A long time ago in a galaxy far,
far away….
STAR WARS
Laws of the Galaxy
It is a dark time in the galaxy, twelve years ago the Old Republic crumbled and was reborn into the Galactic Empire, a force of Evil.
Lead by Emperor Palpatine, an evil Sith Lord, the galaxy lives in fear. The Jedi of the Old Republic, once peacekeepers of the galaxy have been labeled as criminals to Empire and the few remaining have since gone into hiding.
In the far reaches of the Outer Rim, An Imperial Shuttle carrying an important figure of a secret Order silently makes its way to the Imperial Prison Facility on Dathomir….
7 BBY
Dathomir, Quelii Sector
Outer Rim Territories
A Lambda-Class T-4a Shuttle dropped out of hyperspace above the planet and proceeds to fly down toward its destination; the Dathomir Imperial Prison, home to the most dangerous of criminals known to the Galactic Empire.
On the Planet Below
The Officer on Duty was passing by a Sensor Station by when a young lieutenant called him over to his station.
“Sir, I have a shuttle on approach.”
“Call it out. Find out who they are, we are not scheduled to have any transfers today.”
“Shuttle on approach, identify yourself immediately!”
“Shuttle Delta Tango One Fiver, requesting clearance for landing, transmitting Clearance Code: Black, now.”
“Code confirmed standby.” The Lieutenant said as he received the code, after reviewing the code he quickly muted the link between him and the shuttle.
“Sir, I ran that code, it doesn’t match anything in our current system, but it’s an older code. What do you think?”
“Could be Pirates. Have a security detail waiting for them on Pad Seven Alpha.”
“Yes sir.” The lieutenant put in the order and reopened the comlink to the shuttle.
On Board the Shuttle
A very nervous officer sat in the copilot seat next to a pilot in a black uniform. Behind them stood a six-foot five-inch figure in a brightly polished dark silver chest plate, a dark crimson tunic, and a set of black pants and boats. Clipped to her belt were two lightsabers. A dark silver helmet with green glowing optical lenses and two straight horns protruding from the top covered her head. The cloak hanging from the neck behind was blood red on the inside with black on the outside. With her arms crossed and quiet breathing, you would not be able to tell if she was angry or happy because of the mask she wore. Her exposed arms reviled skin that had paled. Her left hand had claw attachments to each finger but allowed the figure to shot lighting from their tips if the situation permitted, while it looked like she had lost her right and part of her for arm in an accident and the flesh of her arm and prostatic some what melted into one, this hand also had the same claw like attachments.
“Shuttle Delta Tango One Fiver. You have permission to land, proceed to pad Seven Alpha. Welcome to Dathomir.”
The officer seemed to sigh in relief.
“Well Lord Koszmar, it seems your mission shall go on with out a hitch.” He smiled at the Sith lord behind him.
The figure identified as Lord Koszmar, or better known as Nightmare, looked at the officer whose smile instantly fade, and his look of panic renewed. The Sith Lord felt the presence of a security team waiting to strike should they turn out to be pirates.
“Things are not always as they seem, Captain Maddocks, do not forget no one knows of this mission, not even the Emperor knows. My Master requested that I do this, and for what every reason he needs the prisoner on this planet.” She spoke through a distorted voice filter making her sound masculine.
Landing Platform 7A
The shuttle landed on the pad, while a group of twenty-five stormtroopers, though trying not to look conspicuous, were ready to attack the intruders.
The shuttle opened lowered its ramp and Darth Koszmar exited the shuttle her heavy boats clunking on the metal.
As soon as one of the troopers recognized her, he panicked, and quickly reported the Sith Lords arrival. Within moments of exiting the shuttle the twenty-five stormtroopers stood at attention. Koszmar groaned in annoyance. She started to walk faster as if to avoid the group of approaching officers.
“Lord Koszmar, this is an unexpected pleasure, We are honored by your presence-” Spoke a Commander, clearly nervous.
“Stop the formalities, Captain! If I hadn’t exited the shuttle first, your men would have opened fired on my crew!” She stopped pointing a clawed finger at the officer. She turned back and continued forward.
“I apologies for my actions, but you must understand your code didn’t match anything in our system so naturally we had to be caut-GAK!”
Koszmar had stopped. She turned to see the officer she was lifting through the force into the air, chocking.
“I wanted to arrived on this planet without a big fuss. The Councilor has ordered me to retrieve a certain prisoner in your care!”
Koszmar release the officer who was turning blue. He dropped to his knees coughing and gasping for breath. One of his subordinates ran over to help him up. Koszmar could feel their fear. Serving the Emperor, as Vader did, was one thing. To serve his master, the Councilor was another; her master was an equally powerful Sith Lord who controlled much of the underground & a few members of the Imperial Senate. In fact, while the Emperor could have your tortured and executed, The Councilor could make you & your entire family disappear. Not even Boba Fett could find you.
A third officer nervously looked over to the Sith Lord.
“Who…who is this….p…p…prisoner?” he asked shaking.
“His name is Derrick Falstom.”
“Falstom! That pirate who almost killed the Emperor?” The Commander wheezed.
“The same one. He was rumored to having been to at least one of the neighboring galaxies.”
“Are you here to dispose of him your-GAK!” a supply officer started to ask but was force chocked and lifted into the air.
“I want to make something very clear! I was NEVER here!” Koszmar said in an angry tone.
“You were never here!” everyone repeated, though not under the influence of the force, but of fear.
“Derrick Falstom died from natural causes and his body was disposed of!”
“Yes my lord!” everyone repeated again.
Koszmar released the officer she was chocking, throwing him to side, unconscious.
“Commander, you and your men better not touch my ship, and bring me Falstom, I WANT HIM NOW!” She roared.
“Yes sir!” a Stormtrooper Commander said trying not to show fear. He grabbed four additional troopers and proceeded into the prison.
Inside Dathimor Imperial Prison
30 minuets ago
Inside the cafeteria there was a bit of brawl going on, a large crowd had gathered around the two male fighters, a trandoshan and a human. Surprisingly the human was somewhat able to hold its own against the trandoshan. But he couldn’t land a single hit on him. He came close but kept on getting punched.
One punch sent him tumbling backwards out of the ring.
He pulled him self up to the table. His long straight black hair a mess, his arms displaying both tattoos, scars, in addition to a few fresh cuts and bruises. He gasped for breath as the crowed roared and cheered, some egging him on to fight the trandoshan.
[You can’t keep doing this.] A Rodian said to the human in huttese.
[Eh, what make you say that?] The man responded back looking at his cellmate.
[You know Pessk is a famous headhunter, maybe second to Bossk] The Rodian responded.
[Yah? You forget I took on the Emperor and if his lap dog Vader hadn’t shown and ganged up on me I would have succeed in killing him. Freeing the galaxy.]
[That’s a bunch of wishful thinking, my friend. But remember, here you have no allies. The guards certainly won’t help you if you bite off more than you can chew.] The Rodian said motioning to a couple of Guards above them on a walkway.
[Don’t remind me, Drido.] The human groaned.
[Hehehe, you know Drido Tetsu speaks the truth.] Drido said.
[I think you speak poodoo better.] The man chuckled, he groaned as he got up and shouted at his opponent.
“Hey Pessk! Come at me, E chu ta!” with a sly grin knowing full well that was going to anger Pessk off even more than he already was.
“Thatss it you Peedunky, You gonna die now!” Pessk howled, his reptilian eyes almost bulging out of his head when he heard that insult.
[Bring it!] The human said in Dosh, getting into a fighting stance.
Above the guards were impressed. Pessk was one toughest prisoner they had to watch out for, the other being a wookie by the name of Liakurra, and this human was holding his own against him, though taking a beating, he still was getting back up.
Suddenly their coms beeped.
“Attention all personal, Prisoner D61577, Derrick Falstom, is to be brought to brought to Landing Platform Seven-A, with all his belongings immediately. Respond if you have sight of the prisoner.”
“Command, this is TK-309, he is in brawl in the cafeteria, he is in a fight with Pessk. Recommend Shock Troopers to separate these two.” One of the troopers said into his com.
A few minuets later three four man teams of shock troopers armed with stun batons entered the room making their way through the crowd. Pessk knocked the human down.
“All right break it up!” A Shock Trooper yelled.
The human got back up and surprisingly tackled the much bigger trandoshan and pinned him down and started punch its face, slowly blooding it up, though most was his own blood, the Trandoshans nose did begin to bleed after the sever beating.
“I said break it up, scum!” A Shock Trooper yelled whacking Derrick on his back zapping both him and the enraged trandoshan under him. Despite being zapped Derrick managed to throw another punch onto Pessk’s face slamming his head to the ground, knocking him out. Suddenly Derricks lights went out as something hit him on the back of his head.
“Your coming with us.” The Shock Trooper Commander said. Slowly the crowd paired as two Stormtroopers dragged a knocked-out Derrick out of the room.
Twenty minuets later
Shuttle DT15
In-route to unknown location
Derrick awoke with a pounding in his head. He quickly noticed he was not in prison any more. He was on an Imperial shuttle heading the force knows where. He had even been changed out of his prison clothes and into what he was captured in. A brown Preter Jacker, a white shirt, tan pants and brown boots. He even had his trusted, though, illegally modified Model 434 heavy blaster pistol clipped to his belt.
“I see you’re awake.” A dark & distorted voice said. Derrick looked up to see one the most feared Sith lords in the Galaxy, Darth Koszmar.
Koszmars’ very presence is enough to frighten everyone, including a Rancor, it didn’t matter if you were force sensitive or not, you could feel the dark aura resonating from this Sith Lord. Derrick how ever did not seem to even be effected by her presences.
“So what does the famed Nightmare want with some backwater criminal like me?”
“Prisoner D61577; Kidnapper, Thief, Assassin, Anarchist, Pirate and Murder, Sentenced to rot in prison, but you have been set free.”
“Really now? Why?” he said with a suspicious look.
“My master feels you deserve a second chance and wants to give it to you.”
“Your master? The emperor, the man I tried to kill-”
“My master is not the Emperor. I work for the Empire, but I serve the Councilor and his Order.”
“And what is his order?” Derrick said raising an Eyebrow
“That is none of your concern!”
“Then what is my concern?”
“How you are going to complete your mission.”
“And if I refuse.”
“You will be executed.” Koszmar said igniting one of her crimson lightsabers and holding it to Derrick’s neck.
“What is my mission, sir?” Derrick growled.
“You will be in charge of the 707th Legion overseeing the protection of the Capital City, on a planet found in the 4th Galaxy.”
“The 4th Galaxy.” Derrick let out a low whistle
“Why is some backwater planet so important to the Empire, hm?”
“That will be revealed to you in time.”
“You seem to be putting a lot of faith into some one who almost succeeded in killing the Emperor.”
“My master seems to think you have what it takes. You seem to be able to pull off the impossible.”
“I’m just lucky.”
“Luck has nothing to do with it. Your skills surpass many in combat; I have reviewed the footage of your fight with that Trandoshan, you stronger than most. You seem to have a unique ability to learn most languages easily, which makes you smarter than you look, and you have successfully lead thirteen different raids on three different Imperial held planets and one Imperial Supply Fleet! Luck has nothing to do with your skills.”
“So the 4th Galaxy hm? Aren’t they on a slower rotation than us?”
“We have been led to believe so. However we do not know what the difference is, it could days, months, even years!”
“So, I’m being put in charge of garrison of troops in a galaxy, where time moves slower than here?”
“That is correct.”
“Lord Koszmar, we have dropped out of hyperspace and are approaching the fleet.” The pilot from the cockpit said.
“Ah, my chariot awaits.” Derrick said with a small grin.
“What?”
“Mh? Oh nothing, just an expression I picked up in my travels beyond this galaxy.”
Derrick stood up and followed Koszmar to the shuttles cockpit. Derrick’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. He had been expecting maybe the left overs of the Imperial Navy and rejects. But in front of him was not one, but three Venator-Class Star Destroyer in an Imperial Gray color scheme, along with a single Acclamator-class assault ship. He also noticed that there were two Pelta-class frigates with in close proximity to the fleet moving to dock underneath two of the star destroyers. He also was surprised to see a Consular-Class Space cruiser fly by them and dock underneath the Star Destroyer they were heading toward.
“I didn’t think the Empire used those space cruisers any more.”
“They don’t. My master is a strange man. He would rather upgrade the engines and refit a ship then replace it.” Koszmar said.
“When do I get to meet this master?”
“Never.”
“Well that’s no fun.”
“Preparing for docking with the Fist of the Empire.” The Pilot said, starting the sequence for landing.
The shuttle made flew toward the Lead Venator Star Destroyer and flew into its main hanger. Once the shuttle had touched down, Koszmar turned on his heals and proceeded to exit the shuttle.
“Come.” She commanded
Derrick followed and while he saw another Captain who had been sitting with them quickly exited the Shuttle and headed over to a group of nearby Stormtroopers. This whole thing was strange to him, not two years ago he had tried to kill the Emperor and failed. The Emperor could have killed him but he somehow had been spared and only sent to prison. The two exited the shuttle as soldiers, ship crews, and pilots bustled about, apparently prepping to jump into hyperspace. Derrick could have sworn he heard some comments referring to him, but he was lost in the magnificence’s of the ship he was on.
As they walked Koszmar spoke.
“Due to your previous military experience and skill sets, you have been given the navel rank of Commander, do not think that your rank is anything small, you are the one in charge of these men and the protection of the Capital, should you fail your mission, you will be executed.”
“Pretty steep.”
“This should be easy for you, you have a newly formed Legion of some the best men the Empire has to offer and the newest of equipment. Captain Maddocks mission has far steeper consequences if he falls his assignment.
“So is my main arsenal of star fighters any of those new TIE Fighters I’ve heard about?” Derrick asked as they entered the bridge.
“No sir. Your star fighters vary pending the squadron, Phoenix Squadron is made up of the new V-Wings Bomber Interceptors, Black Squadron; TIE Fighters, Dragon Squadron are primary ARC-170’s. Just to name a few.” Spoke what appeared to be a clone trooper in 501st blue color scheme Phase II armor.
“I’m sorry, you are?”
“I’m-” the trooper started but was cut off.
“That is Lieutenant Taylor operative.” A snobby sounding officer in a gray uniform said.
“And you are?” Derrick asked with a raised eyebrow.
“I am Captain Elmin Kosh. I am in charge of Alpha Company of the 62 Regiment.” He responded.
“Ah.”
“If you’ll excuse me operative. I must check up on some…matters.” Kosh said as he left the bridge.
“What stick does that guy have up his butt?”
“Sir?” Taylor questioned.
“A human expression for being up tight.” A deep but feminine voice said.
Derrick spun around to see a very strange sight; an albino trandoshan, and a female by the looks.
“And you are?”
[They call me Sarkh. I am your Information & Intelligence Officer.] She spoke in her native language.
[I didn’t realize they were letting females or Trandoshan’s into the Imperial Army.] Derrick replied
“You sspeak Dossh?” Sarkh said, obviously surprised
[Fluently] Derrick replied in Dosh.
“You never cease to amaze me Falstom.” Koszmar said.
“She is actually a bounty hunter hired on to this exposition by Lord Koszmar.” Taylor said.
“A head-hunter! Boy, what else you get me?”
“We have some contacts working out an alliance with a group of Humans called the UNSC from a planet in the second galaxy.”
“The Beta Universe!” Derrick exclaimed.
“You familiar with that galaxy?” Sarah asked.
“I passed through there not to long ago, the place is a nut house and freaking huge! Not to mention there was a massive galactic war going on there.”
“That war is over.” A new deep voice said.
Derrick tensed up upon hearing that. He slow looked to his left at Taylor.
“Lieutenant, is there a big reptile like alien in a bluish armor with a four-way split jaw behind me.”
“No.”
Derrick sighed in relief
“His armor is silver, sir.”
Derrick tensed up once again. He turned behind him to see one of the few aliens that scared him, a Sangheili from Sangheilos in the Beta Universe. Sure he had heard horror stories of trandoshan slavers and other “scary” aliens from the Prime Galaxy, they didn’t scare him. What frightened him about the Sangheili was the fact they were bigger than a wookie with the strength to match, armor that could make them invisible to the naked eye and heat sensors, they were a very proud warrior race, were trained pretty much from birth in hand to hand, gun, and sword combat. But what absolutely made him shake in his boats was they did not fear anything, a single Sangheili could take on six rancors at once if ordered to do so and be done with them in a matter of minuets.
This Sangheili though was a little different than most. For starters he no longer bore the emblem of the Covenant. His armor looked like it had been modified by the UNSC, and on top of that he was not in a defensive stance.
“And who-” Derrick chocked and cleared his throat.
“Who are you?”
“I am Coka ‘Magam, Shipmaster and leader of one of your Special Forces.”
“So this is your ship?” Derrick asked.
“No, Shipmaster is merely my title and Rank. You have full command of me and my men.”
“Noted.”
“My men are ready for your orders.” Coka replied
Derrick thought for a moment.
“I would like to see any footage you have of your training or combat experience.”
Coka nodded.
“It will be done.” He said with a slight bow.
“Please don’t bow to me.”
“By your will Captain.” He said standing up to his full height of 2.5 meters.
“Why do wish to see our combat records?”
“When we land I may need your men as scouts.” Derrick continued
“I shall prepare them. Anything else?”
“Um…do the men know you’re on our side?”
Coka chuckled.
“Yes, Commander Falstom.” He nodded.
“That is all then.” Derrick said with a small-dismissed gesture.
“I take my leave.” Coka said as he turned and exited the bridge.
“Lieutenant Taylor, what did he mean by one of my special forces.”
“You have two teams of special forces, One is made up of six Sangheilis and the other; a team of nine specially trained Imperial commandos lead by an ARC Troopers, Delta 7, called the Reapers.”
“Before we even arrive I wanna have a meeting with both my special forces leaders.”
“Yes sir.”
“Well I should say in general, every high ranking officer, I want to be able to meet all those under my command.”
“Speaking of which, I turn command of the legion over to you, commander.” Koszmar said turning to exit the bridge.
“Good luck.” She said before turning around and leaving.
Everyone in the bridge looked at Derrick as if waiting for instructions.
Derrick gulped. He then took a deep breath and let it out.
“Pass the word along to the fleet. Preparations to make the jump to hyperspace should be completed with in the hour.”
“Sir, preparations have been complete for nearly an hour already. We are ready to jump on your command.” An officer in white said.
“Pass the word onto the fleet, run one final check over everything, I want us jumping with in the hour.” Derrick responded.
“Sir, As I said before the fleet-”Derrick interrupted the officer.
“I know what you said, you idiot. I want everything checked and ready to go. This is not a simple jump from one end of the galaxy to another, this is going to be a long trip, and by that I mean days, if not weeks in hyper travel. We may even have to stop to refuel or let the engines cool.”
The office stood at attention gave a small bow and proceed to pass along the command.
“How far way is this planet?” Derrick asked a communications officer.
“Our estimates puts us at about fifteen days in hyperspace.” Taylor responded before the officer could get a word out.
“Your pretty sharp, aren’t you?” Derrick said with a smirk.
“Yes sir, first in class in intelligence and combat leadership.”
“And I’m assuming, that the travel time is only if we didn’t have to stop every eight hours or so to recalculate the NavComputer.”
“Correct sir.” Taylor responded.
Derrick looked back to the officer who had told him preparation were ready. The Officer in question frowned.
“Fleet report: all ships ready to go. Ready to make the jump to hyperspace.” He said.
“Good.” Derrick said. He walked forward to the middle of the bridge. He raised his arm and pointed forward.
“Lets go.”
“All ships, Hyperspace jump on my mark. Three, two, mark.” The officer ordered through the coms.
The space around the bridge changed from black with stars to a blue wormhole. Derrick sighed. This was start of a big adventure for him, he just didn’t know how big. He suddenly remembered something important he had neglected to ask Koszmar.
“Say Taylor, what’s the name of the planet?”
“I believe the locals have called it Equestria.” He responded.
