Your Human and You: Adventures of the Griffon Girl
Tortured Flowers Finally Bloom
Previous ChapterNext ChapterWarning on the content here. It gets a little intense.
I was awestruck, gawking at the easy transition between the two languages as I sipped my tea in contemplation. One poke to the marking and I can hear Humans. Another to speak to the Gryphons with beak language and writing. My hand was getting sore from the pen so I had Rue translate. Apparently Rue was here with her parents. Although... She seemed thinner. She seemed scared over, little bruises under her coat barely visible under her fur. This brought a sense of concern over me, but when I asked her in her beak language, she just... Visibly drained. She looked scared. Wench seemed far fonder of the little filly than before, and I looked at her with a look of sadness. She still hadn’t trusted me. I’m only human after all.
I don’t want to think about it. I pressed my scar while Rue sat between Medallion and Wench, giggling at their loving embrace. I turned to Rue’s confirmed Guard Human. I had fallen ill recently after arriving in the mainland of the small country. My throat had began to burn as I spoke to him.
“You. Your name?” I looked at him, listening to the strange accent my voice seemed to take on. I was fascinated with the vibration of my vocal patterns after almost 3 months of silence other than groans.
“My name is Fylakas Agori. The little one is mine..” His head shook as he scratched at his collar. I chuckled, making Rue jump. She clicked to me.
=What the heck was that?! What if he tries to copy you?!=
I sipped my tea and prepared the revelation.
“You want me to tell them you’re intelligent?” He looked at me boggled at how casual I was about the subject.
“You can SPEAK to them?! How?!” His voice raised slightly in either excitement or intense desperation.
I set my tea cup down and looked at him with the intent of the stupidest answer in my mind.
“I’m bilingual.”
He burst out into laughter, making Wench jump and move her wing around the little filly while chirping in fear.
=I take it she didn’t like that?=
Rue shook her head with a mane fluffed in shock.
“Hold on Fylakas, I’ll explain in just a sec.” He looked confused as I poked the scar and listened in on their conversation.
“-romise me and Wench are doing everything we can to get you out of there. You’re going to be safe, just hold on a few more days. I promise sweetie.” Medallion nuzzled her as well as Wench, making me clap. They looked at me and I gave a gentle smile. Rue looked at me with a smile as she trotted over.
“She’s... Intelligent. She’s going to catch on sooner or later. This won’t be easy to tell her, no, but it will certainly help. She can’t understand me right now. Right? The scar thing? She explained it to you?” Wench and Medallion nodded and I tilted my head in confusion.
=Baladia? It’s me, Rue. I want to tell you something?= She clicked to me, and I reached down to pick her up. She didn’t object, and I buried my face into her soft fur.
=Yeah Rue? What’s up? What do you need?= She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. I could hear her speeded heart beat.
=My parents... They-=
She hesitated.
=They beat me. They barely allow me food. Medallion and Wench are going through the paperwork to adopt me without my parents knowledge, but they have enough evidence against my parents. My parents came with yours, and they’ve been making me stay in their second room. Dylan gets fed and... That’s the only time I have the opportunity to eat. He shares.=
=Sweetheart... I had no idea oh my god... Dylans name is actually Fylakas... He’s intelligent, like me, but he can’t understand ponies.=
My stomach churned slightly.
Fylakas chirped loudly and continuously tugged on my arm, pointing to an oozy black cloud that appeared from the cracks in the wood. I screeched and poked my scar rather hard, and looked at him shocked.
“What is that?!” The eyes slowly appeared from the mist, the yellow and red eyes.
“I... I think... I think it’s been following me from Gryphondor!!” A look of terror came across my face, and Fylakas picked Rue up. I would be facing this alone. My stomach churned.
A strange darkness surrounded me until I could no longer hear or see Medallion or Fylakas.
“You won’t escape me. Not again.” I backed away and a ring of fire appeared. I was stuck with this oozy monster. It circled me, quickly coming face to face with me. It smiled at my hidden hysteria.
“... What are you?!” I could barely keep my voice from crackling. I stared at it, a look of fear came into my eye as it turned into a Boa Constrictor and it began to coil me slowly. Squeezing the life from my body. Then it took the form of Medallion with red eyes. Then the monster I saw, one with mismatched limbs of all different kinds. And then... It took on Slasher. With her throat cut. It stayed in that form.
“Achlys. I am the personification of your deepest fears. I am every primitive thought you have. You have no escape anymore, little Ballerina.” Fear practically dripped from my body as I shook, sweat colder than snow dripping down my face and body.
“You... You d-don’t... You don’t scare... Me.” My bluff was easy to call. I found my reward for the lie to be punched in the stomach back and to the wall of flames, hitting my back against it and making my body limp. It oozed up to me, slowly absorbing my body, making me shiver at the weak coolness that spread through my leg. I froze up. It snapped over to the left, and I screamed, dragging my hands down my face as it was undone, and the oozing figure fled backwards laughing evilly. The fire began to burn, and I swore I felt every feeling of fear and primal fight or flight that was possible to feel. I threw up, and the vomit disappeared. I chose fight.
Weakly standing on the tortured leg, I roared and charged it. The monster chuckled and oozed behind me, taking my arm I had thrusted towards it, and then it snapped my elbow backwards. A shriek of pain was emitted from my body, and I looked up, falling to my knees as the slammed back into place with rubber band accuracy. I thrusted fists into the oozing darkness until I struck something. I struck something soft. I was weak. I could collect that I was under an operation light, and I was weakly struggling against a nurse. They were popping limbs back into place. Trying to funnel food into my mouth through a tube, and I wasn’t accepting it. I tried to chitter, but it was caged by something... Primal. It was dragged out my response, and all I could hear was my own chirping screams. I heard Rue’s voice.
“This can’t be happening... I’m so sorry!” I heard her apology, her voice and clung to it. I focused on her, and saw my own yellow pale tint. I was back. I would fight.
The oozing darkness was clawing, pulling me back into my primal mind. I clung to the thoughts of Rue and they could see me becoming more and more responsive. Re was able to push past the nurse and rush to my side. My head was beating and I could barely hear her anymore. She began whispering in my ear, a spell or incantation. Then the pulling stopped and I was better. I was conscious and aware. She cried in happiness that it had worked and I sat up, astonishing the nurses.
“How.... How did you cure that?! She had Girafferican Bullseye! That... She should be dead!” The nurse and the doctors were excitedly astonished. I had a feeling that this was something more, but I stayed silent and weak, emotionally drained from the horrific battle. Fylakas looked at me like I was ready to attack at any second.
=Rue... you saved me...=
She blushed.
=That automatically makes you family, Rue. You are always good to tell me anything.=
Welcome to the family Rue... Welcome to the family.
