Chapter 1
Fluttershy looked around her home, wondering what else she has to do for the day. There were only 2 more things left that she had to do, first was to help the birds get more supplies for their nests, the next one scared the living the daylights out of her. To go out in the Everfree exploring with Rainbow Dash. To be honest, Fluttershy didn't know why she was doing it, but she already said that she would and couldn't back out now. Fluttershy went outside to collect the material for the birds' nests that the birds needed.
"Damn, that hurt like a mother" thought John Marston as he woke up stiff in all of his joints.
The trees around him looked as if they would swallow him up any minute. John simply chuckled at the thought. John felt his bounty hunter outfit chafe against his sides, he could also hear his whole arsenal jingle in it. John lay on the ground but was moving a little bit. John stood up and realized that he was much smaller than before. Then there was the question, how was he even alive? Well, John couldn't argue, so he didn't pursue it any further. Crack! John heard something behind him and looked. It was just a small rabbit. John had close to no food on him to his knowledge so he pulled out his revolver to see something wrong. Where were his fingers? John then thought, wait, and where is my arm? This was a dumb question, but he looked again to realize that he had a hoof like a horse, yet a lot bigger. John Marston, one for realistic thoughts, thought that this was a dream, and maybe Edgar let him live.
John was about to pinch himself but then realized that would be impossible, so he did the next best/worst thing; he pointed his revolver at his left fore hoof and shot.
Fluttershy just got done getting the supplies for her little birds when she heard the shot ring out. She was very close to her house and of course ran to it and locked herself in with fear of the monster that was in the Everfree. Fluttershy then curled up and started to cry with fear and the thought that her little forest friends would be without her care. She stayed like this for hours, waiting for the horrible monster to break down the door and gobble her up. Knock Knock Knock. This made Fluttershy let out a barely audible 'eep!' She simply stayed there waiting until the door opened to reveal Rainbow Dash with a bag over her back that was filled with supplies and a flashlight.
Rainbow Dash saw the way Fluttershy was cowering in fear. She let out a sigh of annoyance. "Fluttershy what are you scared of now?" Questioned Rainbow Dash
Fluttershy mumbled something unintelligible.
"What was that Fluttershy?"
this only made Fluttershy say something quieter than before.
Rainbow Dash knew she wasn't getting an answer so she quickly changed the subject “Ok, whatever. So, you still going on our hike?"
Fluttershy quickly shouts "no!"
Rainbow Dash quickly replies in a slightly whining voice, "c'mon it's like a free haunted house ride that’s, like, 10 times scarier!"
Fluttershy averts her eyes to the floor, obviously with no intention of saying anything.
Well, I guess this is real, thought John as he nursed the wound on his hoof. John has been shot plenty of times before, so this was really nothing new to him. He also learned long ago to not make any noise when shot. This skill frightened enemies, mostly the weaker ones, but hell it got them either away or got John clear shot at them while they stared at him. But now there was no enemy to frighten, it was only natural that John didn't make any noise. Blood had stopped pouring out long ago, but he was lying there with a small pool of blood that was around his hoof. He had enough trouble dealing with the fact that he was a horse, but now he had to deal with a bullet wound. John did have painkillers and bandages on him, but he wanted to save them for something more serious, like a shotgun wound if he were to somehow get one in this place. John felt something that he didn't feel much while riding around on a horse all day, shooting outlaws and police alike. Drowsiness. At this point John's eyes were half open and his vision was becoming darker and darker. There is no problem sleeping now right were John's thoughts before his head hit the ground with pure exhaustion.
Rainbow Dash was, at this point, pulling Fluttershy out of her house; Fluttershy was simply pulling the dead weight, which really just helped Dash more than Fluttershy, struggling to get out of her grasp. Dash knew something was up, but didn't ask until they were right on the edge of the Everfree Forest.
"Ok Fluttershy, what's wrong?" Rainbow Dash asked
Fluttershy knew there was no way out of this, so she finally said, "I heard a BANG out in the woods."
Dash looked at her, wondering if she was serious. She looked into her eyes and saw no deceit and broke down into laughter, "are you kidding me?"
Fluttershy then looked at her in a deadpan look and said, "I am going to get Applejack."
Rainbow looks at her quickly and asks, "Why do need her?"
"I would really like protection in there."
"Fine but I’m going in now" with that Rainbow Dash walked through the trees head held high.
Fluttershy sighed as she made her way to Sweet Apple Acres down the long winding trail.
Chapter 2
"C'mon Pa Rufus has something" Jack said
as John looked around and saw the familiar surroundings ,he was in Tall Trees with his only son and hunting dog Rufus who was right now like a train engine when it came to barking. The ground had a blanket of snow over it as if to keep the ground snug. Up ahead there were 3 elk, with nice antlers and good and fat. At this point Rufus was quiet waiting for his owners to shoot.
John looked at his son and made a gesture towards the elk motioning to shoot it. Jack got the message quickly and pulled out his repeater carbine. Jack looked down the sights and was aiming at the elk, which were just grazing on the flowers that weren't under the snow. John looked to his son and saw that he was having second thoughts.
“Damn it all just shoot the fucking thing” thought John
. They sat there for what seemed like hours which were really only minutes. John was quickly losing his patience because Jack kept putting the gun up and down shaking. Fuck this John thought as he pulled his revolver out and shot the three in seconds.
"C’mon Pa I was just about to do it" said Jack with anger evident in his voice.
John looked to his son "Well you were just sitting there shaken like a rattler so you were obviously not going to shoot one."
Jack looked at his father and spit on his shoe.
"Why did you do that?" said John with disapointment growing in him at how his son be so direspectful.
Jack just looked at his father with a blank expression.
John then said " You know what fine we'll talk about this later I got to clean some Elk"
Jack quickly took on the look of a child who was denied the right to play with his friends
"Can I help."
Fitting punishment thought John thought as he said " Yea sure once you kill one"
now Jack looked really pissed
" But you just killed the one I was going to get, if anything can I at least help"
and he just dug his own grave
"Well you could go in and pull the throat canal out"
That was one of the worst parts of cleaning an elk.
“Cool now how do I do that?" Jack said
"Well if don't know then you can't do it" John said with annoyance
"Awwwwww c'mon let me do it pa" Jack said
John could feel someone watching him but thought nothing of it
"Well son I guess you ca..."
John heard the bush to his left rustling but Jack couldn't notice it at all.
"Freeze" shouted the men with guns coming from thick foliage.
"What are you doing?" shouted Jack
, John knew the drill, holster the gun and get down on your knees. Jack was doing something else he was trying to run. John didn't bother helping him, he knew it was no use, but the thing that happened next was new they shot him. Jack fell down with a bullet through his chest. John then started hearing
a women yelling "Hey, hey you awake”
John’s surroundings started to disappear as the men with guns, his son and the trees and finally the ground.
"That was one fucked up dream" thought John
as he lay on the ground, eyes closed hearing a female voice ahead of him
"Are you going to get up or am I going to have to drag you" said the voice.
John felt his limbs denying him the right to stand, but he knew he was moving.
“Oh good your awake" "Yes I am" John said
then opened his eyes to see a blue mare with a rainbow mane and tail.
"And what the fuck are you"
at the mare who was now looking at him strangely,
” I'm a Pegasus, what did you do hit your head or something" the mare said
John was staring at her with utter disbelief
"Where I'm from there are just horses not any Pegasus to my knowledge." said John.
Now it was time for Rainbow Dash to look at him in disbelief "Where are you from anyway."
This was something John could easily tell her
“New Austin"
" Never heard of it" she said.
John was still trying to fathom why he was a horse but now he was in the presence of someone who’s never heard of it that must mean that he is not on Earth anymore.
“Hey do you mind standing up I find it weird that I'm talking to somepony on the ground." said Rainbow Dash
"Fine" john muttered as he struggled to get to his hooves.
Now that John was on his feet he could see that he was still in the clearing he was in when he passed out. He looked up to see what time it is but it was covered by the trees. John then looked to the pony and saw that she was looking at the hole on his hoof where blood had already dried.
"What are you looking at?" even though he knew the answer
"Why do you have a hole in your hoof?" she said
, “I believe that is none of your business" John said not wanting to embarrass himself.
"But doesn't that hurt" she said with a sympathetic look in her eyes,
to this John said "Not really I’ve token worse"
"Ok whatever but what is that thingy in your pocket" she said as she gestured towards the Scholfield revolver.
“That is my gun and if you keep questioning me you will get to see how it works" John threatened.
Dash was always loud mouthed if it came to a dare kept it up
"What’s your name, mines Rainbow Dash?" said Rainbow Dash
what kind of name is that thought John as he replied "John"
this was simply not enough for Rainbow Dash as she then asked "Is that it John c'mon don't you have a last name?"
John was starting to get more short-fused with her "Marston, now I suggest you quit while you’re ahead FRIEND."
“Oh so now we're friends well that’s just fine and dandy but I didn't think you were my friend!" as she said this
John unholstered the revolver and pointed at her hoof “This is your last chance, I'm not fooling around." he said with tired look in his eye.
Now Rainbow Dash responded in actions as she stepped forward in front of John's face and quickly grabbed his hat and flew away as fast as she could
. "Oh that does it" John says as he starts running in the direction that Rainbow Dash was flying.
Fluttershy easily got Applejack to come with her once she said it was an emergency, they were now almost back to Fluttershy's cottage when they saw Rainbow Dash flying quickly overhead.
"Hey ain't that Dash and wait why she has a hat." said Applejack
Overhead Dash saw the 2 walking and quickly did a nosedive down to the 2 as they stood there watching her.
When she landed next to them she snickered as she was trying to say “There’s this guy hehheh and he's running after me after I took his hat" she then broke down in another fit of laughter.
Applejack then looked to Fluttershy who was looking back wondering what the hay she was talking bout. They got the answer moments later when a tan stallion with a jacket ran out of the forest with something in his hands. Dash was still laughing so she didn't notice he but AJ and Fluttershy did and they both saw that he was running directly toward them seething in rage. AJ started to nudge Dash trying to get her to look but she was too busy laughing. Every second he was getting closer and Rainbow's laughter started to die down as she saw that they were both looking at something behind her.
At this point John was just inches behind the pony who took his hat. The other 2 he could care less about, he just wanted his hat back.
"Dash I think he's mad at you" Dash looked at her then turned around to see what was catching her friend's attention. She immediately saw the stallion she met in the woods, "heh heh I guess you got me" she looked at him to see he was still angry with her " Are you still mad over me taking your stupid hat" John then looked her right in the eye and he knew what the answer was. "Ok fine I’m sorry for taking your precious hat." he was still very mad at her.
“I told you not to test me but guess what you did, and I always make good on my promises" John growled as he took his hat off of her head and put it on his own.
Right now Rainbow was staring at him with curiosity
“let me show you how my gun works" he said as he took the revolver to her right fore hoof and shot.
Dash immediately fell to the ground shouting in pain. AJ and Fluttershy looked at him in shock as to what he did to their friend.
" What I told her not to test me" John said deviously as he holstered his revolver and put on a deadpan expression.
Prologue: Also this is an alternate ending to the game.
Damn, I should have known better than to trust that bastard, thought John Marston as he stood in front of the barn, ready to open them any second to welcome death's embrace. Cops were outside, every weapon in their arsenal at the ready to blow John to kingdom come. John knew he could get away if he just turned around, got a horse and went into any direction, but that wouldn't solve anything, in fact that would only make matters worse for him and his family. John looked at the doors and readied his Scholfield. John pushed open the doors and saw the small army waiting that was when time slowed down for John as he started to mark the 6 to be shot. John was looking for Edgar, but to no avail; he was not visible in this crowd.
When John came to this revelation, he simply threw the gun to the ground and took the bullets that came from everywhere on his body. But strangely, John couldn't feel anything, but he saw the bullets hit his chest and his feet. John had been shot plenty of times before and it did not feel anything like this. It usually felt like someone took a hammer and spike to that part of the body, but the bullets all hit him, hardly any missing. The only thing John felt was the impact when he fell to his knees, and then the pain came, at first it was just a throbbing from his chest then it became just a struggle to get any air into himself, like he was trying to get nails through his lungs and throat.
John could still see the crowd though and he could see a suited man making his way to the front, John instantly recognized him as Edgar Ross. "Well John, any last words?"
John put all his strength into 3 words; "go to hell."
Edgar simply took the pistol from the ground where John dropped it. Edgar started to inspect the weapon, finding nothing wrong with it; he pointed it at John's head and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened. To this John couldn't help but let out a loud chuckle that quickly sent a pain racking through, but for John it was worth it.
Edgar was obviously not pleased with this and talked to John in the usual snide way that always got John mad,
"well Mr. Marston, I cannot understand how you deal with this revolver, but I guess I can just do this," said Edgar as he slowly pulled out his colt and pointed it at John and said the last words John would hear from this bastard,
"It has been a pleasure working with you, Mr. Marston, but I'm afraid that it has to end."
With this John formed his hands into the shape and gave the asshole the bird. The sound of the bullet was heard miles away, where Jack and his mother were on a horse riding away.
