Your Human and You: Adventures of the Griffon Girl
Another Explaination Needed.
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThis morning started out with a strange start. Medallion and Wench just stared at me as I wrote several extra notes on the paper that had been given to me to write.
Medallion read them all next to Wench and they just stared blankly at the paper that I kept pushing forwards and pulling back.
~Hey, if you need a moment to process you can just say.~
Nothing but silence...
~Hello? Guys??~
Still nothing...
~You're kinda freaking me out.~
A small snicker from Wench at Medallions face going pale and his ears laying so flat they weren't there.
~Like I have any right to be as freaked out as you, but still.~
Wench gave me a look of thanks for the concern.
~Seriously? The silent treatment?~
I looked from Wench to Medallion, and Wench out stretched her wing to drape over her husband. She had a look of amusement.
"It seems that he's not going to say it, but I will. You have some explaining to do." She looked at me with narrowed eyes and the look of a predator.
I gulped quietly and pulled out my other piece of paper as a bead of sweat came to the end of my eyebrow. She seemed satisfied by her method of interrogation. I pulled out the pen and breathed out desperately, writing with shaky hands.
"Where are you from?" Her voice was stoic, nonthreatening. I winced anyways, letting her see my submission. I wrote slowly and nervously, not wanting to anger the bird of prey before me.
~I am from Africa.~
"Africa... You mean girafferica?" I fell out f my chair in cackling laughter, tearing up slightly as I laughed. She cringed back as if I had just killed her daughter and pulled Medallion back protectively. I stood back up and wiped tears from my eyes and looked at her as I underlined the word Africa.
~You guys and your names for your countries...No I mean Africa. I guess this is some sort of different dimension, or world I'm in.~
I didn't notice her look until I was pushing the note towards her.
~... Do humans here... Do humans here seriously not smile or laugh? That's got to be horrible!~
She looked shocked as her beak clicked open and closed, and I looked at Medallion slightly horrified. He was even more disturbed, a look of pure shock and blank stare was over his muzzle.
"If you're so smart... Prove your intelligent. Prove it. How do I know this isn't Discord?!" She had a look of skepticism on her face as I glared at her.
~As I remember you saying yesterday, I'm a stupid human with no idea what's happening. The only thing I do is try and be mysterious and confuse everyone around me, and I'm practically useless to anything other than Slasher.~ I slid her the note, a tear pricking m eye as I looked at her. She looked at me with a shameful gape.
"I... Oh..." She realized what this meant. She knew. She understood. She knew in that moment that I was intelligent.
~It's fine bird brain. It still hurts, but I'll be fine. You shoul~~~~~~
She had wrapped her wing around me quicker than I thought a mighty bird of pray could have. I was slammed into a feathery blanket of regret and sorrow. She muttered an endless amount of apologies as I gave a chuckle. She kept this up for a good half hour until I tried to pry my body away. She let me go with a sniffle, and she held Medallion the same way, holding him close to her body.
"Who are you?" Her voice shook with sadness, and I looked at her with a face that mirrored hers.
~As I wrote earlier... I am Baladia. I am a human. A human from a place of intelligent humans. If I had my phone I could show you a video and pictures and... And..~ I wiped my tears and looked at the floor, but continued writing gently. ~ I could show you my family.~
"... Phony? Fone? Oh a fone!" She looked at me, sniffling. "I stored that with my artifacts! Should still be there. Maybe we can see it later." She looked at me more thoroughly. "You... You wouldn't... You wouldn't hurt anyone wou-"
I furiously wrote on the paper, grunting angrily and growling as I shoved it towards her.
~DO YOU REALLY THINK I'D TRY AND HURT SOMEONE LIKE YOU< RUE< OR MEDALLION?! MEDALLION IS A NOBLE CLIDESDALE< IF I EVEN POKED HIM OIIN THE WRONG PLACE HE COULD BREAK MY LEG. THEN THERES YOU! YOU THINK I'D TRY AND HURT YOU?? YOUR DAUGHTER OWNS ME LITERALLY. IF I HURT HER, I'D BE FRIDAYS SPECIAL IN THE BAR!~
She looked shocked, a look of offense came across her face. She fluffed her crest.
"Do you REALLY have to be so dramatic?!"
~Do YOU really have to ask a question THAT stupid?!~
She scoffed, and I copied her.
Silence...
Silence...
...
...
...
"You two need to just... Cool it."
Medallion startled me and Wench, making me scramble backwards onto the floor. He rolled his eyes and looked at me like I was crazy, and looked at Wench like she was insane for talking to me.
"She's an intelligent human from another planet or dimension. So... Why does that matter if she's here now?" It was now my turn to adopt a look of horror and shock. I stood up and underlined the word family in one of the previous notes.
"Are we not enough for you?" He sounded offended.
~I'm... I'm a pet to you!~
Medallion looked at me shocked, like I had just kicked him in the foreleg. He stamped his hoof and I backed up a step from the table.
"You are not just a pet anymore! You have clearly displayed intelligence, the dancing the drumming the WRITING... The CRYING." He looked at me like I was an idiot, and I just stared back agape. He lit his horn and I felt my body lifting off the ground and back into a seat. Wench was looking at the floor, shameful of something.
"The chittering... That was beak language. Who taught you?" He looked like he was concerned, and I looked at the floor.
~... Slasher.~
"And why didn't you tell us sooner?"
~Because it felt like the wrong time. Talon had been wanting to eat me for some time and if it gave him a reason to kill me, I didn't want to try.~
He nodded in understanding, looking at me with a look of slight contemplation.
"Alright... Alright. Lets... Lets just... Try and get through the day. Act normal until the end of the cruise! Um... Yeah sounds good right? You can do things other humans can't! Like... Well maybe not swim."
Oh boy are you in for a surprise Medallion. You sure are in for a surprise.
~But before anything... I need SLEEP.~
He nodded and motioned to the bed, and I groaned. He rolled his eyes, changed the blankets and everything on the bed, and I flopped down upon it, instantly dozing off as they snuck out the door to engage in more horrid activities.
The light may protect you. But it can't forever little balarina...
