Black Paint is an earth pony with a secret: he's half wolf. He is also rather lonely, having been friendless most of his life and having enough social anxiety for the entire town of Ponyville. But one fateful night when his neighbor, Fluttershy, is in danger, he accidentally reveals his alternate identity to her. However, instead of being becoming afraid of him, like he expected, the entire experience brings them closer together and helps Paint remember something that he has long since forgotten.
