Ponies trotted up and down the streets of Ponyville as the morning was a buzz with life as birds sang and squirrels and chipmunks chartered and argued to the rights over which nuts belonged to whom. Curious rabbits hopped between the flower stands only to be shooed away by the ponies that considered them little more then pests and young fillies and colts ran through the town laughing and playing excited to still have plenty of summer left to look forward to. This however as a delightful sight as it was, sadly was not what one ever perky pink pony was looking for. No Ms. Pinkamina Diane Pie the element of laughter and party pony extraordinaire, head confectionary craftsmare of Sugarcube Corner had little time to focus on enjoying the everyday sights and sounds of Ponyville as today she was expecting a letter; and not just any letter but a very special letter from her bestest best birdy/fishy friend Princess SkyStar! "Oh Muffins and Mangos where is that Mailmare!?" Pinkie nervously asked herself as she stuck her top half out of the Corner's backdoor. "Something the matter deary?" She heard Mrs. Cake ask. "You seem rather antsy this morning, even for you." The older bakery mare chuckled looking at Pinkie who's back right hoof seemed to be tapping at an ever increasing pace as she turned around to address Mrs. Cake. "Oh no, everything's fine." Pinkie reassured her employer. "I mean I guess I might be a teensy weensy bit anxious to get my weekly letter from Princess SkyStar." Pinkie admitted. "But that's only because in the last letter I got from her she said she might have some super awesome surprise good news for me and I told her in my letter back that sounded awesome and I couldn't wait to find out what it was and I was super excited and today I'm supposed to get my super awesome surprise letter which I guess isn't really a surprise cause I already know about it but Skystar told me to be excited anyway so I am super duper excited!!" Pinkie Pie finally finished as she took a moment to catch her breath after such a long and energetic response. Mrs. Cake just smiled and nodded her head. "I see" she chuckled still trying to process everything Pinkie had excitedly spewed out. "Well don't worry deary, I'm sure Derpy will be hear any minute." Mrs. Cake reassured Pinkie with a soft motherly smile. All of a sudden the two heard a loud thud on the bottom half of the backdoor. "Speak of the devils" Mrs. Cake chuckled once more recognizing the sound as the villages cross-eyed mailmare crashing into the door yet again. Pinkie Pie quickly opened the door right as Derpy was getting back on her feet. "Good morning Pinkie Pie!" The grey furred Pegasus greeted as she stretched out her wings and brushed her blond mane out of her eyes. "How are you this morning? Got any muffins?" She politely asked. "Mornin Derps!" Pinkie smiled back at the mailmare. "Yep, I've got your morning muffin right here!" The peppy pink pony smiled as she presented a plate with a freshly baked bran muffin, Derpy salivating as she slowly moved her hoof towards it only to have Pinkie pull it away at the last minute. "Hey!?" Derpy angrily huffed. "What'd yea do that for!?" Pinkie just mad a mischevious smile. "My letter first Ms. Hooves, then you can have your muffin." Pinkie faux-bribed the klutzy Pegasus. "Oh, yea-almost forgot about that." Derpy blushed as she plunged her left wing into one of the rather large saddlebags tied around her torso containing the town's mail for the day. After rummaging around for a minute she finally found the sea-weed green envelope with a red seal showing a picture of the Nuevo family royal crest. "Trade?" Derpy asked. "Trade" Pinkie happily agreed as she tossed the muffin to Derpy, the bubbly pegasus doing the same to her for the letter. "Yum!" Derpy proclaimed as she quickly devoured her treat, licking her lips as to make sure to get any and all crumbs. "Thanks Pinkie, have a great day!" Derpy exclaimed as she headed off to deliver the rest of the mail and if she had time maybe check-up on her dear friend The Doctor as well. Pinkie Pie set and watched the Pegasus fly off for a bit to make sure she didn't bump into anything big and once Derpy was out of sight she refocused her attention to the letter she had just received as a large happy smile spread across her face. "Well, are you going to open it?" Mrs Cake asked now quite curious as to what news it might contain herself. "You bet your sweet cupcakes I am!" Pinkie excitedly cheered as she moved to quickly open her latest cross-country correspondence before abruptly stopping right before her hoof ripped the seal. "What's the matter deary? Why'd you stop?" Ms. Cake asked a bit confused by Pinkie's sudden hesitation. "Wh-what if..." Pinkie paused. "What if what?" Mrs. Cake asked the paused pony. "What if the news isn't good news!?" Pinkie panicked. "What if SkyStar is writing to tell me she doesn't want to be Pen Pals anymore!? What if she doesn't want to be friends!? What if she got wooed by some sexy serpent into living a life of crime & debauchery at the high seas!" The erratic earth pony exclaimed. Mrs. Cake just rolled her eyes and slowly trotted towards her young friend. "I doubt it's anything as...extreme as that." Mrs. Cake replied as she softly patted Pinkie on the back in an attempt to calm her down. "Besides, didn't you say it was good news earlier?" Mrs. Cake reminded her. "Oh-yeah" Pinkie Pie blushed looking at her more relaxed co-confectionist. "Well here goes nothing!" She stated as she found her courage and slowly opened the seal and removed the letter inside looking at it and reading as fast as she could, her eyes practically glued to the page. "AAHHHHH!!" Pinkie Pie screamed. "What is it!?" Mrs. Cake asked in a panic. "YOU WERE RIGHT!" Pinkie happily cheered. "You were right Mrs. Cake it is good news! It's SkyStar! She's finally coming for a visit! She's finally coming to Ponyville!!" Pinkie Pie cheered as she jumped up and down and squeezed the dark blue earth pony with one of her pattented super tight, super happy hugs. "G-glad to hear it Pinkie, n-now would you mind putting me down deary, I-I need to breath" Mrs. Cake wheezed as Pinkie finished up her hug. The cotton candy maned mare did as she was told as she continued to hop up and down and out the back door. "Oh I can't wait to tell all my friends that SkyStar is coming to visit! They'll be so excited!!" She exclaimed as she continued her happy stride, Mrs. Cake just looking on and chuckling as she closed the door behind the peppy pink pony. Author's Note OK. Finally got this story off the ground. Yay! Since it's more or less a side story to LIAT though as opposed to the direct sequel I'll probably be a bit slower on updates, but Don't worry it'll still be A good one. And a proper LIAT sequel should be along sometime within the first quarter of 2018 so be on the lookout for that as well! As always thanks for reading and will try to go back and fix errors later on! "Hehehe, any minute now" she anticipated licking her lips. "HEY RAINBOW DASH WHAT YEA DOIN!?" A loud voice inquired as a startled Rainbow Dash fell out of her tree and saw the source of the disruption. "What the hay Pinkie Pie!?" Rainbow angrilly huffed. "Are you trying to give away my posistion!?" The Pegasus pouted. "Oh no i'm just....wait...position? What position?" Pinkie asked now distracted from her origional goal of sharing her good news by her curiosity as to what her dear friend Dashie was up to. "Today is the day i'm finally going to prank Discord!" Rainbow Dash proudly responded puffing out her chest and giving a confident grin. Pinkie just staring at Rainbow before breaking out laughing. "W-what's so funny!?" Rainbow Dash growled. "Oh Dashie you silly filly.." Pinkie Pie began. "Even I know you can't prank Discord" the cotton-candy maned Earth Pony continued as she steadily calmed down her laughter. "Besides haven't you already tried to prank him like 37 times before!?" She asked as she finished up. "Yea, well....you know what they say, the 38th time's a charm." She stubbornly replied her face blush red thinking of the emberassment of her past failures as time and time again the pesky Draconiques had gotten the better of her, and in front of Fluttershy no less. "I'm afraid you'll have to make it 39 my dear." A teasing voice sang from behind causing Dash to jump and turn around seeing Discord and Fluttershy right behind her. "W-wha-b-but how!?" Rainbow Dash asked dumbfounded. "Come now Rainbow, what kind of lord of chaos would I be if I wasn't able to sneak-up on ponies without them noticing." Discord chuckled looking down at the disgruntled cyan prankster, Fluttershy doing her best not to chuckle at Discord's teasing of her dear friend. "Ugg, Pinkie you ruined my chance!" Rainbow Dash huffed looking angrily back at the peppy pink pony. "Now Now Rainbow, you can't go blaming Ms. Pie for your failures." Discord continued to taunt. "Fluttershy and I were well aware of your little stake-out well before Pinkie suprised you out of that tree" The Draconiques devilishly smiled. "Yea, well...Just you wait, i'll get you eventually Discord!" Rainbow growled as she zoomed off. The others just watching as she headed back into town. "Oh Dizzy, I wish you wouldn't tease Rainbow like that, you know how prideful she can be, she hates losing at anything, even a prank." Fluttershy chuckled looking-up at her chaotic companion. "Apologies Dear Fluttershy, but come now, you know you love it when I tease" Discord cooed giving Fluttershy a wink, the yellow pegasus just blushing in return. "And you Ms. Pie I do believe you had something important you wanted to tell our dear friend Rainbow Dash!?" Discord chuckled looking down at Pinkie Pie. "Oh my gosh your right! Dashie wait I have something I need to tell you!!" Pinkie shouted as she too ran back towards the center of Ponyville. "What was that all about?' Fluttershy asked looking rather confused. "Worry not dear Fluttershy, it won't matter to us for a couple more chapters." Discord reassured her with a smile. "Rainbow Dash!?" Pinkie shouted as she ran through the town looking for her friend, nearbye ponies just staring as they watched the towns party planner running in a mad dash. "Rainbow Da-" she started again before feeling a hoof block her mouth. "What!?" The still disgruntled pegasus mare asked looking quite seriously at her peppy pink friend. "I have amazing news and I wanted to tell you first!" Pinkie Pie smiled as she jumped up and down in her usual happy manner. "You figured out a way to prank Discord?" Rainbow Dash sarcastically asked the hyper active horsette. "No, though that would be pretty amazing news too I guess." Pinkie agreed. "This is even better! Like super duper extra awesome rainboom better!" Pinkie Pie happilly exclaimed. Rainbow Dash just rolled her eyes. "OK Pinks, what is it" Dash asked only partially caring what the answer was. "Princess SkyStar is coming to Ponyville to spend the rest of the summer with me!!" Pinkie Pie excitedly emoted. "Wha-really, but I thought her mom grounded her for like a year!?" Rainbow Dash asked in surprise. "Yea, Queen Nuevo was pretty peeved Sky put herself in harms way like that I guess, but c'mon she helped us save Equestria, no way her mom was gonna keep her under house arrest forever." Pinkie chuckled in reply. "Yea, I guess." Dash agreed. "So when is she gonna be here?" the mare asked, now genuinly curious as the prospect of a hippogryph in Ponyville was an intriuging one as it would potentially give her a new flight training buddy. "She's gonna be here tonight!" Pinkie responded with a smile. "Oh wait, I have an amazing Idea! What if you come over to Sugarcube Corner and help me get things set-up for her arrival and then we can all celebrate with a "Welcome To Ponyville Princess SkyStar Party!!" Pinkie sang as she happily jumped around her friend. "OK, yea, I can work with that" Rainbow Dash agreed. "I'll see who we else we can get to help and see you back at the SCC in two shakes of a Lamb-Bear's tail! " Dash chuckled with a wink as she flew off, Pinkie smiling and waving before hoping back to sugarcube corner. Later that night Pinkie, Dash and a handful of their friends gathered around the large table Pinkie had put out as the eager Earthmare put on the finishing touches. "There, it's perfect!" Pinkie cheered as she looked at their work. "Yea, it looks pretty sweet" Rainbow Dash agreed. "But sorry I couldn't get more ponies to help out, seems everyone was busy today." Rainbow nervously chuckled looking at the rest of the group which only consisted of Spike, The Crusaders, The Cakes and Cranky Doodle who had gotten roped into the festivities by mistakingly thinking today would be a good day to leave his house. "Aww, it's OK Dashie, I know all our friends can't be free all the time, i'm just glad you and the others that were here were well...here!" The pink pony chuckled giving Dash one of her super-tight best friend hugs. "Haha, think nothing of it." Dash huffed recovering from her friends vicelike grip. "Always happy to help a friend" Rainbow boasted. But before Pinkie could reply the group heard the door to Sugarcube corner open and a rather tall tan Hippogryph barged in. "I'M HEERREE!!!" Princess SkyStar joyfully sang as she made her enterence, Pinkie turning her attention away from Rainbow and towards her new friend. "Sky!" Pinkie happily shouted as she quickly ran towards the Elegant Eagle-Pony. "Pinkie!" Skystar joyfully exclaimed as she stood up on her back-two legs and held her arms open for the tiny pink pony to jump into. The two finally meeting and joyfully embracing one another. As the two friends reunited the small group cheered, all accept Dash who noticed the particular kind of hug the two were sharing seemed a bit diffetent then Pinkie's usual hugs, this seemed softer, deeper. Rainbow couldn't place it, but something about seeing the display made her feel a bit....off. Author's Note Finally got another chapter out, yay! And oh no, Dashie starting to get jealous already!? After a year of waiting her bestest best friend from beyond Equestria had finally come for a visit and on top of that she was going to be Pinkie's room mate! A Summer long sleep over, what more could a pony ask for!? "Hehehehehe!!" Pinkie chuckled as she continued to bounce around a like a foal who had just eaten her first piece of candy. "We get if Pinkie Pie, you're excited" Rainbow Dash huffed as she rolled her eyes. Pinkie just stopped and let out a happy chuckle. "Sorry Dashie, I just can't help it" Pinkie Pie widely smiled. "My very bestest best Hippogriph/Seapony friend staying the summer is just soo awesome!" Pinkie Pie cheered as she quickly and tightly hugged Skystar, the hippogriph just giving the peppy pink pony a happy smile in return. "And on top of that I have my bestest pegasus pony friend to help make her feel at home." Pinkie continued as she ran over and hugged Rainbow Dash as well. "OK, OK, I get it you're happy" Rainbow wheezed as she pryed herself out of Pinkie's embrace. The peppy pink earth pony still smiling and chuckling. All of a sudden however Skystar spoke up. "Well, you know to be honest i've never been to a sleepover before." Skystar bashfully admitted. "And outside of Shelly and Sheldon i've never really had any room mates" She blushed. "So what exactly are we supposed to do at these kinds of things?" Skystar asked rather inquisitively. Pinkie Pie just let another wide smile as the happy energy in her grew even greater "Oh my gosh Sky, there's like so many things you can do at a slumber party!" Pinkie cheered. "We can play games like Candy Land or Hungry Hungry Hippos, we can go downstairs and bake cupcakes, or or we can play hide and seek or have a pillow fight or play truth or dare, or build a blanket fort, or or tell each other super scary stories!!!" Pinkie Pie excitedly explained. "Oh my, that does sound like quite a lot." Skystar chuckled looking over at her happy friend. "Or we could just you know, sleep" Rainbow Dash chimed in as she plopped down on top of her sleeping bag, her head resting on her pillow. "Oh, C'mon Dashie, it's not even that late yet!" Pinkie Pie pouted. "Maybe not, but i'm poopped so, yea, sleep time" Dash sternly stated. "OK, I understand" Pinkie Pouted. "I mean you were probably afraid that Skystar and me would beat you at Candy Land anyway." Pinkie Pie teased, knowing that this would activate her friends competitive streak. As Pinkie had predicted Rainbow Dash darted up. "Say that again." Rainbow Dash huffed. "Oh no Dashie, it's OK, I understand i'm super duper good at board games, I don't blame you for being afraid to play against Pinkamiana Candy Queen Pie!" Pinkie Pie mischievously chuckled. By now Rainbow had her serious face on and looked Pinkie straight in the face. "OK Pinkie, get your silly little game and get ready to have your flank whooped by Rainbow Danger Dash!" Rainbow boasted with a cocky smile, "hehehe, this sleepover stuff really is fun!" Skystar chuckled as she watched the two ponies stare each other down. After a couple of hours had passed and the three slumper party participants had played about half a dozen games, Pinkie beating both at Candyland but Dash beating all others out at Clue and Hungry Hungry Hippos, Sky Star being surprisingly good at Marenopoly and Uno ending in a tie, by the final game of Super Silly Trivia Time the group had become burnt out on board games. "You know Pinkie, these games have been fun and all, but I think i'm ready for a change of pace" Rainbow Dash admitted. "Yea, same" Skystar agreed. "Hmm, OK....I guess we can switch things up." Pinkie thought. "But how?" "What about that Truth or Dare game you talked about earlier?" Skystar asked. "That sounded fun." "Oh yea!" Pinkie Cheered. "Let's do that!" The peppy pink pony shouted. "OK, OK we'll play truth or dare, just calm down Pinkie, yea don't wanna wake-up the cake twins do yea!?" Rainbow Scolded. "Hehe, sorry" Pinkie Blushed. "I'll go get a bottle for the game and be right back!" She announced as she zipped out of the room, Skystar and Dash just looking at one another and chuckling at their friends seemingly never ending stores of energy. Shortly after pinkie returned and the three set in the middle of the room. "OK, so let me see if I understand this" Skystar began "We take turns spinning the bottle and whomever it lands on we ask them truth or dare and if we say truth they have to answer any question honestly and if we say dare they have to do whatever we dare them to?" Skystar curiously asked. "Yea, more or less" Dash affirmed. "But there are some rules of course" Pinkie said in as serious a tone as she could "You can't dare ponies to do something that could hurt them and while you can ask any truth you want most stay a way from super duper personal questions." Pinkie pie explained. "OK, got it, let's play!" Skystar cheered as she clapped her claws. "OK, Dashie, you go first!" Pinkie Smiled. "Sure, why not" Dash agreed as she spun the bottle with her hoof, it landing on Pinkie. "OK Pinks, Truth or Dare?" Rainbow Asked. "Oh, Oh Dare!" Pinkie Pie cheered. "Hehe, OK then" Rainbow Dash slyly chuckled. "I dare you to drink an entire bottle of soda in one gulp!" Rainbow Chuckled. "Haha, child's play!" Pinkie boasted as she grabbed a nearby soda bottle and chugged it down faster then Twilgiht eating a hayburger. "BURP!!" she loudly belched afterwords. "Nothing to it!" She smiled, happy of her accomplishment. "Bwahahaha, Pinkie, you are hilarious!" Skystar laughed as she rolled back and held her sides. "Hehe, thanks" Pinkie Pie blushed as she set back down. "OK, my turn!" she sang as she spun the bottle as hard as she could, it eventually slowing down in front of Skystar. "OK Sky, truth or dare?" Pinkie Pie asked with a smile. "Hmm....Since you did dare I guess i'll do...truth" Skystar chuckled wit ha reply. "OK then, Princess Skystar, who do you like better, Shelly or Sheldon?" Pinkie asked with a rather serious face. Skystar just paused. "Pinkie, how dare you make me pick between my two oldest friends!" She faux-gasped as she pretended to faint. "Oh I mean sure Shelly is a much better listener then Sheldon, but Sheldon is much more articulate and more fun to debate Seaquestrian politics with" Skystar rambled. "But at the end of the day...." Skystar paused. "I just love all of my friends!" She chuckled as she grabbed Pinkie and gave her a tight hug. "Bleh" Rainbow exclaimed, getting tired of all the over abundance of chuckling and lovey-dovey friendship mush. "OK, OK" Pinkie chuckled as this time it was her turn to wiggle out of another's embrace. "It's your turn now sky, go ahead and spin the bottle!" Pinkie Smiled. "Okie Dokie!" Skystar replied as she grabbed the bottle with her claws and began to spin. The bottle getting slower and slower until it stopped right in front of Rainbow Dash. "Ohhh" Skystar cooed. "So, Ms. Dash, truth or dare?" Skystar asked a playful look in her eyes. Rainbow Dash thought about it for a bit. "eh, what the hay, i'll go with truth" She responded to the other's surprise. "I mean a dare would be fun and all, but anything you could come up with would probably be way to easy for me, no offense" The cyan mare boasted. "Fair enough" Skystar replied. "OK then, Rainbow Dash, I gotta ask, Pinkie tells me a whole lot about you and the others in her letters, but she never really tells me much of anything too juicy-so i'm kinda curious. Do you have a special somepony, or is there any pony you have a crush on!?" Skystar inquired an eager smile on her face. Rainbow Dash however just froze. For somepony like her a question like this was one of the worst you could ask. Sure some ponies liked to gossip and talk about the colts n fillies they had crushes on, but Rainbow Dash always hated stuff like that, ecspecially when she did such a good job of constantly denying she ever felt any form of romantic feelings for anypony. Her fellow wonderbolts, just admiration, Quibble Pants, just a friend who also liked Daring Do, and Daring was just a fellow adventure pony. No romance there, nope, and then there was Pinkie Pie, I mean sure she was super cute and adored Rainbow Dash which stroked her ego in a way that Dash loved, but nope, no romantic feelings there either....right. "Uh...Dashie? Yea in there?" Pinkie asked. The pony just waving her hoof in front of her friend. Rainbow Dash just blinked herself back to reality. "Oh ah, yea- about that" Rainbow began as she cleared her throat "Sorry Sky, but I don't do the whole romance things." Rainbow groaned. "I mean i'm awesome enough as is, and I don't need that kind of wing pony-if yea catch my drift." Rainbow stated "I see" Skystar pouted. "Well, yea can't blame a girl for asking, I mean i went a year without hearing any juicy gossip." Skystar blushed. "But hey, you want to be a strong independent mare, I can respect that" Skystar smiled. "Darn" Pinkie huffed "I was sure you were gonna say Quibble Pants" The pink pony replied. "Now I owe Applejack 10 bits!" Pinkie Huffed. Rainbow meanwhile just rolled her eyes and looked at the clock. "It's getting late, let's just go to bed already" She huffed. "Okie Dokie Dashie" Pinkie agreed as she grabbed Gummie and hopped to her bed, Dash snuggling into her sleeping bag. "Where do I sleep?" Skystar asked a bit confused. "Oh, right I forgot you didn't bring much with you" Pinkie sheepishly chuckled. "Well, how about you sleep with me" She smiled at her friend. "My bed is plenty big enough for one more!" She smiled. Skystar just smiled back and hopped up on the bed snuggling under the covers and giving Pinkie Pie yet another hug. Meanwhile Rainbow Dash just watched the sight, an uneasy feeling bubbling up in her stomach once more. Author's Note Another chapter up, finally! Pinkie reassured her employer. "I mean I guess I might be a teensy weensy bit anxious to get my weekly letter from Princess SkyStar." Pinkie admitted. "But that's only because in the last letter I got from her she said she might have some super awesome surprise good news for me and I told her in my letter back that sounded awesome and I couldn't wait to find out what it was and I was super excited and today I'm supposed to get my super awesome surprise letter which I guess isn't really a surprise cause I already know about it but Skystar told me to be excited anyway so I am super duper excited!!" Pinkie Pie finally finished as she took a moment to catch her breath after such a long and energetic response. Mrs. Cake just smiled and nodded her head. "I see" she chuckled still trying to process everything Pinkie had excitedly spewed out. "Well don't worry deary, I'm sure Derpy will be hear any minute." Mrs. Cake reassured Pinkie with a soft motherly smile. All of a sudden the two heard a loud thud on the bottom half of the backdoor. "Speak of the devils" Mrs. Cake chuckled once more recognizing the sound as the villages cross-eyed mailmare crashing into the door yet again. Pinkie Pie quickly opened the door right as Derpy was getting back on her feet. "Good morning Pinkie Pie!" The grey furred Pegasus greeted as she stretched out her wings and brushed her blond mane out of her eyes. "How are you this morning? Got any muffins?" She politely asked. "Mornin Derps!" Pinkie smiled back at the mailmare. "Yep, I've got your morning muffin right here!" The peppy pink pony smiled as she presented a plate with a freshly baked bran muffin, Derpy salivating as she slowly moved her hoof towards it only to have Pinkie pull it away at the last minute. "Hey!?" Derpy angrily huffed. "What'd yea do that for!?" Pinkie just mad a mischevious smile. "My letter first Ms. Hooves, then you can have your muffin." Pinkie faux-bribed the klutzy Pegasus. "Oh, yea-almost forgot about that." Derpy blushed as she plunged her left wing into one of the rather large saddlebags tied around her torso containing the town's mail for the day. After rummaging around for a minute she finally found the sea-weed green envelope with a red seal showing a picture of the Nuevo family royal crest. "Trade?" Derpy asked. "Trade" Pinkie happily agreed as she tossed the muffin to Derpy, the bubbly pegasus doing the same to her for the letter. "Yum!" Derpy proclaimed as she quickly devoured her treat, licking her lips as to make sure to get any and all crumbs. "Thanks Pinkie, have a great day!" Derpy exclaimed as she headed off to deliver the rest of the mail and if she had time maybe check-up on her dear friend The Doctor as well. Pinkie Pie set and watched the Pegasus fly off for a bit to make sure she didn't bump into anything big and once Derpy was out of sight she refocused her attention to the letter she had just received as a large happy smile spread across her face. "Well, are you going to open it?" Mrs Cake asked now quite curious as to what news it might contain herself. "You bet your sweet cupcakes I am!" Pinkie excitedly cheered as she moved to quickly open her latest cross-country correspondence before abruptly stopping right before her hoof ripped the seal. "What's the matter deary? Why'd you stop?" Ms. Cake asked a bit confused by Pinkie's sudden hesitation. "Wh-what if..." Pinkie paused. "What if what?" Mrs. Cake asked the paused pony. "What if the news isn't good news!?" Pinkie panicked. "What if SkyStar is writing to tell me she doesn't want to be Pen Pals anymore!? What if she doesn't want to be friends!? What if she got wooed by some sexy serpent into living a life of crime & debauchery at the high seas!" The erratic earth pony exclaimed. Mrs. Cake just rolled her eyes and slowly trotted towards her young friend. "I doubt it's anything as...extreme as that." Mrs. Cake replied as she softly patted Pinkie on the back in an attempt to calm her down. "Besides, didn't you say it was good news earlier?" Mrs. Cake reminded her. "Oh-yeah" Pinkie Pie blushed looking at her more relaxed co-confectionist. "Well here goes nothing!" She stated as she found her courage and slowly opened the seal and removed the letter inside looking at it and reading as fast as she could, her eyes practically glued to the page. "AAHHHHH!!" Pinkie Pie screamed. "What is it!?" Mrs. Cake asked in a panic. "YOU WERE RIGHT!" Pinkie happily cheered. "You were right Mrs. Cake it is good news! It's SkyStar! She's finally coming for a visit! She's finally coming to Ponyville!!" Pinkie Pie cheered as she jumped up and down and squeezed the dark blue earth pony with one of her pattented super tight, super happy hugs. "G-glad to hear it Pinkie, n-now would you mind putting me down deary, I-I need to breath" Mrs. Cake wheezed as Pinkie finished up her hug. The cotton candy maned mare did as she was told as she continued to hop up and down and out the back door. "Oh I can't wait to tell all my friends that SkyStar is coming to visit! They'll be so excited!!" She exclaimed as she continued her happy stride, Mrs. Cake just looking on and chuckling as she closed the door behind the peppy pink pony. Author's Note OK. Finally got this story off the ground. Yay! Since it's more or less a side story to LIAT though as opposed to the direct sequel I'll probably be a bit slower on updates, but Don't worry it'll still be A good one. And a proper LIAT sequel should be along sometime within the first quarter of 2018 so be on the lookout for that as well! As always thanks for reading and will try to go back and fix errors later on!
Chapter 1: Of Rainbows, Pies and PrincessesThe morning sun continued to shine brightly over Ponyville as it's citizens went about their day. One rainbow maned pegasus in particular was ecspecially eager as she hid up in the tree near her oldest friends cottage. "He's alluded me time & time again, but not anymore." The Cyan mare snickered. "But not this time! Today is the day I finally prank Discord!" She chuckled as she continued her stakeout knowing any moment now the door would open and her dear friend Fluttershy would come out to feed her chickens and Discord would be right beside her to help. "Hehehe, any minute now" she anticipated licking her lips. "HEY RAINBOW DASH WHAT YEA DOIN!?" A loud voice inquired as a startled Rainbow Dash fell out of her tree and saw the source of the disruption. "What the hay Pinkie Pie!?" Rainbow angrilly huffed. "Are you trying to give away my posistion!?" The Pegasus pouted. "Oh no i'm just....wait...position? What position?" Pinkie asked now distracted from her origional goal of sharing her good news by her curiosity as to what her dear friend Dashie was up to. "Today is the day i'm finally going to prank Discord!" Rainbow Dash proudly responded puffing out her chest and giving a confident grin. Pinkie just staring at Rainbow before breaking out laughing. "W-what's so funny!?" Rainbow Dash growled. "Oh Dashie you silly filly.." Pinkie Pie began. "Even I know you can't prank Discord" the cotton-candy maned Earth Pony continued as she steadily calmed down her laughter. "Besides haven't you already tried to prank him like 37 times before!?" She asked as she finished up. "Yea, well....you know what they say, the 38th time's a charm." She stubbornly replied her face blush red thinking of the emberassment of her past failures as time and time again the pesky Draconiques had gotten the better of her, and in front of Fluttershy no less. "I'm afraid you'll have to make it 39 my dear." A teasing voice sang from behind causing Dash to jump and turn around seeing Discord and Fluttershy right behind her. "W-wha-b-but how!?" Rainbow Dash asked dumbfounded. "Come now Rainbow, what kind of lord of chaos would I be if I wasn't able to sneak-up on ponies without them noticing." Discord chuckled looking down at the disgruntled cyan prankster, Fluttershy doing her best not to chuckle at Discord's teasing of her dear friend. "Ugg, Pinkie you ruined my chance!" Rainbow Dash huffed looking angrily back at the peppy pink pony. "Now Now Rainbow, you can't go blaming Ms. Pie for your failures." Discord continued to taunt. "Fluttershy and I were well aware of your little stake-out well before Pinkie suprised you out of that tree" The Draconiques devilishly smiled. "Yea, well...Just you wait, i'll get you eventually Discord!" Rainbow growled as she zoomed off. The others just watching as she headed back into town. "Oh Dizzy, I wish you wouldn't tease Rainbow like that, you know how prideful she can be, she hates losing at anything, even a prank." Fluttershy chuckled looking-up at her chaotic companion. "Apologies Dear Fluttershy, but come now, you know you love it when I tease" Discord cooed giving Fluttershy a wink, the yellow pegasus just blushing in return. "And you Ms. Pie I do believe you had something important you wanted to tell our dear friend Rainbow Dash!?" Discord chuckled looking down at Pinkie Pie. "Oh my gosh your right! Dashie wait I have something I need to tell you!!" Pinkie shouted as she too ran back towards the center of Ponyville. "What was that all about?' Fluttershy asked looking rather confused. "Worry not dear Fluttershy, it won't matter to us for a couple more chapters." Discord reassured her with a smile. "Rainbow Dash!?" Pinkie shouted as she ran through the town looking for her friend, nearbye ponies just staring as they watched the towns party planner running in a mad dash. "Rainbow Da-" she started again before feeling a hoof block her mouth. "What!?" The still disgruntled pegasus mare asked looking quite seriously at her peppy pink friend. "I have amazing news and I wanted to tell you first!" Pinkie Pie smiled as she jumped up and down in her usual happy manner. "You figured out a way to prank Discord?" Rainbow Dash sarcastically asked the hyper active horsette. "No, though that would be pretty amazing news too I guess." Pinkie agreed. "This is even better! Like super duper extra awesome rainboom better!" Pinkie Pie happilly exclaimed. Rainbow Dash just rolled her eyes. "OK Pinks, what is it" Dash asked only partially caring what the answer was. "Princess SkyStar is coming to Ponyville to spend the rest of the summer with me!!" Pinkie Pie excitedly emoted. "Wha-really, but I thought her mom grounded her for like a year!?" Rainbow Dash asked in surprise. "Yea, Queen Nuevo was pretty peeved Sky put herself in harms way like that I guess, but c'mon she helped us save Equestria, no way her mom was gonna keep her under house arrest forever." Pinkie chuckled in reply. "Yea, I guess." Dash agreed. "So when is she gonna be here?" the mare asked, now genuinly curious as the prospect of a hippogryph in Ponyville was an intriuging one as it would potentially give her a new flight training buddy. "She's gonna be here tonight!" Pinkie responded with a smile. "Oh wait, I have an amazing Idea! What if you come over to Sugarcube Corner and help me get things set-up for her arrival and then we can all celebrate with a "Welcome To Ponyville Princess SkyStar Party!!" Pinkie sang as she happily jumped around her friend. "OK, yea, I can work with that" Rainbow Dash agreed. "I'll see who we else we can get to help and see you back at the SCC in two shakes of a Lamb-Bear's tail! " Dash chuckled with a wink as she flew off, Pinkie smiling and waving before hoping back to sugarcube corner. Later that night Pinkie, Dash and a handful of their friends gathered around the large table Pinkie had put out as the eager Earthmare put on the finishing touches. "There, it's perfect!" Pinkie cheered as she looked at their work. "Yea, it looks pretty sweet" Rainbow Dash agreed. "But sorry I couldn't get more ponies to help out, seems everyone was busy today." Rainbow nervously chuckled looking at the rest of the group which only consisted of Spike, The Crusaders, The Cakes and Cranky Doodle who had gotten roped into the festivities by mistakingly thinking today would be a good day to leave his house. "Aww, it's OK Dashie, I know all our friends can't be free all the time, i'm just glad you and the others that were here were well...here!" The pink pony chuckled giving Dash one of her super-tight best friend hugs. "Haha, think nothing of it." Dash huffed recovering from her friends vicelike grip. "Always happy to help a friend" Rainbow boasted. But before Pinkie could reply the group heard the door to Sugarcube corner open and a rather tall tan Hippogryph barged in. "I'M HEERREE!!!" Princess SkyStar joyfully sang as she made her enterence, Pinkie turning her attention away from Rainbow and towards her new friend. "Sky!" Pinkie happily shouted as she quickly ran towards the Elegant Eagle-Pony. "Pinkie!" Skystar joyfully exclaimed as she stood up on her back-two legs and held her arms open for the tiny pink pony to jump into. The two finally meeting and joyfully embracing one another. As the two friends reunited the small group cheered, all accept Dash who noticed the particular kind of hug the two were sharing seemed a bit diffetent then Pinkie's usual hugs, this seemed softer, deeper. Rainbow couldn't place it, but something about seeing the display made her feel a bit....off. Author's Note Finally got another chapter out, yay! And oh no, Dashie starting to get jealous already!? Chapter 2: Super Duper Sleep Over Surprise!Pinkie Pie chuckled as she bounced up and down around her room. The party may have been over but for her the fun was just starting. After a year of waiting her bestest best friend from beyond Equestria had finally come for a visit and on top of that she was going to be Pinkie's room mate! A Summer long sleep over, what more could a pony ask for!? "Hehehehehe!!" Pinkie chuckled as she continued to bounce around a like a foal who had just eaten her first piece of candy. "We get if Pinkie Pie, you're excited" Rainbow Dash huffed as she rolled her eyes. Pinkie just stopped and let out a happy chuckle. "Sorry Dashie, I just can't help it" Pinkie Pie widely smiled. "My very bestest best Hippogriph/Seapony friend staying the summer is just soo awesome!" Pinkie Pie cheered as she quickly and tightly hugged Skystar, the hippogriph just giving the peppy pink pony a happy smile in return. "And on top of that I have my bestest pegasus pony friend to help make her feel at home." Pinkie continued as she ran over and hugged Rainbow Dash as well. "OK, OK, I get it you're happy" Rainbow wheezed as she pryed herself out of Pinkie's embrace. The peppy pink earth pony still smiling and chuckling. All of a sudden however Skystar spoke up. "Well, you know to be honest i've never been to a sleepover before." Skystar bashfully admitted. "And outside of Shelly and Sheldon i've never really had any room mates" She blushed. "So what exactly are we supposed to do at these kinds of things?" Skystar asked rather inquisitively. Pinkie Pie just let another wide smile as the happy energy in her grew even greater "Oh my gosh Sky, there's like so many things you can do at a slumber party!" Pinkie cheered. "We can play games like Candy Land or Hungry Hungry Hippos, we can go downstairs and bake cupcakes, or or we can play hide and seek or have a pillow fight or play truth or dare, or build a blanket fort, or or tell each other super scary stories!!!" Pinkie Pie excitedly explained. "Oh my, that does sound like quite a lot." Skystar chuckled looking over at her happy friend. "Or we could just you know, sleep" Rainbow Dash chimed in as she plopped down on top of her sleeping bag, her head resting on her pillow. "Oh, C'mon Dashie, it's not even that late yet!" Pinkie Pie pouted. "Maybe not, but i'm poopped so, yea, sleep time" Dash sternly stated. "OK, I understand" Pinkie Pouted. "I mean you were probably afraid that Skystar and me would beat you at Candy Land anyway." Pinkie Pie teased, knowing that this would activate her friends competitive streak. As Pinkie had predicted Rainbow Dash darted up. "Say that again." Rainbow Dash huffed. "Oh no Dashie, it's OK, I understand i'm super duper good at board games, I don't blame you for being afraid to play against Pinkamiana Candy Queen Pie!" Pinkie Pie mischievously chuckled. By now Rainbow had her serious face on and looked Pinkie straight in the face. "OK Pinkie, get your silly little game and get ready to have your flank whooped by Rainbow Danger Dash!" Rainbow boasted with a cocky smile, "hehehe, this sleepover stuff really is fun!" Skystar chuckled as she watched the two ponies stare each other down. After a couple of hours had passed and the three slumper party participants had played about half a dozen games, Pinkie beating both at Candyland but Dash beating all others out at Clue and Hungry Hungry Hippos, Sky Star being surprisingly good at Marenopoly and Uno ending in a tie, by the final game of Super Silly Trivia Time the group had become burnt out on board games. "You know Pinkie, these games have been fun and all, but I think i'm ready for a change of pace" Rainbow Dash admitted. "Yea, same" Skystar agreed. "Hmm, OK....I guess we can switch things up." Pinkie thought. "But how?" "What about that Truth or Dare game you talked about earlier?" Skystar asked. "That sounded fun." "Oh yea!" Pinkie Cheered. "Let's do that!" The peppy pink pony shouted. "OK, OK we'll play truth or dare, just calm down Pinkie, yea don't wanna wake-up the cake twins do yea!?" Rainbow Scolded. "Hehe, sorry" Pinkie Blushed. "I'll go get a bottle for the game and be right back!" She announced as she zipped out of the room, Skystar and Dash just looking at one another and chuckling at their friends seemingly never ending stores of energy. Shortly after pinkie returned and the three set in the middle of the room. "OK, so let me see if I understand this" Skystar began "We take turns spinning the bottle and whomever it lands on we ask them truth or dare and if we say truth they have to answer any question honestly and if we say dare they have to do whatever we dare them to?" Skystar curiously asked. "Yea, more or less" Dash affirmed. "But there are some rules of course" Pinkie said in as serious a tone as she could "You can't dare ponies to do something that could hurt them and while you can ask any truth you want most stay a way from super duper personal questions." Pinkie pie explained. "OK, got it, let's play!" Skystar cheered as she clapped her claws. "OK, Dashie, you go first!" Pinkie Smiled. "Sure, why not" Dash agreed as she spun the bottle with her hoof, it landing on Pinkie. "OK Pinks, Truth or Dare?" Rainbow Asked. "Oh, Oh Dare!" Pinkie Pie cheered. "Hehe, OK then" Rainbow Dash slyly chuckled. "I dare you to drink an entire bottle of soda in one gulp!" Rainbow Chuckled. "Haha, child's play!" Pinkie boasted as she grabbed a nearby soda bottle and chugged it down faster then Twilgiht eating a hayburger. "BURP!!" she loudly belched afterwords. "Nothing to it!" She smiled, happy of her accomplishment. "Bwahahaha, Pinkie, you are hilarious!" Skystar laughed as she rolled back and held her sides. "Hehe, thanks" Pinkie Pie blushed as she set back down. "OK, my turn!" she sang as she spun the bottle as hard as she could, it eventually slowing down in front of Skystar. "OK Sky, truth or dare?" Pinkie Pie asked with a smile. "Hmm....Since you did dare I guess i'll do...truth" Skystar chuckled wit ha reply. "OK then, Princess Skystar, who do you like better, Shelly or Sheldon?" Pinkie asked with a rather serious face. Skystar just paused. "Pinkie, how dare you make me pick between my two oldest friends!" She faux-gasped as she pretended to faint. "Oh I mean sure Shelly is a much better listener then Sheldon, but Sheldon is much more articulate and more fun to debate Seaquestrian politics with" Skystar rambled. "But at the end of the day...." Skystar paused. "I just love all of my friends!" She chuckled as she grabbed Pinkie and gave her a tight hug. "Bleh" Rainbow exclaimed, getting tired of all the over abundance of chuckling and lovey-dovey friendship mush. "OK, OK" Pinkie chuckled as this time it was her turn to wiggle out of another's embrace. "It's your turn now sky, go ahead and spin the bottle!" Pinkie Smiled. "Okie Dokie!" Skystar replied as she grabbed the bottle with her claws and began to spin. The bottle getting slower and slower until it stopped right in front of Rainbow Dash. "Ohhh" Skystar cooed. "So, Ms. Dash, truth or dare?" Skystar asked a playful look in her eyes. Rainbow Dash thought about it for a bit. "eh, what the hay, i'll go with truth" She responded to the other's surprise. "I mean a dare would be fun and all, but anything you could come up with would probably be way to easy for me, no offense" The cyan mare boasted. "Fair enough" Skystar replied. "OK then, Rainbow Dash, I gotta ask, Pinkie tells me a whole lot about you and the others in her letters, but she never really tells me much of anything too juicy-so i'm kinda curious. Do you have a special somepony, or is there any pony you have a crush on!?" Skystar inquired an eager smile on her face. Rainbow Dash however just froze. For somepony like her a question like this was one of the worst you could ask. Sure some ponies liked to gossip and talk about the colts n fillies they had crushes on, but Rainbow Dash always hated stuff like that, ecspecially when she did such a good job of constantly denying she ever felt any form of romantic feelings for anypony. Her fellow wonderbolts, just admiration, Quibble Pants, just a friend who also liked Daring Do, and Daring was just a fellow adventure pony. No romance there, nope, and then there was Pinkie Pie, I mean sure she was super cute and adored Rainbow Dash which stroked her ego in a way that Dash loved, but nope, no romantic feelings there either....right. "Uh...Dashie? Yea in there?" Pinkie asked. The pony just waving her hoof in front of her friend. Rainbow Dash just blinked herself back to reality. "Oh ah, yea- about that" Rainbow began as she cleared her throat "Sorry Sky, but I don't do the whole romance things." Rainbow groaned. "I mean i'm awesome enough as is, and I don't need that kind of wing pony-if yea catch my drift." Rainbow stated "I see" Skystar pouted. "Well, yea can't blame a girl for asking, I mean i went a year without hearing any juicy gossip." Skystar blushed. "But hey, you want to be a strong independent mare, I can respect that" Skystar smiled. "Darn" Pinkie huffed "I was sure you were gonna say Quibble Pants" The pink pony replied. "Now I owe Applejack 10 bits!" Pinkie Huffed. Rainbow meanwhile just rolled her eyes and looked at the clock. "It's getting late, let's just go to bed already" She huffed. "Okie Dokie Dashie" Pinkie agreed as she grabbed Gummie and hopped to her bed, Dash snuggling into her sleeping bag. "Where do I sleep?" Skystar asked a bit confused. "Oh, right I forgot you didn't bring much with you" Pinkie sheepishly chuckled. "Well, how about you sleep with me" She smiled at her friend. "My bed is plenty big enough for one more!" She smiled. Skystar just smiled back and hopped up on the bed snuggling under the covers and giving Pinkie Pie yet another hug. Meanwhile Rainbow Dash just watched the sight, an uneasy feeling bubbling up in her stomach once more. Author's Note Another chapter up, finally!
