Virin the Series: Equestria Girls
Episode 3: I'm Also A Man, Grady
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIn New France, on a farm where people were trying to plant the seeds to grow vegetarian, some of the people was confused why it was not working.
"Why is it not working?" A brown French echoed in a thick French accent.
Suddenly, there was an "earthquake" as the people were starting to scream in surprise. The ground was shaking violently, as though it was a tough earthquake. But, in reality, it was caused by a giant creature.
From underneath the surface, a giant worm sprung up as the French people ran away from the scene, and away from the giant worm that had blueish skin, with its underbelly a bright yellow colour. It had teeth like an carnivore. It had large spikes on its head, going down to its tail.
The worm retreated back to the ground as the French humans ran off in search for shelter.
At the lab...
Inside the facility, the group of ten was having their daily life. Sunset was studying with Twilight about Virin's transformation, Riley was playing video games on his computer. Crait was working on A.N.G.I.L as Riley had reprogrammed it once again, which frustrated him.
Applejack was trying to make Riley to understand their situation, to no valid. Pinkie was sitting on the ground, bored out of her mind. Rarity was staring out of the window, looking at the swimming dragon that were in the water, along with Rainbow that also looked on the red dragon. Fluttershy also looked on, but had fear in her eyes as she watched the dragon swim about.
The yellow human was still skeptical of Virin being here. She was thinking that the military should've had finished him off, but he had simply endured their air strike. That was simply just impossible. But, he made it possible, somehow- How did he do it? Did he have some sort of regeneration ability of some sort? That made it just sound too silly.
But, she couldn't shake the feeling off that he had saved their lives from the squids and that T. Rex back in New Mexico a few weeks ago. That was just too heroic for him to do, which responded to her that she was slowly feeling better with him being here. But, that was very slow, considering he was a monster to her eyes.
Outside in the water, Virin was swimming happily. He was lucky that there was water near the facility. He was also somehow lucky to have survived that air strike. That was a frightening thing to do, in the humans' eyes, to him. He was only trying to be nice around the gang that had saved this city from power-hungry sirens, along with a power-hungry teacher. He was going to do the same to them, by saving the world from monsters of all kind.
Virin was in thought about his pony family. How were they doing? How are they able to take in the fact that he has been away for two months? How'll they react to the news of him nearly dying to the humans? All these questions left him baffled just by thinking about them.
Inside the facility, Applejack finally had enough of Riley. She turned to him with a scowl, walking up to the computer, pressing on the button, causing it to turn black in an instant. Riley gasped at this.
"Hey!" He finally called out, glaring at the orange human. "I was playing that!" He was angry that he had lost his new record of his "Plants vs. Zombies" game. He was also angry by the fact that he had only just reached level eighty of that game.
"Will you focus?" Applejack finally snapped, causing Riley to rear back at her sudden snappish attitude. "We're trying to work things out here."
"Alright. Alright." Riley was shaking by her snapping, something he shouldn't had done. Riley had taken a liking to the orange human, but didn't say his feelings aloud so she could hear it. He was going to keep it private as long as possible.
Applejack sighed, walking over to Sunset that was typing on the computer. "Anything?"
"Nothing yet." Sunset replied, distracted by her voice, looking at her. "But, I've found out as to why he's able to undergo his transformation. It took two months for me to find out."
"And, what did you figure out?"
"It seems that..." Sunset started, trying to let out her words carefully of her examination. "He's able to transform through that aura thing that surrounds him. He's also able to transform at will, something which seems to be nearly impossible. It's almost like how we're undergoes that weird transformation when we were at the Battle of the Bands."
"Yeah." Applejack nodded. "I remember that time. It was one of the weirdest things ever to happen to us."
"Weird or not," Sunset shook her head. "It happened when we were giving it us all, by not giving up."
Crait was still working on A.N.G.I.L as he overheard the two girls talking. He stopped with his work and walked over to them. "Did you say "Battle of the Bands"?" This caught everyone's attention.
Sunset and Applejack sighed simultaneously, before nodding to Crait's question.
"The music battle happened over a year ago." Sunset responded idly. "Why's that a surprise?"
"Because..." Crait started, trying to find his words. "I was happening to watch the entire thing on the television. I was a fan of music, to be in fact."
"Yeah." Riley added. "I saw it on the television, as well. How about you, Monique?" They all looked at the French person, who shook her head. "Nothing at all?"
"Nothing." Monique replied in her French accent. "We French people were preoccupied with maintaining balance throughout our home. It was said that, a dragon and a monster had fought while you girls had the "Battle of the Bands" thing going on."
"We heard." Pinkie replied, giving a small smile. "We did hear two roars that time, but ignored it entirely. We weren't the least concerned for the dragon back then, but now we are. Right, girls?" The girls nodded, except Fluttershy who had a skeptical look on her face.
"What's wrong, Flutters?" Rainbow frowned at the yellow human. Her friends looked at her as well, concerned, except for Monique.
"It's about Virin..." The shy human whispered. "I think, that he has to go away." She had a whisper again, but not low so they couldn't hear her.
"Why?" Sunset inquired with sharpness, which only made the yellow human to wince at the tone. "He has done nothing wrong, Fluttershy...well, except for attacking the military. But, why do you wish for him to go away? He has saved us from that T. Rex two months ago. Isn't that enough?"
"Obviously not." Monique responded for Fluttershy. "And, I agree with her. He has to be destroyed."
"But why?" Sunset raised her voice. "He hasn't done anything wrong yet! He has saved us from Xeisan, Brandrun, Kelbas, and many other kind of monsters. Wasn't that enough?!"
"No." Monique answered simple and coldly. "While I agree he hasn't done anything wrong, he still is a danger and threat to humankind."
"He's not!"
"He's too."
"Not!"
"Too."
"Stop it!" Riley suddenly shouted, causing them to look at him as he held his temples. "You're giving me an headache!"
"Sorry..." Sunset said apologetically, glaring at Monique, who returned the glance. Sunset was going to get to the bottom of why the French female would want Virin to be destroyed.
As a splash was heard from the outside, Crait jumped at the sudden splash. Pinkie snickered at his jumpy attitude, feeling a bit better now. Though, she should choose what they should do with the dragon.
One: Have him here.
Two: Get him to save their butts each time a monster attacks, or be brave.
Three: Get him killed by the H.D.F military forces.
She just can't decide what to do with him. Although he had saved their lives from the mutated T. Rex's wrath, she can't shake the feeling off as to why Virin would be brawling with it while it was just some poor animal, just in mutation form. Was it because of that nuclear testing in the ocean? It could be, but she needed clarification to be done.
On the other hand, Monique was also a mystery to them as well to her. Why was she here? What was her purpose? Why is she intending to neutralize the mutants and monsters from all kind? All of these questions baffled the pink human. Although she had somehow helped Virin in saving them from the squids, it wasn't enough for them to trust her, and trust was the only thing they needed from her to befriended. However, she hasn't shown any sign of friendly attitude other than that "I want to neutralize him" expression all the time.
While she agreed with Monique in destroying the dragon, Pinkie couldn't help but feel sympathetic for the dragon's loss. Was he an atom reactor that had lost his family and friends, like Gojira, or was he just another animal that lived with ponies? These question were confusion to her. She also couldn't shake her feeling of his purpose here. Was he here to help them fight off those monsters? Or, was he here to destroy the military and the Earth people? Either way, he was a force of nature that was helping them, something she hasn't accepted yet.
While Princess Twilight was easy for them to befriend, along with this world's Twilight, Monique was the hardest for them to befriend. She was strict to her people's rules, as well as a kind of puppet to them.
Outside in the water, Virin swam underneath the surface. He was swimming towards a cavern, which goes into a larger cave inside. Curious, he decided to swim inside and take a look. As he swam, he found a pond in the opening of the large cave. He resurfaced to find a small ledge near the water, perfectly his size. Giving a small small, he decided to take a nap there, feeling lucky to have found this to take in the nights of this world.
In the facility, Sunset was scanning through the pages of a few documents of the Earth people. She was carefully examining them, not wanting to cause a virus or something like that to happen. Looking outside, she quickly noticed that her friend was nowhere in sight. He wasn't swimming or anything like that. No. It was like he just disappeared.
"Um, guys?" She called. "Virin's nowhere in the lake." This caught their attention, as they walked up to her.
"Where is he?" Rarity frowned, looking at the water. She was concerned what had happened to him. Was he gone again? Or did he fled from their bickering?
"Obviously," Monique said, "He has been hiding under the water all the time. He must have had found a cavern of some sort."
"You think so?" Sunset inquired the female French, who nodded sharply. The light amber girl turned to Crait, who was confused by her stare.
"What?"
"Send A.N.G.I.L down there." Sunset ordered him. "We must find him."
"But, A.N.G.I.L isn't done yet." Crait protested, raising his arms up in the robot's defense. "I still have to reprogram his circuits so they're completed."
Sunset sighed, looking back towards the water. She was obviously concerned for her friend. What was he thinking? He knows that he'll just worry her like how she did when the military attacked him with their missiles and weaponry. She was disgusted with the military when they had arrived and "killed" Virin, only to find out that he survived, which was lucky for both him and her.
Suddenly, her phone rang. She took it out and talked to the person that sent her an emergency. "Alright. We'll be there." She put the phone back into her pocket. Sunset looked at her friends, who looked at her. "There's some things going on in France. We'd better check it out." Monique perked up at this. At her home? Now? She gritted her teeth, clenching her eyes shut as she inhaled a deep breath and exhaled.
"Well, since it is happening at my home," Monique started, getting their attention. "We'll do things my way."
"Hold up the horses!" Riley raised his arms up, as though in self-defense. "This is L.R.D business. We're doing it together, not by separate each other from doing one's own thing!"
"And, if I may ask," Monique glanced at him. "What kind of business are we talking about, huh?"
"Monster hunting, but not in the way you're doing it." Riley replied, rubbing the back of his neck. Monique sighed, playing along until she gets home.
From under the water, in the cavern, Virin opened his right eye as he sensed his friends leaving for France. Whatever France was, he was going to follow them no matter what.
Getting up and about, Virin jumped into the water, swimming just right behind the L.R.D Seeker as it sailed towards its new destination: France.
Sailing towards their destination, Sunset and the others talked amongst themselves, thinking on what could had happened to Monique's home. Was there a monster attack, or an mutation that had attacked them? Either way, they were going to find out once they get there.
Fluttershy cowered at the back as she let out a very low whimper. Why did she had to tag along? What was her purpose on this mission of theirs? But, she tagged along with Spike anyways. The dog was wagging his tail back and forth happily, gaining a few chuckles from his friends. The dog was standing with his friend Twilight, who was looking out to the sea, thinking back to her previous experience with the ocean.
"What's wrong, Twi?" Spike whispered. "Afraid of the ocean?" She gave him a small nod in response. "C'mon. Don't be scared. We're all here for you, remember? So, everything's going to be just fine." Twilight let out a small sigh, not going to distract her friends from their work.
"Hey! There it is!" Riley called out, luckily for Twilight. She walked up to them as the A.N.G.I.L hacker pointed to their destination. "New France! We made it!"
"Yes, indeed." Sunset smiled anxiously. "Let's get to the shore at the beach, then we'll take a walk up to town." Riley nodded and drove the boat to the shore at the beach as told.
After getting their supplies ready, the group of ten walked out and jumped down to the nice, cool sand of the beach. Twilight caught Spike as he jumped into her arms, giving her a lick for the catch. As they walked on the soft sand, Sunset and Monique couldn't help but give a small smile. They were finally in France, the latter's home. Sunset couldn't help but admire the scenario of the terrain as they walked through the forest to a small town. There were a few branches on the ground with vines on them, but that didn't matter to them.
As a town came into view, the group stopped as they stared at the state of the farm nearby. No seeds were growing in the farm, which was a mystery to them. Why would a farm with no seeds still be here? That didn't matter, as they walked again until a France man drove his car up to them.
"Excuse me," Monique started in her French accent, talking to the man. "But, we're here to investigate strange occurring going on here. Can you tell us what had happened?"
"It was terrible." The man replied in a thick French accent. "A giant worm pierced through the ground from under us. It was El Gigantis. Better leave, or you will murder your lives!" He drove away from the group, getting away as far as possible.
"What did he say, Monique?" Sunset inquired in confusion, unable to understand their conversation.
"It was a giant worm that was responsible for this." Monique answered gravely. "I think its name was El Gigantis. A mutated worm species that was filled with radiation from nuclear testing, like that T. Rex from two months ago."
"You sure?" Sunset asked.
"absolutely." Monique confirmed. She had just confirmed that an giant worm is on the loose in New France, something Sunset approved of, but in a strict way as she looked at Crait again, who had an confused expression again.
"What?" He asked in confusion.
"Is A.N.G.I.L ready?"
"It's something like that, he's fully ready." Crait confirmed. "I had taken my time with him while we sailed from the lab to here."
"That's what I like to hear." Sunset gave a smile of approval. "Get the 'bot, and we'll search for the giant worm."
"You mean..." Crait started, feeling a bit worried. "Right when I get back with A.N.G.I.L?"
"Yes." A sigh escaped the scientist's lips. "Don't worry. We'll sort things out quickly."
"I hope so." Crait said lowly in a whisper, turning around and walked back to the boat where he had left the robot behind. As Crait walked to the beach, he felt the sudden nerve of uneasiness as he walked up to the robot. He had just finished repairing A.N.G.I.L, and now he had to be used again. It was what had worried him. What if Riley decides to reprogram it again, and leave it afterward to him to re-reprogram the bot? This was truly frustrating for the scientist, as he wasn't ready to get used having the robot with him all the time, but with Sunset's strict "rules", he has to.
As Crait turned the robot on, it started making funny noises.
"Hey there, sonny." A.N.G.I.L greeted. "What do we have for dinner?" Crait sighed as he walked back to the others, with the robot following him.
Note to self, Crait thought. Never let that hacker mess with A.N.G.I.L's programming.
As Crait walked up the path of the forest to the town, he noticed that Monique was waiting for him, and had her arms crossed as she stared at the scientist.
"About time you showed up." She grumbled.
"Sorry." Crait rubbed the back of his neck with an arm. The two walked up to their comrades as they waited for them to return.
"Did you get the robot?" Sunset inquired, looking at the scientist.
In answer, A.N.G.I.L replied with his funny voice, "Hey there, what do we have for dinner?" A laugh escaped the blue human's mouth.
"It's not funny." Crait said grumpily as he glared at Rainbow.
"Well, it was a little funny." Rainbow snickered a bit, giving a snort right after. Crait sighed in depression as he continued to glare at the blue human, who smirked suddenly. Crait was afraid of her sudden smirk, sighing as he started to follow the walking group of unlikely friends.
Crait was in thought while he walked with his comrades. Should he be able to make it this far with them? Or stay at the lab and be left behind? That was some of the reasons he felt depressed about for today.
As the group walked, they soon find a few, rather large, holes in the ground. They knelt down as they examined the holes one by one.
"Hm." Sunset hummed as she examined her hole. "It seems that, whatever has caused these holes, appears to be a huge creature."
"I bet, that it was this El Gigantis, who did it." Monique jumped to the conclusion, eyeing the hole Sunset was examining with suspicious eyes.
"Now, let's not just jump to that conclusion." Rarity shook her head in despair. "We won't know until we finds out that it did this."
"I agree with Rarity." Rainbow added. "Let's not jump straight to that conclusion, until we have proof."
"Well, excuse me," Monique said idly and a bit coldly. "But, we're in my homeland, and we're doing things my way. So, if any of you have questions, don't make me answer them. Got it?"
Fluttershy, who was about to raise her hand, let it slid down as soon as she started to raise it as she heard Monique. The yellow human was a bit worried. What if the creature were to attack them now, while they stand near a hole? They could fall into it when an earthquake might strike.
"Well, either way," Sunset started. "We'd better check it out further." She then noticed some purple flowers. "Hello. What do we have here?" She knelt down again as she touched one of the purple flowers, which immediately crumbled at the touch. "I see."
"What?" Pinkie frowned, kneeling down as well. "What do you see?"
"Not by seeing, Pinkie." Sunset recoiled her hand from the crumbled flower. "But by touch. These flowers has a fresh soil, the most fresh I've ever seen." She stood up. "Prepare to get back to the town, after we get the worm out." The others nodded, getting their flamethrowers out as they set the hole ablaze.
Suddenly, the earth shook violently, causing the group to fall on the ground by the force of the earthquake. A giant, blue worm sprung up from the burned hole, roaring out in anger.
After had lured it to the surface, the group ran for the hills, passing through the forest as they made their way towards the beach.
As the giant worm neared the group, a sudden fierce roar caught their attention. Turning to the left, the worm saw a fifty-five meters tall dragon that had an enraged expression, as though ready to fight.
"What's he doing here?" Crait shouted to the group as he saw their "friend".
"What does it look like?!" Riley questioned, before cheering for the dragon. The dragon charged at the worm, knocking it down to the ground, before rolling on the ground as they landed. The giant worm landed on the dragon as it sprung up with its carnivorous teeth ready. Virin, however, saw it coming, tail slapping into its side, knocking it to the cliff nearby.
"Virin traveled thousands of miles around the globe...to protect me." Sunset finally realized.
Rarity huffed. "Give yourself all the credit, why don't you?"
The dragon charged at the worm again, headbutting into its side, knocking it back as it tried to get up. The giant worm tried to dig into the ground, but Virin held onto its tail as it was almost down into its hole. Coming up to the surface, the worm finally shook the dragon off as it landed on the ground near the cliff, before standing up as it let loose a fireball attack at the worm, who burrowed in the ground again.
Cautiously, Virin walked up to the hole where the worm had dug down. As he let out a growl, the earth shook violently, causing the dragon to fall on all four as he steadied himself from the earthquake. Coming up from the hole behind the dragon, the worm bit onto the tail, causing the dragon to let out an annoyed roar of pain. Looking back at the worm, he had an annoyed expression as he tried to shake the worm off of his tail.
"The worm has hung onto his tail." Sunset noted, seeing the battle happening before her eyes. They then heard bullets of stone being fired from above them. They looked up and saw the French military firing at the two giants. Three ropes came down to the group, who proceeded by climbing up.
The men continued to fire at the giants, who ignored their bullets and cannonballs, continuing their battle. Virin knocked the worm down by ramming into its side, sending it across the ground. The worm got up and charged at the dragon, who tail slapped it into its side as it came towards the cliff.
"Tell the men to seize their fire." Sunset ordered Monique. "You're the only one who can understand them."
"Ladies and gentlemen, stand aside." The general of the men walked up to them. Sunset walked up to him.
"General, your fire isn't going to work." She reminded him. "They will only enrage the monsters even more." She inwardly flinched at calling her friend a "monster".
The general, however, weren't the least concerned. "Prepare to fire...the missile!" Grabbing the blanket covering a cannon, the group of ten silently gasped at seeing the missile.
Crait leaned close to the light amber girl. "Sunset, I've heard about that missile. It's said to cause sleepiness to the creatures hit by it. Something biologically, to be in fact."
Sunset lowly gasped at the news.
"Prepare..."
"NO!" Sunset cried out.
"...Fire!" The man holding the controller pushed the red button, as the missile was launched into the air. The missile got just right above the fighting monsters, before descending with green smoke coming from its composure. The fighting monsters suddenly stopped in their battle as the giant worm fell to the ground, moaning in pain as it slightly grow in height as it burrowed into the ground, fleeing from the scene.
Virin looked sleepy as he rubbed his eyes as he moaned in a sleepy noise.
"What's happening to him?" Fluttershy dared to ask in worry.
"It was the smoke." Crait realized in shock. "It caused him to suddenly feel sleepy." The yellow human gasped as they watched the dragon walking to the cliffside, scratching the cliff as he walked with his head in the wall. Virin roared out in a moaning noise, rubbing his eyes as he let out another moaning roar. He continued to rub his eyes as he laid into the water, going to the bottom of the ocean.
"NO!!" Sunset cried out helplessly. She couldn't believe it. The French military had used a biological chemical to make her friend fall in the water. She gritted her teeth before taking a deep breath to calm down. She couldn't take it with these guys. They had no right to cause her friend to fall "ill".
The general laughed as he saw the beast's body going to the bottom of the ocean, while still "ill". He was happy to finally getting rid of that damn dragon, which he should tell the other militaries about.
The group of ten was shocked and worried for their new friend. Was he going to die with that chemical biological weapon? It was truly a shocker to them that the military would use one of those weapons against their firend, which made them grit their teeth in anger as they walked away from the scene, going to their boat as the military's soldiers watched them leaving.
As the group made their way towards the boat, each of them was in thought.
Monique was angry by the fact that her own military friends would be so...cruel to their comrade as he laid at the bottom of the ocean. She was going to make it up for him, by saving him from that chemical biological weapon with the scientist's help, going as far to save him as possible.
Pinkie was also angry at them for making her new friend ill with their weapon. He hadn't done anything to them, but protect the group of friends that had happened to watch the entire battle until they interrupted it with their fire. That was what had made her angry. She was going to save him no matter what.
Sunset was in deep thought as they reached the boat. Was he really going to die with that weapon being used on him? Or will he be able to live when they're going to save him from that chemical weapon? Either way, they were not going to tolerate the military for using that cruel weapon on her best friend.
Twilight and Spike looked at Sunset in worry. She was in deep thought, they could tell. But, they could also see that she had gritted her teeth as they reached the boat. Was Virin going to die? They hope not, as it was him who had saved their city many times from different monsters as he had arrived in the world. He was the true saviour of the world than the military of Humanity Defense Forces, who were like villains to him.
As they got up to the boat, Crait was worried for the dragon. Wait, worried? He was the one who had first attacked the military and was in conflict with them the whole time. So, shouldn't he be the least concerned for the dragon? But, here he was. Worried for the drake as it laid at the bottom of the ocean, slowly dying from that biological weapon. Crait was angry at the military for using such a dangerous weapon. Why would they be using it? They know that those kind of weapons were illegal in some kind of way. But, here they were, using it anyway without knowing the danger it may lay on a mere creature.
"Sunset?" Crait hesitated to ask her. The light amber girl turned to him. "I've been thinking. Should I make an antidote to your friend, while you collect those purple flowers that we've found near the worm's holes? I can do it, but only if you want me to. I may be the least concerned for that dragon, but now I'm not sure what to do when they used that weapon on him."
"I would like that, Crait." Sunset nodded in approval. "You may create an antidote to my friend after we've collected enough flowers so you can make one. Think you're up for it?" She had a frown on her face, staring deep into the scientist's eyes, making him feel a bit uneasy.
"Absolutely not." Crait replied. "But, I've got to try and see if I can make one, just for the sake of saving your "friend"." He was really going to hate saving the dragon, but he gotta try and see if he can at least help it while the military isn't looking at the beach. While he was unsure about this, he at least gotta try to make the antidote, using that as an excuse to be on the team as he was one of them.
Sunset nodded at his skeptical expression. She was going to like this guy. She and the others went out to the beach, getting ready to save the dragon from dying.
"Sunset?" Riley started, gaining her attention. "If you want, then me and Monique will gather the samples so Crait can make he antidote. He'll need everything in order to make the antidote."
The girl nodded in approval, looking at a serious Monique. "Think you're up for it?"
"Absolutely." Monique nodded sharply, getting into serious business. She was going to help them save the dragon, no matter what happens if the antidote doesn't work, then she'll have to make arrangements with her superiors.
Sunset gave another nod, smiling in happiness that her friends would do so much to help her friend in his most time of need.
As everyone got into their own things, with Sunset's group going to gather the flowers while Monique's group gather the samples, Crait was now alone in thoughts.
Was it wise to be left alone with A.N.G.I.L? The bot, who was making funny noises like "Hey there, sonny, should we go out on a date?", and "It's really a nice day of the park, wouldn't you agree, son?".
Crait sighed exaggerated as he watched the robot going back inside the bunker as he followed after. He was really going to hate Riley for messing with A.N.G.I.L's programming. They'll come back, he just know it.
With Sunset's group...
After coming to a new set of holes, Sunset's group was gathering the flowers inside the bags that they had with them. As the flowers were all but gone, the group made a run for the hills as the ground started to shake violently.
With Monique and Riley...
Walking through the forest to the military base, Monique and Riley sneaked along the grass as they made their way towards the top of the ledge as they watched a car driving inside the base.
"How do we get inside?" Riley whispered to Monique, going low to the ground as much as possible so he wouldn't be seen.
"Let's see..." Monique smirked as a plan was formed in her head. "Let us play that we're a couple that wants to see the general, but in reality, trying to take the samples. What do you say?" Riley smiled in eagerness as they made their way down from the ledge, without being spotted as they got into a car.
As the car the duo was inside went to the gate, a soldier came forward to the car with a hand holding up.ยจ
"Halt!" The car stopped as the soldier walked towards the driver's seat. "What is your prosperity to drive here?"
"We're here to see the general, if I may politely ask permission." Monique said in a wifely voice, draping an arm around Riley's neck as she continued, "We're a couple that were summoned by him."
The soldier hummed. "Hm. You may enter." He stood to the side, as the car drove inside the base.
Riley looked back at his seat. "Now, I didn't know you were this good." He looked back at Monique with a soft smile. "What was that for? Asking permission to see the general?"
"I had to play along, so we didn't get caught." Monique reminded him harshly. She stopped the car near the base, as the soldiers went inside the bunker as the "couple" went out of the car, not being spotted as they got inside the very bunker the two soldiers went inside earlier.
As the duo made their way towards the door where the samples was, Monique turned to her friend. "Stay guard to the door. Don't do anything heroically." She got inside, as Riley smiled knowingly.
Inside the sample room, Monique was holding a refrigerator door as a shout was heard. She quickly took two or three samples into the bag she had on the belt, closing the refrigerator door as she made outside.
Either two or three soldiers surrounded Riley as he held his arms up in surrender. The soldiers turned to Monique, who gave a smile as the soldiers tried to get her. However, with her swift movements, she quickly dispatched the guards as she bind them with a rope and keeping their mouths shut with papers.
"Look at the dogs I captured." Monique smiled deviously before closing the door to the room the three soldiers were inside. She turned to Riley, giving him the samples. "If one drop comes in contact with your skin, it will kill you." The duo walked outside, when an alarm triggered, causing them to go into a container instead of their car that they drove to get inside with.
"After them! Take back the samples!" The general shouted as they gave pursuit. The duo finally dispatched the dirt that were on the container, causing the soldiers to ram into it as the general were sent flying into the dirt headfirst.
"YEW-HA!" Riley cheered loudly. "Nice one, pal." The duo drove to the beach, where the others of the gang were waiting for them.
Riley and Monique got outside of the container, with the former holding up the samples, showing them that they got it. Sunset smiled pleasantry as they made their way towards the boat's lab, where Crait was waiting their arrival.
As the group got inside the bunker, they noticed that A.N.G.I.L wasn't with Criat as he had a depressed expression on his face, looking grimly as he watched them with a sad smile.
"What's wrong, darling?" Rarity frowned.
"It's A.N.G.I.L." Crait replied, frowning as he explained his story. "When I should go check on Virin, whom is now at the sea's surface, A.N.G.I.L was destroyed by his teeth as I managed to get the important part of the 'bot safely out when the rest were destroyed." He let out a sad sigh, looking at the monitor that showed Virin laying on the sea's surface, slowly breathing as his heart beat was slowly going away.
"Let's not worry about that." Sunset called out. "We got the ingredients that you wanted, so you can make the antidote." He took the bag of flowers from Pinkie, who allowed him to use it, and took the samples from Riley, who also allowed him to take it.
"We'll wait for the worm," Sunset called out, gaining a nod from the scientist. As the group of nine left, Crait began working on the antidote as he worked with the machines to make it. He pressed a button of one of the machines where the liquid of the samples was, before it got into a container as he shook the container as he walked up to a medicine gun, putting the container underneath it.
"Nice, Virin." Crait was shaking. "Say "ar"." The monitor suddenly beeped, which indicated him to look at it with worry. "NO!!" He quickly ran out of the lab, going onto a smaller boat as he sailed towards the dragon. "It's official. I've lost my mind." He muttered.
As he looked at the unconscious Virin, he muttered, "Stop staring at me like that..." He got up inside the mouth of the dragon, shaking violently as he aimed at the throat inside Virin's mouth. "W-well, medicine is supposed to tast bad. N-No hard feelings, okay?" He fired the medicine, which exploded at it touched the tongue of the drake, as he started to lift himself up. Crait was lucky; he fell into the small boat he sailed to get there. Virin now stood up, tall and mighty, as he gave a growl of appreciation to the scientist.
"Y-You're welcome." Crait shakingly accepted the growl. Virin heard his friends' screams as he looked at the giant worm, getting ready for devouring them. Virin sprung into action, knocking the worm back as Riley cheered for him.
"No one messes with the Big Guy!" Riley cheered. Virin and the giant worm fought ferociously, with neither of them giving an inch. Virin tail slapped into the worm's side, sending it down to the beach, with the dragon jumping down as he followed it.
The giant worm bit onto Virin's tail, getting a roar of annoyance and pain at the same time. Virin kicked into the worm's side, getting it off as he rammed into the worm, sending it into the cliffside.
Up on the top of the cliff, the group of nine cheered for the dragon as it battled the worm. Virin rammed into the worm's side again, sending it into the cliffside once again, before tail slapping into its side. The worm roared, biting onto the dragon's tail, earning a roar of annoyance again as the drake glared at the worm.
From up above, bullets of fire was heard. The monsters, however, ignored them entirely. From the corner of his eyes, Virin saw the same missile as before when the military first used it on him and the worm, with the latter gaining more height.
"This traitor and her friends will no longer be tolerated." The general said as he watched the group of nine struggle against his men's grip. He pulled the controllers, aiming straight at the two giants' fight.
"You don't understand!" Sunset struggled. "Your bio-weapon, it's only FEEDING that thing!"
"SILENCE!" The general shouted angrily to the light amber girl. Monique got free of the two soldiers' grip, and ran for the controllers of the missile, before getting caught again. Riley gritted his teeth, before getting free of the soldiers' grip as he ran to grab a rock.
"Riley!" Monique shouted. "Don't do anything stupid!" However, to her surprise, he threw a rock at the controllers, as the missile was now aiming at nothing but the blue sky, launching into the sky. The general cursed with bad words in his French language, which was unable to be understanding to the group.
Hearing a roar of fury, the general, his soldiers, and the group looked at the battle going on. Virin fired his blue warming breath at the worm, while rounding the large rock he walked around, minimizing the worm as it grew back into a tiny worm. Virin sniffed it, before walking away. The little worm burrowed into the ground, fleeing from the scene.
Walking up to the soldiers, Virin gave a hostile roar as the soldiers ran for the hills, grabbing their fallen general as he laid unconscious on the ground. Riley cheered again.
"Never bet against the Big Guy!" He cheered, as Virin walked back into the ocean, laying dormant to it once again.
"There's definitely something I want to talk to my Father about this when we get home." Sunset noted as the group agreed as they walked back down to the beach, being greeted by Crait. "Nice one, Crait. Thanks for helping my friend."
"What can I say?" Crait replied proudly. "I'm a changed man. With everything now going back to normal, there's nothing that can scare this changed scientist. Not even a blink." From behind him, Virin resurfaced as he let out a roar, frightening Crait as he blinked.
"Hey, guys." Rarity called out, giving a blink. "He just blinked." The group laughed at the "changed" scientist, who just grumbled in response.
Author's Note
Finally got this chapter out. This was a bit challenging, but I made it. And right when the new year arrived.
How'd you like the pacing I did for these three chapters? Was it good or bad? Let me know in the comments.
