Secret Lightning [REWORK IN PROGRESS]
Chapter 9: Discovery
Previous ChapterNext Chapter=================SECRET LIGHTNING=================
Alright, so now marks the beginning of my academics cycle at my school, and also the begging of a time where updated chapters are shorter than I’d like them to be. Also, I am REALLY pissed at another friend of mine(no, not the one who was pissed at my story), not because he dislikes my little pony (everyone is entitled to their opinion in my mind. You don’t like it, so what), but because he has the STONES to tell me I need to “grow up and stop watching that shit” and maybe when I’ve “matured enough”, I can grow a set. I may be breaking brony code here, but I swear Derek, if I hear you say so much as one more thing to me on that topic, I’ll shove my steel-toe up your ass so far you’ll be coughing out a shoelace! I mean, I’ve seriously lost all respect for this kid. He used to be cool, a neutral non-brony, accepting and supporting of bronies, but lately he just make me want to……………I shall be cutting that thought short lest it end up in the hands of my school’s administration.
=================Chapter 9: Discovery=================
Matt’s training was completed. In a timeframe of about a week, the two alicorn sisters had trained him to wield, control, and focus his power, as well as giving him new ones. He now had control over lightning, fire, telekinesis, ice, wind, water, and earth. He could fling lightning bolts, as well as shape the lightning to do anything he wanted at will. He could hurl fireballs the size of Volkswagens now, and make the fire do anything, including a trick he figured out himself, which involved semi-limited, yet very fast “flight” by shooting fire down to take off, then down and back to “fly”, he could take off, land, and maneuver much like a human jumpjet.
But he had other powers as well. He could now lift and throw things from and to great distances with his telekinesis, and also perform a similar “flight” as he could with fire and air, but with much weaker results. He could also now control ice, in a few unique ways. He could flash-freeze things with a flick of his hand, or create ice bridges for him to walk or slide on.
As far as the air went, it was much simpler. He could mainly only muster strong gale and hurricane force winds, but with incredible precision. Other than that, not really all that much as far as special stunts. However, he was able to fly much more precisely when controlling air instead of fire, but with not even a quarter of the speed. Lastly, for earth, he was able to mold, shape, and completely control the earth in every way. For instance, he could create or level mountains if he was in the right mood.
Now, his orders had changed. He was now to escort Twilight to the other five once-human ponies scattered around Ponyville, as she cast a spell on each of them, effectively waking them up without freaking them out. But the problem, Matt realized, was catching a couple of them.
If I remember correctly, Rainbow Dash is the fastest flier in Equestria. Also, I scared the hell out of her the last time we met, and I doubt she’ll want anything to do with me. I may be able to fly somewhat fast, but I never broke the sound barrier. I just really hope our eventual encounter won’t involve me having to chase her.
He was abruptly snapped back to reality when Twilight spoke.
“Well, I guess we should start with Rainbow Dash, get the hardest part done first.”
He stopped thinking for a second to argue, and noticed his surroundings. They were back in Ponyville, walking towards a cloud house in the sky with rainbow waterfalls. Twilight was using her disguise spell again, back to the original purple unicorn mare everypony knew her as. Spike was walking next to them, looking about as lost in thought as Matt was before Twilight spoke. It was a wonder he didn’t walk into a tree or veer away from the path they were walking on, as he looked to be very deep in thought.
“I don’t think that’s such a good idea, the last time we met, I had just discovered my lightning power, and I scared the living hell out of her.”
“Well, then it makes it easier for us to start with her, as we won’t be all worn out by the time we need to get to her.”
“Alright, I see your point. even so, what’s the plan? If she’s asleep in her cloud house as you think she is, she won’t stay there for long with me around.”
“Well, just go up there and knock on her door, and we’ll go from there.”
“Fine”
He pointed his palms straight down toward the earth, flat and rigid, arms at his sides. Twin blasts of air shot from his hands, slowly lifting him off the ground. He increased the speed of the air, and was able to quite quickly lift himself up to the door of the cloud house. He never was a fan of heights, but since figuring out how to fly using his intriguing power, he suddenly wasn’t anymore. He knocked on the door, and waited as he heard somepony force themselves out of bed, and trudge to the door, and open it.
“What? What do you-EEP!” she jolted back in fear, knowing full well what this creature was. This same creature she did not recognize that was easily twice her size, had been the one to throw a lightning bolt at her that one night. Now here he was, FLYING?!? Fear overtook her again, and she bolted past him, and flew off into the sky.
Matt sighed. He knew this was going to happen. He could have seen it coming a mile away. He started to blame himself for being the one to throw the lightning bolt, when Twilight urgently interrupted him.
“Chase her! We need to at least calm her down if not restrain her so I can cast the spell! Go now, you can fly! I won’t be far behind!”
Matt nodded and angled his hands back, giving himself forward thrust. When he felt he had picked up enough speed, he contorted his body so that he was basically lying on his stomach, hands at his sides, angled slightly downward to keep the downward thrust. Once this was done, he started gaining speed, actually coming close to catching the cyan mare. He then decided to call out to her, in hopes of getting her to slow down.
“Calm down, Rainbow Dash, I am not going to hurt you, I just wish to talk.”
Surprised this creature was able to keep up with her, she gave another small yelp and rocketed forward, breaking through the sound barrier, creating a sonic boom with a rainbow that extended laterally on a horizontal plane. The sonic rainboom. This meant she was now traveling at close to mach 2 speeds, and was very quickly making distance between the two of them. Great. At this rate, he’d never catch up to her. However, as he passed through the shockwave from the sonic rainboom, he felt that same chilly tingling feeling he felt when he was absorbing an energy type. Wait. This might make a difference then. He pushed as hard as he could with his air power, then releasing a blast of his newly absorbed sonic rainboom energy, and quickly switched to full blast fire.
The human shape SCREAMED across the sky, blazing a trail of fire and rainbow across the sky. He zipped past Rainbow Dash, now aware of his inability to stop, and realized why. I never played with sonic rainboom and fire before, he thought, as he kept moving at nearly mach 4 speeds across the sky.
Matt was suddenly aware of a large tree rising to meet him as he kept going. He tried to pull up, or at least stop, but found he was going WAY too fast for that. Well, at least the tree appears hollow, was his last thought before he slammed headfirst into the tree, and the darkness of unconsciousness consumed him once again.
=================END CHAPTER 9=================
Hoo boy. Looks like he’s done it again! Why do I have him keep getting knocked out? It adds suspense and gives me something to work with, and possibly add a time jump to. Now I know I had also said this would be a bioshock crossover story, but I think I lied. I don’t know, there are more bioshock elements that will show up In time, but for now, the story is such a mishmash of so many different things, I don’t even know what to call it anymore. Having said that, would you kindly comment on my story and lat me know what you think?
