It was supposed to be a surprise , but Indigo is shit at keeping secrets. Honestly that girls mouth really runs away with her sometimes, and she wonders why Sour sweet has slapped her in the face so many times. But none the less she is still one of my best friends and for her sake I will act surprised on Friday. When I arrived at school the next day my friends were all there. Well 3 of them were anyway. "Hey Sunny wheres Indigo?" "No idea. She said something about wanting to find you the perfect birthday present." "But she's my friend it doesn't have to be perfect." "I know Zest but you know what she's like." "Rude , obnoxious, annoying." Sour sweet chimed in. " I meant passionate about this new friendship business." Sunny flare corrected. Indigos POV "For goodness sake why can't I find the right kind of gift!?" I screamed in the music shop, only to have the shop keeper stare at me. "What are you looking at!?" I screamed at him. "Do you want some help kid?" He asked me so politely despite me being so rude to him. "No thank you." " Are you sure?" "Yeah I'm just looking for a present for my friend its her birthday." "Ok well let me know if you want any help with anything." After another half an hour of struggling what to get for Lemon zest I finally gave in. "So what would recommend for someone special?" I asked the shop keeper. "Is it your girlfriend?" he asked me. "WHAT!? NO!" I shouted back. "She's just a really good friend thats all, and I really want to get her something that she will love." "What does she like?" "Duh music thats why I'm in here." "Be more specific kid. What type of music?" "Oh well she likes rock, but she has every CD known to man. However she never takes of those damn headphones, and I personally think she could do with some new ones." "Ahh then I have just the thing. Wait right here." So I stood there and waited for him to return."These should be perfect for her." "Wow there awesome!" I exclaimed. "How Much?" "£100" "Sold!" I paid for the new headphones and left the shop. "Thanks have a good day." I said goodbye to the shop keeper. I then glanced at my watch and when I saw what time it was I realised I was running late for the party. "Oh crap!" No ones POV "Where is Indigo zap she's running late. As usual." Sour sweet groaned. "I'm sure she'll be here Sour, have a little faith" Sunny reassured. Just then Sugarcoat saw Lemon Zest approach them. "Forget about Indigo, Lemons coming!" She warned the girls as the 3 went to there hiding places. "SURPRISE!" They all shouted when Lemon walked into the room. "Whats all this?" Lemon acted surprised after she had promised Indigo. Luckily she was quite good at drama. "Its a surprise party for you silly." Sour sweet answered Lemons question. "So do you like it?" " I love it". Lemon answered her. "But wheres Indigo?" It was then Sunny Flare who responded to this. " We don't know. No ones seen her since Wednesday. Just then Indigo finally arrived. "Your late!" Sour sweet scolded. "I know" Indigo say out of breath from running." But I had to make sure I got Lemon the perfect present." She then handed Lemon zest the new headphones. "Oh zap there perfect. But you didn't have to." "I know but you deserve it. So do you like them?" "I love them there perfect. Now lets get this party started!" "Yeah!" they all shouted "Hey Lemon?" "Yes Indigo?" "Thanks for not telling Sour sweet that I accidentally told you about the party." Lemon zest just chuckled at that. "Your welcome Indy, and thanks for the headphones they were the perfect present." The first day of high schoolFor the girls the first day of high school would be one they would never forget. Not what they expected but not the worst either. "But mum why do I have to go to school?" Lemon asked her mother with a pout. "Because honey its important and who knows you might even enjoy it." "Enjoy school? Yeah right." "Have a good day sweetie!" "Thanks mum." So Lemon zest wasn't happy about the first day of high school, she thought she'd have no mates.But little did she know there was another girl who was feeling exactly the same. "Where are my fucking goggles!?" "Indigo zap! How many times have we told you not to swear?" her father asked her "Sorry dad but I can't find my goggles and I need them." "But why kiddo? Its not like there going to help you with your school work." "No but they'll bring me luck to get on the sports teams." "But you know that life isn't all about sports." "Says the man who taught me everything I know. And besides I have to train as much as possible now, before we know it I'll be to old to even walk on my own. "Your only 11 years old. You've got ages yet." "Well I want to start early." "Fair enough. Now scram or you'll miss the bus." "Bye dad!" "Bye kiddo." So both of the girls arrived at their new school. "Crystal Prep Academy" and neither of them looked to happy. They then heard a voice over the intercom. "Could all first years please make their way to the main hall." Next the principle gave this really long and boring speech about how CPA was a school of winning , and the motto was "Win or go home." Indigo had fallen asleep and was starting to snore until someone lightly shook her arm. "You know your going to get a detention before you've even started." "Who cares? She's so boring!" She said a little to loud. "Do we have a problem over there? Principle cinch asked the blue haired girl. "No Miss" "Thats principle cinch to you. Whats your name kid?" "Indigo zap." "Well Miss Zap if you want to stay at this school I suggest you stay awake and pay attention. Everyone had now been given their time tables and Indigo and Lemon were in all the same classes. "Hey aren't you that girl that got in trouble with the principle? Lemon zest asked "Yeah but I think she was over reacting." "Hmm,I'm Lemon zest by the way." "Indigo zap. But I'm sure you know that already." Once class was over it was time for lunch , and the girls noticed a extra activities board out side of the lunch hall. "Awesome they having try outs for the football/soccer team!" Indigo cheered. "You should totally try out for that ." Lemon encouraged. "Yeah I will." So Indigo zap tried out for the team and the coach was very impressed by her moves. "The results will up tomorrow. Good luck kid." "So dear how was school?" lemons mum asked her "Ok mum I met this girl." "Oh you've made a friend! Thats wonderful." "I don't know if she's a friend yet, but she seems really nice." "Whats her name?" "Indigo zap." "Well as long as your happy love thats all that matters. "Hey kiddo how was school?" "Great dad I tried out for the soccer team." "Good for you. Your mother would be so proud. "I know. Anyway night dad. " Night dear." The next day... "WHAT But why didn't I get in!?" "I'm sorry indigo zap but maybe try again next term." "Fine whatever." "Hey Indy!" Lemon shouted. "Indy?" Zap questioned the nickname "Yeah calling you Indigo was getting boring. Why is that a problem? I can stop if it is." "Of course its not a problem Lemon zest, its just what my mum used to call me when I was little." "Why did she stop? Did you tell her you were to old to be called that anymore?" "No she passed away Lemon." "Oh my god I'm so sorry!" "Its ok. Now did you need something?" "I just wanted to check you were ok. I heard you didn't make the team." "But how did you find out?" I only just found out my self." "Indigo zap the whole school knows." "Great. So hows your day going?" "Not great. I got a detention for humming down the corridor." "Man this school sucks!" " Yeah but it will get better." "It better." When Indigo zap got home, her father asked her how her day went. She just ran into his arms and burst into tears. "Hey whats happened kiddo? Come one now shh shh shh. Calm down and tell me whats happened." "I didn't make the football/soccer team!" She sobbed. "Oh is that all? Why has that got you so upset?" "Because mum would be so disappointed in me!" "Oh Indy of course she wouldn't be. She'd be proud of you no matter what." "Really?" "Really now come on, dry those eyes and we'll have dinner." "So you got a detention for listening to music?" Lemons father asked her. "Yes dad its stupid." "Well just be careful kid." " I will be." So the girls first day of high didn't go the way that they thought. It could of been worse, but it also could have been better. its supposed to be fun (christmas special)"So lemon what are you hoping to get tomorrow for christmas?" Indigo asked. " New set of headphones" the rocker replied. "Of course thats what you want!" Sour Sweet yelled, she was in one of her moods. Sunny quickly piped up," Sour come on its christmas do you have to be so grumpy?" "Yeah its supposed to be a happy time of the year" Sugarcoat added. This only annoyed Sour more. "No one asked for your opinion Sugarcoat!" She yelled. Christmas was the next day and Sour Sweet wasn't in the festive spirit. After watching the other three argue for another 20 minutes lemon and indigo decided to leave. "Why can't they just be happy for once?" Lemon asked the goggle wearing teen. Indigo's answer was simple," I don't know zest" "We should try to make them see that christmas can be fun!" Lemon exclaimed. "And how do propose we do that?" Indigo asked. "You'll see" Zest replied with. Back at the mall Sour Sweet and Sunny Flare were still arguing. "Look all I'm saying is just because your name is Sour, it doesn't mean you always have to be sour!" Sunny flare yelled. Her and Sour Sweet and been going for about 2 hours now and Sugarcoat had left them do it. "And all I'm saying is you do you and i'll do me!" Sour yelled back. Sugarcoat was on her way home when she saw Indigo and Lemon. "What are you two up to?" she asked Zap because lemon was busy. "She says she's going to make everyone be happy at christmas, I don't know how though" The athlete replied with. " I just want them all to be happy." Lemon said. "Ok Zest but it's your funeral." Sugarcoat told her. Sour Sweet and Sunny flare had finally given up the fight, but now they'd gone the opposite way, instead of screaming and yelling at each other they weren't talking at all. Then the others arrived to put Lemons plan in action. "So" Lemon bagan. "We are going to show you two what a good time christmas is!" "Me!? , but she's the one who kept saying how much she hates it and how it's a waste of time!" Sunny yelled. "Yeah but to be fair Sunny you did start the argument." Indigo commented. "Shut it Zap! Leave the unwanted opinion sharing to sugarcoat!" Sunny yelled back Sugarcoat then stepped in. "Look it's getting late it's cold, Lemon Zest can we please just get on with this so we can all go home?" "Certainly." Lemon answered. Her plan was to show Sour Sweet a christmas film about how a man didn't like christmas so he was taken to his past, present and future. By the end of the Sour's mood hadn't changed. She just stormed off home. "Well that didn't go has planned." Lemon said sadly. Indigo was quick to comfort her friend. " You did your best Zest, not even Equestrian magic could take Sour out of her bad moods." "Wait that's it!" Lemon squealed with excitement. "What's it?" Sunny flare asked. "You'll see come on let's go!" Lemon shouted. The Rainbooms were rehearsing for there schools christmas concert when there was loud knock at the door. "Who could that be?" Rainbow asked. "No idea." Sunset answered Pinkie then answered the door. "Girls we need your help NOW!" Lemon screamed in pinkies face. "Um is everything ok?" Rarity asked. "No it is NOT!" Lemon shouted "What's happened?" Fluttershy asked. The crystal prep girls then explained the days events to the Rainbooms. "So you see this is why we need you to use your magic on Sour so she'll think christmas is fun!" Lemon said "Lemon we can't force Sour Sweet to like christmas" Twilight explained. "So what do we do then?" Indigo asked. "Well we could try showing Sour all the other fun things there are to do at christmas, then maybe she'll find something she really likes to do." Twilight answered. So thats exactly what they all did, they showed Sour Sweet all the different fun things there were at christmas. They showed her the decorations, the lights, the food and even the presents. And Sour actually had fun. "Wow I guess i really under estimated this whole holiday, it was really fun!" Sour shouted with festive spirit for the first time ever! "Told you it was!" Lemon squealed. Author's Note So after 8 months I finally decided to update! oh well better late than never right? Have a merry christmas, new chapters will be coming in the new year! amputation(Indigos point of view) All I can remember is one minute I was on my motorbike and the next I going out of consciences and people were screaming and there were flashing lights and sirens. There had been an accident on one of the main roads, involving Indigo Zap and a four by four. She had swerved her motorbike to avoid hitting a small child that was crossing the road, fortunately the child was fine and received no injuries , just a little shaken up. Indigo was not so lucky and had her right leg snapped by the vehicle. The last thing she could remember was people screaming and then she blacked out. (Lemons point of view) When I heard about the accident I was straight to the hospital I didn't even tell my friends where I was going or what had happened. I then came across a doctor and decided to ask him where I could find Indigo. "Excuse me I'm looking for my friend do you know where she is" I asked the doctor. " Whats her name"? The doctor asked. "Indigo Zap" I told him. "Oh well I'm sorry but at the moment she can't have any visitors" he told me. "Ok well can you at least tell me how she is?" I asked him "She's still unconscious at the moment, her right leg was severely damaged we think were gonna have to amputate". "Oh ok thank you" I answered sadly. "I knew what amputate meant, and I knew what it would mean for Indigo. It would be at Least a month in a rehab centre but she's strong so I know she'll be ok in the end". (Indigos point of view) I woke up and all I could see was these two figures. My parents. "Whats going on?" I croaked. "Oh sweetie your awake! Were so glad you're ok" my mum said. "What happened?" I asked. "There was an accident. Now we have something to tell you, but you need to stay calm." my dad told me. "What?!" I shouted. "Your leg was so badly damaged that the doctors had no choice but to amputate" my mum told me "You mean its gone?" I asked as I started to choke up "Shh don't cry it will be alright, your a strong kid and you'll be able to get through this , and you'll have lots of support." my mum said in a comforting voice. "I guess so" I said and then went back to sleep. So now I was going to have to adjust to life with only one leg. Author's Note this chapter will have two more stories that will be linked with it, they will be coming soon. Learning to adjustAuthor's Note This is a sequel to amputation. Learning to adjust (Indigos point of view) I have to learn to adjust to life with only one leg, I don’t know how I’m going to be able to do that, but with really supportive parents and friends like lemon zest I’m sure I’ll be ok. It had been about a month since Indigos motorbike accident, she had been to rehab and was starting to get used having to use the crutches and only having one leg to balance. She was heading back to the crystal city and she couldn’t wait to see her friends. (Lemons point if view) Indigo was coming home today and I couldn’t wait to see her. Don’t get me wrong the other girls are great but Zaps been my best friend since we were little kids. “Lemon will you calm down she’ll be here soon” Sunny flare told me “I know but I just can’t wait to see it’s been so long” I replied back with “It’s only been a month” Sugarcoat said in her usual deadpan voice “ Yes I know that, but she might of had a hard time with only having the one leg” I told her. Just then a car arrived where the girls were stood talking. Indigo got out the car and was able to use her crutches to make her way over to her friends. I was so excited to see Indigo that I rushed up to her. “Indy!” I shouted “Hey lemon, it’s nice to see again it’s been to quiet without you screaming irritating rock music in my hear” Indigo zap told her best friend. “Love you too Zappie!” I told her “It sure is nice to have you back Indigo” Sunny said “Yeah we missed you, even Sour Sweet. But she won’t admit that” Sugarcoat added “Where is Sour Sweet anyway?” Indigo asked “She had some homework to, she needed to get it done , but you’ll see her later” I told her “Ok” was all Indigo answered. “So how was rehab?” Sugarcoat asked “It was ok, I’m getting used to having to limp everywhere. It doesn’t hurt as much as did at the beginning “ Indigo told her “Will you always have to limp and use the crutches?” I asked “No I have a consultation next week about getting a prosthetic leg, and I’ll only have to use the crutches until I can walk on that properly. It’ll take a lot of physio and a lot of paitence” Indigo told them “Something you don’t have” Sugarcoat said “Either way you’ll be ok with everything right?” I asked “Yeah I’ll be fine Lemon, I’ve just got to get used to waking with a bit of a limp for a while. And then start to learn how to play sports again. Indigo told replied. “Well don’t go excerting your self Zap we care about you and need you to be ok, even if that takes a while” Sunny said “Relax Sunny I’ll be fine it’ll take more than a lost limb to slow me down” Indigo told her. “Well at least your being positive about it” Sugarcoat said. “Yeah at least that’s something” Indigo answered back with. “Well we better be heading home it’s getting late. You coming Indy?” I asked “That’s alright Lemon my parents are coming to get me , but thanks for the offer” Indigo answered “Ok see you tomorrow” I said. (Indigos point of view) I got home after my parents had picked me up, I went straight to my bedroom and just cried into my pillow. That’s all I had done since I got out of the hospital... Just as tough as before (Indigos point of view) I had been crying every day since I got out of the hospital, at Rehab and at home fortunately I was able to hide it from everyone so no one noticed. I got a text from lemon zest saying that pinkie pie had invited us all to her house for a slumber party a long with the rainbooms. Of course I wanted to go but I was so scared of crying in front of them, what if they don’t think I’m as tough as they thought I was? (No one point of view) The girls all started to arrive at pinkies house, indigo was late because she was trying to calm herself down before she went , but because she was often late for things that didn’t involve competing there wasn’t a lot of suspicion raised about it. “There’s being fashionably late and then there’s taking the piss!” Sour yelled in anger “To be fair sour sweet she is on one leg at the moment, normally she would of used her motorbike” Sunny defended “Well that’s not going to happen for a long time” sugarcoat piped up After waiting for another 15 minutes indigo finally showed up, she had been crying but luckily for her no one noticed. “Sorry I’m late pinkie I just forgot a few things” indigo told the party loving girl “It’s fine zappie but are you ok?” Pinkie asked her “Yeah I’m fine” was the only answer that was given “Well now that everyone is here we can start the fun!” Rainbow exclaimed The girls had ordered pizza and decided to put on a movie. They were about 15 minutes into the film when indigo got the urge to cry again. Not wanting to cry in front of her friends she asked pinkie where the bathroom was. “It’s up the stairs and then on the left!” Pink told her in an excitiable voice “Ok thank you” zap replied It had been about 20 minutes and indigo still hadn’t returned from the bathroom. The girls were starting to get worried. “I think somethings wrong “ twilight said “So do I but what?” Applejack asked “We need to find out” rarity stated, the others all nodding in agreement “Yeah but who’s going to ask?” Sunny asked, an idea then popped into her head.” Sunset can’t you use your magic to find out what’s wrong?” “I could but if something is bothering indigo zap then she needs to tell us herself” susnet answered “Lemon zest you go and talk to her” sour sweet ordered the rock loving teen “Why do I have to do it?” Lemon asked “Your her best friend, she’s less likely to punch you” sour told her. Even though lemon didn’t like that answer it made sense. Lemon then made her way up to the bathroom, the door wasn’t locked so she able to just walk in. When she entered the bathroom she saw indigo sat in the toilet , she looked a mess, her eyes were red she had obviously been crying. Lemon then knelt down to her friends level and started Talking to her. “Indy what’s wrong?” She asked in her most comforting voice. At first indigo zap didn’t reply and just sat there in silent, after about 5 more minutes she broke down in tears again. Lemon was able to grab hold of her as she went to punch the mirror in pinkies bathroom. “Shh shh what’s wrong?” Lemon asked her friend as she just kept shushing her and rubbing her back. After a further 5 minutes indigo finally calmed down and was able to tell lemon zest what was going on. “I just feel like nothing is going to be the same again, I’m never going to be able to play sports or do any of the other things I love to do!” Indy screamed and started to bawl again. This time lemon didn’t say anything and just started to rock her friend in hopes of calming her down. Eventually it worked. “Indy listen to me, you will still be able to all those things” she told her “Yeah but what if the others don’t think I’m as tough as they all thought?” “ what if they think I’m being a baby?!” Indigo asked her “They won’t think that, come with me and you’ll see” lemon said gently dragging her back downstairs to the living room where the others were waiting. Indigo told them all about the way she was feeling and after she’d finished rainbow dash came up and gave her a hug. “Listen zap your one of the toughest people I know , there no way a missing leg will change that. In fact I think it makes you even tougher that you were before” rainbow told her “You all think this?” Indigo turned her attention to the rest of the girls. “Hmm hmm” they said in unison (Six weeks later) Indigo zap was now using the prosthetic leg that the doctor had given her and with the plenty of physio thearapy and lots encouragement and support from her friends she was able to get back to old self. Going deaf?Sugarcoat: lemon , lemon, LEMON ZEST! Lemon: what!? Sugarcoat I’ve asked about 8 times what drink do you want? Lemon: oh sorry I’ll have a strawberry milkshake Sour: you going deaf or something zest? Indigo: probably seeing as how she never takes off her headphones Lemon: I do take them off thank you zap Sunny: when you’re asleep doesn’t count Lemon zest always wore her headphones. She wore them all day and would wear them all night if her parents allowed her to do so. This had actually resulted in a lot of detentions at school be zest wouldn’t pay attention in class but the problem was about get a lot worse. Miss harshwinnie: so class who can tell me the square root of 81? Nobody raises their hand Miss harshwinnie: lemon zest can you tell me the answer? Lemon doesn’t answer Indigo: she won’t answer you because she can’t hear you Miss harshwinnie: why can’t she hear me? Sugarcoat: because she never takes off her headphones Miss harshwinnie: right well can someone else answer the question? Otherwise we’ll be here all day Sunny: the answer is 9 Miss harshwinnie: yes thank you sunny flare The girls were now sat in the common room during the lunch hour when the fire alarm went off, this was just a drill but no one actually knew that. Due to her recent struggle to hear anything lemon zest had not heard the fire alarm go off and indigo and sunny had physically had to drag lemon outside because she couldn’t here all the screaming of her name. Finally after a quick registration to make sure everyone was safe the kids were allowed back into the school. Indigo: lemon you really need to get this sorted it’s becoming a safety issue Lemon: I know I just don’t know what to do Sour: you could start by taking off your stupid headphones for once! Sunny: sour I really don’t think yelling at her is going to help, and I think it’s going to take more than just removing the headphones Lemon: what do you mean? Sunny: I think your gonna have to have your parents take you to the doctor to get hearing tested Lemon: if you think that’s what’s best? The other four girls nodded in union So lemon was taken to the doctor by her parents , the doctor confirmed that lemon was not going deaf but constantly wearing the headphones with loud rock music blasting through them was affecting her hearing so she needed to cut down on how much she used them. A whole week has gone by since lemons appointment with the doctor and although it was a struggle at first with limited time with the headphones she was getting used to it, and her hearing was getting back to normal. Only issue now was she wouldn’t stop talking. Sour: I think I preferred it when she was deaf Indigo: why do you say that sour? Sour: because at least when she couldn’t hear us and was in her own little world she was quiet! Sunny: well I like her like this , at least now we know she’s paying attention in class her grades have never been better Sugarcoat: that’s true Indigo: amen to that Sour: I suppose so Lemon: what you guys talking about? All: NOTHING! So lemon stopped wearing her headphones all the time and things got a lot easier for the group of friends. Author's Note It’s been a while since I updated this story so I am happy to take any constructive criticism but please nothing mean. Ear infectionAuthor's Note I decided that i wanted to change the age for some of these chapters so indigo is only 3 years old in this chapter. Thunder: indigo‘s father Lightning: indigo’s mother Ear infection Indigo: mummy! Lightning: ugh what time is it? Thunder: it’s about 2:00 am why? Lightning: because indy’s screaming I don’t know why Indigo: MUMMY! Lightning: I’m going to go and see what the problem is Thunder: ok what you say Indigo had woken up with an awful pain in her right ear and had been screaming for her mum for about an hour. Lightning had finally woken up from the screaming and gone into to indigo’s room to see what she was crying about. When she walks into her daughters room, indigo’s face was stained with tears and she looked rather flushed. Indigo finally saw her mum coming into the room. Indigo: mummy! (hiccup) Lightning: oh baby whats the matter? Indigo: (crying) I don’t feel very well! Indigo’s mum felt her forehead Lightning: you feel very hot, is anything in particular hurting? Indigo: (wails) my ear! Lightning: ok, ok shh let me have a look. She looked at indigo’s ear and it looked very red and sore. Lightning: oh baby I think your ear might be infected Indigo: make it go away! Lightning: Oh I can’t right now darling, I’ll get you some calpol and you can come and sleep with me and daddy for the rest of night, and I’ll call the doctors as soon as it opens. She got indigo the calpol and took her back into her and her husbands bedroom. Thunder: you’ve been a while, is everything ok? Lightning I think she might have an ear infection, I’m going to call the doctor first thing tomorrow Thunder: ok but right now let’s all try and get some sleep. They all fell asleep in the big bed for the rest of the night. When indigo woke up her ear was hurting twice as much as it was the night before, when she woke up her parents were not by her side as they had already woken up, and her mum had already called the doctor. Indigo: mummy! (Hiccup) Lightning: it sounds like she’s up Thunder: she wants you, you go up and get her I’ll finish making breakfast Lightning: ok but I can’t see indy wanting anything: Indigo was heavily sobbing when her mum walked into her room Lightning: hey what’s the matter? Indigo: (crying) you left me! Lightning: I was just downstairs with daddy baby, he’s making breakfast do you want anything to eat? Indigo: shakes head Lightning: ok baby lets go downstairs and I’ll check your temperature again. They went downstairs and and lightning checked indigo’s temperature again , and it had risen about 2 degrees. Thunder: how is she? Lightning: her temperature seems to have risen Thunder: ok what time is her appointment? Lightning: 10:30 Thunder: ok (At the doctors office) lightning had driven herself and indigo to the doctor’s and it hadn’t been a pretty journey. Indigo was in a lot of pain with her ear and her fever seemed be getting higher despite the fact her mum had given her more calpol. They were sitting in the waiting area at the doctors indigo had fallen asleep in her mums arms. They had been waiting for 20 minutes when they were finally called in to see the doctor. Doctor brown: so what seems to be the problem here? Lightning: my daughters ear is really red and sore and her temperature seems to be sky high, I think she might have an ear infection. Doctor brown: (turned to indigo) ok can I have a look sweetie? He went to touch indigo’s ear Indigo: N-no! Lightning: hey shh calm down the doctor just wants to look at your ear so he can make it better. Indigo: but it hurts! Lightning: I know it does but it won’t get better if the doctor doesn’t look at it. Indigo: ok. Doctor brown: ok so it looks like indigo’s ear is infected, i suggest plenty of rest and calpol to keep her temperature down and I’ll prescribe her some antibiotics for the infection, I’m guessing you want it in a liquid form? Lightning: yes please Doctor brown: ok I’ll be right back. He went out back to fetch the medicine. Doctor brown: here you go just give it to 3 times a day for the next 4 days and she should be right as rain in no time. Lightning: ok thank you Lightning had given indigo the medicine in the car and indigo had fallen asleep in the car. When they got back to the house she was beginning to stir and eventually woke up, her mum carried her into the house and put her on the couch then covered her with the blanket that they had thrown over the couch. Indigo realised that her ear was still really hurting and she started to sob. Lightning: hey what’s wrong? Indigo: my ear is still h-hurting! Lightning: oh baby it’ll take a few minutes for the medicine to work Indigo: but I want the hurt to go away NOW! Lightning: shh shh I know you do, why don’t we have a cuddle on the sofa and watch Mickey Mouse? Indigo: o-ok (she wiped her eyes) Thunder: does anyone want anything to eat? Lightning: no thank you love , are you off to work? Thunder: yeah I’ll not be home late tonight Lightning: ok: Lightning had indigo in her arms has she was rocking and shushing her daughter as she kept crying that her ear was hurting. Lightning: shhh shhh come on baby I know it hurts but try to get some sleep you might feel better once you do. Eventually after a lot of soothing talk and rocking indigo finally fell asleep in her mums arms, when she woke up she was a little groggy but her ear wasn’t hurting as bad anymore. Lightning: hey sweetie you feeling a little better? Indigo: yeah can I have a drink please? Lightning: yeah I’ll get you one and your due for some more medicine. She fetched indigo her drink and medicine. When thunder entered the house from his shift at work. Thunder: hey Lightning: hey how was work? Thunder: same as usual, hows Indy? Lightning: she seems better than she was a few hours ago Thunder: that’s good I’ll go and see her Lightning: ok would you take this into her( the drink and medicine) Thunder: yeah ok. After about 4 days indigo’s ear infection started to heal up and she was feeling a lot better. She was starting to her energy and her appetite back and was back being the wild child she usually was. The back of the busThe friendship games had just ended in a tie and lets just say principle cinch was pissed. CPA had a Reputation in that they are expected to win every competition they participate in , so when principle Celestia declared both schools winners she was not happy about it. Sour sweet: well another games done, don’t think cinch is too happy about the end results though. Lemon zest: yeah tell me about it, but at least now we have 7 new friends and no one got hurt. Sugar coat: you seem to be forgetting what happened back there zest. Lemon zest: well i mean apart from the whole midnight sparkle deal.The crystal prep students were piling back onto the bus and indigo zap had gone up to her usual seat at the front, there was a reason as to why she sat at the front every time they went on field trips, it wasn’t because she liked to yell in everyone’s faces like people think, although she did enjoy that part. It was because she had really bad travel sickness any bump they went over and corner they turned would make her stomach flip. As she approached her usual seat she was blocked by an angry looking principle cinch. Principle cinch: what do you think your doing miss zap? Indigo zap: uhh taking a seat? Principle cinch: not there you’re not, only winners sit at the front go sit at the back with the rest of the students that have let the schools reputation down. Indigo zap: (nervously whimper) b-but. Principle cinch: just do it.So indigo went to the back of bus and sat with her now friends, they had always gotten along but they never classed each other has actual friends until now, it seemed everything that had happened had put things into perspective for the 5 girls. They were about 20 minutes into the hour long bus journey home things were actually alright to start with, but then they had to down a really bumpy lane which indigo had completely forgotten about. As the bus juddered over the bumps and pot wholes zap could feel her stomach twisted and she had started to sweat. Sunny flare: are you alright indigo? Indigo zap: ( quietly) yeah sunny I’m fine. No one knew about zaps travel sickness other than her parents she had been given medication but she didn’t ever take it. Besides she usually has the front of the bus so she didn’t need to. Sunny flare: are you sure? Because you don’t look to good. She reached up to feel indigo’s forehead there was a little heat but nothing drastic and it was pretty warm on the bus. Indigo zap: I promise I’m fi- Indigo didn’t have chance to finish her sentence when the bus took a sharp turn around the bend, all of a sudden her stomach jolted and she threw up all over herself and the floor in front of her. This got the attention of the students most of the laughed whilst the rest of the shadow 5 went up to where indigo and sunny were sat.Sour sweet: what happened? Sunny flare: I’m not sure. She just rubbed indigo’s back has she continued to vomit she was starting to shake and tear up a little bit now probably from the shock. Dean Cadance: is everything alright back hear girls? Lemon zest: I don’t think indies feeling too well dean cadence. Sugar coat: (Sarcastically) great observation lemon. Lemon zest: is now really the appropriate time for your sarcasm sugarcoat? Sunny flare: will you both shut up? She just keeps throwing up I don’t know what the problem is. Dean cadence: ok let me sit there for a minute. Sunny moved out the way so dean cadence could sit in her seat indigo zap still throwing up but at least now it was in a bucket that sour sweet had given to her. Dean cadence: indigo look at me for a minute. Zap lifted her head from the bucket to look at the dean her eyes were now swollen from crying and and the heat in her head had risen. Cadence felt indigo’s forehead in the same way that sunny flare had done previously, there were signs of a mild temperature but nothing to concerning. Dean cadence: you feeling alright? Indigo zap: n-no. And with that she threw up again. Dean cadence: is anything hurting indigo? Indigo zap: my head a little bit but not that much. She had finally stopped puking as she probably nothing left in her system, however she was still shaking and crying slightly. Dean cadence: do you think this could be travel sickness? Indigo zap: *sigh* yeah I do get it quite badly that’s why I usually sit at the front of the bus, but cinch wouldn’t let me she said only winners sit at the front. Dean cadence: ok well we’re nearly back at CPA there is still a bit of time left in the school day, but I’ll call your parents and get them to come and pick you up early ok? Indigo zap: ok thank you dean cadence. Dean cadence: no problem.Indigo zap had been picked up by her mother who was not happy about principle cinch’s treatment towards her daughter. Yeah sure cinch didn’t know about indigo’s travel sickness as nobody did, but apparently she just sat at the front of the bus completely ignoring what was going on at the back. Indigo was sat on the sofa with one of the blankets that was already on there watching a film, she had changed into her pyjamas when her mother walked into the room, she had just gotten off the phone with cadence saying to not send indigo to school for the next couple of days. Her mother sat down next to indigo and started to run her hand through her hair. She could see that her daughter was exhausted from the events on the coach and thought she could do with a rest. Lightning: why don’t you try and get some sleep? You look tired. She continued to stroke her daughter’s hair. Indigo zap: yeah I think I might I just can’t seem to stop shivering. Lightning: that’ll be from the shock. She had already taken indigo’s temperature and although it was slightly higher than usual it wasn’t at fever level so that was something at least. Lightning: you’ll feel better once you’ve had a sleep. Indigo zap: ok. Her mother stood up and pulled the covers further up and then kissed indigo’s forehead, as she left the room she turned the tv off and the lights down. After a few hours of sleep indigo was feeling much better. Author's Note Another chapter about illness I know. Oh well enjoy! EpilepsyNo one other than lemon zest and sugarcoat knew about indigo zaps epilepsy as she had always kept it a secret, because she didn’t want people to look at her in a different way or for it to get in the way of her sports, but that was all about to change. The shadow 5 were hanging out outside crystal prep when their phones all beeped. It was the group chat that they shared with the rain booms. (On tex) twilight: do you girls want to come over to sunsets this afternoon? She’s got the new Tirek video game and wants to have a tournament for her gaming channel. Lemon zest: they want us to go to sunsets to play the new Tirek game, you girls in? Indigo zap: I am! Sour sweet: me too! Sunny flare: sure why not? Sugarcoat: got nothing better to do. The girls went over to sunsets apartment where she and the other rainbooms were already set up for the tournament. Sunset: hey girls you came?! Sugarcoat: of course we came why wouldn’t we? Sunset: I just thought that you would have something better to do. Indigo zap: hey we might be a much friendlier and calmer group, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to whoop your ass at any chance that I get! Sugarcoat: ( sarcastically) so beautifully put zap. Twilight: so any way I’ve already set up the teams. (The teams) Twilight x sunset Applejack x sugarcoat Pinkie x lemon Rainbow x indigo Rarity x sunny Fluttershy x sour sweet All sans twilight: yeah that’s fine! The tournament was going great all teams had been eliminated apart from twilight and sunset and rainbow and indigo, this didn’t surprise anyone, twilight was really good at strategies and the other 3 just hated losing and played video games on a daily basis. This was the first time that dash and indie had played with each other instead of against. It was well until they reached the boss level which had a lot of flashing lights. Rainbow dash: ha! There’s no way you too are going to beat us at the boss level, I’ve played more of these that twilight has read books! And I’m sure indie is the same, right zap? Indigo didn’t answer straight away so rainbow tried again. Rainbow dash: earth to indigo did you hear what i said? Indigo zap: uh? Yeah sorry Rainbow, I just zoned out for a minute. Applejack: you’ve been rubbing your temple for a while now, is everything alright? Indigo zap: yeah I’m fine let’s just get back to the game. The girls carried on playing with the rest of their friends cheering, well screaming in pinkies case. The flashing lights seemed to be getting worse, rainbow noticed that the other avatar on her side of the screen had stopped moving. Rainbow dash: zap you do realise that you actually need to move the joystick right? Indigo didn’t hear rainbow call to her nor did she hear any of the others when they tried her, the lights were making her feel sick and she could feel that a seizure was going to happen and then her secret would be revealed. Rainbow dash: indie? Just has rainbow said that indigo’s eyes rolled to the back of her head as she fell off of the seat she was sitting on. Fluttershy: maybe the game was getting to much for her? That’s when indigo started to convulse. Rarity: girls look! Pinkie pie: oh my goodness should we call an ambulance or something?! Sunny flare: yeah I think we ought to this isn’t normal! Sour sweet: I’ll do it! Sugarcoat and lemon zest: no wait! We don’t need an ambulance. Twilight: what?! Of course we do! Lemon zest: (sigh) indigo has epilepsy, it’s normal for her to have seizures every now and then. The flashing lights must of coursed this one. Sunset: so what do we do? Sugarcoat: just put her on her side and place a pillow under her head, fetch her a glass of water . She’ll be tired when it’s over we’ll take her to the doctor in the morning if she still isn’t feeling well. The girls did what sugarcoat had told them it had been about 5 minutes and the fit was just starting to slow down. Applejack: how long does this usually last for? Lemon zest: not long. Usually 5 or 10 minutes give or take. Sunny flare: I do have a question, how come you and sugarcoat seemed to know about this and we Didn’t? Sugarcoat: indigo’s first seizure was about 6 months ago it was at game practice I think it was caused by stress. * flashback* Coach: alright team you are now dismissed from practise, and zap? Indigo zap: yes coach? Coach: I need you hear tomorrow at 6 to go over the regime again ok? Indigo zap: yes coach. This has been indigo’s life for the past month this was her first time being crystal preps captain and the pressure was starting to get to her. ( in the changing rooms) sugarcoat: wow that was an intense training session. Didn’t you think so zap? Uh indigo? Thats when indigo then fainted and started to shake. This made sugarcoat panic. Sugarcoat: indigo! Don’t worry I’ll go and get someone! After sugarcoat has called for help from the teachers an ambulance was called and the seizure had stopped. Sugarcoat was stroking indigo’s hair as she had now sat back up. Indigo zap: *whimmpers* what happened? She had tears in her eyes. Sugarcoat: shh it’s ok I think you just had a seizure, how are you feeling? Indigo zap: sick. Sugarcoat: ok well the ambulance is here and the paramedics are going to want to talk to you ok? Indigo zap: ok. After she was taken to hospital the doctors said that the seizure was stress related and let her go home. * Back to the present day* Sunset: ok so that was a stress induced seizure how did she end up with epilepsy? Lemon zest: I guess it’s my turn to tell you my story. * flashback* Lemon zest: hey indie you wanna come over after school? Indigo zap: sure why not? The girls went over to lemons to hang out, they were just talking when again indigo fainted and started to convulse. After about 20 minutes she woke up and realised that she wasn’t in lemons room anymore. Indigo zap: what happened? Where am I? Nurse: your in the in hospital sweetheart. You had a seizure, how are you feeling? Indigo zap: sick and tired. Where’s lemon zest? Nurse: your friend just went get a drink, she’s back now. Lemon zest: indie! I’m so glad your alright! Indigo zap: yeah lemon I’m fine. Nurse: indigo have you had any kid of seizures before this one? Indigo zap: yeah I had one about 4 months ago. Lemon zest: what when? Indigo zap: it was after practice, sugarcoat was there, they think it was stress related and tiredness. But i didn’t feel stressed or tired before this one. Nurse: ok I’ll be back in a minute. * back to the present * Sugarcoat: about a month after the second seizure she was diagnosed with epilepsy. Sour sweet: ok how come she told she told you two and not the rest of us? I mean I know you and lemon have always been closest to her, but even so. Lemon zest: sour, indie didn’t choose to tell us, the only reason we knew was because the seizures happened in front of us. Sugarcoat: yeah she made us swear not to tell anyone because she didn’t want people to look at her in a different way, or treat her any differently. Fluttershy: has she ever had any other seizures other than those 2 and the one tonight? Sugarcoat: probably but we’ve not seen them. That’s when twilight and rainbow came back in from the spare bedroom. Applejack: how is she? Twilight: sleeping. You sure she’ll definitely be ok in the morning? Lemon zest: yeah positive. She might be a little tired and groggy , but after a full days rest she’ll be perfectly fine. Sunset: ok I still feel kinda bad though, it was the game that caused it. Sugarcoat: sunset , flashing lights are a common cause of seizures in epileptics, it could of happened at any moment. The important thing is that she gets some sleep. And so should the rest of us for that matter, I think it’s time we head home. Sunset: why don’t you all stay here tonight? We can take indigo to the doctor in the morning then? The girls agreed and they all stayed at sunsets. The following morning after the had taken indigo to the doctor who just told her to take it easy and rest for a few days, things got back to normal. Appendicitis"Indigo wake up its time for school!" her father shouted. "Ugh why!?" was all the teenager groaned in response. "Because its important. Now get your backside down here!" Indigo Zap made her way down the stairs , but as she got to the bottom she started to feel a little dizzy. "Whats for breakfast mum?" she asked her mother. "Pancakes" her mum began , but then looked at her daughter with a little worry. "Are you okay honey? You look a little pale". "Actually mum I do feel a little bit dizzy". Lightning gently put the palm of her hand against indigos forehead. "You do feel a little warm, maybe I should call the school". "What!? No!" thunder yelled. ''I had a phone call from principal cadence last week stating that she's already behind with her school work." "Ok, but if you feel any worse later sweetheart get the school to call me and I'll come and pick you up ok?" "Ok thanks mum bye!" "Bye sweetie." As the day past bye indigos dizziness wore off but she was starting to develop a sharp stabbing pain in the bottom right side of her stomach. "Are you ok zap?" lemon zest asked her friend."You've hardly touched your cheese and ham sandwich." "Yeah and you do look rather pale." Sugarcoat added in. "I'm fine guys, don't worry about me. Come on were going to be late for maths. They were about 20 minutes into the maths lesson and the pain in indigos stomach had increased. The teacher noticed this and approached the girl. "Are you ok indigo?" "I don't feel very well miss." "lemon zest can you take her to the nurse?" "Of course miss. Come on indy." On the way to the nurses office indigo had started to shake and sweat a lot. "Knock knock" "Come in !" the nurse called. "Lemon zest , Indigo zap! What can i do for the two of you?" "Indigos not feeling very well nurse nancy." Lemon answered with great concern in her voice. "Sit on the examination table and I'll take a look at you." Nurse Nancy instructed indigo zap. Nurse Nancy got the thermometer and placed it in indigos ear. It read "42 degrees celsius" "Well you defiantly have a fever. I'll call your mother to come and pick you up." "Ok thank you." As nurse nancy was heading towards the door to call indigos mum, indigo felt and intense pain shoot through her stomach again. "Aah!" indigo screamed in agony. "Indy are you okay!?" lemon screamed with worry. "No" indigo whimpered. Nurse nancy then rushed back over to them. She grabbed a bucket and held it under indigos chin just in time for her to throw up. "Where does it hurt darling?" "My stomach on the right side at the bottom!" "What are we going to do nurse?" lemon questioned. "I think we might have to call an ambulance, I think she has appendicitis." "999 whats your emergency?" " I have a student here with a high fever and possible appendicitis" "Students name?" "Indigo zap" "And the name of the school?" "Crystal prep academy" "Ok an ambulance will be with you shortly" "Thank you." Whilst nurse nancy was calling the ambulance lemon zest was doing her best to comfort her sick friend. She had indigo zaps head in her lap and was stroking her hair in a attempt to soothe her. "It h-hurts!" indigo cried. "Shhh, I know it does indy , but you'll be better soon I promise." Lemon gently cooed as the doors opened to reveal nurse with two paramedics with a stretcher. They got indigo zap into the ambulance and placed an IV drip with morphine into her hand to try and ease the pain in her stomach a little bit. They then started to ask her a series of questions. "Name?" "Indigo zap" "Date of birth?" "18/12/2002" "Adress?" "15 Rocky Road , Crystal City" "Ok and who do you do live with?" "My mum and dad" "And they are?" "Lighting zap and thunder zap" "Ok thats all" Indigo lost consciousness shortly after that Within minutes of arriving at the hospital zap was being rushed into the operating room. The doctor had confirmed it was appendicitis and a bad case of it at that. They needed to remove it as soon as possible. "What happened!? Is she ok!?" Lightning frantically asked the doctor. "Her appendix was about to burst but we managed to remove it just time. She should be waking in about half an hour" "Ok thank you" "This is all your fault thunder!" "And how did you work that one out?" " She said she wasn't feeling well this morning and you made her go to school!" " Lightning all teenagers try to skive school especially when they have a test. How was I supposed to know she was genuinely ill?" They continued to argue until the nurse came to speak to them."Mr and Mrs zap your daughter has come round from the operation." Indigos woke up feeling a little groggy and her vision was blurry. When her vision finally became clear she saw lightning standing there with worry plastered all over her face. "Mum?" She questioned the women standing in front of her. "Yes baby I'm here" lightning answered her daughter as she removed the hair out of her eyes. "Wheres dad?" indigo asked her mum. "He's gone to get some drinks sweetheart." "Oh ok" "Is something wrong darling?" lightning was worried again. "Its just I thought he didn't believe me." Indigo answered her mother with tears in her ears. " Oh baby of course he believed you , and he would never have made you go to school if he had known how poorly you were. "Promise?" "I promise. Now get some sleep." Lightning instructed as she bent down and kissed indigos forehead. Within moments indigo was fast asleep. Lightning and Thunder then went back outside to speak to the doctor. "Ok so she'll need to stay of school for two weeks and stay away from any physical activities for two weeks also" the doctor explained. "She's not going to like that. Sport are her life" thunder said." "I know" the doctor responded. " But don't worry she'll be back to her self in no time." And within 4 short weeks indigo was back to her old energetic and cocky self. The curseLemons POV It was a dark and lemon zest was with her sister orange zest and they were running through the storm. "Its a strong storm sis" orange said "Sure is" lemon replied as soon as they came to a sign orange said "That they should go down here" i thought to myself no its to dangerous but she started running "WAIT!" i shouted then i heard something "run" i shouted but it was to late and the ground underneath collapsed. It took me a while to wake from being unconscious then i heard orange scream i ran to to her then i saw something no one should ever have to see it was a dracchangling which i had heard was a dragon changling and that they ate humans "orange"! I shouted but then it turned to me "shit" and then i ran i kept running until i found my self tripping up and falling down a small hole. After i had realised what had happened a group of dracchanglings came towards me i stuttered backwards and then cut my self on a rock a bolt of lightning struck me and then i turned into a drachangling as soon as i started running to wards them they backed down it took me a while to turn human again and i was terrified but i knew with this power i had to go avenge my sisters death i decided to go to the hive and thats were i went but as soon as i got to the hive loads of dracchangling came buzzing towards i bit my hand and turned into a dracchangling and i killed a bunch of them. As soon as i had came to the kings room i saw the same one who killed orange we started fighting and he pushed me out of my transformation "aw poor you now die" he said and as soon as he started putting his hand over my head i punched him in his and and i shouted "GET AWAY FROM ME RAT BASTED I'LL KILL YOU WHERE YOU STAND!!" as soon as i had finished shouting a bunch of dracchanglings started eating him then i ran and went outside and it started to rain i did it sis i got vengeance for you i thought happily in my head. Author's Note I didn't write this one. My brother did. TonsilitisWhen Indigo woke up she noticed that she was sweating, despite the fact that it was only 9 degrees. She also had a really sore throat and didn't know what it was, so she went downstairs to her parents. "So you got work this morning dear?" Lightning asked her husband. "Yeah just got until lunch time." her husband Thunder replied. "By the way have you seen Indigo? She's going to be late for school. Again." Just then Indigo came downstairs sweating and coughing like mad. "Sweetheart are you ok?" her mother asked. "No I'm sweating, but I feel cold and my throat really hurts" Lightning put her hand up to Indigos forehead and cheek. She looked at her daughter with concern in her eyes. "Hmm it seems you have a fever. Back to bed for you and i will bring you some juice and a hot water bottle." "Could you call the school and tell them she won't be in today?" she asked Thunder. "Yeah sure. You gonna be ok with her?" "Of course I will. You go to work." When Lighting went into Indigos room she was back under her blankets shivering despite her temperature being sky high. "Oh honey I know. Hears some nice cold juice and a hot water bottle just like I promised." "Thanks mum." The sick teen croaked out. "No problem love now get some sleep,I'll be downstairs if you need anything." And with that she left the room and turned the lights back off. Indigo slept for the rest of the day and the whole night. She didn't even wake up for food and this worried her parents. The next morning when Indigo woke up her throat hurt even more than it did the day before. She went downstairs to find her parents who were sat having the morning coffee. "Hey honey. You feeling any better this morning?" Her father asked. "No" she croaked and it sounded really painful. Lighting just looked really worried. "Oh dear you sound worse than yesterday." She then put her hand back to Indigos forehead. "Your burning up I'm taking you to the doctors." The doctor confirmed that Indigo had tonsillitis and she needed plenty of rest and fluids and she should be fine in a few days. "So how is she?" Thunder asked his wife on the phone. Lightning explained everything and then drove back home. By the time they'd gotten home Indigo had fallen asleep in the car. Lightning didn't want to wake her up so she asks thunder to come and help her get Indigo inside. Once they'd got inside Thunder put Indigo in her bed and covered her with the blankets and left her to get the rest she desperately needed. Author's Note I know its not good. The perfect presentLemons POV I can't wait for my birthday party on Friday. It was supposed to be a surprise , but Indigo is shit at keeping secrets. Honestly that girls mouth really runs away with her sometimes, and she wonders why Sour sweet has slapped her in the face so many times. But none the less she is still one of my best friends and for her sake I will act surprised on Friday. When I arrived at school the next day my friends were all there. Well 3 of them were anyway. "Hey Sunny wheres Indigo?" "No idea. She said something about wanting to find you the perfect birthday present." "But she's my friend it doesn't have to be perfect." "I know Zest but you know what she's like." "Rude , obnoxious, annoying." Sour sweet chimed in. " I meant passionate about this new friendship business." Sunny flare corrected. Indigos POV "For goodness sake why can't I find the right kind of gift!?" I screamed in the music shop, only to have the shop keeper stare at me. "What are you looking at!?" I screamed at him. "Do you want some help kid?" He asked me so politely despite me being so rude to him. "No thank you." " Are you sure?" "Yeah I'm just looking for a present for my friend its her birthday." "Ok well let me know if you want any help with anything." After another half an hour of struggling what to get for Lemon zest I finally gave in. "So what would recommend for someone special?" I asked the shop keeper. "Is it your girlfriend?" he asked me. "WHAT!? NO!" I shouted back. "She's just a really good friend thats all, and I really want to get her something that she will love." "What does she like?" "Duh music thats why I'm in here." "Be more specific kid. What type of music?" "Oh well she likes rock, but she has every CD known to man. However she never takes of those damn headphones, and I personally think she could do with some new ones." "Ahh then I have just the thing. Wait right here." So I stood there and waited for him to return."These should be perfect for her." "Wow there awesome!" I exclaimed. "How Much?" "£100" "Sold!" I paid for the new headphones and left the shop. "Thanks have a good day." I said goodbye to the shop keeper. I then glanced at my watch and when I saw what time it was I realised I was running late for the party. "Oh crap!" No ones POV "Where is Indigo zap she's running late. As usual." Sour sweet groaned. "I'm sure she'll be here Sour, have a little faith" Sunny reassured. Just then Sugarcoat saw Lemon Zest approach them. "Forget about Indigo, Lemons coming!" She warned the girls as the 3 went to there hiding places. "SURPRISE!" They all shouted when Lemon walked into the room. "Whats all this?" Lemon acted surprised after she had promised Indigo. Luckily she was quite good at drama. "Its a surprise party for you silly." Sour sweet answered Lemons question. "So do you like it?" " I love it". Lemon answered her. "But wheres Indigo?" It was then Sunny Flare who responded to this. " We don't know. No ones seen her since Wednesday. Just then Indigo finally arrived. "Your late!" Sour sweet scolded. "I know" Indigo say out of breath from running." But I had to make sure I got Lemon the perfect present." She then handed Lemon zest the new headphones. "Oh zap there perfect. But you didn't have to." "I know but you deserve it. So do you like them?" "I love them there perfect. Now lets get this party started!" "Yeah!" they all shouted "Hey Lemon?" "Yes Indigo?" "Thanks for not telling Sour sweet that I accidentally told you about the party." Lemon zest just chuckled at that. "Your welcome Indy, and thanks for the headphones they were the perfect present."
The first day of high schoolFor the girls the first day of high school would be one they would never forget. Not what they expected but not the worst either. "But mum why do I have to go to school?" Lemon asked her mother with a pout. "Because honey its important and who knows you might even enjoy it." "Enjoy school? Yeah right." "Have a good day sweetie!" "Thanks mum." So Lemon zest wasn't happy about the first day of high school, she thought she'd have no mates.But little did she know there was another girl who was feeling exactly the same. "Where are my fucking goggles!?" "Indigo zap! How many times have we told you not to swear?" her father asked her "Sorry dad but I can't find my goggles and I need them." "But why kiddo? Its not like there going to help you with your school work." "No but they'll bring me luck to get on the sports teams." "But you know that life isn't all about sports." "Says the man who taught me everything I know. And besides I have to train as much as possible now, before we know it I'll be to old to even walk on my own. "Your only 11 years old. You've got ages yet." "Well I want to start early." "Fair enough. Now scram or you'll miss the bus." "Bye dad!" "Bye kiddo." So both of the girls arrived at their new school. "Crystal Prep Academy" and neither of them looked to happy. They then heard a voice over the intercom. "Could all first years please make their way to the main hall." Next the principle gave this really long and boring speech about how CPA was a school of winning , and the motto was "Win or go home." Indigo had fallen asleep and was starting to snore until someone lightly shook her arm. "You know your going to get a detention before you've even started." "Who cares? She's so boring!" She said a little to loud. "Do we have a problem over there? Principle cinch asked the blue haired girl. "No Miss" "Thats principle cinch to you. Whats your name kid?" "Indigo zap." "Well Miss Zap if you want to stay at this school I suggest you stay awake and pay attention. Everyone had now been given their time tables and Indigo and Lemon were in all the same classes. "Hey aren't you that girl that got in trouble with the principle? Lemon zest asked "Yeah but I think she was over reacting." "Hmm,I'm Lemon zest by the way." "Indigo zap. But I'm sure you know that already." Once class was over it was time for lunch , and the girls noticed a extra activities board out side of the lunch hall. "Awesome they having try outs for the football/soccer team!" Indigo cheered. "You should totally try out for that ." Lemon encouraged. "Yeah I will." So Indigo zap tried out for the team and the coach was very impressed by her moves. "The results will up tomorrow. Good luck kid." "So dear how was school?" lemons mum asked her "Ok mum I met this girl." "Oh you've made a friend! Thats wonderful." "I don't know if she's a friend yet, but she seems really nice." "Whats her name?" "Indigo zap." "Well as long as your happy love thats all that matters. "Hey kiddo how was school?" "Great dad I tried out for the soccer team." "Good for you. Your mother would be so proud. "I know. Anyway night dad. " Night dear." The next day... "WHAT But why didn't I get in!?" "I'm sorry indigo zap but maybe try again next term." "Fine whatever." "Hey Indy!" Lemon shouted. "Indy?" Zap questioned the nickname "Yeah calling you Indigo was getting boring. Why is that a problem? I can stop if it is." "Of course its not a problem Lemon zest, its just what my mum used to call me when I was little." "Why did she stop? Did you tell her you were to old to be called that anymore?" "No she passed away Lemon." "Oh my god I'm so sorry!" "Its ok. Now did you need something?" "I just wanted to check you were ok. I heard you didn't make the team." "But how did you find out?" I only just found out my self." "Indigo zap the whole school knows." "Great. So hows your day going?" "Not great. I got a detention for humming down the corridor." "Man this school sucks!" " Yeah but it will get better." "It better." When Indigo zap got home, her father asked her how her day went. She just ran into his arms and burst into tears. "Hey whats happened kiddo? Come one now shh shh shh. Calm down and tell me whats happened." "I didn't make the football/soccer team!" She sobbed. "Oh is that all? Why has that got you so upset?" "Because mum would be so disappointed in me!" "Oh Indy of course she wouldn't be. She'd be proud of you no matter what." "Really?" "Really now come on, dry those eyes and we'll have dinner." "So you got a detention for listening to music?" Lemons father asked her. "Yes dad its stupid." "Well just be careful kid." " I will be." So the girls first day of high didn't go the way that they thought. It could of been worse, but it also could have been better.
its supposed to be fun (christmas special)"So lemon what are you hoping to get tomorrow for christmas?" Indigo asked. " New set of headphones" the rocker replied. "Of course thats what you want!" Sour Sweet yelled, she was in one of her moods. Sunny quickly piped up," Sour come on its christmas do you have to be so grumpy?" "Yeah its supposed to be a happy time of the year" Sugarcoat added. This only annoyed Sour more. "No one asked for your opinion Sugarcoat!" She yelled. Christmas was the next day and Sour Sweet wasn't in the festive spirit. After watching the other three argue for another 20 minutes lemon and indigo decided to leave. "Why can't they just be happy for once?" Lemon asked the goggle wearing teen. Indigo's answer was simple," I don't know zest" "We should try to make them see that christmas can be fun!" Lemon exclaimed. "And how do propose we do that?" Indigo asked. "You'll see" Zest replied with. Back at the mall Sour Sweet and Sunny Flare were still arguing. "Look all I'm saying is just because your name is Sour, it doesn't mean you always have to be sour!" Sunny flare yelled. Her and Sour Sweet and been going for about 2 hours now and Sugarcoat had left them do it. "And all I'm saying is you do you and i'll do me!" Sour yelled back. Sugarcoat was on her way home when she saw Indigo and Lemon. "What are you two up to?" she asked Zap because lemon was busy. "She says she's going to make everyone be happy at christmas, I don't know how though" The athlete replied with. " I just want them all to be happy." Lemon said. "Ok Zest but it's your funeral." Sugarcoat told her. Sour Sweet and Sunny flare had finally given up the fight, but now they'd gone the opposite way, instead of screaming and yelling at each other they weren't talking at all. Then the others arrived to put Lemons plan in action. "So" Lemon bagan. "We are going to show you two what a good time christmas is!" "Me!? , but she's the one who kept saying how much she hates it and how it's a waste of time!" Sunny yelled. "Yeah but to be fair Sunny you did start the argument." Indigo commented. "Shut it Zap! Leave the unwanted opinion sharing to sugarcoat!" Sunny yelled back Sugarcoat then stepped in. "Look it's getting late it's cold, Lemon Zest can we please just get on with this so we can all go home?" "Certainly." Lemon answered. Her plan was to show Sour Sweet a christmas film about how a man didn't like christmas so he was taken to his past, present and future. By the end of the Sour's mood hadn't changed. She just stormed off home. "Well that didn't go has planned." Lemon said sadly. Indigo was quick to comfort her friend. " You did your best Zest, not even Equestrian magic could take Sour out of her bad moods." "Wait that's it!" Lemon squealed with excitement. "What's it?" Sunny flare asked. "You'll see come on let's go!" Lemon shouted. The Rainbooms were rehearsing for there schools christmas concert when there was loud knock at the door. "Who could that be?" Rainbow asked. "No idea." Sunset answered Pinkie then answered the door. "Girls we need your help NOW!" Lemon screamed in pinkies face. "Um is everything ok?" Rarity asked. "No it is NOT!" Lemon shouted "What's happened?" Fluttershy asked. The crystal prep girls then explained the days events to the Rainbooms. "So you see this is why we need you to use your magic on Sour so she'll think christmas is fun!" Lemon said "Lemon we can't force Sour Sweet to like christmas" Twilight explained. "So what do we do then?" Indigo asked. "Well we could try showing Sour all the other fun things there are to do at christmas, then maybe she'll find something she really likes to do." Twilight answered. So thats exactly what they all did, they showed Sour Sweet all the different fun things there were at christmas. They showed her the decorations, the lights, the food and even the presents. And Sour actually had fun. "Wow I guess i really under estimated this whole holiday, it was really fun!" Sour shouted with festive spirit for the first time ever! "Told you it was!" Lemon squealed. amputation(Indigos point of view) All I can remember is one minute I was on my motorbike and the next I going out of consciences and people were screaming and there were flashing lights and sirens. There had been an accident on one of the main roads, involving Indigo Zap and a four by four. She had swerved her motorbike to avoid hitting a small child that was crossing the road, fortunately the child was fine and received no injuries , just a little shaken up. Indigo was not so lucky and had her right leg snapped by the vehicle. The last thing she could remember was people screaming and then she blacked out. (Lemons point of view) When I heard about the accident I was straight to the hospital I didn't even tell my friends where I was going or what had happened. I then came across a doctor and decided to ask him where I could find Indigo. "Excuse me I'm looking for my friend do you know where she is" I asked the doctor. " Whats her name"? The doctor asked. "Indigo Zap" I told him. "Oh well I'm sorry but at the moment she can't have any visitors" he told me. "Ok well can you at least tell me how she is?" I asked him "She's still unconscious at the moment, her right leg was severely damaged we think were gonna have to amputate". "Oh ok thank you" I answered sadly. "I knew what amputate meant, and I knew what it would mean for Indigo. It would be at Least a month in a rehab centre but she's strong so I know she'll be ok in the end". (Indigos point of view) I woke up and all I could see was these two figures. My parents. "Whats going on?" I croaked. "Oh sweetie your awake! Were so glad you're ok" my mum said. "What happened?" I asked. "There was an accident. Now we have something to tell you, but you need to stay calm." my dad told me. "What?!" I shouted. "Your leg was so badly damaged that the doctors had no choice but to amputate" my mum told me "You mean its gone?" I asked as I started to choke up "Shh don't cry it will be alright, your a strong kid and you'll be able to get through this , and you'll have lots of support." my mum said in a comforting voice. "I guess so" I said and then went back to sleep. So now I was going to have to adjust to life with only one leg. Learning to adjustAuthor's Note This is a sequel to amputation. Learning to adjust (Indigos point of view) I have to learn to adjust to life with only one leg, I don’t know how I’m going to be able to do that, but with really supportive parents and friends like lemon zest I’m sure I’ll be ok. It had been about a month since Indigos motorbike accident, she had been to rehab and was starting to get used having to use the crutches and only having one leg to balance. She was heading back to the crystal city and she couldn’t wait to see her friends. (Lemons point if view) Indigo was coming home today and I couldn’t wait to see her. Don’t get me wrong the other girls are great but Zaps been my best friend since we were little kids. “Lemon will you calm down she’ll be here soon” Sunny flare told me “I know but I just can’t wait to see it’s been so long” I replied back with “It’s only been a month” Sugarcoat said in her usual deadpan voice “ Yes I know that, but she might of had a hard time with only having the one leg” I told her. Just then a car arrived where the girls were stood talking. Indigo got out the car and was able to use her crutches to make her way over to her friends. I was so excited to see Indigo that I rushed up to her. “Indy!” I shouted “Hey lemon, it’s nice to see again it’s been to quiet without you screaming irritating rock music in my hear” Indigo zap told her best friend. “Love you too Zappie!” I told her “It sure is nice to have you back Indigo” Sunny said “Yeah we missed you, even Sour Sweet. But she won’t admit that” Sugarcoat added “Where is Sour Sweet anyway?” Indigo asked “She had some homework to, she needed to get it done , but you’ll see her later” I told her “Ok” was all Indigo answered. “So how was rehab?” Sugarcoat asked “It was ok, I’m getting used to having to limp everywhere. It doesn’t hurt as much as did at the beginning “ Indigo told her “Will you always have to limp and use the crutches?” I asked “No I have a consultation next week about getting a prosthetic leg, and I’ll only have to use the crutches until I can walk on that properly. It’ll take a lot of physio and a lot of paitence” Indigo told them “Something you don’t have” Sugarcoat said “Either way you’ll be ok with everything right?” I asked “Yeah I’ll be fine Lemon, I’ve just got to get used to waking with a bit of a limp for a while. And then start to learn how to play sports again. Indigo told replied. “Well don’t go excerting your self Zap we care about you and need you to be ok, even if that takes a while” Sunny said “Relax Sunny I’ll be fine it’ll take more than a lost limb to slow me down” Indigo told her. “Well at least your being positive about it” Sugarcoat said. “Yeah at least that’s something” Indigo answered back with. “Well we better be heading home it’s getting late. You coming Indy?” I asked “That’s alright Lemon my parents are coming to get me , but thanks for the offer” Indigo answered “Ok see you tomorrow” I said. (Indigos point of view) I got home after my parents had picked me up, I went straight to my bedroom and just cried into my pillow. That’s all I had done since I got out of the hospital... Just as tough as beforeAuthor's Note This is the last part of amputation, enjoy! Just as tough as before (Indigos point of view) I had been crying every day since I got out of the hospital, at Rehab and at home fortunately I was able to hide it from everyone so no one noticed. I got a text from lemon zest saying that pinkie pie had invited us all to her house for a slumber party a long with the rainbooms. Of course I wanted to go but I was so scared of crying in front of them, what if they don’t think I’m as tough as they thought I was? (No one point of view) The girls all started to arrive at pinkies house, indigo was late because she was trying to calm herself down before she went , but because she was often late for things that didn’t involve competing there wasn’t a lot of suspicion raised about it. “There’s being fashionably late and then there’s taking the piss!” Sour yelled in anger “To be fair sour sweet she is on one leg at the moment, normally she would of used her motorbike” Sunny defended “Well that’s not going to happen for a long time” sugarcoat piped up After waiting for another 15 minutes indigo finally showed up, she had been crying but luckily for her no one noticed. “Sorry I’m late pinkie I just forgot a few things” indigo told the party loving girl “It’s fine zappie but are you ok?” Pinkie asked her “Yeah I’m fine” was the only answer that was given “Well now that everyone is here we can start the fun!” Rainbow exclaimed The girls had ordered pizza and decided to put on a movie. They were about 15 minutes into the film when indigo got the urge to cry again. Not wanting to cry in front of her friends she asked pinkie where the bathroom was. “It’s up the stairs and then on the left!” Pink told her in an excitiable voice “Ok thank you” zap replied It had been about 20 minutes and indigo still hadn’t returned from the bathroom. The girls were starting to get worried. “I think somethings wrong “ twilight said “So do I but what?” Applejack asked “We need to find out” rarity stated, the others all nodding in agreement “Yeah but who’s going to ask?” Sunny asked, an idea then popped into her head.” Sunset can’t you use your magic to find out what’s wrong?” “I could but if something is bothering indigo zap then she needs to tell us herself” susnet answered “Lemon zest you go and talk to her” sour sweet ordered the rock loving teen “Why do I have to do it?” Lemon asked “Your her best friend, she’s less likely to punch you” sour told her. Even though lemon didn’t like that answer it made sense. Lemon then made her way up to the bathroom, the door wasn’t locked so she able to just walk in. When she entered the bathroom she saw indigo sat in the toilet , she looked a mess, her eyes were red she had obviously been crying. Lemon then knelt down to her friends level and started Talking to her. “Indy what’s wrong?” She asked in her most comforting voice. At first indigo zap didn’t reply and just sat there in silent, after about 5 more minutes she broke down in tears again. Lemon was able to grab hold of her as she went to punch the mirror in pinkies bathroom. “Shh shh what’s wrong?” Lemon asked her friend as she just kept shushing her and rubbing her back. After a further 5 minutes indigo finally calmed down and was able to tell lemon zest what was going on. “I just feel like nothing is going to be the same again, I’m never going to be able to play sports or do any of the other things I love to do!” Indy screamed and started to bawl again. This time lemon didn’t say anything and just started to rock her friend in hopes of calming her down. Eventually it worked. “Indy listen to me, you will still be able to all those things” she told her “Yeah but what if the others don’t think I’m as tough as they all thought?” “ what if they think I’m being a baby?!” Indigo asked her “They won’t think that, come with me and you’ll see” lemon said gently dragging her back downstairs to the living room where the others were waiting. Indigo told them all about the way she was feeling and after she’d finished rainbow dash came up and gave her a hug. “Listen zap your one of the toughest people I know , there no way a missing leg will change that. In fact I think it makes you even tougher that you were before” rainbow told her “You all think this?” Indigo turned her attention to the rest of the girls. “Hmm hmm” they said in unison (Six weeks later) Indigo zap was now using the prosthetic leg that the doctor had given her and with the plenty of physio thearapy and lots encouragement and support from her friends she was able to get back to old self.
Going deaf?Sugarcoat: lemon , lemon, LEMON ZEST! Lemon: what!? Sugarcoat I’ve asked about 8 times what drink do you want? Lemon: oh sorry I’ll have a strawberry milkshake Sour: you going deaf or something zest? Indigo: probably seeing as how she never takes off her headphones Lemon: I do take them off thank you zap Sunny: when you’re asleep doesn’t count Lemon zest always wore her headphones. She wore them all day and would wear them all night if her parents allowed her to do so. This had actually resulted in a lot of detentions at school be zest wouldn’t pay attention in class but the problem was about get a lot worse. Miss harshwinnie: so class who can tell me the square root of 81? Nobody raises their hand Miss harshwinnie: lemon zest can you tell me the answer? Lemon doesn’t answer Indigo: she won’t answer you because she can’t hear you Miss harshwinnie: why can’t she hear me? Sugarcoat: because she never takes off her headphones Miss harshwinnie: right well can someone else answer the question? Otherwise we’ll be here all day Sunny: the answer is 9 Miss harshwinnie: yes thank you sunny flare The girls were now sat in the common room during the lunch hour when the fire alarm went off, this was just a drill but no one actually knew that. Due to her recent struggle to hear anything lemon zest had not heard the fire alarm go off and indigo and sunny had physically had to drag lemon outside because she couldn’t here all the screaming of her name. Finally after a quick registration to make sure everyone was safe the kids were allowed back into the school. Indigo: lemon you really need to get this sorted it’s becoming a safety issue Lemon: I know I just don’t know what to do Sour: you could start by taking off your stupid headphones for once! Sunny: sour I really don’t think yelling at her is going to help, and I think it’s going to take more than just removing the headphones Lemon: what do you mean? Sunny: I think your gonna have to have your parents take you to the doctor to get hearing tested Lemon: if you think that’s what’s best? The other four girls nodded in union So lemon was taken to the doctor by her parents , the doctor confirmed that lemon was not going deaf but constantly wearing the headphones with loud rock music blasting through them was affecting her hearing so she needed to cut down on how much she used them. A whole week has gone by since lemons appointment with the doctor and although it was a struggle at first with limited time with the headphones she was getting used to it, and her hearing was getting back to normal. Only issue now was she wouldn’t stop talking. Sour: I think I preferred it when she was deaf Indigo: why do you say that sour? Sour: because at least when she couldn’t hear us and was in her own little world she was quiet! Sunny: well I like her like this , at least now we know she’s paying attention in class her grades have never been better Sugarcoat: that’s true Indigo: amen to that Sour: I suppose so Lemon: what you guys talking about? All: NOTHING! So lemon stopped wearing her headphones all the time and things got a lot easier for the group of friends. Author's Note It’s been a while since I updated this story so I am happy to take any constructive criticism but please nothing mean. Ear infectionAuthor's Note I decided that i wanted to change the age for some of these chapters so indigo is only 3 years old in this chapter. Thunder: indigo‘s father Lightning: indigo’s mother Ear infection Indigo: mummy! Lightning: ugh what time is it? Thunder: it’s about 2:00 am why? Lightning: because indy’s screaming I don’t know why Indigo: MUMMY! Lightning: I’m going to go and see what the problem is Thunder: ok what you say Indigo had woken up with an awful pain in her right ear and had been screaming for her mum for about an hour. Lightning had finally woken up from the screaming and gone into to indigo’s room to see what she was crying about. When she walks into her daughters room, indigo’s face was stained with tears and she looked rather flushed. Indigo finally saw her mum coming into the room. Indigo: mummy! (hiccup) Lightning: oh baby whats the matter? Indigo: (crying) I don’t feel very well! Indigo’s mum felt her forehead Lightning: you feel very hot, is anything in particular hurting? Indigo: (wails) my ear! Lightning: ok, ok shh let me have a look. She looked at indigo’s ear and it looked very red and sore. Lightning: oh baby I think your ear might be infected Indigo: make it go away! Lightning: Oh I can’t right now darling, I’ll get you some calpol and you can come and sleep with me and daddy for the rest of night, and I’ll call the doctors as soon as it opens. She got indigo the calpol and took her back into her and her husbands bedroom. Thunder: you’ve been a while, is everything ok? Lightning I think she might have an ear infection, I’m going to call the doctor first thing tomorrow Thunder: ok but right now let’s all try and get some sleep. They all fell asleep in the big bed for the rest of the night. When indigo woke up her ear was hurting twice as much as it was the night before, when she woke up her parents were not by her side as they had already woken up, and her mum had already called the doctor. Indigo: mummy! (Hiccup) Lightning: it sounds like she’s up Thunder: she wants you, you go up and get her I’ll finish making breakfast Lightning: ok but I can’t see indy wanting anything: Indigo was heavily sobbing when her mum walked into her room Lightning: hey what’s the matter? Indigo: (crying) you left me! Lightning: I was just downstairs with daddy baby, he’s making breakfast do you want anything to eat? Indigo: shakes head Lightning: ok baby lets go downstairs and I’ll check your temperature again. They went downstairs and and lightning checked indigo’s temperature again , and it had risen about 2 degrees. Thunder: how is she? Lightning: her temperature seems to have risen Thunder: ok what time is her appointment? Lightning: 10:30 Thunder: ok (At the doctors office) lightning had driven herself and indigo to the doctor’s and it hadn’t been a pretty journey. Indigo was in a lot of pain with her ear and her fever seemed be getting higher despite the fact her mum had given her more calpol. They were sitting in the waiting area at the doctors indigo had fallen asleep in her mums arms. They had been waiting for 20 minutes when they were finally called in to see the doctor. Doctor brown: so what seems to be the problem here? Lightning: my daughters ear is really red and sore and her temperature seems to be sky high, I think she might have an ear infection. Doctor brown: (turned to indigo) ok can I have a look sweetie? He went to touch indigo’s ear Indigo: N-no! Lightning: hey shh calm down the doctor just wants to look at your ear so he can make it better. Indigo: but it hurts! Lightning: I know it does but it won’t get better if the doctor doesn’t look at it. Indigo: ok. Doctor brown: ok so it looks like indigo’s ear is infected, i suggest plenty of rest and calpol to keep her temperature down and I’ll prescribe her some antibiotics for the infection, I’m guessing you want it in a liquid form? Lightning: yes please Doctor brown: ok I’ll be right back. He went out back to fetch the medicine. Doctor brown: here you go just give it to 3 times a day for the next 4 days and she should be right as rain in no time. Lightning: ok thank you Lightning had given indigo the medicine in the car and indigo had fallen asleep in the car. When they got back to the house she was beginning to stir and eventually woke up, her mum carried her into the house and put her on the couch then covered her with the blanket that they had thrown over the couch. Indigo realised that her ear was still really hurting and she started to sob. Lightning: hey what’s wrong? Indigo: my ear is still h-hurting! Lightning: oh baby it’ll take a few minutes for the medicine to work Indigo: but I want the hurt to go away NOW! Lightning: shh shh I know you do, why don’t we have a cuddle on the sofa and watch Mickey Mouse? Indigo: o-ok (she wiped her eyes) Thunder: does anyone want anything to eat? Lightning: no thank you love , are you off to work? Thunder: yeah I’ll not be home late tonight Lightning: ok: Lightning had indigo in her arms has she was rocking and shushing her daughter as she kept crying that her ear was hurting. Lightning: shhh shhh come on baby I know it hurts but try to get some sleep you might feel better once you do. Eventually after a lot of soothing talk and rocking indigo finally fell asleep in her mums arms, when she woke up she was a little groggy but her ear wasn’t hurting as bad anymore. Lightning: hey sweetie you feeling a little better? Indigo: yeah can I have a drink please? Lightning: yeah I’ll get you one and your due for some more medicine. She fetched indigo her drink and medicine. When thunder entered the house from his shift at work. Thunder: hey Lightning: hey how was work? Thunder: same as usual, hows Indy? Lightning: she seems better than she was a few hours ago Thunder: that’s good I’ll go and see her Lightning: ok would you take this into her( the drink and medicine) Thunder: yeah ok. After about 4 days indigo’s ear infection started to heal up and she was feeling a lot better. She was starting to her energy and her appetite back and was back being the wild child she usually was.
The back of the busThe friendship games had just ended in a tie and lets just say principle cinch was pissed. CPA had a Reputation in that they are expected to win every competition they participate in , so when principle Celestia declared both schools winners she was not happy about it. Sour sweet: well another games done, don’t think cinch is too happy about the end results though. Lemon zest: yeah tell me about it, but at least now we have 7 new friends and no one got hurt. Sugar coat: you seem to be forgetting what happened back there zest. Lemon zest: well i mean apart from the whole midnight sparkle deal.The crystal prep students were piling back onto the bus and indigo zap had gone up to her usual seat at the front, there was a reason as to why she sat at the front every time they went on field trips, it wasn’t because she liked to yell in everyone’s faces like people think, although she did enjoy that part. It was because she had really bad travel sickness any bump they went over and corner they turned would make her stomach flip. As she approached her usual seat she was blocked by an angry looking principle cinch. Principle cinch: what do you think your doing miss zap? Indigo zap: uhh taking a seat? Principle cinch: not there you’re not, only winners sit at the front go sit at the back with the rest of the students that have let the schools reputation down. Indigo zap: (nervously whimper) b-but. Principle cinch: just do it.So indigo went to the back of bus and sat with her now friends, they had always gotten along but they never classed each other has actual friends until now, it seemed everything that had happened had put things into perspective for the 5 girls. They were about 20 minutes into the hour long bus journey home things were actually alright to start with, but then they had to down a really bumpy lane which indigo had completely forgotten about. As the bus juddered over the bumps and pot wholes zap could feel her stomach twisted and she had started to sweat. Sunny flare: are you alright indigo? Indigo zap: ( quietly) yeah sunny I’m fine. No one knew about zaps travel sickness other than her parents she had been given medication but she didn’t ever take it. Besides she usually has the front of the bus so she didn’t need to. Sunny flare: are you sure? Because you don’t look to good. She reached up to feel indigo’s forehead there was a little heat but nothing drastic and it was pretty warm on the bus. Indigo zap: I promise I’m fi- Indigo didn’t have chance to finish her sentence when the bus took a sharp turn around the bend, all of a sudden her stomach jolted and she threw up all over herself and the floor in front of her. This got the attention of the students most of the laughed whilst the rest of the shadow 5 went up to where indigo and sunny were sat.Sour sweet: what happened? Sunny flare: I’m not sure. She just rubbed indigo’s back has she continued to vomit she was starting to shake and tear up a little bit now probably from the shock. Dean Cadance: is everything alright back hear girls? Lemon zest: I don’t think indies feeling too well dean cadence. Sugar coat: (Sarcastically) great observation lemon. Lemon zest: is now really the appropriate time for your sarcasm sugarcoat? Sunny flare: will you both shut up? She just keeps throwing up I don’t know what the problem is. Dean cadence: ok let me sit there for a minute. Sunny moved out the way so dean cadence could sit in her seat indigo zap still throwing up but at least now it was in a bucket that sour sweet had given to her. Dean cadence: indigo look at me for a minute. Zap lifted her head from the bucket to look at the dean her eyes were now swollen from crying and and the heat in her head had risen. Cadence felt indigo’s forehead in the same way that sunny flare had done previously, there were signs of a mild temperature but nothing to concerning. Dean cadence: you feeling alright? Indigo zap: n-no. And with that she threw up again. Dean cadence: is anything hurting indigo? Indigo zap: my head a little bit but not that much. She had finally stopped puking as she probably nothing left in her system, however she was still shaking and crying slightly. Dean cadence: do you think this could be travel sickness? Indigo zap: *sigh* yeah I do get it quite badly that’s why I usually sit at the front of the bus, but cinch wouldn’t let me she said only winners sit at the front. Dean cadence: ok well we’re nearly back at CPA there is still a bit of time left in the school day, but I’ll call your parents and get them to come and pick you up early ok? Indigo zap: ok thank you dean cadence. Dean cadence: no problem.Indigo zap had been picked up by her mother who was not happy about principle cinch’s treatment towards her daughter. Yeah sure cinch didn’t know about indigo’s travel sickness as nobody did, but apparently she just sat at the front of the bus completely ignoring what was going on at the back. Indigo was sat on the sofa with one of the blankets that was already on there watching a film, she had changed into her pyjamas when her mother walked into the room, she had just gotten off the phone with cadence saying to not send indigo to school for the next couple of days. Her mother sat down next to indigo and started to run her hand through her hair. She could see that her daughter was exhausted from the events on the coach and thought she could do with a rest. Lightning: why don’t you try and get some sleep? You look tired. She continued to stroke her daughter’s hair. Indigo zap: yeah I think I might I just can’t seem to stop shivering. Lightning: that’ll be from the shock. She had already taken indigo’s temperature and although it was slightly higher than usual it wasn’t at fever level so that was something at least. Lightning: you’ll feel better once you’ve had a sleep. Indigo zap: ok. Her mother stood up and pulled the covers further up and then kissed indigo’s forehead, as she left the room she turned the tv off and the lights down. After a few hours of sleep indigo was feeling much better. Author's Note Another chapter about illness I know. Oh well enjoy!
EpilepsyNo one other than lemon zest and sugarcoat knew about indigo zaps epilepsy as she had always kept it a secret, because she didn’t want people to look at her in a different way or for it to get in the way of her sports, but that was all about to change. The shadow 5 were hanging out outside crystal prep when their phones all beeped. It was the group chat that they shared with the rain booms. (On tex) twilight: do you girls want to come over to sunsets this afternoon? She’s got the new Tirek video game and wants to have a tournament for her gaming channel. Lemon zest: they want us to go to sunsets to play the new Tirek game, you girls in? Indigo zap: I am! Sour sweet: me too! Sunny flare: sure why not? Sugarcoat: got nothing better to do. The girls went over to sunsets apartment where she and the other rainbooms were already set up for the tournament. Sunset: hey girls you came?! Sugarcoat: of course we came why wouldn’t we? Sunset: I just thought that you would have something better to do. Indigo zap: hey we might be a much friendlier and calmer group, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to whoop your ass at any chance that I get! Sugarcoat: ( sarcastically) so beautifully put zap. Twilight: so any way I’ve already set up the teams. (The teams) Twilight x sunset Applejack x sugarcoat Pinkie x lemon Rainbow x indigo Rarity x sunny Fluttershy x sour sweet All sans twilight: yeah that’s fine! The tournament was going great all teams had been eliminated apart from twilight and sunset and rainbow and indigo, this didn’t surprise anyone, twilight was really good at strategies and the other 3 just hated losing and played video games on a daily basis. This was the first time that dash and indie had played with each other instead of against. It was well until they reached the boss level which had a lot of flashing lights. Rainbow dash: ha! There’s no way you too are going to beat us at the boss level, I’ve played more of these that twilight has read books! And I’m sure indie is the same, right zap? Indigo didn’t answer straight away so rainbow tried again. Rainbow dash: earth to indigo did you hear what i said? Indigo zap: uh? Yeah sorry Rainbow, I just zoned out for a minute. Applejack: you’ve been rubbing your temple for a while now, is everything alright? Indigo zap: yeah I’m fine let’s just get back to the game. The girls carried on playing with the rest of their friends cheering, well screaming in pinkies case. The flashing lights seemed to be getting worse, rainbow noticed that the other avatar on her side of the screen had stopped moving. Rainbow dash: zap you do realise that you actually need to move the joystick right? Indigo didn’t hear rainbow call to her nor did she hear any of the others when they tried her, the lights were making her feel sick and she could feel that a seizure was going to happen and then her secret would be revealed. Rainbow dash: indie? Just has rainbow said that indigo’s eyes rolled to the back of her head as she fell off of the seat she was sitting on. Fluttershy: maybe the game was getting to much for her? That’s when indigo started to convulse. Rarity: girls look! Pinkie pie: oh my goodness should we call an ambulance or something?! Sunny flare: yeah I think we ought to this isn’t normal! Sour sweet: I’ll do it! Sugarcoat and lemon zest: no wait! We don’t need an ambulance. Twilight: what?! Of course we do! Lemon zest: (sigh) indigo has epilepsy, it’s normal for her to have seizures every now and then. The flashing lights must of coursed this one. Sunset: so what do we do? Sugarcoat: just put her on her side and place a pillow under her head, fetch her a glass of water . She’ll be tired when it’s over we’ll take her to the doctor in the morning if she still isn’t feeling well. The girls did what sugarcoat had told them it had been about 5 minutes and the fit was just starting to slow down. Applejack: how long does this usually last for? Lemon zest: not long. Usually 5 or 10 minutes give or take. Sunny flare: I do have a question, how come you and sugarcoat seemed to know about this and we Didn’t? Sugarcoat: indigo’s first seizure was about 6 months ago it was at game practice I think it was caused by stress. * flashback* Coach: alright team you are now dismissed from practise, and zap? Indigo zap: yes coach? Coach: I need you hear tomorrow at 6 to go over the regime again ok? Indigo zap: yes coach. This has been indigo’s life for the past month this was her first time being crystal preps captain and the pressure was starting to get to her. ( in the changing rooms) sugarcoat: wow that was an intense training session. Didn’t you think so zap? Uh indigo? Thats when indigo then fainted and started to shake. This made sugarcoat panic. Sugarcoat: indigo! Don’t worry I’ll go and get someone! After sugarcoat has called for help from the teachers an ambulance was called and the seizure had stopped. Sugarcoat was stroking indigo’s hair as she had now sat back up. Indigo zap: *whimmpers* what happened? She had tears in her eyes. Sugarcoat: shh it’s ok I think you just had a seizure, how are you feeling? Indigo zap: sick. Sugarcoat: ok well the ambulance is here and the paramedics are going to want to talk to you ok? Indigo zap: ok. After she was taken to hospital the doctors said that the seizure was stress related and let her go home. * Back to the present day* Sunset: ok so that was a stress induced seizure how did she end up with epilepsy? Lemon zest: I guess it’s my turn to tell you my story. * flashback* Lemon zest: hey indie you wanna come over after school? Indigo zap: sure why not? The girls went over to lemons to hang out, they were just talking when again indigo fainted and started to convulse. After about 20 minutes she woke up and realised that she wasn’t in lemons room anymore. Indigo zap: what happened? Where am I? Nurse: your in the in hospital sweetheart. You had a seizure, how are you feeling? Indigo zap: sick and tired. Where’s lemon zest? Nurse: your friend just went get a drink, she’s back now. Lemon zest: indie! I’m so glad your alright! Indigo zap: yeah lemon I’m fine. Nurse: indigo have you had any kid of seizures before this one? Indigo zap: yeah I had one about 4 months ago. Lemon zest: what when? Indigo zap: it was after practice, sugarcoat was there, they think it was stress related and tiredness. But i didn’t feel stressed or tired before this one. Nurse: ok I’ll be back in a minute. * back to the present * Sugarcoat: about a month after the second seizure she was diagnosed with epilepsy. Sour sweet: ok how come she told she told you two and not the rest of us? I mean I know you and lemon have always been closest to her, but even so. Lemon zest: sour, indie didn’t choose to tell us, the only reason we knew was because the seizures happened in front of us. Sugarcoat: yeah she made us swear not to tell anyone because she didn’t want people to look at her in a different way, or treat her any differently. Fluttershy: has she ever had any other seizures other than those 2 and the one tonight? Sugarcoat: probably but we’ve not seen them. That’s when twilight and rainbow came back in from the spare bedroom. Applejack: how is she? Twilight: sleeping. You sure she’ll definitely be ok in the morning? Lemon zest: yeah positive. She might be a little tired and groggy , but after a full days rest she’ll be perfectly fine. Sunset: ok I still feel kinda bad though, it was the game that caused it. Sugarcoat: sunset , flashing lights are a common cause of seizures in epileptics, it could of happened at any moment. The important thing is that she gets some sleep. And so should the rest of us for that matter, I think it’s time we head home. Sunset: why don’t you all stay here tonight? We can take indigo to the doctor in the morning then? The girls agreed and they all stayed at sunsets. The following morning after the had taken indigo to the doctor who just told her to take it easy and rest for a few days, things got back to normal.
Appendicitis"Indigo wake up its time for school!" her father shouted. "Ugh why!?" was all the teenager groaned in response. "Because its important. Now get your backside down here!" Indigo Zap made her way down the stairs , but as she got to the bottom she started to feel a little dizzy. "Whats for breakfast mum?" she asked her mother. "Pancakes" her mum began , but then looked at her daughter with a little worry. "Are you okay honey? You look a little pale". "Actually mum I do feel a little bit dizzy". Lightning gently put the palm of her hand against indigos forehead. "You do feel a little warm, maybe I should call the school". "What!? No!" thunder yelled. ''I had a phone call from principal cadence last week stating that she's already behind with her school work." "Ok, but if you feel any worse later sweetheart get the school to call me and I'll come and pick you up ok?" "Ok thanks mum bye!" "Bye sweetie." As the day past bye indigos dizziness wore off but she was starting to develop a sharp stabbing pain in the bottom right side of her stomach. "Are you ok zap?" lemon zest asked her friend."You've hardly touched your cheese and ham sandwich." "Yeah and you do look rather pale." Sugarcoat added in. "I'm fine guys, don't worry about me. Come on were going to be late for maths. They were about 20 minutes into the maths lesson and the pain in indigos stomach had increased. The teacher noticed this and approached the girl. "Are you ok indigo?" "I don't feel very well miss." "lemon zest can you take her to the nurse?" "Of course miss. Come on indy." On the way to the nurses office indigo had started to shake and sweat a lot. "Knock knock" "Come in !" the nurse called. "Lemon zest , Indigo zap! What can i do for the two of you?" "Indigos not feeling very well nurse nancy." Lemon answered with great concern in her voice. "Sit on the examination table and I'll take a look at you." Nurse Nancy instructed indigo zap. Nurse Nancy got the thermometer and placed it in indigos ear. It read "42 degrees celsius" "Well you defiantly have a fever. I'll call your mother to come and pick you up." "Ok thank you." As nurse nancy was heading towards the door to call indigos mum, indigo felt and intense pain shoot through her stomach again. "Aah!" indigo screamed in agony. "Indy are you okay!?" lemon screamed with worry. "No" indigo whimpered. Nurse nancy then rushed back over to them. She grabbed a bucket and held it under indigos chin just in time for her to throw up. "Where does it hurt darling?" "My stomach on the right side at the bottom!" "What are we going to do nurse?" lemon questioned. "I think we might have to call an ambulance, I think she has appendicitis." "999 whats your emergency?" " I have a student here with a high fever and possible appendicitis" "Students name?" "Indigo zap" "And the name of the school?" "Crystal prep academy" "Ok an ambulance will be with you shortly" "Thank you." Whilst nurse nancy was calling the ambulance lemon zest was doing her best to comfort her sick friend. She had indigo zaps head in her lap and was stroking her hair in a attempt to soothe her. "It h-hurts!" indigo cried. "Shhh, I know it does indy , but you'll be better soon I promise." Lemon gently cooed as the doors opened to reveal nurse with two paramedics with a stretcher. They got indigo zap into the ambulance and placed an IV drip with morphine into her hand to try and ease the pain in her stomach a little bit. They then started to ask her a series of questions. "Name?" "Indigo zap" "Date of birth?" "18/12/2002" "Adress?" "15 Rocky Road , Crystal City" "Ok and who do you do live with?" "My mum and dad" "And they are?" "Lighting zap and thunder zap" "Ok thats all" Indigo lost consciousness shortly after that Within minutes of arriving at the hospital zap was being rushed into the operating room. The doctor had confirmed it was appendicitis and a bad case of it at that. They needed to remove it as soon as possible. "What happened!? Is she ok!?" Lightning frantically asked the doctor. "Her appendix was about to burst but we managed to remove it just time. She should be waking in about half an hour" "Ok thank you" "This is all your fault thunder!" "And how did you work that one out?" " She said she wasn't feeling well this morning and you made her go to school!" " Lightning all teenagers try to skive school especially when they have a test. How was I supposed to know she was genuinely ill?" They continued to argue until the nurse came to speak to them."Mr and Mrs zap your daughter has come round from the operation." Indigos woke up feeling a little groggy and her vision was blurry. When her vision finally became clear she saw lightning standing there with worry plastered all over her face. "Mum?" She questioned the women standing in front of her. "Yes baby I'm here" lightning answered her daughter as she removed the hair out of her eyes. "Wheres dad?" indigo asked her mum. "He's gone to get some drinks sweetheart." "Oh ok" "Is something wrong darling?" lightning was worried again. "Its just I thought he didn't believe me." Indigo answered her mother with tears in her ears. " Oh baby of course he believed you , and he would never have made you go to school if he had known how poorly you were. "Promise?" "I promise. Now get some sleep." Lightning instructed as she bent down and kissed indigos forehead. Within moments indigo was fast asleep. Lightning and Thunder then went back outside to speak to the doctor. "Ok so she'll need to stay of school for two weeks and stay away from any physical activities for two weeks also" the doctor explained. "She's not going to like that. Sport are her life" thunder said." "I know" the doctor responded. " But don't worry she'll be back to her self in no time." And within 4 short weeks indigo was back to her old energetic and cocky self. The curseLemons POV It was a dark and lemon zest was with her sister orange zest and they were running through the storm. "Its a strong storm sis" orange said "Sure is" lemon replied as soon as they came to a sign orange said "That they should go down here" i thought to myself no its to dangerous but she started running "WAIT!" i shouted then i heard something "run" i shouted but it was to late and the ground underneath collapsed. It took me a while to wake from being unconscious then i heard orange scream i ran to to her then i saw something no one should ever have to see it was a dracchangling which i had heard was a dragon changling and that they ate humans "orange"! I shouted but then it turned to me "shit" and then i ran i kept running until i found my self tripping up and falling down a small hole. After i had realised what had happened a group of dracchanglings came towards me i stuttered backwards and then cut my self on a rock a bolt of lightning struck me and then i turned into a drachangling as soon as i started running to wards them they backed down it took me a while to turn human again and i was terrified but i knew with this power i had to go avenge my sisters death i decided to go to the hive and thats were i went but as soon as i got to the hive loads of dracchangling came buzzing towards i bit my hand and turned into a dracchangling and i killed a bunch of them. As soon as i had came to the kings room i saw the same one who killed orange we started fighting and he pushed me out of my transformation "aw poor you now die" he said and as soon as he started putting his hand over my head i punched him in his and and i shouted "GET AWAY FROM ME RAT BASTED I'LL KILL YOU WHERE YOU STAND!!" as soon as i had finished shouting a bunch of dracchanglings started eating him then i ran and went outside and it started to rain i did it sis i got vengeance for you i thought happily in my head. TonsilitisWhen Indigo woke up she noticed that she was sweating, despite the fact that it was only 9 degrees. She also had a really sore throat and didn't know what it was, so she went downstairs to her parents. "So you got work this morning dear?" Lightning asked her husband. "Yeah just got until lunch time." her husband Thunder replied. "By the way have you seen Indigo? She's going to be late for school. Again." Just then Indigo came downstairs sweating and coughing like mad. "Sweetheart are you ok?" her mother asked. "No I'm sweating, but I feel cold and my throat really hurts" Lightning put her hand up to Indigos forehead and cheek. She looked at her daughter with concern in her eyes. "Hmm it seems you have a fever. Back to bed for you and i will bring you some juice and a hot water bottle." "Could you call the school and tell them she won't be in today?" she asked Thunder. "Yeah sure. You gonna be ok with her?" "Of course I will. You go to work." When Lighting went into Indigos room she was back under her blankets shivering despite her temperature being sky high. "Oh honey I know. Hears some nice cold juice and a hot water bottle just like I promised." "Thanks mum." The sick teen croaked out. "No problem love now get some sleep,I'll be downstairs if you need anything." And with that she left the room and turned the lights back off. Indigo slept for the rest of the day and the whole night. She didn't even wake up for food and this worried her parents. The next morning when Indigo woke up her throat hurt even more than it did the day before. She went downstairs to find her parents who were sat having the morning coffee. "Hey honey. You feeling any better this morning?" Her father asked. "No" she croaked and it sounded really painful. Lighting just looked really worried. "Oh dear you sound worse than yesterday." She then put her hand back to Indigos forehead. "Your burning up I'm taking you to the doctors." The doctor confirmed that Indigo had tonsillitis and she needed plenty of rest and fluids and she should be fine in a few days. "So how is she?" Thunder asked his wife on the phone. Lightning explained everything and then drove back home. By the time they'd gotten home Indigo had fallen asleep in the car. Lightning didn't want to wake her up so she asks thunder to come and help her get Indigo inside. Once they'd got inside Thunder put Indigo in her bed and covered her with the blankets and left her to get the rest she desperately needed. Author's Note I know its not good. I had tonsillitis over the weekend so I thought it would be a good idea.
