Episode 1: Rise and shine, Rarity!
Once upon a time in the magical land of Equestria, its dark side had enough of bright, happy, optimistic adventures and manifested as Equestria Vlitra, a giant orange-eyed face protruding from the planet Equus. Vlitra instantly rendered the planet uninhabitable by releasing a planet-covering anti-magic pulse, removing all unicorn horns, pegasus wings, earth pony strength, and even Discord's chaos magic. In addition, Vlitra turned all the wildlife violent and every creature black with crimson red veins.
Returning to the Tree of Harmony, the Mane 6 quickly shifted into their Rainbow Power forms and flew into space in an attempt to fight Vlitra. Twilight announced, "So you're the dark side of Planet Equus, eh? I have proven time and time again that the most powerful magic of all is the magic of friendship!" With this, the Mane 6 each shot a focused laser at Vlitra, then combined their lasers into one. However, Vlitra was unaffected, charged up a second laser from its mouth, and shot back, destroying the Rainbow Power laser. When the Mane 6 realized the laser was headed right towards them, they split up to continue the fight.
"Rainbow Power isn't working?", wondered Rainbow Dash. "Let's try something else!" Then Vlitra grew several hydra heads which prepared to bite her. She beat them up one by one and exploded them until eight cornered her and a ninth swallowed her whole.
"RAINBOW!" Applejack retaliated by lassoing a nearby asteroid and throwing it at Vlitra's skull. Vlitra shrugged it off like nothing happened before smacking her around and swallowing her.
"HOW DARE YOU!" Fluttershy gave the Stare to the hydra head that knocked Applejack away. The hydra head began to cower...then swallowed Fluttershy whole as well.
Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie had fun blowing off the hydra heads with her party cannon. Then Vlitra switched to summoning black-and-red space whales to keep her occupied instead. One space whale then blew freezing air out of its blowhole, freezing Pinkie Pie solid. She fell and promptly got swallowed.
Twilight used her own sixth of Rainbow Power to fire a large laser blast at a Vlitra hydra head, but the head shrugged it off and retaliated with a laser of equal size, cancelling her beam out and swallowing her.
When Rarity was the last one standing, she dodged Vlitra's heads and beat them up, causing them to explode. Then she floated several gems and thrust them into Vlitra's eye to gouge it out, but Vlitra retaliated by shooting ten simultaneous fast fireballs at her with its hydra heads. As the fireballs exploded, Rarity's vision faded to black as her body disintegrated.
Back on the ground, Vlitra opend up a volcano below the powerless Discord and blasted him into space. The magma on Discord hardened, freezing him solid and preventing him from changing course. Unable to die, he stopped thinking.
The Mane 6 were done for for real. No Deus ex Machina to save them this time. Unlike every previous villain, Equestria Vlitra was not dumb enough to let them win and instead obliterated them at the first possible opportunity.
A while later, Rarity woke up in a crystalline temple with light-blue walls. "Where am I? What a nightmare! The magic of friendship would have defeated that thing that turned Equestria bad!" She then rubbed her forehead to check if she had her horn back, and she did. "Sweet!" Then to her left, she saw a big door with her cutie mark in the center. "For some reason, I feel right at home here..." As she knocked on the door, it slowly rose out of the floor, revealing a long crystalline hallway which she began to walk through. On its walls were short videos of her various moments throughout her show. Eventually Rares reached the end of the hallway, meeting a white stallion with light blue eyes, a black curvy mustache, a rounded horn, a shiny blue helmet with a triangular top, a matching crystalline robe, and matching blue shoes.
The stallion introduced himself with a deep but kind voice. "Rarity. Due to a massive gem war, it has been an eternity since I last saw you in person. Over the years, I have been watching your adventures with Twilight Sparkle and her other friends. Sending you to Equestria to get in touch with your pony half...It really brought out your mental strengths."
"How do you know my name?"
"I, Doctor Diamond, am the very scientist who created you. You only survived because you are part gem like my people." He then pointed at the video of the Mane 6's failed fight against Equestria Vlitra. "That was no dream, my child." As Rarity saw herself getting blasted with fireballs in the video, the footage showed her destroyed body leaving behind a single gem like the ones on her cutie mark. The gem then teleported away into the temple she had woke up in before her body reformed around it."
"I see your point, darling. I was conditioned to believe that the magic of friendship's one-hit blasts would solve everything, so why did it fail?"
Diamond raised a hoof. "I had the feeling there would eventually be an enemy that could counter those blasts and render them useless. Or the blasts' creator is the enemy and designed it not to work on himself/herself/itself. So now it's time to get in touch with your gem half, and that's the half that can beat Equestria's dark side. If you keep dealing with villains the same way you did in the show, you're gonna have a bad time. It's time to fight properly."
A siren then blared across the temple, accompanied by a bright red flashing light. This was followed by several Vlitroopers, Vlitra's faceless black humanoid foot soldiers with red veins, teleporting into the hallway. "Vlitroopers", remarked Diamond. As one prepared to grab him, he kicked it in the shin, knocked it over, and smashed its chest with his forehoof. "They probably came from Equestria's dark side."
"They sure did!", remarked Rarity. The face protruding from planet Equus summoned similarly-colored space whales too!" Then the Vlitroopers started to run towards her. "Take this, ruffians!" Rarity joined in by deflecting the other Vlitroopers' punches and kicks with her own. When another walked up to her, she used her magic to lift him, turn him upside down, and slam him head first into the floor. Another tried to drop kick her, but she evaded with a roll dodge and tripped him with a tail sweep. Then two Vlitroopers pulled out guns in an attempt to shoot the two unicorns, but both unicorns used their magic to quickly disarm the Vlitroopers, turn the guns back on them, and shoot them dead. Diamond continued to open fire on the Vlitroopers while Rarity took up a bipedal stance and punched other ones in the chest, exploding them before roundhouse kicking three more to the floor. After all the Vlitroopers were gone, Rarity remarked, "I can see why you want me to fight that way, darling."
Then Gorvlitra, a black gorilla with red veins, burst through the ceiling to enter the hallway. It beat its chest and aggressively charged at Diamond, who then stood upright and began to push it back by the shoulders. During this, Diamond used his magic to force choke Gorvlitra and empty his gun into its head at point-blank range. When this didn't faze Gorvlitra, Diamond began to rip the villain episodes' videos from their wall panels and hit the gorilla with them before kicking it sideways. Diamond remarked, "I didn't like those villain encounters, anyway." While Gorvlitra flew sideways, Rarity jump kicked it. The combination of her and Diamond's kick made Gorvlitra explode and fly upward where it disappeared through a portal and pulled her in along with it.
Diamond gave a soft hoof stomp and announced "Time to track Rarity again". Then the hallway expanded to reveal another video on a wall, showing live battle footage of where Rarity had landed.
As Gorvlitra fell out the portal, he landed in a construction site, climbed up it, and pounded on it to turn it jagged. Rarity then fell out the same portal and proceeded to go up the jagged construction site. Gorvlitra threw rolling barrels down it which Rares just jumped over one by one. Finding a sledgehammer, she wildly swung it in an overhead motion with her magic, destroying the rest of the barrels. When she got to Gorvlitra, she beat it down and increased the force of her blows by standing upright and holding the sledge with her forehooves as well as her magic. Eventually she swung sideways and sent Gorvlitra flying into a nearby crystalline city.
Diamond then contacted Rarity using her gem part. "Rares, before you can save the city, please use this morphing gem: Garnity." He then teleported an orange-red gem with her cutie mark on it to her location.
"Got it, darling." Rares levitated the gem in front of her. "It's morphin' time!" It flashed and materialized a suit onto her that had a dark-purple right hind leg, a lighter-purple left hind leg, a chestplate with a magenta right half, a light-pink left half, and a medium-pink stripe, triangular silver shades, and magenta gauntlets. "Go go, Garnity! Go go!"
Rarity then walked into the city in her new form: Garnity. As seven more Vlitroopers jumped her, she just knocked each of them away with one punch. Then she saw panicked crystalline people running away from Gorvlitra as it began to catch and chomp their bystanders one by one. "Jolt...Haymaker!" As Rarity leaped and punched Gorvlitra in the face, it fell and rolled sideways. Then it threw the bystander at Rarity's direction, but Rarity caught the bystander with her magic, set him on the floor, and directed him to safety.
Doctor Diamond then arrived at the city to get the bystanders to safety while fighting off Vlitroopers that harassed them. "Rarity! I'll take the Vlitroopers."
Gorvlitra then tried to punch Rarity back, but she blocked its punch with her own right and yelled "Broken Magnum", causing one of her gauntlets to spin like a drill, shoot off, and knock Gorvlitra's arm aside before hitting it in the shoulder and returning to Rarity. Before the gauntlet returned, Rarity punched Gorvlitra's other fist and knocked the gorilla into the wall. Getting up, Gorvlitra punched the ground, creating a small shockwave that Rares just jumped to avoid. Then Gorvlitra began to throw more barrels at the bystanders, but Rarity destroyed all the barrels with the gauntlets...except one, which she slammed into Gorvlitra before exchanging colliding punches with the gorilla. The colliding punches ended with a much stronger one from Rarity, sending Gorvlitra back into space.
Now enraged, Gorvlitra grew to the size of a planet and prepared to give Rarity a country-sized finger poke. Rarity yelled "Come on, ruffian! Double Broken Magnum!" and shot both her gauntlets at Gorvlitra. As the gauntlets touched the finger, the gauntlets span increasingly fast and gradually slowed the finger's descent. Then Rarity returned her right gauntlet to her forehoof and performed a powerful Shoryuken on the gorilla's finger. "Embrace the darkness and sleep, darling." The Shoryuken triggered a chain reaction that went from Gorvlitra's fingertip to its entire body, causing Gorvlitra to explode into oblivion. "All tidy. Gems always save the day!"
The gem bystanders that Rarity and Diamond had saved returned to the city to greet them. "Hey everyone, Rarity's back! And she saved our city!"
Rarity replied, "I couldn't save Equestria this time, so it looks like I'm stuck saving your city." Upon realizing what she said, she felt a single tear in her eye. "Equestria?!? Failing to save it is the WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!"
Diamond added, "Clearly, this is just the beginning. That planet-sized gorilla was only the first and weakest advance agent of Equestria's dark side."

Across the colorful and crystalline Gem City, gem people began to sing a short rap about Rarity. "Ohhhhh! She's a white pony with new gem powers! Cause she came to this planet from outer space! A refugee of Equestria's dark will! But now she's at your local Gem City! Rarity! She just morphed into Garnity! Rarity! She's super duper shiny! Rarity! She left Equestria behind! Rarity!"
Still in her Garnity form, Rarity heard this rap and began to walk down Gem City while several gem people took pictures of her. Then she reverted to her base form. "Why are you so glad I left Equestria? Oh that's right - Rainbow Power was no match for Equestria's dark will. Do I know you? You all look so familiar..." She tried to make sense of this strange familiarity.
”May I have your autograph?" One green gem boy held up a paper sheet. Nodding, Rarity levitated her pencil, signed her name onto the center of the paper, and glued three gems like her cutie mark's directly above her name.
At her side, Dr. Diamond showed floating footage of Friendship is Magic's villain episodes to another gem crowd. Having previously seen her epic battle with Gorvlitra and the Vlitroopers up close and personal, the now-angry crowds booed and threw tomatoes at Diamond's floating video screens, turning them completely red. "Those aren't real, old stallion!"
Diamond replied, "You're probably right. I have the feeling that the FiM villains were staged to promote relying on instant win buttons and letting known criminals slide. Not Equestria's dark will for some reason."
He and Rarity then arrived at an arcade. After playing various games, the two unicorns saw a blue gem boy inserting quarters into an "Elements of Harmony" arcade machine. The boy had counted "37, 38, 39, 40. This better be worth it" before his game started up. On the screen, the Mane Six faced down Discord with the Elements. He simply stood there for 30 seconds, took one blast from the Six, and turned to stone.
"YOU WIN" flashed on the screen, leaving the boy disappointed. He walked away and started sobbing.
"Broken Magnum!" Rarity, back in Garnity form, shot a spinning gauntlet through the Elements screen, destroying the whole machine in an explosion. Another machine took its place, revealing a virtual reality boxing game starting Garnity. "Would you like this one, darling? Wait...why did I just do that?!?"
The boy inserted one quarter in the game to start it up, thanked Rarity, and began to play the much better game. "Thank you, Rarity! This game is more awesome than those boring Elements of Harmony! Here, you can have this." He then gave her a light blue gem that also had her cutie mark engraved into it."
However, Rarity was concerned that there might by a massive anti-friendship conspiracy. "Thanks but...Those Elements of Harmony were powered by the magic of friendship." She then turned to Dr. Diamond. "What about the morphing gems, Dr. Diamond?"
Dr. Diamond shook his head and then chuckled. "No, because then you wouldn't have been able to use it alone! I sent you to Equestria to live as a pony with the magic of friendship, but knew you'd be separated from your friends eventually."
Then Mavlitracore, a Manticore with black hide and red veins, landed in Gem City, knocking over a gem statue of Rarity and beginning to snack on hapless civilians. As her horn flashed very brightly for a second, she announced "Gem City's in trouble! I'm sensing another Dark Equestrian monster!"
Rarity and Diamond then deployed to fight Mavlitracore. "Take this, ruffian!" Remembering her encounter with a regular Manticore back in Equestria, Rarity charged forward and performed a tail sweep to trip Mavlitracore. As Mavlitracore retaliated with a sideways claw swipe, Rares jumped and countered with a roundhouse kick to its left cheek, knocking it sideways.
White getting up, Mavlitracore began stretching its scorpion tail to attack Diamond, who formed a levitating diamond shield to repeatedly block the tail. Eventually, the tail began to drill through the shield. Before Diamond could get poked, Rarity changed into her Garnity form, grabbed the tail with her gauntlet, and slammed Mavlitracore back and forth repeatedly before it shot her with an exploding energy ball from its mouth, knocking her away. As Rares got back up, she yelled "Broken Magnum" and shot her right gauntlet at Mavlitracore, but Mavlitracore knocked it aside with a claw swipe. The gauntlet slammed into Diamond, who blocked it with his shield but slid back from the inertia. Rares then fired her left gauntlet at Mavlitracore's face, but Mavlitracore began to chew on the gauntlet. "Looks like it's time to use that other morphing gem I got from the gem boy...Pearlity Henshin!" Rares then gave off a light blue flash and materialized onto her a light blue shirt with a yellow star in the center, a bow on her back, yellow shorts, blue shoes, and pink socks. In addition, a spear then emerged from her foreleg and levitated in front of her.
Diamond and Rarity then switched positions. Diamond announced "Rarity, I'll take him from the front. Go for the tail!" before jumping over Mavlitracore's claw and treating its face to a Dempsey Roll. Meanwhile, Rarity used her new spear to swordfight with Mavlitracore's tail. Her unicorn magic allowed her to also kick Mavlitracore in the rump hard during the swordfight. As Mavlitracore then bit forward, Diamond evaded the bite with a sideways dodge and roundhouse kicked Mavlitracore to Diamond's left. Diamond then blocked one energy ball from Mavlitracore, then Rarity sliced another in half with her spear. "Now Rares, your spear can shoot lasers too." Rarity then pointed her spear at Mavlitracore's eye and fired a small laser at it, momentarily blinding the manticore long enough for Rarity to stab it through the head. However, the manticore was unfazed and began to pull the spear out of its head. Before the spear could be extracted, Rarity repeatedly kicked the manticore in the face while spinning back and forth on the spear. Then Mavlitracore threw the spear aside, at which point Rarity jumped off and drop kicked Mavlitracore sideways.
As Mavlitracore got up and then started flying really high, Diamond jumped and grabbed its tail to keep the tail stuck to the ground. However, the tail just stretched as Mavlitracore ascended. Rarity began to climb up the tail while still slicing through energy balls shot at her. "Please get down from there, darling", she quipped before slicing off Mavlitracore's wings and tail, allowing its body to fall to the ground. Then she accompanied this by charging up a powerful spear slash while descending. "Pearl Splitter!" Upon landing, she cut right through Mavlitracore. "Embrace the darkness and sleep, darling." Mavlitracore then split in half and exploded. Rarity then posed with Diamond and announced "Explosively completed!" But just before she could celebrate her victory, a single Vlitrooper with a glowing blue sword jumped out and took a swing at her, which she blocked with her spear. Meanwhile, four other Vlitroopers prepared to attack Diamond...

Today's Gem Fusion information: Pearlity. Wields an energy spear which Rarity can charge with lightsaber-like energy and shoot energy blasts. Can erase energy shots.
