Her name was Gala Apple, and she was an apple of a different orchard. She and Applejack used to be favorite cousins, before they had a falling out many years ago that left Applejack feeling cold and bitter towards her.

Gala's murder has left the Apple family heartbroken, and Applejack now must fill the role her cousin left behind as an obligation to her family. Her feelings toward her cousin and her duty are up-heaved, muddled, leaving her confused with a choice she'd rather not make.
