Madness Overlord
Chapter 2.5: Brutalight's Vision
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIn the chaotic dimension known as the Freak World, the Elements of Insanity, known as the Demented Seven, were practically ruling over that dimension undisputed, crushing those who tried to oppose them and passing their time doing what they are best at: Committing murders and spreading chaos around this wretched world in which they were trapped.
But their rhythm was a little toned down in these days.
A month has passed since their tremendous fight against Painset Shimmercake and Magic Mare. In the aftermath, the Demented Seven survived with their leader Brutalight Sparkcakes, coming out very weakened from it.
Painset and her partner simply disappeared from the scene without leaving any trails of their passage. Despite her impression that Painset could be still alive, Brutalight decided to not waste anymore of her robotic detachment squads or even sending the Cutey Mark Monsters for her search. She and her subordinates has a important thing to do.
They spent these days to recover from the battle, building new robot sentries and continued the development of a dimensional portal that will allow them to return to their world, Equestria.
Brutalight recovered most of her power and the portal seemed almost complete. Everything was proceeding according to their plan... Except for one little, tremendous incident that caused the destruction of most of their robotic drones and buildings in which Rainbine was responsible.
Brutalight and Fluttershout were almost killing her for that, in every sense of the word. Rainbine was lucky to have been just beaten up and got screamed in her face since Brutalight was considering to cut her wings.
The day after that, Rainbine was forced to build other robots twenty-four hours nonstop for three days and three night as a punishment. Nine hundred are the robots that she has to rebuild, much to her boredom. She has a drone generator built by herself that helped her a little for sure, but is up to her to install their CPU.
On the third day, Rainbine was working on the drone number eight-hundred and ninety six. She looked very tired but not in the physical way since she is a robot and could recharge herself when she's awake. Her mental fatigue was the real pain. She could get used to restless nights, but not when there's no action in that.
As she was welding the CPU's protection plate, Fluttershout approached her, looking calmer while trying to not show anger.
"You know? You could have at least consulted us before taking the liberty to put this moronic idea to practice". Fluttershout said, giving a stern look.
"I have discovered the ability to channel my Sonic Rainboom into my weapons to improve the projectile's speed and power. It's a butt load of awesome possibilities that i couldn't ignore." replied Rainbine in her usual robotic voice.
"Oooooooh, sure. It's so coool. Channeling it on your plasma cannon and causing a massive rainbow colored explosion that destroyed most of our robots, resources and some of our headquarters was really sutble!!" Fluttershout screamed in her face normally instead of doing her trademark ear crushing one.
"Ok, ok. Look, i'm sorry for that, but you know me... Well, the new me. I was a little carried away. I admit it."
"Just like the time when you shot Twilight Sparkle in the head in the cemetery?"
"Oh, come on! That was in the past!"
"I'm sorry, but this incident will be added on the list of the your screw ups that were "in the past". And this is especially proved since Applepills was almost killed by your experiment. She survived by hiding herself into a metal box full of you know what."
"Pills?" Rainbine asked meekly.
"Yes, her addiction for painkillers saved her life." Fluttershout said, narrowing her eyes. "But seriously, almost killing Twilight wasn't enough that you had to repeat the same idiotic mistake on Applepills too!? You are really inconsiderate!!" Fluttershout shouted angrily.
Rainbine gulped, acknowledging the gravity of her mistake. That was the second time she attempted to the life of one of her companions, thought that was unintentional this time.
"So of course i have you to be reminded of that." continued Fluttershout. "Or maybe you prefer a round two with Brutalight's nasty lashing?"
Rainbine silently stared at the yellow pegasus with a blank look for a bit before saying. "Touche."
Fluttershout rolled her eyes as the robotic cyan pegasus returned her attention to the drone. She finished to weld the drone's last composed and passed to the next one.
"Sometimes i'm wondering how did you became the Element of Loyalty." Fluttershout murmured mentally.
"Ah, now that i recall that, i heard Brutalight screaming and various explosions during the last night." Rainbine said with a perplexed look.
"I don't think you want to know." commented embarrassed Fluttershout.
"But why? What happened?"
"Brutalight tried to test another of her potions on herself and got drunk again."
"What? Are you telling me that she believed to be a foal again?"
"Much worse. She believed to be Discord and started to cast random magic spells around the room, blowing up things and transforming stuff into liquid white chocolate. I and Rarifruit took three hours to sedate her and stop her rampage."
"Woah..... How is she?"
Fluttershout glared at the cyan robotic pegasus just to gesture her to not make any question about it. Rainbine immediately understood that is better left this thing unknown.
"Nevermind," Rainbine said, changing the topic. "What about the others?"
"Wise choice, Raimbo." Fluttershout said, smiling a little "Rarifruit was killing and stealing some valuable items as usual, Pinkis was finishing to compose the magic component of the dimensional portal, Applepills was taking... pills, and the Cutey Mark Monsters were just playing in the ruins of the quarters you had destroyed."
"And Derpigun?"
"She's fumbling with some piece of scraps to make a robotic equivalent of a snowmare.... Which is kind of crappy since it has no real purpose what so ever."
Rainbine was going to make a comment about it but before she could do that, a sudden scream pierced the quiet atmosphere. They know very well who was.
"Is Brutalight having a hangover?" Raibine asked worried.
"Do you think it this the case?" said Fluttershout. "You better remain here to finish the job. I will go to her."
"Whatever." replied Rainbine before returning to her work. "I only hope that she didn't overdid to much with her spells."
Fluttershout trotted toward the door leading to the living room and slowly opened the door.
She saw a petrified looking Brutalight lying on the couch were she was left after being sedated, breathing heavily and sweating a little. Her mane was a little messy and her eyes were wide opened. Brutalight seemed to have woke up from a vivid dream. Her expression slowly shifted into a irritated one as put her hoof on her face.
Fluttershout doesn't say anything and decided to leave her alone without being noticed. This until Brutalight noticed her.
"You heard me screaming right?" Brutalight said with a hoarse voice, looking at the yellow pegasus. "Good thing that you're worried for me, but i hope that you weren't watching me sleeping."
"Not at all." replied Fluttershout, a little panicked. "You were already awake before i had arrived."
"Damn, my head is pounding really hard."
"So, what was all about?" Fluttershout hesitantly asked while approaching Brutalight.
"I cannot believe what i'm going to say. I could say it was a nightmare but... It looked like a vivid premonition to me."
"Premonition?" Fluttershout asked confused.
"You know, like the ones Celestia during her dreams. They mostly tend to tells something about the future. But this one in particular... No, no, i cannot take it seriously. Is too stupid." Brutalight said.
"What could possibly be?... If you want to tell."
"Very well," Brutalight began. "The nightmare was, as i said, ridiculous. In that dream we were crushing anything that was standing against us. You know, usual enemies. Failed freaks and some other monsters. Nothing unusual. This until some pony showed up. And is not Celestia or Luna."
"What? Who could that be?"

"It was a stallion, dressed in the most stupidest fashion. He was standing in front of us, accompanied by multiple shadow. He was possess a monster, just like us. Except that he is fully in control."
"Fully in control?" Fluttershout asked a little surprised.
"The shadows were attacking us," Brutalight continued. "We managed to defeat them, so we were going to punish the stallion for the insolence, but..."
"But?"
"He managed somehow to crush us. You and the other elements were lying on the shapeless ground. I unleashed all of my powers, but he managed to survive my attacks and beat me with his unknown powers. The last thing that i saw was him grabbing my face before being engulfed by a burst of white energy."
Fluttershout couldn't help, but feel a little concerned about what Brutalight said. Dream or not.
"That must be obviously a awful dream." Fluttershout said. "Like you said before, it's ridiculous."
"I know," Brutalight said irritated. "There's no way that we are about to be taken down by that punk. It's just laughable. Nopony stands in our way, after all.."
"Maybe there is a possible explanation."
Brutalight turned her head toward Fluttershout, narrowing her eyes.
"And what could be this explanation?" Brutalight asked.
"That is just a silly theory of mine but... Could that be the case in which this stallion was somehow able to infest your dream, and create the nightmare just to boast his own ego?" Fluttershout meekly said.
Brutalight glared at Fluttershout with a angered expression at first. But then she calmed down a bit. Fluttershout was a little nervous, not knowing what to do.
"At least that make more sense than the dream itself." Brutalight calmly said.
"I-i think so." Fluttershout agreed.
"By the way, what about Rainbine?"
"Rainbine? She would have probably finished her work with the robots."
"I will give a look at them later. Besides, don't even bother to search for him. Is not even worth of our time."
"If you say so."
"Now leave me alone." Brutalight said, "I have still that hangover since yesterday."
Fluttershout trotted toward the door and was about to leave the room, but...
"Fluttershout." Brutalight called.
"Yes?"
"Rainbine know what happened the last night?"
"Well..." Fluttershout scratched her head in embarrassment. "Yes. She was still awake when that happened. She heard the whole ruckus, but continued to work anyway."
"You didn't tell her that i was basking in the liquid white chocolate while singing one of the Discord's songs during my drunk rampage, right?"
"I didn't tell her anything about it."
"Then you can go." Brutalight said, finally dismissing the yellow pegasus.
Fluttershout closed the door and walked through the corridor. In her mind, she reassured herself that Brutalight only just had a wild nightmare. But deep inside she couldn't stop thinking about it. Is just like Brutalight said: Is a very stupid nightmare. But what she heard has left a bad taste in her mouth.
"I think i'm going to take a look to Derpigun." Fluttershout said
Maybe is a nonsensical idea, but is always a distraction nonetheless.
Far far away from the Demented Seven's headquarters, a figure was standing at the top of a building. It was a black cloaked pony with a beige coat, who was oddly standing on it's two legs. The figure looked at the headquarters in the distance. It's face and it's dark green mane were partially illuminated by the sun, revealing the pony being a mare.
She smirked a little like a snake which hunt was going according to his own agenda.
"It looks like that the premonition was delivered with success." she said. "Eheheh. That will show him. Balamos is not the only player in this madness. I will take care of his champion with any means."
