Chapters Chapter the Second: Introductions
~~A normal day in Ponyville~~ No, that’s too cliché. Hmmm… You know what? Let’s throw them into Episode 1 and see where it goes. Sorry if it’s too similar to the actual episode at the start, I wasn’t sure how to differentiate, since Yellow is rather similar to the original Rainbow anyway.
I guess it was kind of a normal day in Ponyville then. Twilight had just finished talking to Applejack, and was wondering why the sky wasn’t clear, when a yellow blur crashed into her. And, because of Murphy’s Law, crashed directly into a puddle of mud, even though she was pretty sure it hadn’t been there five seconds before. Needless to say, she and the odd yellow pony got completely covered in the stuff. Said yellow pony sat up, looked at Twilight, chuckled, and asked “Hey, are you… are you okay? Here, lemme help!” And she flew off, only to return with a dark, ominous cloud, which she positioned over Twilight’s head. She flew up, bounced on the cloud, and drenched Twilight in rain, leaving the lavender unicorn soaking wet. At least she got the mud off, right? In her final attempt to help Twilight, she flew around, and around, and around, and you get the idea, using air force to dry Twilight off. Unfortunately (Or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), it had the side effect of floofing Bookhorse’s mane up to look even more like cotton candy than Pinkie’s. Therefore, the yellow pegasus, as well as Twilight’s assistant, Spike, fell over themselves laughing. Trying to retain some of her dignity, Twilight ignored Spike, asking the new pony “And, who are you?”
“Oh, I’m Yellow! Nice to meet you!” The pegasus replied, bouncing up off the ground. “Who are you? ”
“Wait, you’re named after a color? With nothing else?” Twilight asked herself, before shaking her head and continuing. “I’m Twilight Sparkle. The Princess-“ She was cut short, as ‘Yellow’ suddenly looked over Twilight’s shoulder, calling out excitedly “Oh, hey girls!” Twilight turned around herself, to see six other pegasi flying towards them, who… all looked like Yellow? Except these pegasi were different colors… The colors of the rainbow, she realised. As they got closer, she could see that they had differences apart from color as well. The orange one had fairly obvious muscles, for example. And Yellow, now that she looked back at her, was thinner and fitter than the others. They were obviously some kind of family, though how, Twilight wasn’t sure. “Hello?”
“Hey.” ‘Red’ replied, landing in front of her. She seemed to be the leader of the group, with the way she held herself. Indigo walked over to Twilight, before saying, in a smooth voice, “Hey there. You’re new, right? I’m Indigo. Could I have the-“ She was cut off by an orange hoof whacking her over the head, causing her to fall limp to the ground. Twilight stared at the pegasus, before looking up at Orange. “What did you do that for?!”
“Rule one of being anywhere near the Rainbow Corps: If Indigo starts talking to you, don’t let her finish. You really don’t want to hear what she has to say.” The bulky pony replied.
“Okay then… Wait, the Rainbow Corps? What kind of name is that?”
“Well, there was this one pony a while ago. He kind of liked us, and asked if we could call ourselves the Rainbow Corps. We didn’t really have a name at the time, we sort of just called ourselves the Family, so we thought, why not? And the name’s stuck.” Violet spoke up. “Oh, and I’m Purple. I don’t mind if you call me Violet, a lot of ponies do, but I prefer Purple. Anyway, if I know this town, and I do, Pinkie Pie will be planning you a Welcome To Ponyville party. We should probably get going and help her set up.”
“Yeah, we should. See ya, Poindexter.” Red called out as they lifted off again, Orange slinging Indigo over her back.
“Poindexter?! How do you even know what I do in my spare time?!”
“I get around! See ya!” And they flew off.

Kind of rushed this, but I hope you like it! This is going to mostly follow the events of canon, but with the twist of seven RDs.
Chapter the Third (Nightmare's Return)
So, the day went pretty well. There was a party. I’m glossing over it as our hero(es?) didn’t have too much of a prevalent role, and I’m not completely sure how to write NM’s actual return ANYWAY
Just after the party
Everypony was panicking, which was understandable, as the literal incarnation of nightmares had just appeared before them. The only ponies who were somewhat sane were Red, who was sitting in a corner thinking, as trying to calm the crowd wouldn’t work, Purple was trying it anyway, and Twilight had run off somewhere, as informed by Green, who had been watching outside. Orange was yelling something about smashing Nightmare’s face in, Yellow was hyperventilating, Blue was screeching incoherently, and Indigo was unconscious again, after stating that “Nightmare Moon looks hot. I want her-“ And getting no further.
Eventually, Red managed to calm everypony down, and directed the 11 ponies to Twilight’s house, where they found her mumbling about the Helements of Armory or something like that, and how they were the only thing that could stop Nightmare Moon. Red walked in casually, before asking, also casually, “Why do you need them to stop the cranky old horse? What even are they? And now I’m curious, how did you even learn about Bad Moony in the first place?”
“Well, the Elements of- Wait. Bad Moony?” Twilight began to lecture, before cutting herself off with a confused expression.
“Well, yeah. Did you honestly think you were the only one who had ever read that dusty old book?”
“But… That was in Celestia’s personal library…”
“Girl, I have been picking locks and breaking and entering since before my first birthday. You leave the bloody windows open, for Faust’s sake. Anyway, this is getting us off track. Green, found the book yet?”
“Ooh! Ooh! Here it is!” Called out Pinkie Pie, pointing to the book in the pegasus’ outstretched hoof.
“Wh-What?! How did you find that?!” Twilight asked, bemused.
“Twilight, Green’s amazingly perceptive. She could probably read a grounded book from a cirrus cloud if she put her mind to it.”
“I, uh, wouldn’t go that far…” The mare in question replied sheepishly, before handing (hoofing?) the book over to Twilight. So, they read about the Elements, went into the Everfree, and things progressed mostly as they did in canon, though RD’s part went a lot faster thanks to Indigo creeping the Shadowbolts out enough for Orange to punch them in the faces. Also, since it’s a bit difficult to put one necklace on seven ponies, the Element of Loyalty kind of just floated in the middle as they hovered in a circle. So, we return to the story at: Just after Bad Moony’s defeat.
“Well, that hurt.” Blue muttered to herself as they got up after the lightshow.
“So, Twilight, Ah guess you were right. Ah thought it was all just a load o’ hooey, but now… Ah guess we really are the elements o’ friendship.” Quoted Apples. “Indeed you are.” Came a voice, as the sun rose outside. Red’s only comment was “Oh, look. Spontaneous Starbutt.”
As expected, Twilight’s reaction was one of “Star-“ Before breaking off with incoherent squeaks. Celestia, who had spontaneously appeared in the room as predicted, merely laughed, as everypony but said sassy stealer bowed. “And how are you doing, Red? Any new ‘salvage’?” The literal sun goddess asked, as if she were speaking to an old friend.
“Not much of importance.”
Twilight broke out of her stupor long enough to question “Wait, do you know each other?”
“Yeah. As I said earlier, I get around. Also, Starbutt can apparently see everything her sun touches, should she so wish.”
“Yes, I can. But, enough chatter. I must speak to Luna.” Celestia said, still smiling.
“Yeah, go sort things out with Moony. We’ll be here when you’re done.”
And things did what they did in canon.

Yeah, I rushed this. I'm planning to go back on it at some point and clean it up.
Anyway, I'm planning to design this story a certain way. I'll write a Rainbow Corps twist on a canon episode every now and then, but what about everything in between? So, I have decided: You guys/girls/unspecified give me ideas for what antics they might get up to, or which episode I should twist, and I'll see if I can work them in. Good idea?
Chapter the First: Origin
It was a dark night in Cloudsdale. Most pegasi were asleep, oblivious to the going-ons outside. Creeping through the darkness were seven small fillies, Each a color of the rainbow, and all identical apart from that. They were each reacting to the strange world in their own ways. The red one was at the front, walking with an air of authority. The orange one carried herself like a fighter, tensed and ready for action. The yellow one bounced along, seemingly without a care in the world. The green filly seemed to be staring into space, but would then snap around to look at something you’d never expect her to notice. The blue girl was looking around, seemingly stunned at the cloudy architecture. The indigo one… She was being dragged along by orange, unconscious. And the purple one was looking around frantically, trying to absorb all the information she could before they moved on.
They wandered about, eventually coming to a small house on the outskirts of the hovering city. They went inside, having found their place to sleep for the night. In the morning, the owner of the home, an elderly pegasus, would find the little ponies, curled up in a heap beneath his table. He would take them to the authorities, who asked him to look after them until their true parents were found. So he did. He would feed them, house them, and raise them as his own. He was going on in years, but still refused to give the seven girls up to anypony else.
Time passed. By now the girls were healthy young fillies, ready to go to school. But, when they got home from their first day, they found the house empty. When they asked nearby ponies, they were told that the old stallion had died. They were hit strongly by this, and didn’t come out of the house for several days, and when they did, it was merely to restock on food. Eventually, the seven finished their grieving, and took the house as their own. They managed to scrape together food and money, not all of it from legal sources. And there they remained, in that house on the outskirts.
They grew up, keeping to themselves, before finding their way to the town of Ponyville, where they met new friends. Together, they defeated great evils, and helped the land of Equestria. They became legends all throughout the land. The little orphans had become famous, but they never forgot the one who raised them. Star Watcher would be remembered. They made sure of that.

So. Septuple Rainbow. Don't expect this to get updated too often, as I'm putting as much effort as possible into it. If you come across any mistakes, please tell me ASAP, and stuff like that.
