But then a lavender alicorn by the name of Twilight Sparkle approached me bravely and introduced herself and the town which was called Ponyville. I told her my name and the reason for my arrival. Twilight understood that I hadn’t come here to harm anyone and she led me to a purple crystal castle on the outside of town. There, I met her friends, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. I greeted them warmly and they did so in return. I then learnt that they were the bearers of the Elements of Harmony and that Twilight was the Princess of Friendship. I then told them of what I was, where I came from and why I was there. Later that night, Pinkie Pie hosted a welcome party for me which I was very thankful for. The ponies that were invited were still very hesitant at my presence, but when they saw me being friendly to the Mane 6 they understood I was a kind and harmless fellow. I have been in Ponyville for two months now and during that time I have my own house, my ship stored in a hangar that had been constructed by the rulers of Equestria; Princess’s Celestia and Luna, and the ponies have gotten to know me quite well. It was a glorious sunny day and I was taking a stroll through the market square. I was wearing a blue buttoned-up shirt, black jeans and Chelsea boots. Yes, Rarity, being the Element of Generosity had designed me a whole wardrobe which meant I didn’t have to wear my Guardian Armour. As I walked, mares and stallions were giving me greetings and smiles and I returned them kindly. I got to the edge of the market and then I got another greeting, “Hi Barnaby,” said an angelic voice from somewhere by my feet. I looked down and found the smiling faces of three fillies, Applebloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle or the Cutie Mark Crusaders as they’re called. “Hello there youngsters,” I replied, crouching down to their level and stroking their manes, “What are you three up to then?” I asked. Before any of them could answer, we were interrupted by something rather unpleasant, “Oooh look,” came a prissy voice that the C.M.C and I had no trouble recognizing, “The blank flanks are making friends with the hairless monkey,” We turned around to see two fillies approaching. One was pink and wore a silver tiara and the other one was grey with a silver mane and tail and was wearing a pearl necklace and bright blue glasses. Locally known to us as the Gruesome Twosome of Ponyville Primary, Oh great, a rich snob invasion, I thought, rolling my eyes in annoyance, “Leave us alone Diamond Tiara,” Scootaloo hissed angrily, “Oh please,” the other filly known as Silver Spoon replied, “When are you losers going to accept that you have no talents and are clearly a waste of space?” Applebloom was about to reply when I stepped in, “Let me handle this girls,” I whispered. I stood up and glared down fiercely at the two stuck up fillies, “You two have a lot of nerve to act offensively towards a form you haven’t seen before,” I began, “But don’t you have something better to do then being spoilt and horrid to these three?” I then asked with slight anger in my voice. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon snickered to each other, “Those blank flanks have no talents or skills, they should be sent to live in the Everfree Forest with the flightless chicken’s dead parents,” Diamond spat venomously. I realised they were both referring to Scootaloo and I looked at her with worry. The little pegasus’s eyes were filling up with tears and Sweetie Belle and Applebloom were scowling at the pink filly. They’ve really gone and done it this time, I rounded on the two spoilt fillies, “So you think,” I snarled, beginning to lose my temper, “Just because your father is the richest stallion in Ponyville and the fact that you both have your cutie marks, means that you have the right to push over these three fillies over and then walk all over them like a pair of spoilt brats!?” My fists had curled up and were now shaking with anger, "Yeah,” Diamond sneered, “All three of them are useless at everything.” This was too much for me to handle, “WELL YOU DON’T!” I snapped back. This made Diamond and Silver cringe in fright, but I wasn’t done yet, “These three are full of determination, confidence and potential. They have their whole lives to find their special talents and they’re not going to be held back by a pair of snobby, spoilt, stuck-up, good for nothing, selfish little brats like you two!” As I was saying this, I was advancing on the two fillies, who were shrinking back with terror in their eyes, “Now get out of my sight before I kick you out,” I commanded. The two fillies both turned tail and ran off crying and bawling, “And why don’t you go and get some medicine for your bad attitudes while you’re at it?” I called after them. This made the two fillies cry harder and they scampered home with their tails between their legs. I turned to look at Sweetie Belle and her friends who were just sitting there with wide eyes and hanging mouths, “You three okay?” I asked with concern, “That was… BRILLIANT!” Sweetie Belle squeaked suddenly, running over and hugging my shin, “Yeah, ya’ll sure showed ‘em,” Applebloom added, hugging my other shin, “Alright, alright easy there fillies,” I said with a laugh. They released their grip and I bent down to stroke their manes. I looked up and noticed Scootaloo still looking upset. I walked over to the pegasus filly and sat down beside her, “You alright Scootaloo?” I asked. She looked back at me with teary eyes, “Diamond Tiara’s right, I am a flightless chicken,” she sobbed. I gave Scootaloo a warm smile, “Don’t listen to them, you’ll fly eventually,” I replied kindly. The filly looked at me with hopeful eyes, “Do you really think so?” she asked cheering up. I looked at her with a grin. “I don’t think so,” I chuckled, “I know so,” the filly’s face cracked into a huge smile and she pulled me into a hug, “Oh thank you!” she squealed, “I’m going to the best flyer I can be,” she said confidently, “I’m sure you will,” I replied with a laugh. Scootaloo released her grip and I stood up. I then smiled down at the three fillies, “Right,” I said, “I have to go now fillies, I have something important to do today,” The Cutie Mark Crusaders grinned back at me, “Thanks for teaching Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon a lesson,” Sweetie Belle said, “No problem,” I replied, “After what they’ve been through, I don’t think they’ll be tormenting you three again anytime soon,” Applebloom and Scootaloo gave me their thanks and the three fillies ran off to Sweet Apple Acres. I stared after them with a smile, Those three really know how brighten my day, “I didn’t know you were that friendly,” said a feminine voice. I turned around and saw a magenta coloured mare with a raspberry coloured mane and three smiling flowers as her cutie mark, “Hello Cheerliee,” I said with a smile, “What brings you this way then?” I asked. Cheerliee gave me the same smile, “I saw you talking to Applebloom and her friends and then Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon showed up,” she explained, “I saw the anger in your eyes Barnaby. I was going to give those two fillies a good telling off, but you did it for me,” “I did didn’t I,” I laughed, “The thing is though Cheerliee,” I went on, “Back on my planet, there was an old saying; “The best defence is a good offence.” And that had to be used towards Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon,” “Wow. You do have quite a big history,” she smiled and we both laughed again, “Barnaby?” Cheerliee asked, “Yeah?” I asked my attention now on her. I saw her cheeks turn red slightly when she said my name, “I was wondering if you wanted to come to the school sometime next week and tell the fillies and colts about yourself. What it’s like being you and what your life was like before you came here,” As soon as she said that, a frown appeared on my face and I must’ve done a good job on showing it because Cheerliee grew concerned. “Are you okay?” she asked kindly putting a hoof on my shoulder. I gazed into her eyes. She was worried about me, so I decided to tell the truth, “Yeah I’m fine,” I replied, the frown still not leaving my face, “What’s bothering you?” Cheerliee asked, “You can tell me,” “Well, the thing this, I don’t like to look back on my past,” I explained, “Before I left my world, something really horrible happened and even though it happened a long time ago, when I think about it today I get these horrible flashbacks and nightmares,” Cheerliee listened carefully while I explained my situation and then her face fell, “Well, if you feel uncomfortable about it then I won’t force you into doing it,” she said with a warm smile. I looked into her caring eyes and I could tell that she would like to hear about my past, “I’ll do it,” Cheerliee was surprised, “You sure you’re okay with it?” she asked, “I don’t want to be a burden or anything,” “I’ll be fine,” I assured her, “Besides; those foals might learn an interesting thing or two. I know for fact that they would like to learn more about me,” I grinned. Cheerliee continued to ponder over this, but she looked at me and knew that I was going to conquer a forbidden task, “Well if you’re happy to do it, then what day will you come in?” she asked slowly, “How about we save it for the end of the week?” I suggested, “It’ll be a little surprise for them won’t it,” Cheerliee had a little think and then she nodded, “That’ll be excellent,” she smiled. While we had been talking, Celestia’s sun was beginning to sink behind the horizon, “Is that time already?” I asked, looking at my watch, “So it would seem,” I gave a light chuckle and looked at the magenta mare in front of me with a smile, “Right I have to go now Cheerliee, I’ll see you next Friday afternoon then,” Cheerliee smiled back, “Okay Barnaby, I hope you have a happy Hearts and Hooves Day tomorrow,” I stared dumbstrucked at her, “Hearts and Hooves Day is tomorrow!?” I asked. Cheerliee looked confused, “Ummm… Yes. Did you not know that?” “I did know that yes, I just haven’t prepared for what I’m going to say to my future special somepony,” I explained my face heating up. Cheerliee only gave me a warm smile, “Who are you going to ask?” she asked. I looked around to make sure that we were alone and then I explained, “Do you know the two mares that run the Ponyville Day Spa?” I asked. Cheerliee nodded in reply, “Well I’m going to ask Lotus Blossom’s twin sister, Aloe to be my special somepony,” I finished. Cheerliee smiled again, “I hope it goes well for you Barnaby. Aloe is a very lovely mare; you two would make a nice couple,” I smiled back, “Thanks Cheerliee, I hope so too,” We said our final goodbyes and headed home. On my way back, I passed by the spa that had closed down for the day. I gazed at it for a short while, Oh Aloe; I would love to spend every day with you, I continued on my way home, the sun was now disappearing behind the mountains sending the sky into ablaze of red, orange and pink. Behind me, the stars were coming out and Luna’s moon was making its presence known in the darkening sky. Later that night, I was lying in bed after a meal of daisy sandwiches and hay fries and a nice hot shower. I gazed out of the window at the majestic night sky and sighed, Okay, I’m going to go to that spa tomorrow and ask Aloe to be my special somepony, Nothing more was said after that, I turned out the lamp and went to sleep, thinking about the day ahead. Author's Note If you guessed that Aloe Blossom was the pony that our Guardian was going to be in love with, then The Storm is clearly with you. First proper chapter finished. Chapter 3: When The Storm calms, Love is foreseenNext day, Hearts and Hooves Day dawned bright and sunny. I had gotten up early and had a good breakfast and another shower to calm my nerves. Today was the day I was going to ask Aloe Blossom to be my special somepony. I was on my way over to the spa now and ponies (mostly mares) were giving me warm greetings, “Happy Hearts and Hooves Day Barnaby!” Lyra and Bon-Bon called out, “Right back at you girls,” I replied with a smile, “I hope you’re having a nice day Barnaby,” Lily Valley said as I passed by her flower stand, “Same to you Lily,” I returned kindly. I then came across Applejack’s stand where the southern pony was selling her home grown apples, “Morning Applejack,” I greeted, “Mornin’ Barns, ya’ll lookin’ fine and dandy today,” the farm pony replied. “So do you,” I said. Applejack grinned back, “What can ah get ya then partner?” she asked in that southern accent. I gazed at her apples that were on display for sale that day, “I’ll take one apple please,” I said reaching for my wallet, but Applejack stopped me, “Don’t worry ‘bout payin’ it’s on the house as its Hearts and Hooves Day,” she explained. I smiled at her as she reached one of her reddest and juiciest apples, “Thanks A.J,” I said taking the apple, “Have a nice day,” I added politely, “You too,” Applejack replied with a grin. I took my leave and continued on to my destination eating the apple. Soon I came to the edge of the market and the Ponyville Day Spa was right in front of me, This it, no turning back now, I took a few deep breaths and made my way to the entrance of the spa. I opened the door of the spa and walked inside, the familiar smells of perfume and fragrances reaching my nose as I entered the lobby. Recently, I’ve been accompanying Rarity and Fluttershy on their spa dates and I’ve been impressed by Lotus and Aloe’s services, their hooves are like magic when it comes to a massage. I may have the ability to use one of the most powerful forces of nature to defeat hordes of enemies, but it can’t match the way the spa ponies serve their massages. Anyway, I continued on through the lobby and arrived the reception desk where I was greeted by Lotus. The beautiful cerulean pony looked me with her azure eyes, “Hello Lotus,” I smiled. The sky blue mare gave a slight gasp when she saw me, but returned the smile none the less, “Hi,” she greeted in her European accent, “Are you here for your usual service, no?” she asked brightly, “I’m afraid not,” I replied, “I’m here for something rather unusual,” Lotus blinked her mesmerizing eyes, “Anything I can help with?” she asked, eager to be of service. Not wanting to delay any further progress, I cut right to the chase, “I’ve come to visit your sister Aloe to ask her something important,” I explained calmly, “Is she around at all?” It didn’t take long for Lotus to put two and two together. She gave me a warm smile, “Yes, she’s just servicing client, she’ll be finished soon. I’m glad you’ve asked,” she replied. I raised an eyebrow in confusion, “Why are you glad?” I asked. Lotus giggled slightly, “Well, Aloe has secretly told me that she would like you to be her special somepony and she’s been hoping that you will come today and ask her,” Lotus explained all the while her smile not leaving her face. My mouth dropped open in surprise, This is a very much unexpected turn of events, but it makes it a whole lot easier, “That’s quite funny,” I chuckled, “Because I’ve come to do just that,” Lotus giggled in response, but the next thing she said made my heart beat a hundred times faster than it did when I entered my very first battle back home, “I will go and get her for you,” she smiled. I did everything I could to remain calm, “Okay Lotus, I’ll wait out here,” I replied. The sky blue mare giggled again and disappeared into the massage room, No backing out of this now, I breathed deeply to calm every nerve in my being. A few moments later, I heard hoofsteps behind me and turned in time to see Lotus coming back with Aloe by her side. As soon as the rose coloured mare saw me, she gasped softly and a slight blush appeared on her cheeks. Aloe approached me slowly while I stood my ground trying to not to act too nervous. Aloe then gazed up at me with her wonderful azure eyes and I couldn’t help but sigh. I gave my head a little shake and made my move, “Hi Aloe,” I greeted warmly. The pink mare gave me a kind smile, “Hello Barnaby, it’s so nice to see you,” she replied politely in her European accent, “It’s nice to see you as well,” I answered back with a smile, It’s now or never, I threw caution to the wind and went on with my request, “Aloe, can I ask you something?” I asked with calm in my voice. A small blush reappeared on her cheeks and she nodded slowly, “W-would you like to be my special somepony?” I asked as smoothly and positively as I could. Aloe gazed back at me for a moment, but then a happy smile appeared on her lovely face, “Yes Barnaby,” she replied sweetly, “I would love to be your special somepony,” I couldn’t have asked for a better result. Aloe wrapped her pink hooves around my chest and we brought our faces closer together and our lips met for the very first time. Aloe’s lips were soft and smooth and tasted of the finest perfume that could ever be made. I ran my left hand through her silky blue mane and my right hand massaged her velvet like fur, earning soft pleasurable moans out of the pink mare. Aloe ran her hooves through my hair and massaged the skin on my neck and back. It truly was a glorious moment in all my life of being a Guardian. And then it ended. We broke the kiss and took in some much needed air. I gazed into Aloe’s azure eyes and she looked back into mine with the most adorable smile I had ever seen, “I love you Aloe,” I softly spoke, “I love you too Barnaby,” she replied self heartedly. We had another quick kiss and Aloe nuzzled her soft cheek against my freshly shaven one before we released our embrace. For the whole time, Lotus was watching us with a happy smile on her face and she quietly giggled when we turned to look at her, “Aloe, I think you should spend the rest of the day with your special somepony,” she told her sister kindly. Aloe smiled back at her twin, “Thank you Lotus. Are you sure you’ll be okay without me?” she asked with a slight concern in voice, “I’ll be fine,” Lotus assured, “Now go and have a romantic time with him,” Aloe trotted over to her sister and they shared a loving hug with each other, They really do care about each other, don’t they, I thought as I watched with a smile. The spa ponies ended their cuddle and Aloe returned to my side with a beaming smile on her face. Her and I made our way to the door and before I left the lobby, I glanced over my shoulder at Lotus, “I’m going to take good care of your sister Lotus,” I promised, “I’m going to do all I can to make her happy and not let her heart break,” Lotus smiled back at me, “Thank you Barnaby, you two are going to be a lovely couple,” she replied kindly. We bid each other farewell, and I left the spa to see Aloe waiting for me. She trotted up to me and wrapped me in a loving hug, “So what are going to do?” she asked happily after she let go of me, “I don’t know, what do you want to do?” I replied with a smile, “I don’t know, what do you want to do?” Aloe shot back. We looked at each other for brief moment and then we both laughed. After we calmed down, I offered to take Aloe to a little beauty spot that I had found with a picnic and I also wanted to share something with her. Aloe agreed and we went back to my house to prepare for our date. We got the picnic ready and on the way out the door, I picked up my guitar that I brought from Earth. On the way to the location, Aloe asked me what was in the large case that I had slung over my shoulder, “Wait and see,” I told her which made her blush. After half an hour, we arrived at our destination. It was a lush green hill that over looked Ponyville and the flowing river and waterfall that ran nearby. After a picnic of daisy sandwiches, apples, some potato chips and a slice of cake from Sugarcube Corner, Aloe and I were sat watching Celestia’s sun sink behind the horizon. I turned to look at Aloe with a smile. She looked stunning, the sun was dancing on her sky blue mane and her azure eyes glistened. I then decided to share what I had planned with my special somepony, “Aloe, I would like to share something with you,” I said as I undid the zip on my guitar case, “Oh?” she asked with interest. I then brought out my midnight blue guitar and showed it to her, “This is a guitar,” I explained, “I brought it from Earth. You can create music by pulling on these strings,” I did a C cord and Aloe sighed happily at the sound, “That sounds wonderful,” she replied with a warm smile. I chuckled in reply, “I’m glad you like it, because I’m going to do a little song for you,” I said with a grin, “Awww, you’re so sweet,” Aloe replied kissing my cheek. I got the guitar in a comfy position on my lap and I began to play. At first, Aloe was amazed at the way fingers flexed and bent to pull and pluck at the strings, but then her attention averted to me when I started singing a song that my father taught me. After 5 minutes of playing, I finished the song and put my guitar down and as soon as I did that, Aloe embraced me in an affectionate hug, “Awww, that was lovely sweetie,” she cooed softly, “You have such a beautiful voice,” she added kindly. I chuckled at her reaction, “Thank you Aloe,” I replied, “Believe me when I say this though, my singing voice cannot compare to the way you look at the moment,” I said with all honesty. Aloe looked me with a little twinkle in her eye. I continued to smile as I spoke with all my heart, “I’m serious Aloe, you look absolutely amazing in this light,” A small blush appeared on the pink mare’s cheeks and she pulled me in for a deep and passionate kiss. We broke apart and we gazed into each other’s eyes for a few moments. “I love you Barnaby,” Aloe spoke softly, “I love too Aloe,” I replied, “So very much,” We had another kiss and basked in each other’s warm embrace for a few moments. Then Aloe placed her hooves on my chest and gently pushed me over so I was lying on my back with her on top of me, “What are you doing?” I asked. Aloe smiled down at me with her azure eyes and giggled softly, “Seeing as you did that song for me, I’m going to share something with you now,” she replied, batting her eyes at me, “And what might that be, I wonder?” I questioned. Aloe then lowered her head and spoke softly into my ear, “My love and compassion for you,” She brought her face closer to mine and I prepared for what I thought was going to happen, but it didn’t. Aloe started peppering my face with soft, sweet and gentle kisses. She planted some on my cheeks, forehead, neck and last, but not least my lips which I returned gracefully. She lifted her head up and we smiled at each other. The sun was almost behind the horizon now, and the stars and moon were starting to emerge in the inky blackness of night behind us. Aloe then reached into the picnic basket and retrieved a bottle of body oil and then looked back at me with her eyes glistening. “Would you like a private massage?” she asked softly. A small smile appeared on my face and I leaned up to give her a quick peck on the lips, “Be my guest,” I replied. Aloe gave me the bedroom look as I unbuttoned my shirt and removed it in front of her. The pink mare’s eyes glazed over my muscular chest with a dreamy smile. I then layed on my stomach on the blanket and Aloe sauntered up beside me and looked into my eyes with the same smile adorning her beautiful face, “Are you ready handsome?” she cooed in her European accent. A small blush made its presence on my cheeks, “Go ahead beautiful,” I replied confidently. A blush similar to mine formed on Aloe’s muzzle as she lowered the bottle of oil towards my exposed skin. I flinched slightly when the cold oil met my spine, but when Aloe’s hooves started massaging it into my shoulder blades I melted underneath one of the most amazing talents in the land. “Oooohhhh wow,” I exclaimed in surprise. Aloe giggled at my reaction, “That feels good, no?” she asked. I looked at her with a smile, “Feels good?” I replied, “Are you kidding? It feels amazing. It’s one of the greatest things about you and your sister Aloe. Trust me when I say this, this is a talent you should be proud of. I may be able to control a lighting storm, but that power really can’t match what your magical hooves are doing right now,” I explained. Aloe giggled in reply, “Awww, you are such a sweet person Barnaby,” she said craning down and kissing my cheek affectionately, “That's because I love you Aloe,” I returned kind heartedly, “And I love you as well,” Aloe said with another giggle. Nothing more was said after that. For the next 10 minutes, I relaxed under Aloe’s amazing talent. When the massage was over, we sat and watched the last of the sun disappear behind the horizon cuddling each other. When the darkness of night filled up the entire sky, I turned to look at Aloe with a smile, “Do you want to stay with me tonight?” I asked. The pale rose coloured mare gazed at me with her azure eyes and she kissed me on the lips, “Yes. I would love to crawl into bed with you and cuddle you all night,” she replied. I chuckled at her answer and we shared one final kiss before packing up our picnic things. I tucked the basket and blanket under my arm and picked up my guitar and then I walked back to Ponyville with Aloe by my side. Author's Note Hello again viewers. Hope you enjoyed this chapter. (Can't put the lyrics because of the rules) Chapter 4: A Storm is summoned and an Old Memory returnsOur walk back home was a very pleasant one underneath Luna’s majestic moon and stars. We got to my house and Aloe helped me unpack the picnic basket. I then went out to take off my shoes and as soon as I stood up from taking off the last one, I immediately felt a familiar pair of pink hooves embrace me from behind followed by an affectionate nuzzle on my cheek and a soft sigh. “I love you Barnaby,” Aloe said happily, “I love you too Aloe,” I replied turning around in her embrace and gently pulling her in for a kiss. Our lips met in the comfort of love and happiness and Aloe ran her hooves along my back and neck while I caressed her velvet like fur and combed my hand through her silky blue mane, earning soft moans from the pink mare. We broke apart and gazed into each other’s eyes for a moment, “Aloe, after that massage I think I should return the favour,” I decided, “You don’t have to do anything for me, I have you. Your love for me is the only thing I need,” Aloe replied kissing my cheek. I sighed happily from her touching words, but I still thought I had to give her something in return after the massage, “Aloe, I really do think I should give you something in return,” Before the rose coloured mare could reply, I gently picked her up and carried her bridal style to the bedroom. Aloe gave a soft gasp and wrapped her hooves around my neck, “What are you doing Barnaby?” she asked with a giggle. I grinned back at her and said, “You’ll see,” When we got to my bedroom, I rolled Aloe out of my arms so she was lying on her belly on the bed. She looked at me with a playful smile, “Now will you tell me what you’re up to?” she quizzed with a laugh. I continued to grin at her and pulled the bottle of body oil out of my pocket, “Just returning the favour,” I replied. Aloe was about to reply, but stopped mid-sentence when the cold oil touched her back and I started massaging her. “Ooohhhh, mmmm, that feels wonderful,” she moaned happily. I chuckled at her reply and continued kneading the oil gently into her back and loosening up her muscles. I brought my hands down to her lower back just above her cutie marks and began soothed the oil into her hips. Next, I went a little lower and lightly massaged her flanks which earned more pleasurable moans out of my special somepony, “Ooohhhh you are so good at this,” Aloe exclaimed happily, “I try to do the best I can for the ones I love,” I replied smoothly. Even though Aloe’s face was partly hidden, I could tell she was blushing. After I was done with the top half of her body, I followed the path down her hind legs and towards her hooves. I moved back up towards her waist and went back down to repeat the process a couple of times. Feeling pleased with my handiwork, I stood up and smiled down at the relaxed pony on the bed, “How was that then”? I asked. Aloe rolled over and took my hand between her forelegs and pulled me onto the bed. I landed beside her and she got on top of me and gave the bedroom look again, “It was heavenly,” she cooed and she kissed me on the lips which I returned warmly. We pulled away and gazed at each other lovingly. I turned to look at my alarm clock on my bedside table and saw it was nearing to 11:00. I looked back at Aloe who was giving the cutest smile I had ever seen, “Shall we turn in for the night?” I asked at last. Aloe nuzzled my cheek in the most affectionate way, “Okay,” she agreed, “I need my very special somepony to cuddle with tonight anyway,” she cooed softly. We smiled at each other and then we got ready for bed. After I had changed into my bed wear and had finished washing in the bathroom, I went back to my bedroom to see Aloe lying in bed on her side. The rose coloured mare was giving me that sultry look again and she had removed her headband because her silky blue mane was spilling across her back and chest like a sparkling blue waterfall. Her azure eyes followed me as I crossed the room to the bed and layed down beside her. We smiled at each other before leaning in for a kiss, “I love you Aloe,” I said, “I love you too Barnaby, my special somepony,” she replied softly. We had one final kiss and Aloe cuddled up beside me before I turned out the bedside light and we both wondered of to the world of sleep. The next morning, I woke up to the sight of Aloe snuggled up against me with her hooves draped over my chest. I smiled at her before kissing her on the cheek. Deciding to let her sleep, I climbed out of bed and got dressed quietly without waking her and went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the two of us. I was just whisking eggs in a bowl when I heard movement behind me and a pair of hooves wrapped around my chest which was followed by happy sigh that I had no trouble recognizing. “Morning Aloe,” I greeted kindly, “Morning sweetie,” she replied kissing my cheek, “Why didn’t you wake me?” she asked, “Because you looked so peaceful lying on the bed, so I decided to prepare breakfast for us,” I explained showing Aloe the whisked eggs and turning around to look at her with a grin, “Awww, aren’t you the sweetest one,” Aloe smiled. “I try,” I chuckled. I pulled her in gently for quick kiss and a cuddle. At that moment, there was a loud knock on the front door, Who could that be? I wondered, letting go of Aloe, “Can you just excuse me a second?” I asked, “Of course,” Aloe replied kindly. I smiled at her and went to answer the door. I opened the door to find a rather annoyed looking Rainbow Dash standing there. “Morning Rainbow, what are you doing here?” I asked. The cyan pegasus looked up at me, “I need your help,” she replied, “Sure, what’s the problem?” The look on Rainbow’s face went from hopeful to disgruntled, “There’s this new unicorn in town by the name of Trixie,” Rainbow replied. I raised my eyebrow confusingly, “Ooookay, what about her?” I asked suspiciously. “Oh she keeps calling herself “The Great and Powerful Trixie” and goes on about how she is the most talented unicorn in Equestria and that her magic can’t be matched by any other unicorn,” Rainbow explained. My forehead furrowed at this information, “Well that’s just stupid, because she’s not the most talented unicorn, Twilight is. She’s a princess for crying out loud” I replied. Rainbow sighed in annoyance, “I know, but Twilight doesn’t want to show of her magic because she thinks she’ll be showing off as well. So I thought… that maybe… you could teach Trixie a lesson with your awesome powers,” she said beginning to blush. I smiled at the rainbow-maned pegasus, “I’ll be very happy to Dash. I hate people who think they’re better than everybody else,” Rainbow’s face cracked into a huge smile, “Thanks Barns, let’s go show Trixie who’s boss,” she said with smirk. I nodded my head agreement and then I concentrated on my ability and then there was a bright flash and next moment I standing before Rainbow in my blue and silver Guardian Armor, “Let’s do this,” I said. I then activated my gliding ability and flew towards Ponyville Town Square with Rainbow flying alongside me. When we got to the town square, there was a crowd of ponies gathered round a blue unicorn mare with a brighter blue mane and tail. Rainbow and I circled around the performance and landed quietly on the roof of a house behind the stage. From there, we could hear what Trixie was saying to the on viewers, “The Great and Powerful Trixie is the most talented unicorn in Equestria. Trixie has magic that no one can possibly match, but let’s put that theory to the test shall we?” she boasted to the crowd, “So, is there anything you ponies can do that The Great and Powerful Trixie can’t do?” she sneered. “Yes, when was the last time you saved an entire planet from a full scale invasion?” I called out. The crowd gasped at my sudden appearance and even Trixie was surprised when she saw me in my Guardian Armor, but she kept her cool though, “The Great and Powerful Trixie demands to know who you are!” she shouted back. I activated my glide and flew down and landed at the end of the stage. “My name is Barnaby Abbott and I’m a Guardian,” I announced, “Trixie doesn’t have time to talk with the likes of you,” she replied with a glare. I only smiled behind my silver visor, “Okay then, we’ll have a duel,” I declared coolly. Trixie raised an eyebrow in confusion, “What kind of duel?” she asked. “Simple,” I answered, “We match my Stormcaller powers against the magic of The Great and Powerful Trixie,” I explained. Trixie thought for a moment before looking back at me with a menacing smirk, “Alright, let’s do it,” she agreed. The crowd of ponies gasped at what was about to take place. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see that we had the attention of the entire town, including Twilight and her friends, but more importantly; Aloe. She was looking right at me with worry in her eyes. I looked back at Trixie to see her charging magic into her horn, Time to call in the storm, I threw my hands into air and focused my mind. I could feel Arc light flowing through me and there was black cloud forming around me. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning came charging down into my veins and enveloped my body in its power. When the dark cloud cleared, I was hovering a few inches of the ground with my armor alive with electricity and miniature lightning bolts coming out of my fingertips. The crowd and Trixie were standing with hanging jaws at the sight of me. It then occurred to me that this was going to be the very first time that Ponyville was going to witness the powers of a Guardian. A determined smile appeared behind my helmet and I looked back at Trixie who was still staring dumbstruck at me. “Ready when you are Trixie,” I chortled. Trixie gave her head a little shake. She lowered her fully charged horn and shot a beam of magic straight at me. I was quick to react; I pulled out my Guardian sword and blocked the beam with an Arc shield. The beam evaporated into the shield and vanished. Full of determination, I charged some power into the sword and launched a swirling vortex of lightning at Trixie which sent her into a world of electric shocks. When it ended, the blue mare was lying slumped on the ground with her main and tail standing on end and black scorch marks on her body. I gazed down at her with triumph, “Trixie gives up,” she mumbled. I powered down my armor and removed my helmet to meet her eyes, “Do you really?” I asked. Trixie slowly stood up, “Yes,” she replied. But then a sneer appeared on her muzzle, “You may have won this duel, but you’ll never have the show-stopping powers of The Great and Powerful Trixie!” she shouted. Then she turned tail and ran off out of Ponyville. I shook my head as I watched her, I think I just did, I looked back at the crowd of ponies who were staring wide-eyed at me, “Um… Is everyone okay?” I asked hesitantly. The looks they were giving me were as though they had just seen a ghost. Eventually, the silence was broken by a light blue pegasus called Flitter, “What is that thing?” she merely asked, pointing a hoof at sword in my hand. I looked down at the crackling blade I had in my grasp and then looked back at the crowd. “This is my Guardian Sword,” I explained, “The blade is made out of the strongest metal ever known and was named as the Arc Blade back on my planet. But I call it the Bolt Caster. Why? Because what I created back there was an Arc Swirl that has such a high voltage of electricity, you will evaporate and die in Arc Light. So in other words; this is one of the most dangerous weapons ever made,” I explained. The ponies gazed fearfully at the sword. I chuckled quietly, “No need to look so worried, I don’t plan on using it on any of you,” I assured with a smile. At that point, it was Twilight’s turn to speak. “Did you really save an entire planet from being invaded?” she asked slowly. I nodded my head solemnly, “From whom?” the alicorn asked. I put my sword on my back, sat down on the stage and gave a deep sigh. I looked at the crowd who were staring at me with deep interest, “Maybe it’s time I told you all about my past,” I said softly. The ponies moved closer and sat down on their haunches. I took a deep breath to prepare myself and then I began my story. Beginning of Flashback A couple of years ago, the Solar System which is where my planet is, came under the threat of war from four armies; The Fallen, The Hive, The Vex and The Cabal. The Guardians were already loosing before the war had even began. Three of the nine planets had fallen under enemy control; Earth had been taken by The Fallen, Venus had been turned into a giant machine by The Vex and The Cabal had attacked the buried city on Mars. My father was the founder of The Guardian Tower on Earth and he knew it was only matter of time before The Four Armies attacked The Last Earth City which was where the tower was located. In the Guardian Legacy, there are three types of Guardians; The Warlocks, The Hunters and The Titans. My father sent The Titans to engage The Fallen on Earth, The Hunters to rip the power source out of The Vex on Venus and The Warlocks to blow off the heads of The Cabal on Mars. Meanwhile, the fourth army, The Hive had sucked out all the light from Earth’s moon and their leader Crota, The Son of Oryx the Taken King was behind it all. My father sent one Warlock, one Hunter and one Titan to end the life of Crota and take back the moon and that one Warlock was me. Together we called ourselves; The Stormcaller, The Nightstalker and The Sunbreaker. With our powers combined, we were able to end the life of Crota and the rest of the Hive and regain control of the moon. At the same time, the three hostile planets were back in our hands and The Solar System lived to fight another day. However, The Taken King wasn’t going down without fight. Secretly, Oryx had been retrieving the corpses of The Four Armies and was creating something that we weren’t prepared for; A fifth army called The Taken. A year or so later, The Taken sent a huge fleet of ships that was led by a superweapon called The Dreadnaught from The Rings of Saturn to Earth and launched a full scale invasion on The Guardian Tower and The Last Earth City. The Guardian Legacy fought bravely to defend our home, but the battle was lost when Oryx arrived and something very tragic happened to someone I knew. During the battle, I was fighting alongside my fellow Titan, The Sunbreaker. We were using our powers, our Guardian Swords and guns to bring down The Taken hordes. Everywhere I looked, Guardians were being defeated one after the other. Even the toughest Titan, Lord Shaxx had lost his life and the slayer was Oryx himself. I confronted that monster and I launched my most powerful attack; The Stormtrance. Endless lightning strikes fired out of my fingertips and sent huge waves of electric shocks through The Taken King. To finish him off, I pulled out my Bolt Caster and sliced off his head, to which he burnt into ashes. Even though Oryx was defeated, the battle didn’t stop. Taken minions were still coming and a group of them were heading for the briefing room where my father was. I managed to intercept the group of minions before they got there and I went to the briefing room to see if my father was alright. I arrived at the briefing room in time to see that we had been betrayed by one of our own. My father had been murdered by a sword to his chest, but it wasn’t one of a Guardian. It was the Blade of Darkness and it had been wielded by The Nightstalker; the hunter that had fought alongside us on our mission on the moon. His once brightly coloured armor was now a ghostly shadow and his face was a black mask with three glowing eyes. “TRAITOR!” I yelled at him. He looked at me and I swore an evil look appeared in his creepy eyes, “You haven’t won anything here!” he snarled, “Soon all the Guardians will be destroyed and The Taken King will rise again and darkness will spread across the galaxy!” I drew out my sword to fight him, but he vanished in a Shadow Orb, but not before shouting, “I will find you and I will kill you!” and he was gone. I looked over at my father and I noticed he was still breathing and I ran to his side. He looked up at me and gave me one final mission; “Protect the galaxy from The Taken King, go to this planet and keep it safe from his prying eyes.” He said giving me a chip with coordinates inside it, “They will not find you there,” I nodded my head and said, “I will do it. For you and The Guardian Legacy,” And that was our last words before he died. I ran back outside to find the battle-scared Guardian Tower. Everywhere I looked were the fallen forms of Guardians and Taken minions. I realized I was the very last Guardian and one thought crept into my mind; Earth had fallen. The battle was either won or lost that day. End of Flashback “So there we are,” I finished sadly, “That’s how I ended up on this planet with this mission,” I looked around at the ponies and noticed a few teary eyes from the mares and fillies. I couldn’t help letting a tear roll down my cheek at the sight of it. I felt comforting hoof on my shoulder and I looked up into the kind azure eyes of Aloe who was giving me a warm, gentle smile. The rose coloured mare wrapped her hooves around me and brought me into a loving embrace. We pulled back and looked at each other in the eyes before sharing a quick kiss. “Um…Barnaby?” came a voice from the crowd. I looked to see Twilight with a concerned look in her eyes, “Yeah?” “You know when The Nightstalker betrayed you and killed your father?” she asked. I nodded my head in my response, “Where is he to this day?” “To be honest, I really don’t know,” I replied slowly, “He could be anywhere in the galaxy. All I do know is that he is out there somewhere looking for me. The Takken King has been defeated but not destroyed. When The Nightstalker finds me, he’ll do whatever it takes to kill me and when he does, Oryx will come back and he’ll shroud the galaxy in darkness,” I explained as calmly and clearly as I could. The ponies gasped in worry as a result. “Shall I send a letter to inform Princess Celestia about this?” Twilight asked, “No,” I replied shaking my head, “I don’t want any of you to worry about any of this. The Nightstalker isn’t after you or the planet, he’s after me,” I hissed. Twilight put a hoof to her chin to think of something, “Is there any way I can help you defeat him?” the alicorn pressed. “I’m afraid not, only the blade of a Guardian Sword can defeat him,” Twilight understood and nodded her head. Then came a new voice from the crowd which turned out to be another pegasus mare with lavender blue fur and blonde mane and tail called Cloud Kicker. “I can’t believe one of your own kind turned against you,” she stated with a frown, “I know,” I replied, “I knew The Nightstalker very well. He was a good friend, a brave and loyal partner and an excellent hunter,” I explained. And then a scowl appeared on my face, “Now he’s gone from to that to a deadly, cold blooded assassin and he’ll stop at nothing until he does what he needs to do,” I continued with slight anger in my voice. The ponies looked at each other, wondering what was going to become of them when Rarity spoke up, “I think it’s time we left you alone now,” she said looking at me with a kind smile. The other ponies agreed and they left to go about their daily business. I watched the crowd leave and then I got slowly to my feet. “Are you okay sweetheart?” Aloe asked. I smiled down at her, “Yeah I’m fine, I just feel like being alone for a little while,” I explained. Aloe understood and she leaned up to kiss me on the lips, “Okay. I have to return to the spa, but do come in and I’ll give you a relaxing massage,” she said kindly. I smiled at her. “Thanks Aloe, I’ll keep that in mind,” I replied. We kissed and held each other before going our separate ways. I removed my Guardian Armor and went back to my house to pick up my guitar because playing a song helps me relax. With my guitar in hand, I headed for the park. When I arrived, I sat down on a bench and stared across the lush green field that was blooming with buttercups, daisies and dandelions. A short distance away, there were three fillies playing with a ball that they were passing with their muzzles and hooves. I smiled at the sight and the perfect song that I had picked up from one of my favourite bands came into my head. After a few moments of playing, I put my guitar down and sighed happily. “That was beautiful,” said a voice. I looked down to see the three fillies smiling at me, “I’m glad you three enjoyed it,” I chuckled, “I didn’t think I’d catch your attention. From where I was sitting, you looked like you were having a lot of fun over there,” I continued. We all shared a laugh with one another. After we had calmed down, I got introduced to the three fillies; the cherry red unicorn was Berry Punch’s little sister, Ruby Pinch. The creamy yellow pegasus with the aqua blue mane was Alula and the sun coloured earth filly was Sunny Daze. “Would you like to play hoofball with us?” Ruby asked. I thought about anything else I could do for a moment, “Why not?,” I replied with a grin, “I could use some more entertainment,” The fillies smiled wildly and soon we were all running around knocking the ball to each other. After an hour of playing, I had the ball and was keeping it skyward with my feet, “Get him!” a voice shouted. I turned around to see the three foals charging at me, “Oh no, no, no, no, wait, wait, wait, wait…” Too late. I got playfully tackled to the ground and was lying on my back with the three fillies on top of me giggling. After they had calmed down, I looked up at them with a happy smile, “That was fun,” I said at last, “We should do this again sometime,” The fillies wore the biggest grins I had ever seen, “You’re good player Barnaby,” Alula replied, and the other two nodded in agreement. We continued to lie in grass until we waved our goodbyes and went our separate ways. I glanced up at the sky to see that the sun was slowly making its decent towards the horizon. I decided to go to the spa and have a massage from my special somepony. I arrived at the Ponyville Day Spa and went inside to see that neither Lotus, nor Aloe were at the reception desk. That’s odd, where have they both gone? Guessing they were both busy with a customer, I turned my attention to a stack of magazines in the corner of the room. I crossed over and was just reading the title of the first one when I heard movement from somewhere and a pair of hooves embraced me from behind and something warm and loving nuzzled my cheek, “You came,” said a soft voice. “Of course I did,” I replied, “How could I say no to an offer like this?” I asked, turning around and to see Aloe smiling at me, “Because you’re my special somepony and I love you,” she answered, kissing my cheek passionately, “I love you too Aloe,” I replied, kissing her on lips. We shared another loving embrace and another kiss on the lips before Aloe released me and beckoned me to follow her, “Come, your massage is waiting for you,” she said. I followed her down the hallway to a private massage room and she opened the door and I looked in to see Lotus standing by the massage table, “Hello Lotus,” I greeted the beautiful cerulean pony, “What are you doing in here?” I asked amusingly. Lotus giggled quietly, “I’m here to help my sister,” she replied. “Help?” I asked, “Help with what?” Aloe smiled at me with her azure eyes, “We’re both going to give you a massage,” she explained softly. Later that evening, I left the spa with Aloe by my side. Having massage from both her and Lotus was something I could’ve never asked for. A perfect ending to a perfect day. Author's Note There we are then viewers. Quite a tragic history for our Guardian. I'm sure Fluttershy will agree But he did show Trixie that fame and popularity isn't everything. Song for this chapter: Every Rose has its Thorn by Poison Chapter 5: A Storm gives Peace and FreedomA few days have passed since the Ponyville townsfolk learnt about my past. It was now Friday, the day the fillies and colts of this little town were due to meet me in person. I had planned ahead and decided not reveal my past for a second time, because at the end of the day when it was first revealed, I had a nightmare about it. I saw The Nightstalker plunge the Blade of Darkness deep into my father’s chest, but before he could touch me, it ended from the help of Princess Luna and Aloe. For my visit to the Ponyville schoolhouse, I had decided to show the foals my powers, the handheld weapons that I use for general combat, my guitar and tell them about some of my missions I did. The walk through Ponyville was as nice as ever; the sun was shining and I got the usual greetings from the townsfolk which I returned. When I reached the schoolhouse, I entered through the main door and headed for the classroom where I could hear a familiar voice, “Alright my little ponies,” Cheerliee was saying, “Before you all leave for the weekend, we have a visitor,” “Who is it?” came Sweetie Belle’s enthusiastic voice from somewhere in the room. Deciding that I had waited long enough, I knocked softly on the door, “Come in,” Cheerliee called out. I took a deep breath and opened the door and stuck my head in, “Hello youngsters,” I greeted with a warm smile. The whole classroom gasped at my presence, but I noticed eight familiar young faces, three of which were the Cutie Mark Crusaders, the other three were Ruby Pinch, Alula and Sunny Daze. The last two faces were the ones I wasn’t looking forward to seeing; Diamond Tiara was giving me a really cold glare which I ignored, but there was something a bit strange about Silver Spoon when I looked in her direction. Our eyes connected and I could’ve sworn a small smile appeared on the filly’s muzzle, She seems quite pleased to see me, I wonder why? Regaining focus; I stood at the front at the classroom and looked down at the amused faces of the foals, “So,” I began, “I heard that there were few of you who wanted to meet me in person, correct?” There were a number of heads nodding with excitement and enthusiasm, “Well, before we begin, there is something I would like to ask you,” I stated calmly, “How many of you were there the day I reviled my past to the rest of Ponyville?” A small number of hooves went, three of which were the CMC, “Okay, so it was only a few of you then,” I said, “That’s fine, because I just want to make it clear that I don’t want to reveal it a second time, because it does mess with my mind, if you know what I mean,” I explained carefully. I looked around the room and there were a few heads that nodded in understanding, “So what are you going to talk to us about?” Silver Spoon asked. I gave the filly a small smile at her amount of interest, “Well instead, I’m going to talk to you about my powers, the weapons I use for combat and give you a little demonstration with a couple of them, and maybe I’ll play you all a small tune with my guitar,” I explained, “But in order to do that, I need to summon my Guardian Armor,” I added. The whole class of fixated on me as I sent my storm call to my armor through my mind. Like last time, there was flash of lighting and I was standing before the foals in my silver and blue robes and my face was hidden behind my blue and white helmet. The fillies and colts were amazed at my quick change of clothing, “Where have you gone?” Sunny Daze asked with slight worry in her voice, “Don’t worry, I’m still here,” I chuckled, removing my helmet and putting it on Cheerliee’s desk. I turned to look back at the foals who were still stunned, even Diamond Tiara was sat at her desk looking dumbstruck , “So, as you can see,” I explained, running my covered hands around my body, “This is my Guardian Armor that I would wear into any form of battle. It gives you the best protection from any source of attack and comes with a built-in shield that will recharge after taking damage,” I added. “That is so cool,” a grey pegasus colt by the name of Rumble commented. I then went on to explain about my power and the weapons I use. My primary weapon was my auto rifle, the Cydonia-AR2 which I call Zero Day Dilemma, and it has a special feature that allows it to deal 20% extra damage after every enemy it defeats for a short time. My secondary weapon was my sniper rifle, the L.D.R 5001 which I call The 1000 Yard Stare. This long-range lethal gun was equipped with armor piercing rounds which can shoot through even the toughest piece of metal. After I had showed the fillies and colts my first two weapons, a little demonstration with my powers, and told them a few stories about some missions I went on across the galaxy, I moved on to my favourite weapon. “Now this,” I said, pulling my Bolt Caster from its casing on my back, “Is my Guardian sword,” All the foals eyes went wide at the sight it, “The blade is made out of the strongest metal ever created and was named as the Arc Blade back on my planet. But I call it the Bolt Caster. Why? Because what I can create when my Stormcaller is activated is an Arc Swirl that has such a high voltage of electricity, you will evaporate and die in Arc Light. So in other words; this is one of the most dangerous weapons ever made,” I explained. From the beginning of my visit through to now, every once in a while, Diamond Tiara would say a really horrible remark and it was getting on my nerves. As I turned around to put the sword on the desk, I heard her voice yet again, “Even with that thing, my daddy can still have you placed under arrest, you hairless monkey,” she sneered under her breath. Alright, that’s it. I’ve had enough, I have dealt with a lot of faults and irritations in my life, but none of them were a bigger fault or more irritating then Diamond Tiara. I then did something that goes against the Guardian Legacy; never threaten a resident of the planet you’re protecting. But I had to do it to put the spoilt filly in her place. I spun around and pointed my sword straight at her, the blade merely inches from her muzzle. The whole room went silent, “Listen you little brat!” I hissed, “I’m here to protect you and the rest of the planet from anything dangerous. But why should I protect you when every time you open your mouth, you always say something horrible and spiteful!?” I must’ve struck a nerve, because sweat was forming on Diamond’s head and her eyes were darting back and forth nervously. The filly tried to find an answer, but came up with nothing. I lowered the sword and continued to glare at her, “Diamond Tiara, I want you to go and stand outside the classroom,” Cheerliee called out, “But Miss Cheerliee…” Diamond whined, “Not buts. OUT, NOW! I’ll see you and your father after class,” Cheerliee said sternly. The pink filly left her desk and sloped miserably out the door. I looked at the rest of the class who were still gazing fearfully at me as though I was going to use my sword on them if they put one hoof out of line, “I am awfully sorry about that Barnaby,” Cheerliee said from behind me, “No, no, no. Its fine,” I assured the magenta mare with a friendly smile. I turned around and put the sword onto the desk and turned back to the class, “I’m sorry you all had to see that,” I apologized, “What I did just then was something that goes against the Guardian Legacy; never threaten a resident of the planet you’re protecting,” I explained carefully. The foals all nodded once again in understanding. I glanced up a the clock to see it was getting close towards the end of class, “Okay youngsters,” I said after powering down and crossing the room to pick up my guitar, “I’m going to end this visit with a little song,” I explained. Cheerliee moved from behind her desk and went stood by door, while I sat on the desk and started playing a song on my guitar by another one of my favourite artisits. A little later, I finished the song and the class burst into applause and just like that, the bell rang to signal the end of the day, “See you next week my little ponies,” Cheerliee called out as the class filed out. After the last foal had left, I turned to the magenta mare was giving me a warm smile, “Thank you for coming in and sharing that with us,” she said gracefully. “That’s alright Cheerliee,” I replied with a smile, “I really enjoyed doing that for all of them,” “It’s not every day we have an unusual visitor like you,” Cheerliee mused, “No, I bet it isn’t,” I chuckled and we both laughed, “Right, I better leave you to it,” “Yes, I have a certain filly to deal with,” Cheerliee replied with a frown, “I’ll be seeing you then Cheerliee,” I said heading towards the classroom door, “Bye Barnaby and thanks again,” she called out. I gave a final wave went out into the hallway and headed towards the main entrance, ignoring Diamond Tiara as I passed. I could feel her icy cold glare burrowing into the back of my head, but I carried on not daring to look back at the spoilt filly, This your undoing Diamond, not mine, A few fillies and colts were playing around when I came outside. I crossed the playground and sat down under a tree, “Hey Barnaby,” I looked to my right and saw a silver maned filly with glasses, “Hello Silver Spoon,” I replied. As soon as we made eye contact, Silver looked at the ground with a frown, “Hey, are you okay?” I asked. “I’m fine,” the filly replied, the frown not leaving her face, “Are you sure? You’re looking a little down,” Silver looked up into my eyes, “I just want to say I’m sorry about the way I treated you and Applebloom and her friends the other day,” she explained, “I made a huge mistake saying those things, but more importantly I made mistake becoming friends with Diamond Tiara. After hanging out with her, I don’t think anybody would want to become friends with me,” Throughout the explanation, tears were running down the filly’s cheeks and I couldn’t help feeling sorry for her. I picked her up and brought her in for a hug, “Don’t worry about it,” I said softly, “Everybody makes mistakes sometimes, even me,” Silver looked at me with teary eyes, “What kind of mistakes have you made?” “The way I threatened Diamond Tiara earlier was a mistake, a Guardian isn’t allowed to do that any under circumstances, but it had to be done to put that filly in her place,” I explained, “It requires a certain level of stupidity to anger a Guardian and Diamond had no trouble reaching it,” “I noticed,” Silver replied with a giggle, leaning into my shoulder. We sat there in silence for few moments listening to the peacefulness of the late afternoon. “Are you alright now?” I asked after a while, “Yes I’m fine,” I carefully placed filly down and she looked at me with her lavender eyes, “Barnaby, would you consider me as a friend?” Silver asked slowly, “Sure, what else would I consider you as?” I replied with a smile, “Really? You would like to be my friend?” “Why shouldn’t I be? You seem like a really sweet filly and…” I didn’t get to finish my sentence before Silver Spoon leapt into my arms and started nuzzling me, “Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!” she squealed placing multiple kisses on my cheek. “That’s quite alright Silver Spoon,” I laughed stroking her perfectly groomed mane. Eventually, the filly released her grip and looked at me with a sweet smile, “I have to go home now, it’s getting late,” Silver said, “Okay, I’ll see you some other time,” “Bye!” I watched the grey furred filly scamper off home with a big smile adorning her cheeks. I picked myself up and headed back home with Celestia’s sun beginning to make its slow decent towards the horizon. I got to my front door just as Luna’s moon appeared in the darkening sky behind me. I entered and removed my shoes and put them away, and then headed for the bedroom where a little surprise was waiting for me. Author's Note Hi viewers. Quite an outburst from our hero there. Still Diamond Tiara does need to know when to not to say something nasty, especially when there's a Guardian with the ability to give you an electric shock standing in the room. Song for this chapter: When you find yourself by Brad Paisley. Chapter 6: A weekend of Storms and Love“Hello sweetie,” said a soft voice. I looked over at the bed and simply smiled at what I saw. Lying there on her side was Aloe giving me that bedroom look again, “Hey Aloe,” I greeted, crossing over to the bed and lying down beside her, “What are you doing here?” I asked. The pink mare crawled on top of me and looked down at me with her azure eyes and a cute smile, “I just wanted see you, I’ve been thinking about you all day,” she replied, kissing my lips, “I’ve been thinking about you as well,” I said, kissing her back. Aloe blushed at those words and leaned into me and sighed happily, “Barnaby, I would like to spend this weekend with you. Just the two of us,” “Sure, what would you like to do?” I asked. Aloe looked at me with a little glisten in her eyes, “Princess Celestia has invited us to spend the weekend in Canterlot,” she replied. My eyes widened, “Has she really? Gosh, that’s very kind of her,” I exclaimed. Aloe giggled at my reaction, “I know. Our train is tomorrow morning and she’s booked us into the Canterlot Hotel and the Crystal Restaurant for a meal tomorrow night,” “The Crystal Restaurant? Isn’t that a really posh place for the Canterlot Elite?” I asked. Aloe’s face fell at my question, “Is everything okay?” “Yeah, it’s just that I don’t have anything suitable to wear to place like that,” But Aloe only smiled and nuzzled my cheek lovingly, “Don’t worry, I’ve taken care of that,” she said. The pink mare clambered down from the bed and beckoned me to follow her to the wardrobe. Wondering what she was getting at, I went over to the wardrobe and opened the doors. Hanging from the rack in a plastic covering was a black tuxedo with a black bow tie, white buttoned up shirt and a red rose in the jacket. There was also pair of polished black lace up shoes, “How did you get hold of this Aloe?” I asked, taking the suit from the wardrobe and laying it on the bed and looking back at the pink mare, “It’s gift I had tailored for you at Miss. Rarity’s boutique,” she replied, “I told her about our invitation to Canterlot and that you needed something to wear. She still had your measurements from when she made you your clothes, so she made you that suit along with the shoes,” she added, “Do you like it?” I walked over to her and hugged her, “It’s amazing Aloe, thank you,” I smiled, kissing her cheek, “And thank Rarity for me please when you next see her at the spa,” “You’re very welcome Barnaby,” Aloe replied, kissing me back, “So, what will you be wearing?” I asked her, “Wait and see,” Aloe whispered seductively. For the remainder of the evening, I packed up all the things I needed for our trip. Aloe was all packed and ready and she was spending the night at my house. After a meal of pasta salad, Aloe and I got ready for bed and were just cuddling each other underneath the covers, “This weekend is going to be so romantic,” Aloe whispered, “Yes it will. And it’s going to be even better because I’m spending it with you,” I replied softly, turning to look into her azure eyes. Aloe leaned in to kiss me and I returned it gracefully. We continued to smile and cuddle each other for a few more moments before I turned out the light and went off to sleep with Aloe snuggled up next me. We had an early start the following morning. We were up at 7:00am because our train was at 9:00am. After a quick breakfast and wash and one last look around to make sure we had everything, I looked the front door and Aloe and I made our way to Ponyville train station. We arrived with 10 minutes to spare. I went and bought the tickets while Aloe stood with the luggage. What we had with us were just two suitcases compared to Rarity bringing a cartload of luggage every time she went to Canterlot. I mentioned this to Aloe after I came back with the tickets and we couldn’t stop laughing at the picture of Rarity trotting ahead with Spike stumbling behind her with all her luggage. After a three hour train ride, we were met at the station in Canterlot by Princess Celestia herself. She greeted us warmly and escorted us to the hotel with two royal guards taking our suitcases. When we got to the hotel, Celestia bidded us a pleasant weekend and headed back to the castle. Half an hour later, Aloe and I were in our room which was the fanciest room in the entire building, Only a Canterlot Elite can afford to stay in room like this, I thought. There was a king size bed, a balcony overlooking the garden and a lake behind the hotel, a bathroom with a hot tub and a super deluxe shower, “So, this is one of the many perks of being a Canterlot Elite,” I pointed out, while we were unpacking, “One of them, yes,” Aloe giggled in reply. After we had unpacked, I glanced at my watch to see that we still had half of the day left before we were due at the restaurant for our meal later that evening, “Shall we take a stroll through Canterlot and have a look at the sights?” I asked the rose coloured mare. Aloe agreed and we headed out. The sights of this highly royal town were very impressive I’ll admit, but the Canterlot ponies were a whole different matter. I’ve only been to Canterlot once and that was to meet Princess’s Celestia, Luna, Cadence and Twilight’s older brother, Shining Armour, the captain of the royal guard. I only set foot in the castle on that day, the rest of the city was still new to me and so were the residents. As we wondered along the high street, I was attracting a lot of attention which I can completely understand. What was really irritating me though, was the ponies’ behaviour. The stallions I didn’t mind so much; they were giving me disapproving looks, but they shook their heads and went on their way. But the mares were the worst. They were standing in small groups and giving me cold hard glares and gossiping with one another. It was a little difficult to hear what they were saying, but I caught glimpses of things like, “That creature shouldn’t be allowed to walk the streets of Canterlot,” or, “That monstrosity should be locked away in a prison,” Aloe wasn’t fairing to well either. The mares were also aiming their horrible remarks at her as well. I wanted to do something about it, but we ignored the gossip and continued on. We went a bit further and a tall white stallion unicorn approached us. He had a blonde mane and tail and baby blue eyes and had mischievous smirk on his face. There was something I recognized about this guy, but I couldn’t figure it out what it was. I looked at Aloe and saw her scowl as the stallion came up to us, “Why hello there,” he greeted in a stuck up sort of voice. He was looking directly at Aloe and didn’t seem to acknowledge my existence, “Nice to see you Prince Blueblood,” Aloe replied, the scowl not leaving her muzzle, Blueblood, I know that name, I suddenly remembered Rarity talking about Blueblood the last time I went to the spa with her and Fluttershy. Rarity had said that Blueblood was a snotty, stuck-up stallion and mentioned how he treated her during the Grand Galloping Gala which ended in disaster apparently. After what Rarity had said, I could see what she meant about this guy, “Why don’t you leave this strange being and spend the rest of the weekend with me?” Blueblood was saying to Aloe, “No thank you,” the pink mare declined, “I’m happy spending time with this lovely gentleman for the weekend,” she added, “A gentleman? Him?” the stallion snorted, “This is the type of foul, ugly creature that should be placed behind bars. Or better still…” he added with a nasty smirk, “Executed,” “What did you say?!” I asked in an angry whisper. I could a feel a storm flowing through me and it was getting stronger, The best defence is a good offence, “I said,” Blueblood repeated still wearing that horrible smirk of his, “You should be locked behind bars or…” That was how far he got before I threw a thunderstrike at him and went flying backwards, head over hoofs before landing in a heap on the floor. His body was twitching due to the electric shocks that I sent through him. I walked over and glared down at him fiercely, “Was that meant to be a threat!? I hissed at him, “Y-you’ll regret this you… you monster,” he managed to splutter, “Yeah, well next time, think twice about judging someone before getting to know them!” I snapped, “Now take your snotty attitude and nasty comments and get lost!” I commanded. The stallion scrambled to his hooves and ran off down the street bawling like a foal, What a coward, I thought with a grin. I turned to look at the small crowd of ponies I had attracted, “The same goes for the rest of you!” I called out, pointing a menacing finger at them, “Get to know someone before you judge them!” The ponies must’ve got the point, because they all nodded nervously and went on their way. I turned to look at Aloe who was looking very surprised at what just took place. I approached her cautiously and asked her, “Aloe, are you okay?” “How did you do that?” she asked, looking up at me, “I don’t know,” I replied slowly, “I just got really angry and felt this surge of power flowing through me and then suddenly I launched my melee attack at him. I thought I had to be wearing my Guardian Armour to do that, but I don’t as it turns out,” I looked carefully into her azure eyes, “Aloe, are you sure you’re okay? You’re looking a little worried,” Aloe looked into my caring eyes and sighed, “I’m just afraid that you might do the same thing to me if I got you annoyed,” she replied softly a tear running down her cheek, I blinked my eyes in confusion, “Aloe look at me,” I said, taking her muzzle in my hands, “I would never, ever hurt you. You’re my marefriend, I love you. From now and until the day we die, I will only and always love you. I’ll never hate you or hurt you. I’ve made a promise to love you, care for you, make you happy and never let your heart break. And I’m going to keep it,” “Awww, Barnaby,” she cooed softly, “You’re such a sweetheart,” Aloe nuzzled my cheek and we smiled at one another. I stole a glance at my watch and noticed it was getting close to our meal out, “We should probably head back to the hotel and start getting ready for this evening,” Aloe agreed and we walked back the way we came. As we walked, I gave the ponies who witnessed the commotion between me and Blueblood a “Don’t mess with me or you’ll regret it” look. We got back to our hotel room with a couple of hours to spare. I realised that we were going to need a fair bit of time to prepare, so I suggested we went ahead and got ready now. “You just wait and see what I’ll be wearing for this evening,” Aloe said with a giggle, “I’ll be looking forward to it,” I replied with a grin. The pink mare crossed over to the wardrobe and received a long cardboard box. She then went over to the bathroom casting me that bedroom look of hers again. After the door had closed, I put the thought of wondering what sort of game she was playing to the back of my mind, and retrieved my suit from the wardrobe and got ready. Half an hour later, I was all dressed up and was looking at myself in the bedroom mirror. I had put some gel in my hair, brushed my teeth and washed my face and had sprayed myself with my favourite deodorant. Looking sharp Barns, I thought. I turned around to see that Aloe was still in the bathroom getting ready, “Aloe are you alright in there?” I called out, “Yes I’m fine,” came her muffled, but sweet reply. I sat down on the bed and looked at my watch. Still got plenty of time, At that point, the bathroom door opened a crack, “Barnaby, could you close your eyes for me please?” Aloe asked from behind it. Not wanting to deny a simple request, I closed my eyelids and waited patiently, “Alright they’re closed,” I replied. I heard the door open some more and quiet hoofsteps crossing towards me and coming to a halt just in front of me, “Okay sweetie, you can look now,” she cooed softly. I opened my eyes and was amazed at what I saw; Aloe was wearing a magnificent dress that was a sparkling deep blue with pale pink trimmings. On her chest was a white lotus flower with a pink outline just like her cutie mark. On her hooves she was wearing four crystal blue high heels. Her mane and tail had been neatly groomed and she wore pale pink eyeshadow, “My goodness Aloe,” I exclaimed brightly, “You look absolutely amazing,” “Thank you, you look really handsome as well,” she replied, kissing my cheek. “May I have the honour of taking you out for dinner this evening?” I asked in a posh accent, standing up from the bed. Aloe giggled quietly and she played a long as well, “Yes you may,” she replied and linked her left forehoove with my right arm. We smiled at each other and then we headed out of the hotel to the restaurant. Ten minutes later, we arrived at the Crystal Restaurant where we were greeted by a stallion unicorn with a French accent, “Bonjour monsieur. Do you have ze booking for zis evening?” he asked, “We should be under the booking by Princess Celestia,” I replied. The waiter glanced at the booking list and he smiled, “Ah yes, ze Princess told us about your arrival,” he said, “Would Monsieur and Madame like to follow me to ze table?” “After you,” I whispered to Aloe. The rose coloured mare gave me an adorning smile before following the waiter to the table with me behind her. As we went through the dining area, I took a look around and saw a grand piano up on a stage and a perfect idea came to mind, Better save that for later, I thought. We continued on and the waiter directed us to a table for two by a window overlooking the garden. Aloe and I sat down from across each other and the waiter pulled out a notebook with his magic, “What would Madame like to drink zis evening?” “May I have your finest wine, please?” Aloe asked. The stallion wrote it down and then turned to me, “And for you Monsieur?” “May I have the same thing, please?” I replied. The waiter nodded and walked away to deal with our requests. I turned and smiled at the rose coloured mare sitting across from me, “What?” Aloe asked with a giggle, “Nothing. I’m just thinking about how beautiful you look this evening,” “Oh stop, you’re making me blush,” “Good. You look cute when you blush like that,” I replied with a laugh, “Awww Barnaby thank you, you flatter me,” Aloe smiled. At that point, our waiter returned with a bottle of wine and two glasses, plus two menus. He served the wine and then went off to serve another customer. I picked up my glass and looked at Aloe who had done the same, “Here’s to a romantic evening,” Aloe started, “And to a happy future,” I finished. We clinked glasses and took sip of the ruby red liquid, “Mmmm… This wine is lovely,” I exclaimed, “Indeed it is,” Aloe agreed, “But it isn’t as lovely as you Barnaby,” she added sweetly. She placed a hoof on my hand and stroked it lovingly. I couldn’t help blushing at her words and contact, “Thanks Aloe,” We then picked up our menus and decided what we were both going to have as our meal. A little later, the waiter returned to take down our orders, “May I have Oeufs en meurette, please?” Aloe asked in a perfect European accent. The stallion wrote it down and looked towards me, “What dez Monsieur fancy for zis evening?” “May I have Coq au vin, please?” I asked in a near-perfect French accent. Our waiter took it down, picked up our menus and headed off to the kitchen. I looked at Aloe who was gazing out of the window at the ever darkening night, “Aloe?” I asked getting her attention, “Yes Barnaby?” she replied with a smile, “Do you remember that situation with Prince Blueblood we had earlier today?” The rose coloured mare nodded slowly. I noticed a small frown appear on her muzzle. Clearly, she didn’t like to talk about the big oaf we had run into, “How do you know his name anyway?” I asked hesitantly. At that question, the frown on Aloe’s muzzle vanished and it was replaced with a small smile, “Well, a little while ago he booked for an appointment at our spa in Ponyville and he requested that both Lotus and I served him. During his massage, he kept sending sexual remarks towards my sister. Lotus was getting really uncomfortable about it and I warned him to stop, but then he turned his attention towards me and did the same thing,” Aloe explained, “The scoundrel,” I muttered bitterly, “What did you do to get him to stop that time?” I asked. Aloe giggled quietly and continued her story, “Lotus and I couldn’t stand it any longer, so we both picked him up and threw him out of the spa. It was raining that day and he landed right in a muddy puddle. You should’ve seen him Barnaby,” she went on, beginning to laugh, “His coat was filthy and his mane was a mess. He stood up and ran off crying like he did today,” As soon as Aloe finished, both her and I immediately burst out laughing, “Wha-what an imbecile!” I exclaimed, between laughs. After we had calmed down, I looked at Aloe with smile, “That’s what I like to call instant karma,” I chuckled amusingly. The pink mare gave me a confused look, “What does that mean?” she asked, “It means when something bad happens to someone immediately after they’ve done something bad,” I explained, “I’ve seen it many, many times during battles back home,” “Ohhh, I see now,” Aloe replied with smile. We shared small laugh between us and at that point, our waiter came back with our meals. After half an hour of delicious French food, the waiter took away our dishes and bid us a pleasant evening. I was about to mention the bill, but then I remembered that Princess Celestia had already payed for everything. Aloe on the other hand, was getting ready to leave when I stopped her, “Aloe, before we leave, there is something I would like to share with you,” I explained, “Oh? What might that be?” she asked looking at me with a cute smile, “Well, you know I play guitar?” I asked her. She nodded slowly, “I can also play the piano as well,” I finished. Aloe gasped softly and I stood up and crossed the dining area to the stage where the jet black grand piano stood. Like earlier today, the Canterlot ponies were giving me strange looks as I sat down on the velvet stool behind the piano. I tested it by playing a few keys and by this point, the attention of the entire restaurant was on me. I stole a quick glance at Aloe who gave me an encouraging smile. The lyrics for the song I had been thinking about all evening made their way into my mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1YuGmtgkAg&index=9&list=PLD00EF84F6A3D9E94 The whole restaurant went into an uproar as soon as I finished playing the last key. I took a bow and made my way back to the table where Aloe was giving me a really sweet smile, “What did you think of that then?” I asked her with a grin, “It was beautiful,” she replied, getting up and kissing my cheek, “Are we ready to go?” I asked. Aloe nodded and I followed her through the dining area towards the exit. Ponies were giving me praises about the song and my voice as we made our way out and I thanked them for being a good audience. I got outside to find Aloe with tears running down her cheeks, She’s crying. Why? Did I do something to upset her? I wondered. I walked slowly over to the rose coloured mare with concern, “Aloe, are you alright?” I asked carefully. She looked at me for a brief moment before wrapping me in a tender loving cuddle, “I’m fine,” she replied softly, “I’m just so happy to have you as my special somepony. You’re such a wonderful person to be with and I’m thankful for it,” she finished, nuzzling my cheek in a loving manner, “You’re very welcome,” I replied with a smile, relieved that her tears were not of sadness, but of joy. We separated and shared a quick kiss before strolling through the moonlit night back to the hotel. Later, after changing out of our clothes and getting ready for bed, Aloe and I were lying under the covers in each other’s embrace, “This has been such a lovely evening,” Aloe was saying, nuzzling me, “Yes it has,” I agreed, kissing her cheek. I then thought back to when Aloe said she was happy that I was her special somepony and I remembered a quest I was never able to complete back on Earth, “Aloe, there is something I should tell you,” I said, “What is it sweetie?” she asked, her brilliant azure eyes looking up into mine, “During my time on Earth, I was never able to find that perfect someone to spend my life with and tell how much I loved them. It was a difficult quest, but I finally managed to find that person. However, before I could even say how I felt towards them, the war then began. I never saw her again after that,” I explained sadly, a lonely tear making its decent down my cheek, “Oh Barnaby, I’m so sorry to hear that,” Aloe replied quietly, nuzzling me affectionately, “Don’t worry,” I assured her, “It gets better in many ways,” “How does it get better?” the rose coloured mare asked. I smiled at her before continuing. “Well, a little while after I came here, the very first time I saw you, I just knew you were the one that was going to complete my quest that I’ve been following for so many years. At first, I was rather hesitant because we’re completely different species,” I went on, “But now when I think about it, that little difference doesn’t really matter anymore, because look at where we are now in our relationship. It hasn’t really changed anything if I’m honest,” I finished. “Awww Barnaby, that’s so sweet,” Aloe said with a smile, “After hearing you say that, I was going through the same thing before you arrived. I was trying to find the perfect stallion that would love me and make me happy. But the stallions that I asked only wanted me for one thing,” she explained, a frown appearing on her muzzle, “And what was that?” I asked, “I don’t want to talk about it, it’s rather disturbing,” Aloe replied. I nodded in understanding and the pink mare continued with her love woe that was really beginning to touch my heart, “Anyway, when you arrived in Ponyville, I somehow knew that you were going to fill the hole in my heart,” she went on, “The way you were being kind and friendly to everyone just really stood out to me. And the day before Hearts and Hooves Day, I watched you defend Miss. Rarity’s little sister and her friends from Mr. Rich’s daughter and her friend,” Aloe added with a sweet smile, “You saw me do that?” I asked, my face turning red. Aloe nodded, the smile still not leaving her face, “Yes. And I watched you comfort that little pegsaus. I heard some of the words you said to her,” Aloe continued, “It was such a heart-warming moment Barnaby, it was what made me fall in love with you,” she finished, “And that’s why you wanted me to be your special somepony,” I concluded with a grin, “Because of all those things I did and the way I looked out for others,” Aloe nodded and cuddled up next to me and nuzzled my cheek continuously while I pondered over this information, “That’s just…wow,” I was struggling for words, “I never knew doing all of that would lead to this,” “I didn’t either,” Aloe giggled, still nuzzling me. “Aloe?” I asked. The rose coloured mare stopped her nuzzling and her beautiful azure eyes looked up into mine, “Yes?” “I love you,” “I love you too Barnaby,” I swear to God that Aloe’s nuzzling never stopped throughout the rest of that night. Author's Note You thought I abandoned this didn't you? Still, another heartwarming moment between Aloe and our Guardian. Highly reccommend you have listen to that song. Anyway viewers, I think that's enough romance for now. These next couple chapters are going to include some action because that's what Destiny is all about. Stay tuned for more updates. Chapter 7: The Calm before The StormThe rest of the weekend flew by, and before you knew it, Aloe and I were on the train back to Ponyville. A few weeks have passed since our romantic weekend in Canterlot and during that time, Aloe and I have been spending time with each other for as long as possible. Occasionally, I would stop by at the spa to visit Lotus and Aloe and play my guitar in background while the spa sisters served their customers. Other times, Aloe and I would meet up in a special place in the evening and have picnic, do some stargazing and just enjoy each other’s company. There were also days when we felt like having a bit of time to ourselves and it happen to be one of those days now. It was a warm Saturday afternoon and I was in my hangar, fettling with my Comitatus jumpship. I hadn’t flown her since I had landed here and I figured I needed to do a maintenance check on the power components. I was lying on the wing with the engine hatch open and having a fettle with the hyperdrive, when a purple flash lit up the entire hangar. I stood up and saw Twilight standing in the hangar entrance. There was a look of fear and panic on her muzzle which concerned me straight away, “Twilight? What are you doing here?” I asked climbing down from the ship and walking over to her, “Barnaby, I need you to come to Canterlot with me,” she replied, “It’s urgent,” “What’s the problem?” “IT'S UNDER ATTACK!” Twilight cried. A determined look appeared on my face. My father told me to protect this planet from anything dangerous, and I was not going to fail him, “Attack!?” I asked in shock, “If Canterlot is under attack, then we need to go now,” I decided. I activated my storm call and I was standing before the lavender alicorn in my Guardian armor, “I’m going to do my duty and protect this planet Twilight,” I told her, “Then let’s put a stop to Queen Chrysalis and the Changeling army,” Twilight declared. I nodded in agreement and turned to look at Comitatus, Alright old girl, its time fly, I pressed a button on my wrist and an entrance ramp opened from underneath with loud hiss. I turned to look at the lavender alicorn, “Climb aboard Twilight, this will be the quickest way,” I said, walking up into the cargo bay. Twilight followed me inside and looked around. She spotted something that interested her, “Barnaby, what is that?” she asked. I looked where she was looking and saw the crackling lightning orb, “That’s The Eye of The Storm,” I explained, “It’s what gives me my powers,” “Why is it here?” Twilight asked again, “To keep it safe. If it falls into the wrong hands, then all hell will break loose,” The lavender alicorn gazed fearfully at it while I took my place in the cockpit and began the launch sequence. I activated the ignition and Comitatus’s engines roared into life, “Hang on tight Twilight; it’s going to be a bumpy ride!” I shouted. I remained in control as the ship hovered slowly out of the hangar. Once we were clear, I opened up on the throttle and pulled up and Comitatus rocketed upwards into the blue sky. I did a few aerobatics to warm the ship up and then we blasted away towards Canterlot. I heard Twilight come up behind me as we flew over the countryside, “This is simply AMAZING!” Twilight squealed, “It is pretty epic isn’t it,” I called back with a grin. I then regained focus on the mission, “Tell me about this Changeling army Twilight,” I said to her, “Changelings are foul, ugly creatures who feed of the love you have for someone,” she explained, “The more love they feed on, the weaker you’ll become and the more powerful the Changelings will be,” Once Twilight had finished explaining, only one thought entered my mind, Aloe… I shook my head and continued the flight path towards the city under siege. As we approached Canterlot, we saw what looked a swarm of gigantic flies buzzing around the city. There were some changelings that were dive bombing the streets. I circled around the outskirts and put Comitatus into autopilot. I then opened the entrance ramp and went into the cargo bay, “Come on Twilight!” I shouted to her, “What are we doing!?” she shouted back over noise of the engines and the wind, “JUMP!” I yelled and I bailed out into the open air. I activated my gliding ability and flew down towards the streets of Canterlot. As I flew, I saw a group of changelings that had cornered the rest of the Mane 6. I put on a burst of speed and raced towards their rescue. When I was few feet above, I unleashed my Stormtrance and the changelings shrieked in pain as they crackled away in Arc light. After they had all vanished, I landed in front of the Mane 6 and Twilight landed next to me and looked at Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Applejack and Rainbow Dash with concern, “You guys okay!?” I asked. They all nodded, “What’s the situation?” “Queen Chrysalis has captured the princesses and Shining Armor and is holding them hostage in the throne room,” Rarity explained, “We need to get to the Elements of Harmony and rescue them, but the changelings aren’t making easy,” Rainbow Dash added. I nodded my head and then came up with an idea, “Alright, I think the best way to win this battle, is that we’re going to have to split up,” I said, “Ah think ya’ll ah on ta somethin,” Applejack said, “That sounds like a good idea. What’s the plan Barnaby?” Twilight asked. I smiled at her, even though my face was hidden behind my silver visor, “Okay, you six stay together and retrieve the Elements. Once you have them, make your way to throne room and rescue the princesses and Shining Armor. Do everything you can to protect them, I’ll delay the changelings,” I explained, pointing a thumb at myself, “Oh, I hope you’ll be okay,” Fluttershy said softly, “I’ll be fine,” I assured her. I looked at the rest of the Mane 6 who were all smiling at me, “Are we all clear on the plan?” I asked. They all nodded and I grinned behind my helemet, “Good. Now go!” I commanded, pointing down the street, “I’ll meet you in throne room when I’ve cleared off the changelings, “Come on girls,” Twilight said, and the 6 ponies ran off to do their part, “Good luck!” I called after them, “This is going to be super, duper fun!” I heard Pinkie say. I shook my head in amusement and turned around to see a small army of changelings heading my way. I pulled out my auto rifle, The Zero Day Dilemma and loaded a 24 magazine into the receiver Zero Day has begun for these bastards… Author's Note Here we go viewers. Our hero is going into battle once again. Chapter 8: The Storm has risenI ran at the small changeling strike force and opened fired at them. The changelings charged up their horns and fired green magic beams that riveted off of my armour because they weren’t powerful enough to weaken my shield. I took down a good number of them easily and activated my glide and quickly reloaded my auto rifle. I landed, and finished off the last of the strike force with a few quick bursts. I turned around just in time to see another changeling running at me with a fully charged horn. I pulled out a sidearm pistol and shot it in the head and it hit ground with green blood pouring out of the hole where the bullet went. I reloaded my weapons and followed after the Mane 6 towards the throne room, taking out hordes of changelings and saving ponies on the way. Meanwhile, Twilight and her friends had picked up the Elements of Harmony and were fighting for their very lives in the throne room. The Changeling Queen Chrysalis had called in a large number of her army and was surveying scene as the Mane 6 were fending them off. Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy were doing everything they could to fight back, but they were outnumbered and completely surrounded. Princess’s Celestia, Luna, Cadence and Captain Shining Armour were hanging suspended from the ceiling in nets of green goo that their magic couldn’t penetrate, “Where’s Barnaby when we need him!?” Rainbow asked urgently, “We’ve got to keep fighting girls,” Twilight replied, “Barnaby will be here soon,” “Give it up you fools!” Chrysalis shouted in glee, “You’ve failed!” It looked like all hope was lost for Twilight and her friends, but then suddenly, “NOT YET THEY HAVEN’T!” came a loud voice and the throne room doors burst open and there I was with my Bolt Caster in my hand, ready to fight, “Well now, who are you?” Chrysalis asked with a glare, “Your Ugliness, I am Barnaby and I’m a Guardian,” I announced coolly, “A completely unknown species decides to show and thwart my plans?” Chrysalis growled, “Well we can’t have that can we. CHANGELINGS ATTACK!” she shrieked. The army charged straight at me with their horns charged and I ran full force at them. I launched an Arc Swirl and took down a group of changelings who evaporated into forms of lighting and then I began cutting my way through the rest of them. Shrieks of pain echoed throughout Canterlot and changeling limbs, heads and green blood splattered all over the floor of the throne room. Green beams of magic kept riveting off of my armour and some were being blocked by my sword and shooting back to their owners. But, I was outnumbered and ended up being surrounded on all sides. Everywhere I looked, there were changelings with their horns charged and hissing at me like a bunch of angry snakes. With only one decision left, I put my sword onto my back and activated my Storm Call. Looks of glee and thoughts of winning vanished from the changelings and were replaced with horror and shock when they saw my new form. I smirked behind my visor and unleashed my Stormtrance. The changelings started fleeing, but I chased after them, zapping them with my lighting, letting none of them survive my wrath, “BARNABY LOOK OUT!” Fluttershy screamed suddenly. I turned around in time to see Chrysalis shoot a strong beam of magic out of her horn. I put all my strength behind my right hand and fired a lightning bolt out of my palm. The two forces came together and created an explosion of blue and green that was strong enough to send both me and Chrysalis flying backwards. The Changeling Queen flew into the far wall at the end of the throne room and I crashed into a concrete pillar and dropped to the floor. The electronic display behind my visor fuzzed out and came back after the impact. I slowly got to my feet and pulled out my Bolt Caster and held it in a threatening manner towards Chrysalis who had also regained her composure and was giving me the death glare. "You're good Guardian," she sneered, "How about we end this foolishness and you join me in taking over Canterlot and the rest of Equestria?" she then suggested. I lowered my sword and looked over at the Mane 6 who had heard the suggestion and were all shaking their heads franticly and pleadingly, but my mind was already made up. "Your Highness, you're a powerful foe I have to say," I complimented, which Chrysalis replied with a smirk, "But I came to this planet for only one reason; to protect it," I announced, looking at the Mane 6 with a friendly smile, "What?" the Queen asked, confusingly, "So in other words; not today," I finished and fired an Arc Swirl at the Changeling Queen which she blocked with a magic beam, "Let's settle this," I decided, "With pleasure," Chrysalis hissed in reply. We both then started firing Arc Swirls and magic green beams at each other which we either blocked or dodged, "Free the Royal Family!" I shouted to the Mane 6, "I'll handle this!" Twilight and her friends quickly sprung into action to release the Princesses's and Shining Armour from their gooey prison, "NO STOP!" Chrysalis screamed and tried to forfit the rescue. With her off guard, I fired another Arc Swirl and knocked the Queen off of her hooves. She slowly picked herself up, only to find Celestia, Luna, Cadence, Shining Armour, Twilight and me glaring at her with fully charged horns and a ready-to-fire Bolt Caster. Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Pinkie Pie were also giving her really cold looks, "Stand down," I commanded, "Never!" the Queen retorted, "Chrysalis, listen to me," I explained, "It's over. Canterlot is safe, there is no point fighting any longer. We've won. Stand down!" I commanded again, "If that's what you think," Chrysalis replied, with a rather nasty sneer, "Then I'll target your weakest member," she announced, aiming her now fully charged horn at a certain yellow pegasus who was now shrinking in pure terror, "You coward!" I growled. And before Chrysalis could fire a magic beam at Fluttershy, I put all my power and strength behind the sword and threw it like a javelin at the Changeling Queen, "AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!" Chrysalis shrieked in pain, as the sword penetrated her chest, "Aiming for the weakest is very low for you!" I shouted at her, "Now you can rule... In hell." I finished, "NO! NO! NOOOOOOO!" the Queen screamed, withering and exploding in a ray of blue and green. The colourful cloud soon vanished and my Bolt Caster fell to the floor with a clatter. I picked it up and returned it to it's casing on my back, "Is everyone alright?" As soon as I finished asking, I was immediately tackled in a bone shattering hug by the Mane 6, "That was awesome!" Rainbow shouted, "Incredible!" Twilight added, "Wonderful!" Rarity stated, "Brilliant!" Fluttershy squeaked, "Amazing!" Pinkie squealed, "More amzin' than fresh apple cider on a summer's day," Applejack commented, "Just doing what I was trained to do," I laughed, "It's seems as though you've proven yourself worthy," came Celestia's voice. I untangled myself from the Mane 6 and stared at the Princess in slight confusion, "What do you mean? I asked. A golden aura surrounded Celestia's horn and my Bolt Caster, which was lifted off of my back and carried over to the Princess, "Please kneel Barnaby," Celestia told me. I approached her and knelt down on one knee and felt the sword's tip on my shoulders, "As Princess of The Sun and of Equestria," Celestia announced, "I hereby grant you Barnaby Abbott; The Guardian of The Sky and Land!" Luna, Cadence, Shining Armour and the Mane 6 all cheered. I couldn't believe it; I had found my true place in a land of creatures that I never seen before, and have been given a royal title. It was another glorious moment in my life. Better than kissing Aloe for the first time? Hah! You wish. It's not even close. "You know what this calls for," Pinkie Pie called out. The rest of the Mane 6 and I all looked at each other and nodded, "A PARTY!" Author's Note There it is then. Our Guardian has fought his first battle for Equestria and acquired a new position in the land. This chapter might seem a little short for a battle scene, but I tried to keep it going for as long as possible to get above 1000 words. Wasn't easy. Should point out that the first half of this chapter I got from the last part I had made on the Word Document which is up until the part Chrysalis and Barnaby are staring each other down after their powers collide. The rest of it is fresh and brand new. If you enjoyed it more will be coming. I still need to come up with a scene for Tirek and Barnaby's long lost friend The Nightstalker. Thanks for reading up to this point guys. Chapter 1: When a Guardian is called, a Storm will riseMy name is Barnaby Abbott. I’m a Warlock, a human guardian from my home planet, Earth. I was born with the ability to call a storm and use the power of lighting to defeat my enemies. With this ability, my fellow guardians; the Titan and the Hunter called me The Stormcaller. Pretty good name huh? Sadly, all of those friendly faces and memories were wiped out. Our planet came under attack by a really dangerous enemy force called the Taken. The Guardian Tower was overrun by Taken troops and defeat was inevitable when the Taken leader, Oryx killed my father. The Guardians fought bravely, but all hope was lost when my father had fallen. Luckily, Oryx and his Taken minions were destroyed at the same time the Guardians were defeated. Who was victorious and who was defeated I cannot say because I was the last guardian standing and Earth had fallen. Even though the most deadly enemy that the Guardians had ever fought had been wiped out and our planet was free once again, I knew I couldn’t stay. The sight of my father’s dead body had given me the mission to leave Earth and find a distant planet to protect from any enemy forces. Accompanied by my best handheld weapons and my storm calling ability, I left Earth in my Comitatus jumpship and fled to a distant planet called Equus on the other side of the galaxy.
Chapter 2: A New future replaces a Forbidden pastWhen I arrived at this planet, the residents of a small town that was near to where I landed my ship were very surprised and bit scared when they first saw me. If you see any mistakes, point them out and I'll sort them. I'm a person who likes to write with good spelling and grammer. Thanks you brilliant viewers.
Chapter 4: A Storm is summoned and an Old Memory returnsOur walk back home was a very pleasant one underneath Luna’s majestic moon and stars. Chapter 5: A Storm gives Peace and FreedomA few days have passed since the Ponyville townsfolk learnt about my past.
