//-------------------------------------------------------// Ezio - Fate lies within -by RainbowCrash88- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Ok. I got so many requests to continue this story that i said: "To tarturus with it!" and wrote more. Enjoy! ~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~ Ezio perched precariously atop the town central spire. The view offered him the best vantage point over any other assassin in the city. Now, all he had to do was find his target... "Your target is a tricky one. He has many guards, all of which are trained to kill. Due to this, you will probably not be able to go head-on and face the guards to get to the target. So, only kill the target, and make your escape. You will receive 5000 gold." Ezio was amazed at the price he was being offered. This wasn't your typical offer. He was being offered a fortune! He had to be careful though. Ezio calmed his mind. "Who is my target and where can I find him?" The obviously wealthy aristocrat laughed. "His name is Governor Tento. And he will be at the Constantine Palais, tomorrow night. Don't fail to hit the target. If you kill anyone else, you will not receive your money." Ezio was shocked. A Governor? This was by far his biggest task yet. "I will return in two days time with the news of how I fared. I will expect my money to be waiting for me." "Oh do not worry. You will get your due." Ezio shook his head. He had to focus. His mind was wandering through his life again. This certainly wasn't the time for that. Down at the Palais, the guards of the governor were still standing outside. Ezio thought through his plan. He would dive off the spire he was perched on, flying straight at his target who would be no doubt crowded by people wanting to get near him. Before he reached the ground, he would open his parachute, by so doing he would right himself, let go of the parachute, and then use the Governor as his fall breaker. It would be an instant death, his hidden blades easily able to split the Governors skull. He had practiced far too long for this not to work. Suddenly, he saw peasants gather around the Palais. Now was the time. The Governor came out through the doors, and peasants started pushing against the guards. Ezio rose, turned away from the scene, and dove backwards off the spire, turning in midair to keep facing the right direction. Then, something in his mind told him something was wrong. The Governor was hailing a carriage. He wasn't stopping to turn to his adoring fans. Ezio opened his eyes wide in fear. If he wanted his money, he had to kill the governor. He couldn't kill anyone else. He came to a realization. Ezio was going to die. And there was nothing he could do about it. If he opened the chute, at this speed it would break apart. If he used his plan on an innocent citizen, he would not get his money. The Governor got in the carriage, and the guards climbed on the back as it drove away. Ezio screamed, putting his hands in front of his face as the ground quickly approached... Ezio was lying on the floor of his parents simple peasant home, supporting himself with one arm, cowering before an Assassin who had just killed both his parents. The Assassin looked the very picture of a horrible dream. Was this the end of Ezio’s short life? The Assassin looked at him and then knelt down to eye level with Ezio. "What is your name boy?" Ezio wanted to scream, but couldn't, his throat feeling as if it could only do what was asked of it by the Assassin. "E-Ezio Au-Auditore." The cloaked killer reached up and removed his hood, revealing a face of kindness that Ezio had only ever seen in the eyes of his father whenever he wasn't drunk. "My name, is Romanico. If I had known that your parents had you, a son, I would have refused to kill them. I cannot stress how sorry I am. Can I ask you a question Ezio?" Ezio saw tears forming in Romanicos eyes. Ezio nodded, still in shock from the sight of his dead parents. "May I make up for my error and mistake by raising you Ezio? I know it is hard to ask, but I have no other way to apologize." Ezio wiped away his own tears and stood up. Romanico stood as well. Ezio reached for Romanicos hand, and was pulled into a hug. Ezio cried, allowing the tears to flow freely. As he cried he thought he heard Romanico crying softly... Ezio Dreamed. It was not a normal dream though. He kept seeing the man he came to call his father in his dreams, telling him to wake up. To wake up. “Wake up. Wake up Ezio! Your first day of training is about to begin...” Ezio opened his eyes, and quickly closed them again. The light bit into his eyes like thousands of needles pressed into his finger. He opened his eyes slower this time. The sky was blue, with a few light clouds. Had he been asleep this whole time? He tried to sit up and instantly felt as if he had never used his body. He instead rolled over, and got on all fours. Maybe resting a bit would help. He was in a small clearing in the forest, light filtering through the trees. He could hear voices not too far away, the sound coming from what seemed like a small village. Good. Maybe he could figure out where he was. He checked his equipment. Cloak was still in good condition. He had his parachute, and it was also in good condition. This was surprising. Everything was like new. He checked his hidden blades and suddenly noticed something. Those weren't his hands. He had hooves! His head spun around to look at his body. He was a Horse!? He started frantically looking at himself all over. This couldn't be happening! He was human! Not a horse of all things! What had happened to him to make him like this!? He was indeed a Horse. A smaller one at that. What could this mean? ~~~~ //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 Ezio Chapter 2 ~Hidden Dangers~ Ezio cowered in fear, unable to understand this new world he saw. Maybe, he was just having a nightmare. No, that wasn't right either. Ezio had no idea why he was here. He drew his blade, and made a small cut on his foreleg, wincing a bit from the stinging sensation. This definitely was no dream, and his blades had never been sharper. The sound of the village was strong in his new and sensitive ears. He would start there, finding nourishment, as it felt that he had not eaten for weeks. Ezio walked through the multiple trees, soon chancing upon a straw roof house. He hated these things. Above anything else, these had the most slippery footing. He also hated it because it meant staying low to the ground. Low to the ground, meant that guards could easily see him. He didn't know if the Templar Guard were in this village, and he certainly didn't want to arouse any suspicion. Eyeing the town square, Ezio saw many Horse...ish animals all walking around the square talking. All multicolored. What kind of Freakshow Circus was this? What were these things? Was he one of them? Why was he able to ask so many questions? First thing to catch his eye was a peddlers booth. A message on the banner above read: "Finest Apples In Equestria." Fruit. A good start, mainly because it had sugars. Ezio stood up from his hiding place and walked towards the stand, drawing his hood over his face. Halfway across the Square he heard a voice scream: "INCOMING!!!" Slam. He had no time to react. Ezio flew unmercifully across the square, legs flailing wildly, eyes as big as dinner plates. This wasn't flying, this was horror. A wall suddenly took up his attention. A Rainbow Colored mare galloped over and helped him up. He got up shakily. "Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh, I am soooo sorry! Are you alright?" Ezio shook his head clear of the pretty little birdies that were circling his head. "Oh yes, sure, I’m feeling great! After all, I just flew into a wall!" Ezio stumbled off, not quite sure if what he said was true. The Rainbow Colored mare with wings of all things just stood watching him as he stumbled away. After he had rounded a corner, he looked back to see if the mare was following. Instead, she stood there, a suspicious look on her face, then trotted off. She trotted off in the direction of a tree just outside the town. Ezio was still recovering from that disgraceful introduction. Ezio watched as his Surrogate Father sparred with a fellow Assassin. His father, A Disciple of D'Sparil, was the best of them all. None could match his skill in the ring, and even champions would fall before him. Ezio was 18 now, and was in his prime as an Assassin. Ezio was also undefeated, only his father having an advantage over him. Only once had he gotten the upperhand, quickly to be fooled, and have the tables turned on him. That was the biggest lesson. Only a fool would think they had  the upperhand, and then become clumsy. Romanico was a Mentor, Father, and above all, a Hero to Ezio. He couldn't ask for more. Romanico, a good teacher, was quick to notice habits, and implemented them in techniques. It seemed that Ezio had this natural gift as well, and always used it in a spar. When he and his Father sparred, they would both use this tactic, and more often than not, the match would go on for hours. Lately, there had been no defeats, just a draw at the end of each session. The bright young mind of Ezio would invent new techniques, upon which he would tell his father, who would perfect them himself and teach to Ezio. Nothing could be better until one fateful day... Ezio lay in the sun against a tree, sleeping deeply. After a crash like that he needed it badly. But alas, it was not to last. *bonk* He woke up with a start, rubbing his head. He noticed an apple lying on the ground, two feet away. He hadn't even noticed that he was under an apple tree when he got here. He grabbed the apple and took a bite. Tarturus be damned. This apple was a taste of heaven itself. And Ezio had just taken a bite of it. "I tell ya' Big Macintosh, this years crop oughta take us straight up yonder to Canterlot this year. As long as Applebloom don't manage to mess things up again." Ezio almost choked, quickly leaping onto the branch of the tree above him. "Eeyup." "I just hope I can manage to buck all these apples in time." "Now just a minute AJ. I may be a little sore, but you can't buck all these apples alone, and you know that." "Is that a challenge?!" "Now now AJ. Remember what happened last year? Besides, The Grand Market isn't for a month yet." The tone in the feminine voice calmed, even becoming slightly ashamed. "I suppose yer right Big Mac. I'll just buck what I can and leave the rest for you when ya'll get better." The deep voice softened, taking on a "OH THANK GOD" tone. "That’s a good Idea AJ." "How 'bout I make you some soup inside Mac? That sound good to you?" "Eeyup." The two ponies trotted away, traveling directly beneath the branch Ezio was perched on. The female stopped, looking at the ground. Lying there was Ezio’s apple, a single bite taken out of it. Ezio froze, not daring to breath. Never had he been so careless. The pony picked up the apple and looked at it. "Con'sarn it Applebloom. I keep telling her to eat the entire apple but everytime I keep coming out to the orchard I find this. APPLEBLOOOOOMMM!!!" The pony trotted away again, and Ezio breathed a sigh of relief. He reached for another apple and took a bite of heaven itself... Ezio cried, holding the limp and lifeless form of his father in an embrace. Romanico was dead, ambushed by fellow brethren. Their jealousy and hatred for Romanicos skills had driven them to kill the very one who had taught them all. A single Assassin crouched behind Ezio, a hand on his shoulder. "Ezio. Listen to me. It's not your fault. It never was-" Ezio cut the Assassin off, eyes filled with fire. "That does not matter Taiya. I loved him more than I loved my mother when she was alive. This man was everything to me. I can't just let him go!" Taiya sighed. "You have been holding his body for hours now. Its time to move on, So that you can avenge your father." Ezio looked at the face of his father, tears blurring his vision, making his father appear angelic in the moonlight. "He was sent to me. If not an angel, he was sent by one. I owe my life to him." "Ezio. I know this is hard for you. But we will give him the farewell only an angel could deserve. Many still love him, and he cannot rest in peace until you avenge his death. He would do the same for you." Ezio wiped away the tears in his eyes, and stood up, struggling under the dead weight of the body. The docks were close, and Ezio headed towards them. Taiya followed, wondering what he had in mind. Ezio reached the docks, and getting on a boat, lay his father down on a flat surface. Ezio raised the sails, and leaving a slow burn rope, cast the boat off. In the bay, the boat burst into flames, sending Romanico on a final journey. "Peace be with you father. Be it above, or be it below, may you always find rest." Ezio turned and headed home, Taiya following him down the lonely pathway... Ezio skirted the shadows of a building, being careful to avoid attention. The town square was in full view again, but this time he was going to be more alert. He walked into view, and travelled in the direction of a pastry shop. He passed a pony, quickly swiping from them, and reached the door holding a bag of money. This would be easier than he thought. Too easy almost. He opened the door of the shop and went inside, heading for the counter. Pastries filled the shop as if it was a dream. It was like a confectionary from his hometown. He stood staring at all the goods, mouth agape. And then, rather suddenly, he heard a voice behind him. "Can I help you?" Ezio screamed and turned so quickly he fell flat on his face. Accident #2. His head had received enough brutality for one day. He got up. "Where did you come from?" He asked incredulously. "From the back kitchen silly- Wait a second, I don't remember seeing you around here before! Are you new in town?" Ezio was surprised by the pink pony’s energy. Maybe she ate too much of the sweets in the shop. "I suppose you could say that, yes." The pony before him started to rise in the air. Before he could say anything more, the pony changed shape and color before his eyes, then shot out the front doors in a matter of milliseconds. Ezio stood watching the front door in dumbfound awe, his right eye twitching a bit, jaw hanging slack once more. "Sorry about that." Ezio screamed again, spinning around once more only to fall on his face again. Why? Of all beings, why him? He didn't deserve this pain! A yellowish Stallion wearing a small hat peered down at him. "Oh! Uh, sorry about that too. You ok down there?" Ezio stood up, his eyes rolling in different directions. He shook his head to get rid of those pesky little bird. "Yea, I'm fine. I think." "I'm so sorry. Pinkie Pie is like that." "Pinkie Pie? That’s her name? How did she do that?" "We can't explain it really. The only explanation is that it’s just, 'Pinkie Pie.' Nothing more, nothing less. Can I get you a couple muffins? We just took them out of the oven, and I think you should have some of them to make up for your first meeting with Pinkie." "I would appreciate that thanks." "Just sit over there and I'll bring them out to you." Ezio sat down at a table by the window gratefully. What a day this was turning out to be... ~~~~~ //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 Ezio - Fate lies within Chapter 3 Ezio Dreamed. Dreamed He was atop the spire. He leapt into the air. And the ground came at him, opening its jaws wide... Ezio woke up screaming. It was nighttime, and he was in a tree again. Very uncomfortable. Leaping down from the tree, Ezio twisted expertly in the air, landing on all four hooves. He hadn't lost his touch. He took a step forward, and something crinkled under his hoof. It was a pink envelope, with 3 round objects with strings hanging from them on the cover. Strange, who left this here? The envelope was addressed: "To The Stranger in the tree." Ezio listened and looked around, wondering if anyone was there. How did the writer of this letter find him? He opened the envelope, and pulled out the contents, reading them with interest. "Dear Stranger, you were asleep when I brought this letter to you, so hopefully you find it. At sundown, come to the library. We have a suprise for you!" Ezio could have sworn that he heard a voice speaking what he read. A very, familiar voice. Looking at the darkening sky, he noticed the sun slowly setting. He better be going. He still had to find out where this, "Library" was. What on Earth was a Library? Ezio trotted in the direction of town, hoping for the best... "Hey, where do you think you're-" The soldier fell to the ground. He didn't even have a chance to defend himself. Ezio began climbing again. This building was far to large. The empire was full of idiots. Idiots who somehow managed to build gigantic structures, without killing themselves in the process. But then again, that was the purpose of the assassins. To destroy the empire. To end the slavery plauging the nation. Ezio reached a terrace. Ten guards were patrolling, and 3 more levels of climbing awaited him. "OH COME ON!" A tree rose into vision. After asking one of the townsfolk for directions, Ezio had found the Library. As far as he was concerned, a tree, turned into a house, was ridiculous. How did the tree stay alive? Reaching the doorway, Ezio peered in through the keyhole. No lights inside. That meant no one was home. He opened the door silently, and closed it behind him. He took a step forward, and the room lit up like fireworks. "SUPRISE!" Ezio screamed once more, Leaping up to the ceiling, hidden blades attaching him firmly to it. "Hi there!" Ezio looked beside himself to see that same pink pony standing on the ceiling looking at him. He screamed again and fell towards the floor... Taiya was there... Taiya... She was beautiful... She always was beautiful... Ezio didn't know what to say to her... He searched for words... But nothing came out... Taiya was leaving now... Come back... Ezio Groaned. His head hurt like a blow to the head from a solid wooden beam. He raised his hoof and felt a bandage on his head. His foreleg was bandaged as well. He opened his eyes, and looked around. He was in a bed, in a closed room. This couldn't be good. Ezio quickly looked around, seeing his robe and weapons on a table on the other side of the room. He suddenly felt very uncomfortable. The door clicked, and Ezio quickly closed his eyes. "Hey stranger. Wake up!" Ezio opened his eyes, to see a purple pony, with a horn. A horn? Now that was really messed up. "W-where am I?" The purple pony giggled. "In the library. You were so suprised by Pinkies suprise party, that you leapt onto the ceiling. Then you came down, and sprained your leg, not to mention knocking yourself out. So, we brought you up here for the night!" Great. Now Ezio had to stay immobile, and maybe be discovered. "Uhhh, Thanks?" "No Problem!" The purple pony motioned towards the table. "You know, for a pony, you sure have a lot of weapons." "Well, ummm, I kinda need them for what I do." "And just what do you do?" Ezio was rather unsure of how to explain this one... "So, you were hired to kill ponies? What kind of pony are you?" Ezio had just spent the last hour explaining how his weapons worked, and also what his occupation was. Twilight Sparkle, the 'Unicorn' he had been staying with, didn't take it too well. "It was a job, and it brought money. Back then it was survival. But now, its not really my thing anymore." Twilight seemed to relax at this statement. At least she didn't know about his humanity. "Well, since its not really your, 'thing' anymore, can you make me a promise?" "Uhhh, yea I guess?" "Don't kill anypony please? It's not something that brings a pleasant image to mind." Ezio was actually ok with that request. It was obvious that his form of government was not in this world, so maybe it wasn't needed. "I promise." "Good!" Twilight said, giggling happily. "I'll go get you your breakfast!" Twilight left the room, and closed the door beind her. Three days worth and already Ezio could feel the insanity getting to him. He didn't like it. All the ponies in this town were crazy. No doubt about it. There was something about Twilight Sparkle. Some sort of aura, or force she carried around wherever she went. If anything, it certainly was strong with her. Twilight opened the door again, carrying a tray with food on it. Except one itty bitty fact. The tray was floating. An aura surrounded her horn, and the tray as well. "How do you do that?" "Ummm, Duh! Magic? Haven't you ever seen a Unicorn before?" Well, that explained a lot... WHEW! Sorry, but this chapter has been shortened because im currently job hunting. Just lost my current one, so away i go. Updates wont come as often, but i'll try my best! Enjoy! EDIT: ANd omg! I finally got another job and have timez to update and stuffs, so yay! life has been a living hell. no joke. Find the two references hidden. cookies to you if you do. Hint: Star Wars, and the one to the show is more obvious. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 Ezio - Fate lies Within Chapter 4 Strange Ramblings Ezio had explained what he knew to Twilight, and for some reason, he felt a huge relief for promising not to kill. No, there was no way he was becoming soft already. He sighed, and carefully positioning his sprained leg, now wrapped in a bandage, he closed his eyes and contemplated some of the things Twilight said. Maybe she was right. Maybe this government cared about its people, unlike those stupid Borgia.  He had gotten so close to bringing them to ruin. If he had just..... And that's when Ezio Realized something.....something he was enraged that he actually missed......it was a setup....THE WHOLE THING WAS A SETUP!!! When Ezio had walked into that nobles study, the noble had hurriedly put something into his desks drawer. He hadn't payed any mind to it. But it was a bag. Of Money. The information wasn't false, but his target being pressed by the crowd was. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Ezio screamed with rage, and in so doing, jumped out of bed, landing on his sprained ankle. He screamed again, this time from extreme pain and agony. He stumbled headfirst into the wall, and blackness enveloped his mind again... ~~~~~ "Are you sure about this job?" Ezio had been polishing his weapons profusely that night. Taiya had been there, and sensed something off. Of course, he had to tell her, it was assassin code. "Yes Taiya, I promise you. This noble has been of use to me before, and i have kept him safe for it. He is opposed to the empire, and therefore, why should i worry?" Taiya seemed visibly upset. "If you say so Etzio. Just be careful." He hated it when people pronounced his name like that.... ~~~~~ A cream colored Pegasus was re-bandaging the poor earth ponys leg. She couldn't help but feel sorry for him. She moved on to his head. She knew exactly what happened, and she knew it had been painful, just from the lump on his head. It almost looked like a horn was trying to burst out and become a full fledged accessory. She winced, partly from the knowledge of the pain, and partly from the idea about a horn bursting out of his forehead like some sort of alien. She quickly rid her head of the horrifying thought, and put her medical skills to work..... Twilight on the other hand, was visibly worried. She had heard 2 screams, one of pure anger, a second of pain, then she rushed upstairs to find Ezio lying on the floor facing the wall, a slowly developing bump on his head. She placed him back in bed, then had quickly teleported to Fluttershys cottage to enlist Fluttershys medical help. She felt sorry for the guy, he was so nimble from what he had told her, but here, he couldn't get out of bed without slamming into a wall. The poor pony must of had his share of excitement today. "Twilight?" Twilight quickly whirled around to see Fluttershy at the top of the stairs, her medical kit folded under her wing. "Oh goodness! How is He!?" "He will be ok Twilight. He has that nasty bump, which i took care of, but you need to keep an eye on him. he might have a concussion, so stay with him tonight ok? We can't have him going into a coma." Twilight sighed in relief. "Thank you so much for your help Fluttershy, its so wonderful to have a friend like you!" Fluttershy squeaked in surprise and blushed as Twilight grasped her in a bear hug, making her drop her kit. Fluttershy had been hugged by bears before, but that was nothing compared to this. "*squeak* Uhhm, *gasp* Twilight?" "Yes?" "*gasp* i cant, breathe Twi." Twilight quickly set the poor pony down. Fluttershy felt the oxygen and blood rush to her head, and stumbled around a bit before regaining her composure. "Oh Fluttershy I'm so sorry! Are you ok?" "Twilight, *pant pant* you would most likely win a bear hug contest against *gasp* a bear..." Twilight immediately remembered that she had never actually been able to remove that strength spell she had used for that time Rainbow Dash had gotten pinned down by logs, and Twilights magic wasn't strong enough to lift them. She used a spell, and lifted the logs with her hooves instead. She had probably crushed Poor Fluttershy. "Oh My Goodness I'm so sorry about that! I keep forgetting about my strength!" "Its ok Twilight, I'm sure I will be fine. Angel Bunny is probably worried about me right now, could you teleport me back home please?" "Yes of course. Thank you again for your help Fluttershy." With that, Twilights horn glowed, and Fluttershy vanished in a poof of light. Twilight loved her new teleportation spell. Moving objects or ponies without having to move herself as well was useful. Very Useful. She gathered a few books to read, (a few in this case being around 27) and headed up to her guest room. As she passed her own room, she quickly wrote a letter to spike, and placed it beside the sleeping baby dragons bed. When he woke up, he would know why she wasn't in her own bed. She entered the guest room, and sat down on the recliner chair. Wow....this thing was soft. Why wasn't this thing in her own room? ~~~~~ Ezio was still atop the spire in this dream. Except perched this time with him, was Taiya. Why was she here? This wasn't her job. Looking closer, Ezio realized he wasn't looking at Taiya, he was looking at himself.....why? He turned his view to the streets below, and watched as the noble came out, surrounded by guards. He looked on in horror, as his other self jumped off the spire. "No! Don't do it!" It was too late though. He watched as his other self neared the ground, screaming and throwing up his hands. Ezio Screamed as his other self smashed into the ground, literally turning into a pulverized pile of flesh and bone.... ~~~~~ "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Twilight awoke quite quickly to see Ezio thrashing in his bead and screaming. Jumping out of her soft chair, she ran over and tried to settle the screaming pony. When her efforts failed, she immediately used a magic spell to calm him and lull him back to sleep. He stopped screaming, and slowly settled back into a deep sleep. This was going to be a long night. ~~~~~ Ezio stopped screaming in his dream as a calm washed over him, like a feeling of pure love and warmth.....it was...wonderful.... There in front of him though.... was his father....just, sitting there on a chair on the balcony... This place......He recognized it..... He walked to the balcony, a chair suddenly materializing from thin air, giving him a place to sit. "Ezio, do you remember what I told you when i took you under my wing?" Ezio stared, trying to remember.... "No, I'm sorry but I don't..." His father turned to him, old age and kindness showing in the creases on his face. "I told you, that you were destined for greatness. That we all are. Do you know why I told you this?" Ezio shook his head. He could hardly believe he was talking to his father... "I told you that because, Deep down, I knew you to be a savior, not of our world, but of another. I didn't understand this feeling until now, when you arrived here." Ezio was still amazed... "But Father, you're dead. How am I speaking to you?" His father simply chuckled and turned back to the sunset on the tropical horizon. "Watch the sunset with me, and Ill tell you." Ezio watched as the sunset stayed exactly where it was......and his Father began to explain.... //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 Chapter 6 Swept off your hooves ~~~~ Ezio ran silently along the rooftops. One bad step, he was sliding down towards the ground, and an imminent broken leg. Seriously, one more arrow, and his adventurer days were over. He hated arrows. And then it hit him. REALLY HARD. A Pineapple soared through the air, and with perfect aim, and enough speed to break the neck of a full sized elephant, hit him square in the side of the face. Of all places. Now it was Ezios turn to fly through the air, although far less gracefully. Somehow managing to twist himself in the air, he landed in a seemingly well placed cart full of hay. Thank god for the lazy people in rome. Now who the hell throws a pineapple? Peeping his head slyly out of the hay, he saw another assassin rolling on a balcony laughing. "Was that you Arin!?" "Who else do you know with that good of aim?" Ezio grinned and leapt out of the cart. Now he was going to have some REAL fun... ~~~~ Birds sung as sunlight streamed through the window panes. Clouds dotted the sky, floating lazily in their places. And it burned. Flinching, Ezio shielded his eyes from the invading fiery light, trying not to be destroyed by the bane of deep sleeps. It was never this bright in Rome. Ever. And he would have at least had shutters on his windows! At least he was awake.  Crawling sluggishly out of his bed, he put his cloak on, this time deciding to leave his weapons on his side table. He doubted they would be necessary today, seeing as ponies were peaceful in this world. Maybe it was a late awakening, but he still felt as if he only slept 5 minutes. Reaching the downstairs table, he yawned, almost rolling backwards onto his back. Barely catching himself, his eyes widened in surprise. Why was he so tired? This was not normal for him. "RARITY!! I'M TALKING ABOUT RARITY!!" "Who?" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" Ezio sighed. His head hurt again. He needed a shower. ~~~~ Rainbow Dash lay on a puff of cloud, thinking. Which was rare for her, considering she mostly rushed into things without thinking at all. Her thoughts drifted back and forth, until they came to rest on events earlier that week. She though back to the pony she had flown into. She hit that pony right in his side, launched him across the townsquare, and he was still ok.... The only pony who could have survived an impact like that, was AppleJack. But this pony... How.... She needed to investigate, and if anypony knew where that pony would be, it was Pinkie Pie. Jumping off her cloud, she made a dash for sugarcube corner, wondering whether or not this pony was still in town.... ~~~~ Steam rose out the window, as Ezio stood in the shower. It felt so good to be clean, to have that feeling of the water flowing over him. His head felt much better as well, which was an added plus. He shut off the water, and stepped out of the shower. And then Twilight opened the door. Ezio quickly grabbed a towel, and held it around himself. Twilight looked at him. "Why are you holding a towel around yourself like that?" "Because...well....isn't this what one does when one is seen naked?" "I'm pretty sure that we are always naked. We ponies don't normally wear clothes." Ezio blushed, and dropped the towel, completely embarrassed. "AAAAAAAA!!!! PUT THE TOWEL BACK PUT IT BACK!!" Twilight screamed, closed the door, and ran out. Strange. He had just heard her say that it was ok. He looked down. Oh. OH. That was extremely embarrassing. He sheepishly put the towel back on, trying to ignore what had just happened. What a lovely start to his day. ~~~~ Ezio pushed the Borgia Guard off his blade, turning to face Arin as the guard hit the ground. "Now what?" "To tell you the truth...I haven't the slightest idea," Arin rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "We could test out my new idea though!" Ezio knew that look. Arin was like Davinci, always creating things. Except Arin didnt have the smarts to make things that worked, which usually ended up with Ezio having his body half in half out of some foreign object, while Arin laughed on a nearby rooftop. "What is it this time Arin?" "Oh cmon," Arin pleaded, puppy eyes forming on his face. "We can test this one over water!" Well, at least water didn't involve smashing into things. "Alright fine," Ezio stared Arin down. "But just this once..." ~~~~ Ezio pushed open the kitchen door, now wearing his cloak, the hood down. "Uhhm," he twitched nervously. "Twilight?" Twilight stuck her head out of her books in surprise, suddenly blushing deeply. "Eheheheh, what can i do for ya?" Ezio Gulped. "Im just going for a walk." "Oh yea sure, have fun!" Ezio trotted out the door, still getting used to standing on all four limbs. Twilight sat there, still staring at the doorway, staring at space, fantasizing abou- NO! NonononoNO NO! THIS WAS NOT WHAT SHE WANTED TO THINk OF RIGHT NOW! Although it had been pretty larg- NO!!!!! ~~~~ Ezio sat along side a small creek on the edge of a park just outside of ponyville, lazily watching fish swim past. It was funny how Ezio had been captivated by Twilights explanation of rulership in this kingdom. No hardship, no oppressive rulership, no problems, save for the occassional baddie. But something troubled Ezio. Something seemed off about how he got here. His info had always been accurate, but nothing had ever happened to him, at least not anything that had resulted in his death. He drew out the scene in the dirt, pondering it over in his mind. "uhm, mind if i join you?" With that one small inquisitive squeak, Ezio was in the water faster than the fish themselves. He turned to see who it was and saw fluttershy trying not to giggle on the bank of the creek. "Oh goodness! *snicker* Are you alright?" She said, still giggling slightly. Ezio managed to drag himself out, now soaked in water. "Yes, quite alright," Ezio managed to stammer. "I didn't notice you approaching, and you startled me rather effectively." Fluttershy blushed at the thought of managing to scare an assassin. But looking over him, she couldn't keep her mind from thinking about him, his muscles underneath that toned fur, how he was wet from the creek and how nice it would be to- NOPE. Fluttershy shook her head, trying to remember that her Horny side was reserved for close friends. VERY, close friends. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, I just wanted to join you." Ezio couldn't help but laugh. "Of course you can join me! Its not your fault, I should have been more aware." He felt red rush into his cheeks, and decided to stand up and wring the water out of his cloak. Everytime he saw Fluttershy, it was like something was switched on in his brain. His feelings were always under his control, so this was out of the normal for him. Fluttershy sat down, and crossing her legs, couldn't keep her eyes of his body. She looked away again, trying not to think about him that way. She barely knew him, and already her mind was like that? "Fluttershy? Are you alright?" Fluttershy made a small "eep!" sound, and turned to look at him..... And saw him lying there, stretched on his side, the sun shining on his wet mane, his gorgeous stallion curves glistening in the-Seriously, what in tartarus was going on? Fluttershy just couldn't keep her eyes off him! She couldn't help but blush again. "Fluttershy?" "Y-yes, sorry, my mind was...wandering. How are you?" "Better," Ezio grinned. "If it hadn't been for your wonderful medical skills, I might have not been here to thank you in the nice setting." Oh god he was complimenting her! How was she supposed to keep composed if her kept flattering her? "keep it together," She thought steadily. "Don't give in." "Well, my Father was a good doctor....he taught me everything i know." "Well, i think you did a great job. Say, would you mind walking with me?" "Oh no I wouldn't mind that at all!" Well...maybe walking might keep her mind of his gloriously strong, smooth, hard as ro-NO NO NO!!! ~~~~ //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 How about i just buck up everyponies lives with a quick update, whilst trying desperately to ignore every single notification i have gotten over the past 8 hours? Sounds like fun to me! Bring on the Gotye! :D Ezio - Fate Lies Within Chapter 5 A New Purpose Ok. Ezio was obviously dreaming. That sun hadn't moved for 15 minutes now, and it was *really** starting to annoy him. It had to be a dream. Unless of course he was at some sort of north pole thing where the sun never set.* "So you have questions about your place in Equestria." Ezio quickly jumped at the sound of his fathers voice. He had been paying attention to that sun really hard. Curse this strange dreamland and its strangeness. Ezio Nodded his head in reply. "Good. Now, to start off, Let me take you back, to when i disappeared......" The landscape began to fold around him, things changing into other human beings, palm trees becoming horses, coconuts becoming full fledged houses. And there, blending with the crowd, was his father, moving slowly. "I didn't have any jobs that day, so I thought I might blend my way down to the river, and enjoy the day for its beauty." The scene changed once more, showing the river Ezio had crossed so many times in Rome. His father crouched on the edge. "Suddenly, I was grabbed from behind, and faced another assassin. As he looked at me, he only said one thing. 'For the Borgia.' After that, he drove his blade through my heart, and then left, while I slowly died. And then, you came looking for me." The scene changed again, a stray coconut hitting Ezio on the head. Ow! Those things were hard! This time around, Ezio saw himself, crying into Taiyas shoulder. He watched himself vow to become stronger and faster than any other assassin. "And there you are. Crying into Taiyas shoulder. She was pretty wasn't she?" "Father! Taiya and I were just friends..." His father laughed. And that laugh set the scene back to the sunset. And that stupid coconut flew back to its place, deciding to randomly hit Ezio on the head again. WHY!? WHY MUST IT HAPPEN TWICE!? Ezio cursed the coconut under his breath, swearing a dreamland revenge someday. "And now to tell you your place." Ezio snapped to attention, hoping this was the part where his father would say, 'nothing'. "You are chosen by the gods that govern our worlds, to save Equestria. The 6 ponies you have met, the elements of harmony, will face a foe that will fight back. Keeping him from fighting back, will allow you to fulfill your purpose." Ezio gaped.....He was going to save an entire world just by- never mind. Defeating the Borgia would have done the same thing. He still nodded in a slow stupor, kind of amazed at this. "Now that you have discovered your destiny, go save their world." His father hugged him, and the world melted away.... ~~~~~~ Twilight opened her eyes groggily. Ezio had been talking all night in his injury induced sleep, and Twilight had spent the whole night reading, finally going to sleep herself. "Oh great. I managed to drool on the entire encyclopedia neightannica. Ewwwww." She yawned, and went over and checked the poor stallion. The bump on his head had gone away, and his leg seemed less swollen. She adjusted the bandages, and then she smelled something.....breakfast.....a REALLY good smelling breakfast.... Twilight peeped around the door frame. Nopony was looking. Tip hoofing it down the stairs, Twilight saw, on the dinner table, a plate of eggs, toast, and bacon. Simulated, bacon that is. She quickly sneaked over and sat down, digging in to the food that awaited her starving stomach. "I see you have awakened." Twilight almost choked on her food, fully not expecting Spike to be there. "Oh gosh Spike, you scared me." "Yea well, Owlicious isn't the only one who's quiet." "Who?" "You! I'm talking about you!" "Who?" "YOU! I'M TALKING ABOUT-...you know what? I'm not doing this." Spike walked back into the kitchen, shaking his head and muttering some about a 'stupid owl' under his breath. Twilight simply grinned. That owl could be annoying at times. Twilight resumed eating, watching as Owlicious flew after Spike. "ME! I'M THE ONE WHO MADE BREAKFAST!!!" "Hmm. What is your assistant yelling about?" Twilight choked this time. This was extremely unnerving. "Oh, he was *achk* just getting annoyed with *gasp* Owlicious." "Owlicious..." Ezio came down the stairs carefully. "That is a strange name for an owl..." Come to think of it....Ezio was right. That was a stupid name for an owl. If Twilight hadn't had that stupid Twilightlicious tune in her head, she would have never named Owlicious that. Since when were owls tasty? She decided not to comment on that one. "So, how are you feeling?" Ezio sighed: "Better, even though I still have a headache. I can at least walk if i lift my leg off the ground." "Well, when Fluttershy comes over today, shes gonna check your bandages." "Ah. I shall thank her for her medical help then." Twilight smiled, and gave a quick yell for Spike. "Yes?" said spike, poking his head through the door way. "Could you bring us some chamomile tea Spike? I think Ezio needs something for his headache." "Sure!" Spike shortly after came into the room with 2 cups of steaming tea and placed them at the 2 ponys places. For such a little Dragon, he was an extremely talented cook. Twilight levitated the teacup to her mouth and took a sip, then set it down to find Ezio staring at her, eyes as round as dinner plates. "Are...are you a wizard!?" Twilight Laughed. Really hard. "No! I'm a unicorn silly! But that's a pretty funny idea!" And then, right there, The most beautiful thing that Ezio had ever seen walked through the library doorway... ~~~~~ A strange looking creature huddled over a workbench in the basement of SugarCube corner, its fluffy pink hair swaying slightly as the creature adjusted its head to get a better view of what it was working on, its project illuminated by a simple desk light... The door at the top of the stairs opened: "Pinkie Pie? Could you make some more strawberry lemon cakes please?" The creature flicked on the light, and the basement lit up fully. "Sure Mrs Cake! I'll be right on it!" Pinkie Pie smiled as Mrs. Cake shut the door. Her idea was almost finished, and soon she could give her present to Ezio. She turned to all the different cooking machines in the basement. First, she had to bake some cakes. ~~~~~ Ezio had spent the last half hour fawning over Fluttershy. Twilight went about her business, but she couldn't help but notice that Fluttershy was enjoying the attention. Nah, Fluttershy was too timid and shy for that kind of thing to affect her. Maybe it was all in Twilights head. Yea, that was it. "Well, all your bandages are changed, and your leg seems to be healing really nicely!" "Thank you so much Fluttershy, you must be the best doctor I have ever had." Fluttershy blushed. She didn't think she was that good. She did try her best, but she wasn't an expert. And she didn't want him to go to the hospital after the incident with Nurse Redheart and the last good looking Stallion to go there.... She shuddered at the thought. She tried not to think about the big black strap-NO NO NO!! SHE DIDN'T WANT THAT IN HER MIND RIGHT NOW!! She focused on that song by Gotya she liked, and kept talking to Ezio. "Well, I'm not that good." "But you are! Where I'm from, the doctors give you medicine and expect you to administer it yourself! It's terrible!" Fluttershy blinked. Maybe he was right. Wow. "Well thank you sweetie. Now, I think it would be best if you got some more rest ok? Your leg still need to heal, and your head could use a little more rest." "Alright, 'Doctor Shy.' I'll be sure to do that." Ezio grinned. Fluttershy couldn't help but blush again. As she walked outside, Ezio couldn't keep her out of his thoughts. Her timidness was his exact opposite, and he really enjoyed it. He went upstairs and lay in his bed again. He sighed, happily this time. Maybe this was a good place to be. He drifted off to a dreamless sleep.....thankfully....
