//-------------------------------------------------------// The Conversion Bureau: Failed Master Race -by The Fanatical Christian- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Last Elite Royal Guard //-------------------------------------------------------// The Last Elite Royal Guard Summer crouched as silently as she could as she inched over to the old warehouse door from the side of the dilapidated building. Her purple elite royal guard armour clinked awkwardly, making her grit her teeth harder with every movement. She should have just ditched the armour she thought as she took another step. Clink. Human weaponry was brutal and unforgiving, She took another step. Clink. A standard 5.56 NATO round would shred through the armour and imbed itself in her. Clink. Armour piercing would go right through her. Clink. Hollow points would practically mince her insides. Clink. Human weaponry wasn't just brutal and unforgiving, it was downright cruel...But not as cruel as they could be. Clink Once the barrier broke they had just slaughtered everyone, even the princesses. She grit her teeth harder at the that thought. Those things weren't people, they were monsters, the worst kind. They were utterly relentless and completely ruthless. Clink. She stopped at the door to the warehouse and peeked through the glass window in the door. It was one big empty room, grey like the outside and made from brick. There were a few shelves devoid of anything useful, but other than that it was empty. 'Perfect,' She thought. 'And not a human in sight.' She tried the handle, it gave way after a small amount of resistance. She turned as the door slowly opened. She put her hooves to the side of her hands and shouted. "It's safe." After a few seconds of an almost painful silence a stallion poked his head out of a large bush. They made eye contact, she smiled at the fellow unicorn, and her husband. He smiled back before turning to someone else, after a few seconds a total of six other ponies exited the overgrown bush. Her husband, her mother, his parents, and two other Earth ponies, one of which was from the Crystal Empire. The small band of survivors were trying to make it as far away from human controlled territory, being caught would mean certain death. They had made considerable progress, but humanity's automotive technology would catch up sooner or later. She shuddered at the thought of tanks, she had seen those mechanized killing machines before and they still haunted her nightmares, she didn't think such destructive power was possible. She would never have even have thought such a destructive machine could exist, never mind without magic. She shook the thought off with another shudder. The group of ponies approached her. Her husband at the helm, his coat was grey and his mane was black, greatly contrasting her pristine white coat and brown mane. He held a small bundle of cloth holding their new born son. She quickly paced over to him to check her son. "How is he?" "He's fine but I think he needs feed." "Oh, what about you?" "Better than earlier, and you." "About as good as I can get right now." She turned to her mother whose eyes were bloodshot and wet from tears "Are you alright Mother?" "Yes dear, I just miss him so much." She said between shallow breaths, emotional pain rife in her voice. "C'mon well get some sleep and you'll be better in the morning." The pony nodded before heading into the warehouse. Summer grimaced, her mother just hadn't been the same after her husband had died. She shook the thought. 'Its over now, no point in dwelling on it." With a quick panoramic swerve she gave the area one last look and determining that they weren't followed. Satisfied, she turned and entered the warehouse with the others. Summer adjusted and repositioned herself, unable to get comfortable in the old sleeping bag. Her husband and new born Colt had fell asleep hours ago, much like the others. With ever passing second she became more agitated at being unable to sleep. They needed to be up early and here she was, awake at some early hour. She sighed and pulled out the 'phone', that she had commandeered from a human soldier she had killed. She awkwardly turned it on and struggled to swipe into the home screen. The only reason she still had the disgusting creation was for the alarm built into it. She was initially worried about it losing charge but the human seemingly turned on some form of battery saving function and seeing that it was at a high charge it was the least of her worries. She observed the bright screen and the selection of 'Apps'. One of them caught her attention, one that she hadn't seen before. Album, it was labelled. She awkwardly pressed the shortcut to the App. As she seen its contents she was surprised. It was an album as it would seem, of images. But what surprised her was that the images weren't of weapons, or dead ponies or even of war. They were normal images, just normal photographs. 'Odd.' She thought contemplating the alien concept that humans would take similar photos to ponies. She tapped one of the images. It was a group of soldiers sitting at a table with beverages, presumably alcoholic, in their hands. All seemingly having a good time. She noticed that one of them looked like the human she had killed. She flicked to the next image after a small struggle, it was a picture of a small team of humans seemingly who had just come out of a patrol. Again she noticed the human. She swiped again, and again. She refused to believe it, how could a being as evil and destructive as a human being could be capable of feeling emotions like happiness and brotherhood. She swiped one last time. Her heart sank inside her, and a pang of guilt hit her like a flying kick to the face. It was the human again, sitting on some sort of porch wearing what seemed to be normal attire for humans, it was in stark contrast to the uniforms she was so used to seeing. Next to him sat a human female also in what seemed to be civilian attire. Both were smiling, and in the arms of the female was a small bundle of cloth... and a human baby. She dropped the phone. What had she done. She had destroyed a family just like her own. The child that would grow up without a father, the Wife who would never truly get over the death of her Husband. She covered her mouth to stifle a squeak as tears formed in her eyes. What had she done, how could she have been so blind to the fact that these creatures were capable of more than just killing, all she had seen in that mans eyes when she killed him was inconceivable rage, and now she understood why Her vision began to blur as more tears formed and travelled don her face as droplets of guilt and shame. A cool breeze from inside the warehouse caused her to shiver and she could have sword she heard a voice whisper. "You did this to us." Unable to stifle her tears anymore she cried and cried and cried. Eventually, she cried herself to sleep too. She awoke to the beeping of the alarm with a jump and turned it off quickly. She looked around as the early morning sun began to rise. The sun that raised itself. She turned to her husband, her eyes still red. "C'mon," He refused to awaken. "We need to move." He still refused to be roused from his sleep. "Well maybe just a few more minutes..." she thought as she too drifted back into her sleep. She awoke to a punch in the face. She instinctively grabbed her snout as she was dragged. She looked around trying to figure out where she was. A punch to the stomach put an end to that. She felt the terrain switch from the smooth floor of the warehouse to the coarse grass outside. Her body was thrown to the side as she heard to shouts of her fellow ponies shouting. She looked up from the bruise in her stomach to see the rest of her party being dragged out in a similar fashion. Her husband and mother were on the ground trying to ease the pain wherever they had been punched. Then she saw one of the soldiers, a human, a brute of a thing, taking her foal from the warehouse. She tried to stop the monster but another one of its kind saw right through her and kicked her in the abdomen once more. She groaned in pain as she tried to nurse the wound as a large bruise formed. The human with her foal stopped and turned back to face the group at the side of what seemed to be the leader of the team of humans. The dark clouds in the sky mirrored her feelings at seeing it. She looked at the brute. A tall human with dull brown eyes holding a pistol. She didn't know what type. That was another thing about his kind that disgusted her, their obsession with weapons of death and destruction. "Well well well," It started. Wait she knew that voice. "What do we have here?" Sergeant Miles Jameson. "An elite royal guard, who would have thought we would have met you. Mrs Summer Breeze." Summer Breeze, she repeated it in her head. Summer Breeze, Summer Breeze! That was her name, her full name! She hadn't been able too remember it since the attack on Canterlot, too busy trying to survive. "The one who left her princess to die, how admiral." She felt her anger grow inside her. "Monster!" She shouted. The sergeant snickered. "That's rich coming from the one who killed 20 of my soldiers." She was about to shout something back at him but she shut her mouth when she realized that she didn't have anything to reply with. The sergeant chuckled at this. She felt her anger grow more but she tried to control it but her face objected. By now the others had regained themselves and were looking around frightened. The sergeant took a shovel from one of the troopers behind him. and through it at her hooves. The other soldiers threw more shovels at the hooves of her protectees. "Dig." He said, gesturing to her civilian friends. The shovel in front of her began to shine and glow as she picked it up with her magic. "No. Not you." He said pointing the pistol at her. She dropped the shovel in an instant, and watched as the others began to dig. In half an hour 6 shallow grave had been dug. She watched helplessly as her husband began on hers, but the sergeant stopped. "Stop. She wont need one when we're through with her." He then turned to her. "Pick it up." He said gesturing to the shovel she had been denied use of. She steadily picked it up unsure of what would come. Get them on their knees. With that a marine grabbed her husband by the scruff of the neck and forced him on his knees in front of his grave. The soldiers marched other to the others, their weapons pointed at them. One of them grabbed her mother by the hair and shouted at the others. "Get over there!" His voice was gruff and torn. The rest of the group did as ordered and backed against the wall of the warehouse. The human dragged her mother over to her and forced her on her knees as the sergeant walked over to her husband as her foal began to cry. "Keep him quiet." The sergeant said. The soldier holding her foal turned and left, trying to comfort the child. "Now," The sergeant started. "Kill her." She looked at the human, wide eyed in shock. "What?" "Kill her," He pointed the pistol at her husband. "Or he dies." Tears began to form in her eyes as the situation began to sank in and she looked to her husband and then to her mother. "I-I-I can't," Her mothers eyes were wet with tears and terrified as they stared back at her. She looked back to her husband, his eyes were glued to the barrel of the gun, tears streaming down his face. "P-please don't." He said. "I-I don't want to die, not yet. Please." Her heart shuddered violently at the sight. "I-I-I-I d-don't know what to-" BANG The bullet pierced his skull easily and sprayed brain matter as it left his body. He was dead before it left his body. His body fell limb into the grave, his dead eyes looked at her for one last time as the body disappeared into the hole. "Kill them." The sergeant said, now addressing his soldiers. They didn't need to be told twice. They soldiers rushed forward to the group. She managed a glace at her husbands parents, staring right at her, a look of disgust on their faces at her inability to save their son. She was tackled by the large marine and was held down. All she could do was watch as her friends died. Her mother was grabbed by her throat before being choked. She clawed at her attackers hands as she tried to pry them off. Summer watched as the light began to fade from her eyes. Then a knife entered her throat, again, and again. Her hot blood spilled onto the cold steel of the knife. Her mother looked at her one last time. Her eyes were blood shot, and tears bulged in the corners All she could see was sadness and fear and defeat. Her mothers eyes closed for the last time as the soldier continued his stabbing spree. His blade tearing into organs as blood gushed out of the man made holes. Her husbands mother was grabbed by a marine who then began to shove his thumbs into her still open eyes. She heard her piercing screams. The membrane of the eye tore causing blood and other fluids to leak out, amongst tears. The marine continued until he decided to too pull out his knife and imbed itself in her head. More blood spilled out of the wound as her life left her. Summer then watched her father in law have his throat taken out by the blade of the same shovel that he dug his own grave with. The human kept swinging until the head was handing on by a few tendons and flaps of skin. The human wiped his brow looking at his kill. The other murders were just as brutal. The marines dragged their bodies, or more accurately the remains of their bodies over to the graves and unceremoniously threw them in. The large marine got off her. The sergeant, still not satisfied looked at Summer, grin on his face. "Now, bury them." After 2 hours Summer had finally buried the corpses of her friends. She now lay at the foot of their graves, crying. Her tears mixed with the Earth making mud. As if on cue a light rain began. The sergeant stood behind her with the rest of the soldiers, save for the one with her foal. "Plant the bomb and get back to the APC." A few of the soldiers looked as if they wanted to object but instead turned and left for their APC. One of them threw something at her side. An explosive of some sort, the timer read 60 seconds. She looked at the sergeant. He had holstered his pistol and any look of sadistic enjoyment had left his face. "Any last words." "Aren't you going to beat me half to death first?" She chuckled The sergeant chuckled at this too. "Your the last Elite Royal guard and were a capable foe, you at least deserve to die unbroken." "The last?" "Yup." "So what's the plan now? Drive pony kind to extinction?" "I don't know. In all honesty I hope not, that would make us as bad as celestia portrayed us, and we're not that bad." She was surprised by this, especially after the little show he had just put on. "Call him Ash." "What?" "The foal, if your not going to kill him, then please call him Ash. It suits his fur." Now it was the sergeants turn to be surprised. The look adorned his face until it turned to a smile. The bomb beeped signifying that only 10 seconds remained. "I'll see what I can do." And with that he walked away. 'Maybe humans aren't that bad after all.' She thought. Celestia described them as the embodiment of evil. But from what she had just seen, that wasn't the case. They were without a doubt capable of being brutal and ruthless killing machines. But they were capable of more than that. They had families and they had friends. They had feelings and emotions. Even a conscience. And they were smart, they knew how to survive and would do anything to ensure it, as such they were able to break the barrier. Beep. 5 seconds left. In fact, it was Equestria who was prideful, and ignorant, and unforgiving. They had just marched in and demanded that all humans convert, and when mankind refused, they tried to destroy them. Maybe something good would come of this. Her people would learn, advance. Something that had been halted since the Princesses deemed all technology evil. They would learn humbleness and ultimately find a simpler and easier way to teach mankind friendship. Maybe, just maybe. Equestria needed this. The bomb beeped for the last time and Summer closed her eyes. Everything went black. Author's Note Ok i made this incase anyone got bored waiting on the next chapter of 'From Black Skies'.
