The Royal Division of Investigations has but one purpose: To save lives. They can be found investigating high priority or suspicious cases, for example, sabotaging of a new, highly classified military technology.

The agents of the Canterlot division are tasked with investigating a series of suspicious accidents involving the Wonderbolts Earth Pony Training Program, a program designed to teach earth ponies how to fly airplanes. As the case grows deeper and accidents turn to murder, the agents are forced to confront prejudice and anger bred through generations of ponies. And that's just the beginning of her problems.

Special Agent Bon Bon is finding herself struggling to keep her emotions from interfering with her work. Special Agent Braeburn is certain that his bosses are hiding something from him, and Special Agents Cover Story and Wire Tap find themselves in the middle of a heated battle between pegasi who think they own the sky and ponies who wish to conquer it. And it doesn't help that they have a certain Wonderbolt Lieutenant following them around.
