It wasn't suppose to be like this. She had planned everything so well and she was so assured that it would have gone without issue. So why oh why was she now sitting sheepishly in front of Aero's herd with five morphed Changelings, like a filly who had been caught with their hoof in the cookie jar. The redness of her cheeks refused to give way as they stared with looks of shock for some and curiosity for others.

"Um. I can explain."

A loan beam of sunlight silently made its way between a small gap in the curtains that hung over Twilight's windows. This stray sunbeam had traveled and incredible distance for one reason and one reason only. To land squarely in the eye's of one pegasus colt who had until now had been napping quite peacefully in the comfort of lavender linens. The sunbeam cared not however as Aero stirred, rising from the abyss of slumber. He groaned and rolled over, content to go back to sleep, until he noticed that the bed was no longer occupied by a certain pretty purple pony princess.

With a yawn, he sat up and stretched, feeling satisfaction from his somewhat sore muscles. He slid out of bed and moved to a rather large mirror that sat near the far left wall, nestled between a wardrobe and a cluttered writing desk that Aero was sure wasn't used for writing so much as for reading. His fur was a little matted on one side and bits of his mane stuck out at odd angles. He gave a brief huff of annoyance and looked around for a bathroom so he could sort himself out. To the front of the bed was a doorway that seemed to be what he was looking for, judging by the edge of a towel rack he could see from where he was.

When he entered he rose an eyebrow. It was by far the second nicest bathroom he had been in, the one in Canterlot Castle having been the nicest. In front of him was an ornate crystal sink that flowed with waves and curls, giving it an almost oceanic look. The toilet was of the same design and was sitting between the sink and a shower/bath combo that was larger than it had any right to be. He shook his head and started the shower, running his hoof under the water until he had it nice and hot. The bathroom began to steam up and he hopped in and began washing himself. Just outside the bathroom, the door opened and Twilight walked in, having finished her breakfast. She was carrying a tray with some of the breakfast Spike had made, so that Aero could eat when he woke up.

She stopped when she heard the shower going and placed the tray on her desk. Smiling mischievously, she cast a silencing spell on herself and entered the bathroom. Quietly she crept into the shower, levitating her crown over to the sinks counter top. Aero was facing the spout as he let the water run over him, wetting his mane to his neck. Twilight moved up behind him and as silently as possible she ran her tongue along his cheek. With a yelp, he jumped back and slipped onto his stomach as he looked up at her. Twilight giggled as he stood back up, scowling at her with what she would call a very adorable frown.

"That's not funny. You made me slip." He said, a bit of humor coming through in his voice. Twilight let out another giggle as she grabbed the soap. "I thought it was pretty funny. Now how about I help you get cleaned up so you can eat. There's someone I want you to meet today." she said, using her hoof to work up a lather as she washed his back.

"Who are we going to meet?" he asked, stretching out a wing so she could scrub around the joints.

"I thought it might be nice to drop by to see the Mayor. She handle's a lot of the day to day stuff in Ponyville. That's why despite being a Princess, I have a lot of time to still be the town Librarian." She explained, rinsing him off before working some soap into his mane. "What do you think?"

Aero closed his eyes as soap foam began running down his face. "That sounds pretty nice. So yeah why not?" he answered as she rinsed his mane. When she was finished, she turned off the water and grabbed some towels. As easy as it would be to use magic to dry them, it often dried too fast leaving her looking like a fluffed up furball. Something she'd rather avoid.

Once they were dry and she had her crown back on, they left the bathroom and Aero ate his breakfast as he watched Twilight open the curtains. What was once a single sunbeam was now a warm flood of light that bathed the room in a golden glow. The reflective properties of crystal would never stop amazing him.

After a delicious breakfast and some morning exercise that Twilight insisted on, they took a stroll through the Ponyville Marketplace and simply looked at what was offered as they made their way to the Center of town. There Aero could see the Town Hall standing tall. Out front was a beige colored mare with grey hair who seemed to be looking over a scroll. She had a white collar with a green ruffle in the front, and a scroll tied with a blue ribbon for a cutie mark. Upon their approach, she looked up and greeted them with a smile.

"Good morning Twilight, goood morning Aero." she said.

"Good morning Mayor, I see you got my letter. What do you think?" Twilight asked, leaving Aero to look between them in confusion. It was obvious that Twilight was planning something, but he didn't have enough information to go on that could give him any kind of inkling as to what it was.

"Well it is an interesting proposition. You said this was signed off on by the others?" Mayor Mare asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Mmhmm. I sent them a scroll this morning before I sent you yours. You have our full Blessing." Twilight replied with a smile. She then turned to Aero who at this point looked to be thinking so hard that if it were physically possible outside of Pinkie physics, he'd have smoke coming from his ears.

"I have some things I need to take care of today, so I thought Mayor Mare could entertain you for a while." She explained, "You guy's enjoy yourselves. I'll be by later to see how things are going."

With that, Twilight vanished in a flash of magic, leaving Aero standing there awkwardly with Mayor Mare. She simply chuckled at Twilight's attempt at subtlety and motioned for Aero to follow her inside. Upon entering the Town Hall, Aero was met with quite a sight. They were standing in a wide circular room that rose up to a domed roof that was cut into on the right side to make way for the stairs that led up to the tower and what Aero assumed was the Mayor's office. The stairs were lined with mahogany banister railings that matched the reception desk that sat in the center. The floor was tiled marble and added an extra layer of class to the place.

Aero looked on in appreciation as he followed Mayor Mare up the stairs and through a door into her office. Once inside, she closed the door behind him and locked it. This immediately made Aero suspicious as he watched her make her way to the desk that sat in her office. She sat herself in front of it and removed her collar, placing it on her desk. As she looked to Aero with the most sultry pair of bedroom eyes and a half lidded gaze, she beckoned him forward. Aero on his end couldn't help himself in that moment as the pieces of what Twilight and her had discussed fell into place in his mind. She had been offered a chance to bed him by his herd.

Having come to this realization, he moved to her and accepted her embrace as she placed her lips against his own. Once again he prepared himself to wage intimate war with his new foe.
