The Everfree Forest: Midnight

The night was at its apex, the moon high up in the sky and shined brightly over the entirety of the vast Everfree forest that surrounded the outer rims of Canterlot City. It was what largely separated the city from others as the very next city over was Manehatten and then a few bridges away from that was Phillydelipha and so forth and so on. However what many didn't know was that this forest stretched much deeper than one would think, if one dug deep enough? They'd find the occasional gem cave or even on Oasis; which is exactly where great archaeologist, explorer and treasure hunter Daring Do found herself stumbling and quite literally tumbling into this time having stepped on just wrong stepping stone; or maybe it was the right one because the place in which she found herself was by her own words.

"Amazing." Daring said breathlessly as she came up from the water of the small river she had fallen into from the now caved in ceiling above her. As she swam to shore and shook herself off she rolled her shoulders and picked up her pith hat and placed it back on her head. The gun fight leading up to her little fall into this place certainly didn't help her poor hat, it was riddled with bullets but luckily all the goons who had followed her into this part of the forest were now very much dead and would make good food for the wild life.

"Looks like I found the right place...I think?" She looked in her journal to take note of the markings and symbols and matched them to certain statues which she had seen in certain parts of the forest just before she fell into this place. The markings were various horse symbols, one hard with wings, another with no wings, another with a horn but no wings and lastly one with a horn and wings.

"Okay so this must be one of the temples of the Gaia tribe. These symbols stand for strength, courage and honesty. All traits that the Gaia tribe shared. These shrines...these symbols...I've seen this before" Daring said with a wide eye expression as she took note of the markings on the statues in front of her. One had three apples and the other had three balloons! She just KNEW there was something strange about those seven girls ESPECIALLY that pink one. With a grin she finished jotting down her notes and drawing the symbols to be used later and then looked to see that to access the shrines and whatever they did, she would need what looked to be keys and she had a strong hunch the party girl and the cowgirl had them.

"I think it's time A.K. Yerling called her #1 fan for a favor; heheh you owe me one anyway kid." She said as she pulled out her phone to make the call but then saw she had no bars. Pouting her lips she groaned looking up to see she had A LOT of climbing to do in order to get up and out of there.

"Ah crap" Daring groaned and stretched her arms and rolled her shoulders. "Well least I'll get in some good cardio."

Meanwhile in Manehatten...

Rich Towers: Penthouse Suit

'We are so dead' Hoops thought as sweat beat down his face as he and his 'bro' stood before their new 'boss' who sat in a throne like seat in the middle of a big fancy penthouse. In the nearby corners lay two very large and hungry looking pit bulls tied down with chains but they looked so strong they could probably snap them with enough force. The boss himself was even more intimidating; he was large, all muscle and has freakishly huge arms that were covered in tattoos and scars. His face was the second most noticeable feature about him as he had one ugly mug or as he put it 'a mug his mother loved' hence his name. However in recent years that mug was made even uglier with the appearance of a rather jagged scar that went across the right side of his face.

"So you let her get away?" The large burly man said with clear underlined fury.

"W...We're sorry boss; she gave us the slip in the forest, she was too fa-gyahk!" The lanky goon didn't get to finish his sentence as he choked against the wall by a large muscular arm and struggled for air.

"Yo, Gabriel-" The man spoke up with a thick Manehatten twang in his voice.

"Garble..." He muttered

"Whatever! Wasn't I crystal clear that yous two was supposed ta bring in that loot snatching bitch alive?!" Yelled the large man who kept Garbles brother and fellow gangbanger choked up against a wall with his larger than average hand.

"Y-Yes you did boss; a-and we tried but she-" He shut his trap after the boss fired a warning shot a bit to close to his face and the bullet pierced the wall of the hotel room they were in.

"Shut.The Fuck.UP! I ain't havin' none of your damn excuses! I hired you and your fuckin' goons ta catch that bitch cause ya said you had control of this town and some influence in the next town over! Yet here ya are with half yer men fuckin' dead at the hands of ONE FUCKING WOMAN!"

Garble could not respond as he had nothing to say. What he had stated was true, only he and now the almost choked to death survivor of their party were left out of the few dozen armed guys that had been sent into the Everfree forest to recover some junk from a temple however they vastly underestimated Daring Do and her skills with a gun as well as her luck.

"Muggshot, please j-just give us another chance! We can get you what you need! she may have gotten away but she can't have gotten far and we know her little secret so we can corner her! Please we just need time-" Garble pleaded and then stopped when Muggshot near growled at him.

"The next batch of armory I give you better get the job done and this time?! I'm giving you pros to work with! Get your asses to Canterlot City and meet with Filthy Rich; he'll hook you up with everything you need tech wise on my tab. Then you're ta go and meet up with Gilda and her gang, they'll provide the guns and then finally my man Sombra will provide the manpower...you fuck this up? And I'm gonna feed you to my dogs!" He shouted and the aforementioned dogs barked and snarled jumping at Garble while still on their chains and his threat was not an empty one given that he'd just fed them a goon who tried to sell him out and they had just gotten done feasting on his bones.

"Y-Yes Muggshot, we won't let ya down! u-um could you uh-"

"Eh? Oh right...catch dweeb" Grinning he tossed the now knocked out goon to his superior gangbanger and they both scurried out of the penthouse in fear. Muggshot cracked a beer and gave a hearty laugh and kicked back. He then heard his phone go off and judging by the ringtone it was a member of the gang.

"Yeah? Uh huh, yeah the bitch got away but don't worry I got people on her trail...right, I'll handle it and let you know what comes up...and uh hey should I keep an eye out for...'him'...right...always look out for him. Got it." Muggshot sneered viciously as he rubbed a scar on the left side of his face that went across his eye and to his ear. "Soon it'll be time for round two Cooper!"

Meanwhile In Canterlot City

Canterlot City National History Museum: The Grand Library

"Eeeeee this.is so.AMAZING!!!" Twilight Sparkle beamed as she had literal stars in her eyes behind her glasses as she looked in amazement at the grand Canterlot Library. Behind her stood a proud and also smug looking Sunset Shimmer who was looking rather pleased with herself and the look on Twilight's face.

"Knew you'd like it here. They just opened up this exhibit, apparently there was a really old castle with a library full of ancient books that got discovered by a group of treasure hunters. Not sure if there was any treasure involved but they donated all of the books they found and opened up this library for people to read them and hopefully untangle whatever mysteries they hold! Isn't this great?!" Sunset asked nudging Twilight or as she had come to call her 'Sci-Twi' with a smile seeing that she had certainly impressed the little nerd. Easiest way to her heart was a good book.

"Oh it absolutely is! I'm so glad you decided to invite me here Sunset! It's been a rough couple of weeks since well...you know-?" Sci-Twi stated and fiddled with the little pink tie on her blouse and her happy face turned pouty for a brief moment. It had been now a whole month since she had broken up with Timber Spruce due to...complications.

"Oh don't sweat it Sci-Twi; you deserve to come out and have some fun! And I know the best way to put a smile on your face is to put a good book in front of it!" Sunset stated with equal charm and wit in her smile and body language.

"Not to mention A.K. Yearling is gonna be here! Can you believe it?!" Twilight said her smile threatening to split her face in two.

"I know right? Hard to believe Rainbow Dash actually knows her; funny the people you end up meeting during your summer vacations to daring do conventions" Sunset said with a chuckle and then noticed Twilight's pouty face but it was the more adorkable one this time.

"Hmph, I'm still mad I couldn't attend! I mean yes I had my duty to participate in Robotics Clubs All out robo smack down..." Twilight stated.

"-Which you won with a freaking robot dog!" Sunset exclaimed with a laugh.

"You all love robo-spike and you know it! Anyway yes we won but still I wanted to go so badly! And rainbow is clearly leaving out details of the story! I just know there is more to it!" Sci-Twi stomped her foot and fumed in the most adorable yet bratty fashion ever that made Sunset wanna squee.

"That's for her to know and us to find out I guess; c'mon Sci-Twi McSalty, lets go have fun looking at old books like a bunch of 'eggheads' as Dashie likes to call us." Sunset teased as she walked into the library and the entire time she could feel Twilight's eyes on her ass. 'Thank you Rarity for these sexy tight jeans!'

Seeing the shake in Sunset Shimmer hips made Sci-Twi blush and her glasses fog up. Pushing them up her now beat red face she giggled a dorky giggle and snorted as she followed behind Sunset and then Sunset took her hand and smiled that winning smile at her again.

"Ehehe yeah sure right you behind I am...uh I mean-" Sci-Twi said blushing and fumbling her words. Lately the two had been hanging out more and Sunset had been taking that time to tease the daylights out of Twilight every chance she got but in a kind hearted kind of way that in a good way reminded her how Timber used to tease and poke fun at her dorky tendencies. However right now her focus wasn't him nor the hussy he had decided to go along with in her stead. No her focus was on her friend who if she didn't know any better could swear was flirting with her! 'Just be cool Twily, take it slow and easy' She reminded herself.

"You're such a dork Twi; c'mon, Rainbow said she was already here; apparently there is a section of books that were used to inspire a few of A.K. Yearlings Daring Do books." She pulled the blushing geek along into the depths of the library which had an ancient yet regal feel to it. For Sunset it reminded her of the ancient libraries and tombs of Equestria that she had read about a few she actually explored with Celestia before her falling out with her mentor. She had seen the break up between Twilight and Timber Spruce had dampened the geeks passion for knowledge if only a little and she hated to see the girl so down and in the dumps regardless of her feelings for the girl. However it had been a month and Twilight was starting to open up again and so now? Sunset was done be subtle, done playing games(kind of), she wanted to win Twilight Sparkle's heart and she would use every ounce of her pony cunning to do it!

"O-Okay. Right" Twilight nodded and pushed her glasses back up once more as she followed behind Sunset whom held her hand and her other hand held onto the strap of her backpack that held the books she wanted autographed.

Meanwhile Elsewhere in the Museum.

"So do you see 'em buddy?" The large burly man in a mask asked looking over his friends shoulder as they hid in the rafters out of everyone's line of view.

"Yeah, just like the manuscript Guru decoded said. So those two are of the seven lights; Sunset and Twilight" The slimmer one with a blue cap and black bandit mask across his face stated as he looked through a pair of binoculars. Zooming in on the two he grinned his trademark smirk. "Looks like they're on a date; so this might get a little tricky."

"I'm pretty sure you can handle it Sly; but we need those geodes around their necks if we wanna open those chests that hold the relics." The short one in the wheelchair replied as he typed away on a digital computer screen and smiled when the screen flashed 'hack complete'. "Download complete and hack successful, I've got full access to this places security system and I've already insert my shadow program so you'll be off camera for a good 45 minutes. According to recon from earlier three of them are meeting here, its those two and the other one um....Rainbow Dash" He explained looking for their individual profiles on social media and saw that Rainbow had posted an update. This update got a bit of a worried chuckle out of the guy in the chair.

"Um Sly? You may wanna take a look at this-"

"Hm? What is i-oh ohohohoho this is gonna be even more fun than I thought!" Sly said with a devious smirk on his face as he looked on the girls mystable page to see her update that read:

'Libraires are total snooze feast unless you are going to see A.K. Yearling unveil a new book! Rocking out with fellow Daring Do fans Sci-Twi and Sun-Shim! Can't wait for this new adventure! #DDis20%Cooler'

"So Daring is gonna be here eh? I think its time I pay her a visit" Sly said with a chuckle as he scanned the area for her through his binoculars. To which this gets a groan from his two cohorts.

"Seriously Sly? You're doing this NOW?" The guy in the chair nagged

"Oh c'mon Bentley you act like getting her involved is a bad thing; besides it'll give ya a chance to have a chat with that cute new assistant of hers" Sly stated with a smug grin

"I-I mean but well we can't just but I-" Bentley blushed visibly and fumbled over his words

"Hehehe relax buddy you totally deserve a little action, besides she knows more about this kinda stuff than we do; a little help from her could go a long way in the long haul don't you think?"

"Plus she's a totally awesome cook!" Murray proclaimed.

"See? Even Murray wants to see her; so quit your whinin'." Sly said as he continued to search

"Ugh fine, this better not throw a wrench into the plans."

"Like I always say; make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the rails and then throw away the plan." Sly stated smugly.

"And that's gotten us into trouble how many times?" Bentley asked crossing his arms.

"And how many times has it saved our asses?" Sly retored

"Point taken" Bentley relented and then got a call in on his coms as he also hacked the local police communications and his eyes went wide with shock.

"Oh no..."

"What is it little buddy?" Murray asked

"Cops" Bentley groaned.

"Okay...and?" Sly replied

"Not just any cops...this cities head detective Shining Armor and he has a new partner sent by Interpol...give you three guesses who." Bentley states.

"Oh no way...can this day get any better?!" Sly said with a near maniacal grin on his face. Standing up he put his binoculars away and rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck . Looking back to his teammates and brothers he gave a two finger salute and said. "Don't worry guys; I got this!" He said jumping off the platform he was on only to completely vanish and then reappear in the crowd below, easily blending in with the rest of them as he followed the two teenage girls into the library.

"Something is totally gonna go wrong isn't it?" Murray said with a wry chuckle

"It's just our luck Murray; be ready to crack some skulls."

"The Murray is ready to rock!" Murray said pounding his fists together but then his stomach growled and he chuckled sheepishly. "Ehehe uh Bentley would you mind if-"

"'Go on to the snack bar and just don't get captured...or into any eating matches!" Bentley replied as Murray went off.

"Let it go it was just that one time!" Murray retorted back

As Murray left to go to the snack bar Bentley kept his screen up in order to monitor Sly and his progress. This was as Rainbow Dash put it; an adventure that was gearing up to start and go full throttle.
