CHAPTER 1
"tell me doc, when are we going this time?"
Tuesday, June 26, 1006 C.R Equestria
Inside a small garage in the small town of Ponyville, Equestria a clock rang signaling the hour and activating a radio, a coffee maker, and a TV showing the news of somepony breaking into the Equestrian Royal archives and stealing Star Swirl the Bearded's Time Travel spell, as well as a cat food dispenser dumping dry cat food into a bowl already overflowing. Just then a young Alicorn mare walked in.
"Mike?! Hello? You home? Chewie come here girl!" the Alicorn called but no answer. She kept walking and dropped some books by the small bed and underneath was a some very old books. Then the Alicorn noticed a letter beside the cat food dispenser and began to read:
Dear Twilight,
As you can see both Chewie and I are not home, that is because I had just made a great breakthrough in my latest experiment and I brought Chewie with me. I need you to meet me at the Everfree Mall at 1:15 A.M tonight. I need you to bring my camera and some paper and quills to document everything.

Twilight smiled at the letter and set it down before grabbing her books and exiting the Garage locking the door behind her.
'That Mike, such a goof. but kind in his own way, I should be thankful I was able to bring him back from being a ghost all those months ago' she thought as she walked towards Sweet Apple Acres (see Spirit of Ever free for more info on this event coming soon to fimfiction.net).
As she walked up to the barn of her friend Applejack's home she saw her walk out of the barn with a load of rotten apples in a basket on her back headed for the pig stables.
"Howdy Twilight!! Didn't expect you to be here so soon." Applejack said smiling as she dumped the apples into the trough.
"Well I would have been here earlier but I had to see if Mike was home today." Twilight said blushing embarrassed.
"Am I to Understand that you are still seeing "Doc" Michael Adams, Miss Twilight?" came an aged voice of an elderly mare. Turning Twilight saw Granny Smith walking up to the two younger mares smiling.
"I am Granny Smith. Mike is such a Great guy." Twilight said smiling.
"He sure is. fits with you like a round peg in the right hole. reminds me of
Applejack's Ma and Pa." the old mare said smiling at the memory.
"Yeah, well I just wanted to see if you guys needed any help with the farm today?" Twilight asked.
"Oh we're fine Twilight don't you worry none, but if we do need anything we'll be sure to let you know." Applejack said smiling before hoofing over her a bag of fresh apples.
"Alright just wanted to check." Twilight said grabbing the bag with her magic and thanked the Apples before trotting off towards the Castle.
Tues. June 26 12:28 pm Twilight's Castle
Twilight was sleeping in her bed after a small dinner with her number one assistant Spike and her pupil Starlight Glimmer as well as her Brother Shining Armor and sister-in-law Cadence who showed up for a visit after some business with Princess Celestia, who had showed up as well to see how her former student was doing. at dinner she was told by Celestia how she liked Mike and thought He was a nice guy but how she never did any sort of romance when she was younger as she was too busy with royal duties to attempt any such thing. As twilight slept she heard something ring and jumped awake and looked around, seeing a small crystal ball shake and chime. Groggily she got out of bed and answered it tapping it with her horn.
"Hello?" she asked.
"Twi? Hun were you asleep?" the voice of Mike Adams asked on the other end.
"A bit why?" she asked.
"Babe the experiment remember?" Mike said chuckling.
"Oh shoot I forgot sorry! I'll be right there." she said and quickly but quietly exited the castle and flew to Everfree Mall camera and paper and quill's in hand. She saw a large truck and Chewie sitting outside on the parking lot licking herself.
"Hey Chewie where's Mike?" Twilight asked as the cat rubbed against her foreleg.
Just then the back of the truck opened up and steam rolled out of it and from the steam came a 2017 Ford Mustang with strange objects protruding from the back and wires around the edges of the tires and up to the front of the car. then Mike stepped out and smiled.
"Mike!" Twilight said smiling and giving her Colt-friend a hug.
"Twi glad you made it!" Mike said smiling.
"Of course I did. what is this you got here?" She asked.
"Welcome to my latest experiment!" He said.
"It's a Ford Right?" She asked.
"Yes but no time for that now roll tape!" Mike said and stood in front of the car while Twilight rolled the camera.
"Good morning, I'm Doctor Mike Adams, I'm standing here at Everfree Mall it's 1:15 am in the year 1006 C.R and this is temporal experiment No. 1." He said to the camera he then picked up his cat and put her in the car, "please note that Chewie's watch is in direct sink with my control watch."
Mike then closed the door of the Mustang and using a remote control found on miniature radio controlled cars, he drove the car to the end of the parking lot.
"If I did my math right, when this baby hits Ninety-Eight miles per hour, You're gonna see something awesome!" then he flipped a switch on the control and revved up the car, when it got to eighty eight he flicked the switch again and the car roared towards them going faster and faster. Twilight tried to move away but Mike pulled her back telling her to keep watching. Then just before the car hit them lights flashed in front of the car and then it disappeared leaving a trail of fire between their legs.
"What did I tell you?! Ninety-Eight miles per hour!!!" Mike said excitedly.
"Sweet Celestia!! Sweet Celestia Mike You disintegrated Chewie!!"
"Relax Twi, the molecular structure of both the Mustang and Chewie are intact."
"Well where are they?" She asked.
"the appropriate Question is 'when are they?' you see Chewie just became the Worlds third time traveller!! I sent her into the Future! 20 minutes into the future to be exact."
"Wait wait Mike you're saying you built a Time Machine out of a Mustang?" Twilight asked.
"why not? the way I see it if you're going to travel through time why not do it with some style? besides the steal structure of the car-" he started then the watch beeped and Mike shoved Twilight out of the way just as the same light from before appeared again and and soon after the Mustang with it covered in Ice sliding to a stop.
Twilight and Mike slowly stood up and Mike walked towards the car but stopped when it shot out smoke from the giant exhaust fins. He then took a deep breath and began walking again and as he touched the car the let go very quickly and shook his hand around.
"What is it hot?" Twilight asked.
"It's cold! Air cold." Mike said and touched the door again this time with his foot opening it showing Chewie still alive.
"AHA! Chewie's clock is one minute behind mine and still ticking!!!" he said and took the watch off the cat and she got out.
"She's alright"
"Of course she is! as far as she's concerned the trip was instant. thats why her clock is one minute behind mine!!" Mike said, "she skipped over that minute to arrive at this moment in time here let me show you how it works."
He then sat in the car grinning like a school colt out of excitement saying,
"First you turn the Time Circuits on!" He said and flipped a switch on the median between the driver and passenger side seats and pointed to three digital displays saying, "top one tells you where you're going, middle tells you where you are, bottom tells you where you were. you input the designated date on the Keypad here. say you want to see the declaration of America's indipendance," he siad and put in the date, " or see the beginning of the world," he then put that date, "heres a great day in the history of Magic and science June 5. 1000." he said and smiled, "of course June 5, 1000."
"What/ What is it?" Twilight asked.
"That was the day Star Swirl and I came up with Time Travel! I remember it vividly, Star Swirl and I were going over Ideas, I sat down and then something fell from my shelf and landed in my lap, then it hit us. we made the spell. but it wasn't finished it could only send you back 20 years and forward the same. but after you and I met and had our little adventure and I was brought back to life, I made this! The Time Generator. this is what makes my machine work along with the spell of course." Mike said.
"Time Generator." Twilight said in awe, "wait the spell? You mean to tell me this thing is using advanced magic?!"
"shhhhhh!!!! No no this is Electrical, but I need the spell to generate the energy I need." Mike said.
"Honey you don't just walk into a store and pick up advanced magic!!" Twilight said.
"I know I stole it from some Neighraqi Terrorists who wanted to build a bomb. but I hid my tracks well and as far as Equestria is concerned this is as much my spell as well as Star Swirl's. Things have certainly changed. I remember when this was farm land and Applejack's Grandpear owned it all, he had an idea about cross pollinating apples and pears." Mike said. then he saw some lamps in the distance,"My God they found me, I don't know how but they found me, Run Twi!!"
"Who found you?"
"The Neighraqi's!!"
Then a small van drove up and one Pony who happened to be a unicorn fired a spell out of his Horn and hit Mike in the chest killing him.
"NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! YOU BASTARDS!!!" Twilight roared but then the unicorn fired a spell at her and she dove into the Mustang closing the door. she then began to drive out of fear away from the ponies who gave chase.
"Alright, let's see if you Psycho's can do 100." She said and hit the gas but as she turned around in the parking lot, the car hit Ninety-eight and with a flash of light and stream of fire she disappeared.
chapter 2 "is this the 00's?"
June 5, 1000 c.e Ponyville
In a Flash of light the scenery around Twilight changed from that of the Mall Parking lot to that of a field and her driving into a scarecrow then into a barn screaming loudly and crashing. The nearby house's lights turned on and four ponies stepped outside towards their barn opening the door, a shotgun in the older stallion's hooves, to see the thing that crashed into their barn.
"What is it Pa?" the eldest mare asked.
"it looks like a Carriage, without ponies pulling it!" the stallion said.
"That ain't no Carriage, Look!" said a young colt and showed his family a magazine with a science fiction alien and it's space craft that looked oddly similar to the car. Then Twilight stepped out covered in her magical radiation suit and the ponies screamed and ran before closing the door.
"Hey wait!!" Twilight said but tripped on a bale of hay. Only to flip up the mask and see a cow eating. She then got up again and exited the barn calling out.
"Excuse me um, Sorry about your barn" only to dodge a bullet from a shotgun shell going through the barn door to which she fell backwards shocked.
"It's mutating into Pony form shoot it! Shoot it!!" came the colts voice. Twilight hid behind the door of the barn as the Stallion shot again and yelled,
"Take that you mutated slug!!" Twilight quickly got out of there getting back into the mustang and drove off, hitting a small sapling of a cross pollinated apple and pair tree.
"My Tree!!" the Stallion cried out and shot at the car only to hit the mailbox as the car continued to drive off.
As Twilight drove on she tried to calm down
"Ok Twilight It's just a dream a very intense dream..." she said then looked to the right and saw a sight that shocked her to her core. The Castle was gone as well as the housings surrounding it. She then saw a carriage come by and tried to slow them down but the ponies were too scared and kept going.
"This isn't happening." she said and went back to the machine and tried to turn the Circuits on but they turned off as soon as she did then an alarm sounded and she turned to see a gauge she didn't notice saying the Magic was gone from the machine. Frustrated she grabbed her things and started walking down a road with a sign saying "Ponyville 2 miles."

When Twilight arrived in Ponyville she was shocked at what she saw. Old carriages, record shops, the Ponyville theater showing old movies, but the one constant was the clock tower that also served as town hall.
"This has got to be a dream.." she thought then saw a newspaper in the trash and grabbed it looking at the date: June 5, 1000.
'It can't be....I'm in the past.' she thought then saw an old sight. The library. She quickly ran towards it and entered.
"Hello miss, whoa Nice wings!" A mare behind the counter said.
"I'm sorry?" Twilight asked.
"You're wings! Oh wait they're fake aren't they? Nopony has a horn and wings except the Princesses and they're only Fillies."
"Um, yeah...fake..may I see your Ponyville legends section?" Twilight asked.
"Of course it's in the back." the mare said.
"Thank you." Twilight said and quickly went to the back of the library. She then scanned the books title's to find one she recognized as "the Spirit of the Everfree Forest."
"Good you're still here." Twilight said and then walked to the front and asked, "could you point me in the direction of the Ev-"
"Did you find what you were looking for?" the librarian interrupted.
"Uh yeah. I did. Thank you." she said. Then out of the corner of her eye she noticed a small Draquoniqus with a black and white mane and tail. Then the doors opened and in walked two young guards as if they were from the academy.
"Hey Discord! What do you think you're doing?," One Academy student asked. He was a big Colt almost towering over Twilight if it wasn't for her age, "Hey I'm talking to you you Radiation freak!"
"Oh Hey Beef, Hey guys!" Discord said as if he was old friends with the three Colts
"Hey did you get my homework finished?" Beef asked.
"Uh, well I figured since it wasn't due till later I could-" Discord started.
"Hello!! Hello!! Think Discord Think! I have to have time to recopy, do you realize what would happen if I handed in my work with your writing? I'd be kicked out of the Academy. You wouldn't want that to happen would you?" Beef asked but when Discord didn't answer he reiterated his last question then grabbed him by the neck hard.
"O-Of course not Beef" Discord choked out and then was released. No sooner had that happened Beef said, "What are you looking at Sweet Cheeks?" to which one of his goons replied "hey Beef check these out! Her wings must be made of cardboard!" then they all laughed to which Twilight fumed but let it go to which Beef turned to Discord and asked "So about my work Discord?"
"Alright, let me finish it up tonight and I'll bring it first thing tomorrow morning." discord said taking a sip of his glass of chocolate milk then threw the milk in the trash.
"Yeah not too early I sleep in Sundays, Oh look Discord there's a spider on your foot!" Beef said then when Discord looked down he Slapped him in the face to which hes goons laughed as they got ready to leave, "Don't be so gullible Discord, I don't want to see you in here again!"
Twilight could only stare at Discord as Beef and his gang walked off. This was Discord?! Princess Celestia's enemy? He was so wimpy and weak! How he took over Equestria was-
"What?" asked Discord as he looked at her.
"You're Discord" she said stunned
"Yeah and who are you?"
But Twilight never got to speak as a yellow furred mare with green eyes, glasses, and pink mane said, "say what do you let those jerks push you around for?"
"Well they're stronger than me" Discord said this only made the mare huff in annoyance,
"Stand tall friend, have some respect for yourself, don't you know if you let ponies walk all over you now, they'll be walking on you for your whole life! Look do you think I'm going to be a librarian my whole life?" the mare started to which the head librarian said "watch it Index!" but she just continued to rant, "no sir! I'm going to make something of myself I'm Going to school and I'll-"
"She's going to be mayor!" Twilight said once she realized it was Mayor Mare.
"Mayor....now that's a good idea I'll run for mayor"
"A Mare mayor that'd be the day" the librarian said shaking her head.
"you watch Mrs. Keeper I will be mayor! I'll be the most popular mayor in Ponyville and I'm going to clean up this town!"
"Good you can start by sweeping the floor" The librarian, Mrs. Keeper, said and handed her the broom.
"Mayor Index Mare, I like the sound of that!"
Twilight shook her head and sighed before she looked up and saw Discord was gone but then heard a bike bell and saw him riding on it to which she took off running after him calling out, "hey Discord wait!"
