Chapter 1: Discussing Decepticons.
Author's Note
Star: Ok, so this chapter isn't great. I personally never like "pilot episodes" or "first chapters" though. I always feel like they're not the best since they have to set everything up. it gets better.
Ocean: I agree with that. But we Pinke promise it improves.
Chapter 1: Discussing Decepticons.
“Even after all this time I just can’t get used to the fact there isn’t going to be some con activity to go and stop,” Prowl muttered to Twilight.
“It’s just after all these years of fighting its finally over, and we owe it all to you, I suppose, we’d probably still be fighting without all you pony folk.” Jazz added cheerfully. Twilight blushed,
“Oh it was nothing.” she smiled “We really didn’t do that much, I'm just glad we never have to see Megatron and the other ‘cons again.” her sentence was cut short however when Optimus Prime entered the room. “Autobots, ponies! Were bringing the Decepticons to Equestria!” Twilight's face sunk “W-WHAT?! You can't bring Megatron here!”
“We're not.” Bumble Bee quipped we’re just bringing 2 soldiers, the medic and…”
“And who?” Twilight asked in a scared yet somehow deadpanned tone.
“Errrr... Screamers?” Bee said nervously.
“WHAT?! “ Twilight screamed, “WHY?!”
“Because you and your friends will be in charge of rehabilitating them,” Princess Celestia said peeking up from her perch on Optimus’s shoulder and flying over to Twilight. “ I don’t reckon that's gonna happen anytime soon.” Applejack said skeptically. “ Yeah, I mean they were absolute jerks and last time we saw them, they were spitting curses as we put them in jail! Rainbow Dash stated, mad at the very thought of seeing any ‘cons again.
“How could you even consider bringing those meanies here?” Fluttershy whimpered.”
“There such party poopers, that it’s not even funny,” Pinkie said glumly
“I agree with all of you, they were simply dreadful! All, of them absolutely dreadful!” Twilight nodded in agreement
“I don’t see why they should come here either. They would just destroy everything right when they arrive, it’s a death wish!” Twilight shouted out to Optimus in complete panic. There was no way she was allowing any Decepticons to come.
“Their weapons are disabled, ya’ll have a remote that you can use to control when their weapons are active and when not, they’ll also have EMP pulser installed that you will also be able to control via remote. It's not painful, but it can cause a panic and I don't want you ‘ta get all sadistic and use it to get revenge for anything any of ‘em did durin’ the war.” Jazz said seriously. Dash grumbled, having her idea get cut down before it started. “It's kinda hard to reform someone you haven't forgiven?” Fluttershy said in an uncharacteristically firm manner.
“Besides, why do they even get a second chance? After everything they did, all the crimes they’ve committed, all the lives they’ve ruined?!” Twilight said angrily.
“Hold on now Y'all, let's give ‘em the benefit of a doubt, Screamers and knockout are less than desirable, but maybe the other 2 won't be that bad.” Applejack said enthusiastically.
“They are Skywarp and Thundercracker.” Ratchet said from the med bay. “You mean we have to deal with the command trine?! No way! I AM NOT DOING THIS!” The cyan pony screamed angrily.
“You all have to do it! It's gonna take all of you to change them.” Bee stated.
“Why don't you do it? Surely you’ll be better choices, after all, you've known those dreadful ‘cons longer than us?” Rarity asked them hesitantly
“You're adapting them to live with ponies, therefor ponies are the better choices for adapting them” Prowl explains.
“Besides, you think we want to deal with them” Jazz muttered, then immediately regretted it when Twilight responded with glare
“You're not getting out of it no matter what you say. So you should just go off to the meeting point to get briefed.” Ratchet said, starting to get annoyed by all of the arguings that obviously going nowhere. Twilight sighed
“Alright, girls let's go and just try to make the best of this.” She said before starting to lead the way out to the usual meeting point, though as she walked she realized most of what she knew of the 4 ‘cons in question was from stories, and she hadn't really had too many up close and personal encounters with any of them. ‘I guess this will be a new experience’ she thought, that's a plus! And she led them all out the door.
Twilight lead the cons down the corridor, soon they would be outside, and it was clear the four cons were itching to be out of this prison, (actual prison) but Twilight was probably even more nervous than they were, ponies like Rainbow who were convinced they needed to pay for all they did would be begging for a chance to activate the EMP pulser and ponies like Fluttershy wouldn’t care they couldn’t shoot at her, she would still be too scared to keep them under control. It wouldn’t take much for Rarity or AJ to get convinced there was no hope for the four, that didn’t leave many ponies who Twilight could be sure wouldn't be unfair with this.
A few turns later they were outside, it was sunny, painfully sunny, barely a cloud in the sky, it was hot too. The air was thick and felt heavy in their lungs, today was not a day for yelling. As soon as they stepped outside the four mechs optics darkened, adjusting to the lighting in seconds while the pony’s all started squinting
“Ok! Let’s head off to Twilight’s castle so we can explain how this is gonna work” Rainbow said mustering up as much enthusiasm as she could bear to fake as she started flying towards the castle, Starscream and Thundercracker gave each other a look that said they thought she was faking and Knockout rolled his optics. “Well, it was worth a shot.” She muttered to Fluttershy who responded
“I thought you were pretty convincing.”
Fluttershy and Pinkie slowly fell back until they were next to Knockout
“Don’t you want to talk to your friends? You're free!” Fluttershy asked the red mech. Knockout rolled his optics
“Those flying brats? We’re not even sort of ‘friends’. And I'm not free. At least prison was entertaining. Megatron and Starscream we’re at each other's throats just as much as when they were on the ship. Blaming each other for losing the war. Except Megatron couldn’t kick his sorry aft(ass) when he said one word too much.” Knockout replied sarcastically
“Starscream got beat up?” Pinkie asked
“Yeah. A lot actually. That’s what happens when you’re a backstabbing traitor who’s more two-faced then a triple changer. I’m surprised you never heard about it. But regardless, I'm not friends with those 3.” Fluttershy frowned at what Knockout said.
‘I guess Decepticons don’t do friends’ she thought.
Once they got to the castle Twilight led them through the corridors that were just a few clicks to short. She led them down the halls until they came to a large room with 6 chairs surrounding a crystal table that seemed to double as a map of Equestria. On the ceiling, there was a large wooden chandelier with multi-colored crystal charms hanging from it. The ceiling in this particular room was higher than the others, if the chandelier wasn’t there they might have been able to stand up straight.
“Ok, you can all take a seat on the floor I suppose,” Twilight said into a megaphone. She was flying now, into the middle of the room where she hovered in the air near her friends. “Our main goal throughout this,” she sighed “5-year program,” she forced out “is to teach you to live in Equestria in peace with us pony folk so you don’t have to be in jail.” She could already see them snickering. “We will all be specializing in a specific thing. Fluttershy will teach kindness, Rarity generosity, Applejack honesty, Pinkie being nice, Rainbow dash loyalty” the seeker trine started snickering and Skywarp even laughed for a minute. “And I will be teaching you about things that you used to be able to do that you can’t anymore. Overall though we ALL will be teaching you about the magic of friendship”
Twilight smiled for 2 seconds before frowning as the 4 cons burst out laughing hysterically.
“That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!” Knockout laughed.
“It’s more than that it’s outright stupid!” Thundercracker chuckled.
“How could anyone take this stuff seriously!” Starscream managed to say in between laughs.
“AHEM! HEY!” Rainbow shouted hijacking Twilight’s megaphone “It really isn’t as dumb as you’re making it out to be! And it’s not as funny either! Now Twilight’s used her magic to expand 2 rooms so you can use them. You 3 can room together and Knockout can get the other. I trust you won’t go wandering since you can’t really fit in many rooms… now, why don’t you stop insulting our culture and go into the only 2 rooms in this building you're actually welcome it.” Rainbow finished and put the microphone down as Applejack led them to their rooms. They were all basic. One had a berth (bed) big enough for 3 mechs, the other had a berth big enough for one. Overall, this wasn’t going as bad as it could have so far.
Skywarp walked through the forest with Fluttershy.( according to Twilight today they each would be having a private lesson in whatever topic they needed the most work in) Knockout went with Pinkie to work on his sarcasm, Thundercracker with Rarity to work on his greed, Starscream with Rainbow to work on his loyalty issues, and Skywarp went with Fluttershy, who has hopes of improving his respect for organics.
Fluttershy looked up at Skywarp, “Okay, I think the best way to increase your respect for organics is to show you how beautiful nature and our world is. So, what are your main opinions on organics.”
“Weak, pathetic, they are fun to play with though, they're so weird and gross” Skywarp responded and laughed
“Umm, well, we’re going to try to change that, hopefully, once you see how beautiful nature is your respect will have improved.” Fluttershy led him deeper into the woods and started pointing out plants and animals.
“-And look! There’s a ringtail lemur! Ring-tailed lemurs are endangered animals. So if no pony does anything to help them, soon these cute little guys will be extinct. You know--” Fluttershy continued to talk about the lemurs as Skywarp wandered off going deeper and deeper into the woods until he was at the edge of it and you could see the beginning of the everfree forest just across the meadow. Just then Fluttershy came running up to him
“Wait! Where are you going?” Fluttershy asked, panting from running all the way through the woods.
“There,” Skywarp responded already halfway across the meadow and heading towards the Everfree Forest. Fluttershy gasped
“No! Wait! You can’t go there, we can’t go there! It’s dangerous. The Everfree Forest isn’t natural. And it's filled with dangerous creatures! Why don’t we just go back to the lemurs?” The yellow pegasus asked hopefully as she followed Skywarp. Skywarp laughed,
“I can handle anything this forest can throw at me, I'm a trained Ariel Elite” Skywarp stated proudly
“No! Please wait!” Fluttershy pleaded as she raced after him. Skywarp took a few more steps until he was standing in the forest. He grinned.
“Ha ha! Oh yeah, this is sooo scary.” He mocked, amused by the timid ponies words. Fluttershy frowned, she was feeling insulted and, mad?
‘But I'm never mad’ she thought as Skywarp continued to laugh and mock.
“Grrrr, alright! That's enough! I don’t care whether you can handle this forest or not! You have nothing to learn here, and I’m your superior and you are going to listen to me, you meanie!” Skywarp smiled
“ You were doing pretty good, till the sparkling (kiddie) names came out” he stated and walked deeper into the forest. Fluttershy face hoofed and followed him. The least she could do was keep an eye on him.

Meanwhile with Knockout and Pinkie

Pinkie was dashing around Sugarcube corner dressing the bakery up as a classroom. “Knockout!”
“Yeah?” Knockout deadpanned from outside the building.
“COME ON IN!” she bounces around the room.
“I can’t fit in the building.” the cherry red mech said to her, annoyed by her lack of common sense.
“Ohh yeah. I forgot about that….” Pinkie remembers. “I wonder if Twilight can actually find a spell to make you guys the same size as us.” she sits down and starts thinking. “I guess I can go talk to Twilight about this. It will make it easier for everyone. And it’s also safer. I feel like I'm going to be stepped on.” Knockout’s optics widened
“Don’t you dare shrink me down to your pathetic size, if you, I'll do worse than just step on you!” Knockout growled, feeling a little too much like Starscream or Thundercracker after those words. Pinkies mane and tail deflated slightly. “Why?” she gave Puppydog eyes to him.
“Because I'm perfectly happy with being normal-sized,” Knockout said. “I’m already kinda short anyway” muttered under his breath continuing.
“But it’s only temporary” she pouts. “Now I'm going to Twilight!” she zips off. Knockout panicked. if Pinkie asked and Twilight actually had a spell, Skywarp, Thundercracker and Starscream would blame him, and an angry seeker was already a threat to public safety, but 3? That’s a death wish. So quick as lightning, Knockout scooped Pinkie up and stood up to full height, a fall from this height would surely kill the pink earth pony, and she knew it.
“fine. But you guys are as mean as you are giant!” she pouted.
“Well isn’t that what you’re supposed to teaching me not to be? Some teacher you are.” Knockout mocked sarcastically.
Pinkie's face fell flat.
“Well, Knocky. You need to think about others concerns and needs! And stop acting like you know everything in a snotty and stuck up way.”
“I don’t know everything, but what I do know is that those idiotic seekers are going to drop me out of the sky if you ask Twilight to shrink us. And I'm not in the mood to get mauled by 3 angry seekers. Do you have any idea what seekers are like?! There ferral! They’ll ruin my finish! It will take forever to buff all the scratches out”
“Are you….Afraid of the others?” Pinkie sat in front of Knockout with a small devilish smirk. A bright blue blush spread across knockouts faceplates
“What!? N-no! But if you saw them when they're angry you would understand. Starscream is a completely unpredictable whack, Skywarp is an idiot who can teleport. And Thundercracker is generally vicious and not really into forgiveness.” Knockout said defensively.
“And what about you?” Pinkie put on nerd glasses.
“How should I know what they think of me, why don’t you ask them” Knockout growled getting annoyed.
“I mean, what are you like? are you a crazed maniac like the other Three?”
“Not usually. though I can get crazy, I'm not like them. I don't know about them sometimes. Skywarp is questionable in a lot of his actions, and I think Starscream is a masochist. And Thundercracker stays with them, that alone makes him seem like he’s glitching."
“Oh! you’re the odd one out!” Pinkie smiles.
“Where are you going with this?” Knockout says narrowing his optics (eyes) pinkie smiles.
“I’m not going anywhere silly, I'm staying right here.”

Meanwhile with Thundercracker and Rarity

“Alright darling, since you can’t fit in my house I guess I guess we can just do this outside, alright now let’s get started.” Rarity started before Sweetie Belle walked outside, with Applebloom and Scootaloo and ducked behind a bush.
“See! I told you!” Sweetie bell whispered proudly.
“Wow! A real-life Decepticon!” Scootaloo said as quietly as she could in a shocked voice.
“I don’t know girls, Decepticons are dangerous, and he might hurt us,” Applebloom said in a nervous tone.
“If he won’t hurt rarity he won’t hurt us. Besides, we can’t go yet, I want to talk to him, he’s not so scary, Rainbow Dash could kick his flank!” Scootaloo stated, her voice filled with determination.
“They may have lost the war, but they kept it going for a long time, there big, and mean, and have guns. And we’re just fillies!” Applebloom countered still not convinced this was a good idea.
“But Rarity’s here, and I'm sure they’ve set some fail safe to keep ponies safe. Besides, any Decepticon with half a brain wouldn’t hurt us and risk having to deal with Princess Celestia, Optimus or being sent back to jail.” Scootaloo reassured her as she crept closer.
Thundercracker ‘s optics flashed a duller red for a second he then walked away from Rarity and over the bush the CMC were hiding behind. He kneeled down next to it and his optics narrowed.
“never mind! I don’t want to meet him, he’s so much bigger up close!” Scootaloo whispered, already panicking. Thundercracker reached down to the bush and ripped it out of the ground, flicking it to the side in one quick movement. He then scooped up the 3 fillies, stood up again and walked over to Rarity.
“Are these your sparklings (kids)?” Thundercracker asked flatly
“There my little sister and her friends, who weren’t supposed to be here by the way." rarity said glaring slightly at the 3 before looking back to Thundercracker with a cold stare. "now could you please put them down...gently?” Rarity responded Thundercracker rolled his optics and lowered his hand to a height where if he dropped them they wouldn't die then roughly let go of them, probably causing a few bruises and cuts. The 3 of them hit the ground with a thud, groaning a saying
“ow”.
“I told you he was going to hurt us!” Applebloom said angrily, though, in too much pain to be proud.
“What was that!? I told to put them down gently!” Rarity seethed, running to her sister’s side to make sure she was ok. Thundercracker smirked.
“I did. They didn’t die did they?” he responded.
“That still wasn’t gentle! You hurt them! I think Applebloom sprained a hoof!” Rarity said to him, sounding mad.
“It’s not my fault you ponies are so squishy. I’m a Decepticon, I don’t have a lot of experience with being gentle.” Thundercracker told her matter-of-factly.
“Well you could have tried,” Rarity told him sternly
“I also don’t take kindly to being spied on. When you’ve bunked with Starscream, who’s always doing something traitorous or suspicious and Skywarp, who always has some stolen high grade on him, for millennia you tend to not take kindly to being watched secretly.” Thundercracker stated glaring at the group of fillies. Rarity growled.
“We have a lot of work to do.” the unicorn sighed.

Meanwhile With Rainbow dash and Starscream

“So, you’re a traitor,” Rainbow said flatly from her lounging cloud. Which was positioned next to Starscream who was using his boosters to sort of just hovering there looking bored. Rainbow’s eyes flashed to the raging flames coming out of the boosters. It was kinda odd, to have jetpacks on your hoofs. But apparently, it was a common cybertronian trait.
“Other mechs and femmes get in the way of things,” he said nonchalantly as if his lack of loyalty didn’t even matter.
Rainbow blinked then shook her head, she could already tell he was a lost cause, but she had a job to do. Besides, she was way to prideful to give up this easily.
“But you have a trine?” the rainbow-maned pony questioned.
“It’s complicated. I shot a Thundercracker and skywarp is a moron, the 2 put me in an electric cage once on Megatron's command...but it’s nice to have someone to fly with." Starscream said hesitantly
“Ok then so you have 2 mechs who your semi-loyal to. That’s a start.” the cyan pegasus murmured to herself more than Starscream “you know, everything is easier with help, and things usually turn out good when you have allies instead of enemies” rainbow said, it wasn’t a secret that almost everything Starscream did was going towards a goal of his in one way or another. One of the best ways to get through to him would probably be to convince him not stabbing every social outlet he had in the back would end up better than things did when he was betraying everyone.
“I doubt that things are so much easier when you don’t have to worry others.” Starscream insisted. Rainbow Dash frowned.
“Then how are you in a trine!” she exclaimed, feeling as if the conversation was going in circles.
“Err, well, I don’t get overcharged (drunk) anymore, bonding with mechs was always one of the less desirable seeker traditions, especially during a war. Thundercracker and skywarp are alright mechs, if I was going to bond with someone voluntarily, they would probably be who I would choose, but still, I would do things differently if I had the chance to go back. I would do a lot differently” he told her. Rainbow frowned again she didn’t like that, all this had done was further support her beliefs about him being a lost cause.
“...and you just don’t care how your decisions affect others?” she questioned
“No.” starscream said simply
“Have you ever heard of karma” rainbow asked with a mocking smile

(end day) back at the castle

“Ok! The ‘cons are in their rooms, now let's discuss what progress we’ve made!” Twilight said to a mud and leaf covered Fluttershy, defeated Rainbow Dash, frazzled Rarity, and perfectly fine Pinkie and Applejack. “Ok, pinkie you go first” the purple alicorn continued smiling and ignoring her friend's peculiar looks for the time being.
“Things went great with Knockout! Turns out he’s totally the odd one out and with a little work, he wouldn’t even be a little Decepticon-ish.” Pinkie said very cheerfully.
“Well glad you had fun, cause I sure didn’t! Starscream is a total lost cause! No way I'm going to waste 5 years of my life on attempting to fix him! I just can’t win with him, something is never just something with him!” rainbow complained
“Thundercracker wasn’t any better! He practically killed Sweetie Bell and her friends! And he wasn’t even sorry! Honestly, some ponies are so rude! … I mean some mechs.” Rarity scoffed.
“Skywarp was pretty bad too. He made me go on a hike through the everfree with him, he was fine in there, he even killed a few things until I made him stop. I on the other hoof almost got killed. Twice!”
“Well, so the first day was a little rough. Tomorrow will be better. I think we should also switch it up a bit. I think me and AJ should get a turn with them and you girls deserve a break from your assigned ‘cons. Instead, I think we’ll just take turns teaching the trine and knockout. Now you should all head home and get some sleep. We’re starting even earlier tomorrow” Twilight said in a concerned voice.

Star: ok, *exhale* another chapter done! once again you can credit the fabulous pinkie pie dialogue (among other things) to Ocean. I have chapter 5 and 6 written, they just need to be transferred from paper to here and edited, after that the chapters might take a while, considering that both me and Ocean will have to be willing to write it together, then it needs to be transferred and edited.
Ocean: I am sadly a slow writer who has to really be in the mood. But we are working on it. I HOPE YOU ALL LOVE THE STORY!! XDD
