AN: Sorry for another two week wait guys, I don't have a good excuse. I have two; my brother has been using the computer a lot more often to play WoW, plus I've had lots of homework. Hope you all enjoy the chapter though. I still don't know how it takes me so long to get working on a chapter when it only takes like an hour to type.

“Scootaloo, Scootaloo wake up.”

The orange Pegasus slowly started to open her eyes to see Sweetie Belle looking at her concerned. “Scootaloo are you awake?”

“Ug, yeah I think so.” She sat up while rubbing her head. “I feel a bit dizzy though.”

“Yeah it’ll wear off soon, it did for me. So where do you think we are?” Sweetie asked observing their surroundings.

Scootaloo looked around as well seeing that they were in a dark room with only a single small window for light. Scootaloo walked over to the window and peered outside to see Celestia’s castle across from them. “I guess we’re somewhere inside of that dark castle. Applebloom is supposed to be somewhere in here but how do we get to her?”

Looking around again they noticed that there wasn’t even a door. The only other thing in the room was a small note in the middle of the room. Curious, Sweetie walked towards it and read aloud what was on it. “If you find yourself stuck, just sit and look by; for there are more to things than meets the eye. Isn’t that part of the riddle he made?”

“I think so but what does it mean? We can’t just sit here; we have to find a way out of here to find Applebloom.”

Scootaloo was now feeling every part of the wall to find some sort of secret door while Sweetie Belle was just sitting in the middle of the room next to the note. “Um Scoot maybe we should just sit here like the riddle says.”

Scootaloo let out a sigh as she sat next to Sweetie. The two simply sat for what seemed like hours until Scootaloo yelled out in frustration. “This isn’t working Sweetie. Nothing is happening.”

“What about that?” Sweetie asked pointing towards a small part of the wall that seemed to be uneven with the rest of the wall. “I don’t think that it was like that earlier.”

“Guess there’s only one way to find out.” Scootaloo walked over towards the tile and placed her front hooves on it as she pushed as hard as she could but it didn’t budge. “Is this thing stuck with super glue or something? It won’t move.”

Sweetie walked over next to Scootaloo and chuckled. “Maybe you need to pull it instead of pushing it.”

“Oh right I knew that.” Scootaloo pulled on the tile as it slipped off with ease. She looked through the small hole that was now through the wall and saw a golden eye with red pupils. Startled, she fell backwards while laughter was heard from the hole. “Who’s there? Show yourself,” Scootaloo said standing back up glaring at the now empty hole.

“Oh where are my manners?”

Once again Scootaloo jumped in surprise when she heard the voice from behind her. She turned to come face to face with the creature that was called Discord. “I’m Discord, the spirit of chaos and disharmony. Although I would think that the two of you would remember me. After all you two and Applebloom’s fighting was what brought me back to Equestria the first time and funny enough, Applebloom is the reason for me being released a second time. At least now I know who to call if I get trapped in stone again.”

“What do you want from us?” Scootaloo asked still glaring at the spirit.

“Where’s Applebloom?” Sweetie asked hiding behind Scootaloo.

“Oh you two don’t need to worry about little Applebloom. You two aren’t the ones that are supposed to find her anyway so it doesn’t really matter where she is. And as for what I want from you well, Applebloom does need some friends to help her. Poor little thing is almost over the edge of no return.”

“What do you mean?” Scootaloo asked.

“She’s more than just heartbroken right now, she’s nearly soulbroken.”

“Soulbroken?” Sweetie asked puzzled.

“Soulbroken is simply a way of saying when a pony is damaged emotionally to the point where they no longer wish to exist and she is only a step from it.”

“So if you aren’t going to tell us where she is then why are you telling us this? And who’s the one who is supposed to find her?” Scootaloo asked.

“There is only one pony who can fix Applebloom which they don’t even know how to help her yet but you two could probably at least back her away from the edge. But what if I told you both that I could give you your cutie marks right now?” Discord asked smirking causing the two fillies to get excited.

“You can? How?” They asked in unison.

“Normally even magic cannot make a cutie mark appear but since my magic changes the norm, I can give them to you in ten seconds flat. But nothing in the world is free. You will have a choice to make,” He said as he snapped his fingers making a door appear in the wall that lead outside. “You can get your cutie marks but leave Applebloom behind forever or stay here and possibly never get them. Your choice.”

“So if we choose to get our cutie marks we would never see Applebloom again?” Sweetie asked with her ears lowered.

“Indeed. But here is some food for thought little fillies; you can only get one cutie mark in life but you can get thousands of friends.”

The two fillies were dead silent as they thought of what they should do. They had wanted their cutie marks more than anything in all of Equestria but would it be worth it to have them but not have Applebloom? Scootaloo looked over to Sweetie Belle who simply nodded her head in understanding. “Thanks Discord… but no thanks. You’re right about us being able to get lots of friends in life, but none of them will be the same without Applebloom being there with us. Now where is she?” Scootaloo asked simply gaining a chuckle from the draconequus.

“Why whatever do you mean? She’s right there,” He said motioning behind them. They turned around to see none other than Applebloom with an almost blank stare but they didn’t notice as they ran over and hugged her tightly.

“Applebloom you’re alright,” Scootaloo said overjoyed.

“We thought we wouldn’t see you again,” Sweetie added with tears in her eyes.

The two felt Applebloom tap them with her front hooves as they let go. Applebloom started to gasp for air as the two fillies apologized. “Why are you here Applebloom? Why didn’t you tell us anything? We were worried sick about you,” Sweetie asked but didn’t get any response from the earth filly except for a lowered head. “Applebloom?”

“She can’t speak,” Discord reminded the two fillies as they thought back to the riddle.

“But when you find her she will speak to none, until you give her what makes two souls into one,” Scootaloo recited but still looking puzzled. “But what does that mean?”

“Neither of you need to worry about that since neither of you have it. Only one pony can give it to her but she doesn’t even realize that she has it yet. Stubborn as a mule I swear.”

Sweetie Belle suddenly came up with an idea. “Wait I think I know the answer. I’ve read some of Rarity’s romance stories and they always talk about how the other pony they love is like the other half of their soul. It’s love isn’t it?”

“Very good young Sweetie but like I said, neither of you can give her the love she needs to speak again. Only one pony can do that. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go pay a visit to each of the elements. Ta-ta,” He said as he vanished in a white light leaving the two fillies alone.

“Well at least we found… wait where is Applebloom?” Scootaloo asked no longer seeing her.

“She was here just a second ago. Did Discord take her somewhere else?” Sweetie wondered.

“Applebloom, Applebloom where are you?” Applejack called out as she walked through a corridor. She had gained consciousness only a few minutes ago but had immediately begun looking everywhere for her little sister. “Applebloom please if you can hear me come out. I’m going to bring you back home. Applebloom.” No matter how many times she called though she didn’t get any kind of answer. “Well Discord did say that even if we find her that she won’t be able to say anything.”

Frustrated she kicked the closest part of the wall with as much force as she could muster putting a small dent in it. “When I get my hooves on you Discord, you’re dead.”  She continued to kick the wall repeatedly in anger until she fell to the floor in exhaustion as tears started to form in her eyes. “Applebloom… where are you? I… need you.”

For a moment she had thought she had heard someone else crying as well right next to her. She even thought that she heard Applebloom speak. I… miss you sis.
