Aura Guardian in Equestria
Ash, ten years old, was laying in his room, staring at the ceiling. He couldn't believe he was here. After losing in the finals of the Lumiose Conference, he never expected to be invited to the legendary Master Cup. The Master Cup was a tournament that you had to be invited to if you wanted to take part in it. If you were invited, it meant that you were one of the best or that the people who runs the tournament see potential in you. He was going to fight against other regions' champions, elite four, gym leaders, frontier brains and so much more. There were people he met on his journey, like Paul, Alain, Gary, and so many more of his friends and rivals. Due to the rules of the Battle Chateau, Ash was wearing his Baron outfit (Cover art). Turning in his bed, he looked at his best friend, Pikachu, a yellow rodent-like creature with red cheeks and a lightning bolt shaped tail, sleeping near his other pokeballs. The rules of the Master Cup were very strict and he almost missed the tournament because of it. He could only use six pokemon throughout the entire tournament. If he used a pokemon he didn't register, he would be disqualified on the spot. Having to choose five pokemon, Pikachu was a given, out of all of his wasn't easy, but here he was. "Pika?"
"Sorry if I woke you, buddy. I'm just trying to wrap my head around all this," Ash said as he petted the electric mouse.
"Pika, Pikachu"
"That's a great idea, Pikachu. A midnight run should calm my nerves," Ash said as he placed his pokeballs on his belt and Pikachu took his spot on Ash's shoulder. He was walking toward the front door when he was blinded by a bright flash.
Twilight, a lavender unicorn filly of ten years and personal student to Princess Celestia, was up late at night practicing a variation on the teleportation spell. Instead of teleporting the user, an unicorn would focus their magic to teleport another object. She haven't perfected the teleportation spell yet, but after hearing about this variation, she had to try it. She was trying to teleport an apple across her room when she was blinded by a bright flash. "Ugh, what happened, Pikachu?" Twilight slowly opened her eyes, afraid she accidently teleport a pony. She couldn't believe her eyes. A creature she never saw before was in front of her.
"Pikaaa," Twilight's eyes went to the creature's shoulder. There was another unknown creature. She opened and shut her mouth, having trouble processing what was going on. The two creature realized they weren't alone and look toward Twilight. Their eyes widen in surprise.
"What are you?," they said at the same time. "I can understand you? Stop copying me! Copying you? You're copying me!"
"Piikaachuuu!" Pikachu cried as he shocked both of them. Ash, being used to it, recovered first and turned to his pokemon.
"Pikachu, what if you hurt her?" Ash saw Pikachu hang his head and decided to cheer up his loyal friend. "I know you meant well, but next time, be more careful"
"Pika"
"Hey, I'm careful...some of the time," Ash said as he placed Twilight on his lap and checked over her injuries. Her size made it slightly uncomfortable, but nothing he wasn't used to. "It doesn't seem like she isn't hurt that bad," Ash started petting the unicorn filly, causing Twilight to nuzzle his hand subconsciously. She slowly regain conscious and stared at the strange creature petting her. "Glad to see you're alright. Sorry about Pikachu"
"Chuu" Pikachu said sadly.
"It's okay. I'm sure you had good intentions," Twilight said with a smile before turning to Ash. "So what are you?"
"My name is Ash Ketchum and this is Pikachu. I'm a human, but if you want to be more specific, I'm a pokemon trainer. What about you?"
"Nice to meet you, Ash. My name is Twilight Sparkle. I'm a pony, a unicorn to be accurate. What is a pokemon?" Twilight and Ash spent all night trading questions about multiple topics and even argue a little bit. They didn't realized how much time have passed until a knock was heard.
"Twilight, are you alright?" asked a regal sounding voice on the other side of the door.
"Princess Celestia!" Twilight said in shock. "Sorry, I must have lost track of time"
"Lost track doing what?"
"Well,..." she paused here and look at Ash, who gave a nod. "Can you come in here, please? It's kinda hard to explain" The door opened and a white winged-unicorn, or alicorn, walked in. Twilight and Pikachu both bowed while Ash kneeled.
"I notice you got some guests. I'm sure Twilight already told you, but I am Princess Celestia"
"Pleasure to meet you, your highness. I am Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town and this is Pikachu"
"Pika," Pikachu said with a wave.
"It's nice to meet you too and please call me Celestia. I don't like being called highness" They continue to talk and, unfortunately for Ash, Celestia said she didn't know send Ash back. "How many of these pokemon do you have with you? I must admit to being curious"
"If you count Pikachu, I have six pokemon"
"Where are they?" asked Twilight. Ash showed them the pokeballs on his belt. "Wow, they must be really small"
"Actually, Pikachu is one of my smaller pokemon"
"Then how do they fit?"
"It's pretty complicated, even I don't fully understand it," Ash said before turning to Celestia. "Do you know a wide open place I can let my pokemon out?
On the way to the field, several ponies had to do a double take when they saw Ash. They didn't bother them because they trusted the Princess. "Will this be enough room?" asked Celestia as they walk into the field.
"Yeah, This is more than enough," Ash said. "Okay, come on out, everyone" He threw all of his pokeballs into air and they opened realizing his pokemon. The pokemon, from right to left, was Charizard, Snorlax, Sceptile, Hawlucha, and Greninja. They look around, not being familiar with the area, before looking at their trainer. They saw Twilight and Celestia, so they got into a battle stance. "Wait, we're not battling them"
"Can you introduce us to your pokemon?" asked Twilight, a little scared of Charizard.
"No problem, the orange dragon-like one with the flame on its tail is Charizard, The largest one that look like it has its eyes closed is Snorlax, the green reptilian one with the large tail and yellow balls on its back is Sceptile, the small bird-like one that look like it has a mask and cape on is Hawlucha, and the large dark- blue frog-like one that has its mouth covered with its tongue is Greninja," Ash said as he pointed at each pokemon. "Guys, this is Twilight Sparkle and Princess Celestia. They're our new friends, so I expect you to get along with them"
"I must admit that I didn't expect this when you told us about pokemon" said Celestia. The pokemon, seeing that they weren't going to fight, relax. Charizard didn't move, but his posture became more relax. Snorlax fell backward, causing the ground to shake, and fell asleep. Sceptile and Greninja both leaned against a tree. Finally, Hawlucha decided to practice his moves on another tree. Twilight, curious, walked up to the one that made her the least nervous, Snorlax.
"Is he asleep?"
"Yep, if he's not fighting or eating, he's sleeping. Sometimes, he falls asleep while fighting, but you couldn't find a more loyal group of pokemon if you tried"
"Seeing as how there's no other pokemon, I think that's a given"
"You know what I mean" Ash said as he stood next to Twilight. "Do you want to do something fun?"
"Fun?" asked Twilight before nodding. Ash whisper something into Snorlax's ear. He turned his head to look at Twilight and nodded before falling asleep.
"Okay, ready?"
"Ready for whatttt?!" screamed Twilight as Ash picked her up and threw her onto Snorlax's large belly. She sank a bit before bouncing up. After she got over her fear, she started having a great time. Ash and Pikachu joined her and they took turns doing flips and other tricks. Celestia watched with a smile on her face. "Wait, how do we stop?"
"Simple," Ash said as he turn toward the pokemon's face. "Snorlax, it's breakfast time!" Snorlax quickly grabbed the three on his belly and shot up. After placing them on the ground, he looked at Ash, waiting for the promised food. Ash pulled out a small block and threw it into Snorlax's mouth.
The pokemon's stomach bulged out a bit and he let out what sounded like a sigh. "Lax" He promptly fell back asleep.
"Did you hear that, everybody? It's time to eat!" Ash yelled as he poured food for each of other pokemon. After they all came forward and grabbed their bowl, Ash took the opportunity to better introduce the rest of his team to the two ponies and vice versa.
"Until we can find a way to get you home, you can stay in the castle" said Celestia.
"Thank you for the..."
"I must object, Aunt" interrupted a stuck-up sounding voice . "We can't give a room to this animal!"
"Good morning, Blueblood. I didn't hear you come in." said Celestia. Before she could say anything else, Ash spoke up.
"I am not an animal. I am Ash Ketchum"
"I don't care and, since you're not a pony, you must be an animal," Blueblood said as he turn his head away in disgust
"I am a pokemon trainer and future pokemon master," said Ash, who was getting angry at the stuck-up pony
"Am I supposed to be impressed? The best thing about you is your clothes and I wouldn't be surprised if we found out that they were stolen" Ash looked down and saw he was still wearing his baron outfit.
"I am also an aura guardian in training," said Ash, not wanting to let this pony have the last word.
"What..."
"Blueblood, please leave us" said Celestia.
"But..."
"Do you not trust me?"
"Yes, very well," Blueblood gave Ash one last glare, who returned it, as he walked out of the room.
"Why did you lie?" asked Celestia as she looked at Ash
"I didn't exactly lie. I been told that I have the potential to be an aura guardian and since I'm stuck here, I'm going to see if I can do anything with that potential"
"I see, and just what is an aura guardian?"
"An aura guardian is a human that is capable of using aura, an energy found in every living thing," Ash explained to Celestia. "The main priority of an Aura Guardian is to help maintain peace and harmony throughout the pokemon world. Unfortunately, there isn't very people that can use aura. Beside myself, the only other person I can think of is Riley"
"I think I understand now. Please follow me to your room. I had a bed made for you because I doubt the normal size bed would fit you," said Celestia as she smiled at the thought of Ash trying to fit in a normal sized bed.
Author's Note
next chapter will be eight years in the future and at the beginning of the series. I want to give a size comparison between pony and humans. the human is the size of the average U.S. male adult.(5 ft., 9.5 in. or 1.763 m.) (ft=feet, in=inches, m=meters)
Filly/Colt is eye level with the upper legs.
Foals is eye level with the knees
Mare/Stallion is eye level with the waist.
and finally Celestia is same height as them.
if you don't like this, then too bad. I didn't choose these height at random. i started with the mare's height and based on the death battle between Pinkie Pie and Deadpool, who is slightly taller at 6'2", Pinkie Pie was eye level with his waistline. the next was the filly's height and I based it on what i could gather from the CMCs' interactions with their sisters. Foals was based on the Cake Twins compared to Pinkie. Celestia is based on her compared to Twilight. in the second episode of the first season, when Celestia returns, you get a clear size comparison between her and Twilight. she towers over her. don't believe me.
look at this!
she's twice as tall as Twilight!
Aura Guardian in Equestria
In the eight years since Ash arrived in Equestria, he learned a lot. Not only did he learn about the history of Equestria, but he also used the principles of magic to help to control his aura. It took a lot of trial and error, but eventually he got control. His first attempt at making an aura sphere quite literary blew up in his face, but now he does't even need to think about it. While he was thinking about what has happened and what could be happening back home, Twilight accidently slammed the door into Spike, a young dragon that Twilight hatched during her entrance exam. "Spike!" yelled Twilight. "Oh, there you are".
"What the rush?" asked Ash as he threw a ball made of aura up and down. Twilight responded with shoving a book in his face.
"In this book, the author references the Elements of Harmony and I can't remember where I heard about them before. So I was thinking that if I did some reading about them, it would help jog my memories," explained Twilight. It made sense to Ash, but he still didn't understand why she was in such a rush. It's not like all the book talking about the Elements of Harmony will disappear if she did make it there in a set amount of time. While he was thinking about this, he missed an entire conversation between Twilight and Spike and returned to reality just in time to be told that he, Twilight and Spike were going to a place called Ponyville to check on the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration.
"Wow, even Celestia is saying that you read too much," joked Ash as he rode on top of Charizard. Twilight turned her head to glare at him. Spike, seeing the situation, tries to defuse it.
"You're going to be staying in a library, doesn't that make you happy?"
"You know, you're right. Do you know why?" Twilight answered her own question before anyone else could. "Because I'm right and I can use the library to prove it". Three sighs of disbelief were heard.
"But what about making friends?" asked Spike as they started to descend.
"I don't have time to make friends. The fate of Equestria doesn't depend on me making friends," Twilight said as she politely nodded her thanks to the two pegasi that brought them here.
"Wow, you're disobeying a order from Celestia?" Ash asked as he returned Charizard and tried to ignore the looks he was getting, especially the one from the unicorn with the harp cutie mark. Twilight didn't say anything, but she did roll her eyes.
"Come on, just try. These ponies might have something interesting to share," pleaded Spike. Twilight decided to please Spike and walked up to a nearby pink earth pony.
"Hello, my name is Twilight Sparkle," she said in a polite tone. The other pony's reaction was interesting to say the least. She leapt a good foot or two off the ground and let out a loud gasp. She then dashed off. Unfortunately, Ash was in her path and was tackled by the pink pony. Pikachu ran after his trainer as the two came to a rolling stop. Pinkie had comical swirls in her eyes, showing her dizziness, as she laid on top of Ash. Pikachu leapt onto the pony's back, causing her to snap out of her dizzy spell. Upon seeing Ash and Pikachu, she grinned unbelievably wide and, after carefully setting Pikachu on the ground, ran off once again. Ash turned to Pikachu, who returned to his place on Ash's shoulder.
"Is it just me or did she remind you of Bianca?"
"Pika?" Pikachu asked with a tilted head.
"The one from Unova" responded Ash. Pikachu gave his trainer a nod because he could see some similarities between the two of them.
"Are you two okay?" asked Twilight as she approach the two. "What was up with her?"
"We're both fine," Ash said. "She seemed excited".
"Whatever, let's get this over with"
Eventually the group made it to their first destination, Sweet Apple Acres. The family who own the farm was in charge of the food. As soon as they walked through the front gate, they saw a orange earth pony with a stetson on her head kick a tree. The vibration from the kick caused the apples in the tree to shake loose and fall into a group of baskets below. Twilight decided to not wait and walked right up to the female. The other were right behind her. "Hello, my name is Twilight Sparkle and..." anything else she was planning on saying was cut off by the female she was talking to.
"Well, howdy there, the name's Applejack. We folk here on Sweet Apple Acres sure do like making new friends," Applejack said as she shook Twilight's hoof. Twilight stammered out a response as her hoof continued to shake. It wasn't until Spike stopped her hoof for her that she noticed the three she arrived with were laughing at her misfortune. She gave an angry sigh as Applejack moved to talk to Ash. "Can't say I ever seen nothing like you before"
"I'll be surprised if you have," Ash said with a chuckle. "My name is Ash Ketchum and this is Pikachu"
"Chu," the yellow pokemon said with a wave of his paw.
"It's a pleasure to meet y'all. How can I can help you today?" Twilight simply told her that they were here to check on the food for the Summer Sun Celebration. Applejack decided to, not only show them the food, but also introduced her whole family to the group. Almost all of them were surprised by Ash, but they quickly recovered. One, however, had a very different reaction. A young filly with a large pink bow in her mane, introduced as Apple Bloom, didn't say anything at first. When she did, however, it was loud.
"A monster. Don't let it eat me," she screamed as she ran away. She didn't even turn back when Applejack called for her.
"I'm sorry for how my little sister acted," said Applejack with a sheepish look on her face. Ash shook his head and reassure her that he wasn't upset before turning to Pikachu.
"Do you think you could catch up to Apple Bloom?" Pikachu leapt off of his trainer's shoulder and shot off in the direction the young filly went. "Twilight, go ahead. I'm going to make sure that Apple Bloom is okay," he said as he ran in the same direction he sent Pikachu.
Ash was panting when he saw Pikachu. 'She sure ran a long way' he thought. His thoughts soon turned into worry when he saw a pained expression on Apple Bloom's face. "Pikachu, what happened?"
"Pika pikachu pi pi chuuu," he said as Ash nodded along.
"She must have sprain her ankle when she tripped," Ash said as he slowly walk toward the injured filly. "My name is Ash Ketchum. I want to help you". Apple Bloom got up, but quickly fell down when she tried to place weight on her back-left hoof. When that failed, she tried to crawl away, muttering how she didn't want to be food. Not wanting her to get hurt farther, Ash picked her off the ground and held her. She flail about for a bit before she ran out of energy and didn't move. "I'm going to help you, but I need to you to trust me". Apple Bloom lifted her head to stare Ash in the eye before nodding. "Okay, I'm going to place you down. It would be difficult for me to help you while also holding you," explained Ash as he carefully placed Apple Bloom on the ground. "Pikachu, I want you to find a stick or something to make a split"
"Pika?"
"Isn't that what they call the thing you make when you tie a stick to a injured leg?" asked Ash as he scratch his head in thought.
"Pik pika"
"Oh, it's called a splint," Ash said. "Okay, go Pikachu". Pikachu gave Ash a salute before dashing off. "Okay, I choose you, Greninja" Ash said as he throw the pokeball into the air. At the peak of the ball's arc, it opened up and a beam of light came out. Standing in front of Ash was the final evolution of Froakie, Greninja, who watched as his trainer caught the pokeball and placed it back on his belt. "Greninja, I need you to use Cut on the sleeve of my jacket," Ash said as he took off said jacket. As Greninja's water blade cut the sleeve off, Ash thought about how he need more clothes. So far, he got away with just adding a few more inches to his Kalos outfit, but it probably only had a few more year. "Thanks, Greninja. I want you to find Pikachu and help him. He'll explain"
"Pika!" Ash looked up at the cry. He saw his little buddy carrying a stick that looked tough.
"Way to go, Pikachu," Ash said before he turned to Greninja. "I need you to gently pick up Apple Bloom. She's over there". Greninja did as he was asked while Pikachu gave the stick to Ash. Placing the stick next to the filly's injured leg, it seemed to be too big. Luckily, Ash had an idea. "Pikachu, I want you to use Iron Tail right here," Ash said as he held the stick in front of himself.
"Pi!" with a loud cry, Pikachu used his tail to break off the unneeded section of the stick.
"Way to go, buddy," Ash said as he used the sleeve to secure the stick to the injured limb. "Okay, Greninja, I want you to find Twilight. I don't want a repeat with another pony while I'm looking for her," said Ash as he took Apple Bloom, who fell asleep at some point, from the ninja pokemon.
"Nin," Greninja said nothing else before he leapt off in search of Twilight.
"Come on, Pikachu"
After making sure Apple Bloom was safe, Ash waited for Greninja to return. He didn't have to wait long before the pokemon appeared. "Ja"
"Third?" Ash said as he thought about what his pokemon could mean. "Oh, she's at the third stop. That would be city hall for decorations". Ash returned Greninja to his pokeball before starting his way toward the city hall. With how small Ponyville was, it wasn't long before he arrived at a city hall that was completely devoid of life. "Huh, wonder if we missed her?"
"Are you looking for miss Rarity?" asked a mare behind them. Turning around, they found a older mare with a gray mane and a rolled up scroll for a cutie mark. "I saw her pushing a lavender unicorn toward her shop".
"I'm actually for the lavender unicorn," said Ash. "Could you tell me how to get there, please?"
"It's no problem. In fact, It's right there," she said poking at a building that reminded Ash of a carousel.
"Thanks, uh," Ash paused when he realized when he didn't know her name.
"People call me Mayor Mare," the Mayor of Ponyville said with a smile.
"Thanks, Mayor. See ya later," Ash said with a wave as he ran toward the building. While he was running toward the place, he saw Twilight running away from it. When he didn't see any other pony come out, he decided to make sure that Rarity was safe. Besides, he could always go to the library and wait for Twilight there. Walking into the open door of the store, he didn't see anything out of place.
"Here we are. Sorry, it took me so long..." Rarity's voice trailed off when she found herself staring at a strange creature. She saw its lips move and knew that the creature was saying something, but her focus was on the jacket, or rather the missing sleeve. Eventually, her mind processed the ruined jacket and she fainted.
