Chapter One

Fairwell

The sun had risen into the sky and everyone in Ponyville was about to start the day off. Some of the ponies were getting an early start on work while others took the time to fuel up. On a nice day like this, a certain alicorn in the humble town on Ponyville was asleep in her chambers in the Castle of Friendship.

This alicorn was none other than Princess Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship and wielder of the Element of Magic. She laid peacefully in her bed in her button up purple star pajamas, until she caught the scent of freshly cooked food. She opened her eyes slowly and let out a yawn. She rubbed her eyes as she got out of bed.

Twilight walked out of her room, following the delicious smell that lead her straight into the dining room where her number one assistant, Spike was waiting. In the eighteen years she’s known him, there was no doubt he was an accomplished cook. Twilight’s eyes locked on the fine spread that Spike put on the table. There were pancakes, hash browns, eggs and a couple of bowls of oatmeal for her and Spike to munch on.

“Spike, this looks delicious!” Twilight said, impressed.

“Thanks, Twilight. I wanted to make something special for you since you’ve been working hard late last night.” Spike replied, sincerely.

“Well that’s very kind of you, Spike. I guess I did overwork myself last night.” Twilight said, scratching the back of her neck.

“Yeah, maybe you should start taking it easy and rest a little more next time. Too much work can sometimes put stress on your brain.”

“I’ll keep that in mind, Spike. Now let’s eat, I’m starving.” Twilight chuckled. They both sat down in their chairs and served themselves large portions of food. Twilight grabbed a fork and knife and started off by taking a bite of her pancakes. She moaned blissfully from how good her pancakes tasted.

Spike chuckled at Twilight’s adorable expression and took big bites of his pancakes, bloating his cheeks up. Twilight put her hand over her mouth as she giggled at Spike’s puffed up cheeks.

Just as Spike gulped down his first big bite, his stomach rumbled causing him some discomfort and soon, he burped out a green flame which then spiraled and turned into a letter, with the royal seal wrapped neatly around the paper. Spike looks at it and unseals the letter, reading it out loud.

“Dear Twilight and Spike

Sorry to disturb you this early, but I’d like to have a word with you both at my castle. It’s nothing urgent, I can assure you. But it’s something I’ve been meaning to talk to the two of you for years. I’ll even send for a chariot to come and pick you up. Just send me a letter whenever you’re ready.

Signed
Princess Celestia”

“Huh, knowing the princess it must be important.” Whenever Celestia sends a letter telling Twilight it wasn’t urgent, it usually is. But what is the problem now the alicorn wonders? She highly doubts it a friendship problem, or that any monsters were spotted in a nearby area. But one thing’s for sure, Twilight and Spike were curious to find out what the princess wanted.

Without any further delay they chugged down as much of their food as they could and went back to their rooms to get dressed. Spike took off his white tank top and black sweats and put on a black t-shirt, barely doing much to contain his well-toned figure. After that, he put on a fresh pair of blue jeans and stormed out of his room, running down the hall.

As Twilight quickly remove both the top and bottom of her pajamas showing off her c cup bra and purple panties tossing the discard clothing on to her queen size bed. She then walked in side her closet, putting on a light blue short sleeve blouse and a knee length skirt with a six pointed sparking star on it sides. Once dressed, she quickly went to the bathroom and brush her teeth, then ran out of the room, running down the halls as well.

Outside ponies were walking about. Parents bring their foals to Miss Cheerilee's school, while others were on there way to there job. Those that pass by the castle didn’t care about the chariot with the two guards standing there waiting for the two resident to exit. When there exit both Twilight and Spike seem surprised that the chariot was here already. “Princess Sparkle. Mister Dragon, if you please.” The guard said ster like so many other guards, allowing the two to board. Once on, the chariot pull out, taking to the gentle blue skies.

In ten minutes later, their chariot comes to a stop at the entrance to the Canterlot Castle. During the day the gates were open to all. Sometimes there’d be a line for ponies wishing to speak with the princess. Most of their considered were pity at best. But today, the entrance was completely empty, not a line of ponies in sight.

Twilight and Spike stepped off the chariot and thanked the guards for the ride before walking into the castle.
Inside were just a bunch of maids and other servants wandering around the halls. Some were cleaning the floors and walls. Even the ceilings were being scrubbed while the guard did their best patrolling the grounds, and making sure that no pony stubbles into any room. “They seem busy as ever.” Spike spoke, as he looked around. “Though I don’t think the princess would mind a little dust or two.”

“Spike, do you really think that the princess would want to have her subjects coming into this castle and say “Oh my, why is the castle so dusty?” or even, “I believe you missed a spot!” Twilight replied, trying to sound like the snobs of Canterlot. Spike just chuckled at Twilight accurate imitation of them.

“I guess not.” he chuckled.

Then in a flashing white light, the princess of the sun appeared right before their eyes, smiling down at Spike and Twilight with a warm smile. Princess Celestia had on a golden yellow dress that barely tried to cover up her ample bosom, but gave a clear view of one of her long, slender legs poking out.

This would at the least embarrassed anypony with ties to the royal family namely Blueblood, but this was somewhat cassural for the princess. “Twilight, Spike, I’m so glad you made it. Come, follow me to my chambers, I’ve got something I want to discuss with you both in private.” The tone in her voice sounded sincere which didn’t cause any alarm. However that would all soon change.

The two followed the princess down the many hallways in the eastern wing of the castle and towards a door with a sun on it. And a small note saying ‘Keep out Luna’. Upon opening the door, the three enter into a small library of different types of books, a comfy sofa next to the fire place, and a desk with a window that make for a perfect view to see the garden.

“You know, this almost feels like home, but what’s with the note telling Luna to keep out?” Spike asked, pointing to the door.

“Oh the note. Well let just said we’re in the middle of a pranking war, and our studies are our safe zone.” The alicorn giggle. Despite being a princess the title can get boring at times, and this was a nice way in relieving stress.

“Umm, okay then.” Spike said. ‘Good thing I’m not involved in it.’ he thought to himself.

“So, Princess Celestia, what was it you wanted to talk to us about?” Asked the purple alicon.

“Twilight has Spike been going to school during his time with you?”

“Well, no, I’ve usually been homeschooling him up until today, why do you ask?”

“You see, Twilight. I’m a little concerned for Spike. I know he’s got you and the other girls as his friends, but I’d like to have Spike enrolled at an academy and help him make even more friends. I’m not against your teachings, Twilight, far from it. You’re a great teacher, but I want Spike to be able to socialize with other ponies his age.” Celestia wasn’t wrong. Spike had been with Twilight since he was ten years old. Yes Twilight was his legal guardian and she did help in Spike education on a college level. But she wonder how many friends did Spike have? Big Macintosh, Shining Armor, The Cutie Mark Crusaders, Thorax, and Dragon Lord Ember? And from what Luna told her those three filles were now off to college somewhere.

For Spike he naturally didn’t want to go, but then he thought about it. He was as smart, if not smarter than any foal when he was young. He could talk about the power ponies, or any other comic superhero he knows to others without being ridicule. And maybe he was reading to much comics from the west but he knows that there’s always good looking mares. Maybe he could start his own hearm.

“Oh and if you do accept you be the first dragon ever enroll in Equestia’s schools. But the choice is completely up to you, Spike.”

Twilight looked at Spike, who was thinking long and hard about whether to accept this or not. He’s already got the brain smarts of a professor or two and he could easily earn a living without enrolling, but on the other hand, it would be a great experience for him to get to know some new ponies and make new friends. And like they always said: Friendship is Magic.

Finally he looked at Princess Celestia with a smile. “I think it’d be great to see what it would be like to enroll at this academy. So I say “yes.”

“Spike, are you sure about this?” Twilight asked.

“Sure am, I mean Scootaloo, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle are off somewhere, Mac is always busy with Sugar Belle, and Shining looking after the Crystal Empire and his family, It gets pretty lonely in the castle without friends so why not?”

Twilight was surprised to hear Spike say this, but he had a point. After all, he’s old enough to make his own choices and she had to respect his decision. Twilight let out a sigh and gave him a warm smile and a hug. “Alright then, Spike. If this is what you want, you have my full support.”

Celestia clap her hands together. “Great. Spike Solarice, Prince of Equestria.” Hearing his full name cause the dragon to blush. “I Celestia Solarice Princess of Equestria hereby enroll you to Canterlot Private Academy here in Canterlot.

Spike’s jaw dropped. “Just like that?!” he asked in surprise.

“Of course. Truth be told, I funded the place while a few good ponies I know keep it running. Your first class starts tomorrow at 8 A.M sharp. Make sure to be ready, okay? And yes the academy is a boarding school. However you’ll be staying at the castle.” The princess winked.

Spike couldn’t believe it. He was accepted into a school just like that and to top it off, and because he was the adopted son of Celestia his tuition was free. He wanted to said goodbye to all his friends at Ponyville, but if he had to be in class at eight, then he’ll have to skip the farewell party. Also he didn’t want to arrive back at the castle late at night. He knows how long Pinkie Pie’s parties tend to last. Sadly that wasn’t the case for Celestia had planned this.

“After you settle in your room come to the ballroom Spike. And don’t go to Donut Joes” That was what Celestia told him. There were of cause many things to do in the castle. Talking to the maids, the guards, go to the garden, see if Luna was awake. But he did as told and walked down the halls of the castle where he saw the maids still keeping the place clean from top to bottom and a few of the guards marching back and forth. “This place is already shiny as it is.” The drake shrug and continue his walked down the corridors of the castle. When he reach the door leading to the ballroom, he took a deep breath and open in.

Confetti and streamers blasted in his face. Inside were his friends, and family all shouting “SURPRISE!!” And “CONGRATULATIONS!” Spike wiped off the confetti from his face and smiled at the amazing party that was thrown.

“Aww, gee, thanks guys. This is so cool!” Spike said, excitedly, walking inside.

Pinkie Pie was the first one to bounce over to the dragon, and wrap her arms around his fame. Tightly squeezing him between her d cup size breast. She was wearing a short sleeve pink shirt with a yellow skirt that stop at the middle of her thighs and black biker jeans underneath the skirt to cover her juicy round flank.

Spike felt his whole face turning red as he was hugged tightly into her huge bosom and almost felt a nosebleed coming, had it not been for a certain white unicorn intervening.

“Pinkie, deary, don’t suffocate poor little Spikey-Wikey like that!” said Rarity. Pinkie did let him go, and Spike thanked her.

Being the most fashionable ponies out of the group. She was wearing a black dress that revealed her d cups size bosom, the dress like Celestia were long but with one side showed off her slender legs. On the side were a heart shape fire ruby Spike gave to her on his birthday. Upon regaining his bearings the dragon stared at the ivory mare. It has been six years since he outgrown his childhood crush over Rarity but he still can’t deny how beautiful she is was. In fact if he was younger the dragon eyes would be on her and only on her.

“It must be wonderful going to the most one of the most elite college in all the land. Oh How I wish I would have gone. I heard Moon Dancer attended this academy.”

“And yer getting free tuition on top of that. Guess the Crystal Empire is repaying ya for saving there hides, twice.” Applejack spoke. Patting Spike on the shoulder. He thank the gods above Twilight didn’t revealed the truth about him begin Celestia’s son. “Also Big Mac couldn’t make it on the count he’s busy helping his wife deliver some baked goods in Trottingham.

“That’s alright. I wasn’t expecting everypony to be here.” Spike responded looking around the room. Of course there were Pinkie, Twilight, and Applejack who were wearing their normal padded shirts and daise dukes. He also saw Fluttershy who was happy to see him. Out of the seven mares Fluttershy was always the biggest when it came to breast size. Beside dawning her trademark yellow sweater to hide her melons. And a long pink dress to hide her legs.

Rainbow of course didn’t make it. It wasn’t her fault though. She indeed had join the wonderbolts however she was currently practicing a new move for there up and coming show in las pegasus.

Starlight as also missing. She, Sunburst, and Trixie are traveling all across Equestria, making an appearance in every major city they went to.

Princess Cadance, Shining Armor and their six year old daughter were present. The three rulers of the Crystal Empire walked up to the dragon and hugged him. Cadence and Shining congratulated him and wish him the best of luck in what every class he was going to take. Flurry only wanted to play with her cousin before he had to go to bed, which Spike did.

The party went on as sun lowered, making way for the crescent moon to raise, signifying that Princess Luna was up, and ready to perform her nightly duties.

Even if Celestia wanted to prolong the party, she couldn’t. Spike needed his sleep, for tomorrow’s brand new adventure awaits the dragon. Celestia sent the others back home, telling them that she’ll see them at the next Grand Galloping Gala. Or when something threatened Equestria which would mostly be at the end of the month. Spike, Cadance, and her family saw the four mares off to the castle gates. Not before they shared one last hug.

“We’ll miss you Spike. It won’t be the same without you.” Twilight told the young dragon.

“You know I can always visit you during the weekend and break right?”

“I know. But still, I just can’t believe you’re finally leaving for college. I wish you the best of luck.”

“And you best behave yourself Spikey. I don’t want to hear you knocking up some mare while in study hall.” Rarity lightly booped his nose, then giggle, causing Spike to blush.

“All of you know that’s going to happen.” Pinkie winked. “That is if he goes to one of the many crazy parties in college. And you better invite me to those.” She pointed his chest, as her bright ocean eyes stared into his green slitted eyes.

“I will. Though knowing you Pinkie, you’ll find a way to be there.” Spike chuckle.

“Damn straight.” She turn and pointed her fingers at her own eyes, then into the sky, and back at her. “I’ll be watching!” The ponies and the dragon just stared at her for a moment before shrugging it off, being that it was Pinkie Pie being Pinkie Pie.

“Well anyway take care little guy. Ah be sure to tell pass down the information to Rainbow when she gets back.” Applejack said lightly patting his shoulder.

“Um if you need anything just sent a letter and we might be able to help.”Fluttershy spoke and gave Spike a warm smile.

After saying their farewells and heading back home, Spike let out a yawn and made his way back to his room. He walked down the halls and found no guards or maids in sight, probably cleaning up the ball room, no doubt. Upon arriving at his bedroom door, he opened it and walked inside and closed the door behind him. He made his way towards his bed and pulled the covers before climbing in and throwing them over his body and let the fatigue kick in, knocking him out for the night.
