Chapter 2: A Tear
All in all an outlandish looking pony for sure but the sense of relief felt in the dusty pony overwhelmed any worrying concern he had about his identity so far and that was when clarity struck him like a bolt of lightning from a storm cloud. He didn’t know who in the world he was, or how he even came to be. But that would have to wait, suddenly there was a howl not too far off in the distance and the pony didn’t reckon he liked the sound of it either as the dusty colt would pick up his clumsy pace by now walking had become somewhat easy even if he would stumble a little but that certainly didn’t feel like it was going to be enough, no, this was going to require him to move those legs faster as he could hear rustling in the bushes and eyes that seemed to follow him as before the frightened colt knew what he was doing he was panting and moving fast, faster than he ever knew he was possible of. The speed would have been exhilarating had it not been terrifying he dared a glance back with those button like eyes to see the shapes of creatures he knew not about or what they were and he was far too frightened to stop and figure it out one thing was for sure, they were very slowly gaining up to him as the howled and barked and snarled, these wood like canine creatures of terror. Things were not looking very well for our little colt so frightened and hunted it seemed like this could have been the end had the dusty Pegasus not spotted what lay ahead and used it out of the urge to survive. A briar patch, looked like it was spreading across that part of the forest like a wall and through was moonlight the colt bolted as fast as he could make his legs move nearly stumbling and falling flat on his face making that the end of it but no, the strange little pony had far too many thoughts and questions he wanted answered in his head now, he took the leap towards the briar patch wall. The Timberwolves would yelp and stop right before the wall as the pony jumped through that tiny opening though too bad it was big enough with a slight “ZRIP!” he found himself safely outside of the forest but looked to his left flank near his cutie mark….a tear…….and what looked to be fluff, not that the fluff bothered him he was more worried about the tear. The fluffy stuffing didn’t appear to be showing signs of leaving the tear as it was too small but left unchecked the colt could fine that the tear could possibly grow and then lead to an ultimately bigger problem. But where would he go? Who would he look for? Were the others like him? There would only be one way to find out, our brave little colt stood up upon his shaky hooves, more out of surprise and weariness from his narrow escape from the Timberwolves. The Pegasus would move on ever determined into tomorrow in which he hoped that things would hopefully get better. Trot on little colt, go seek your tomorrow.
