The Second Chance

It has been over ten years since my Mom and Dad got a divorce. Over seven years since Mom married Juel and over three years since Dad married Colleen. It has been six years since my little sister on my Mom’s side has been born, her name, Mercedes. It has been 2 years since my little brother Luke was born and thirteen months since Lilyann was born.

They are both on my Dad’s side of the family. It has been about five months since my brother had to return to college. 3 years since I have discovered My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

I am a 15 year old Caucasian male whose name is Danny. Danny Thorn to be exact. I am wearing a red T-Shirt with Deadpool and the words ‘MAXIMUM EFFORT’ at the top. I have blue jean pants on that are missing a few patches here and there. I currently have a pair of shades on and a baseball cap with the Flash symbol on it.

I don't even know the brand of my shoes since the logo had faded away long ago. Right now I'm pushing a lawn mower while listening to a MLP parody of the Imagine Dragons song ‘Demons' but the parody is called

. Really I'm lucky enough to have a phone at all.

My Dad is a fucking cheapskate when it doesn't involve himself. He has the ‘On Demand’ Xfinity package as well as a Netflix account. And both have passcodes that I don't know. He is very harsh when it comes to punishments and when he doesn't get his way, he makes it his way. I can't count the amount of times he has made Colleen cry from him yelling at her.

I feel bad for anyone that has to put up with him. I remember one time that he hit a door so hard it made a hole. He's quite the tall man but he has let himself go. 6 feet and 4 inches. Over 240 pounds. I sure that at one point he had a six pack but now it's just… gut.

He was in the navy but never saw much action. He mostly went into the army, just for the benefits in the long run. Now he climbs cell phone/ radio towers and fixes them. Makes a decent amount of money, though it's barely enough to keep us afloat. Colleen works at Nasa and sometimes goes to Greenland to help check out the ozone layer.

My Mom works at Soft Stuff Distributors and Juel is a Forklift Mechanic. My brother Dylan is going to college for a degree in game coding. Both my Dad and Mom are fairly tall but I think I'm gonna be taller than both of them. Though I am a bit underweight for my age. I blame my fast metabolism though.

With me being a little over six feet tall at the age of fifteen, it gives me a good amount of perks. Though, not all things are good. Last year I had to go into surgery because I had a rare disease called, pectus excavatum. Basically, I had a huge dent in my chest. A little over 2 inches deep I think it was.

It had gotten so bad though, it moved my heart. So about two weeks after school was done, I was taken to the hospital and they placed a bar so that my chest was popped back out again. The said in three years they would have to take it out.

So from there I ate more to gain some more weight and worked out. I have gotten a decently toned body for my efforts. I have made a decent amount of money by mowing lawns as I charge depending on the size of the lawn. Small ranges from 7 to 10 dollars. Medium ranges from 11 to 15 dollars. And Large ranges from 16 to 20 dollars.

I have just finished mowing the lawn I was currently working on. It was a medium-sized yard and decided to charge 14 dollars. I got my money, put the mower in the wagon attached to my bike and went home.

When I got home I put the mower away and detached the wagon from my bike. I went inside a got a glass of water. I downed it no problem and started to clean the dishes. Once done with that I went to take a shower since I smelled of sweat and yard clippings. I didn't have to worry about anyone being home tonight since Dad had to stay in a hotel cause the work sight was so far away.

Colleen was out on a business trip and my younger siblings were at Colleen’s parents house. We didn't have school today due to it being a holiday or special occasion of some sort. Never payed attention to it really. I got my clothes ready and then took off my current clothes.

I climbed into the shower and let the warm water run over my body. I got clean and washed off. I turned off the water and climbed out of the tub. The house had two small bathrooms and even though they both had showers, only one could be on at a time.

I put on my PJ’s and went downstairs to make dinner. I decided on a grilled cheese and some Ramen soup. (I'll skip forward a little bit as too not bore you with my day to day routine.) As I was getting into bed after playing some Fallout 4 on the Xbox One S. I looked at my calendar and noticed that tomorrow was my birthday.

It was also the day that my Dad comes back home. I groaned in annoyance and turned to my bed. I got under the silver blank and cuddled my two plushies. I had an Alicorn Twilight Sparkle Plush and a Tempest Shadow Plush as well. I really wanted a Life Size Celestia Plushie though. That why I was saving up my money so I could buy one from the guys that made it.

I still had some money leftover from Christmas and my ‘Assassin’s Creed Origins’ Wallet was now filled with over 400 dollars. I was proud of myself since the last time I had 400 dollars was when I was seven years old. Most of it was in change. That piggy bank weighed a ton! Even Juel was amazed at how much it weighed at the time.

Why I was saving up so much money at the time? I wanted to buy a comfy rocking chair with a rocking footstool. But ended up buying video games and the like. Anyway, after I got nice and snug with my plushies, I slowly drifted off to Luna’s realm. That night was horrible to say the least. I had nightmare after nightmare and I couldn't even wake up from one nightmare before the next began.

Most of them were altered memories. The rest were normal memories but they could still be called nightmares. When I finally did wake up, it was morning and I had to get ready for school. My upper half was drenched in sweat so I shed that shirt in favor for a plaid T-shirt. It was mainly a dark blue with white criss cross patterns all over it.

I switched out my sweat filled PJ bottoms and put on some khakis. I quickly made my Lunch, fed the animals, and ate breakfast. By time I was done with all of that it was time to go. I opened the back gate and wheeled my bike to the side of the couch. I closed the gate back up and locked the front door.

I rode my bike the quarter mile it took me to get to school. Though I did accidentally turned my bike too tight and I ended up scraping my leg. I shook off the pain and sped to school. Once at the place where you lock up your bikes, I did exactly that and quickly walked to class. While I was going quickly to my class, I was by no means anywhere near late. I just like to be there early.

Since today was an A day, I had my favourite classes today. In order, they were English, Government, Math, and Coping Skills. I walked into class but oddly everyone ignored me. Even the one or two friends I had in that class. I even thought that one of the girls had a crush on me for a little but chalked it up to her being nicer than other students.

Even she ignored me. I didn't care that much since I was used to it. What really dampened my mood was that I forgot we had a test today. The rest of my day was similar to that of 1st period. Walk in, sit down, be ignored and do my work. It was the final class of the day before I even knew it. This was why I liked my A day's more than my B days. I walked in to a mostly empty classroom that had only two or three students in there already.

I had come to know most of the class as my friends and even told them that I write stories. Never told exactly what though. I found it extremely ironic since one of the kids was actually named AJ or otherwise known as Alexander James. Who knew?

The class was strangely uneventful. Whenever that class was in session something always happens. When I was going home I was a bit sad actually. While I wasn't that kid who always wanted attention. It was nice to actually be noticed on your birthday. I even said Happy Birthday to random kids I didn't even know when it was their birthday.

While I didn't tell anyone this, not even my parents and they didn't know. I was actually a bit depressed when I was alone and not distracted. Whether it be games or writing. MLP really helped a lot in that aspect. While I was a closet Brony by all means, I knew one friend that was apparently a Brony too. I wasn't a Brony at the time we met but I told him I was when we were going to MineCon™.

Me and him were both surprised for different reasons. Me was that he was a Brony and him thinking that I hated that kind of stuff since I put a facade to wade off any suspicions. I didn't have my Plushie at the time either. Anywho, when I got home I was hungry again and made a small snack.

Now, I had a sweet tooth that could rival Pinkie, I had one sugary weakness, Frosting. Anything without frosting and I'm good. Add a cupcake worth of frosting and I have a horrible stomach ache. That's why I liked brownies more than anything. So I grabbed a brownie from a plate that was in the fridge and ate it.

I then sat at my desk and quickly finished my homework. It was fairly easy and took almost no time at all. Once done I set out to do what little chores I had. Mainly cleaning that kitchen and vacuuming. When done with the vacuuming there was a knock on the door. I walked over to see a huge brown box that bad no special tape on it. I looked out the window to see a guy walking away to a FedEx truck.

I opened the door and looked around the box. On top was a letter that had my address. I became excited as I tried moving the box inside. Only to find out that it wouldn't fit. I then moved it to the back and placed it by the sliding glass door. Still not big enough.

“How the hell do I bring you inside?” I asked the box. I obviously got no response. I sighed and started to open the box. When I opened it I got the surprise of my life to see a Giant Celestia Plushie. It was actually a bit smaller than me but I knew that if I actually went to Equestria that Celestia would be a little bit taller than me. Not counting her horn. I quickly got the Celestia Plush out of the box and inside before anyone saw.

I rushed to my room with the plush in my arms and put it on my bed. I went downstairs and looked inside the box again. There was a letter in it.

“To whom it may concern, send me my money through this letter. $400 should be enough to cover expenses.” The letter read. I went upstairs, fished out my money and put it in the envelope. I ran outside and put it in the mailbox. Running back inside I jumped on my bed and big spooned the Celestia Plush.

After I cuddled it a bit I got an idea. I got up and removed the large gold colored necklace. I put it on myself and spoke like I was speaking to a crowd. “From henceforth, I declared that at least once a day, BlueBlood shall be kicked in his flank.”

I laughed at my own joke but my joy was smashed when I heard a car door slam. I looked out my window and saw that dad was home. I covered the plush with my blankets and hurried downstairs to unlock the door. When I opened it I was instantly bombarded with Dad's rage.

He pushed me away from the door where I tripped over the baby gate and fell on my back. I tried to get up but he stepped on top of my leg with his boot. I thought I heard a bone crack. I was immediately picked up and shoved upstairs. Once I was in his room he took off his belt and whipped me with it.

Wouldn't be so bad if he didn't have a belt that had a huge ass belt buckle. My eyes started to tear up in pain and confusion when he stopped and shoved me into my room. He shut the door and I heard him block it with something. I moved over to my Celestia Plush and cuddled it along with my other Plushies. I began to openly cry into the fake Celestia’s coat, making it become damp.

I heard something outside and saw that he moved the metal campfire into the front yard. He took a black box which I recognized as my enderhead that was apparently filled with my MLP comics and stuff I got from MineCon™. Even my Diamond Sword with Jeromeasf's signature on it was in there.

I then knew what he was going to do. He was going to burn all my stuff. I watched with horror as he lit it up and began to burn it. He was also stupid since my door opened inwards. I moved my dressers so they were blocking the door. I then crawled back into bed and cuddled my plushies once more.

I fell asleep soon afterwards.

(Luna Pov.)

I gasped as I returned from the dream realm. My cheeks were stained with tears from the horrible nightmare that I had witnessed but wasn't able to do anything about. It was of a young creature being mercilessly tormented and beaten by what appeared to be the creature’s father. I was enraged at the father and felt a great sorrow for the young one.

That wasn't even the worst part. When one nightmare ended another began. I felt the energy and knew that it was a memory nightmare. The worst of their kind. It tweaked the nightmare so it was worse than what the bad memory already was.

I could still hear the screams of pain that he gave off. I didn't noticed but I had begun to cry again. Soon after my sister teleported into my room with a worried look on her muzzle. “Luna!? Is everyth-” I cut her off by hugging her tightly. She said no more and return the hug to attempt to calm me down.

“Shh, it's alright little sister, it's okay.” She whispered comfortingly into my ear. I removed myself from her embraced and faced my sister.

“No! It is not okay dear sister! That young creature has practically tortured by his own father! How can such a cruel being do that to their own flesh and blood!?” I all but screamed at her. I broke down again and she began to run her hoof down my mane.

After what felt like an hour I had stopped crying. I removed myself from her embrace and she asked. “Luna, I want you to tell me everything about what happened last night.”

(One hour later)

“Then the young one was finally able to wake up.” I finished my telling of the nightmares I saw. My sister looked enraged at the father but was mixed with sorrow for the young one. “Sister, we must do something to help this young one.” I have to admit, I always had a soft spot for foals and I knew that niece Cadence and Sister Tia knew that as well.

“I agree with you Luna, but what could we do? We can not simply bring him here.” After Tia had finished saying that I instantly got an idea.

“What if we could Sister! Maybe Discord knows a way to do so!” My head began to fill with the ideas of what I could do with the young creature if he was here. ‘Perhaps he may want to snuggle with me! Nor would he be afraid to at least talk with me like a normal pony and not fear me!’

“I don't know Luna, I know you want to help this creature you saw but I don't think that ripping him from his friends and other family is a good idea. That and you have to imagine what our ponies might think. I know the ponies of Canterlot Nobility will react badly as they do to anything, but what about Ponyville, Manehatten, Appleloosa, other cities and towns like that.”

“I know about them sister and I was not simply going to foal nap it. Next time it sleeps I would attempt to enter it's dream and ask if it would like to leave it's world and be in ours. Please Tia!” I finished with my irresistible pleading eyes. She sighed and said.

“Fine, but I think we should bring the Elements, Cadence and Shining and possibly Starlight and Tempest. If this thing turns out to be a trick I want to be ready.” Celestia said before giving me one last hug. I returned said hug with new found joy. I then let out a yawn and said.

“Well, I best get to sleep for tonight. I want to be well rested when I meet the being.” Celestia nodded before ending the hug and walking out of the room.

I got in my bed and got comfortable. Only to be stopped by my grumbling stomach. I reluctantly went to the dining hall to eat before going to bed.

(Hours later)

I slowly woke up and then realised I needed to lower the moon. I quickly did so and then bounded down the hallway, completely foregoing my jewelry. I ran into the throne room to see Twilight Sparkle and her friends as well as my niece and nephew-in-law.

Discord was among those present. “Alright what's going on?” Discord actually asked in a serious tone which surprised all of us.

“Discord? Is that you? If so this is very strange. Your actually being… serious about something.” I said with mock shock. This made some of our guests snort in laughter. Discord just rolled his eyes and said.

“Yeah, well, I'm tired and nopony has told me what's going on!” Discord exclaimed. This earned me a questioningly look from Twilight.

“Actually, I was wondering about that too, all Princess Celestia told us in the letter was to come to the castle because you wanted to ask us something.” This made all eyes turn toward me. I suddenly got nervous from all the sudden attention.

“Um, yes, well, you see.” I cleared my throat before continuing. “Last night in the dream realm I was going through the dreams when a nightmare caught my attention. It was of a young creature, one never before seen on Equus. And I think from previous reports from Twilight Sparkle, it was a human. But what was strange was that it didn't look like anything from the world Twilight visited.

“It was very tall and had medium length chocolate brown hair. The ends ended up in a slight curl. It was a… slightly tannish color. It had clothes covering most of its body. Anyways, in it's nightmares, he was being beaten or tormented by its own father. What made it worse was that it was having a specific type of nightmare.

“A memory Nightmare, a nightmare that changes bad memories and makes them worse. But when one nightmare ended another began. Throughout the entire night I was forced to watch. I couldn't go near the dream without the nightmare energies pushing me away.

“So I wanted to bring the creature here. And no I am not going to make it come here against its own will. I am going to ask it before taking action. Discord, when I find the dream, I want you to open a portal in the creatures bedroom so that it may come here. Leave it open as long as you can before closing it.”

“Hmm, No.” Discord said half-heartedly. Fluttershy stared at him with shock and anger.

“Discord! This creature may be suffering and you won't even try to help it! Shame on you!” Fluttershy said using ‘The Stare’. And Discord got the full force of it.

“A-alright, I-I'll do it. Just please stop doing that!” He said slightly whimpering. Fluttershy nodded and turned back to me.

“Alright Princess Luna, but why are we here?” Asked Rainbow Dash. My sister then stepped up.

“You are all here incase this creature was playing a trick on my sister. If it was then we will need to rather force it back into the portal or use the elements on it.” She said with a firm tone. With that I closed my eyes and sent my mind to the dream realm.

When I got there I looked for the dreamer again and quickly found it. There was more nightmare energy then before but I persisted this time to help the poor creature. I used my dream magic to blast away the nightmare energy. When I made sure to clear it all away I entered the dream.

(Danny Pov.)

All of a sudden my nightmare was gone and replaced with a field with a starry sky and a huge moon. The silhouette of a unicorn appeared on the moon before leaving it and a figure started to fly towards me at a fast speed. I had to squint my eyes too look closer but I was soon tackled by the dark blue blur.

I didn't feel anything but I could hear it. “Oh my Celestia are you okay!? I wasn't too late was I?” I've heard that voice before. But where? My eyes were currently closed. So I slowly opened them too see…

“PRINCESS LUNA!” I yelled in surprise. “Holy shit this has to be a dream, this is way too good to be true.” I said to myself because I didn't expect an answer.

“I do not know how you know my name but while this is a dream, I can assure you that I am not supposed to be here. Now, I have come here to ask you a question. If you want, do you wish to leave your world, and come join mine?” I was speechless. This wasn't dream Luna, this was real Luna, the Luna from the show, the Luna that lives in a real Equestria.

And she just asked if I wanted to live there. I was conflicted between leaving my world because of my friends and… other family then my Dad. While my friends would think I'm dead or ran away, my family would think I've finally cracked from Dad and committed suicide. But when no body is found they would send out a search team for me.

When I wouldn't be found they would think I'm dead. That and I bet Dad would be happy to see I'm gone cause he most likely thinks I'm nothing but a waste of space. I layed there and contemplated what to do while absentmindedly petting Luna. I heard her sigh in bliss as I worked my magic on her ears.

Then my head roamed to my brother. What did he say that one time? Oh right, ‘Follow your own path, because you only live once.’ My brother… Then my head roamed back to images of the show and all the ponies in them. “Luna. I think I've made my decision.” She looked up at me with a cute curious stare.

“I-... I want to go to Equestria.” I could tell that she really liked my answer because she ‘Squeed' in happiness just like the show.

“Joy! We can not wait to show you to my sister and our friends!”

“Umm, How is this supposed to work? Do you like make a portal and I just jump through?” She nodded rapidly and said.

“Yes that is exactly what you are going to do. And if you want you can bring some of your things with you. I will be waiting. Goodbye creature! See you again soon!” And with that Luna disappeared and I suddenly woke up.

I looked around my room and didn't see a portal. I sighed and whispered to myself. “I knew it was too good to be-” I was cut off by a white portal opening on my wall. I stared at it a little before quickly hoping out of bed and grabbing my things and throwing them in a duffle bag.

Once I had a few sets of clothes and all of my tablets and 3DS with a little backpack that held all the games, I slid the big strap across my body. I grabbed some books that I got from school and put it in my backpack. I slid that on and then grabbed my phone, some gum, but paused as I looked at my Plushies. I ended up on leaving them behind.

I made my way over to the portal and yelled out. “YOLO!” Before dashing through. The sensation of going through a portal is a weird one, I will tell you that. I could never describe it to anyone. Once I was through I tripped on my own shoe and I fell face forward onto a hard marble floor. “Oh shite!” Was what I yelled before hitting my head and blacking out.

(Luna Pov.)

That certainly was an… interesting way of making an entrance. As soon as he stepped out of the portal he tripped and fell onto the floor. I didn't see him move after that and made my way over to him. He was still breathing so I chalked it up to him being knocked unconscious.

“Well that was anticlimactic.” Pinkie Pie said. I couldn't help but snort at her unintended joke. I levitated the being onto my back after taking off his bags.

“Sister can you have the maids prepare a room for our otherworldly visitor? And could you make it as close to my room as possible.” I walked off without listening for a response. I made my way to my room carrying the being and levitating his belongings.

Once there I placed him on my bed and his bags near the door. I watched him for a bit before having to go to the dream realm. “Good night young one, I shall ensure you have a restful sleep.” I said before opening my mind to the dream realm.

(Next Morning)

(Danny Pov.)

I woke up to a very soft bed and a warm something that was hugging me. I slowly opened my eyes to see the awake form of Princess Luna as she cuddled me. I decided to return the cuddle so I wrapped my arms around her barrel and brought her closer. My head was now pressed up against her chest fluff.

I moved a hand up to stroke her flowing mane. I could practically feel the happiness and contentment off of her. We laid there until our stomachs told us to eat. She blushed a bit but I shrugged it off. I got up and looked down to see that I still had my clothes on from yesterday.

I quickly spotted my bags and made my way over to them while taking off my shirt. I took off my shoes and socks and placed them with my shirt. I left my pants on and fished through my duffel for a shirt and pair of socks. I could feel Luna's eyes on my half naked form so I decided to tease her a bit. “Like what you see?”

I could almost feel the heat of her blush. While I acted normally in my mind I was freaking out. I was here, in Equestria, I was living every brony’s dream! On that note, I really hope this isn't justa dream. I got on some new socks and pulled my wheels out of the bag as well. I grabbed my shoes and slid the wheels into their slots. My new shirt was just like my old one but the colors were switched.

I put them on and said to Luna. “Alright, lead the way because I have no idea what we're doing today. Hey that rhymed.” Luna giggled at my nonsense and walked out the door. I followed her and decided to have some fun. I spun around and made it so my shoes were rolling me backwards.

I sped up a little so I was in front of Luna. At first she acted like that was normal. ‘3… 2… 1…’ She suddenly shook her head and looked back at me with her mouth agape. “How are you doing that?” She asked.

“You see Luna.” I started to explain. “My shoes have little slots in them where I can put a specific type of wheel. That wheel then allows me to roll around. Like so.” I then did a 360 turn. “Ta da!”

“Can I try?” She asked with a cute curious expression.

“Sorry, I don't think that these will fit you, nor will you have the balance to stand on two legs.” She deflated a little at that. I then got an idea. “I know, how ‘bout I cook you up some eggs, my style.” That did the trick. She got very excited and clapped her hooves.

“Oooh I can't wait to try them. Now follow me to the kitchen, if you want I can have the chef's help you.” I politely declined her offer.

“Nah, I work best in the kitchen alone or not at all.” We conversed a bit more about our worlds and she was ecstatic at the mention of a person landing on the moon. Once we made it to the kitchens we walked inside to see some chefs and… I forgot the word for female cooks. Both were there and they were rushing around cooking the food.

And ready I could see multiple health code violations. Not a single hairnet in sight. Yeah they were wearing pony aprons but that doesn't keep hair from falling into the food. Heck, there was even a griffin chef in here. The dishes were piling up in the sink. “Luna, after breakfast I want all the cooks in here so I can teach them about safety and health code.”

She looked confused but nodded. We walked past the cooks and when they saw Luna they bowed to her. I heard Luna silently groan when they did. We walked through a pair of double doors into a dining room. “Nice set up. Little fancy for me but still looks good. I more of a nice but casual guy. You can tell that by my clothes.”

I noticed that the others were now staring at us. I also noticed that Flurry Heart was at the table so I had to tone down my cussing. “What? Never seen a guy and a pony princess talking?” I said as I took out Luna's seat. She sat on her seat with a barely noticeable blush on her face.

“Thank you Danny.”

“No problem, and y'all can just call me Dan.” I said walking over to my seat. Unfortunately while I was walking over to the empty seat I had accidently banged my right shin on the table. It wouldn't have been so bad if the table wasn't so low. “SON OF A FUDGESICKLE!” I yelled in pain while grasping at my right leg.

This had also been the leg that had been stepped on and had received the scrape. So the pain was immense. I sat on the floor and all the ponies were looking at me in worry. I rolled up my right pants leg to see how my shin was doing. To say it was doing badly was an understatement. I had a massive purple and black bruise and there was hard pieces of dried blood on it.

“Ugh, you have got to be shizzing me. Hey can I get an ice pack or something?” When Fluttershy saw my injury she sprung into full Nurse mode.

“Oh my Celestia! What happened to your leg!?” She whisper shouted as she full over to me. The others became worried and walked over to me with Cadence holding Flurry Heart.

“I'm fine, I'm tougher than I look. I just had a lot of bad things happen to my right leg.” She didn't accept that as an answer and stared at me sternly. It was The Stare. In the show I thought it was ridiculous that just looking at someone could do what The Stare did. To be on the receiving side of it though. It was seriously exaggerated.

It was probably toned down because of how cute she was. “If your trying to use The Stare on me then it ain't gonna work.” They all reeled back in shock that I was not affected by Fluttershy’s Stare.

“How the hay are you not affected!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed. “Whatever you are it is not normal.” I shrugged in response.

“I don't know, probably because all of your are so darn cute. Now can I please get some ice on this wound? It'll help reduce the swelling and numb the pain.” Discord snapped his claw and a small bag of ice appeared. He gave it to me and I gingerly put it on my wound. I winced a little but didn't remove it.

“Aahhh, shiz that hurts.” I inhaled deeply then exhaled. “I'm alright, just happy it wasn't my chest. Then I would be in real deep shiz.” That only made Fluttershy worry more.

“Why? What would of happened if it was your chest?” She asked.

“Well I could have possibly died for one.” I think it was the way I said it so casually that shocked them. “You see, about a year back, I had gone into surgery. The reason is, is that I have a semi-rare medical condition. I think it was called pectus excavatum. My chest wasn't exactly like other humans.

“I had an about a half inch… dent, in my chest. But it had gotten worse throughout the years. It became deeper and deeper until it had gotten so bad that it had moved my heart. And not emotionally I'm talking about physically.” They gasped at that.

“So when my parents noticed that I had trouble breathing they took me to get a body scan. After that, I was told that my rib cage wasn't moving like it should be and they diagnosed me with pectus excavatum. Months later and many check ups later, I was on that hospital bed and getting an IV put in my arm.

“I kept saying as a small mantra. ‘Stay focused, Stay focused, Stay focused.’ To say it worked would be a lie. Next thing I know and the surgery is done and I'm laying in a different hospital bed. I felt weird, I expected to feel something but I could only feel the bedsheets.

“When my eyes came into focus, my Mom was sitting on the bottom of my bed and… He was sitting on some kind of bench with cushions.” I said ‘He’ with a ton of venom. “Mom noticed that I have woken up and she smiled at me. I tried saying something but my throat was very dry. I asked for some water and she gave me a cup with a straw in it. When I asked if the surgery was done, she moved my blanket down and moved the hospital gown till I could see my chest.

“I- I was so happy at that moment. ‘I was normal.’ That thought was played over and over in my head. I was normal, I was like other people at that moment. People had always teased me and bullied me but right then and there, I didn't care, I was normal. I didn't have a gaping dent in my chest.” I started to tear up a little at the memory. But they were tears of joy and not of sadness.

I started to cry but I still had a smile on my face as I did. I wiped the tears away with my arm. I felt something hug my other arm and I looked down to see Flurry Heart trying to hug me but she was to small so she settled on hugging my arm. I ran my fingers through her curly mane and she giggled at the contact.

I held my hand out for her to see and she started to inspect my fingers and hand. I lightly booped her on the tip of her muzzle with my index finger and she giggled some more. My day was instantly became better with Flurry Heart's giggles. I held her with one arm and started to tickle her with the other. She burst out in a fit of giggles and laughs.

“Wow, I had never seen Flurry warm up to anypony like that.” Cadence said with amazement. I placed Flurry on top of my head like a hat where she began messing with my thick hair.

“Meh, I've had three younger siblings by now so I know how to play with them.”

“You've must of been a great brother.” I chuckled at that.

“I guess so. If you want I could foal sit every now and then. Flurry has already taken a liking to me and it could give you and your husband more time to yourselves. If ya know what I mean.” I said with a teasing wink. Cadence and Shining became red in the face at what I was implying.

I tried standing up with Flurry still on my head. I hobbled over to a chair and sat down. I could tell Flurry wasn't used to being so high up but she loved it nonetheless. “So, what's for breakfast?” I asked Celestia.

“I didn't know what your kind ate so I presumed herbivore, but by the look of your canines. I presumed wrong.” Celestia said with what I think was a ting of worry.

“Wrong and wrong, I'm an omnivore. I eat both meat and veggies. I don't need meat all the time but I will need at least one meal a week with meat in it. But in any case I'm fine with almost anything except grass, flowers, and hay. Those can seriously screw up my digestive track.” Celestia nodded and then the waiters came out with our food. They spread it across the table so the food could be passed around if needed.

I eyed some cinnamon rolls and eggs. “Flurry, do you see what I see?” I felt her nod in response. “Good. I have a plan so we can have all of those cinnamon rolls. And I promise to share with you. Okay?” She nodded again and lifted her off my head so I could whisper the plan to her.

She crawled under the table to nab them while I had to make a scene to distract everyone while she took them. “So guys, how am I going to be staying here? I already have an idea but I want to hear what you all have planned.”

I had all of their attention. Celestia swallowed what she had in her mouth and said. “We never really had a plan as your coming here was so sudden, but if you have a plan then I think we would all like to hear it.”

“Well, I planned on staying here for the first two days. My first would be with Luna and the next day with you. Then I would travel to the Crystal Empire with Cadence and Shining. I would spend a day each with the two of them before travelling to Ponyville where I would do the same with the others.” Flurry had just moved the Plate piled high with Cinnamon rolls under the table with her magic.

Celestia contemplated this and seemed to brighten up. “That seems like a marvelous idea Dan. It would be nice to get to know you a little better.” Flurry was now back at my seat but has yet to come out because she waiting for my signal.

“If you all will excuse me I have to go the bathroom.” I tapped my foot once to signal Flurry to get ready. I stood up and turned around to open the big door. Once I had it open enough I snapped my fingers and Flurry teleported out into the hall but made sure the flash wasn't seen by them.

I closed the door and picked up Flurry. “Good job Flurry, now let's find a place to gorge on these sweets.” And with that I ran off to find the gardens and hide in the maze.
