“So,” Celestia began. “I understand your position, Twilight. But have you ever really tried it?”

It was the next day. They were having a light breakfast, as far away from Luna’s part of the castle as possible. Both were dressed rather more reasonably than before, but alas, Celestia had made it clear that she wasn’t going to let the events of last night go.

“Well, no, but-”

“Then it’s hardly fair to declare that you can’t enjoy it, isn’t it?” The elder Princess smiled softly to lessen the harshness of her interruption.

Twilight frowned, buttering her toast with a bit more effort than was entirely necessary.

“Ok, sure, but I just don’t understand why anybody would even want that! I mean, you want me to…” her voice went soft, as though she were afraid someone was listening in. “To pretend to be evil, and tie you up, and treat you like a slave and s-“ her voice dropped further, embarrassed to even say the words “s-spank you and, I mean, isn’t that just kind of…abusive?” She stuffed a corner of bread into her mouth. “I mean, you’re Princess Celestia! You rule half the world! You’re immortal and mighty and…” she gestured with her over-buttered bread. “Tall. You’re the Unconquered Sun! You don’t sleep with bad guys, you fight them. I just…I don’t see why you would want any of the stuff you want me to do.”

“Well, I think you’ve hit on it right there, sweetie. I do rule. I have for eons now. Every day, I have the responsibility to telling my people what they can and cannot do. I have to make decisions that affect, even determine, the lives of thousands. Millions now, actually. My word can seal a person’s fate, Twilight. Did it occur to you that such a duty might wear on me, from time to time?”

“Er, sure. Ok. B-“

“And, that being the case, that maybe I might like for someone else take over for a bit? Hand over the reins, if you will? Let someone I love and trust do a bit of determining my fate, if just for a little while. It’s honestly kind of liberating in a way, being told what to do. I know that probably sounds backwards.” She smiled endearingly.

Twilight’s lovely little mouth worked as she tried to marshal some kind of defense. She took another bite of toast to buy some time.

“Fine,” she said, swallowing. “But why the um, bondage? And the villain thing?”

“Well, I suppose it’s true that I am all of those things you said, Twilight, and that yes, I do mostly fight villains, rather than engage with them in other ways. But fighting is passionate. Surely you’ve noticed that, in your adventures? A good battle is exciting! It makes you feel alive! Taking a stand against some nemesis in glorious personal combat is just..." Celestia shivered as a little thrill went through her at the thought of it. “It’s like a physical affirmation of everything you believe in.”

“Right, but you want to pretend to lose.”

“Oh, well, sometimes you can sort of…win by losing? I’ve pulled a few punches in my time, only to ‘conquer’ my opponent in other ways.”

Twilight sputtered out half the tea she’d been drinking.

“Wait, what!? You’ve lost on purpose!? And then…what?”

Celestia shrugged with a sheepish smile.

“Not lost, exactly. Better to say that I allowed a draw. Most of Equestria’s nemeses aren’t really that evil, as I’m sure you’ve observed. Many can be surprisingly reasonable after a good scrap and a bit of, ah, intimate time with their erstwhile opponent.” More seriously, she said. “It can be tiresome, taking a fall when you’d rather just punt someone into the Sun, but that’s all part of rulership, Twilight. You learn to make compromises for the sake of your people. You’ve never seen what happens when I truly throw myself at an enemy, so I suppose you’ll just have to take my word for it, but this way really is far better for all involved. You still have to be careful, because they are villains after all, and that takes some of the fun out of it, but it works.”

“Oh,” said her paramour. Recent events involving villains in Equestria were starting to make a lot more sense to Twilight.

“But doing such things with someone you love, someone you know won’t betray your trust, that’s completely different, baby. It’s really not abusive at all, as long as your partner is into it. It’s like a game. Just a fun bit of fantasy, where we can do all the things we maybe want to do but normally never would, or are afraid to ask for. And I trust you, Twilight. I love you. And so I want to share this part of myself with you. And I want you to feel like you can do the same with me. I promise, I’ll never judge you for anything you want in bed. I’ve always prided myself on being a very giving lover. In fact,” she said, fully aware that she was flagrantly cheating in the relationship game by playing her cards this way, “I seem to recall that we’ve already done several things that I wasn’t entirely comfortable with at your very convincing insistence.” She smiled a completely reasonable smile. “Um…” said Twilight, eyes focused somewhere under Celestia’s face.

"Like that time we did it on the balcony of my room, even though you know how I worry about people seeing us? And then in the Royal gardens, right after the Summer Sun Celebration? Or when you dressed up in your little schoolgirl outfit and somehow persuaded me to have my way with you over a desk, and had me call you my most faithful student, despite my numerous reserve-”

"OK! Ok, I get it! You can stop!" Twilight was incandescently blushing, caught between embarrassment and laughter. It was adorable.

"But, um, did you really not like it?" asked Twilight, honestly surprised. "The schoolgirl thing?" Celestia had certainly seemed enthusiastic enough at the time.

"Oh, I did. It just took some effort. I still remember you when you actually were in school, Twilight. The idea of doing the things that we did with a teenaged you is just..." She shuddered a little.

"Really!? I had no idea! I'm so sorry!"

Celestia waved her concerns away.

"It's nothing, Twilight. Really, don't worry. I had a delightful time once I got over it. But this is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. I never, ever would have done such a thing with you when you were in school, even if I’d known how you felt about me. But now that we're all adults, it's just a fun game we can play, even if it's not my favorite."

"Hrmm. Put that way," said Twilight, tapping her fork on a plate, "it looks like I owe you one. Ok, I’ll try again. Even if I totally don’t get why you’re into being dominated or whatever. You’ve convinced me.”

Celestia sat back, satisfied and certain that everyone was going to come out ahead on this.

"Thank you, sweetie. I think you’ll like it once you get into it. But, actually, I thought we might go at this from a different direction than last time?”

Twilight raised an eyebrow.

“As it happens,” began Celestia, poking at a bit of breakfast. “I have a, well, I guess you would call her an alter-ego.”

“Oh, I can’t wait to hear this. Um, darling?”

Twilight wasn’t the best at the pet name thing, but she tried.

“Yes, well, she’s more like…like an aspect of myself, I suppose, than an alter-ego.”

“Like Nightmare Moon and the Tantabus are for Luna?

“No! No, I wouldn’t go that far,” said Celestia, backpedaling. “The only reason I bring her up is that, in the same way I sometimes like to be ’dominated,’ as you put it, she likes to be the dominator.” She glanced up to see how Twilight took that.

“Ok,” she said, cautiously. “So, you want to…what?”

"Well, I thought I’d have you meet her. And maybe she could show you how to play the game.”

“Oh. Alright, sure. Does she have a name?”

“Yes. It’s, ah, Tyrant Sun.”

Twilight looked very, very dubious.

Celestia just smiled.

“I know. I know it sounds bad. But she’s no trouble, I promise.” It had been a couple of millennia since she’d last tried to conquer the world, after all. She and Celestia were over all that.

“Hrmm. Well. If you say so.”

“Wonderful! Oh, and one more thing.”

“Ok.”

“You should tell me a safe word.”

“A…safe word?”

Celestia could physically see the reservations mounting up in Twilight’s mind.

“It’s something people do when they’re…well, it’s in case you want to stop. If things get too intense.”

“Um. Why wouldn’t I just say I want to stop?”

“That’s all part of the game, honey. Remember how I said it’s a way to do all the things you normally wouldn’t?”

“So, ok, wait. If I tell you to stop while we’re playing this ‘game,’ you won’t? Unless I say the safe word?”

“Yes.” Celestia folded her hands in front of her and tried to make that sound reasonable. “It makes sense when you’re in the moment. You’ll see. Just say the word, and I, or Tyrant Sun, in this case, will stop whatever we’re doing immediately, no questions asked. But it should be something that has no place in the bedroom.” She hoped her smile didn’t look as desperate as it felt, because Twilight’s little frown was growing ever more worrisome. “It really isn’t…just…please?

Maybe it had been that bit about how she loved Twilight and trusted her, or perhaps it was just the girl’s insatiable curiosity, but to Celestia’s surprise and delight, her girlfriend agreed with only a shrug and no further argument.

“Ok. Pumpernickel.”

"Pardon?”

“That’s my safe word. Pumpernickel.”

Celestia swelled with happiness.

“Oh, thank you, Twilight. I promise this will be better than you think. And that’s a good word. Very cute.”

“Right. Sure. So,” she said, drumming her fingers on the table. “Should I wear anything special? For this totally-normal-and-not-at-all-weird thing we’re doing?”

Twilight arrived at Celestia’s chambers later that evening, wearing the same schoolgirl outfit she’d worn that one time, when Celestia’d had her over the desk. Celestia might not be into that particular bit of costuming, but apparently this ‘Tyrant Sun’ loved it.

She wasn’t sure what to expect with all this. Her first talk with Celestia on the villain roleplay thing, which had been little more than ‘dress in this, pretend to be evil,’ had resulted in that earlier disaster, so she was a little nervous. How else was a girl supposed to feel about meeting someone named Tyrant? The dimmed lighting and empty halls weren’t helping. She pulled her skirt down for like, the thousandth time tonight. The little pleated skirt was technically wearable in public, but maybe only for certain occasions. Nightmare Night, for instance, when girls could get away with being well over half-naked, and dressing as an older, hotter version of your high-school self was a totally normal thing to do. And maybe only for someone who didn’t mind having people check out her butt all night. Twilight didn’t. She might be rather, ah, ‘efficiently built’ up top, but everyone agreed, her backside was something really special. A national treasure, Celestia had once called it. She may have been drinking at the time.

Under the skirt, good, old-fashioned white cotton. There were fancier options, but there was just something classically sexy about a nice pair of simple, white cotton panties. She raised a hand to knock on the doors, but they creaked open before she’d even touched them.

Twilight’s brows rose. She hesitated a bit before obeying, but obey she did. She stepped into the darkened room. Only a few, small, distant candles lit the normally glowing chamber. They ringed the room, leading to the huge banister bed that Twilight was now well familiar with. The doors drifted shut behind her.

“Um. Princess?” Twilight spoke into the dark.

“Princess?” responded the voice, slightly indignant.

The whole room came to life as a series of little fires ignited. The warm, sensual tones of torchlight led to what could only be called a throne. Maybe even an altar. The woman upon it didn’t sit. She sprawled. Reclined. One long, smooth leg was draped over the other. A hand held up Tyrant Sun’s chin. The other toyed with a bit of flame, held in her palm, being rolled up and over it like a juggler’s ball. She flowed up out of the seat as Twilight stared, snuffing the fire with a flick of her jeweled wrist. She strutted forward, hips swaying, stopping some few yards away.

Even at this first glance, Tyrant Sun was as far distant from Celestia as noon from night.

Tyrant Sun’s hair was the molten red of a savage dawn, highlighted with a bright orange, like liquid iron. It didn’t wave in some untouchable wind, but poured like a river of magma, the tips dancing with white-hot fire, shimmering and restless. She reached languorously up with both hands and ran long, ruby-painted fingers through that molten cascade, splaying it out as Twilight watched, momentarily dumbfounded.

Her face was the same as Celestia’s, her hands and breasts and hips the very same that Twilight knew and loved, but they were all so impossibly different at the same time. And her eyes. Goddess, those burning eyes! Twilight felt like she was being consumed, just being near this woman, and that was by no means a complaint. Sun let her hair fall down past her lower back as Twilight watched, sliding easily into a pose that really showed off everything she was. She grinned, diamond-white teeth flashing behind crimson lips.

“No, my dear. I am not your Princess.”

She wore all gold and black and crimson. It could almost be mistaken for armor, but like, fantasy novel armor. Her broad shoulders were out in the open, muscle unhidden. Her chest, which could only be described with words like ‘fulsome’ or ‘plentiful’ or other words with ‘full’ in them somewhere, pushed up against a bodice of some black, shimmery, unfeasibly form-fitting cloth, shot through with lines of shining metal. They were laced tight with glittering gold chain. A wide collar came down off around them, drawing one’s attention to what lay between, as if that needed doing. As Twilight’s eyes followed the costume’s lines down, she saw it was a bit like a one-piece swimsuit, ending between the swell of those glorious thighs. Over her hips, Tyrant Sun wore something like a belt or sash of heavy vermilion cloth. It did absolutely nothing to hide her figure and everything to emphasize it. On her legs, boots a bit like those Twilight had worn before, but…more. Thigh high, they were black and gold, again almost like armor, and led down to a truly astounding pair of shining, stiletto heels.

“My eyes are up here, darling.” She drew Twilight’s attention back up with the flick of finger.

Her arms were graced with décor much like the rest of her. Sleeves of sable and gold ran from her hands to past her elbows, held on not by gloves, but only a thin string that looped around her middle finger. It left her hands free to wear glittering rings and jingling bracelets and other adornments. The same hand that had snatched up Twilight’s gaze slid over Tyrant Sun’s flank, over her chest, up her throat. She crossed one arm under the other, resting her chin upon that hand, posing once more. She tapped one finger against her cheek, watching herself being watched.

She wore Celestia’s crown, Twilight finally noticed, but the gem within was a seething crimson, the same color as her nails, lips and eyes.

Saying nothing, Tyrant Sun spun into a turn that would have shamed even the haughtiest of fashion models, raising her arms above herself, making absolutely sure that Twilight noticed how well-fitted that outfit was with a slow, smooth shake of her hips at the end. She watched over her shoulder, wanting, demanding, to see her lover's speechless appreciation.

Twilight didn’t know her mouth was open.

“I trust you are suitably impressed.”

Not a question. A statement. Twilight tried to come up with an answer anyway.

“I, uh, yeah-er.”

Tyrant Sun turned back to face her, raising an imperious eyebrow.

“Surely you can do better than that.”

To say her voice was sexy would entirely fail to capture it. It smoked. It smoldered.

“O-of course! You’re uh, well, you’re, I mean,” Twilight flexed her hands. This was normally where she gave up on words and just jumped on Celestia. Touch was a much better way to communicate anyway. She stepped forward.

Tyrant crossed her arms over her chest, blocking Twilight as effectively as if she’d put up a wall.

“You’re normally so clever with that tongue of yours. Do you need me to help you, little girl? Why don’t you start with a compliment?”

Ok, well, that was kind of…insulting. But it did finally get Twilight’s brain working again.

“Right! W-*ahem* You, my lady, are gorgeous.”

Tyrant Sun looked down her nose, unimpressed.

“Incomparable? Transcendent! A goddess!”

Tyrant’s eyes lit up.

“Yes! Transcendent. A Goddess. I like that. Come, my little student,” she reached one hand toward Twilight. “Tell me more.”

Twilight jumped to take the offered hand. Wait. she wondered. Ok, hold on. What are we doing, exactly? She’d thought Tyrant Sun was going to explain the ‘game.’ Apparently she’d decided they should just play it, instead.

Tyrant Sun gripped her hand as soon as Twilight touched it. She raised it slightly up over her head. Twilight wasn’t sure what to do, and so, still a bit overwhelmed, she just kind of stood there.

Tyrant Sun gazed down at her. Was she actually taller than Celestia, or did it just seem that way?

“Come now, sweetling. Surely you know the basics, at least?”

“I, uh…”

Tyrant made a circling motion with one finger of her free hand.

“Oh! Right! I didn’t know we were danci-“

“Yes, yes, dear. Could you..?” She made the circling motion again, raising the hand that held Twilight’s own.

Twilight did a twirl, just as she would have on a dance floor, sending her skirt into a rather revealing spin. She was halfway to complaining that Celestia, or Tyrant Sun, or whoever-the-hell was being a kind of a royal bitch right now when the latter caught her in a tight hug and lifted her, kissing her deep.

Twilight melted, as she always did.

“Very good, darling.” Tyrant ran a hand down her back and over her skirt and then a ways back up, giving the cheek underneath a teasing squeeze. “You always look so good in a short skirt. Come along.” She set her down without another word and strutted toward the throne she’d lounged upon before, drawing Twilight with her by one hand. The girl found herself caught at some junction between indignation and arousal, and wondered why the two seemed to meet up so easily.

Sun flowed down into the seat, pulling Twilight with her such that the younger woman ended up sitting in her lap.

Tyrant Sun looked Twilight up and down for bit, a slight, unknowable smile on her lips. The moment went on. Twilight opened her mouth to say…something. She didn’t know what. It didn’t matter.

“I like this,” said Tyrant, cutting her off, tracing her fingers down the slightly strained buttons of Twilight’s shirt. “And this is just…mmm.” Her fingers grazed Twilight’s belly and then further down, just over bits of cloth between her legs. The girl leaned back, ready and oh-so-willing for those fingers to do more. But rather than slip under the skirt, they moved further down, sliding over her thigh and knee and calf, stopping. “But these are a bit…”

Twilight looked down at the socks that led into her boots. Tyrant Sun waved a hand at them.

“Why don’t you just get those out of the way, darling?”

“Um.” Her shoes hadn’t been a problem last time. She’d just taken everything else off around them, no big deal.

“Well?” said Tyrant Sun, watching her, hands now firmly on the rests of her throne.

“Ok, what is this?” Twilight demanded. “You were supposed to tell me how to play this game or whatever, but you’re just…I don’t even know.”

“What this is, little girl,” stated Tyrant Sun, eyes aglow, “is an order. Take those off, immediately!”

“Fine! Jeez!”

Twilight hopped off Sun/Celestia’s lap and leaned over to untie her boots for no damned reason at all. She wished she knew what this was about, and why Sun was acting like that, and why it so hot the way her eyes had glowed right there.

“Ugh. Love, I do enjoy your spirit, and the show you’re giving me, but you could at least put some effort into it. Disrobing is an art. Take your time.”

Twilight glared back, further confused. She looked at her boot, half off her foot, then back at Tyrant Sun, who was resting her chin on one palm, grinning smugly.

“It’s all part of the game, sweetling.”

Ok. Wait. Twilight did a bit of mental math. Bent over like she was, with a skirt like she was wearing…ok, yeah, that would certainly provide a show. But what was the rest of that? About art and spirit and the weird mix of insults and affection? Was Sun expecting her to take off her boots in a sexy way, or something? Was that even possible? Twilight straightened up, turned around, and leaned down to sit lightly on the floor. She spread her legs while making sure her skirt just barely covered her. Alright. I can get into this.

She unlaced the other boot, in no hurry this time.

“Oh, come now,” said Sun, waving a hand. “Off with it!”

Twilight frowned.

“You just told me to take my time!”

“You’ve taken plenty. And I believe what I said was to do what I tell you, so hurry up with it!”

Twilight was fairly certain she’d said no such thing. Am I supposed to argue, or do whatever arbitrary thing Sun says, or what? She was hypothetically learning what Celestia wanted done to her, right? And she wanted to be dominated, so…

Twilight went with ‘do whatever she says.’

“Of course, my lady.”

“Pah! Again with this ‘lady’ nonsense. What am I, some talentless noble harlot?”

“Uh, of course not. Princess, then?”

“Mm.” Tyrant Sun re-crossed her legs, intently watching as Twilight slowly uncovered her own.

“Will Your Majesty suffice?”

“Hmph.” Sun’s lips pouted a bit. She clearly wanted something specific. “And slow down. You have such lovely little toes.”

Twilight loosed the last of her laces, freeing her foot in as slow and sexy a way as she could think of. What would someone named Tyrant want to be called..?

Tyrant Sun’s eyes sparked anew.

“Yes! Mistress. Say it again!”

“Is there anything else you’d like me to take off, mistress?”

Sun gave her a grin, but it was a sharp one. She raised a hand and crooked one finger, drawing Twilight forward. Twilight went, placing herself back on her mistress’s lap. “Somebody,” she said in that smoking voice, “needs a lesson in humility.”

Celestia shrugged, blushing.

“Hah! Alright, sure. And the uh, really weird stuff? How much more is there?”

“Oh. Well.” Celestia managed to look eager, embarrassed, and elegant all at once. It was the kind of thing only she could pull off. “We did a little role-play already, but it can go much further. And then there’s bondage and teasing, which we barely touched, and the, um, well, the butt stuff, and foot play, which I love, and tons of costume things, but that’s really just part of role-play. “Oh,” said Celestia, cringing. She’d almost forgotten Twilight was leaving in the morning. A trip to Manehatten for some much needed vacation with a side of historical research. Only Twilight Sparkle would think to equate the two. “Right. Sorry, angel. Just, eh, think of them as a little secret between you and me. How long are you going to be gone again?”

“There could be worse secrets, I guess. Till Saturday.”

It was Sunday. Almost a full week then.

“And I’ll have to wear turtle-necks the whole time, thanks to all these bites marks! And I won’t even be able to play with myself after the beating you put on my pussy! You really are a Tyrant!” She snuggled up against Celestia, grinning. “You’re lucky I’m such a faithful little student.”

Celestia laughed and caressed her girl as thoroughly as she could without actually having more sex with her.

“Well, your trip should give you plenty of time to plan Midnight Glitter’s terrible revenge.”

“So, it’s going to be her, is it? My own alter ego?”

I know you’ll surprise me, just like you always have. But we can think about all that later. You’ve got a big day tomorrow, so hush that pretty mouth and get some sleep.”

Twilight was already yawning. It was kind of amazing she’d managed to stay awake this long. She pressed herself up against Celestia and was out within seconds.

Twilight woke alone, curled up in that big, fuzzy blanket. This happened a lot in her relationships. Celestia was the very epitome of a morning person, and Twilight was a notorious grump before at least nine a.m and maybe a strong cup of coffee, so she was neither surprised nor upset to wake up alone. She had a nice, languorous stretch, marred only slightly by all the little pains the night’s adventure had left her with, and then rolled off the blanket when she felt she was ready. Her train didn’t leave till well after noon, so there was no hurry. Twilight ambled to the bathroom without bothering to dress because she was a grown-ass woman and could walk around naked if she felt like it. She stopped when she saw herself in the full-length mirror and almost laughed.

“Yup. Definitely gonna need a turtleneck,” she said to no one.

Or at least a scarf. She hadn’t packed any, she’d need to have Spike send something. It was cool enough for either. She checked herself out a bit more, amused at the light bruises on her butt and various little marks across her back. She supposed she should be embarrassed, or something. Whatever.

She hopped into the shower and did all the other requisite morning bathroom things, then sauntered out in search of the travel bag she always brought on her trips to Canterlot. She never knew quite where it would end up. Usually it was just left in front of the big double doors of the bedroom, but sometimes she found it under the bed, or in a closet. She suspected Celestia’s staff might be messing with her a bit, making a little game of it to entertain themselves. And that was fine. She didn’t mind people knowing about her relationships. Worrying about that that was Celestia’s thing.

Before she found it, something better caught her eye. Food!

Sitting on the little end table near the doors was a tray full of breakfast, still warm. Celestia must have taken a moment from doing her morning Sun Princess stuff to have sent it for her. A warm little glow filled Twilight. She was so thoughtful!

Twilight abandoned her search for clothes in favor tackling this new situation. She descended onto the platter and, after spattering a wave of crumbs and/or juice all over herself in her excitement, began to wonder if maybe her decision to vigorously eat while nude might not have been the best one.

So, after shower number two, she went back to seeking out her things. She found her bag by the door, because Celestia had thought of that too, with what appeared to be a letter and a small gift box on top of it. Intrigued, Twilight reached for the scroll and popped it open.

“Dearest,

I’m terribly sorry to leave you so soon, but I’m afraid I have a very busy day and you just looked so peaceful this morning that I didn’t want to wake you. I hope you had as much fun last night as I did! I do owe you a bit of an apology though. I get excited when I let Tyrant Sun take over sometimes, and do things without thinking. Just know that I love you, and that the marks will fade in a day or two. I hope you can forgive me my excesses. I got you a little something to make up for my misbehavior. It’s nothing much, but I felt it was appropriate.”

Twilight rolled her eyes fondly. Always so apologetic. Of course she’d forgive her! There wasn’t even anything to forgive. Twilight made a mental note to tease her about that later.

“If it should happen that I don’t see you before you leave, have a wonderful time on your trip. Remember to take some time to see the sights between your studies. Manehatten is a truly marvelous place.

I shall, to borrow your own words, wait with bated breath for your return,

Aww. Thought Twilight. That was nice. Strange, but nice. Twilight set the letter aside and picked up the box. She untied the big, ridiculous bow and opened it. She had a good laugh at what she found inside: a pair of thin, white, cotton panties, nearly identical to the ones she’d been wearing last night. Where had Celestia even gotten them this early?

She gathered them, the letter, and the rest of her stuff, shoved everything into her bag, and then finally got dressed, because even grown-ass women had to do that eventually. Then she headed out to attack the day. She pointedly refused to be ashamed of any looks the hickies got her.

She shimmied her little outfit back into place and kicked herself up off the bed. She paced back and forth before her full length mirror, booted heels clicking against the floor.

How much longer until she comes back?

Three days, was it?

So long! Maybe We can go to Manehatten, meet her there? Buy out a whole floor of her hotel, make a real night of it?

Celestia sighed. No. She had full days all week. She couldn’t just ignore her responsibilities like that. Even if they have been dreadfully dull lately…

Tyrant Sun said nothing.

Celestia hadn’t noticed when Tyrant Sun had started speaking again. She didn’t notice she was doing it now. It had been a long time, but now that Sun was back, it all felt perfectly natural. Celestia actually felt a bit foolish for having locked this part of herself away for so long. If felt good, having her back. Exhilarating, even. But she wanted to do something. She wanted some excitement. She posed for herself, watching her own reflection. She let her hair flow into Tyrant Sun’s crimson deluge. She gave herself a wicked grin.

Maybe you don’t need Twilight. We’d both love to play with her more, certainly, but I know of another woman you’ve been neglecting who might be able to give what you need, Celestia.

This wasn’t turning out at all the way she’d hoped.

The first thing Tyrant Sun had done on assuming command was lock Celestia away. That part had worked fine. It had been so easy! Celestia had practically begged for it! Goddess, the woman let herself get so repressed! It was a good thing Sun was here to give her some release.

Perhaps the ease of her takeover should have made Sun more wary…

When she'd first strutted into the throne room like a conquering goddess, Tyrant Sun been ready for some commotion. Dismay, despair, maybe even outright hostility. She'd prepared for it. She’d been hoping for it! Many, she thought, would flee at the very sight of her. Others, the smart ones, would prostrate themselves before her. And a few, a brave, noble few, would stand firm in heroic defiance. Those were her favorites. Maybe they’d even try to fight her!

Aaah, the very thought of it had made her shiver in delight.

What Tyrant Sun had not been prepared for was a complete and enthusiastic acceptance of everything she was.

Raven, her head assistant, had immediately complimented her ‘hot, bold, new look’ and stated that it would ‘change everything about the public views its Princesses.’ She’d smiled as she said it. Smiled! She had been happy to see her like this!

Sun's first decree, that she was here to conquer Equestria, had elicited only polite confusion.

"But you already rule Equestria, your highness,” they had said.

Sun’s announcement that Equestria now had a prettier, better, stronger ruler was met with cheers. Actual fucking cheers! Even her declaration that she was no longer a princess, but a Queen went over impossibly well. That title had inspired nothing short of terror when last Tyrant Sun had strode the earth!

Her stated intent to consume Equestria’s malaise of mediocrity in the flames of her glorious might had met with applause, her plan to dissolve Equestria’s silly little republic and replace it with her own unquestioned, iron-fisted rule had resulted in her own court, the very people she planned to disempower, praising her ‘brazen disregard for tradition,’ her willingness to ‘shake things up,’ and ‘take command’ and ‘make the big decisions.’

She hadn’t even wanted to do that! She was just trying to scare them, and it had backfired completely! Utterly flummoxed, Sun had just flopped back in her throne, unable to even comprehend how this was happening.

“Well. Good then,” she’d finished, lamely.

Raven had stepped forth, eyes bright and eager, quill ready.

“How can we help you ring in this daring new era, your majesty?”

Tyrant Sun seethed. This wasn’t what she wanted at all! That first encounter in the throne room had set the tone for this whole damned day. Everyone was so absurdly helpful and positive. Every new person who saw Sun immediately admired how ‘fierce’ and ‘dynamic’ her outfit was. It was both of those things, of course, but it was dangerous and racy as well! Why weren’t they talking about that!? Wait, who cared about that? Why weren’t they afraid of her!? What had Celestia been doing while Sun was away? By what magic or trickery had she enamored these people into trusting her so?

Case in point, the pegasus beside her.

“Take that down! It irritates me.” Tyrant Sun waved her hand at a tapestry that would take an entire team of pegasus or unicorns an hour or more to move. “Put it up over there!” Her indicated location was no more than five feet from where it hung now.

“Immediately, my Queen!”

He spread his wings and was in the air before she could even be properly disgusted with him. He was so eager! So perfectly willing to appease her arbitrary demands, no matter how ridiculous. It was infuriating!

She could simply explode one of them, she supposed. That would get the results she wanted. But only a lunatic would break her own toys. She might be a harsh mistress, but a mistress she was, and a mistress was nothing without her servants. But honestly, did they have to be so easy about it?

Contrary to most villains, Tyrant Sun had little interest in actually ruling the world. She didn’t really want it crawling on all fours, trembling at her every word, begging to do her bidding. Well, she did, but more than that, she wanted to conquer it. She wanted to break the world over her knee in glorious combat and force it to crawl on all fours, trembling at her every word, etc, etc. And even then, that was mostly in the hopes of producing a hero that would rise to fight her again, even stronger than those who she’d defeated before. She was a warrior, dammit, not a bureaucrat! All she wanted was some decent conflict!

Actually, on further thought, all Sun really wanted was her girlfriend. Ugh! Why had she ever let her leave? Oh, how she longed to give her little girl another spanking. Twilight knew what she wanted…

At that very moment, the massive double doors of the throne room slammed open.

“Sister!” bellowed Luna in a tone most royal. “What are these nonsense decrees you’ve been tossing about? What are you-”

Luna! Now there was someone Sun could always count on for a good tussle! Why hadn’t she thought of this before? There was no one in the world that could fight like Luna when she was properly enraged. Plus, Tyrant could never be entirely sure she’d be able to come out on top, and that risk made the conquest all the sweeter. This was perfect!

“Luna!” Tyrant Sun bellowed in return, eyes aglow with rising battle lust. Flames licked at the ground near her. “Do my decrees offend you, sister!? Then face me! Prove yourself by force!”

Luna’s eyes went wide as she recognized her sister’s villainous alter ego. Then, quick as a shadow, she was gone, disappearing without so much as a sound.

“AUUUGH!” screamed Tyrant. She balled her hands up into fists and stomped one boot, leaving a stiletto-shaped crack in the stone. “Come on! I’m so bored!”

“She’s so strong!” said one of her subjects.

“I wish I could be like her…” opined a second.

“We’ll have that fixed immediately, my Queen,” said Raven.

“AAAAUUUGGGHHH!”

Luna re-emerged in her own chambers, eyes still wide in shock.

“What the Fuck!?”

The guards outside her open door jumped. Luna ignored their queries. She was busy remembering an event from a few days past. She’d thought it was funny at the time…

“Fucking Tartarus, Celestia! Really? That’s all it took?” She grabbed a few things and leapt out her balcony window, casting some quick magic to hide her presence, mind working furiously. She wasn’t going to fight her sister, not here, not in the middle of a city.

She let her wings catch air as she pondered what to do.

Well, Twilight had caused this, maybe she could fix it. But…dammit. Luna didn’t know where she was, just that she had left Canterlot. Luna tilted towards Ponyville. Maybe Twilight’s friends would know. Either way, she could find the girl while she dreamed tonight. She’d just have to hope Tyrant Sun didn’t do anything too crazy in the meantime…

Celestia stroked her long and dexterous tongue between Twilight’s legs.

“Is this good, baby?”

Twilight tried to respond, but her mouth was full. All that came out was a muffled “Mhmm.”

“How about this?” said the second Celestia, pressing her breasts up further against Twilight’s face as the girl licked at them.

“Mhmm!”

“And this, boss?” asked the third Celestia, dressed in an absurdly skimpy bit of secretary-themed lingerie, between sucking on Twilight’s toes.

The fourth Celestia had just squeezed in beside the second, burying Twilight in the best avalanche ever when…

“Twilight Sp-Gah! Goddess above! Do the two of you ever think of anything but sex!?”

Twilight looked up, torn unpleasantly and unwillingly out of the dream as her several partners *poofed* out of existence. She found herself floating naked in some kind of pale cloudscape.

“I-What?”

Her attention gradually found focus on the only dark point in this radiant realm.

“Luna?”

“Who else!?” snapped the Moon Princess, facing away, arms crossed. “Make thyself presentable! I must speak with thee!”

A cloud coalesced under Twilight, and within seconds the whole scene had changed to something more like her old library. A simple dress formed over her, and she descended lightly onto a nice, wooden stump of a chair. All of this seemed perfectly reasonable to Twilight, caught as she was between dream and wakefulness. The many Celestias, alas, were nowhere to be seen. Regretting their absence might have been the thing that finally drew Twilight up into lucidity.

“Oh! Hi, Luna. What’s up?”

Luna looked back over one shoulder, checking that Twilight had actually bothered to dress herself. She had to be reminded every time. The woman’s latent exhibitionism really came out in the dream realm.

“What is up, Twilight Sparkle, is that your paramour has just declared her intent to conquer Equestria!”

“Um. She already runs Equestria. Along with you.”

“Yes, this argument has been made. Do you suppose I would be bothering you if simple reason could convince her?”

“Well, no, I guess not. But-”

“And once she is done there, she plans to do the same to the rest of the world!”

“What? But that’s-”

“Mad? Yes! It is!”

“But Celestia would never-”

“No, she would not. But perhaps there is someone else who might? Someone living within her? Someone you may have recently been introduced to?”

“Ok, wait, hold on. You mean Tyrant Sun?”

“Of course I mean Tyrant Sun! Who else would I mean!?”

“There’s no need to get snippy, Luna!”

“There is every need to get snippy! Let me make a guess as to how this came about,” said Luna, rubbing at her temples. “Celestia came to you and made a very brave, very endearing confession about certain needs that she wished to have fulfilled, and you, good little student that you are, promised to give her whatever she felt she had to have. And it was then that she told you about this other persona of hers, and then very earnestly pleaded with you to just play along because you would almost certainly enjoy it more than you might think. Is any of this sounding familiar?”

“Um. Sort of?”

Luna sighed, words growing in volume as she went on.

“I see. Did it ever occur to you, Twilight, that it might not be the best idea to indulge the whims of someone who’s literal name is Tyrant Sun!?!?”

“I-b-but she said Sun wouldn’t be a problem!”

“Of course she said that! What else would she have said!? ‘Oh, hello, honey, I’m off to try to take over the world, but ‘tis fine because you’ll get some really dirty sex out of it.’ That’s how our evil sides work, Sparkle! They’re clever and sexy and devious and make everything sound reasonable! Ugh!”

“Well, I’m sorry if I trusted her because she’s honest and good and has never betrayed me or anyone else ever! And that is not fair! I’m not going to let you judge us just because we want things that aren’t-”

Luna waved a hand, kneading at her brow again.

“Yes, I know. You are right, Twilight Sparkle. My insecurities over being powerless to stop this disaster are making me lash out at you despite you being the only person I could think to ask for help, and my jealousy of your abilities is cocking it all up. I apologize.”

“Oh. Wow. That was…honest.”

The two women fidgeted for a long moment.

“So, why can’t you do anything about it?”

Luna sighed once more.

“Because we swore never to fight again. Has Celestia shown you what happens when we truly throw ourselves at an enemy?”

“I guess not, no. But she said something about it. It’s…bad?”

“Hah. Yes. Worse than that. 'Tis why we never do anything directly. But you are free of such constraints.” Luna smirked, already melting away into dream stuff. “Outside the bedroom, anyway. You and your friendship and whatnot can fix this. So get to it!”

“Wait!”

Luna had been fading, but she halted.

“How did you know all that? About what happened?”

“We are sisters, Sparkle. We talk. No subject is forbidden between us.”

“Right, great, thanks for that thought. But I meant Tyrant Sun. Is she like Nightmare Moon was for you? Does every Princess have one of those? Do I have one?”

“Everyone has a dark side, Twilight. Ours are simply more literal. It comes with power I think, so perhaps you will form your own, in time.”

“Wow. Ok.” That was certainly something to think about. “Has she, I don’t know, escaped, or taken over, or whatever, before?”

“Several times. Though not usually by such, hm, unorthodox means.”

“Ok, so how did you get her under control then?”

“We had a fight that levelled half of Old Canterlot.”

“Oh.”

“Indeed. Now, if it would not be too much a burden, get your narrow ass back to Canterlot and fix this!”

Twilight’s eyes fluttered open. The memory of that last dream stuck with her, forcing her into wakefulness even as she tried to roll away from it. She gave in after only a token bit of tossing and/or turning, threw the covers aside and stumbled out of bed. She stopped in front of the bathroom mirror for a second. She turned to one side, nodding in satisfaction at what she saw there. Then she took her pleasantly curvy and not narrow at all ass into a quick shower, threw on some clothes, and hopped aboard the fastest train she could find to Canterlot.

It was mid-morning when she arrived. Luna, wearing the guise of someone else, but still so regally imperious that it couldn’t possibly fool anyone who’d ever met her, found Twilight within moments.

“Sparkle," she nodded.

“Luna. So, what’s the plan?”

“There is no plan, as of yet. Tyrant Sun has some grand announcement planned, and it would almost certainly be best if we stopped her from making it, though I doubt we shall have the time. Your friends are on their way.”

“Ok. That’s something. When’s the announcement?”

“It happens as we speak.”

Luna distorted strangely, and it took Twilight a moment to realize that it wasn’t her, specifically, but the space around her. The Moon Princess teleported the both of them into an enormous crowd. At a glance, she recognized the place as one of Canterlot’s huge courtyard areas, ideal for festivals, snow days, and, it turned out, mysterious proclamations by power-mad secondary personalities. It looked like half the city was here. No one seemed to notice their sudden appearance though, and for a moment Twilight was briefly, intensely jealous of Luna.

Teleportation is loud and flashy, not subtle! How does she do things like that!?

“Up there.” Luna directed Twilight’s attention to a raised platform. Tyrant Sun, immediately recognizable by her flaming hair and distinctive sashay, was just walking toward a great, black and gold podium. Two sets of curving stairs led up to the dais, both blocked by guards. “I dare not show myself just yet, so I will remain here. Go do you what you do, Twilight.”

She pushed the younger woman forward.

“Wait! What am I supposed to-”

But Luna was already gone.

“Do..? Alright then.”

She had dealt with things like this before. Lots of times. Just had to go up there and talk her once-teacher-now-lover-who-lived-in-terror-of-anyone-discovering-she-might-ever-have-had-sex into giving up this whole villainy thing in a way that wouldn’t blow their cover. In front of a crowd. Sure. Simple.

Not that their relationship was a secret, exactly. Twilight was certain that the entire castle knew about it, at least. How could they not? Two grown women spending the night together several times a week was a bit of a give-away. It would be more suspicious if they weren’t having sex. Celestia was just kind of weird about it. Twilight didn’t much care for it, but that was a battle for another time.

Should she just teleport up there? Fly? Hrmm. No. The guards would go crazy. She had no idea what Celestia could be thinking with all this, but Twilight held out hope that she could still be reasoned with. Best to get it sorted without a fuss, if possible.

She made her way as best she could through the crowd to the podium. As a rather slight woman in a sun dress and sandals, Twilight knew she didn’t make the most imposing figure, so she put on her best imitation of Luna’s truly masterful bitch-face, lit up her horn, called in her wings, and compensated for lack of size with attitude. It seemed to work well enough. The guards tried to stop her of course, but only as long as it took her to scowl at them, flare her wings, and declare,

“Twilight Sparkle! Princess of Friendship! Out of the way!”

The two soldiers hopped smartly aside without apparent thought. This pleased Twilight. She’d been practicing her bitch-face. It was nice to see it pay off.

“Apologies, Princess, we didn’t know you were here! But this is such a relief! Would you like an escort?”

“No, I don’t think so. I just need to talk to Princess Celestia.”

One man, a unicorn, looked at the other, a pegasus.

“She’s ah, going by Tyrant Sun now, your majesty. Queen Tyrant Sun.”

“I…see.” Queen, huh? That couldn’t be good. “What’s this about? Why is she holding this gathering?”

“We were hoping you knew, m’lady. The Pri-eh, Queen has been acting very strangely for the last few days.”

“Strange how? Evil? Has she hurt anybody?” Urgency wove into Twilight’s voice as she spoke. Luna hadn’t given her much to go on.

“No, your majesty. She hasn’t done anything I’d call evil, exactly.” The guard looked to his comrade, who nodded. “But there’s been a lot of talk about conquest and glory and making Equestria great again.”

“Again?” asked Twilight. “Equestria has never been greater than it is right now. We hold an amazing amount of territory and resources, and our standard of living is the highest in the world! How much greater can it get?”

“Er. Yes, Princess. Like I was saying, it’s all very exciting, but nobody’s quite sure what to make of it. Some of us guards are starting to worry we might have an S-7 on our hands.”

Twilight blinked. Oh, right. That was guard-speak. They loved their acronyms.

“Remind me what a Situation 7 is?”

“Of course, your majesty. It’s when a Princess or other important person has been replaced by some kind of alternate dimension version of herself. As opposed to an S 6, which is replacement by changeling, or S 8, which is replacement by something not covered by S 5, 6, or 7. ”

Twilight considered this. Nonsense like that happened so often that people probably wouldn’t bat an eye over it. And the guards did have a term for it, so…

“Yes. Yes, I’m certain that is exactly what’s happened. You should make sure to tell everyone you know that that is exactly what happened. Thank you. I’m going up.”

The guards saluted and Twilight ascended the stairs to top of the platform. It was smaller than it looked from the ground.

Ok. So where is…Aha!

Tyrant Sun stood at the podium, a scant few meters away, striking a majestic pose. Honestly, everything that woman did was a pose. She appeared to be doing nothing more than basking in the crowd’s attention for the moment, grinning out at them.

Twilight took an unintentional moment to appreciate the view Sun’s outfit provided. She couldn’t decide if it was better seeing her from the front or the back… Anyway! Twilight cleared her throat of nothing.

“Princess?”

“I believe I gave specific orders not to-” Tyrant Sun turned back just far enough to notice Twilight standing there. Her eyes lit ablaze.

“There you are! My wonderful, naughty little girl!”

Tyrant Sun abandoned the podium, strutting away from the crowd as if they weren’t there and never had been.

Twilight ran a hand through her hair and fought not to giggle eagerly.

“Um, hi, Mi-Princess!” She’d almost said Mistress. Dammit, Twilight, get it together!

“Oh, how I’ve missed you! Come here, darling!”

“I-Wait! I have to-mmph!”

The words were lost as Tyrant Sun lifted Twilight into a tight embrace, kissing her fiercely, pressing in close. One of Twilight’s legs wrapped around Tyrant’s on pure reflex.

“That’s my girl.” Sun breathed into her. “How dare you make me wait so long to see you again, you wicked thing.”

“I uh, I’m sorry, but-”

“You certainly should be sorry. But I forgive you. Let it never be said that I am not a generous Mistress.”

“Oh, um, sure, but-”

Tyrant’s hands wrapped tight around Twilight’s hips. She lifted her with ease and placed Twilight atop the balustrade surrounding the platform on which they stood. She stepped in between Twilight’s legs, hands questing over and into the girl’s light sundress.

“Oh, you remembered! What a good little girl you are!”

It took Twilight a moment to guess what Sun was talking about. Then she saw a flash of white as Tyrant’s hand snuck under her dress. The panties! The ones Celestia had somehow gotten her. Dammit, why had she worn those today!? Embarrassing as that was, thinking of Celestia reminded Twilight of what she had actually come here for.

“Princess, just wait a second! We have to, oh my, we have to-” Twilight tried to close up, tried to push Sun off. If she’d had any idea this was going to happen, she would have worn something that was harder to take off.

Or maybe not. Hard to say, just now…

“No we don’t. We don’t have to do anything. But we can do everything. Right now, in fact. But enough talking. Let’s play.”

The crowd, now mostly on Twilight’s left, had gone from open chatter to a quiet, very attentive murmur. Maybe that was what suddenly reminded her that they were there. She could see them out of the corner of her eye. Which meant they could see her.

“Princess, we can’t! There’s people!” She pointed at them. That should do it. The very idea of making such a display of herself should get Celestia back in control.

“Hm? Oh, them?” Sun waved dismissively at the mob. “Pfah. Don’t worry about them. They do anything I say. I’ll tell them to turn around or something.”

Oh. Well. This could be a problem.

Sun leaned in close, voice breathy. “And don’t you even try to pretend you’re not into this. I remember all those times you dragged Celestia out and made her fuck you in the open. Did you think I’d forget? I know you, baby. And I know you’re loving this. They are too. Take a look.” She took Twilight’s chin and turned her head far enough toward the avidly watching crowd that the only way she could even pretend they were alone would be by closing her eyes. “Now, let’s give them a real show, shall we?”

“U-um.” Twilight tried to fight it. She really did! But alas, her wings had already hit half-mast and there wasn’t damned thing she could do about it. It was just…

A single, resounding *smack* echoed through the courtyard as Luna’s palm collided with her forehead.

Alright. She should have seen this coming. Given what she knew about Twilight, this outcome should have been obvious. Fair enough. This was a turning into a complete disaster, but she was the Princess of the Night and she could handle this. This could be saved. Somehow.

Then Luna had an idea.

It was just, for the last few years, what with all the heroics and her coronation and all that, Twilight had spent a lot of time in the limelight. And maybe, through no fault of her own, she might, completely unintentionally mind you, have developed a bit of a taste for it. So maybe she wasn’t fighting as hard as she could have. Perhaps her mind was not entirely clear. And really, it was hardly fair and honestly how many opportunities like this could a girl ever expect to Oh, sweet goddess was that her mother!?

Twilight’s everything clapped shut tight.

It wasn’t her mother, as it happened. It was Luna, disguised as her mother. She made a gesture at the girl, one that transcended nearly all language and cultural barriers. It expressed a simple, quite emphatic question. It asked,

“Oh, so that’s how it’s going to be is it?” She sounded greatly pleased.

Twilight’s head whipped back to Tyrant Sun, an idea forming.

“Pumpernickel?”

Tyrant Sun blinked, looking, just for a moment, truly angry.

“What!?”

“Pumpernickel!”

Sun blinked again, face contorting through several emotions at once. But when her eyes finally really focused, they were the calm violet of Celestia’s.

They didn’t stay calm for long.

Celestia looked at her, confused, hair flowing back into its usual waving rainbow. She looked down at herself, and what she was wearing. She looked at where her hands were, and what they were up to. She looked past Twilight and into the expectant crowd beyond, eyes widening, lips parting in dawning horror. She looked back at Twilight, desperately.

“Um. Hi.” Twilight made a little wave with one hand.

A tiny, strangled sound escaped Celestia’s throat. The nascent scream cut off as Celestia vanished with a little *pop* of cool, blue magic.

Hah! thought Luna. Verily didst I nail it!

Suddenly unsupported, Twilight nearly fell off the balustrade. She heard the guards storming up the stairs as she recovered her balance, if not her dignity, from the clumsy landing.

“Are you alright, Princess? What happened?”

“I’m fine! Um, hang on.”

Twilight stepped to the podium and quickly addressed the crowd.

“Ah, hello! Sorry about all that! Totally taken care of though, everybody can go now!”

Sounds of disappointment filtered up from below. Twilight ignored them as best she could and turned to the guards.

"Ok, make sure everybody gets home safe for me. I have to go and, um, take care of some things." Said things were mostly between her legs. She managed to keep her hands away from them for the next few seconds. "And, guards?”

“Yes, m’lady?”

“That was definitely an other-dimensional double. It certainly was not the real Celestia. Please make sure everybody knows, ok? Thanks, bye!”

And then, with another, somewhat flashier *pop,* she was gone.

One guardsman turned to the other.

“Think it was actually her?”

“Oh, totally. Friggin’ hot, though.”

“I know! Anyway, let’s go tell everybody it was a double or whatever.”

Meanwhile, in the Solar Wing of Canterlot castle, Celestia *poofed* back into existence. Her wail of primal, mortified terror shook the tower from top to bottom.

“You wouldn’t!” cried Celestia, struggling against the silky ties that held her to the bed.

“Oh, I, Midnight Glitter, mistress of the dark arts, most certainly will, my little Princess!” declared Twilight Sparkle, with her best attempt at a villainous laugh.

Celestia bit her lip, preparing herself for what was to come.

Midnight hopped onto the bed, straddling her.

“I’ll do just about whatever I want, I think!” Midnight’s riding crop hit the pillow by Celestia’s head with a sharp *pop!* She slid it across the older Princess’s neck, down into her bountiful, largely exposed bosom, and up onto one breast, pushing aside the diaphanous white gossamer that endeavored to hide it. She slapped the toy lightly onto Celestia’s nipple. It perked up at the attention.

“Y-you beast!” Celestia gasped, squirming under her paramour’s hips.

“I’m sorry!” blurted Twilight, recoiling. “Was that too much!?”

…

Celestia sighed.

“Baby, what did we talk about?”

Twilight blinked. “Um. Not breaking…character. Right. But!”

Celestia smiled indulgently.

“It’s just, you really sounded upset! And, ugh,” Twilight sat back. “I’m sorry. I just, I don’t really get all…” she gestured to herself and the ornate lingerie she wore. It was a black, leathery bra under a similar shrug, a scandalously short skirt and bottom of the same material with a matching corset, and a set of thigh-high boots that took as long to put on and tie up by themselves as the entire rest of the outfit. Then there was the hat. It was some kind of flat-topped, wide-brimmed, vaguely military thing she didn’t even know the name of. And the whole ensemble was highlighted with silvery, spiky studs in all the places you wouldn’t normally want spiky things. It made Twilight confused even looking at the costume. All the more, being asked to wear it.

“This. And…”

Her wave of the crop expanded to take in the scene before her. The Princess, specifically. Celestia wore a thin, gauzy bit of white cloth, bound loosely by golden rings into what might be considered a top that barely managed to cover her breasts, and little more than a loincloth below that. Twilight could see through it even in the dim candlelight of the bedroom. And that was all fine. Great even. Twilight loved that little get-up. The problem was that Celestia was also, quite willingly, tied to the banisters of the bed by the same cloth. “I mean, ok, I get that being seduced by a villain could be hot, but I just, I dunno, I always thought of you as so strong, and it just feels weird to, I dunno…”

“Honey, it’s ok. I know this is new for you. Hey, come here.” Celestia reached for her lover, getting caught on her bonds. She smirked at herself, then magically unknotted one and-

The huge double-door to Celestia’s chambers was blasted unceremoniously open. Luna strutted through, reading a stack of documents, already talking.

“Sister! We require your commentary on these latest…”

The Royal Voice tapered off as Luna took in the scene before her.

Then she burst into unabashed laughter.

“LUNA GET OUT WERE YOU RAISED IN A BARN LEARN TO KNOCK!!!”

It was unclear which of the lovers said what exactly, but it didn’t much matter in the end. They were both drowned out by Luna’s raucous cackling.

“And miss this display? Never!” But she had already turned and begun walking away. “What a wonder it is,” she said on the way out, “to see the student become the Mistress!”

The room echoed with the Moon Princess’s laughter for long moments after she’d left.

Celestia stared at the open doors, positively livid with mortification. Twilight gripped both doors in her magic and threw them shut, locking and barring the things, and then sliding an armoire in front of them for good measure.

Celestia thumped her head against her pillow and groaned in frustration. The mood was certainly dead now, if it hadn’t been already.

Denouement

In the end, everyone came out ahead from the debacle.

It took days to get Celestia out from under her own blankets and back into the world again. Her worries that everyone was going to hate her forever and never respect her again now that they knew what a terrible pervert and deviant and evil, evil woman she really was proved entirely unfounded. Equestrians were a forgiving folk. They largely accepted the story about her other-wordly copy, and even those that didn’t were willing to pretend so as not to make her upset. The only real consequence of this odd little outburst was actually a sudden spike in her popularity. It turned out that the public found her quirks quite endearing, because, as one citizen famously stated, “The Princesses are just more fun when they’re a little weird!” Tyrant Sun became quite popular too, often featuring alongside Celestia in a certain kind of what might be politely called ‘speculative fiction.’ No one felt any great need to mention that last part to Celestia though. She’d clearly been through enough.

Twilight found herself the recipient of similar attention, though it was rather more welcome in her case. She had long been an avid reader of ‘speculative fiction,’ as it happened, and now she had more inspirational material than ever. She and Celestia carried on in their relationship, and things were a bit more open than before. It didn’t make the now unavoidable talk on the subject with Twilight’s parents any less awkward, but it was a start.

Luna, too, found a way to profit off of the whole thing. She hadn’t actually had a harem in every city, as Celestia had thought, but, with the sudden realization among the people that Princesses both liked sex and wanted to have more of it, she for damn sure did now. It was glorious.

Even Tryant Sun won out. It took some convincing, but Twilight managed to keep Sun from being banished back to the recesses of Celestia’s psyche, as long as she swore not to try to take over the world any more. It was a condition she readily agreed too, as long as she was allowed the occasional ‘conquest’ of Fort Twilight. And maybe conquest by Twilight, every so often. Everyone involved agreed it was good compromise. It wasn’t cheating if you did it with your lover’s marginally evil alter-ego, after all. Especially if you knew a spell that her good side be there at the same time.

That little talk about mixing magic into the bedroom had filled Twilight’s head with ideas, you see. So many wonderful ideas…
