Lyra skim read a few pages of the cook book, hoping to find something Bon Bon would like. After all, it had been 1 year since they became best friends, so she wanted to do something for Bon Bon, and baking something just semmed to make sense. But to be fair... Lyra had never really baked anything before this, so she was very unexperinced... After a few minutes she found a recipe for a chocolate cake.

"This looks good, and Bon Bon loves chocolate, I'll definitely try it!" She said, clapping her hooves together in excitement.

The instructions read: You will need: 2 cups of flour, 2 cups of sugar, 2 large eggs, 2 teaspoons baking powder, ¾ cups cocoa powder, and Melted chocolate.

"Alright better get to it!" She said.

She got everything she needed, she went shopping the day prior so she pretty much had everything you could ever need baking a cake. She got the ingredients, a bowl, an preheated the oven to 350 degress fahrenheit.

"Okay, now to mix everything in the bowl"

She put the eggs in first, Beeing careful not to drop them.

"Going well so far!" She said in a very cheerful voice.

She poured a cup of sugar in the bowl, but when it was time for the second one she accidentaly tripped and got it all over the kitchen...

"Guess i'll have to clean that up afterwards" She said in a not so cheerful voice.

She then poured a cup of flour in the bowl, but when she was going to pour the second one in, she tripped again.

"Oh, bummer" She said in the opposite of a cheerful voice.

She looked around to see what she was tripping on, it was a tile in the kitchen floor that was a little bit higher than the rest.

"Guess thats another thing i'll have to fix later..."

After that she poured the baking powder in, this time without any problems. Then she poured the cocoa powder in, also without any problems.

"Im getting lucky" she mumured.

Now there was only one thing left to do, make the melted chocolate!

"This will be easy!" She said, her cheerful voice had now returned!

The instuctions said she should melt two chocolate bars, unfourtanetly, she misread it and thought it said eight chocolate bars instead of two. She got a frying pan and procceded to put EIGHT chocolate bars on it.

"That's an awful amount of chocolate for one cake..." She thought, but that thought quickly faded away as she saw the very satisfying sight of melting chocolate... But, due to there being eight chocolate bars on her tiny little frying pan, it quickly overflowed and went all over the oven.

"Goddammit, what did i do wrong?" She said in a panic.

She quickly turned the stove off and reread the instructions.

"Oh, There were only supposed to be two bars on it..." She said, while facepalming herself. She looked at the kitchen, it was one big mess.

"Okay i'll just finish this cake and then i'll clean the kitchen" She said.

After correcting her mistake, she put the melted chocolate in the bowl.

"Okay, is there anything else left to do?" The instructions read: Once everything is mixed in a bowl, put it in a cake form and bake it in the oven for thirty minutes.

"Almost done!" She said while putting the cake in the oven...

"Now i just need to wait thirty minutes" She said.

She went over to check wen Bon Bon was gonna be home... It felt like her brain exploded.

"10 Minutes?! That's not nearly enough time!" She nearly screamed.

She walked around the kitchen in circles, trying to find a solution to her little problem...

"Ah Ha!" She said, nearly begining to jump like Pinkie Pie.

"I'll just cook it at 1050 degress fahrenheit instead of 350, it will be three times as fast!"

...There is a good reason why you should not do that, if you do it like that the cake will just become warm, it won't finish baking. But, Lyra had never really baked before so She didn't know that.

"Im so smart!" She said while turning the heat up.

...

10 Minutes later...

She took the cake out of the oven, it looked like a cake, so she thought it was all good. The smell of chocolate cake began to fill the kitchen.

"Mmm this is gonna be delicious!" She said.

She carried the cake into the livng room, so they could eat it there.

She heard the door open, She went out to see Bon Bon had returned from her little... "Trip"

"Hey Bon Bon!" She pulled her in for a hug.

"Hey Lyra!" Bon Bon said "What have you been up to?"

Lyra giggled.

"What?" Bon Bon said confused.

"I have made a little surprise for you!" Lyra said "Come into the Living room!"

She went into the living room, Bon Bon followed her, curious to see what Lyra had made for her.

"I made a cake!" Lyra exclaimed excitedly.

"Wow, Thanks Lyra!" Bon Bon sat down on the couch beside her.

"Well, aren't you going to try it?" Lyra asked. "This is the first cake i've ever made, so i hope you will like it!"

"Of course i will!" Bon Bon said as she was took a little slice.

"Is it chocolate cake?" Bon Bon asked.

"Yes! I know you love chocolate!" Lyra replied.

"Okay!" Bon Bon said with a smile.

She took a big bite. Lyra wagged her tail like a dog, waiting to see Bon Bon's reaction.

"This is good!" Bon Bon said "It could have been baked a little longer tho.."

"Yea, i had a problem with that" Lyra giggled "Well im glad you like it!"

"It's delicous!" Bon Bon said as she finished her slice. "But why didn't you bake it enough?"

"Oh... i didn't have enough time to finish it before you got home, so i just baked it at three times the recommended temperature" Lyra explained.

Bon Bon laughed.

"What?" Lyra asked.

"You could have just asked me not to go into the kitchen" Bon Bon giggled.

"Yea, about the kitchen..." lyra began.

"What about it?" Bon Bon asked.

..."It's a mess"
