Fall of the Solar Dogma

Although it hurts a little bit, I have to cancel the story.

Several years ago I made an attempt at writing. A pretty sad attempt. So sad in fact that I quit with only one completed story. Since then I've been contemplating giving writing a second chance a couple of times, but nothing ever happened. Then, My Little Pony happened. All these talented writers and incredible stories together with and idea that wouldn't leave my mind inspired and encouraged to finally pick up writing again.

And what a comeback I would make. I planned out an epic story. I even got a pair of proofreaders in addition to my editor to ensure the best possible quality. However, when I sat down to finally turn my thoughts and notes into something real, everything collapsed. It's was way to ambitious a project after so many inactive years.

Even so, a short prologue and a forced first chapter managed to get twenty two thumbs-up and thirty five favs. Thiry-fucking-five! You guys have no idea how happy and humbled you made me. I was so anxious when posting this, and you guys gave me the biggest confidence boost ever. And so, for the 35 people who actually believed in me, I tried to continue.

I took a fellow writer's advice of writing down the parts I felt I could write the best, and then tie them together. And so I wrote down the Battle of Manehattan, the story's major battle. I wrote all of the mini-chapters that were small snippets of Vinyl Scratch reporting on the war and what was going on in Equestria over the radio. I wrote down Colgate's epic sacrifice and I wrote down the final showdown between Celestia, Nightmare Moon, Twilight and Lyra.

All these parts actually turned out better than expected, I was quite pleased with them. Unfortunately, I lack the skill to tie it all together, to write the parts in between. I'm simply not a good enough writer to pen down an epic. Therefore, I'm canceling the story.

However, I want to really thank everyone who commented, favorited and liked the story. It really means a lot that people actually care enough about something I wrote to do that, and I'm very sorry to have disappointed you guys. But I'm not giving up writing again. I currently have stories for TAW's, Veggie's and EQD's contests in the works. So if you want to see more half decent stuff I write, give me a follow!
