Prologue: The Mirror of the Unknown
Long ago, there lived a unicorn that owned a beautiful mirror, made by her own two hoofs and magic. Ponies all over Equestria gathered around to see the mirror’s true potential and it had the power to see a pony’s future, weather good or bad. Everypony was filled with joy and the unicorn soon received praise and fame from every pony in Equestria. Until one day, her sister became jealous of her receiving fame and one night, she placed a spell on it, making the mirror a portal that leads into another unknown universe. When the unicorn showed her own friends the mirror, they were instantly sucked into the mirror portal, never to be seen again. The unicorn was devastated and her sister said, “If any pony should approach this mirror, they will be instantly brought to another world, not known by ponies.”
The unicorn, who created the beautiful mirror, decided to fight her evil and jealous sister and after she won the fight, she banished her into the mirror itself, unknown on which universe she landed in. The unicorn soon vanished as well as the mirror until it was founded by the princesses of Equestria and it was called The Mirror of the Unknown, since any pony who enters it, will be sent to an unknown universe. One day, Princess Celestia decided to let Princess Twilight and her friends into the portal but they never knew what really lies beyond the mirror until they find out on that certain day.
Princess Celestia’s mane waved in silence as she patiently waited for the Princess of Friendship and the rest of her friends to be summoned here in the throne room and beside her was her sister, Princess Luna, also waiting for the Mane 6 to arrive. They soon heard the large doors open and they soon saw the Mane 6, galloping through the throne room.
“You wanted to see us, Celestia?”, Twilight asked as they all soon stopped in front of the princesses.
“Yes. Has the Cutie Map sent you here?”, Twilight nodded.
“Yes and it’s quite strange that we’re sent here. There’s no friendship problem here unless…”
“Well, the map did sent you here for a reason and it isn’t for any friendship problem, Twilight.”
“I see. I guess it sent us because you have a mission for us?”, Celestia nodded, flapped her wings, and flew down until she landed on the ground.
“It’s a yes and a no. It’s just that Luna was being rather curious yesterday and I was wondering if you and your friends are prepared for the journey ahead of you.”, Twilight nodded and her friends had bags on their flanks, filled with various stuff to help them in their journey.
“Yep, we’re all prepared, Princess Celestia.”
“Oh, and what about Spike and Starlight Glimmer?”
“Oh that, I told them that if in a week we don’t come back, the Cutie Map might probably sent them here, just in case.”, they soon began to walk out of the throne room as they pass the glass art that was displayed in the throne room.
“Well, at least you and your friends are all prepared. That is, if you keep this simple phrase in mind, Twilight.”
“Oh? And what would that be Celestia?”, they both soon stopped as the others continued on.
“You promise that whatever choice you make in that certain universe, will cost you dearly afterwards.”, Twilight kept that phrase in mind and she knew that Celestia was being serious about choices being made in another, unknown universe.
“I promise.”
“Good.”, they quickly followed the others as they went downstairs and stopped in front of an enclosed mirror, protected by a thick glass box around it. Celestia hovered over the box and lifted it with her magic before setting it aside slowly.
She soon flew and landed near Twilight and her friends as they wowed in amazement of the design of the mirror itself. The mirror shined as the light hit the mirror, and the design was completely gorgeous, filled with designs of various ponies and swirls. It was almost like the portal that lead into the human version of Equestria except that the color of it was a magenta and greenish hue to it and it had a little ramp that would lead to the mirror itself.
“Wow, that mirror sure looks gorgeous.”, Rarity complemented the mirror and Luna quickly flew down the stairs in worry.
“Sister, I’m worried that my curiosity might lead them into somewhere dangerous and possibly to the unknown. It’s best if we call off this mission.”, she landed near her sister and she worried for the safety of others but Celestia was always the positive princess that wanted to give some confidence for Twilight and her friends.
“Don’t fret, sister. They’re prepared and all you have to do is just believe that they’ll make it somewhere safe.”
“Yeah, Princess Luna. Even though it’s called The Mirror of the Unknown, I’m sure that me and my friends will probably enjoy the new and unknown place we’re going to.”, Twilight smiled as well as her friends and Luna sighed, knowing that friendship might always be the answer to everything.
“Alright. Just make sure you stay safe. I wouldn’t want you getting killed or anything.”
“Nonsense! I’m sure there’s nothing dangerous behind the mirror, Luna.”, Celestia said in a peppy tone while Luna knew there was going to be something dangerous, whether intentional or not.
Twilight approached the mirror and gulped nervously.
“Well, wish me luck!”
“Good luck Twilight and stay safe.”, Luna said in a worried tone as the mirror reacted like if a rock had been thrown into a lake.
Suddenly, a magical aura encircled Twilight and her friends before the aura quickly threw all of them in at once. They soon began to scream as they went through time and space itself.
“Oh dear, this too much! Too much I tell you!”, Rarity yelled at the top of her lungs in a panicked fashion while the other tried to swim close to each other.
“Just hold on! We’ll get through this togeth-”, Applejack’s sentence was suddenly interrupted when she magically disappeared and the others gasp in shock.
“Applejack!”, Rainbow Dash cried out as she too magically disappeared and Twilight was starting to panic.
“Girls!”
“Twilight!”, they all cried out as they all magically disappeared and Twilight soon let out a scream as she felt like if she was being sucked into a black hole and her body then fell face flat on an iron ground, making her a little unconscious after the sudden transportation.
She groaned as the world around her was blooming with life and color and she felt a little nauseous after teleportation.
“Where-Where am I?”, she scratched her head with her left hoof as her consciousness began to regenerate and shook her head to get rid of the dizziness.
She soon saw her surroundings as her vision was brought back to life, she was on a balcony of some sort and out in the distance were a few buildings that seemed ideal for a city. It seemed to be nighttime if it weren't for the city lights and down below her was the cold pavement. The air smelled like gasoline but Twilight couldn’t figure out what the smell really was since she had never smelled gasoline before and she heard the sound of cars from faraway, meaning that she is in another world that is not like their own. She nervously looked around to see if her friends were with her but they weren’t. She worried that they were either in another universe or in same place that Twilight was in.
“G-Girls? Applejack? Pinkie Pie?”, she was all alone and she didn’t want to this somewhat journey alone, she needed her friends with her and without them, there was no way she could travel in this world alone, heck, even blend in to whatever society this world has.
I can’t do this alone...This-This is all of my fault. I should’ve never found that mirror then none of this should’ve happened. I just hope they’re alright.
Twilight hoped that her most dearest friends are in the same world as her and she hoped that wherever they are, that they are at a safe place. But, Twilight didn’t knew who had ruled over this planet between five million and seven million years ago.
“Hello?”, a young man’s voice was heard by Twilight and she was suddenly startled by the voice, which she gave out a small shrek before she turned around and faced whoever startled her.
She soon saw a being that stood on two legs, wore scientist or doctor clothes, and had no fur on its skin, but only minimal. It was a man that wore glasses, had brown, sharp hair, and had a surprised look on his face. Twilight gulped as she shuddered, her ears turned back and her whole body flinched while they both stood and stared at each other. Soon, the man gave a worried look with a patient smile, “Aw, i-it’s alright. I-I’m not gonna hurt you.”, the man stammered nervously as he reached out his hand to Twilight.
Twilight, looking at the hand the being in front of her had gave out, slowly reached her hoof out until the man softly grabbed her hoof and kneeled down to face Twilight. “So, what’s your name?”, the being asked and Twilight nervously replied, “M-My name is...Twilight...Twilight Sparkle.”
“Twilight. That’s a nice name.”, the man smiled and Twilight gave out a little smile afterwards. The man soon stood up while Twilight looked up at him, adjusting his glasses after he stood up. “Wanna come inside, Twilight?”, the man asked and Twilight, deciding to trust the being in front of her, smiled and nodded.
They both went inside and the man closed the glass door that was behind them. Twilight soon saw a sofa and quickly jumped on the soft, cushiony pillows of the sofa. The being soon sat down on the sofa and looked at Twilight with curious eyes, “So Twilight, where did you come from?”
“Oh, well, I came from Equestria.”
“Equestria...Isn’t it supposed to be a horse term?”, the man looked at Twilight after he rubbed his chin with his index finger and thumb.
“Ehh, yeah. Plus you didn’t even told me your name?”, the being soon had a surprised face before he actually said his name.
“Oh, it’s Shinra. Shinra Kishitani.”
“Shinra? U-Uhm...What type of species are you?”, Twilight asked the being.
“Well, we’re humans. And what type of species are you?”, Twilight was surprised. Humans. She thought that humans were supposed to be like their pony counterparts or maybe, that wouldn’t be the case since Twilight didn’t turn into a human and she was still in her pony form. “Well, we have different types, but mostly we’re ponies. For example, I’m an alicorn, a type of pony that only gets it when they are in the royal line of princesses or princes.”, Twilight explained and Shinra understood what she had meant by that.
“I see. Are you alone or do have some other friends?”
“I do have friends and they just like me except different and…”, Twilight soon remembered that she brought her friends with her and that they were probably in the same universe as her.
“Oh no…”
“Oh no, what?”, Shinra asked as Twilight’s face grew a worried expression.
“M-My friends, they must be in this place or where ever they are at. I hope they’re in the same universe as me.”, Twilight’s ears arched down and Shinra was positive that they were in the same universe as Twilight.
“I’m sure your friends are here, plus the place you’re in is Ikebukuro.”, Shinra noted in a positive way.
“Ikebukuro? Well, I hope so.”, Twilight anticipated that her friends were ok and in a safe place.
[Shinra, who are you-], Twilight soon noticed a feminine figure with no head and black smoke coming out from the neck, while her suit was pitch black, it also held a PDA of some sort with a message on it. Shirna looked and saw the feminine figure, and he can tell that she was surprised.
“Oh, hey Celty. This is Twilight, a alicorn that came from Equestria.”, Shinra introduced Celty to Twilight as she was a little frightened and curious on why Celty didn’t had a head on.
“Uhh, Shinra? Why doesn’t Celty have a head?”, Twilight tilted her head in confusion as one of her ears twitched.
“Oh, well, it’s because Celty’s looking for her head, which she isn’t a human, she’s a dullahan.”
“Oh, I see.”, Twilight looked back at Celty, now comfortable with the dullahan that was presented to her.
[So...Shinra, where did you find her?], Celty typed out a message on her PDA and presented it to Shinra and Twilight.
“I found her right outside, on the balcony.”
[You’re not going to dissect her aren’t you?], Celty typed down another message and she was a little serious about that topic.
“What!? No, I’m not into animals and stuff...I only dissect certain people… and maybe a few animals.”, Twilight ignored that topic, she knew that Shinra wasn’t going to dissect her. Shinra soon paid his attention to Twilight, “We’ll anyways give you a place to stay for the night. So, until then, it’s best if you get some rest.”
Twilight nodded, as it was best to rest until the sun shows up, “Thanks Shinra. I appreciate it.”, Twilight thanked the underground doctor.
“You’re welcome, Twilight.”, Shinra replied as he stood up from the sofa while Twilight simply got off the sofa.
Celty typed down her message on her PDA quickly, [Want to rest in my room?]
“Oh, thanks Celty.”, Twilight appreciated the offer and both Celty and Twilight went to her room. Celty closed the door behind them and Twilight got on Celty’s bed while Celty sat beside the alicorn.
“Thanks for giving me a place to stay, Celty.”
[No problem.], Celty showed a short message to Twilight and Twilight soon got comfortable and went to sleep, while Twilight prayed that her friends were safe and sound.

Fluttershy moaned as she felt something soft touching her and when she woke up, she saw a bunch of cats, rubbing their bodies against her’s. She soon stood half of her body up and some of the cats jumped back. She noticed she in the middle of a park and that these cats must’ve been abandoned by their owners. “Oh dear, you poor little kittens have been so alone and abandoned by your own owners…”, Fluttershy said in worry and care as the cats meowed and purred.
“...Aww, you guys are so adorable...I almost feel like I want to take you guys to my home in Equestria...If we are in Equestria…”, Fluttershy thought that she was back at Equestria or so she thought.
Fluttershy faced to where the cats were and they started to purr as they rubbed their soft, furry bodies against Fluttershy’s right hoof. Although, she didn’t noticed a person creeping up behind her, probably because she didn’t hear any footsteps. “Hey…?”, a man’s voice made Fluttershy’s wing go up and since it was out of nowhere, she was startled. She soon flew away, giving out an ‘eek’ as she did, and soon hid herself behind a sign in fear.
“P-P-Please, d-d-don’t hurt me!”, Fluttershy stammered in fear while the man had a surprised expression on his face.
“A-Ah, I won’t hurt you…It’s just...that…”,he sighed after his stammering, “...I promise I won’t hurt you, just come on out.”
Fluttershy showed a little bit of her face to the stranger and slowly faced the stranger. She gulped, hesitated for a moment, and slowly walked towards the stranger. As soon as she got close, she reached out her hoof and placed it on the stranger’s hand. She soon looked up and fully saw the man’s face, with wide, surprised eyes under a pair of blue sunglasses. The man had sharp, blond hair that wore a bartender clothing and had hazel eyes under his blue sunglasses. Fluttershy blushed a little, also surprised. The man quickly identified her as a pony of somesort, “Are you supposed to be-?”
“Oh...Well, I’m actually a pegasus, although I’m a pony, I’m just a pegasus…”, Fluttershy quickly answered and the man nodded a little.
“A pegasus...Well, where did you come from?”, the man stood up and Fluttershy placed her hoof onto the pavement, while asking Fluttershy where did she came from.
“Well, I came from Equestria... Where am I anyways?”, Fluttershy tilted her head in confusion.
“You’re in Ikebukuro.”, he answered.
“Ike-Ikebukuro?”, the man nodded.
“Yeah...Anyways, how can a pegasus talk?”
“Well, we just...do. It’s a long story…”, Fluttershy scratched her head with her hoof and the man understood that.
“Are you lost?”, the man crouched down to face Fluttershy and she nodded, but she also realized that if Fluttershy was here, then maybe her friends were here as well? Fluttershy soon had a worried and surprised look on her face, “Oh dear... My-My friends…”, she was soon off the ground as her wings stretched out and flapped, “They must be here, I just know it.”
“Well…”, the man stood up and looked at Fluttershy, “...We can go to Shinra’s apartment tomorrow.”
“Sh-Shinra? What’s your name?”, Fluttershy asked.
“It’s Shizuo...Shizuo Heiwajima.”, Shizuo said in a calm voice, making Fluttershy reassure herself.
“O-Oh, that’s a nice name…”, her voice lowered a bit in a reserved way and Shizuo accepted the compliment, “...I guess you’re letting me have a place to stay, right?”, Fluttershy said as she was still off the ground, wing flapping.
“Yeah, then tomorrow we’ll go to Shinra’s apartment to see if any of your friends are there.”, Shizuo started to walk away and Fluttershy was certain that one of her friends had to be in Shinra’s apartment, they had to be. Fluttershy decided to have a place to stay with Shizuo and hoped that one of her friends, any of her friends, were waiting for to come to them.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash both groaned and opened their eyes to see people walking by without notice. Applejack stood her body up with both of her hoofs while Rainbow Dash got off the ground and began to flap her wings. Applejack moaned, “Where in Celestia are we?”
“Beats me.”, Rainbow Dash sighed as they both noticed people walking by. They were both in a alleyway and two sides had human’s walking by. Rainbow Dash and Applejack looked around for a bit until Rainbow Dash decided to check out the other side where not that much people walked by. “RD? RD!”, Applejack noticed Rainbow Dash flying away and into the section on where not much people walked on.
It was too fast, since Rainbow Dash didn’t notice that she suddenly collided with a young human and they both fell to the ground. “Whoa!”, a young human said in surprised as Rainbow Dash and the other young human were both on the ground.
“Gosh dangit, RD!”, Applejack said as he trotted his way to where the collision had occured, in a serious and annoyed mood and stopped when she approached Rainbow Dash to pick her up.
“A pony? What’s a pony doing in Ikebukuro all of a sudden?”, a blond teen with a white jacket said in confusion while he helped his black-haired teen up.
“Well, you tell me…”, Applejack said as she didn’t trust the two teens that were in front of them.
“It’s alright, AJ. They didn’t mean it or anything.”, Rainbow Dash placed her right hoof on Applejack’s left shoulder to comfort her a bit. The black-haired teen opened his and was about to apologize but soon noticed that they were ponies and not humans. “U-Uhm...Should I be apologizing to you guys?”
“Nah, it alright. I’ve handled a collision before. Anyways, the name’s Rainbow Dash and this is Applejack.”, Rainbow pointed at Applejack with her hoof.
“Wow, a pony and a pegasus that can talk. Is this your luckiest day or what?”, the blond said in a delighted way.
“I don’t know, Masaomi. I guess it is.”, the black-haired teen said as he took the pony and pegasus as a another lucky thing to see.
“So, you’re Masaomi…”, Applejack pointed at Masaomi and he nodded, pointing at the black haired teen after pointing at Masaomi, “...And you are?”
“Oh! My name is Mikado Ryugamine!”, Mikado bowed his head down and raised it back up to face Rainbow Dash and Applejack. “Mikado...Welp, I get the feeling we're not in Equestria and if we aren’t, then we’ll need some place to stay at for the night.”, Applejack and Rainbow Dash stood up while Applejack tilted her hat up.
“Oh...Well, you two can always stay in my place.”, Mikado said as he decided to give them a place to stay.
“That’s awesome, at least we’ll have some where to stay at until we can go out and look for our friends.”
“Your friends?”
“Yeah...It’s a long story…”, Rainbow Dash smiled and scratched her head a bit with her left hoof.
“Alright, welp, I’ll see you tomorrow Mikado.”
“Oh, see ya Masaomi.”, they both waved goodbye and Masaomi walked away.
“So, he a friend of yours?”, Applejack asked the teen.
“Yeah, we go way back, he’s not very good with jokes but he’s still a great guy.”, Rainbow Dash was interested in jokes and pranks, pranks mostly, and now, she seemed to interested with Masaomi.
“I see. Anyways, wanna take us to your place?”
“Oh, sure.”, Mikado accepted Applejack’s question and they both went to Mikado’s house, hoping that in this city, one day, they will find their friends.

Pinkie Pie groaned and moaned as she got too dizzy after they all went into the portal. Her eyes were closed and she didn’t bother to get up nor wake herself up. She was too dizzy to get up or to open her eyes. Soon, a young woman saw a pink piece of hair near the van and when she got close enough to see it, she soon let out a gasp of surprise. “Oh my gosh, Walker! Look what I found!”, the woman showed Pinkie Pie’s body to the man that wore a blue jacket and had a black backpack, which it was Walker.
“Wow, Erika, where did you found it!?”, Walker approached the body and began to place his hand on her body, feeling the soft, pink fur that was on her.
“I don’t know but I suddenly found it. I think it’s a pony of some kind.”
“What are two rambling about?”, a man’s voice interrupted their rambling and approached Walker and Erika.
“Look Kyouhei! We found this pink pony in an alleyway...It seems to be passed out.”, Erika showed Pinkie to Kyouhei and he seemed to be confused that a pony suddenly appeared out of thin air.
“A pony? Aren’t ponys supposed to be at-”
“Hey Kyouhei, you ready?”, the driver of the van called out to Kyouhei and he looked at the driver.
“Oh, yeah, it’s just that Erika found a pony in a alleyway and-”
“We’re wondering if we can take it? Can we Saburo?”, Walker pleaded and Saburo knew they wanted to take it somewhere for her to rest.
“Sure. As long as it doesn’t dirty my van.”, Erika beamed happily.
“Yay! Come on Walker, let’s put her in the van.”, Walker nodded and they carefully put Pinkie on the first back seat while Kyouhei went and sat on the passenger seat, near the driver's seat.
“Hey Saburo, aren’t ponies supposed to live in America?”, Kyouhei said as he mentioned a far-away continent.
“Yeah, they are and I don’t think there's a pony that was extremely dyed pink.”
“You got that right.”, Kyouhei agreed with Saburo as it would probably take a long time to dye a pony pink. Suddenly, when Walker was about to go to the back of the van, he suddenly heard moans, which they were feminine. Walker soon opened the back door and soon found Rarity, awoken and somehow in their van. Walker stepped back in surprise and Rarity gave out an ‘eek’ before jumping back and sliding down to the back seat and onto the car floor. Both Kyouhei and Saburo looked back to see Rarity looking around in fear.
“Another one!?”, Saburo’s eyes widen with surprise as Rarity tried to wake up Pinkie.
“Pinkie, Pinkie! Get up!”, Pinkie opened her eyes a little as Rarity continued to rub Pinkie with her hoofs.
“Rarity? W-What are you doing here?”, Pinkie’s voice was low and whispery, while she looked at Rarity as her vision was starting to focus.
“We-We need to get out of here, quickly!”, Rarity demanded but suddenly the van door opened and both Walker and Erika appeared.
“Hey, we’re not gonna hurt ya.’”, Walker gave Rarity a smile and she stopped rubbing Pinkie, while Pinkie looked at the two humans.
“What’s your name?”, Erika asked the two ponies.
“Oh, well-well, my name is Rarity and this is Pinkie Pie. We-We’re not looking for any trouble.”, Rarity introduced herself and Pinkie but she didn’t wanted any trouble from Walker nor Erika.
“Don’t worry about it, we’re not going to hurt you. I’m Erika…”, Erika approached the van a little and introduced herself to the ponies. She soon pointed at Walker.
“This is Walker...”, Walker nodded and Erika soon pointed at Kyouhei.
“He’s Kyouhei…”, Kyouhei gave out a little smile to Rarity and Pinkie, while Erika pointed at Saburo.
“And the driver is Saburo.”, Saburo’s surprised expression faded away and he also gave out small smile. Rarity soon calmed down and gave out a sigh, “Well Pinkie, I guess we’re not in Equestria...Anyways, have you seen any of our friends?”, that topic soon appeared on Rarity’s mind.
“No...We haven’t seen any of your friends...hmm, for now, we’ll find a place for you guys to rest in.”, Erika replied while she and Walker went into the back of the van and closed the door. Rarity sighed in worry but since Pinkie was the optimistic one, she smiled and placed her hoof on Rarity’s right shoulder. “Don’t worry about Rarity. We’ll find our friends soon!”, Rarity smiled back, they knew that they would find their friends sooner or later.
The story of friendship and legends now begins with all new incidents, people, and action!
