Chapter 3

"Wow," exclaimed Rarity as she look out the windows.

"I can see Signal," pointed out Ruby before adding, "I guess home isn't that far away".

"Beacon's our home now," said Yang as she put her arm around her little sister.

"Ooh, should I have a party to celebrate us getting a new home?" asked Pinkie. Before anyone could answer her, she said, "You're right. The answer is always yes". She began humming as the other Equestrian groaned.

"Pinkie, what did we talk about?" asked Rarity, wondering if her hyperactive friend already forgot their conversation.

"I'm just going to throw a small party," said Pinkie before pouting, cause she wanted to throw a big one.

"Okay," said Rarity before she started talking to Yang about what was fashionable here. Meanwhile, Ruby decided to talk to the youngest Equestrian.

"So, Spike?" she asked.

"Yeah?" Spike said, letting Ruby know that he heard her.

"I was wondering how you got into Beacon five years early," Ruby was now leaning forward.

"Sorry, but I can't really explain that," said Spike with a nervous chuckle. "We have some secrets that right now we have to keep secret".

"I understand," said Ruby with a frown. "I don't like it though".

"I wish I could tell you," said Spike, "but we agreed the less people that know, the better"

"Well" she said, drawing out the well, "when we land, can I see your weapon?"

"Umm," Spike wasn't sure how to answer that.

"Please?" pleaded Ruby before adding, "I show you mine if you show me yours". Thankfully, Spike was saved from Ruby by the Bullhead landing and Yang dragging her away. Spike and the other watched as she struggled in her older sister's grasp. They were about to leave when the blonde male from earlier ran by and went straight to the nearest trash can and empty his stomach.

"Poor guy," said Fluttershy softly. "I hope he gets better". Everyone agreed with Fluttershy's statement.

"Okay, we need to find the auditorium," said Twilight before she grabbed Pinkie was walking away. "We'll have the party after the first day of class".

"Oh, I wasn't walking away to throw the party," said Pinkie. "I was going to find Ruby".

"Good idea," said Starlight surprised. "What if she doesn't know where the auditorium is?"

"Fine," Twilight sighed, "Lead the way, Pinkie". It didn't take long before they found the young female. She was getting yelled at by a female in a white outfit. Noticing the red mist that was pouring out of the bottle she was shaking, Twilight quickly used her semblance to pull Ruby and the other girl away.

"What was that for?" exclaimed the unknown female.

"Are you stupid?" shot back Twilight, surprising everyone. Grabbing the bottle Weiss was holding, she held it up, "I trust you know what this is?"

"Of course, it's dust," the girl said before adding, "My Dust"

"Well, your dust container has a broken seal and your shaking was causing it to spill out," said Twilight. "If Ruby had sneezed or done something to ignite it, both of you could have gotten hurt".

"Well, it wouldn't have been broken if she didn't fall on it," she said, pointing at Ruby.

"I said that I was sorry," shouted Ruby, getting another female's attention as she walked by.

"Did she?" asked Twilight.

"Yes, but..." started Weiss in an attempt to defend herself.

"No," interrupted Twilight. "Listen, why don't we put this behind us?"

"but..." said Weiss, ready to complain again.

"Geeze," groaned Rainbow. "Even Trixie was more agreeable than this princess"

"She was more annoying though," added Applejack.

"It's heiress, actually," said a black haired female with amber eyes. "Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company".

"Finally, some recognition," Weiss said.

"The same company infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners," said Blake, to Weiss's annoyance.

"Why you..." Weiss was ready to rant at the newcomer.

"CALM DOWN!" everyone turned to look at Fluttershy, who looked like an upset puppy. "Sorry for the outburst, but I hate fighting"

"Yeah," Pinkie said as she pulled Weiss and the new girl into a hug, to their annoyance. "Why don't we forget about this stuffy business stuff and be friends?"

"I would just nod and go along with her," said Starlight, seeing both girls about to argue. "Once she have an idea, it's next to impossible to convince her to not do it". With a sigh, the two girls was dragged by the, surprisingly, strong Pinkie.

"You clearly already know me," started Weiss, staring at the other female. "But I don't remember meeting you".

"That's because we never met," said the female. "Blake Belladonna".

"So..." said Weiss before trailing off. She shouldn't be like this. She was upset about what Blake said, but she heard people say it before. The Schnees have been attack before, both violent and non-violent. Some days, she hear about how a member of the staff went missing, but on others, she would look out and see a group of people, most faunus, standing at the gate, yelling something. She could hear parts, but never the full message. Maybe that's why. Or maybe it's because she was already upset from her interaction with that annoying girl.

"So?" Blake said, breaking the heiress out of her thought. The Schnee Heiress was about what she expected. Stuck up, prissy, and thinks she owns the world. Blake will admit that she said the part about the labor forces for two reasons. First, to see the Heiress's reaction and second, to let her know that people know her secrets. She half-expected her to not be affected and shrug or say 'so?', but she was angry. Why? Blake won't pretend that there's any positive feelings between her and any of the Schnees, but she was curious. Did she not know about this? No, I saw people protesting it in front of their mansion. Maybe she never heard it? Blake couldn't ask her because that would be suspicious.

"Sorry," said Weiss quietly, "for being so awkward. It's hard talking to someone who just insulted you". Blake raised an eyebrow, not that Weiss saw.

'Insulted you?' she thought, 'I insulted the company. Maybe she took that as an insult on herself' "I'm sorry too". she wasn't really, but she knew she may be stuck with her and she didn't want to deal with a upset heiress. "I had friends that were faunus and they were rather upset about the labor forces". Not a lie, she did have friends in the White Fangs, even if she was Adam's partner. "I guess I agreed with them and took it out on you".

"No, you meant it," said Weiss with a sigh. "I know..." she started. It felt good, not having people look up at you. Whenever people met her, They would imagine that she would be perfect, even her own father. Whenever she would do a training exercise, she would hear him say, 'as expected from a Schnee'. Never 'good job, Weiss' or 'I'm proud of you'. Even to her own father, she wasn't Weiss. She was a Schnee and she was expected to act like one. "Sorry". She wasn't comfortable sharing that yet. Blake still thought she was another Schnee. She just saw that as a negative, unlike most others.

"Don't worry," said Blake with a shrug. "We all have stories that we don't like sharing". Blake was surprise how easy it was to talk to her. She expected to be constantly needing to pull her hair out, but Weiss was a great conversationalist. They weren't friends, but Blake can't claim to dislike her as much as before. 'And the only reason we're having a civil conversation is because of a horse faunus with pink hair'

"Umm," Weiss started, unsure how to phrase her question. "What kind of faunus are you?" she chose the direct approach, to Blake's amusement. "I mean, your ears tell me that you're most likely horse faunus, but some of you have wings or horns or both"

"I agree," said Blake. 'Never thought I would agree with Weiss'."While different faunus have had kids, the kids always show signs of one parent or the other, never both".

"There are also the rare cases in which two humans give birth to a faunus, or vice versa," Weiss added.

"Oh, well..." Twilight paused to figure out how to tell them without revealing the truth. She hated lying, not as much as Applejack, but close. Thankfully, she was saved when they heard a voice.

"Hey," shouted a blonde male as he ran over to them. Stopping a bit to catch his breath, he gave the group plenty of time to recognize him. Unfortunately for him, Ruby was the first to speak.

"Hey, you're the guy who threw up on the Bullhead," said Ruby, pointing. At this statement, Weiss and Blake took a step back.

"Hey, motion sickness is much more common than you think," he argued back weakly. "I didn't even know I had it".

"How may we help you?" asked Twilight.

"Oh no, you are not getting off that easily," said Weiss, unknowingly echoing Blake's thoughts. "You will answer my question".

"Could you answer mine first, snow angel?" said the blonde with a embarrassed smile. "I'm kinda lost, so could you... ow!" The blonde's face now had a red handprint from Weiss's hand.

"Don't call me that," said Weiss. It wasn't the worst nickname she heard, but it was annoying. "I will assume you are a student here and are looking for the auditorium". The male nodded. "We would appear to be heading the same way. If you agree to not call me that or any other nicknames, you may occupy us".

"Deal, uhh," said the blond before trailing off. "What's your name.

"Shouldn't you introduce yourself before asking for someone else's name?" shot back Weiss, surprised someone didn't know who she was, even if she didn't show it.

"Oh, right, sorry," the male apologized before standing up straight. "Name's Jaune Arc. Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue. Ladies love it".

"Do they?" Ruby asked the question that most of them was thinking.

"They will, or at least that's what my mom said..." Jaune paused to register what he just said. "I'm going to stop talking.

"That would be wise," said Weiss before she held out her hand. "Weiss Schnee". Here come the reaction.

"Nice to meet you," Jaune said, shaking her hand. Weiss was, again, surprise, but she didn't let it show.

'has he never heard of me or my family?' she thought. She continued to think about how she keep meeting people who don't expect perfection from her. She heard the other introduce themselves, but she didn't talk.

"I'm Ruby Rose" "Blake Belladonna" "Name's Rainbow Dash, remember it. Oh and that's Fluttershy" "Nice ta' meet ya. Name's Applejack" "It's a pleasure, dear. I'm Rarity" "Hey, I'm Spike" "Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie..." "sorry 'bout her. I'm Starlight Glimmer" "My name is Twilight Sparkle".

"So..." Ruby started. "Can I see your weapons?"
