Breakdown

Twilight Sparkle was in her castle going through mail that had been delivered to her castle as she had to read the mail so that she could get rid of it. While she read through her mail she heard a commotion. She stopped reading her mail as she heard Spike speaking to Starlight.

Twilight wondered what was going on. She decided to go to the dining room to see what the problem was. Inside she saw that Starlight was backing away while Spike was trying to calm her.

"What the hell is going on here? What's wrong with Starlight?" Twilight asked Spike. Starlight started to beg and say nonsensical stuff. Twilight was getting a bit worried for Starlight.

"Starlight is having a mental breakdown for some reason. I'm trying to get her to relax but nothing is working." Spike said.

"Well your not helping your just making her freak out even more. Back off just a tiny bit so that she doesn't feel overwhelmed. Starlight what's the matter? Tell me what's bothering you?" Twilight asked her.

"There coming! They are coming to kill us all!" Starlight screamed at her two friends. Twilight flinched but continued to speak as gently as possible. She had no idea what Starlight was talking about so she wanted to find out. Starlight's behavior worried Twilight and Spike.

"Starlight nopony is coming to hurt us I have no idea why your acting like this. Take a deep breath and relax. Your safe here." Twilight said as she tried to calm Starlight down but Starlight just got even more nervous.

"No you don't understand! We're all going to die! It's all my fault that were all going to die! We need to find shelter immediately! Somepony has to help us!" Starlight screamed. Twilight was beginning to think that Starlight has lost her mind.

"No we don't need to find shelter Starlight. Stop yelling so loudly it hurts my ears I'm like right by you. Please calm down your getting out of control." Twilight told her but Starlight didn't listen she only got more agitated.

"Why is she acting like this? She was fine all morning and now she's flipping the hell out? What happened to her?" Twilight whispered to Spike so that she didn't make Starlight mad by talking about her which would just agitate Starlight even more.

"We are going to have to take drastic measures Twilight. I know you won't like this but we might have to send Starlight to someplace where she can't hurt herself. Spike whispered. Twilight sighed and looked back at Starlight.

After a bit of screaming and yelling from Starlight she was brought to Ponyville hospital and she was placed in a straight jacket so that she couldn't harm herself. She was placed in a padded seclusion room as Twilight looked at the room with concern for Starlight as Starlight screamed loudly.

"I don't understand why she is acting like this. She was fine earlier today but after a while she became very frightened as she talked about how we were all going to be killed. What's wrong with her?" Twilight asked as her friend's screams could be heard.

"Seems to me she had a mental breakdown. We'll keep her here till she calms down, if you want to go back home you can, we can notify you if her behavior changes. We will try to ask her how this...happened to her. We don't know the cause of the breakdown but we will find out" Nurse Redheart said.

"I want to stay here. I want to stay with her....please she's my student and my friend I care about her." Twilight pleaded. The doctor sighed as she knew that it would be difficult to convince Twilight to wait at home as Starlight was Twilight's friend.

"Alright you can but your going to have to leave when visiting hours end if it takes that long for her to calm down. We will release her when she calms down and I don't know when that will be. We will take care of her Twilight. If you want some to read there's some books out in the waiting room but they are magazines. If you want I can find you a book to keep you busy." Nurse Redheart said.

"Sure that would be nice I'll go sit in the waiting room." Twilight said. Nurse Redheart watched her go out to the waiting room to wait and she checked the local library and got one for Twilight and she handed it to Twilight to read. Twilight settled into the chair as it was going to be a long wait.

Meanwhile inside the padded room Starlight was sitting down on the padded floor barefoot while restrained in her straight jacket as she screamed at the walls, she screamed as much as she could as she wanted people to hear her warnings but nobody listened to her. Maybe Twilight was right about how nobody was going to kill them.

She kept screaming as loudly as she could. She cried as she screamed loudly. Her eyes darted all over the place as she looked at each wall to try and find a way out but she found that she was trapped there so she screamed even louder.

Even though she was screaming she knew that it wasnt doing her any good as it just proved that she had lost it and she had to be protected from herself so that she didn't hurt herself or hurt any of her friends as she had lost it for a bit.

She kept screaming while her voice started to get very dry it began to hurt to scream but she continued anyway, she wanted the people to hear her warnings She wanted to warn people so she screamed and pleaded for them to believe her but unfortunately nobody came for her.

She had to stop screaming for a second and breathe for a bit but then continued anyway as she screamed even louder than before. Her screams could faintly be heard on the other side by doctors passing by her door.

Even though that she was screaming she got tired of it, her voice began to get very scratchy from it, her throat felt dry due to the workout she was giving her lungs. She stopped for a second and continued to scream again only her screaming was getting slower and quieter.

Starlight screamed out Twilights name and screamed out her warnings repeatedly but it seemed like nobody listened to her. Tears poured down her face as she screamed her heart out inside her padded room.

Starlight screamed for her mentor and her friends she even screamed out for the doctors as she screamed her voice dry, she was starting to gasp for air so she drew in another breath of air and screamed again.

Starlight knew that the screaming wasn't doing her any good as it only proved Twilight's point that she should stay in their for a bit more. She decided that maybe that it would be a good idea to stop screaming as it was making her look insane.

Starlight's screaming could be heard only a little bit from the outside some doctors who passed by looked at the room with concern as they hoped that Starlight would just calm down so she can go back to Twilight's. Back inside the room she screamed as she stared at the door.

She finally stopped screaming as she had screamed so much she hurt her voice and laid still as tears leaked out of her eyes. She wanted to run but unfortunately the door to the place room was sealed. She had struggled so much but her arms were stuck tight.

She wondered if Twilight had left her, the thought of Twilight dumping her here and leaving scared her to no end. She hoped that Twilight was somewhere close. That was the only thing she wanted right now. She just wanted to see Twilight and her friends.

She started to cry due to thinking about that possibility of Twilight leaving her here and giving up on her. It just made her more agitated but she couldn't scream anymore, she felt tired so she laid there as tears matted her face as she sobbed silently.

She wondered how long she would be there, she just wanted to go home and be comforted by her mentor that's all she needed right now. She cried for a bit more letting the tears run freely down her face.

Tears had stained her face as she was tired from crying. She didn't feel like struggling anymore as it was hopeless. She looked around at her padded room as she knew that if she didn't go crazy like that then she wouldn't be there right now.

She let the tears soak into her skin as she stopped struggling and laid still on the floor, she sniffled as she was so worn out from crying. As she laid there she grew calmer as she looked around at her surroundings.

She decided to wait there as she knew they would have to check on her eventually. She didn't want to stay there all day, she just wanted to forget all about what happened.

She blinked as she tried to get the tears out of her eyes since she just couldn't wipe them away. She hoped someone would just come in and talk to her. She wasn't going to hurt anybody so they shouldn't have to be to cautious.

She heard a few voices on the other side and thought that she heard Nurse Redheart. She hoped that she could talk to her as she just wanted to see doctor and go to Twilight to be comforted.

Due to her luck Nurse Redheart entered the room and closed it and stood there cautiously. Starlight sat up as she blinked her worn out eyes.

"How are you feeling Starlight? Are you okay? You had a mental breakdown." Nurse Redheart said in a gentle voice.

"I'm tired out but I guess I am calmer than before. Where's Twilight?" Starlight asked as she wanted to know where her mentor and friend was.

"She's out in the waiting room. She wants to see you, she's been reading all this time you were here. I'm just here to make sure that your a bit calmed down." Nurse Redheart said.

"I am can't you tell I tired myself out and I'm throat is so sore. I just screamed so much...I dont understand what came over me to start warning about how somebody was going to kill us. A cup of water would be nice." Starlight managed to say,

"Alright I'll be right back Starlight. I won't be gone for long." She said as she left her for a few minutes. Starlight groaned as she slowly sat up into a sitting position as she waited for Nurse Redheart. She wondered if she was going to be able to go back home with Twilight.

She wondered how long she had been laying there soon before she knew it Nurse Redheart came back with a cup of water with a straw in it and helped Starlight sip from it. The water cooled her parched throat. She was so grateful. Starlight continued to sip from the small straw and finished the cup.

"Thanks Nurse Redheart. That feels a bit better." Starlight said as she sighed with relief.

"Your welcome. You know that we do anything to make sure the paitent is feeling better." Nurse Redheart said as she threw the cup away and took out a clipboard and wrote on it.

"I'm not crazy I don't even know what came over me I got really scared Do you think I just had a hysteria induced attack?" Starlight asked.

"That's what it seemed like. I'm just here to make sure your okay....you are right?" Nurse Redheart said.

"Yes I just want to go home and see my friends." Starlight said. Nurse Redheart looked at her for a little bit and decided to do what Starlight said as Starlight didn't seem like she would hurt anybody as Starlight tried to blow hair out of her face that was hanging down off her head from her screaming and her thrashing.

"Sounds to me you that you just lost it for a while but since you seem calmer I don't see the need to keep you here anymore. I'll see if you can go alright?" Nurse Redheart asked. Starlight nodded. Nurse Redheart left. Starlight groaned as she looked at the door while she waited she could hear a few nurses talk about her.

Starlight saw a few nurses come in and take the straight jacket off her while cautiously backing up but Starlight shrugged.

"I'm not going to hurt anybody. I just want to go home." Starlight said. The nurses finally relaxed and allowed Starlight to leave. They gave her her clothes back and she got dressed and she went to go see Twilight. Doctors followed her just in case as Starlight exited went to see Twilight. She saw Twilight at the end of the hallway. Twilight ran up to her and hugged her.

"Are you okay Starlight? I'm so sorry I had to bring you here I had no idea what you were going to do. I had to place you here for your protection and I hope you understand that. What in Equestria got into you?" Twilight said with concern.

"I'm calmer I don't exactly know what happened with me. I was fine at one minute and then the next I started to flip out and say how we were all in danger. Don't worry Twilight I understand why I was placed there. I needed to go someplace where I was safe so I have to thank you for putting me there. I'm also starving can we go eat?" Starlight asked, Twilight chuckled as she was glad Starlight was back to herself.

"Of coarse we can Starlight. Cmon! Thanks Nurse Redheart." Twilight called to her. Nurse Redheart waved to them as Twilight check her out of the hospital and they both went to go eat.

Twilight decided to bring Starlight to The Hay burger as it was the closest place to the hospital. As Starlight ate a burger Twilight watched her with relief that her student was alright.

"Thanks Twilight. I was hungry. How's Spike doing? Are my friends okay?" Starlight asked as she bite into her food.

"He's worried about you. He hopes he gets to see you. All of our friends are waiting to see if your okay." Twilight said. Starlight smiled as she ate. She finished eating and went home with Twilight. When they got back to the castle her friends and Spike all started to bombard her with questions but she continued to say that she was fine.

They all asked her what happened and she said that she had a breakdown she couldn't describe it but she said that she was better now. They were all glad that she was better. They all talked about how they missed Starlight and how Starlight missed them. After they got done with the greetings and the questions they hung out for a bit.

Twilight's friends left after a while and Starlight hung out with Twilight and Spike for the rest of the day.

"Thanks for coming to get me Twilight. I thought you would forget about me." Starlight said, Twilight looked at her with shock as she would never do that to Starlight.

"I didn't forget about you! I was worried sick about you. When they let you out I was so thrilled. I'm just glad your home Starlight it's good to have you here." Twilight said.

"Thanks for putting me there for my protection Twilight. Hopefully that doesn't happen to me ever again." Starlight said. Twilight smiled and hugged her.

"It probably won't and if it does we will take care of you." Twilight said. Twilight was so glad that her student was safe and better and she was glad that her breakdown was over. She hoped that it would never happen again and Starlight also hoped that what happened never repeated itself either. They were just glad it was over with as Starlight rested for the rest of the day.
