A Grimm Situationby TrueKingPwnyChaptersChapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 1"I want to double check that everypony is ready," said a lavender coated alicorn, or a rare kind of pony that had both wings and a horn. This is Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship and bearer of the Element of Magic. "I don't want to have to go back for anything". "Calm down, sugarcube. I'm certain that everything will be fine," a orange earth pony, or a pony that had neither wings nor a horn, but made up for it with their strength and connection with the earth. This is Applejack, bearer of the Element of Honesty and proud member of the Apple family. "I don't know, Applejack," said another earth pony, this one being pink. "My Pinkie Sense gave me a doozy when I was coming here" "Maybe we should wait?" a yellow pegasus, or a pony with wings, quietly suggested before a louder, cyan pegasus spoke over her. "Come on, Pinkie. What's the worst that could happen?" This caused a majority of the room to glare at the pegasus. "What?" These ponies were Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. Pinkie was the local party planner and bearer of the Element of Laughter, Fluttershy was the bearer of the Element of Kindness and acted as an animal caretaker, and Rainbow Dash was the bearer of the Element of Loyalty and self-proclaimed fastest pegasus in Equestria. As Twilight tried to explained to Rainbow why she shouldn't say that phrase, the final three individual that were also going was talking among themselves. "No offense, Rarity," said a pale mulberry coated unicorn, or a pony that is capable of using magic through their horn, to her friend, a unicorn with a white coat. "But do you really need all this?" "Of course, I do," replied Rarity, bearer of the Element of Generosity and owner of the Carousel Boutique. "What if I need a change of outfit or I get dirty?" "You could always asked the other Rarity," Replied Starlight, former villain and even more recently, Twilight's personal student. "I mean, we don't know how the portal will affect your clothes" "She has a point," said a small purple dragon named Spike. Spike is the personal assistant for Twilight and the Hero of the Crystal Empire. "If the portal caused you to lose those clothes, imagine the time it would take to remake them" "You're right," she said with a sigh. "It took forever to make some of these dresses. It would be a tragedy if something were to happen to them. I was looking forward to showing them to the other Rarity" "You know, that will get pretty annoying fast," Starlight said as she rubbed her head. "I mean, beside Sunset and I, there is two of each of us. If someone want the pony Rarity, both our Rarity and the other Rarity will respond" "Oh my, that does raise some concerns," said Rarity as she started imagining the chaos that could happen. "Don't worry," Spike said with a shrug. "I'm sure that Twilight already figured out a solution". As he finished his statement, Twilight finished trying, and mostly failing, to explain the problem to Rainbow. "Okay, girls and Spike, are you ready to meet your counterparts?" she asked, getting confirmation from each of her friends. "Okay, let's go". If anypony paid attention to the machine, they would notice that some of the pistons weren't moving. Unfortunately, nopony did and they all entered the portal. Normally, the trip through the portal took less than a second, but they were in the colorful void for almost a minute. Twilight noticed this and was trying not to panic. "Is there somethin' wrong, sugarcube?" asked Applejack when she saw her friend's stressed face. "I don't know," yelled Twilight, getting everyone's attention. "It'd never took this long before" "Calm down, Twilight," Starlight said forcing Twilight to look at her. "Panicking won't help anypony" "But...," Twilight was quickly cut off by Starlight. "No," she said firmly. "You are one of the smartest ponies in Equestria and one of the most magically gifted ponies I've met. You can do this" "What if I fail?" Twilight said quietly. "What if you don't?" This was enough to convince Twilight to attempt something. "I need your and Rarity's help," after getting everypony into position, the two unicorns and lone alicorn forming a triangle with the rest in the middle, Twilight's horn started glowing and the other unicorn's horns started glowing soon after. A stream of magic went from each of their horns and connected to the other two horns, causing a bright light that make the middle group close their eyes. The light grew brighter and brighter and then, it was gone and, with it, the eight ponies. "Sir, a group of faunus were found in the Emerald Forest. I already sent a group of third years to get them and bring them to the care center here at Beacon," said a generic person that has no impact on the story whatsoever. "Hmm," responded a bespectacled man with silver hair. This is professor Ozpin, Headmaster of the prestigious hunter school, Beacon Academy. He took a sip from the mug he held in his hand. "Do you know how they got into the forest?" "No, sir, eyewitnesses have stated they saw a bright flash of light before finding the mentioned group, but, other than that, there is no clues" "Thank you," said Ozpin as he looked out his window. "You can leave now, John" "I'm so blaming Rainbow for this," said Twilight, now human with a pair of pony ears located on top of her head, wings on her back, and a horn poking out of her forehead, as she woke up in what seemed to be a hospital. "Well, I'm human, so that's a good sign" "Oh, you're awake," Twilight turned her head at the unknown voice. "I am Ozpin and you are currently in the care center of my school, Beacon Academy" "Nice to meet you, sir. My name is Twilight Sparkle" she replied politely. "Excuse me, but were there anyone with me when you brought me here?" "Yes," Ozpin took a second to take a sip from his mug. "All seven of them are waiting in a nearby room" "Thank you". Twilight started to stand up and Ozpin got ready to help steady her when he noticed she didn't show the same struggles her friends did. "Interesting," this caused Twilight to look at him. "It's just that your friends had trouble walking and yet, you don't" "Well, they don't have much experience in walking on two legs," Twilight quickly noticed the intrigued look on Ozpin's face. "It's a long story" "I see," was all Ozpin said as he opened a nearby door. "Are these your friends?" "Twilight!" yelled a pink blur as it tackled Twilight into a hug. At the yell, the other people in the room quickly gathered around Twilight. "I'm glad to see you too, Pinkie" "Are you okay?" Applejack asked with a concern look in her eyes. "Other than a minor headache, I'm fine," Twilight said. "What about you and the others?" "Starlight and I are also feeling the aftereffects of the spell, but other than that, we're fine," answered Rarity. "Yeah, did you really think that anything would keep me down?" said Rainbow as she used her wings to lazily float. Twilight was about to yell at Rainbow when Ozpin cleared his throat. "Who's the old guy?" "Rainbow!" yelled Twilight in irritation. "Don't worry," said Ozpin with a chuckle. "I know that my hair color is a bit strange" Ozpin took a brief pause to take a sip from his mug. "So, what now?" "Excuse me," said Spike. "Do you know where Canterlot High is?" "I'm afraid I don't know any place with that name" "Crystal prep?" a shake of the head. "Camp Everfree?" another no from the headmaster. "I wish I could help you, but I can't" said Ozpin. "The only thing I can do is offer you a place at my school" "Beacon Academy, right?" at Ozpin's nod, Twilight continued. "What do you teach here?" "Beacon Academy is a school for hunters and huntresses. Hunters are the name given to the people that fight against the Grimm, beings without a soul. They also help fight criminals and help civilians after a natural disaster" "Can you give us a moment to talk about it?" after getting a nod, Twilight pulled her friends into a huddle and they quickly and quietly discussed their options. A minute passed before Twilight gave Ozpin their answer. "We're in" "Good to hear," responded Ozpin. "If you will please follow me, I'll introduce you to a couple of people that will help gather what you'll need to attend Beacon" "What will we need?" asked Starlight. "Most importantly, a weapon to fight with and some combat clothes" Rarity perked up at the mention of clothes. "Other than that, a school uniform and a couple notebooks wouldn't hurt" "Umm, sir" said Fluttershy from behind Rainbow. "What if we don't like fighting?" "You know, you remind me of a student of mine" at Fluttershy's curious glaze, he continued. "Her name is Velvet and, like you, she doesn't care for conflict" "Why are you telling me this?" asked Fluttershy. "To let you know you're not alone," answered Ozpin. "Nobody truly enjoy fighting the Grimm, but they do it because they know that they can make a difference" "Ozpin, you need me?" asked a man with gray hair and red eyes. "Ah, Qrow, Thank you for coming" said Ozpin shaking Qrow's hand. "This is Qrow Branwen. He's going to help you forge your weapons" "I came as soon as I was able" said an attractive, but strict-looking, lady with blonde hair. "Right on time, Glynda" Ozpin said to the newcomer. "This is Glynda Goodwitch. She will help you unlock your auras and order your school uniform" "You called me for this?" asked Glynda. "I understand the uniforms, but anyone can unlock aura" "Yes, but I wanted you to help unlock their auras because, with eight people, that will take a lot of energy out of anyone" Ozpin takes a sip from his mug. "I figured that if us three worked together, it wouldn't be as tiring" Nearly two days has passed since the group of friends arrived at Beacon and they now had a weapon that they made themselves and combat clothes made by Rarity. Each of their auras were unlocked and semblances were discovered. Now, they were on an airship, along with several other people, heading back to Beacon. Chapter 2The Equestrian exchange students were sitting in one of the bullheads that was going to Beacon when they heard a commotion. "Ew, Yang, it's on your boots," yelled a young female with dark hair and red highlights on the tips. The person we was talking to was another female, this one being blonde and more mature looking. The Equestrian group watch in amusement as Yang freak out about what happened to her boot and the other female tried to keep Yang away from her. Well, with the exception of Rarity, who was devastated at the thought of clothing being ruined. "How can you find amusement in the destruction of a lovely pair of boots?" she said as she stood up. Her black dress flowing as her heels clicked on the floor of the aircraft. She placed her hand on Yang's shoulder in an attempt to calm her down. "Here, use this". Yang took the offered handkerchief and carefully wiped the vile bile off of her boots. "Thanks, I would give it back, but I doubt you want it," Yang said, now in a better mood now that her boots were clean. "You guess right, Yang," said Rarity, enlisting a look of surprise from Yang. Seeing this, Rarity decided to clarify, "I heard your name when your friend screamed it". She motioned to the young dark-haired female. "Oh, that is my sister, Ruby. She impressed the headmaster and got in two years early", Yang said with pride in her voice. "Yang, I didn't want people to know about that," whined Ruby, "now she'll treat me different" "Calm down, I could care less about how you got accepted," Rarity said before she turned to Yang. "Now let's find the scoundrel that ruined your boots" "He's right there," Ruby said pointing at the location of Rarity's friends. Rarity turned to her friends and found another person with them. The person was male with blonde hair. He had a sword in a sheath placed on his hip. He also didn't look well, his face slightly green. "I hope you have a good excuse for why you ruined Yang's clothes," Rarity said as she poked the blonde male in the chest. He didn't say anything, only moaned in discomfort. "Calm down, sugarcube. He ain't feelin' well and I doubt he did it on purpose," said Applejack as she tried to calm her friend. Her outfit was simple. Apart from her favorite stetson, she wore a white button-up shirt with the top button undone and a pair of jeans. Rarity was still upset, but Yang forget about her clothes for a second as she looked at Fluttershy. Clad in only a sweater and a pair of baggy pants, she definitely had the cute factor going for her, but what was troubling Yang was something completely different. 'I can't believe she's bigger than me' Yang thought before turning to the others. "Hey, I'm over it. Besides, it could of been worst." Rarity let out a sigh of defeat. "So, I'm Yang and this is my sister, Ruby" "You already know Rarity. I'm Applejack," she said before gesturing to each of her friends. "This is Fluttershy". Fluttershy didn't say anything, just buried her head in her long pink hair. "She's pretty shy, but a great friend" "Name's Rainbow Dash, fastest in all of Equestria," bragged Rainbow Dash. Her outfit was a light blue tank-top and black shorts. A pair of goggles rested on her forehead. "I'm pretty fast myself. Want to race sometime?" asked Ruby. "Anytime, anyplace" "I'm Twilight Sparkle," she spoke up, not wanting Rainbow to start a scene before they even arrive. She wore a business casual outfit that has a lavender shirt covered by a dark purple vest. "My name is Pinkie Pie. Do you like sweets? I like sweets. I can't wait to meet all these new people and be able to throw a party," she would have continue if her mouth wasn't covered by Rarity. "I'm plenty excited myself, but I think that maybe they don't need the full Pinkie right away. Why not, uh, one-fourth Pinkie?" "That is a great idea. If you give a person a whole cake, it won't last as long as a cake given in pieces and it's easier to eat". Nobody argued with that logic because they didn't see any logic in that statement. She wore a pink short sleeve shirt with the words, 'Party Girl' and a pair of booty shorts. "I'm Spike," said the green haired male, pulling a hand out of his purple hoodie's pocket to wave. "How old are you?" asked Yang, seeing how young he looked. "If I remember correctly, I should be twelve years of age. "TWELVE!" Yang and Ruby shouted at the time, surprising Spike and the others. Fluttershy leapt behind Rainbow and Spike fell onto the floor along with the sick blonde male. "What's the big deal?" asked Spike, rubbing his sore head. "With the exception of you and me, everyone is seventeen when they first enter Beacon Academy. I'm fifteen years old and I only got in because I manage to impress the headmaster. You got in five years before anyone else and I don't even know why," Ruby explained with a pout at the end. "When you say headmaster, do you mean Ozpin?" asked Twilight. "Yeah, why?" asked Ruby with a slight blush of embarrassment at her previous outburst. "He was the one that recommended we attend Beacon," explain Starlight. Her outfit was also a business casual with a violet shirt and black skirt that had her cutie mark on the side. Seeing the slightly confused looks on Ruby's and Yang's faces, she realized she haven't introduced herself yet. "Sorry, I am Starlight Glimmer" "You guys have weird names," Yang said with her normal level of tack, which is none. "Yang, you can't just say that," said Ruby. "We don't mind. In fact, back home, most of your names would be consider strange," explained Twilight. "where are you from?" asked Ruby because she never met anyone with such strange names. "we're foreign exchange students. Our home of Equestria is a long way away," said Spike. "I never heard of that place," said Ruby. "I would be surprised if you did," said Starlight. "yeah, it's in a whole 'nother 'mumble'" Pinkie's mouth was blocked by an apple from Applejack. "It's best to just accept that Pinkie doesn't make any sense," Spike whispered to Ruby, who nodded. "It seem like we're about to land," Fluttershy said looking out the window. "Why don't we continue this when we land?" suggested Twilight, getting approval from the others. Chapter 3 "Wow," exclaimed Rarity as she look out the windows. "I can see Signal," pointed out Ruby before adding, "I guess home isn't that far away". "Beacon's our home now," said Yang as she put her arm around her little sister. "Ooh, should I have a party to celebrate us getting a new home?" asked Pinkie. Before anyone could answer her, she said, "You're right. The answer is always yes". She began humming as the other Equestrian groaned. "Pinkie, what did we talk about?" asked Rarity, wondering if her hyperactive friend already forgot their conversation. "I'm just going to throw a small party," said Pinkie before pouting, cause she wanted to throw a big one. "Okay," said Rarity before she started talking to Yang about what was fashionable here. Meanwhile, Ruby decided to talk to the youngest Equestrian. "So, Spike?" she asked. "Yeah?" Spike said, letting Ruby know that he heard her. "I was wondering how you got into Beacon five years early," Ruby was now leaning forward. "Sorry, but I can't really explain that," said Spike with a nervous chuckle. "We have some secrets that right now we have to keep secret". "I understand," said Ruby with a frown. "I don't like it though". "I wish I could tell you," said Spike, "but we agreed the less people that know, the better" "Well" she said, drawing out the well, "when we land, can I see your weapon?" "Umm," Spike wasn't sure how to answer that. "Please?" pleaded Ruby before adding, "I show you mine if you show me yours". Thankfully, Spike was saved from Ruby by the Bullhead landing and Yang dragging her away. Spike and the other watched as she struggled in her older sister's grasp. They were about to leave when the blonde male from earlier ran by and went straight to the nearest trash can and empty his stomach. "Poor guy," said Fluttershy softly. "I hope he gets better". Everyone agreed with Fluttershy's statement. "Okay, we need to find the auditorium," said Twilight before she grabbed Pinkie was walking away. "We'll have the party after the first day of class". "Oh, I wasn't walking away to throw the party," said Pinkie. "I was going to find Ruby". "Good idea," said Starlight surprised. "What if she doesn't know where the auditorium is?" "Fine," Twilight sighed, "Lead the way, Pinkie". It didn't take long before they found the young female. She was getting yelled at by a female in a white outfit. Noticing the red mist that was pouring out of the bottle she was shaking, Twilight quickly used her semblance to pull Ruby and the other girl away. "What was that for?" exclaimed the unknown female. "Are you stupid?" shot back Twilight, surprising everyone. Grabbing the bottle Weiss was holding, she held it up, "I trust you know what this is?" "Of course, it's dust," the girl said before adding, "My Dust" "Well, your dust container has a broken seal and your shaking was causing it to spill out," said Twilight. "If Ruby had sneezed or done something to ignite it, both of you could have gotten hurt". "Well, it wouldn't have been broken if she didn't fall on it," she said, pointing at Ruby. "I said that I was sorry," shouted Ruby, getting another female's attention as she walked by. "Did she?" asked Twilight. "Yes, but..." started Weiss in an attempt to defend herself. "No," interrupted Twilight. "Listen, why don't we put this behind us?" "but..." said Weiss, ready to complain again. "Geeze," groaned Rainbow. "Even Trixie was more agreeable than this princess" "She was more annoying though," added Applejack. "It's heiress, actually," said a black haired female with amber eyes. "Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company". "Finally, some recognition," Weiss said. "The same company infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners," said Blake, to Weiss's annoyance. "Why you..." Weiss was ready to rant at the newcomer. "CALM DOWN!" everyone turned to look at Fluttershy, who looked like an upset puppy. "Sorry for the outburst, but I hate fighting" "Yeah," Pinkie said as she pulled Weiss and the new girl into a hug, to their annoyance. "Why don't we forget about this stuffy business stuff and be friends?" "I would just nod and go along with her," said Starlight, seeing both girls about to argue. "Once she have an idea, it's next to impossible to convince her to not do it". With a sigh, the two girls was dragged by the, surprisingly, strong Pinkie. "You clearly already know me," started Weiss, staring at the other female. "But I don't remember meeting you". "That's because we never met," said the female. "Blake Belladonna". "So..." said Weiss before trailing off. She shouldn't be like this. She was upset about what Blake said, but she heard people say it before. The Schnees have been attack before, both violent and non-violent. Some days, she hear about how a member of the staff went missing, but on others, she would look out and see a group of people, most faunus, standing at the gate, yelling something. She could hear parts, but never the full message. Maybe that's why. Or maybe it's because she was already upset from her interaction with that annoying girl. "So?" Blake said, breaking the heiress out of her thought. The Schnee Heiress was about what she expected. Stuck up, prissy, and thinks she owns the world. Blake will admit that she said the part about the labor forces for two reasons. First, to see the Heiress's reaction and second, to let her know that people know her secrets. She half-expected her to not be affected and shrug or say 'so?', but she was angry. Why? Blake won't pretend that there's any positive feelings between her and any of the Schnees, but she was curious. Did she not know about this? No, I saw people protesting it in front of their mansion. Maybe she never heard it? Blake couldn't ask her because that would be suspicious. "Sorry," said Weiss quietly, "for being so awkward. It's hard talking to someone who just insulted you". Blake raised an eyebrow, not that Weiss saw. 'Insulted you?' she thought, 'I insulted the company. Maybe she took that as an insult on herself' "I'm sorry too". she wasn't really, but she knew she may be stuck with her and she didn't want to deal with a upset heiress. "I had friends that were faunus and they were rather upset about the labor forces". Not a lie, she did have friends in the White Fangs, even if she was Adam's partner. "I guess I agreed with them and took it out on you". "No, you meant it," said Weiss with a sigh. "I know..." she started. It felt good, not having people look up at you. Whenever people met her, They would imagine that she would be perfect, even her own father. Whenever she would do a training exercise, she would hear him say, 'as expected from a Schnee'. Never 'good job, Weiss' or 'I'm proud of you'. Even to her own father, she wasn't Weiss. She was a Schnee and she was expected to act like one. "Sorry". She wasn't comfortable sharing that yet. Blake still thought she was another Schnee. She just saw that as a negative, unlike most others. "Don't worry," said Blake with a shrug. "We all have stories that we don't like sharing". Blake was surprise how easy it was to talk to her. She expected to be constantly needing to pull her hair out, but Weiss was a great conversationalist. They weren't friends, but Blake can't claim to dislike her as much as before. 'And the only reason we're having a civil conversation is because of a horse faunus with pink hair' "Umm," Weiss started, unsure how to phrase her question. "What kind of faunus are you?" she chose the direct approach, to Blake's amusement. "I mean, your ears tell me that you're most likely horse faunus, but some of you have wings or horns or both" "I agree," said Blake. 'Never thought I would agree with Weiss'."While different faunus have had kids, the kids always show signs of one parent or the other, never both". "There are also the rare cases in which two humans give birth to a faunus, or vice versa," Weiss added. "Oh, well..." Twilight paused to figure out how to tell them without revealing the truth. She hated lying, not as much as Applejack, but close. Thankfully, she was saved when they heard a voice. "Hey," shouted a blonde male as he ran over to them. Stopping a bit to catch his breath, he gave the group plenty of time to recognize him. Unfortunately for him, Ruby was the first to speak. "Hey, you're the guy who threw up on the Bullhead," said Ruby, pointing. At this statement, Weiss and Blake took a step back. "Hey, motion sickness is much more common than you think," he argued back weakly. "I didn't even know I had it". "How may we help you?" asked Twilight. "Oh no, you are not getting off that easily," said Weiss, unknowingly echoing Blake's thoughts. "You will answer my question". "Could you answer mine first, snow angel?" said the blonde with a embarrassed smile. "I'm kinda lost, so could you... ow!" The blonde's face now had a red handprint from Weiss's hand. "Don't call me that," said Weiss. It wasn't the worst nickname she heard, but it was annoying. "I will assume you are a student here and are looking for the auditorium". The male nodded. "We would appear to be heading the same way. If you agree to not call me that or any other nicknames, you may occupy us". "Deal, uhh," said the blond before trailing off. "What's your name. "Shouldn't you introduce yourself before asking for someone else's name?" shot back Weiss, surprised someone didn't know who she was, even if she didn't show it. "Oh, right, sorry," the male apologized before standing up straight. "Name's Jaune Arc. Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue. Ladies love it". "Do they?" Ruby asked the question that most of them was thinking. "They will, or at least that's what my mom said..." Jaune paused to register what he just said. "I'm going to stop talking. "That would be wise," said Weiss before she held out her hand. "Weiss Schnee". Here come the reaction. "Nice to meet you," Jaune said, shaking her hand. Weiss was, again, surprise, but she didn't let it show. 'has he never heard of me or my family?' she thought. She continued to think about how she keep meeting people who don't expect perfection from her. She heard the other introduce themselves, but she didn't talk. "I'm Ruby Rose" "Blake Belladonna" "Name's Rainbow Dash, remember it. Oh and that's Fluttershy" "Nice ta' meet ya. Name's Applejack" "It's a pleasure, dear. I'm Rarity" "Hey, I'm Spike" "Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie..." "sorry 'bout her. I'm Starlight Glimmer" "My name is Twilight Sparkle". "So..." Ruby started. "Can I see your weapons?" "Hmm," responded a bespectacled man with silver hair.
"Can I see your weapons?"
