I wake up in one of Applejack’s trees, my stomach growls at me, I grabbed an apple of the tree and bite into it. I snarled as a foul taste filled my mouth, I look at it to see it was rotten on the inside. I tossed the apple on the ground in disgust and quickly resumed my nap. I woke up and as I moved, I felt a sharp pain course through my forehoof, I looked up and screamed, it was black and rotten. I bolted out of the tree, and couldn’t find anypony.

Wait Applejack must be around somewhere, I flew over the orchard slowly until I saw Applejack bucking a tree. I looked at my still rotten forehoof only to find it had spread up my entire leg. I flew down rapidly only barely stopping behind Applejack. Applejack shouted as she turned around “Rainbow, what in the name of Tartarus are doing, flying that fast towards me?”

I said in panicked tone “Look at this, you’ll understand!”

I showed her my foreleg and her eyes widened to the size of dinner plates, She shouted “What in Discord’s name happened?”

I explained to her as calmly as I could “Well I woke up and wanted a snack so I had a bite of an apple but it was rotten, then I fell back to sleep only to wake with my forehoof rotting.”

Applejack gasped “This is bad, we need to speak with Granny Smith now!” She grabbed my good hoof and dragged me into her home. She shouted “Granny Smith, we have a big problem!”

I watched as the elderly mare slowly trotted down the stairs. Granny Smith trotted over to us. Applejack said as she showed Granny Smith my hoof “Look at this, this ain’t normal!”

Granny Smith ordered Applejack as she looked at my hoof closely “Get me 3 rotten eggs, a bucket of compost and another of fertiliser.”

Granny Smith said “Follow me, we need to get ya comfortable.” I entered the kitchen only to see a rocking chair there. Granny Smith said “Take a seat.”

I did as she said and then cried out “Why is this happening, I am the peak of fitness, I shouldn’t be getting sick like this.”

Granny Smith sighed “Ya have contracted Apple Rot, I don’t know how you did, apples are the only things that get affected by Apple Rot. I think ya might need to get some tests done after this is over.”

I sighed, I hated having anypony testing my health and I knew Twilight be the one I’d have to see. Applejack barged in carrying a lot of stuff, I didn’t know what any of it was. Granny Smith then began grabbing pots, pans and bottles. She then mixed some of the stuff Applejack brought into a bowl. I looked at my back only to see my feathers rotting, I cried, my wings granted me flight, my freedom and that was being taken away before my eyes.

Granny Smith shouted “We’re done.” After getting over the shock of my wings being destroyed, I noticed 3 of legs where rotting, then the pain struck at me. I gritted my teeth.

Applejack said “Drink this, Granny Smith said it would help.”

I looked at the disgusting bowl of goop, I chugged the whole thing and forced it down. It tasted horrible but to my surprise my legs didn’t just stop rotting but healed completely, my wings were the same. I shouted as I gave them both a huge hug “Thank you, I’m so grateful!”

Applejack said with a smile pushing me off “Well, you can stay in the house with me, I will need to take you to Twilight tomorrow to see what’s wrong with you, this ain’t normal.”

I sighed “I know, it’s just I’m worried she will do something, you know how she gets.”

Applejack said “That’s why Ah’m coming, because you need my help and friends help each other, I’ll make sure she doesn't go too far.” I nodded with a smile only to realise that she only had one bed. She couldn’t mean us doing that, I cleared the silly thought from my mind.

I asked “So where am I going to sleep?”

Applejack said “Right here with me, come on you have never slept on a bed with another pony before.” I blushed and my wings popped out. Applejack laughed as she said “Ah’m just messing with you, come on Dash lighten up, it’s just a bed.” I reluctantly climbed in.

She climbed in afterwards and she quickly fell asleep, I on the other hand couldn't get over what she said, I blushed slightly. Wait why am I blushing ? I don’t need a partner, I’m Rainbow Dash the fastest flier in Equestria. At the same time maybe having somepony to compete with is not so bad and she is beautiful in her own way, why am I thinking like this, this is stupid. Maybe I am just attracted to her physically, I’ll get over it tomorrow.
