Melody Quill seems like an ordinary mare living in Canterlot, but she has a very strange power: she can shapeshift into either an earth pony, unicorn, or pegasus. Given the outcast treatment because of this, she basically keeps to herself.

But one night, she is captured by somepony, but escapes and crashes exhausted into the library home of Twilight Sparkle. After getting back to full strength, the Mane 6 learn of Melody's unique talent and don't push her away, but instead welcomes her.

Join Melody Quill as she joins the Mane 6 on their adventures, all while trying to learn to embrace her gift and keep a dark secret away from her new friends.

Takes place after Luna Eclipsed.
