Topaz was just a regular pony living in prewar Equestria. His life is just as he could have wanted it, being a prewar colt. Then one day, he is forced from his comfortable life and into a Stable-tec Stable as the bombs detonated, destroying the country with waves of boiling radiation and green flame. Then his parents are killed when raiders assault the Stable as he is put into cryostasis. He awakens and finds a couple that takes him into their family. However, some years later, he returns to his homestead to find his parents horribly sick from some mysterious illness. Topaz sets out to find a cure for his family before meeting a mare who changes his perspective on what must be done. Together the two begin to rebuild the wasteland by destroying any raiders that threaten the survivors. However, when Topaz is contacted by a messenger from a shadowy organization, he must choose between being reunited with old family and forsaking the family he's made in the wastes or destroying this new threat to the survivors he's sacrificed so much for.
