Scootaloo's parents, Soarin and Rainbow Dash, were told their little foal, Scootaloo, would never fly. She was born with the bones suitable to that of an earth pony and it weighs her down.

Scootaloo grows up being relentlessly teased and bullied by other ponies. She only feels comfortable around her parents and her best friends, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle. But once Scootaloo meets a stallion named Rumble, everything changes. Maybe Scootaloo will fly after all.
