//-------------------------------------------------------// Another Way -by CrimsonCow- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Alternate //-------------------------------------------------------// Alternate Twilight flipped through about a dozen books, all at once. She stared at the disorienting, useless page. What was Twilight going to say when she was telling the Princesses that she’d lost their magic..? No, she didn’t have time to think like that. Nopony did. If it was up to her, she would not have became a princess if she knew this would’ve happened. Flipping into another book, Twilight thought back to the time when Trixie had taken over Ponyville. What made the Alicorn Amulet work, and what factors gave it the ability to corrupt ponies so easily. Twilight would have to look it up. Not later, but now. Thinking back to a slightly later time, Twilight remembered when she had mixed her friends’ cutie marks up, becoming an Alicorn. How did Celestia turn her into an Alicorn..? Was it some sort of gene-modifying spell, or was it simply her destiny..? She’d have to test it on somepony later. Looking back at her desk, Twilight saw the merch she’d bought a few weeks ago. It was a necklace, with her Cutie mark on it. Twilight never really liked the attention that came with being an Alicorn, as it seemed to make her look like she thought she was special. She did, however, like the responsibilities that came with it. Twilight always liked taking on new challenges, especially ones that most ponies disliked. While taking notes, Twilight took the spell she used to mimic the spells of others into account. It was neither dark or light magic, it was Omni-Magic. While Omni-Magic didn’t have many spells written for it (due to it being really hard to write) , it made up for it by being compatible with literally any type of magic. Twilight scribbled down the spell, trotting outside. She had telephoned her treehouse into the Everfree Forest, so as to not want to get caught. Since Twilight didn’t want to be tracked, she had put up a hastily made magical-defense system around it. Twilight then closed the door behind her, flexing her wings into a flying position. When she flapped them, she immediately shot upwards. Twilight had to lean heavily to one side just to change directions. She would’ve asked Rainbow Dash for help, but she knew she couldn’t. All three princesses had warned her directly not to do that. Speaking of Princesses, how was Twilight going to get them out of Tartarus..? She didn’t even know where in Tartarus they were being held..! Sighing, Twilight rolled her eyes as she felt the breeze blow at her mane and tail. Finally, she had found what she was looking for. A red-skinned cenutar stood in the middle of a burnt field, with his back arched away from her..Twilight’s heart skipped a beat when she realized that he was looking directly at her. Twilight dived at him, charging up her horn to attempt to cast her newly-written spell. Tirek jumped at her, claws outstretched. Twilight, not expecting this. She flinched, darting to the side and clonking her head on a tree branch. Twilight blinked, her surroundings blurry. Her dazed vision cleared up, just as Tirek was about to drain her of her magic. In a blinding flash, Twilight teleported away. She unleashed a crackling beam of fire from her horn, aiming it at Tirek. Tirek attempted to dodge, but his horn was struck by the projectile. Tirek screamed, unleashing a current of shockwaves riveting towards Twilight. Twilight swooped over the first one, and dived under the second one. However, she flew right into the third wave. Twilight was chucked, all the way into a mountain. Just before she slammed into the pile of terra, Twilight errected a shield, protecting her backside. Tirek hurled himself at her, mouth opening. Twilight lept forward, amplifying her magic so that it was ten times more powerful. It took all of Twilight’s energy just to cling onto the spell. Nevertheless, she propelled herself forward, pulling back her fist. Before Tirek could retaliate, she swung it forward. Blood sprang into the air, and Twilight was grateful she had Earth-Pony strength. Raising her hoof, a vine erupted from the ground. It wrapped itself around Tirek. Twilight thought, putting together a spell in her mind. She then focused on Tirek’s magic, pulling at it gently. It resisted slightly, before giving in. Twilight formed it into a ball, before shooting it with a beam. The energy pulsed, before shooting outwards. All across Equestria, ponies retrieved their magic. But, Twilight wasn’t finished. Flying over to the Tree of Harmony, Twilight pulled the chest free of it’s stand. Flapping her wings, she flew into the clearing that she had relocated her library. Twilight set the chest down, amplifying her magic once more. Twilight, struggling to keep hold of the spell, shot a firey ray of energy towards the chest. Seeing as how it didn’t work, Twilight amplified the spell. The chest glowed, and Twilight’s sweat matted body collapsed to the ground. A few seconds later, the chest sunk deep into the ground. A castle shot outwards, and Twilight gasped. Sighing, she flew back into the field. Ponies had gathered around Tirek, who was now in his smaller form. He growled, his ear twitching. He looked up, and saw Twilight. He lunged for a pony desperately, attempting to steal their magic. He was stopped, however, when Twiligjt had stunned him with a quick flash. Everything was going to be just fine. “And now, I would like to thank Twilight Sparkle for saving Equestria, as well as hiring a search party to look for us.” Celestia leaned in close, whispering into Twilight’s ear. “Would you like to do the honors..?” She asked, smiling. “Of course..!” Twilight replied, hopping up and down excitedly. Focusing inwards, Twilight thought of keeping some magic for herself. She did know how to duplicate magic, after all, so the Princesses wouldn’t lose anything from it. Twilight split her magic in half, one half for the Princesses, one half for her. Twilight took the Princesses half, doubling it. That way, they’d have the same amount of magic as when they gave it to her. Twilight then filtered the magic into the other Princesses, while pushing the other half into her own magical reserves. Sweating profusely when she was done, Twilight sighed. “It is done, Princess..” Shw said, smiling sheepishly. Celestia smiles back. “Alright..! From here on out, I dub Twilight Sparkle as the Princess of Magic..!” Celestia said, waving towards the crowd. Celestia leaned in again, smiling. “Now that that’s over we could go eat some cake. I’ve got some ones that taste really good..!” Twilight looked at Celestia, then nodded. As she was walking off the stage she heard somepony shout out. Button Mash, was was his name..? “Oh no...” Twilight muttered and Cadence looked at her. “What is it, Twilight..?” “Mum, look, I’m an Alicorn now..!” “That.”
