After-wedding catastrophes
"Can you believe we're married?" said Rainbow Dash, taking in the breathtaking view of the snowy hillside.
"I can, I just hope Caramel isn't right" muttered Soarin.
"Right about what?"
"About all wives bossing there husbands around in under 12 months, knowing you it'll be earlier" Soarin explained, reading his book.
Rainbow Dash turned around to face him. "What are you trying to say, that I'm hot-tempered?"
"Well, yeah, duh"
Rainbow Dash felt herself scorch with anger. "We just got married and you're pointing out my faults? Which stallion does that?"
"Well Caramel-" started Soarin.
"I don't care what Caramel did!" yelled Rainbow, storming off into the bedroom.
She lay angrily as Soarin came to comfort her. "Okay, sorry, I shouldn't have been that honest with you"
"Really?"
"Well here I am, trying to be a good sport, and you're just acting like a stuck up princess, probably because you're friends with one!"
"Don't you dare insult my friend, who is way better then any of your stupid friends!" screamed the Element Of Loyalty.
"I don't know why I married someone as agumentive as you!" shouted Soarin.
"That's it, I'm leaving" said Rainbow Dash, packing her bag and heading out the door.
The next day, Scootaloo saw Rainbow Dash sitting on a storm cloud.
"Rainbow?" she called from below.
"Leave me alone" growled Rainbow Dash.
"What's wrong? Shouldn't you be on your honeymoon with Soarin?"
"We had a fight" Rainbow sighed.
"Come on Dash! You two used to always say how in love you are, you can't let a silly fight get in the way of that!" Scootaloo said.
"You know what- you're right! Thanks Scoots!" said Rainbow, leaving a trail of cloud behind.
"No problem" said Scootaloo, happily humming to herself.
Knock knock knock "Oh, it's you!" growled Soarin, when he opened the door.
"Listen, I'm sorry, I think we can agree, that a silly fight shouldn't ruin our relationship" Rainbow said.
"I'm sorry too, how about we, start over?" said Soarin, giving his awkward-yet-adorable cute smile Rainbow had been dying to see. She leapt in and kissed him happily, catching him off guard.
"Shall we take a seat?" smirked Soarin, bringing her to the fireplace.
"We shall!"
All of a sudden, Rainbow Dash saw a letter addressed to Soarin from the corner of her eye. It was opened.
"I'll just go make us some coffee, okay Dash?" called Soarin from the kitchen.
"Yeah yeah" muttered Rainbow, opening the letter.
Dear Soarin,
It's been too long. I miss you, and I need to see you. I read in the Canterlot Courier that you got married to 'Rainbow Dash' I knew you were going to date some cheap mare, but Dash? You can do so much better! Like me, for example! Meet me today at 9, the usual
Love, Sky Swirl
Rainbow Dash lit up with anger. "Looks like Soarin is seeing another mare! I'll catch him in the act today at 6" she thought.
"Here's your coffee honey" said Soarin, handing her the mug. Rainbow Dash glared daggers at him.
"Something I said?" he muttered weakly underneath her glare.
"Nope. Great coffee!" said Rainbow Dash, suddenly beaming. Soarin sighed with relief. The last thing they needed was another fight.
At six of clock that afternoon, Rainbow pretended to make dinner, while Soarin said he had to pick up his Womderbolt training equipment. After he left, Rainbow slowly followed after him, and she noticed he was flying towards the Hoof Cafe. Everypony knew at that time, Berry Punch was around, and it was best to steer clear of her.
Rainbow saw Soarin talking to Berry Punch. Berry hit a few bricks, and a passage opened below. Soarin walked down into the cellar, as Rainbow snuck past Berry and followed him. She hid behind a pillar and saw Soarin walking up to a light blue Pegasus, with a poofy snow white mane, with streaks of dark blue.
"Soarin, it's been so long" said the mare, edging closer to Soarin, "It's like you've forgotten me"
"I left Dash making dinner to do this, she has no clue" Soarin said. Rainbow's eyes welled up with tears. She pounced out of the shadows.
"Still getting your training equipment?" sneered Rainbow Dash.
"Dash!" cried Soarin, pulling the mare off his arm, "This isn't what it looks like!"
Rainbow laughed, "Every stallion who gets caught says that, but they all have a valid reason. But you can't have a reason. You're clearly cheating on me!"
"Dash listen-" started Soarin.
"Don't you say my name!" yelled Rainbow, hot tears streaming from her face, "You're cheating on me"
"FOR GOODNESS SAKES, I'M NOT CHEATING ON YOU!" roared Soarin. The room became so quiet you could here a pin drop.
"Wow" said Rainbow, walking out.
"Rainbow, I'm sorry-" said Soarin, calming down.
"Save it" whispered Rainbow Dash, flying out the cellar, silent tears streaming down.
"Great. She didn't even let me explain, she could be mad, but seriously? This was too far" said Soarin, his anger bubbling up again.
"Can we continue?" asked the mare flirtatiously. Soarin groaned and shoved her off, flying out of the cellar.
That night, Rainbow sobbed quietly in her room. Her friends suddenly burst in.
"Rainbow?" Pinkie said. She had never seen her friend so upset before, "Let's turn that frown upside down!"
"Rainbow Dash, are you okay?" asked Twillight. Rainbow got up, her face tear streaked.
"That Soarin's going to pay!" said Rarity.
"No, forget it, he's not worth it" sighed Rainbow.
"You know what Dash, if Soarin can't love you for who you are, you need to get rid of him" said Fluttershy.
"What are you saying?" Rainbow was confused.
"Divorce" Everyone went silent.
"I'm with Fluttershy, Soarin just ain't worth so much pain, so just get rid of 'im" Applejack said.
"I'll talk to Princess Celestia, but according to Equestrian law, you have to go to court against him, in trial" explained Twilight, "You have to be trained, Princess Celestia will train you and I'll do Soarin"
"What! I'm so confused" Rainbow said.
"Court Trial 101"

It had been 6 months after the whole secret mare incident. The two kept on having small issues, and Rainbow had put Twilight's divorce idea aside.
"He keeps hurting you darling, get rid of him!" said Rarity.
"Whatever" said Rainbow, sobbing quietly. They had some kind of fight every day. This time, Soarin broke Dash's Wonderbolt statue collection.
"You need to stop this, and it starts with court trial 101" Twilight said firmly.
"Wait-what?" Rainbow said.
"You heard me, you got to practice for court, together" Twilight replied.
"No way! I can't tolerate him!" said Rainbow.
"If you want to get rid of him once and for all this is how" explained Twilight.
"You know what- He'll pay fo messing with Rainbow Dash, and cheating on me after marriage" Rainbow said, leaping off bed, wiping her tears.
Her friends smiled. That's the Rainbow a Dash they knew and loved. That night, Rainbow Dash went to see Soarin. "I've decided we're not going to last, we need to do something" started Dash.
"What are you talking about?"
"I think, we would be better apart, perhaps where you could be with that other mare" said Rainbow Dash, anger rising, but remaining calm.
"For the last time, I'm not with her, but I think you're right and we would be better apart" Soarin said, sighing.
"Right" Rainbow felt tears sting her eyes, the reality sinking in, "Should we start filling the forms?"
"Sure" said Soarin, leading Dash into the living room. Rainbow looked around, remembering all there memories there. They spent the afternoon filling in forms and signing documents.
"Oh, and Twilight told me we have to take a month long studies for going to court for divorce" explained Rainbow. She could swear she saw Soarin flinch at the word 'divorce'.
"It's been 6 months since I discovered that 'mare' issue, right?" said Rainbow.
"Yep. But again, I'm not with her" Soarin said.
"Oh come on!" yelled Rainbow, "Just admit you didn't like me enough"
"For the billionth time, I'm not with that creep!" shouted Soarin. The two looked at each other. They could hardly not fight for one afternoon.
"We need to meet up tomorrow twelve midday at Canterlot Restuarant to discuss lessons with Princess Celestia and Twilight, who you think are stuck up" Rainbow said, flying out the door. Soarin took a deep breath. He couldn't believe what just happened. It was all his fault. Perhaps they were better off apart.
The next morning, Rainbow handed the pages in to Twilight's castle. "I still can't believe you're getting divorce" sighed Twilight sadly. After handing the papers, Rainbow met Scootaloo.
"Hey Dash, you seem low these days" said Scootaloo.
"Soarin and I are getting divorced" explained Rainbow.
"What! You two are meant to be, this is so wrong!" Scootaloo insisted.
"It's what's best for both of us" said Rainbow.
"But you love each other" pleaded Scootaloo.
"Scootaloo you're too young for this! This is adult talk! Go away!" yelled Rainbow. Scootaloo's eyes welled up with tears as she got one her scooter and left.
"What am I doing!" thought Rainbow.
The next day, the four met up opat Canterlot restaurant. "So, you two really want to do this?" asked Princess Celestia.
Soarin and Rainbow looked at each other, and nodded. Celestia sighed. "Rainbow, I'll teach you, and Soarin, you're with Twilight" said Celestia.
Both pairs headed off. "First of all, what's your issue with Dash?" asked Twilight.
"Um, she doesn't listen to me, she thinks I'm cheating on her, and she doesn't let me be honsest with her" explained Soarin.
"Do you really want to get a divorce?"
Soarin paused to think. "I didn't at the beginning, I love Dash, but if she's not happy, that's okay" His voice cracked at the end.
"Well, I'll teach you court basics first" said Twilight. She set up dot points on the board for him to copy down. Soarin half heartlidly did the assignments, taking back a heavy book on law home. He saw Dash doing the same. "You two will have to stay under one roof for now" called Celestia.
"Is that really a law?" whispered Twilight.
"No, but I don't want this to happen, maybe they can bond" said Celestia. Twilight nodded.
At the home, Rainbow went to the kitchen to make coffee, which she hadn't done for over a year. When she brought it for them, and Soarin sipped it, he was surprised. "You remember my usual"
"Of course I do" said Rainbow.
"So... read any good books lately?" Soarin tried to break the ice.
"So glad you asked! I read the latest Daring Do, so good!" Rainbow's mood suddenly changing. Soarin listened to her drone on for almost an hour. He looked at her dreamily, admiring her beauty.
"Um, Soarin, you okay?" asked Rainbow, waving her hoof in front of his star struck face. He suddenly snapped out his trance.
"Yeah" he mummbled. He had to face reality. They were getting separated. No time to fall in love with her again.
That night, both of them studied the large book. They both laughed as Rainbow made fun of the book, and it being for eggheads like Twilight. Rainbow was starting to enjoy with him again. "Come on Rainbow, we're being divorced forget it"
That next morning, everything was frozen again. The next week was silence for them, both studying obsessively for the court trial.
That night, Soarin tossed and turned in the bed. There were loud noises coming from outside. He stirred, and heard a scream. It was Rainbow's! Soarin panicked, waking up.
He saw two stallions in black taking Dash away in a train. He tried to fly to it, but felt a magical barrier block him. He yelled, as he saw them hit Rainbow with a pan, knocking her out so she wouldn't scream underneath the gag. Soarin flew desperately to the nearest house, Princess Twilight's.
"Rainbow's been captured!" He yelled
