From Telescope to Microscope
"What in Equestria... ?" Star Bright asked himself, looking deep into the infinite cosmos through the telescope of his workplace- the Canterlot observatory!
It was here that Star had spent the last number of years observing and charting the endless expanse of space in search of answers on the order of Princess Luna herself! From a young age, Star Bright always found himself attracted to the night sky. Ever caring, his parents didn't want their son wandering out in the dark- and so would keep him inside, safe with them.
It wasn't long before the little stargazer would begin to sneak out of the house through his second story window. Some nights he would just lay on the roof of their house admiring all the constellations he had taught himself about through the archives found in the Canterlot library.
Upon discovering what he had been up to, his father began to take his starchild out in the evenings himself. He had even bought Star's first telescope for his birthday that year.
Star had maintained his hobby even despite being busier than ever once he had been enrolled into Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. He had been a fast learner. Like many of his peers he showed great promise with his magical ability.
Star was honored to have been given the opportunity to do what he loved more than anything for a living. He was thankful for every day he got to spend looking out among the celestial bodies that spanned the skies above.
Most days were fairly uneventful. Mapping space also entailed mapping the expansive void as well. So today was anything but uneventful. Star was uncertain what he was looking at. His vision fixated on it. Even as he adjusted his focus, the mysterious object appeared blurry.
A blinding flash had Star clench his eyes tightly, taking a step back, opening his eyes as he slowly adjusted to the room's lighting. That mysterious body was burned into his retinas as he looked around his room, the afterimage slowly fading. He placed a hoof to his head and groaned. He had a strong headache, feeling like his forehead was being squeezed in a vise.
He jotted down a few notes about the phenomenon and the coordinates of its location. As a wave of nausea came to him, he wanted to get home and rest. Walking along the dimly lit path, Star sighed heavily, his mind wracking to figure out just what he could have possibly seen. "It wasn't a supernova, although it sure was bright like one..." He shook his head- a decision he immediately regretted as another pang in his forehead reminded him why he was heading home.
Arriving at his house, Star opened the door and stepped through, greeted by the warm heated air which contrasted with the cold night's air, feeling a breeze rush past him as the air mixed. He stopped in place, that idle throbbing in his head was gone- but replacing it, a warm tingling sensation, pins and needles like he had gone numb. This strange numbness spread across his whole body. Down his neck, through his chest and out each of his hooves.
His breathing became heavy as he looked down towards his wooden floor. It was growing nearer. But how could that be possible? Fixated on it, he watched as it rapidly expanded beneath his hooves, shuffling them on the spot to keep balanced. He realized quickly what was happening, his heart racing as he looked up to find the entryway of his house- large and getting larger by the second.
He turned towards the door, reaching for the handle only to find it now towering over his head. He had to be one foot tall and still getting shorter. Moving quickly, he strained himself as he pulled at the edge of the door with his hooves to get it moving. He ran with the swinging door, his forehooves pressed against it building enough momentum to just barely get it closed.
As the tingling sensation faded he took a seat, exhausted by merely having shut the door to his house. He began to shake as he looked up. He must have been just shy of four inches tall! The bright glowing orb that was his ceiling light looked like the sun itself to him.
This isn't happening, there's no way this is real. It's a dream, it has to be a dream, oh Luna, why am I dreaming about this? It is so weird. He rambled mentally as he continued to observe the room. His staircase leading to the second floor was in front of him. Each step about as tall as he was! Off to the left was his sitting room, and off to his right, his dining room. Past each of them, his living room and his kitchen, all connected together in a circle on the main floor.
Of course he had to sleep on the second floor, not that he was going to get any sleep anytime soon. Not like this... He needed to figure out what was happening to him, and more importantly, how to reverse it! A groan from his stomach indicated another priority for the now puny stallion. He had skipped dinner again. He was way too into his work some days. Why did it have to be today?
Standing up on his shaky hooves, Star walked into his sitting room. It was well furnished- a couch, a few lounge chairs and a mahogany table. His fireplace roared to life on queue, a spell he was rather proud of. On a normal night Star would love to recline in his chair by the fire reading. Of course at his size even lifting a book might prove a problem. Habitually, he began to walk around the edge of the room, then as he cast a glance at his couch he realized, he could actually walk underneath it!
A slight smile came to his face, this experience sparking the imagination of his inner colt as the stallion walked right under his own furniture. Gee... it's kinda dirty under here actually- I need to do a better job vacuuming. He noted about the carpet he tread on. Having passed under the couch he arrived at his mahogany table, admiring how it covered him from the lights above.
Curious, a sense of wonder and desire for exploration came over him. He turned to look up at his couch and its dark green floral pattern. Sinking a hoof into it and grasping tightly to the material, he began to scale up it. Arriving at the cushion, the toughest part of his climb was over as he pulled himself up onto it, walking to the center of the expansive seat. It was rather unique how his hooves sunk down into the cushion, however it made walking rather awkward for him. Turning around, he sat down, looking back out at the room. To his right the already tall armrest at a normal size now towered over him like a big soft wall, much like the backrest of the couch.
Around each of the cushions a narrow but deep ditch, he imagined it would be rather easy to get trapped between the cushions if he misstepped. He rolled onto his back for a moment, realizing he could just as well sleep here if he had to! The warmth of the fire which filled the room left him feeling cozy, his body sinking into the king-sized mattress of a cushion. Standing back up and walking to the edge of the seat, he looked down at where he had come from. The seat was only around a foot and a half off the ground, but even that was three times his size! Quite the drop for him.
Gulping, he cautiously lowered himself from the cushion, carefully climbing down onto the floor once more. Another more aggressive growl from his stomach reminded him what he should be doing in that moment as he walked through the rest of the sitting room into his living room.
It was here that the stallion also loved to spend his time cuddling with his housemate and partner, Shifty. The two of them often spent time together watching the television while his goat partner held him tightly. "Shifty!" Star called out aloud, having just thought about him. "He must be home. He's probably asleep though... " the tiny horse gulped "all the way up those stairs." Star was surprised to hear his voice was significantly higher in pitch! Each word a high pitched whine, massively distorted from the voice he usually used to speak.
A warm smile crossed his face as he reminisced about that goat. Looking towards their television, it was huge! Well- to Star that is. It was actually a fairly modest set, but walking across the vast living room floor, it looked like a movie theater's screen, suspended high above on its cabinet. Well, if I'm stuck this way, at least I've got a big television to enjoy! He gulped again. And a big goat-friend to hold me.
He walked through to their kitchen and onto the tiled floor. While normally rather unexceptional, like everything else they were so much different at his size. Each wide tile separated by a deep grove. He looked up at the cabinets and kitchen counter wondering for a moment how he could reach them. Magic. Duh! He thought as his he channeled his energy into a teleportation spell. Only... it didn't work. Despite a few sparkles he couldn't get his horn to glow!
"Oh buck." He realized, suddenly feeling a lot more helpless at his current size. If he wanted to get up on those counters he would have to try and move a chair from the table which sat in the middle of the kitchen where the two often shared breakfast in the morning. He walked beneath the low hanging blue table cloth, pressing hard on the chair as it slowly budged.
"Yes!" He called out triumphantly as he continued to push the chair over to the edge of the counter. He took a few steps out to the side, observing its placement. It was nearly perfect! He just had to climb up the rounded leg, up the back rest and he would be there!
It was a challenge not to slide down the metal leg, but wrapping his hooves around it and slowly inching- literally- his way up, he managed to arrive on the seat. He took a quick rest. Star wasn't a particularly athletic pony at the best of times and at his current stature it was proving to be a workout to do anything! But he was determined, that growling in his stomach more intense than ever was going to make sure he succeeded.
Climbing up the backrest proved easier, the fabric being easier to grasp as his hooves sunk into it. Finally, he was on the counter. Looking out at the room, he almost felt normal for a moment, his vision close to a height it otherwise would usually be. Okay. But what is there I could cook at this size? He began to think, realizing that most dishes would require numerous trips around his kitchen. In the corner of the counter, he spotted it. The jar of spaghetti! A small pot sat out on top of the stove too! Perfect! Alright... Teleportation is out, but I wonder if I can still telekinetically grab things... Standing at the handle of the pot, he found through a combination of his body's own strength and the massively decreased magical capacity he now had, he was able to lift the pot over to the sink. The fact that it was larger than he was made it all the more impressive a feat!
As he bucked the faucet's handle, cold water began running down into the pot. He didn't need much- and even if he did, he found he couldn't handle the weight. Cautiously, he waddled back to the stove, placing on the burner that had been heating up. Getting the pasta he needed out of the jar proved another challenge as the jar was taller than he was! But standing on the tips of his rear hooves, he was able to reach the lid, with the assistance of his magic, he managed to turn and pop it off, pulling out a few strands of spaghetti, each looking like a javelin to him! Three strands were all he would need at his size.
The grocery bill's gonna be way smaller this way! He thought, a wide smile crossing his face, there were definitely a lot of positive aspects to his new size. He could get in shape just by doing everyday tasks, the trivial and mundane were so much more exciting this way! His television was now his own personal theater and now he just realized he could eat for almost nothing!
The noodles sunk down into the boiling water becoming soft and sticky as they plumped up in size. Star realized that without a colander, he would have a heck of a time draining his pasta, so he decided instead to let the water boil out. There wasn't much there so it didn't take long. When the time was right, he took the pot off of the burner to cool, realizing as well that he didn't have easy access to plates, utensils, butter or pasta sauce! But, he did have his salt shaker- half as tall as he was.
Climbing up inside the pot, with the massive salt shaker under his forehoof, he scraped the three noodles into a pile. He felt the residual heat of the pot against his hooves, like a heated floor, it felt nice! He cautiously tipped the massive salt shaker, shaking out a few grains across his meal. Of course he realized as he did- each grain of salt was huge too! He could easily see them as they stuck to the pasta's surface.
Starting at the end of a noodle, Star slowly ate away. From his perspective each noodle looked to be around an inch and a half thick! It was certainly a bizarre way to eat spaghetti, but he found it to be fun and exciting!
It also wasn't the best tasting meal he had ever made, but at that moment, the combination of his hunger and the hard work it had taken to prepare it made it taste spectacular. As he set down the last couple of bites of the three pasta strands that were his dinner, he sighed contentedly. Star patted his belly, feeling incredibly full from his 'little' dinner.
It was half way across the kitchen counter when he felt it. That familiar but foreign tingling sensation that spread down across his body once more. "No no no no no!" He squeaked helplessly, watching as like before, everything around him began to expand. The countertop tiles he was standing on spreading out under his hooves as he rapidly shed the little size he had left.
His heart raced as he watched everything he was just starting to get used to now towering over him once more. The little stallion became a puny stallion- slightly taller than a quarter inch- less than one centimeter. He now stood one hundredth of his former size, the shock to his body causing him to lose consciousness and slump down onto the inch-long tile that was now wider than he was.
Thoroughly exhausted, the puny pony had managed to sleep through the night, awoken rudely to a thunderous stomping. "Staaaar!" He heard the familiar voice of his buddy. "Hey Star?" Shifty called out, wandering through the house looking for the stallion. He had woken up without Star by his side and had become worried. He was always there when he woke up, his unicorn buddy would crawl into bed beside him late into each night after work.
"Where could he be?" The humongous goat asked as he entered the kitchen. Immediately he noticed a few things out of place. A chair pressed against the cabinets. The pasta jar's lid was open, the small pot on the stove appeared to have been used. For some strange reason he couldn't put together inside of it two pieces of cold spaghetti, each around a half inch long, beside them the salt shaker. Star must have been here. He thought, seeing the signs of what would have been his dinner. But where did he get off to?
Little did he realize at that moment, Star was closer than he thought, standing on the countertop and looking up at his partner. The goat normally stood a head taller than him, even at his normal size, but now- he looked like a four hundred foot tall monster! He reached his dark brown cloven hoof up to the sandy blond hair which sat messily on his head and gave it a quick scratch. His sky blue eyes looking around for clues.
Star jumped around on the spot, trying to catch his attention, yelling as loudly as he could. Emitting little more but a quiet high pitched whine that made the giant's ears twitch. He had to act fast before his friend left him behind. Channeling all the energy he could into his horn, he emitted a series of bright flashes of light, like miniscule fireworks which caught the eye of the giant! Success!
"What the... ?" Shifty called out, seeing the bright flashes of light emitted from a tile on their countertop. Lowering his face to the edge of the counter, his eyes scanned the tiles, eventually spotting the source of the lights. There he stood- the stallion he knew and loved a quarter inch tall on their countertop. "S-STAR?!" He shouted loudly for the puny pony who winced slightly at the sheer volume.
He looked up at him, shouting but one thing back as loudly as he could. "ME!" which confirmed to the goat that it was in fact his partner he was looking at.
The goat bleated nervously. "Star... what happened to you?" He asked, clearly distraught by the sight of his buddy now the size of an ant!
"I... don't really know!" Star called back up, the goat appearing to have a tough time hearing him.
"Okay- don't be scared Star, I'm just gonna..." he said, as with the utmost caution, the goat picked his tiny buddy up in between his cloven hoof, lifting him slowly and cautiously up to the end of his snout, placing him down on it, crossing his eyes and focusing on Star. He was able to see him better this way, and more importantly, could hear Star better.
"I was at the observatory- and I saw this really weird thing- then there was this flash- then I got the biggest headache..." he recounted, not considering the irony of his word choice. "I got home and right as I did I shrunk."
"How did you get up on the countertop?" he asked, confused as to the events that led Star to get here.
"I wasn't this small! ... Not at first. At first I was like... four inches tall or something? I seem to have shrunk just as much again this time..." Star was worried now- if he had shrunk that much each time, if it happened again... He pushed the thought out of his head.
"But that's like- one tenth your normal height- and you look to be just barely taller than a quarter inch now! Star, if that keeps happening to you, we could lose you!" He gritted his teeth, now immensely worried for the safety of his loved one.
"I'm sure we can figure something out..." Star sighed. "Luna!" He called out, having just occurred to him he could take advantage of his connection with the princess.
"Princess Luna?" Shifty asked, not having clued in yet about Star's connection to her through the observatory.
"Yes! If we can get to her, I'm sure she could help me! If not, she might know somepony who could." A glimmer of hope came back to him. The princess of the night would help him regain his former stature, he just knew it!
"Right- but how do we get an audience with her?" Shifty asked, trying to figure out just how they could achieve this plan together.
"She is often busy- but she's not unreasonable. We can just inform the guards of an emergency concerning one of her subjects- and if they are skeptical..." Star gulped. "I guess you could show me off as proof.
Shifty began to nod his head, then stopped himself as he realized Star was still sat on his snout. "That... is actually a pretty good plan!" Shifty said with his trademark grin returning to his face, finding himself a little less worried about his partner's well being.
With little preparation, Shifty had left the house, walking down their stairs and up the long and winding city streets towards the castle. Star was astounded by everything as they walked through the streets. Even the passive breeze caused by simply walking was like a massive and chilling wind storm to the little speck. "Shifty!" Star called up to his friend, causing him to stop in place. "Can you tuck me in your hair or something? It's really cold and breezy out here!"
"Sure thing little buddy." He said teasingly down to Star, finding enjoyment in the way Star reacted to his predicament. He held the stallion between his cloven hoof, each dark brown keratinous wall of his hooves towering over Star. Almost as though he were in a dark alley between a couple of buildings!
Star got a great view of the humongous twin spires that were the goat's horns before being set down into the massive forest of blond hair resting atop his head. Each strand of long flowing hair was like a tree to him, but towered so much taller than any tree he had seen. He couldn't help but marvel at this unique perspective while Shifty made his way over to the castle.
The warmth emanated from the goat's head combined with the gentle rocking and dim lighting led Star to yawn as he settled rather cutely atop his buddy's scalp for a snooze. Star's dreams were rather bizarre. He was at home- normally sized, but anytime he reached for something he would shrink until it was out of range.
Standing in his kitchen and reaching up to his cupboard to grab a plate, his hoof sunk down further and further from it- now the size of a colt at two feet tall. Giving up, he left and sat down on the living room couch, reaching over toward the remote which was on the next cushion over, sinking rapidly down. One foot, half a foot ... smaller and smaller. He didn't stop there however, he continued to shrink and shrink, even past his current size in the real world.
He heard a thunderous stomping as in from the sitting room walked Luna. "Star?" She asked aloud. "Star I know you're here. I could sense you are feeling great distress from this dream."
"LUNA!" He called up, waving to his favorite princess, who quickly caught on to his location.
"Star Bright..." She stood at the end of the couch, towering over you, larger than anything you could imagine, her purple face filling out the entire skyline as she leaned down to look at you. "What has happened to you, my subject? Why do you dream of such strange things?"
"It's not a dream Luna." He sighed. "Well, this is, but it's also real. Right now I'm the size of an ant on top of my friend's head. A goat named Shifty- my partner." He shook his head. "I- I need your help. He should be arriving at the castle any moment now. Please Luna!" He felt himself being pulled away, everything growing dark. "Luna?!" He asked to the void until his eyes shot open, having awoken.
Arriving at the guardhouse at the entrance to the castle, Shifty called up to his friend. "Hey Star! Star! We're here!" He approached the guards standing at the gate. Gulping as he collected himself. "Sir- I'm sorry to bother you, but there's been an emergency and I require the help of Princess Luna herself!"
The guard's ears perked up, it was his duty to protect and serve, so he had to hear out this goat's request. "What is your emergency, sir?" He asked flatly, trying to best do his job and assess the situation.
"I-iiit's my friend! He's sick! Or... something. Look- it's something really weird and he said only Luna could help him." Real smooth Shifty. Star thought, rolling his eyes.
"Where is your friend?" The guard asked, noting the goat was alone. "And would it not be better if you took him to a hospital rather than requesting an audience with Princess Luna?"
"NO!" Shifty called out, "I mean- ugh... My friend- he... he shrank."
The guard's turned his head quizzically, looking at this goat. "He what?"
"Shrank! He's super tiny- like the size of an ant- look- I'll show you!" Shifty reached into his mane, picking up Star. As he did, Star felt that now very familiar tingling sensation once more, rapidly shrinking once more. A tenth his size again- one thousandth of the height he was a day prior... "Here!" Shifty held out his hoof toward the guard, who inspected his hoof, seeing no sign of the now microscopic stallion.
"I don't see anything sir- now if you'd please move along..."
"No! He was here, I swear! Star?! STAR!!" He called out, cautiously scanning each inch of his hoof for his friend. He knew he picked him up, he felt him. He had to be there somewhere, but he just couldn't see. He stood absolutely stiff, not wanting to move his hoof for fear of losing his friend forever.
"Alright sir, I'm going to escort you away from the castle gates now..." The guard said, reaching a hoof out towards him.
"Cease and desist!" A loud and booming voice was heard from overhead. It was Luna! She flew down, stopping in front of the two- well, three really. "You must be Shifty?" Luna asked holding out her hoof to greet him.
"I- I hate to be rude, but I can't..." He said to Luna, looking at her hoof, deciding instead to bend his neck down and kiss her hoof. "It's my friend Star- he- Wait... How do you know my name?" He asked, looking up at her.
"Star had told me all about what has happened through his dreams." She said, a smile on her face. "Now- where is he?"
"That's what I was getting at your majesty- he's ... on my hoof."
Star waved and jumped around, hoping he could catch the attention of Luna who like in his dream now filled up the entire sky for him in between the two tremendous mountains that were his friend's cloven hoof. "I do not see him." Luna admitted. "His situation must be worse than he had reported!"
"Y-yeah." Shifty gulped and bleated nervously. "I think he must have just shrank again."
"Come with me." She ordered, the guard rushing ahead to open the gate for the Princess and her companions.
Shifty followed closely, cautiously walking on three hooves while holding his fourth as still as he could. Luna led them into the castle, passing through many great halls and long hallways, they arrived at Luna's personal quarters. Shifty had been amazed, never having seen the inside of a castle before. Literally everything looked either really old, really expensive, or both.
"Take a seat, I shall be right back." Luna had ordered, leaving Shifty alone with Star in her quarters.
The walls were a dark blue, matching closely with Luna herself. The roof stood many times his height, windows that spanned their entire length, covered in drapes made from velevet which drooped down over them. He could only imagine what it must look like from Star's perspective, everything that was so huge even to him over a thousand times larger for the microscopic speck of a stallion.
Luna had arrived in short order, carrying a large and ancient looking microscope, with a deep breath, she blew on it, kicking up a thick cloud of dust that made her cough. "So that we might find Star." She placed the microscope on a desk, waving Shifty over. "Just place you hoof here and we will find him, do not worry."
Shifty nodded and obliged, placing his hoof on the stage as Luna fiddled with the device, carefully scanning the surface of his hoof much as Star carefully scanned the vast expanse of space himself every day. "Aha!" She declared, a wide smile on her face. "I have found him!"
Star looked up at the tremendous lenses overhead, hovering there, staring at him. He waved his hoof confirming to Luna that he was alive and well. "Take a look!" Luna had said, "Star is just fine."
Placing his eye to the eyepiece, he looked through, seeing his friend standing there, able to see how tremendous the ridges of his hoof looked compared to the stallion that stood less than a millimeter tall. "Great!" he said, looking back at Luna, "but what can we do to help him?"
"I shall take care of him, do not worry." She said reassuringly as she looked through the eyepiece once more, her long horn glowing as she focused her magic around him.
Star was lifted away from his friend's hoof, suspended what seemed to him like thousands of feet in the air. He knew she wouldn't drop him, but his heart wasn't believing it, giving him the largest adrenaline rush of his life! Luna had placed him on the bottom of her lavender colored shoe, carrying him much like Shifty had done to that point. Despite how flat it appeared at a surface glance, from Star's perspective, he could see every boulder sized grain of dirt, every valley-like scratch on its surface.
"Wait! Shifty called out, standing up and following behind her. "I have to see that he's okay!"
His passion brought a smile to Princess Luna. "I can see you care deeply for Star. Please follow me. He will be just fine." Luna had carried Star and led Shifty into the castle's royal archives. Here there were books, many were hundreds to thousands of years old! Scanning their titles carefully, Luna pulled down a hefty tome, setting it on the table, another cloud of dust kicking up.
They need to hire some cleaners in this place. Shifty thought as he watched her flip through the pages with her magic. "Aha!" She called out, reading the passage carefully before shutting her eyes and focusing all of her energy into Star. Her horn glowed brightly as her aura surrounded him.
Star felt Luna's energy, the two of them bonded as another strange sensation filled him. It felt stretching first thing in the morning- but the sensation was prolonged, enhanced. It spread across his body, feeling like he was being tugged in every direction, slowly watching in amazement as everything began to shrink around him!
"It's working! It's workinggg!" He squeaked excitedly, bouncing around on the spot as much to Shifty's amazement, he could see Star with his bare eyes once more!
"Star!" Shifty called out, hovering his face at the edge of Luna's hoof, his friend now an inch tall. A huge smile was on his face, so happy- so relieved that his friend was finally safe.
She had set him down as he continued to grow, the tremendous goat picking him up and hugging him when he was a half-foot tall, pulling him tightly into the fluff of his chest. As Star continued to swell back up to normal size, a huge grin crossed his face as well. Now that the fear of shrinking forever had passed, he could fully enjoy just how fun the experience was in every other way!
Star now stood at his normal height- still shorter than the other two, as Shifty had done before, unprompted he held up and kissed Luna's forehoof. "Thank you your majesty!" He exclaimed, hugging her tightly before stepping back and looking to the ground. "S-sorry." He said, feeling slightly ashamed at his sudden unprompted affection, worried he went too far.
"Do not worry Star, for I am glad you are safe." Luna stepped up and hugged him tightly in return, eliciting a high pitched squeal of joy from the stallion who felt more alive and energetic than ever.
"Now what was it that caused your condition?" Luna asked. "I believe you were about to say before you had woken up."
"OH!" Star exclaimed. "It was something I discovered- a-at the observatory!" His voice was frantic, recalling back what had started this chain of events. It was less than a day prior, but it felt like forever. Everything was so much more exciting when he was small.
"There was this strange celestial body in the sky- I couldn't really make it out, no matter what I tried it was blurry. Suddenly there was a bright and blinding flash- followed by a massive headache... I went home and that's when it started happening."
"Strange..." Luna declared, never having heard of such a strange phenomena in her thousands of years alive. "Take great caution before you proceed in your studies young Star Bright. But I should be able to help you again if you find yourself in a similar situation once more."
"Thank you, my Princess." Star bowed, bucking Shifty's hoof and prompting him to do the same. "Yes, thank you for everything." Shifty bowed.
The two of them left the castle, walking back home, it was only noon, but they both felt done for the day. "Well, that was certainly something." Shifty said, smiling at his friend as they walked side by side once more. "Bet it feels weird walking after being carried around all morning, huh?" He snickered, finding the chance to tease his friend, something he loved to do more than anything.
"Y-yeah." Star said, a slight blush forming on his face.
"You looked super cute like that y'know." Shifty said, nuzzling the pony's cheek, bringing an even more intense blush to his face.
"Nnn-no way. I'm not cute. I'm never cute." He denied it. He hated the thought of admitting to it, but he certainly didn't mind all that had happened to him, especially now that he was safe and normally sized once more.
"We should totally do that again sometime- but y'know, in a more controlled way." Shifty snickered as he saw his friend's blue face glowing red and hot. He nudged his buddy's shoulder. "Whaddya think?" he asked.
"Mmm-maybe." Star reluctantly answered, he wanted to do that more than anything, but if Shifty so much as told anyone that, he would pap him good!
And so after a rather grand adventure together, the stallion and the goat finally arrived home, flopping out on their couch as they had so often done before. Shifty wrapped his arm around the stallion's chest as they watched the television.
Aw buck. Star thought as he imagined his theater sized screen again. I do want it.
