The Murder in Fillydelphia
Load Full StoryThe Murder in Phillydelphia
Daisy woke up feeling rather happy and bubbly that morning, compared to her normally drowsy awakenings. She looked to the other side of her bed and seeing that her husband was not there, assumed he had left early for his job as a construction worker pegasus. Pulling all four hooves out of bed, she trotted to her bathroom where she brushed her teeth and smoothed her mane with her magic. Finally, when she had convinced herself that she looked presentable, she went to go check on the twins. Both were earth ponies but Blossom was a fresh green with a red hilighted mane, while Fudge was a dark chocalate-brown with light brown and white in his mane. The room was a mixture of their colors, swirling from the fan in the center of the ceiling to the cribs place on either side of the room which was quite disorienting to say the least.
As Daisy trotted into the nursery, she noticed two things; that only Blossom was in her crib and that there was a small trail of blood leading from Fudge's crib to the bathroom door. Her motherly sense kicked and Daisy galloped to the door trying to convince herself that everything was okay. "He probably just got out and scraped a hoof or got a bloody nose. No biggie" But upon opening the door, she couldn't believe her eyes. There on the floor was her husband, Stele Hammer, cradling Fudge close to his musky gray chest. "Oh honey! What happened? Is Fudge okay?!" She reached out to hold her elder twin. Suddenly Stele's head whipped round, his eyes crazed and mouth coated in a mixture of blood and fur, and let out a guttural growl. Only then did Daisy realize why Fudge was so still; his once beautifully unmarred neck was missing a chunk and blood spewed openly from it. Bite marks were dotted from his flank to his small, fuzzy ears. A scream died in her throat as her husband lunged for her, the dead infant falling to the ground limply. On her way out she noticed Blossom peering over the railing of her crib and gurgling incoherently. Surrounding her with a field of magic, Daisy grabbed her on the way out and plonked the little filly on her back.
