30 years ago, Starlight Glimmer got lost in an icy cave near the Crystal Empire and was frozen in a secluded block of ice. Now, she has woken up to find herself in an Equestria shrouded in a never-ending winter. Her old friends are nowhere to be found. The alicorns have been banished to the sun and moon. The tyrannical Blizzard King, heir to the Storm King, rules the freezing wasteland. And the Elements of Harmony have been lost.

Enter Silica Pumice. The daughter of Limestone Pie is exploring the icy caverns one day when she encounters the frozen Starlight and decides to free the unicorn from her frigid prison.

Little does Silica know, she is about to set hoof on the adventure of a lifetime...
