" Meh, don't see the harm in telling her.
"Well me and a few of my friends are taking a trip to the Firebrand Mountains, supposed to be some huge ruins out there, figured it would make a pretty cool trip."
"Never heard of the place, I don't really get out much." No kidding, you're white as a ghost. Or is that normal? "Never really have much of a reason to get out, always busy making music, sharing it with the town and stuff. But now that I know that the town dosn't even like it I guess I don't really have anything to do anymore." Did I just ruin her? "Anyway, where here. Have fun on your trip."
"Oh wait. One question before you go, this has been bugging me for a bit. Your not from here are you?" Other than me and the Doctor I wasn't aware that ponys used the word anybody, or everyone. Or for that matter knew what dubstep was.
"Haha, your a sharp one kid, I'll give yah that. I know for a fact that you aren't either right? How long have you been here?"
"What? I don't know what your talking about? I've been in Equestria all my life, traveled around a lot sure but I am from here."
"Oh please, don't play dumb with me, you're not exactly trying to hide where you from, well, not that I do either but you know what im hinting at." Is she saying she's from earth to?
"Ok just to be perfectly clear you are really from.....?"
"Earth, Im human, or was. And you're not that different, right? Just another poor kid sucked out of his world and dropped here." So im not the first to have this happen to them then. Well, that's a little comforting I guess. Man, I wounder how many more of us there are just trying to blend in here then? "So how long have you been here kid?"
"About five or so days, not long. Im guessing you've been here a lot longer, right?"
"Yep, been here for about a year and half now. Can't say it's been a bad time, not much to do around here though." Resist the urge, she can't come with us. There's no way Dash will let me bring her. But she is the only one of my kind I know of here...Ah what the hell, I can deal with consequences later.
"Well.....I don't see why you couldn't come with us, im sure my other friends wouldn't mind." I really hope this isn't going to be a bad decision on my part.
"You know what, that sounds like something I could get into. You got a name? Not your pony name or crap like that, whats your name you were born with?"
"Oh um Im Tyler. But around here I just go by Burnout. What about you?"
"Clair and I guess my fame precedes me as you've already heard of my stage name Vinyl Scratch. So, where should I meet you for the trip?"
"Well...um can you fly?"

"You did whaaaaat?" Oh boy.....
"Oh come on, I did kinda ruin her entire uh, business I guess. Not really sure what she had going on but im pretty sure I killed it. She's a social outcast Rainbow, It was the very least I could have done. I mean hell, your part of the Elements of Harmony, friendliness is somewhere in there."
"Don't even try and pull that on me! This is different, this was supposed to be a trip for us, inviting your Doctor friend along was bad enough as it is. But this, bringing along some random stranger? What were you thinking?" To be completely honest I wasn't thinking at all. " I can't believe you did this, there has to be something you're just not telling me. There's no way you can just be that dimwitted to make a decision like that."
"Listen, for the week you've known me you have thrown all of your trust into me. Letting a complete stranger live with you hehe, sleep with you, and now take you on a trip. Im asking you to just keep trusting me, It may not look like it but I know what im doing. I mean, if I thought Vinyl wound be trouble do you think I would have invited her?"
"Well.....You still should have asked me."
"I should have, and im sorry about not asking. Listen, I'll do whatever I can to make this up to you, anything and I mean anything you need, just ask." Bringing Vinyl better be worth all the stuff im going to have to do to make this up.
"Anything? Well in that case...Meet me upstairs in minute, I got a few activitysin mind." I take back what I said, for whatever reason this world seems to love me. Thank you new world, I love you too.
THE FOLLOWING MORNING

"Urg, what are they even knocking on? Freakin...cloud house.... *Knock-Knock-Knock* YEAH I HEAR YEAH! HOLD ON!" Gotta be Vinyl, wounder how she figured out how to get up here?
"Huh? What's that? Who are you yelling at? Uuuugh, what time is it?" 12:35 P.M. "Wow, I still feel thats too early. You wanna go get that?" I don't really have a choice in this do I?
"Yeah yeah, I got this." Well todays the day, Dash and I got all of our stuff ready and assuming that's Vinyl at the door all we have to do now is wait for the Doctor. How is he even late? *Knock-Knock-Knock* "Im right here! Vinyl is that....you. Um hey, can I help you.....big scary royal guards...."
"By order of the the Royal Sisters I here by place you under arrest, for crimes against Equestria and her ponies. Crimes include terrorizing the public, attacking citizens and plotting to overtake the royal throne."
"Wait what? Arrested? What the hell's going on here? I've never attacked anyone, or for that matter planned to overthrow anything, let alone the Princesses."
"YOU DID WHAT!?" Oh dear god no. "What did you do yesterday!?"
"I swear I have no idea what they're talking about, give me a second Dash, I'll figure this out."
"Do not resist arrest, comply with us and no one will get hurt."
"Listen buddy, you've got somethin' seriously wrong here. I've only been in this town for a week at best, I had an audience with Celestia herself a few days ago. Im not plotting anything!"
"Stand down now or we will use force. We'll give you to the count of five to comply. One" This, this is going to be a problem.
"Goddammit man just listen to me."

"This is not a game you guards want to play."

"Hey Dash, im thinking you should go upstairs for this, not gonna be somethin you wanna see."

"Oh Doctor you well timed son-of-a-bitch."
"Glad to see you too, mind tellin' me what's up with the guards?"
"Oh them? I guess Im part of some one man plot to overthrow the Princesses. Figures?"
"You there! Stand back, we are on royal orders to apprehend this criminal. Any interference and we might just consider you an accomplice."
"Oh come on now gentlecolts, does he really look like the kind of pony to attack a throne? Does he really look smart enough to pull such a feat off?"
"Hey, I could totally do all that! Not that im planning to or anything...Hey Doctor when was the last time you were in a brawl? Thinking im gonna need some back-up here."
"We've given this is your final warning. Stand down now or we will use excessive force." Excessive? Oh this is going to be fun.
"Yeah about that standing down thing, I dont think that's going to happen. Doc you get Tweedle Dumbass over here, I wanna fight the big one."
Not being one to wait, or for that matter hold back you deliver a strong upward hoof to neck of the bulky guard. The guard staggers back letting out a low grunt, but you notice something else. Around the area where your punch connected you notice his skin giving off a faint green glow...A strange eerily familiar glow. You sneak a peek over to see how the Doctor is doing, not surprising to you he seems to be handling himself well. Unfortunately your peek over gave the guard a moment to recover, before you can react he lands a sweeping kick around you legs. Thankfully having wings means your as capable in the air as you are on the ground, as you fall towards the cloud floor you allow yourself to fall through it disappearing into the sky just under the house. You fly downwards gaining speed for your next attack, you turn back facing the sky and smash upwards through the floor putting all of your force into the body of the bigger guard. The guard now laying on his side begins to emit the same green glow over all of his body, and slowly from his back hooves to his head his disguise dissolves off of him. In front of you now lays an apparent unconscious changling guard, bearing the distinctive markings and scales it is clear that he was just no ordinary drone, but someone sent to do some serious damage.
"What the hell...Doctor! You seein' this!?"
"Kinda busy here! *FWOOSH* "I take that back, seems you marefriend here wasn't just content to just sit on the sidelines."
"Was getting kinda boring watching you two fight not having a piece of the action. Nice knock out by the way, hope your going to fix the hole in my floor next."
"Yeah...Hole in the floor....But you know that theres like, changelings here right?"
"Yeaaaah, noticed that, what do you think they wanted?"
"Well don't try to talk to this thing, he's very unconscious. Why don't you try the one attempting to crawl away? You know the one you didn't knock out. Good job there Dash." Well this has turned out to be...A very different beginning to our trip. Well, time to go interrogate a bug horse.
Authors Notes: Brawls? That's a new one, whatever you all love it. This story will be having some serious twist, like M. Night Shamamama-whatever. But guess what, they won't be bad ones. K RIFTEN OUUUUUUUUUT.

"Don't kick it's face, just shut up and wait. While you've been yelling at those things I asked your Doctor friend if he could go alert the royal guards, real ones this time. All we have to do is wait now, once the guards get here they will take them away and we can finally get out of here."
"SQREEEEEEEEEE!"
"OH MY GOD SHUT THE HELL UP!"
"Is there something wrong with you two? I can hear them fi-"
"Burns stop yelling at the changelings! Just wait, these things can't talk, just let the Royal Guards take care of 'em."
"GUYS! I can understand them fine, whats wrong with you two?"
"Jesus, Vinyl when did you get here? You scared the hell out of me."
"I've been here for like five minutes, how did none of you see me come in?" Im going to go ahead and guess we were a little caught up in the changeling interrogation.
"What do you mean you can hear them? Like you can understand? Please if you can tell me what the hell SQREEEEEEEE means."
"Tell you? Why don't you just listen for yourself." What the hell are you...oh god no unicorn magic. "Bam, you got Vinyl Scratch hearing now baby. See for yourself what this freaks saying, sure creeping me the hell out."
"The princess cannot hide! She will perish! Long live the queen!"
"Princess? Oh god, you guys can't really be serious, you fools got rocked last time you tried to attack, what makes you think you could do it this time, huh?"
"The identity of the new changeling princess has been determined! She will not leave the place alive! The queen commands it!"
"What the hell...? Do you all smell smoke? Oh shit! Rainbow theres smoke coming from your room!"
"What are you talking about? What could possibly be on fire? Where in a cloud hou-"
EXPLOOOOOOOOOSHIOOOOON
A massive explosion enveloped the room in fire, a sudden gust of heat and force blew down through the stairs and into the hall. The fragile cloud walls gave way and evaporated into nothingness as the intense heat ripped and destroyed everything in its path. Vinyl, Dash, and Burns we're treated no different then the rest of the house. The shock wave hit first knocking all of them backwards into the air and through entrance of the house. Fire consumed around them as they began their free fall. Briefly the fire enveloped them, consuming their beings for a brief moment before returning to open sky. Consciousness fades away for all three of them, their limp bodies falling to the earth. When suddenly out of the fire come the previously imprisoned Changelings, both of them swoop down and grab the unconscious Rainbow Dash, leaving the others stuck in mortal free fall.
"Ugh, wha...whats happening? Im-Im falling....Im falling. OH SHIT! Rainbow where are you! VINYL!" I can't feel my wings, they must have taken the worst of the explosion, I don't seem to have any other burns anywhere. "VINYL WAKE UP! COME ON YOU NEED TO GET UP, I CAN'T FLY WE NEED YOUR MAGIC! PLEASE WAKE UP!" Im not going to die like this, not now. Wings come on! Work you stupid broken little bastards! "Aaaargh!"
"Life"

Where the hell is that voice coming from?

This voice is in my head....Who are you?
"I am not important, right now you need to live. Now do it live ."
The voice fades away, that word echos through his mind. Live. A warmth grows in his chest, a heat overwhelming his being. A literal heat. Fire.
Damnit! Not now! This is not the time!
The fire retreated backwards to his wings lining itself along every plume and covering them in a coat of fire. But the flames didn't burn the frail feathers, instead a cooling feeling rode over the wings. The wings began to move, but they were under no ones control. Panic set in first with the sudden almost instantaneous rejuvenation of his wings. The fire slowly eroded away but their effect persisted, shaking off the surprise he regains control and starts flapping downward as had as his wings will allow him.
"Im not gonna let you die Vinyl! Im coming for you!"
"Uhhhhggggg." Oh hell she's waking up! "Wha- OH WHAT THE SHIT! What the hell's going on! Why are we falling!"
"You're falling, im chasing after you! Big difference! Uh Vinyl, I want you to close your eyes!"
"What! Why?!"
"The ground!"
Thud
"Hehe.....gotcha ya...."
Once again Burns finds himself in another pit, but now cradled in his hooves lies a very much alive Vinyl. The terrified, mare stands up and looks down at the figure in front of her. The body is mangled, feathers and skin charred, wings bent and broken. Small amounts of blood trickle from the corner of his mouth. She stares silent at the body mouth agape, words fail to come out instead whimpers and exasperated panting. With trembling hooves she reaches down and places a hoof over his heart. A beat. A slow methodical beat. Panic is replaced with joy, she reaches down and latches on to his chest in an hug.
"I can't believe it! You magnificent bastard you! Your alive! But your still hurt, we need to get you to a hospital quick. Now come on, ugh you're heavy. You know, since you can't hear me right now. Thank you, that was the bravest thing I've ever seen. You saved my life, I guess I owe you one."
"Hehe....*Cough* You know it....."
"Figures."

"Im not sure how, but he's recovering at a speed that shouldn't even be physically possible. Here take a look at these X-rays, this first one was taken immidietly after you brought him in and he was stabilized. And I just picked up these other prints now, do you see the difference? It's astounding isn't it? These first pictures here he had over 20 broken bones, a majority of them being in his wings, a few broken ribs and dislocated fore-hoof. But here. These most recent X-rays, it's-it's astounding. His bones seem to just be mending themselves. But it dosn't end there, I mean just look at him now. Where are all of the burns? Where are all the lacerations? They're just.....gone."
"He sure is something.....But I still can't believe he saved me. That fall...I would of died if it weren't for him."
"What he did was awfully brave without a doubt, but are you sure you are ok? I mean you still did fall from a cloud house."
"Yeah...Im fine doc, just a little shaken up still. oh and do you remember how long my friend said til the Royal Guards arrive? I have some very...dire information for them."
"Im sure you do, the explosion and all. Things like that don't just up and happen for no particular reason."
"Yeah...Gotta get an investigation or something, i can't possibly imagine what could of caused an explosion like that. Anyway thank you for all your help with this doc, im just going to stay here for a little longer, see if maybe he'll wake up any time soon."
"No need to thank me, it's my job after all. Have a good night Vinyl, Im sure your friend will be fine, he's something else he is."
"Yeah, goodnight doc, and thank you again."

"I don't know man. Something to do with fire being the most primal form of life or something. It grows on its own. It needs to breath, It eats. Some symbolism or something."
"You know I'd imagine a guide to a spirit would know a little more on just what the hell he's guiding, or you know not be a dick."
"Hey! Im made as a vague representation or your personality, I guess It's easier to talk with something like you. I don't know man, this is just how they made me."

"THEY, are the celestial guardians. Beings that watch over this plane of existence."
"Celestial guardians? You mean the Princess? You know Princess CELESTIA?"
"Her? A Celestial Guardian? Hahaha, don't even go there kid, she's a spirit the same as you. Just a much older one, spirit of order or somethin'. She came into play when another spirit came into existence, wanna guess who?"
"Hmm, spirit of order. What could possibly come in that would need order to counter it? Im going to go ahead and guess It was the spirit of fried chicken? Am I close?"

"Yeah...Discord, anyway spirits usually come in pair, usually really opposite pairs. So hey, you know what that means right?"

"Im not going to say yes or no on that one. Because I have absolutely no idea. Hey on the bright side, It might not be evil. Hopefully."

"The Guardians don't like giving these powers to the ponies in this world, they usually aren't so great at handling them. So they usually just nab people from whatever worlds they feel like."
"Well thats just dandy. So what now? Wanna give me full control of my powers? Wanna go hunt a death spirit?"
"No and yes. I can't just give you control, you gotta figure them out yourself, Im pretty sure Order already told you where to go."
"Order? Really man? Can't we just keep calling her Princess? Are people going to start calling me Life? Because that sounds really stupid."
"Oh shut-up. Any way I think it's about time you wake up. Getting tired of talking talking to you. Oh yeah, and you hear this. This will mean Im talking to you, but don't worry no one else can hear you, all you have to do is just think and I can hear you. Got it?"
"Uh yeah I guess. So what do you want me to call you? I was thinking about calling you Sampson. How does that sound Sampson?"
"Spirit guides don't really come with names so I guess Im cool with that. Sampson. Yeah, Im liking the sound of that. Anyway guess what?"

"What? You mean like a ghost? And what do you mean you met someone? I've been here the whole time, no one but me and the Doctor have even come in this room." She never even left the room? Damn. Thats.....cool...
"No, It's a little more complicated than ghosts. The way HE put it a spirit is pretty much a normal pony. But you know, not normal at all. Anyone made a spirit gets all kinds of crazy powers and stuff. So in my case Im a life spirit, this for whatever reason means I get all kinds control over fire, oh yeah and im also kinda unkillable. So thats cool, um any thoughts?"
"......That......Has to be........The single greatest thing i've ever heard.....So what does this mean? And who told you all of this? Like I said before I haven't left this room once, no one else has been in here without me knowing."
"That's where this gets a little weird. I seem to have a sentient voice in my head, until I learn how to control my powers he's left in charge of them. Oh yeah, and I named him Sampson."
"Can he hear me? Like right now?"

"No, no books. But you know that trip I invited you on? Yeah well the real reason Im going there isn't for vacation. I guess my form is the same as an old extinct race, So the Princess told me I should head there, she figures there might be something there that could help me learn, and I guess since we got nothing better to do why not head there?"

I'd assume getting blow out of a building and smashing into the ground ON YOUR HEAD would carry some kind of repercussions. Minor amnesia is entirely possible, but you know being you It cant last that long.

The view spread for as far as they could see in every direction, the only thing visible was rubble and volcanic rock, the ground had been charred black and whatever wasn't burnt was covered with ash. Looming directly over the city was the massive volcano the citizens were intrusted with controlling, The Firebrand Mountain. The very mountain the eradicated an entire race of ponys.
"Wow...Just....Wow..."

The air around grew noticeably heavier almost as if gravity had suddenly grew more intense, light ever so faintly faded away near her. The weeds growing in the cracks in the road limped and drooped to the ground. "WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO BE SO IMPORTANT! WHAT MAKES HER SO SPECIAL!?" The growing darkness intensified and the weeds lose their color and collapsed completely. The black static enveloped her horn with sharp green bolts of magic jumping off and fading into nothing. "WE ARE TWO OF A KIND IN THIS WORLD, I WILL NOT BE LEFT IGNORED!"

But something didn't set well with the Doctor, the farther he walked away the more he couldn't help but feel something was about to go down. The Doctor being the very well traveled man he was was used to this feeling, it hardly was ever just a feeling that came about for no reason, at this point the Doctor was sure of it now, something was about to happen. Something big.
"Now...where did I park that thing..."

"Oh hello there, I didn't know anyone else was here. And no, I don't think im lost. but if you could help me please, have you seen a blue booth? I seem to have....um...lost it."

"Hahahahaha. You don't really know where you are do yah?" All around the Doctor ponys begin to climb out from behind the rubble surrounding him. "You're in the Eclipse territory bub. Trespassing. We don't take kindly to trespassers."
"Eclipse territory? I've heard of you fellows, a bunch of anarchists. Hiding out in the mountains, attacking and destroying small undefended towns. Anarchist psh, you're all just a bunch of cowards."

"Open the cage!" The dark jagged bars slowly lifted off of the ground, Rainbow Dash lay on the floor, mane matted and covered and dirt and soot.
"Oh....hey guard guy. Food time or somethin'?"
"Yeah, you wish. Nope it's time to take you out of here."
"Oh sweet Celestia finally. Thought I was never going to get out of this place."
"...Yeah about that. When I say out of here, I mean out of this cell."
"Whaaaaat? Where are you taking me then? And why is it so freaking hot in here recently? Its getting ridiculous."
"You'll be figuring out where all of that heats coming from soon enough."
"He means were throwing you in a volcano."
"You just spoiled the whole surprise for her, we were gonna take her up and just throw her in blind. Now she knows what's happening. Good job retard."
"I-I-I WHAT?! WHERE HAVE I BEEN? AM I IN THE SIDE OF A FREAKING VOLCANO RIGHT NOW?!"
"Yes, yes you are, and soon your going to be in the actual volcano. Kind of a sacrificial thing or something. I really have no idea what goes on outside this jail, they don't let us leave."
"So you two are as much of a prisoner as I am then?"
"No, we were told to be here."
"When he said told he means threatened. With volcanoes."
"Well.... have you two ever thought about leaving? You know, not living in the ass end of a volcano?"
"Leave? We're all connected to the hive-mind, even if we wanted to leave it will just instruct others to come recover us. We're stuck here, that's it, no other choices."
"......Im going to propose an idea, hear me out now, what if I were to destroy this hive-mind? Do you think you two could help me out of here?"
"Do you even know what the hive-mind is? It's the Queen. You can't destroy a queen."
"Well im pretty sure a volcano burns hot enough to destroy whatever it wants. A little push, some tied down wings a plop. No more Hive-mind."
"That is dark, we live off the life force of others and that is dark."
"Hey, even a rainbow can be a little dark sometimes."
"Yeah, no kidding. But...do you think you could really pull it off? Taking out a queen?"
"Listen dude, I've defeated gods. Im pretty sure I could do this. All I need you to do is make sure the rope tied around my wings are loose, I've got it covered after that."
"I-I, Ok, We'll do it. Go on, loosen the ropes."
"I got it I got it. You know this is easily the stupidest thing we've ever done, and if this dosn't work you know WE are going in that volcano to right?"
"It's worth a shot, im tired of dumb mountain anyway."
"Yeah, I guess so. This is it. If you manage to do this we're all free. If this works, you'll have my thanks. If not....well, I'll see you in Tartarus."
"Heh, see you there."
"HEY! You two got the prisoner yet! The Queen's getting tired of waiting!"
"You heard him! Prisoner march!"
"Yeah yeah, im moving."
"Prisoner, good luck. You're going to need it..."

"Vinyl, you still you? Or can I hit you now?" You look forward, in front of you stands your friend, the only other human you know of to have ever come here besides yourself. You wait for a response but nothing comes but more silence.
"....."
"Come on Vinyl, say something. Im tired of all this dramatic silence crap." This is the most serious moment you've ever been through and yet you can't help but treat it like some game. "Seriously you need to hurry up and change I seriously can't wait any longe-OH SHIIIIIIIIT!" This is it. What you've always wanted. A good challenge. You think back to your days as a human, every time you saved the world in a game. But now, this is for real. No re-tries, no extra lives. One. Shot. Somethings missing though you think to yourself. Something important . You push the thought to the back of your mind, can't be anything that important you think.
Everything's ready. So go on. Fight.
"OH SHIIIIIIIIT!" Blades of shadow sweep past your head, so close you can feel the air push your mane back. You stand recollecting yourself from the near miss. You feel a familiar warmth crawling down your forehead. Blood. Must have hit you without you even noticing. "Hehe, come on! Aim like that's not going to get you very far in this fight!" What was Vinyl lifts her head. Deep blood red irises replaced the gentle color that you were familiar with. It spoke in a hushed tone.
"You. Burnout. Spirit. What do I even call you?" The voice hissed, you could feel the cold death shes supposed to be embodying on her voice alone. It sent a chill down your spine. First time you've ever felt cold here. "You know my host as this, Vinyl Scratch. But you do not know me. Your counterpart DEATH ." That last word, any chills you felt before has now grown noticeably worse. "You want to fight me so bad boy? One with power greater than that of a Changeling queen? One stronger than any other spirit to have ever been summoned to this world? I ask you once. Leave now spirit of Life. Leave me to destroy this world."
"You know what you just asked me to do right? Did you really just ask me to step aside and watch you kill everyone? You can go to hell. No, im going to drag you every foot of the way there, and then you know what im going to do? Im going to take Vinyl out of there and watch you BURN with her at my side." You felt angry. You can feel the chills leaving your body and being replaced with an satisfying heat. You don't need a book to know how fight this battle. To know how to control your powers. You just need to be angry, so angry control will be the least of your worries. You call out to your inner voice.
Sampson. I know what to do.
Oh really now? No book to read? No puzzle to solve? You just, got it? Just like that?

"You make it sound like by killing me she will return to you. We share a body fool. I am in control now. And I will show you no mercy." Emotions. Thats how your powers must work, you remember back when you came here, the sheer fear you felt when falling towards the ground. Or the sheer excitement you felt when you moved in with.........Rainbow Dash.......You cant put a face to that name, but some faint memory grows in back of your mind. This is no time for reminiscing, only time to fight.
"I've had enough of your talking, you stupid lying son of a bitch, when you die, im getting her back. Now shut-up, it's time to fight." (If you're using the link above change the video to about 3:40)
"So be it, little ant." Without any movement or sign of effort the blades from before lash out at you again. This time you're ready. No more running. You dodge inward with one powerful push from both your wings. You can feel yourself enter the dark aura surrounding Death, you can almost feel the life draining out of you. But you are Life, that gives you a the ability to stare Death in the face. Literally. You run as fast as you can towards Death, using your fear as a weapon, using your anger as a weapon. The heat grows, you begin to leave stamps of fire on the ground where you step. One sharp exhale from your nostrils and you can feel the flames exit you. Not even a moment later you feel your wings catch ablaze, and then immediately after your entire body. You charge forward, sprinting with every ounce of your being, burning the most powerful fire you're ever felt. On hit, one full body crash, thats all you need you think to yourself. Vinyls body was considerably smaller than yours, theres no way it was going to take a lot of hits. "How is it you are able to walk in my shadows? HOW IS IT YOU ARE NOT WRITHING IN PAIN WHELP!?" So close. You're so close you can feel her.
"FIRE IS ONE HELL OF PAINKILLER!" You slam into her with your full body. All of your hate, all of your fear, and every bit of life inside of you. You close your eyes on impact. Everything seems slow, you open your eyes back up and watch Death skip along the ground like a stone on a pond. Could it have been that easy, the grand spirit of Death falling with a single blow? No, you know deep down that nothing's ever that easy. Not this at least.
"You-you insignificant INSECT!" The body stands. Pieces of what looked like Vinyl fall of like a chipped wall. Underneath you see nothing but darkness, a black figure underneath the rouse that was your friend, you remember then that that's all she ever was, she was a changeling. You only knew her on the inside, the thought of what she really looked like always escaped you until now. The last of the shell fell apart, the being that now stood in front of you was different in every way. Vinyls familiar white coat was now dark as an empty night sky. Her mane was dull gray just shades darker than your own coat. Everything was different. Everything but those damn eyes of hers. Blood red. But now that wasn't all you saw in them, anger was now very clear in her eyes. You had used your anger to fuel you previous attack. What could she do when she was angry? The thought frightens you. "You DARE strike the ruler of this world!?"
"Heh-Heh, getting a little ahead of yourself now aren't you? Im still here, and until that changes, you will rule nothing ." This fight's about to reach its peak, no longer restricted by her previous body you can only assume she's going to have more power to focus on you. " God you're ugly."
"Arrogant little fool. I have not been blind to you, everything Vinyl saw, I saw. I know your tricks."
"Yeah? Then how the hell did you get hit? Not much mobility in you is there?"
"Mobility? Why would I need to lift hoof when I can do this." The aura had dissipated when you hit her before, but once again the black field rose from the ground.
"This crap again? You know that stuff wont kill me, right?"
"Then go on, what are you waiting for? Hit me." It's a trap if you've ever seen one, one that she's not even bothering to try and hide.
I think im about to walk into a trap
Yeah, I noticed. Still want to go in?
Hell yeah. I mean what's the worst that could possibly happen?
Go ahead, I'll be watching your vitals. Keep it up kid, your fighting for everyone right now.
"You want a hit? I'll show you a hit." You raise your wings preparing for another charge, this one's going to have to be harder hitting than the last you think to yourself. That first hit definitely did some damage to her so she will have to be hurt in someway, no one bounces like that and stands up like without some kind of injury. You look forward trying to aim yourself as well as possible, but something stands out. Her left wing is bent, she must have landed on it. Theres no way she's going to be able to fly straight with that wing messed up.
Is that a plan I sense you're making? That's a first.
Shut up. See her wing? Its jacked up, that means she can't fly. Im going to try and get her up in the air, Im gonna try somethin from a movie I once saw.

"Are you just going to stand there? Im waiting for you whelp."
"You know I was thinking, ground fights suck. Why not fight on my turf, unless of course it's to much for the ruler of this world?"
"Tch, It does not matter where we fight. I will always be your better." Her wings bolt out, but as expected there's a very obvious cringe of pain when the left wing comes out. Something very strange is also show now, her wings aren't covered with holes, now that you notice it there are very few holes in her body. A changeling with almost now holes, thats a new one. Oh well, this actually works for the plan.
"Let's see if you're as useless up there as you are down here. Later loser." One powerful flap and you become airborne, You take off full speed into the air keeping a close eye on Death. You watch as her wings slowly begin to vibrate and she too enters the air, unfortunately so does the darkness. You maintain a higher altitude above Death, goading her to come higher.
"What is it you're running from? Scared of the dark? Here this might comfort you a little!" You watch as her horn glows and the darkness directs itself upwards right at you. It bolts forward at a faster speed than before It reaches out like a tentacle grabbing at you, each swipe coming closer than the last. You dodge and roll side to side evading the tendrils, thankfully it's a lot easier to dodge in the air than down on the ground. You pass through layers of clouds, the darkness still remains right behind you as you speed towards the sky. This should be high enough you think to yourself, time to execute the plan. You spread your wings out as far as you can stalling yourself and letting the darkness envelop you. It burns, more than before. But it dosn't matter, pain only fuels your fire, you turn around and begin to fly down towards the ground grabbing as much of the clouds as you can. Only one place to go, right through the darkness and towards Death. However just before impact you roll to the side and avoid a crash, the shadows continue to chase you, following you in your decent, you notice it's not alone. Right behind the shadows is a very frustrated looking Death. "Why is it you run from me? There is nowhere you can hide."
"How's that wing holding up? Looks a little bit tired from all that crap you call flying!"
"I WILL DESTROY YOU!" Her wings move faster and she slowly closes the gap between you. You continue to hold on to the mass of cloud, It obstructs your view of the ground completely, but it's doing it's job perfectly. The plan is coming together, with that messed up wing of hers theres no way she will be able to stop herself in time. And since neither of you can see the ground it's going to be a matter of who can survive the crash, something that you've proven to be very good at.
"Oh yeah? Destroy me? Well I've got someone I'd like you to meet, me and him are kinda buds." You let go of the cloud and watch as Death flies directly into it immidietly obstructing her vision. You stall yourself again allowing her to catch up to you. Right as she's about to pass you grab onto her back and hang on. The Darkness is still surrounding you, draining the life right out of you. It seems especially strong right here on the back of Death. Figures. "Ever hit the ground going mach 3? It's not the funnest experience." You exit the cloud cover revealing an awkwardly close ground.
"YOU LITTLE-" And the silence. Silence all around. No crash noise. No crumpling of flesh or cracking of bones. This is starting to become a rather humiliating situation. Yet another day of you laying in a smouldering pit. But hey, at least you took out Death, well you hope so. As long as she can't recover faster than you can your willing to consider this a win. "........Gotcha bitch......." Darkness.
"Urgh, my aching......everything. What the hell happened?"
You did what you were born to do man, crash and burn. Take a look next to you.
"What? Look at wh-WHAT THE HELL!"
What did you think was going to happen? You essentially just piledrived her from the stratosphere.
"We-we-well can we fix her?!"
What do mean fix her? You can't just fix a person like that. It dosn't work that way.
"What the hell are you talking about? I do that all the time! Can't we just like....Heal her or something? Just like, throw our magic stuff and use it on her?"
What? No, we can't just throw magic....Can we do that?
"Why the hell are you asking me! Your supposed to be the expert on this stuff!"
Well....um, ok. We're going to try something. I need you to walk over to her.
"Um.....Which part? It's kind of a mess out here..."
I guess the biggest part you can find, the less regeneration I gotta do the better.
"Regenerate? Can you...Actually do that? Can we do that?"
Kid listen, You're not just here to balance Death, at least not anymore. You're here to add another line of defense to this world. Help who ever needs it, whether that be an individual or an entire civilization. You're practically built to die and just keep coming back, you're built to do anything that is needed to make sure everyone is saved, even at the cost of your life. Which you conveniently have a never ending supply of. So to say that we can't bring one lost pony back, that dosn't sound like to far of a stretch to me.
"So you can do it? We can actually save her!"
No promises. Keep in mind we aren't regenerating a bruise or broken bone. We're practically going to be building an entire body from scratch.
"You don't sound very confident in this plan."
I've only ever healed you, even then it's only happened like 4 or 5 times. That's not that much practice, mind you I got it right every time. But this is another person, you know, one im not already inside of.
"You were just rambling on about how im built to save lives, and now you're doubting that we can even do it?!.....Ok, hear me out here, What If you were inside, could you do it then?"
Inside what? That torso? Im not like a flash drive kid, you cant just plug me into whatever you want and move me...

If I say no will you drop this and stop trying to shove me into a dead body?

Ugh, just, put your hoof on the biggest chuck of her you can find.

"Any specific reasons why?"
If your hoof stops touching at all, I'll lose my bridge back, I won't be able to find my way back to you. This is serious, DO NOT MOVE.
"Why would I possibly move? My hoof's on a dead torso, it's not like it's going to be fighting back."
Yeah, right. Ok so Im going in now. Oh yeah, by the way this may take a while. Maybe a few hours. So you know, don't move.
"Ok what the hell! Sampson! Sampson! Well...Nothing left to do but wait..."
MEANWHILE ON THE VOLCANO
"What in the Queen's name is going on here! Who let the prisoners out!" Chaos had completely broken out on the peak of the volcano. Changelings scatter in every direction pursuing the newly released prisoners.
"Heh, good idea with the prisoner cover. Definitely a good distraction." With a last minute decision to let all the other prisoners out the plan had begun. Every captive in the entire ward had been set free, some ran and others were staying to have a little fun.
"You! Pegasus pony, why have you let my sisters and I free?" A group of figures stood out amongst the chaos. "Are we not your enemies?" The four previously imprisoned princesses stood together trying to make sense of confusion going on all around.
"Listen sister, I hated being stuck here, I decided to leave and figured none of you like it here either. You're all free to go, but I got some royalty to overthrow."
"If you plan to overthrow mother you will need our help, each one of my sisters and I have magic as capable as her's. Now, one last thing before we are willing to assist you. Where is our final sister?"
"Her? She's out living a life she stole from me, she destroyed my house and tipped the entire changeling army that I was the escapee! Now because of HER I have to deal with all of this! So you know what, she's probably out there having the time of her life right now!"
"I apologize for what our sister has caused you. We will gladly assist you in your cause." The four step forward and all of their horns begin to glow different colors. " We have an idea, that is unless you already have one?"
"Um...you know what, let's go with your plan."
"Good, now we will descend into the volcano, when you hear us call out to you we will need you to coax mother over the mouth of the pit, we will handle the rest."
"Well, that definitely sounds a lot more effective than my plan...Ok let's do this."
"We will contact you shortly, godspeed and good luck." The four descended into mouth of the volcano, now all that's left to do is locate the queen. A short look around revealed blasts of a familiar green magic. Chrysalis. It was the same magic from the Canterlot invasion, no mistaking it. Another short moment later and the queen came into sight, she was indiscriminately blasting changelings, she didn't seem to care what was a released prisoner and a guard.
"Hey Chrissie! How are you liking the volcano? I figured this place needed to lighten up a bit, I guess all the prisoners agreed with me."
"You...You are the one from Canterlot. And now you're here, causing me even more trouble. You shall perish with the rest of these drones." The queen turns begins to fire blasts of magic, each one flying wildly with no apparent aim.
"Not one for precision are you?"
"Where would the fun in killing you right away be? It's fun to watch you dance about in fear of your life." Another volley of blasts rocket forward still lacking any form of aim.
"Dose it look like Im in any kind of fear right now? What could I possibly be afraid of, you cant hit me even if you tried! Heh, loser!" A small laugh and a taunt is enough to set off the now enraged queen.
"I will slay you were you stand! *RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE* What was that? What have you done?"
"No idea what you're talking about Chrissie." The entire volcano shook, whatever the princesses are doing inside must be working. "You ever consider not being so bad at everything? You know, just saying."
"Aaargh, I will destroy you!" Another even larger barrage of magic is fired into the air. Orbs of green fly by missing only by chance and a tad of finesse. *RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE*
The plan is nearly ready, bring her over the pit.
Wow hey, are you talking in my head?
Yes, now please hurry. There is not much time before it erupts.
Erupts! Is that what you're doing down there?!
Yes now please hurry!
"Hey Queeny! Maybe if you got a little closer you could actually hit something!"
"Grr, insolent little beast, talk all you want, I will kill you in time." The queen took the bait, she lifted herself off of the ground and flew towards the center of the volcano, stopping only a few inches before before making contact. "You call me forward, tell me, do you beckon death?"
"Me and death don't get along to well, Im thinking you two are about to get a lot closer. Now tell me, does it feel hot out here, or is it just you?"
"Excuse me? We changelings have no perception of temperature. Quite a useful trait we've acquired isn't it?"
"You know, not really. Otherwise you would of felt this coming."
*RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE*
"W-What have you done?!"
"Not much, you just set off a volcano." A powerful flap forward into the queen knocks her off balance and leaves her disorientated. "And this is for making them blow up my house." The volcano shakes one last time and with that jets of lava shoot straight up consuming the queen in molten fire. Her figure disappears into the mess of lava and smoke, soon everything nearby is taken over by the lava. Everyone is flying away now, every single changeling scatters into the air. With the hive-mind now gone the changeling army is left leaderless, for once in every changelings life there is no voice in their head telling them every move to make...
BACK TO BURNOUT

Author's Note
Happy end of the world everyone, Thankfully while this world isn't ending this story will be soon. Im going to have this thing finished up by new years day. (Also any delays on this being put out im blaming on finals in school.)
The earth shook, and if it were possible the sky would be too. Smoke filled every inch of the air that wasn't already covered lava. For the second time in important history the Volcorona Volcano was erupting, and it was going hard. "You set off a volcano!? What were you thinking!? And where are all of you, weren't you inside of this thing!?" The telepathic connection between Rainbow Dash and the Princesses still seemed to be working.
"We are safe, where we are is not important. And the volcano was entirely necessary, It seemed to be a very efficient way of dealing with our mutual problem. Do you not agree with our methods?"
"It is kinda awesome...But...As part of the weather team I can't condole the use of natural disasters as a way to take somepony out. You're destroying all of the land nearby, did you even think about this plan? *Cough* "The smoke grows increasing thick as more and more pours out of the volcano.
"We care not for the land, we are grateful to you for freeing us but that is the extent of our feelings. We did what we believed was necessary to succeed."
*Cough Cough* "Well thanks for abandoning me. *cough* It's getting a bit hard to breath up here. I'd fly away, but, well I got a bit... singed." A majority of the feathers that lined the edge of the wings were damaged, even more dire some of the flight feathers were all but burnt away on the left wing making lift off all but impossible.
"Do you seek assistance?"
"No *Cough* No. I got this."
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I got this." A second burst of lava and smoke shoot out of the volcano. Streams of lava snake around the area, the heat starts to become unbearable, lava bubbles pop and simmer even more smoke floods in. "You know what, Im thinking I'll take that help."
"Heh, we thought as much. We will assist you momentarily."
"I don't have momentarily!.......Well?!......Please help....It's really hot here...."
"We are ready, we will be moving you to the closest life near you, all of the changelings have fled so you should be placed out of harms way."
"Yeah yeah....that sounds good....I-I think the smoke up here....is getting....to...me..." The toxic smoke is finally to much, a last breath and then fading vision . A sheet of light envelopes the body and then they both dissapear...
The City (3'rd person surprise)
"Sampson, man I don't know if you can hear me but there is an absolute shitstorm going on out here, whole mountain is erupting. And on top of that, the whole freaking Changeling Army is flying near us. We cant stay here, if one of them see's us we'll have the entire swarm on us. Not that I couldn't handle that, but I'd have to leave you to do it. Please man, just answer me. I don't know what to do...." You realize you're just yelling to the sky. Sampson has been regenerating the body for about 15 minutes now, and it's been a weird process to watch to say the least. In fact it almost looks like the body's degenerated. "Weird." You figured regeneration would just grow new...well everything in this case. But it's like he's making an entire new body, starting from scratch kinda. "What the hell are you doing..." You cant help but wonder what Sampson is doing, then again he didn't sound like he knew what he was doing. Looking back now this dosnt seem like the greatest plan, but so far so good, as long as nothing unexpected happens everything should be just fi-ShpAOSFOaFO- You turn your head to face the strange noise, your heart skips a beat.
"Mmmmmmph" A faint groan is can be heard You feel all of your hooves trembling. You know who this is, or you think you know. You look at her face and your mind stays blank. Is this her? Could this really be her? It's that one of a kind mane, it has to be her, probably. But why is she here now, what happened to her?
"Rainbow? Is that you? What's wrong with you?" She's definitely hurt, you can see the burns up and down her wings but that shouldn't be enough to bring her down. Something else has to be wrong with her, something that you cant directly see. "Can you hear me?" You try calling out to her again.
" *Cough Cough* Burns? That *Cough* you?" You notice a little gray puff of soot exit her mouth when she speaks. Soot? The ashes haven't even hit the ground here yet, she would of had to be right up in the eruption. What the hell is going on?
"Rainbow is that really you? I-I think it's you but I don't know, what happened to you?" Nothing makes any sense, where did she come from? She just appeared out of thin air hurt and coughing up soot.
"Volcano. REALLY HOT. Toxic too. What's up with *Cough* you? " So she was up on the volcano doing something, but isn't that where all the changelings were running from? Changelings....and Rainbow Dash....
"I remember..."
"What *COUGH cough* what are you talking about? What are you doing here?" Every connection is finally made in your mind, all the memories come flooding back in.
"I remember you. I remember you! Oh god finally! Oh my god are you ok?! What happened to you?" A surge of sudden concern washes over you as you fully realize that your caretaker/lover/friend is hurt on the ground before you.
"Remember? Did you forget me or something? *COUGH COUGH* What are you doing to that foal? Why do you got your hoof on it?"
"Huh? What are you talking abo-" There is a baby on your hoof. There is a little foal being regenerated on the end of your hoof. "What the hell!? Sampson! This is not regenerating! This is rebirth!" He isn't regrowing limbs or anything, Sampson's actually making an entirely new body!
"Oh my god....This is ridiculous. Rainbow, is there anyway you can crawl over to me? I can't move, It's a long story but this baby is Vinyl Scratch. I can help you, but if I take my hoof off of her Sampson will be stuck inside her body."
"Wha? What? Why is she a baby...? Wha- What did...you doooo...?"
"What is wrong with you?"
"Volcano gas. Kinda making my mind all jumbly. The baby, what's with the baby?"
"Um. To make a really long story short. Um, Vinyl was the Death spirit, so we killed her. Now we are un-killing her. And I just realized we lost the Doctor, not really sure where he wondered off too....But hey, where have you been?"
"You know, why don't you fix me up first?" Rainbow shoots you an annoyed look. " I'd like to be able to *COUGH* breath right, you know without coughing every few seconds."
"Id love to, but I can't move. Like I said if I take my hoof off of her I lose Sampson."
"How long is that going to take? *COUGH COUGH* This isn't getting any better you know."
"Um, Sampson said a few hours...."
"What?! *COUGH COUGH* Im *COUGH* not going to last a few hours, you know this hurts, really bad." She's right, she's badly hurt. But, you can't just leave Sampson in the body of a filly. Or can you? Leaving a Spirit of Life essence in the body of the Spirit of Death dosn't sound like a bad idea. Maybe it might fix her in the head. This could work...It will have to.
"All right, Tell me where it hurts." You lift your hoof off of the filly, right as you lose contact you feel a sharp pain in your hoof and notice a small spark between you and the Vinyl. You wince off the pain and walk over to Rainbow Dash.
"Are...you going to be ok Burns? You know you didn't have to leave him, I could of lasted this out, heh, probably." Rainbow looks up at you, you can tell she feels guilty for this.
"Im fine. After all It's my job to keep everyone alive, Im made to take hits and just keep going. Im sure I'll get by without Sampson. And he's with someone who needs him now. And what kind of hero would I be if I didn't save you? You're more important than anyone else in this world to me, so don't feel bad, It wasn't even a hard decision to save you" You place a hoof on her chest and close your eyes. You feel a warm aura surround the end of your hoof.
"You know, when you crashed here that one day *COUGH COUGH* I knew you were going to be something amazing. I was right, every level of rightness. Such a Handsome, Daring, Confident, Handsome stallion. When we get back to Ponyville, and I get a new cloud house made up, you're living with me, permanently. *COUGH* How does that sound?"
"I'd be honored, but you know I have something a little better in mind. I think Princess Celestia wouldn't mind rewarding me for defeating the Spirit of Death saving most, if not all of Equestria."
"Heh, What do you think she'd *COUGH* give for the defeat of the Changeling Queen?" Rainbow looks up at you with a cocky smile.
"Well haven't you been busy? That explains all of the fleeing changelings...You really killed a Queen? That's pretty badass." You notice most of the feathers on her wings have grown back and all of the little cuts and bruises on her have disappeared. "Heh, well we're pretty set then aren't we?"
"What about that?" Rainbow gestures over to the little filly. "It's stopped uh, growing or whatever it was doing." You look over at filly Vinyl, who for whatever reason has stopped growing since you took you hoof off of her.
"Well....um....you want to keep her?" You look sheepishly down at Rainbow. "I wouldn't mind havin' a kid, what do uh, you think?"
"A kid?" Rainbow look over at sleeping snow-white filly. "Yeah, I could get down with that." Rainbow lean up and kisses you. "So how about we get out of here? All this soot and lava starting to cramp my style." Rainbow rolls over and stands up. "Man it's good to be back in action. So what do you say we get this kid and fly out of here?" Dash raises an eyebrow and looks back at you.
You look at her and smile. "Yeah, lets get out of this hell-hole." You walk over and look at little filly, and you reach down and poke her. Her little eyes open up and look up at you and yawns. "Freakin adorable."
"Come on Vinyl, lets get out of here." You reach down and pick up your new filly and walk over to Rainbow Dash. "Well, shall we go claim our rewards? Im sure the Princess would like to hear this story."
"Im sure we're going to have plenty of storys to be telling to this little bundle of cuteness." Rainbow reaches forward pokes the filly in her belly. "You know for being Death she's pretty adorable"
"Heh, yeah. Seriously though that lava's getting close, we should get out of here."
"You know Im going to have a lot of memories here, I will never miss this place. Let's get out of here Burns." Rainbow floats off the ground and starts to slowly fly away. You take one look back at the volcano and then look down at the filly in your arms and think to yourself. I just killed you half-an-hour ago and now, you're my new kid. Life is a weird thing, and I don't think I mind being the spirit of it...
"Yeah, lets go. You to you kid." Vinyl reaches up and wraps her little hooves around your neck. "Goddamn you are adorable." You hug your new filly and look up towards the sky where Rainbow Dash waits for you. You flap your wings and fly up to Rainbow. The two of you kiss and continue flying away from the destroyed town until the three of you disappear into the clouds.
